Exactly! He should be able to react to the pets action and adapt on the fly, that is action based combat. I’ve been advocating pet skin/functionality decoupling for the longest time now.

I think that opening a jumping puzzle chest should give you a debuff, like the Thief’s revealed dubuff, that prevents opening the chest again until it goes away, which it would do only when you leave the jumping puzzle area. If that happens, then I can see much better rewards for open-world puzzles actually happening.

- Jump to Heart of the Mists and then back.
- Jump to WvW and then do a char switch.
…I don’t care since:
a) Choice of pet doesn’t determine skill of player
b) Any pet is bad in dungeons anyway (what I play mostly)

I used all my savings that i’d accumulated since GW2 launch to buy a bunch of rare’s to throw into the Mystic toilet.
So that must mean you bought a bunch rares or mats to make rares…of the tp…from tp flippers among others…
Rangers are pretty fed up, and I fear constructive threads will just be trolled to shreds. In any case…
1) Make pet optional, dead serious on this one. AI will never reach a good level.
2) Overhaul the traits. I need only point out trapper traits in skirmishing…
3) Look over utilities. This isn’t a ranger specific problem, all classes need a util-lookover!

Which armor weights are you talking about? Medium armor is almost only pants and coats. Yes, I’d like to see some more light pants, and something other than medium coats.

I’d wager it’s a combination of gameplay and resources. Nice trees will have a lot of polygons, especially if it would have nice foliage. If you’re ok with the trees looking like this it could probably be done.

In my opinion having anything obstructive on the auto attack is unacceptable. Any other attack I’d be fine with leap locks, proximity/distance/positional penalties, etc, because then it’s a calculated risk…

Of course! I spend a great deal of effort picking a style for my characters, it’s only natural that I will also check out my peers. A good mix’n’match will beat almost any full set hands down, and I’ve seen some good combos. Also seen some really bad combos, and also some very plain sets ([cough] CoF [/cough]).
100 picks? Do you realize how cheap that is? No I don’t think so. Keys cost a little less than 4 gold right now, that’ll be around 4.5k worth of picks. I wouldn’t hope if I were you, if they did follow up on your advice I’d imagine they’d require 10k picks, 25k, something along those lines…(think holographic wings for zhaitaffy)

I’m actually wondering if anyone would care if they did a complete rework of the class. I mean change EVERYTHING, Pet mechanic, Traits, Weapons, Skills. Boom, Ranger is gone, enjoy your new class, the Thingamajig, it does stuff.

I tried out the spirits in the new dungeon. I summoned the Sun Spirit and it literally died at the first group of mobs from a ranged attack (I think) before I finished summoning the other two spirits.
I also thought spirits were squishy until i watched Chopps spirit dungeon video. The trick is to place them so far from your group that they are out of range to give any benefits.

On another note I’ll now be running pets in permanent passive, they may just be more useful that way
the “bug” is not only with 1handed—>2handed, if you simply unequip an item by dragging it off it has the same behaviour, goin to first slot available..

i know 18 slots are usefull but ya know, relics are useless themself more than gold at a certin point, so beter than th 2g for these boxes.. nonetheless would have ben grat to give us that sorting facilitation!
Yes, gold > relics. But I find the functionality of the invis bag so much better than the exotic one that it’s worth it.
PS: proposed solution to the weapon-swap problem.
When you switch one item for another (be it weapon, armor or trinket) the worn item will end up in the space where the “new” was, they do really just switch places. The only time this doesn’t work is when you switch to a 2H weapon from 2 1H weapons, in which case one of the items will end up in the first available slot in the bag and the other as described above. For this reason, yes, I do find the exotic fractal box useless. Invisible will work so much better because you can not accidentally sell from it and it won’t sort etc. 18-slot invis bags are “cheap”, and you only loose out on 2 slots. I use 1 invis last, 1 rare 2nd last (this one is usefull) and then just fill it up with masterwork fractal bags which are silly cheap 20 slot bags…
It’s not locked behind RNG…don’t you dare complain now! As previously stated if they cost 800 gems that’s ~25g, maybe up towards 30g during the rush to get it first. Cultural T3 sets are 119g…If it’s worth it, it’s worth it, otherwise you don’t have to buy it. Simple as that.
Price is fine. T1 and T2 are the “affordable” sets. For T3 you have to ask yourself “Do I really think it’s worth it?”. If you then find yourself thinking “Man, I really want it.”, then it’s probably worth it and you start working for it! Same thing if you’re only in it for the title, if it’s worth it you do it, otherwise not. It’s not much harder than that…
I never understood what the home instances were good for in the first place. Why do they have to be instanced? Anybody know?
Different characters from your personal story take up residence in your home instance. It’s a reflection of the choices you made, therefore it needs to be instanced so that when you enter it’s loaded up with your settings.
Go to non scaled server —> get a ton of loot by doing high level content far quickly due to not scaling down --> transfer back to a regular server —> disrupt the economy by having large supplies of goods that are considered expensive.

I suggested this around 6 months ago, it has then been suggested again. It is akin to actually giving tokens a 16 bit integer. The reason they don’t just “double up” I think is because they’d have to do it to everything, and still cap it at 250, that’s a lot of wasted bits…
One thing that I enjoyed doing when leveling was bugging the transmutation. You keep the anonymity hood on you, and have like a mask you dropped. You then transmute the hood looks onto the better stats straight from the hero panel (without taking it off), if all goes well you should now be wearing both pieces and it looks epic! It’s not persistant though…

Not saying it’s perfect, just that along those lines are most likely. Sigils and traits mostly now have hidden cooldowns, so that doesn’t seem like the reason.
Go with your level 80 exo to a starter area and kill some mobs. Now roll a fresh char (same prof) and kill the same mobs. There’s progression.
And honestly without downscaling they’d just turn off loot and xp gain anyway (likely rewards from events as well) just because you could 1-shot anything anyway, and then what would the point be?
“To help friends” Ah, if they’d be evil they’d deny xp to anyone if the mobs was touched by a high-level, ripe for griefing. Creates more problems than it solves really…

Ya they really nerf longbow hard right now. You can’t even use longbow on the clffside fractal. I’m not joking: every single attack bugs out and goes invulnerable. So if you can hit a harpy, but a harpy can’t hit you: invuln. Even if you close the gap so you are in range of harpy: invuln.
What the hell is the point of having 1500 range on longbow if you can’t even use it on cliffside? And now they want us to use longbow more? Shortsighted if you ask me. Fix bugs then change weapons IMHO.
The invulnerability mechanic isn’t a bug, Anet doesn’t want you safely shooting mobs when they can’t fight back although the invulnerability is supposed to wear off when the mob can attack you.
In any case, I doubt Anet will fix that so I will take weapon balance changes any day.
Think he meant uncategorized fractal, where the harpies can most definetly hit you, but if you’re unlucky to get aggro they go invouln because they can not path to you (note they’ll still pelt you full of arrows). Not a major issue per say since melee is safer there anyway, but that could be percieved as a bug.
Arbitrary NPC factions is one thing I do not miss. Just for the sake of doing arbitrary quest to get “faction loyalty” to get access to gear…kind of like renown hearts, only way worse. Now if faction loyalty quests actually altered more than 1 faction and some in a positive manner and some in a negative manner, and if said factions actually had something somewhat important/useful tied to them…then we’d be talking!
(Factions just for the sake of getting a “hero” is a no)
