In Tyria, bouncy axes and arrows are okay, but bouncy bullets are just dumb.
Bouncing bullets have too much randomness to them. Who knows where they will bounce to and if they even will bounce. (Coming from the creators of black lion chests, precursor, and other RNG fun…)
There would be tears and extra space on my HDD.

Other than a want ad for a Lead Graphics Programmer, no.
So yeah, nothing. They might be used for something else entirely, we can’t be sure at all.
Except the qualifications include the following line.
“Expert knowledge of current-gen graphics APIs (DirectX 9/10/11/OpenGL 4.X and DirectX12/Metal/Vulkan).”
True, it may just be HR boilerplate.
O wow, it does specify DirectX12… You might be right though, it being an HR boilerplate.
Even if it isn’t… I think it will be probably coming Soon™ in 2018.
Dont feed the troll.
Yes! Don’t feed him. Feed me instead!
The sheer amount of diversity and choices are just staggering! Thanks Colin Johanson!

I think checkers has more build diversity. At least you can become ‘crowned’ when you reach the other side.
Nerf crown. Too much mobility.
Nerf the red side when I play white. Too much chances for them to win.
Due to the game’s design there really wasn’t much play-styles besides choosing your weapons since day one – Every thief with D/P will play like the next D/P and every thief with S/D will play like the next S/D, with very minor variances, and that’s the same thing for other classes.
Traits, runes, sigils, armor types are essentially supplements to the weapons you’re play.
Imo this isn’t true. Before the April 2014 patch the only thing every thief has to do was putting 30 points in CS. Beside that you had many choices. Back then I thought this is not much diversity, but now it’s worse. We have 2 traitlines that gives us the needed utility which is leaving us with excactly 1 choice for our last. And Acro is so bad atm that most thieves go into SA (some in CS).
And this isn’t true for other classes. Take mesmer for example. Choose a build. You can use now every weapon combination (beside scepter, this is mostly for condi) and you will be fine (worked also prepatch).
Right… and a D/P will always try to BP→HS→BS→AA→repeat as it’s main moves.

Um…
Did they ever say that they’re planing to up to DX12 or anything higher than their current DX9 for that matter?
This all seems so strange to me. I’ve played MMOs, and their like, as far as I can remember. And never, in all that time, was there a discussion about the number of maps or a lack thereof. You just don’t see it.
But in Guild Wars 2?
It’s a huge topic of contention. And if that doesn’t tell you something, nothing will. On that note, WoW is about to announce another expansion next week.
I don’t think the number of maps will be in question with that one either. Though, granted, I won’t be playing it.
Nailed it!
Btw guys, don’t hype yourselves up…
Hi guys,
I see you’re generously feeding a troll. Can I get some food too? I’m just passing by.Yes, they are either military or police issue, judging the way the person refers to summons (, i.e. pets, minions) as subordinates.
Just for funsies, I dusted off my lvl 80 necro as a MM, and yes, the working of a minion perhaps 50-60% of the time is still an issue, the biggest issue why I stopped playing MM as I did early on. At the least Anet could give Necro MM’s an F1 skill which would command the Elite Minion to attack the PC’s target, rather than stand there and look stupid. Tbh, I’ve only about 800 hrs. on Necro in the past 2 years.
As a side a note (I’ve 3.5K hrs.) as a Ranger, and whilst gathering lumber in Mt. Maelstrom last week (pet set on guard), my idiot Stalker just stood there while a host of Risen attacked, this happened subsequently at the next node, so I killed him <g>. I survived, of course. still it was rather disconcerting. Would love to be able to make my pets dodge, move or do something at times, considering that 40% of my damage depends on them.
Scrumptious, thanks!
Hi guys,

And that is YOUR opinion. In my opinion farming the gold to be able to get a legendary is earning it.
Technically you’re right.
And actually, since they were made available through TP that’s when they got a real solid progression system. That is, one can look at how much gold they have on them, divide that by how much a legendary is worth, multiple it by one hundred and be able to say that they’re X percent complete “making” a legendary. Solid progression right there. So… in a twisted way, there’s no need for all this scavenger hunt jazz, since everyone can tell their progress towards a legendary even today,

Besides what others have said…
This is a COMPLETELY different game from GW1. The only similarities are: the game’s name, the background lore, the races/species in game to an extent. So, it’s best not to compare the two, else you might be heavily disappointed if you were a GW1 fan.
Didn’t they say that they’re fine with cloth prices in general?
Some traits will need to be modified, like Revealed Training for instance, to accommodate for the lack of reveal under shadow form – otherwise they will become completely useless.
It would be nice if shadow form doubled or even trippled it’s (stealth’s base) duration… and/or there could be additional buffs…
Since…
Part of what makes stealth defensive is that the enemy can’t see where you are, allowing you to properly position yourself to say avoid (entirely) any attacks… Otherwise, in the instance Shadow Refugee, where they know (though, some, might not consciously acknowledge or make use of) where you are (in that circle), they can just auto-attack/AoE that circle… Which will be the same kind of problem with your proposed shadow form.
That and not being able to use stealth attacks.

(Ranged) Greatsword Master Race!
/thread
Pretty much at the same point.
Though, not too worried about it since there are other games out there.
The two deciding factors that will dictate if I will ever come back are: thief’s elite spec and “challenging” content. And, tbh, I have no hope for either of those.
Meh – who care’s about them, the early adopters/beta-testers/supporters/and the “vet” community.

The one thing I do not understand after 5 years is, why the kitten is the manifesto still on the main page?
People say that the manifesto was misinterpreted, Dev’s said, that they have made decisions that made them move away from the manifesto. Others say it was false advertising.
What I say is that watching the manifesto simply shows, how little the Dev’s could actually get in the real game from what they originally wanted there to be.
It is a truely sad story, they should delete the video from the media page.
Actually that’s a good question. Since they were so quick with the FAQ after the pre-purchase announcement, suprised they haven’t modified/deleted that page yet.
Well if nothing’s confirmed until its release, I vote for landspears!
Plot twist:
We get 1200 range land harpoon guns.
Neither a staff/spear nor a rifle.
This is why the forum needs a working search box… sigh
So much this…
Google does a better job if you specify “site:forum-en.guildwars2.com”
And I think we all remember the manifesto, but as we all know now, nothing is set in stone and nothing is off/on the table.
can’t wait for another 15 Queen Jenna’s
Or random boosters….
Or, you know… Give us the greatsword…
btw, what’s left out of utility skill types? Like mesmer got wells, ele got shouts, guard got traps… what’s left?
Hate to think warrior might get “shadowstepping” with it’s berserker elite (that might get daggers…)
Both ele and necro got shouts, so there’s no limitation on what we might get in terms of utility skills.
Oh yeah, I forgot necro’s got shouts as well.

They never said that weapon repetition is on or off the table.
I honestly think they should do one elite spec a week but combine that with one of the new maps so we can get through the info quicker.
I agree they should double up on the weekly info (though not necessarily tell us about the maps until we can go explore them). I do think players have the brain power to review more than one focused piece of information at a time. Maybe the devs don’t have the resources to monitor feedback on too many things at once?
The New Player Experience say otherwise, they think we can’t figure out most of the things.
The new player experience was focused towards new players coming from other MMOs as GW2 doesn’t use alot of the same things as other MMOs.
I don’t think “new players coming from other MMO’s” was their targeted audience… Most likely it was someone that just got into gaming and picked gw2 as their first game.

Haven’t seen a change request… YOU HAVE BEEN ADDED.
(Yes, there’s 2 lists, hell even 3. Just one is more frequently used.)

What: My Dream List for Thief Changes
Thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/My-Dream-List-for-Thief-Changes/first
Although lots of people say Berserker’s gear is the only thing worth wearing, you can still wear something slightly tankier like Knight’s gear and nobody will notice the difference.
^ yup. This is partially the reason why they’re not implementing a DPS meter. Not sure if 3rd party ones track other’s DPS.
You can probably mix and match valky and knights… If you dig long enough people have done ton of analysis for zerker vs mixed.
if only
Going to wait on our elite spec reveal… but yeah, more than likely, cya on the revenant forums boys.
Heavy armor assassin with – more than likely – more health. Oh and did I mention, heavy armor dosn’t have trenchcoats (has their own issues… like iron mini-skirts, last I recall).
…
- If it’s a matter of RNG, how hard would it have been to only allow “X” number of bounces?
…
Oh man, I loved that part. It was even too much RNG for them to handle -wowzers, that must have been A LOT of RNG.
the glass door reviews are…interesting to say the least. I would think that’d they would have someone at least checking to forums daily. It’s pretty obvious that a lot of people aren’t taking the changes very happily
I’m guessing the internal chaos kind of trumps the external ones.
That’s completely out of the teef concept, teefs are supposed to be stealthy, spies, neutralize their target and leave unoticed not some kind of budhha shaolin monk.
I think you have still not realized that Elite Specializations aren’t just plain copies of their Main Classes with expanded skill options and a new weapon, but in fact completely different gameplay concepts with changed gameplay mechanics to give the E-Spec a completely different gameplay feeling from what you received with the original Main Professions.
Plus, its THIEF, not teef , learn2spell :P
I think you haven’t realized that Elite Specialization are nothing but extensions to existing classes, and provide only unique game play through the new weapon – which is by the game’s base design (a P/D will forever play like a P/D, a D/P will forever play like a D/P, and so forth). We do get a handful of utility skills (and one heal) besides the weapon’s skill.
Plus, pretty sure it’s TEEF, not thief, learn2lingo. :P
Explain to me how dragonhunter is a simple extension of guardian plox?
New weapon. Great. Did we really need to over exaggerated it? (Well I guess yeah, you do need to sell the thing.)
Trait line that supports the weapon/skills. Cool. O well, doesn’t really effect old weapons.
New Utility/heal/elite skills. Cool. Nothing special, plus no one knows if they will be viable/meta or not, so they might be left to sit in the dust.
Virtues swapped to another-kind-of virtues… As opposed to using old ones. Might be the next biggest thing next to the new weapon.
At the end of the day, a guardian’s long bow will play like a guardian’s long bow, it won’t change… Just like the guardian’s greatsword will remain the same… now, maybe you will have a bit more options due to the handful utilties/elite/heal skills your getting, along with the option of using old or new virtues.
Now… The elite spec could have been something entirely different, where each old weapon would have had their skills changed as well – to the point of say, having a staff become a melee weapon, a greatsword becoming a casting/spell weapon – while theming it to the name “dragon hunter” or whatever else they might have chosen (in this parallel universe). Adding in 2-3 more trait lines that are optional and only spec-able when you have your elite spec on. Switch the virtues to be something completely else – like I don’t know, stealth, clones, tool belt, ANYTHING but virtues… literally turning the WHOLE kittening class upside down. Maybe add in the option of swapping weapon skills…(probably their biggest flaw in design, imho) Did they do something as grand as that?
“But ZeroDay, I think you set the expectation up too high!” – Not really. Honestly, I did think it would be something like this (just extension), or worse. They did hype it up though (gotta sell!), as if it will drastically change the class to the point of you not knowing it anymore. Just like when they used the word “MAAAASSSIVE”, it came out tiny, (don’t even remember what context they used that in) and how things are going to be moving fast with the expansion (hell I no longer believe that they will release by the end of August – yeah I know, no official release date.) – I guess it’s their perspective of things.
(edited by Zero Day.2594)
It’s a casual game, since it’s “Play how you want to play” and “Do what’s fun”. That’s all there is to it. Play it like you would play Fruit Slice on your phone.
Health tier has a lot to do with how the profession handles damage, and thief handles it by not handling it, e.i stealth, mobility, and evasion. Guardian and elementalist, the 2 that share our health pool, have an extremely good healing potential even without loading up on healing power while thief even with healing power is mediocre at recovering.
So it seems a bit strange to nerf our mobility (increasing cd of withdraw, along with some other nerfs to our defensive options) just to get us further into this dps or die theme that someone at anet made up 3 years ago. They really need to look into the opportunity costs of building thief before they so much as look at the class for the next balance patch. They don’t seem to acknowledge how badly thief is pushed into full dps which makes for an extremely boring experience when trying to break free from this “meta” bull kitten.
dps or die theme might have been be ok if other classes didn’t actually do more dmg atm while having way more survival :|

read glassdoor reports about anet if you wanna get idea hehe
Heh…
Very interesting read those, and they do make sense/align with what’s happening.
Wonder how long till this thread is closed/deleted…
(edited by Zero Day.2594)
Not going to happen. That would mean 1 instance of an entire map per-person… and as far as I’m aware they’re not the types to take technological risks…

1. Thief
Beacause:

Still many wishes need fulfillment.
No comment on engies coz maybe you don’t why it’s on the list but you put it there for the heck of it. Im glad devs don’t take these lists seriously
Oh but I think they do…
(edited by Zero Day.2594)
I was told in map chat this topic will be the petition to return ricochet.
Please fix it anet! p/p is boring without bounces.
If it’s actually a petition thread, then yeah I’m down/signing to get it back.
btw, heard via wooden potato’s that they’re planning to release minor-“balance” patches till the release of HoT – supposedly every two weeks or so… Aren’t we all just excited?
:o
I can’t make it for this …. / Won’t be in town….
again?! cmon breh
Hey! I was on the S/D day.

They want Ele nerfed and mesmer nerfed, but I say, why not nerf this.
Thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Nerf-Thief-This-vid-is-for-the-balance-team/first
Yeah they will do something about it… They will throw out a little piece of info and everyone will come running back.
He left twice cuz he has 2 accounts. Maybe 3…
Makes sense.
So, I guess bot-ers that have 15 accounts will leave 15 times?
The idea is this; you nerf something so much that it comes out buffed on the other side.
Oh another one..
Bai
It’s actually his second goodbye, his first one was 3 days ago.
kitten , he left twice.
This game must suck.
