You made a rash decision, not giving it any thought. It comes back and bites you in the behind and it’s ANet’s fault? O.o
we want to help you with that, if you delete the characters you have, you will be able to select a new home server. what again ? at the first time i read, i said to myself they can be serious, at least if i knew this when i was level 5 not 21.
I don’t want to sound too elitist, but 21 is easy to get to. If I only had one character of level 21 and my choices were reroll or pay up…I’d reroll.
The obvious quick solution is to rebind the dodge
Lol if you ever owned or own a house, or worked in landscaping, you should already hate them :P
:D
We don’t tend our lawn, late summer it’ll go completly yellow. But it looks pretty enough, and they’re basically like ‘roaches of the plant world, they’ll survive anything.
Previous MMO I came from (I will not name it, it doesn’t deserve the free advertisement) had a rouge type class that could be specced to a pretty decent Archer, was the best ranged single target DPS in the game. The pet class was more akin to a shaman/druid.
I can’t be asked to dig up the source…but ANet said that everything in AC actually counts as ghosts. This include ghosts, gravelings, spiders and troll. Even though some obviously aren’t ghosts, for the sake of the potion they’re all given ghost stats.
I’d guess CoE is the same, even if destroyers, husks, inquest and golems don’t look like undead to you, the game counts them as undead.
Since there’s no [img] tag…
Imagine an image of Spongebob sitting in a box drawing a rainbow with his hands with the caption Who cares.
Can’t compare it to real world. I hate it too, but this is the reality.
Because people are saps for gambling. People will want these skins, and won’t let loosing a lot of money stand in the way. As long as people do this, expect to see more of it…
Skills that evade should now say so in the tooltip (and maybe the duration). It’s just a tooltip fix
Skins in random boxes…AGAIN?! Feels like a slap in the face. If people are complaining boxes are useless…take the hint and just remove them?
Nerf to quickness doesn’t bother me since all get it. And the stun break on QZ is very welcome, basically a free stun break for me.
Buff to GS, I guess it’ll help somewhat in dredge fractal…
Shared AR with pet, while it was about time it’ll matter little.
Pretty dissapointing patch, neither good nor bad, just like…nothing…
Judging by the current FaF arc, I wouldn’t put too much hope on it revitilising the zone. Maybe the first 3 days…
I still go there to harvest, though I might stop with that. After removing the rich Orichalcum vein the zone became truly deserted.
If you mean real Giants, I know only of a handful, 2 friendly and 2 group champions. If giants include larger creatures like Ogres and Ettins, that’s another thing, and a pet could definetly take them.
1 of the friendly giant wanders into a cave (to visit his dead friends in an event), I don’t know exactly where the event starts, I know where it ends…But you could chalk it up to luring him into a cave-in?
EDIT:

if it helps…

I would believe they are indeed WvW events, otherwise I have no idea what other events they could possibly be talking about…
PvP
Don’t play
WvW
Don’t play
PvE (all forms)
2 permanent wolves. Not because of mechanics, but because of aesthetics.
I still believe that having your pet’s function/stats tied to it’s look is dumb when you decided to decouple it on armor…
You can climb and jump over the walls that appear.
We’re well aware of it, and I feel fine with it. The walls that appear can be random, and I’m always in favor of player ingenuity to solve time sensitive problems.

The wording doesn’t seem to indicate intention at all. And you do realise you can fail doing it normally as well. And before: “But if you don’t know about it, and it goes slower because people insist on doing it”, I doubt the first ever time doing it normally went off without a hitch.
I realise what you’re saying, that it might be an exploit, I’m agreeing with you if you read my first post. But a flawless skip still is faster.
Think? If everyone knows what to do it is faster. I’m not saying you should do it. I do it if the group is doing it (usually is). I do believe that it is not intended and might be fixed…might not. Remember when it was discovered that you could jump the walls in swamp? Not intended, but left anyway because it was a creative solution.
If I’m not mistaken the armor states clearly Bind on Aquire. The window (thanks to similar events) asks you if you are sure you want buy it (should tell you it’s a serious purchase). All in all checks and measures are in place, and it was your error in this case. It’s unfortunate, but you’ll just have to suck it up.
Oh my…
Imaging seeing those glowing eyes in the dark.
I agree, she looks creepy :/
Wait? You choose a Ranger for JP-alt? Really?
Just wanted to add…
47/250 for Infinite Light
…yay?
I Live in EU, I fail to see the problem
4:00 would mean 13:00 for me, ie the middle of the day (not saying that would bother me, but I’m sure it would bother other). The reset is set to 0:00 GMT (or UTC), midnight the international reference time, very fitting in my opinion.
To be honest we need less particle effects…not more. Ever tried spotting Kholer’s tell while he is (all):
- burning
- burning (guardian blue flames)
- surrounded by mesmer butterflies
- being attacked by Twilight
?
How about no? Bots in a multiplayer game is…wrong. If you can’t get players to team up naturally…well then you’ve failed
[…]ANet were going to give everyone their own side kick, that leveled up much like heroes, and acted just like heroes, but we could only have one and if we for some reason didn’t want one then the player would get a buff.
Wait…am I in the ranger forums? …No, just seemed familiar
That’s not a solution, you’re right you don’t see the problem.
people paid for the wolf and want to actually see it more. Imagine getting a legendary, but it looked like the precursor 87% of the time.
I think (s)he means each character have swapable armor sets like weapon sets.
Necroing this thread to say…Yes, it’s terrible. Really only works with the corresponding chest piece, really offputting
- Unbind backwards (S), you don’t want to use it (or bind they key to about face)
- Bind the turns (A/D) to strafe instead
- Strafe and turn the camera (with mouse 2) towards your target
You will now move away from your target at regular speed and retain offensive capabilities
Note: it’s not really necessary to rebind (A/D) since mouse 2 will make them strafe anyway, but handy if you need to let go the mouse shortly
Did anyone actually listen to the video? Or did everyone just go “AAH” after they said buff and longbow in the same sentence? They said they felt longbow damage was fine, and want to buff survivabilty.
On topic:
- Tooltip fixes
- Shared AR
- GS buff
I doubt anything more.
Yes! They have to realise the more they sell, the more poeple buy, the less space they get…the less they’re willing to buy the next batch. Full circle, or so.
With regards to the 90/10 switch…
Maybe not that severe, but I’d welcome a change in that direction.
When I picked this profession I knew fully well I’d have a pet, but still I choose Ranger and not Beastmaster, I expected pet to be more of a utility.
(obviously speccable to beastmaster for those who wish)
I’m assuming you can’t drink them all one after another. That’s the only reason I can think of warranting a complaint. In which case I think ANet might be one or more steps ahead of you
A Guildie on his Necro got not one but two of these drops in his first 3 runs….but nobody else got one yet besides him.
Ah the joy of RNG, ain’t it grand?
It is, I just had to pin down some thoughts about the pet that’d make it more…enjoyable.
AI
No question this needs some work, but 2 things I’d like to see ASAP is:
1) If the pet is standing in a red circle, it’ll attempt to move out of the circle.
2) Position. Melee will attempt to flank the target, Ranged will try to keep the range.
Traits
Rangers always have a pet, but actually taking full advantage of it requires one to spec into beastmastery. I’d like to see that every trait line increased the pets relevant stats for each trait line. Beastmastery can keep the all stats boost, since they focus more heavily on the pet. The pet is supposed to be an integral part of the ranger, so don’t settle for half-polished utility dependancies and traits.
Pet F2 and autos
I’d like to see that F2 is always some form of CC (daze, stun, fear, knockback, knockdown, immobilize, cripple or chill) or other supportive utility. And that the auto casts has no CC (maybe immobilize, cripple or chill). This would mean we always have an on demand CC or support, and the pet wouldn’t randomly interfere with defiant stacking.
Mood
We need more moods than passive or aggressive. At least on in the middle where the pet attacks when I do, but doesn’t retaliate.
Appearance
It’s weird in a game where we can choose the look of our armor and weapons with the appropriate stats, yet the pet has to look like…whatever. I’d like all pets to have a setup of choosable modes. For example power-crit, condition, tank-support. so I could run high dps wolves, and not be forced to run cats or birds.
Closing
That’s all I wanted to put to print for now. No doubt this thread will be high-jacked by the pet-optional-vs-required-discussion. So I thought I’d address it right here, both sides are wrong and right and incredibly stubborn, but in the end ANet decides. But have fun~
BUMP
I want more ppl to see this :]
No no no!
Is this a joke? I’d rather just NPC my ascended rings then, more profitable…
Ascended should just be regular salvagable. Period!
I thought this seemed familiar…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Hidden-log-on
Apart from missing a snipe type shot and a few other tweaks the Longbow still feels more right to me than the Shortbow. I don’t actually mind the distance penalty, I enjoy positioning…to bad ANet hamstringed that by getting the random invoulnerable, or missing out on all the boons going on in melee range :/
So I’m the only one who feels this way?
Maybe I should’ve posted it in the Norm subforum
Ah well, rawhide pants looks nice anyway
I spent ~1.5 million Karma and reinvested all karma I got back, got
- 11 Badazar Priests
- 1 Endless Tonic
- ~150 Obsidian Shards
- a fair amount of Lodestones
- ~20 gold in trash
Considering I can’t do much else with Karma I don’t regret it
I don’t know, before Search and Resque felt more reliable. Now it occasionally fails to ress. I think it used to work with a downed pet before as well, which was better. I’ve dropped it for a number of reasons…
- Pet must be close to you
- Pet must be close to an ally
- Unreliable, even if the pet reaches
- No priority on players, will ress stupid NPCs
- Too long cooldown to merit the poor performance
In my opinion just another useless slot filler.
Short answer: Nope
Long answer: Just as many people worked hard in PvE and look shabby in PvP, and would probably like the reverse. Thing is if you PvP it should show with nice stuff for higher ranks, similary, if you PvE it should show with nice skins for hard work. Want to look good in PvE, go work for it!
With the introduction of special pve skins for pvp
I don’t recall the statement 100% correctly, but I interpreted as certain PvE only skins were given PvP variants.
Game must be doing great if you start complaining about this…
Tell me, what advantage does more achievement points have? O.o
Can’t be asked to find the source now, but ANet response is that January Monthly would not give Laurels anyway. You’ve not missed anything, calm down.
I read the response, how was it not clear? They have no plans for Russian localization, but if they do they’ll let everyone know it’s on the way. Sort of a “Don’t call us, we’ll call you”.
Have you tried WvW? Sounds exactly like you’re suggesting that.
@Cherokeewill nope, they scrapped the “invited” part
I ran with full compassion gear. On full out heals it’s not very noticible, but it more than doubles regen ticks (base 130, I had 300). The problem for me is that a lot of the regens I produced didn’t actually use my compassion >.< (traits, runes, etc) so ultimately I dropped it :/
Funny…I’ve transmuted backpieces on multiple occasions…including the engineer backpack. Backpieces with stats have upgrade slot as well.
You are of course aware that if one item is level 80 you will need a fine stone?
This again? OP wandered into a town and saw all light wearers in skimpy armor…
Just because everyone wears it doesn’t mean it’s the only armors that exists…it just means people made a choice…
Again…take a look at the link below
http://www.gw2armor.com/human/female/light_list.php
plenty of covering options there…
