Are you trying to craft with the materials you gather during regular play? That’s really hard to do if you’re on your first character.
Unless you have some gold to buy materials with, doing this with one character is nearly impossible. I ran 5 characters up at about the same pace and was able to craft some useful equipment along the way, but until you get some resources (gold, gathered mats or both), you are going to run into roadblocks with crafting.
Those guides are a good way to plan some crafting and you will find that cooking is the anomaly of the crafting professions and artificer is the oddball weapon craft.
My suggestion is to run the Champ train to get your magic find up. If it’s low the whole game seems to be a drag.
I went from 100+% some went down from 300% down to 30% – either make the clothes and armor and salvage them or do the trains and salvage them that way until your magic find is better.
You will make money eventually but it takes time – it took some of us quite a bit of work to get to even 50 gold…

I have issues with a middle of the month “end” to what will be very important to some players, let me try to explain.
Many people live month to month – this game has been a miracle to those of us who can’t afford $15.00 or more a month for an ongoing game – we live simply, many of us don’t even own a credit card any longer – our pay is getting smaller – our bills aren’t.
The military will have issues since they are paid at the end of the month – and many will be stretched to buy a virtual item until the first of any month.
I have issues with it as I get paid once a month as well – my decisions seem to be made for me – and for others – because of the time limit put on this particular great “offer” that many will never be able to make.
I’ve spent a bit of cash for items that are worth it but I didn’t do it in the middle of the month when I had to choose between food, gas, or any other necessity for a virtual item.
Devs, please, consider “ending” any great “offers” to the 2nd or even 5th of the month so that you can maximize sales AND not leave so many out in the cold.
Thanks for the great game (bugs notwithstanding)
Had another idea, Alternate character voices( i have 2 male humans and i wish 1 had a different voice)
I’d like a chance to choose my voice – one register for all races, some monotone, are annoying beyond measure.
Why isn’t Anet adding to the voices like they are adding to the Lion’s Arch art???
Fun thread
.
Keep the talking going folks . Not everything can be done.. but also not everything has been suggested yet. Of course we love to know what you’d love to play.
And we get funny stuff like Taco’s, Waffles, and Clippy. <3
Sylvari kids… quaggan carrying a seed pod?.. just sayin it’s not impossible.
Ah, but no mention of the dragon…
So many of us want what we didn’t have – access to the cool art, items, gear that WAS GW1.
So I have stuck around and only play WvW… Now we have Bloodlust back which allows Points for Stomps. Oh wait, they just use a hack to prevent stomps /congratulations… Have had several enemies where I “stomp” (channels all way, char jumps and drops flag) enemy just continues healing up. 3 stomps in row, unaffected by it. So I try another enemy, same thing. So not only does the enemy out number us 100 to 1. (current scores 125,000 | 20,000| 19,000), but they also have to resort to hacking. Good game… This is why EVERY MMORPG needs an in-game CSM/GameMaster which answers Reports… Also, Why in the world, after a whole year of hacking/exploiting is there no Report Option for EXPLOIT/Hacking
Edit: DPS’ing kills them, but no Points for that.
Some are saying it is server lag…
Uh, not when it happens to others and the framerates don’t change…
How about a little reality here?
WvW needs help in many ways – like being hit through a wall that isn’t down YET – doesn’t matter which side you are on, the other side can grab you???
The “anti-stomp” needs attention to find out where it is coming from – and if it’s “lag” then how are so many players becoming “able” to do this?
Oh, and then there’s the rage quitter. who when he realizes that he’s not winning a fight will just go poof and there goes MORE points.
WvW is a great place to level in a zerg but don’t try to live in there, the bugs will drive you batty.
In zerg WvW, sword/shield is nothing more than a escape weapon set. You jump in, switch to your damaging melee weapon set and GTFO with shield stance + Savage leap. It is also used as a chasing set because Shield bash and cripple is really strong.
Still waiting on the build – link to the full build would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Easy dungeon. make it wis random pug party 2 necros 2 elem and guard in 35 min…. nee 2 buff
I don’t see Rangers in there… I don’t see Mesmers…
This game hates certain characters and it shows in dungeons and WvW.
Are you in third grade and not able to spell yet?
I cannot seem to do the new path for whatever reason. Everytime I get to the Slick and Sparki fight, my entire computer crashes. I’ve tried lowering EVERYTHING to to lowest it can go, still does it. I don’t understand why this happens. I can lower the levels on everything and be able to stand in a zerg without my computer crashing, but a simple boss fight and I crash? And this seems to only be happening to me
Run a command line window and type in the following:
msconfig
Look at the many things that are running in the “background” and turn most of them off.
Read each entry carefully – slide the window open a bit and see where or what each entry is and what program seems to be controlling it.
Turn off all unessential items in the startup of msconfig and you will have a cleaner machine period.
If you haven’t done maintenance on your computer; defragging, malware scans, etc, you might want to do those too and do them on a regular basis for the health of your computer.
Barring any of these or all of them not working, I’d think about getting a new video card… soon.
(computer expert type over 25 years)
it took you 4 hrs to finish this dungeon?seriously?
How long did it take you? How many times? How many groups have you been in and what were the configurations?
YES, it DOES take three to FOUR hours to finish this dungeon.
I’ve attempted this dungeon 3 times (well, technically 6, but 3 of those ended when my internet decided to be a jerk and die early on so they barely count).
First time it took about 2.5 hours to make it to the final room. Party whipped against the final boss about 5 times, someone left the party and everyone got kicked.
Second time it took an hour and a half to make it to Slick and Sparki. Ended up leaving because I ran out of time and had to get off the computer.
Third time took about 2 hours to reach the final boss room. Generators glitched and stopped spawning holograms, so we took another hour (or more) to kill the generators by hand. Wiped against the boss 3 times, party member left, party kicked.
All 3 of those times there were at least 3 people who had run the dungeon and knew what they were doing (and I had done research on it prior, so even though my first time I hadn’t done it I knew it for the most part).
Maybe if EVERYONE knows it by heart it can be done in a somewhat reasonable amount of time. But without full knowledge by everyone involved its just a huge time sink. And I’m not convinced that even if you know what you’re doing its going to be smooth every single time, the dungeon itself is still difficult even if you know what to expect.
Either way, all I know is that I’ve spent 10+ hours attempting to do this (I don’t even want all the achieves, just enough to get the Slickpack) and I’ve not had success yet. I’ve got 8 / 10, so at this point I’m really strongly considering just using dailys to get the last 2 and saying “F the dungeon”. I’m tired of spending hours on end, wiping on the final boss a few times, and ended up out of the dungeon.
I wish I could mail this directly to the devs.
It says what so many of us are saying and bantering about the servers.
I don’t have a guardian or warrior – so guess who isn’t “wanted” in the dungeon in the FIRST place?
Hey guys, Twilight Assault is amazing, have some great mechanics and is very pretty, BUT please, don’t make it in such a way it can take up to 4 hours to complete it (and that ONLY if no one rage quits and breaks the party)…. I don’t think it’s difficult, but small things like making the oozes green (so you could heal them) would make it a little bit better (and provide an alternative way to complete it if the party is having trouble in fully running it).
I play GW2 since lunch and still trying to find courage to face Arah’s long paths…. I’m no high school student that can spend 6~8 hours playing all day long. Please, take that into consideration for following content (Queen Gauntlet was near perfect, challenging and fast).
It has been taking 3-4 hours to complete this nightmare of a dungeon that MANY will never finish.
7 out of 7 attempts, the party leader has left while attempting this new dungeon path.
Usually during the extremely frustrating goo gate rubbish.I admire you thinking outside the box for dungeon ideas.. but not only are dungeons extremely unrewarding for their sheer frustration, but this new one forces people to become rage quitters.
All I get in response is.. run it with friends, run it with your guild..
This is a perfect example of how the LFG tool is useless unless you reward players for pugging and reaching the end without quitting.
Just had to get that off my chest…
Carry on…
Oh… I ran it with guildies. One warrior and all the rest “light armor” toons. Not funny and didn’t build our confidence in ONE ANOTHER.
Big problem – there were three of us who had not done this dungeon before – and didn’t know that it was a three to four hour marathon!
NO ONE who has a family, children, a JOB or even a LIFE can do three hours at a time.
Anet, you didn’t think about anyone but the hardcore gamer, your warriors and your guardians – because that’s what is going around on our server – Ft. Aspenwood – if you aren’t a warrior or guardian – the stupid thing will wipe on you more percent of the time than ever necessary.
This isn’t an achievement; this is sheer, unadulterated torture.
Bump, agree on Flesh Golem.
Does it go all over the place? Yes.
Has it saved me more times than I can count? YES!!!!
If you have not been playing long and not too invested in your characters you can delete them and transfer to another server for free. IMPORTANT – Put EVERYTHING in your bank first before doing so. Your coin and other currency will remain in your wallet even after deleting you characters.
If you choose to do so I would suggest Tarnished Coast. It has a very good community.
Excuse me, but don’t listen to anyone who says you can transfer for free, it simply isn’t true – it would cost me more than the cost of another copy of the game to “transfer”.
If it that empty, I’d ask Anet why they aren’t just putting lower population servers together and getting rid of the empty ones…
My wife is not the best gamer, let me state that now. Her favorite game was World of Warcraft, around the end of Burning Crusade/beginning of the Frozen Throne era. Even she thinks the game is too easy and “Fiser Price’d” now. She and I have been looking for a new MMO to play together for a long time now. We liked Rift, but it’s story was weak and failed to pull is in, so we dumped that. The Secret World was interesting, but the poor community killed it for her, and she’s not that into modern style games anyway. The Star Wars MMO was good, she liked that one, but she doesn’t really get into SciFi, so it failed to hold her interest.
So now I’m here. I like this game. I think it’s very interesting. But the lack of the “Holy Trinity” worries me a bit.
You see, my wife loves being the Tank. She also loves being the Healer. She is under the impression that she is not a good DPS because she doesn’t have the best reflexes. She likes to do more than just mash a combo as fast as possible until things die. If we were to play this, would it be possible for her to fulfill a role as a “Tank” or “Healer”?
She loves a game with a good story that will keep her running along. She found WoW’s story cheesy at times, but generally liked that it always had things going on and usually had her rushing along to learn what happened next. One quest, involving an Orc that yelled “Smell what the Lok’Tar is cooking” or something like that, had her in tears because of how a character in the questline died.
So I would like to know if this game, one without “WoW-like” quests would still have a story that she can get pulled into. She loves exploring, I should add. (I’m also curious how you know when you’re done with a particular area if there’s no quests or something similar to guide you to the next area.)
Those are my questions to you, good forum people. Can you help me?
If she gets interested she will get better regardless.
I am not “the best player”, indeed I am one of the worst players in GW2 and I am a woman.
I am not bad because I am a woman – I am not as good as others because I lack others to teach me more. The only way I learn is by example and by-rote doing it myself over and over until I get it “right”.
Rotations will help her if she gets key happy.
Ranger and Necro are two of the easiest levelers – both have “pets” – the Ranger’s being fun to go “find”.
If she is interested in gaming AND chatting, this is prob a game should would enjoy.
Being in a non-judging guild would certainly help, especially when you aren’t around to help.
It all comes down to her interest and your non-judging attitudes – I went through three guilds before I found one that doesn’t seem to be as judging as the others.
Good luck, let us know what happens.
I dont understand, how the you all Love Champion Zergs but hate the concept of Raid Dungeons.
Can somebody explain the reasoning behind this?
I see many players joining and asking about the Champion Zerg train, to get their gear grind on.
Yet pre-release you all were saying how much you hated Raid Dungeons for the same reason.
they both consist of large groups of players, tackling a powerful NPC to get some PvE loot rewards or faction grind.
IMO, Raid Dungeons offer a different level of challenges that these open world fights simply cant do.
Why like the Zerg but hate the Raid Dungeons?!
Since by definition we don’t have raid dungeons in GW2, I can’t even compare the two…
Why groups of up to 25 aren’t in dungeons as raids, I have no idea unless you meant something else altogether?
Runescape……………
Your posting should be banned. That just isn’t funny.
.
Im not actually basing this on one single video.
http://www.warcry.com/news/view/127267-Guild-Wars-2-State-of-the-Game-WarCry-Interview.2
“Guild Wars 2 isn’t about vertical gear progression. It’s about being out in the world. We don’t want the gear grind. The gear grind prevents players from playing together, and fragments the community. We would rather give people more different things to do and give them non-mechanical rewards.”
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-design-manifesto/
Because, like Guild Wars before it, GW2 doesn’t fall into the traps of traditional MMORPGs. It doesn’t suck your life away and force you onto a grinding treadmill; it doesn’t make you spend hours preparing to have fun rather than just having fun; and of course, it doesn’t have a monthly fee.
It all gets back to our basic design philosophy. Our games aren’t about preparing to have fun, or about grinding for a future fun reward. Our games are designed to be fun from moment to moment.
Along with the video and its entirely reasonable for people to believe no gear threadmill. And this is what Anet was laureled for by the community, and they sure as hell made no effort to correct anyone. Untill ascended gear came along and it turned out to be a stat increase.
http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/11/15/arenanet-guild-wars-2-ascended-backlash/
Our goal is to ensure we have a proper progression for players from Exotic up to Legendary without a massive jump in reward between the two.
That was the idea behind Ascended, atleast the official version of it. But, as the article also pointed out, this does not explain why there is suddenly a stat increase.
O’Brien comments
“I hope we’ve been clear that Guild Wars 2 is not a game with virtually no stat progression in it like Guild Wars was,”
Well obviously not. Or the community wouldnt hit them with such a severe backlash, or praise them before all this for not having a gear progression. And when looking through the earlier sources (pre-release/shortly post release) it was never stated that they even considered a gear progression. Infact, it the exact opposite was lead to believe.
And this still doesnt wipe away my second concern of how skins are going to keep costing you money for continued use.
My hero! has every single promise laid out piece by piece.
That kind of dedication in making sure that trolls have no leg to stand on is why I keep coming back to the forums.
Your comments are not falling on ALL deaf ears. WvW is a gear grind. When I get my necro to 80 with exotics, as you say, I will be severely disadvantaged, so much so that I will need to spend laurels, gold and more to get geared so I don’t end up, again, running from the waypoint over and over and OVER again – and then giving up on WvW altogether ’cause I, like many, are tired of the grinding and the “I am so much more geared than you, so I can one-shot or half-hit you and you will be dead, not just downed.” overgeared monsters who dance on our dead bodies and tell us how useless we are.
Pardon me while I use this spot for my rant. It’s as good as any.
NSP is currently ranked I think 16th. We’re fighting against a rank 10 server. Now let me remind you of what the dev post was when this whole sever ‘scrambling’ came out.
As servers play the same servers over and over again, our ranking data becomes less accurate and therefore a lot less useful. So what are we going to start doing about it? The simple answer is we are going to scramble the matchups from week to week so that while worlds will still be fighting worlds of similar skill level, we’ll be a bit more lenient about who can play against whom.
So this whole thing was started because the bean-counters were getting inaccurate data. And I’m guessing this league system is just another way of them saying they want better numbers to crunch.
Well here’s a fact regarding the current matching system and the league system if it’s just as bad: I play this game for FUN. Not stats, not ego, not loot… FUN. When our server is perpetually put in the position of being a ‘Cinderella’ server, it’s not FUN. When I don’t have FUN, my wallet slams shut and I uninstall the game. I don’t play or invest in games where I constantly get roflstomped. Don’t get me wrong, I like a challenge. But they’re assuming that by matching servers against nearly impossible odds that, instead of just being challenged, they’ll ‘learn’.
World vs. World is a lot about tactics, and when you fight the same worlds with the same tactics you never really get to learn anything new and adapt your strategy. This is your chance for your world to rally together, recruit more people, and try to overthrow a server above you.
Here’s a lesson from psychology 101 for them. If you want a rat to ‘learn’ it’s way through a maze, slapping him in the head and putting him back in the starting spot is the least effective way to do so.
Furthermore, where they get the idea that WvW’ers are going to be able to go to Orr and somehow convince PvE’ers that getting their * kicked in WvW is more FUN than ‘winning’ at PvE is beyond me. Again, basic psychology.
So here’s my note to the devs. You can sit there and stare at your spreadsheet all day and admire your ‘ranking data’, you can claim you understand group psychology and say that losing is good for them, but at the end of the week when my server has it’s **** stomped yet again and I cease to have FUN, you might instead want to look at your balance sheet instead of your server stats.
After a year of being stomped on by players who outman me, outgun me and out magic me to death, literally in WvW, I not only agree with your posting, I believe it is one of the most cogent postings I have ever seen in a forum – any forum – not just a gaming forum.
We are here for fun. This is a hobby for many and as a hobby, fun is our goal. We stop playing when we are not having fun any longer and that is exactly what you are saying – we’re going to get psychologically beaten down by WvW world matches that are NOT “similar in skills” and if Anet can’t even keep to their own words and promises, WvW is done before it ever gets fixed.
Everyone hears them.
Most are tired of the same old lines from the NPCs in Lion’s Arch.
How about doing something pretty darn simple;
Every single NPC that DOES talk could be talked to but only a chance of having them be willing to trade.
Yes , trade.
Take for example the poor merchant in the Black Lion’s Trading Post – everyday he asks for Charr Iron so he can fulfill orders from pretty darn desperate customers, but yet day after day, month after month and now year after year, this poor merchant whom we have all heard (unless we have turned off dialog in our sound options – sadly) and all have either gotten tired of hearing it OR like ME you are wanting to help so much it really hurts.
Anet – time to give Lion’s Arch life – I believe that ALL NPCs that DO and CAN talk be willing to, once in a while, trade or talk to us or even gamble with us – so many little mini activities can be added and they can be chance driven.
It would add a fun twist to a what can become a very static experience in Lion’s Arch.
Cheers!

A little something we picked up from those tier 1 match ups we keep losing. Guess Zerg balling the map, always fighting under siege, and never engaging in any fight without a 5 to 1 advantage is rubbing off on our PuGs.
We can’t take credit for developing this tactic, that honor goes to SoR.
rofl blaming it on SoR….classic. Sorry we don’t spawn camp.
Show us on the doll where SoR touched u.That is a lie, SoR spawned camp TC extensively the week of January 26th.
TC tears are like juice to me. Doesn’t taste particularly good, but you just want to keep drinking it. And they’re sweet.
Poet – WvW isn’t about just the fighting, sometimes we get pure poetry.
Same time it took you to level from 20 to 50.
So not true.
The amount of experience points is not the same from 20-50 as it is from 50-80.
Kittenkittenkittenkittenkitten!!!!!
I thought people went into dungeons because they were challenging and fun.
people do this in mmo’s?
Listen, while I agree that’s part if it most people and myself included go in it for the loots. When there isn’t any loots other than dungeon tokens, why bother doing it if its tedious and long and has the same reward as easier and shorter paths (aka tokens).
This is a really good game but when it comes to rewarding players with loot ANET doesn’t have a clue what to do.
If you’re gonna put out content that is challenging, then you better reward people for doing it (other than just a silly back item), or most people are only going to do it once or twice and then never do it again.
Why do you think diablo 3 failed as hard as it did? (there are many reasons) but the biggest one is because it was challenging and yet it didn’t reward its players. Nobody want’s to do challenging content for little or no epic loots. That’s what these games are all about, so when you add hard content to the game but drop the ball on the loots, nobody is gonna freaking do the content because its not worth it. These are the fundamental facts of any RPG/MMO.
it’s not just one place or one dungeon, the loot across the board seemed to have been nerfed along with our magic find.
After finally getting my MF up a bit I found I was getting less “bad” loot (not salable on the BLTP) but still far more than I was ever getting before magic find was taken from us and replaced with this garbage and time consuming quest to replace what was there in the first place.
Bad loot; crumbling bones, broken lockpicks, GRAVEL, is ridiculous, totally ridiculous. Especially when one’s magic find is a 76% base and even higher with mf food.
The lack of a decent loot algorithm is kicking this games tail end.
We did the dungeon, killed the final boss and we got stuck in the boss room and cant progress. please test your content before you release it I’m tired of these bugs and if possible refund all of us who got this bug! The dungeon is a blast but this bug just got the better of me and the whole party.
EDIT: Just ignore this thread I nerdrage too hard.
We love you for expressing what so many of us feel about this game.
They need better beta testers – and they need to listen to players out here a lot faster than they do about bugs and other aspects of the game that have really gotten out of hand *cough*coughcashstore.
Instant Trait Reset?
Anet, are you really trying to charge players real money for this item? Maybe if it was 20 gems for 1, but 70. When it is already cheap to chance traits in cities.
Some things should be free – retraiting is one of them.
I can’t agree with any other “methodology” since the builds change so often, it seems like we are retraiting monthly or more often.
Least you didnt have a hunter aoeing both the whole time…
That would be something I would address before going into in every dungeon – ranged need to be instructed or at the very least given an expectation not to pull more than one, not to AOE more than one and to pay attention to the downed player – ’cause traited right a Ranger can keep you alive while you melee, when played correctly.
Not everyone knows how a dungeon should work – many never communicate and so many frustrations could be stopped if communication was tried at the beginning so everyone knows what is expected and what is ‘coming up next’ to be able to follow a good team as much as possible.
Not everyone wants to rez a dead player no matter what – so that would also need to be laid out if that were a “rule” in the group.
Again, it comes back to communication, some are willing to speak to other players, but far too many will not.
(edited by atheria.2837)
Many intelligent players are getting tired of the tactics that anet is forcing us into when it is clear that some of their decisions are not for the enjoyment of the player at all.
I have a level 65 Mesmer and because the dungeon says (even on the LFG beta system) it is for level 50 (story) and 55 (explore) so why is it that every time I get in a group I get kicked instantly for not having or being a level 80? I heard some people say that new dungeons are for level 80s. Well, then why is it advertised for level 50-55?
Oh and mine doesn’t state 55 for explorable mode – just 50 for story mode – no other level is ever on my screens.

Either *change" the level or stop players from booting those of us over 50!
There is nothing in the joining dialogue that states it is only and 80 path….nothing.
I can’t believe the mean and snarky comments when one tries to join one of the groups that exists or is being formed.
Anet you truly messed up here – if you ALLOW the players to kick us you are breaking your own rules – gee, what else is new…
I’m level 56 now, but still running around level 15-35 zones for completion. I’m basically focusing on Power/Precision with Dagger/Warhorn (although sometimes I try Dagger/Dagger). I’m decently geared (this is my highest character, so money is tight). I use sigils of bloodlust to get to 25 stacks, and then switch to sigils of force instead. I run with the healing minion and the flesh golem, the high damage well, blood is power, and the locust signet (for running speed).
I can solo probably 95% of the content so far. Enemies die fast to the well + dagger. One on one, or even two on one, anything short of a champion dies quickly.
I know I’m not expected to solo champions, but I figure that a couple Veterans should be doable. What I’m finding though is that in certain spots they just cram so many enemies together, and/or the Veterans have the ability to call/spawn even more enemies, and these are the places where I die. I’m probably not using death shroud correctly. It’s more my go-to when I’m about to die, instead of using it for additional damage/protection. Its just that the dagger auto attack does so much damage so quickly.
I can’t get real specific, but Gendarran had a couple places like this. One was an Ettin cave, with a Veteran and 4-5 regular Ettins around him. Also near there was an area full to the brim with Ice Elementals, at least one Veteran, and I’m pretty sure he summoned more. The respawn rates in certain areas seem higher than others also. There was a cave in the 15-25 Norn area with a big metal golem (Veteran) in a cave surrounded by Dredge. There might even be two golems – I just know there were a ton of enemies in one very small space. Once my minions die I am sure to follow shortly after (which annoyingly also drops all my bloodlust stacks).
My main question is regarding if the game designers “expect” one player to be able to kill so many enemies at one time, or if certain parts of PVE maps are intended for multiple players instead?
Thanks for your help/advice.
I either have a great affinity for a necro or I traited well somehow but I only use mf foods and level appropriate crystals and today for the first time in the game at any level I solo’d a Champion.
I kept waiting for him to down me and then kill me but he didn’t and I didn’t die.
Long story short? I wasn’t using a staff and I was listening to a very intelligent player whose videos are very informative
I don’t do every single thing yet, but I am following the pattern to get there. I use golem, and I don’t use consume conditions – I use the minion and seem to be able to survive just fine without consume conditions.
My character was about 40-ish when I solo’d the champ…
If I can do it anyone can.

Some runes always drop as soulbound regardless of the method used to get them.
I thought the whole reason to USE the toxic toilet was to get items that are not soulbound.
The “chance” part is bad enough without throwing in that variable as well.
…You’re just left with weaker bleeds. Like 20-30 per tic weaker depending on how you spec.
I said “depending on how you spec”
….it’s not my fault none of you can read.
Sorry… but I can run Superior runes of the Pirate and run 30/30/10/0/0, and get more condition damage than Undead Runes if I go 30/0/0/30/10. Guess pirate runes are much better for conditions.
It isn’t the runes that caused you to lose the condition damage as others have said, so commenting the runes in effect cause you to lose that damage is silly.
Bottom line, even without the 6 bonus, (in my opinion) are still the best we can get for a mix of good-great damage and an addtional condition freebie tacked on.
Would you post your full build so we can do a comparison?
Many Thanks.
Whenever Tequatl spawns, all interactions/actions I attempt to perform become so delayed to the point that I am sometimes dead before whatever I wanted to perform plays out. This includes general chat, like /say, /map and /yell. Strangely enough, /whisper still works perfectly. Additionally, I get disconnected from the server multiple times per Tequatl fight. The “old” Tequatl never gave me any problems, so I’m not sure why the “new” Tequatl fight is unplayable for me.
Note: When Tequatl is NOT out, everything is fine, but once he spawns, I start getting increasing amounts of lag until I eventually get disconnected (or until he leaves the area).
I would really appreciate any help you can offer me regarding this issue, thanks.
Still waiting, many of us, for the lag issues to be fixed once and for all.
They can do it – just more bandwidth on their side to MATCH WHAT MOST OF US HAVE.
Hello.
I’m getting this in before everything else: before a bunch of White Knights come here telling me pingtest this or that… stop. It’s not our computers or connection. We are not the reason. Hundreds or thousands of players who have never had lag before Teaquatl patch are now experiencing unplayable levels of skill lag.
To Arena Net – This is ridiculous. For 3ish days now you have all chosen to ignore the multiple reports posted to this Official Forum and the hundreds or more in-game Support Tickets we’ve all created. I have no idea why, but it’s time to address the issues.
I literally get zero enjoyment from this current state of the game. sPvP is a nightmare. Zone completion is a nightmare. WvW is a nightmare. We’re getting 15 seconds of skill lag when we try to mine a node for Gods sake.
Please take some of the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent in your gem store, and combine it with others who have spent much more, and let’s get the issue fixed. I am just logging in to do dailies, and even that frustrates me beyond all reason. Games are supposed to fun iirc.
SEVENTH thread about lag!
Guess what Anet?
LAG ON YOUR SIDE IS AN ISSUE!
Please, for gosh sakes, FIX the lag!
Checked everything on my end from firewalls, to settings, to my ISP. Still maintaining packet loss to GW2 servers, and only your servers. speakeasy has me at 42 down ad 4 up to San Fran from NC. Having a hard time playing the game with any sort of enjoyment. Another patch in order?, and I should just wait it out? Or Is this a fixable issue?
SIXTH thread about lag!
This is getting totally ridiculous.
I have to hit a skill over and over again and then my screen freezes – from 60fps to ZERO in a millisecond.
Anet, you have serious issues you can NOT deny any longer.
Many of us have HUGE 50mbps pipes that can wipe out any game out there but this game is all LAG when we get into a fight that is more than – what 10-15?
Gadz!
Merge ALL lag threads and FIX THE LAG!
It seems as though after this most recent patch, I notice a huge lag spike when doing anything outside of tequatl. I cant even farm ores without lag spikes, I cant hit enemies without at least a 20 second delay. Also If I move to far from my starting position I get disconnected.
Please fix this, there are a lot of users with the same issue. Your QA better step it up a notch.
Yet another posting thread, the fourth, all about LAG.
If all these threads were merged like they should be John would be ANSWERING the question that every single world event attendee wants to know right now;
WHAT, if anything, is being done about the LAG?
JOHN MERGE THESE AND FIX THE LAG it is NOT on our sides!
So I did what everyone said, I know little to nothing about computers, however I have never lagged in this game at least long term until the most recent patches here is ping from cmd prompt. Can anyone tell me what this means? And if its on my end what I can do?

Moderators aren’t doing their jobs – this is going to get nasty.
Hi,I will get right to the point. After downloading the hotfix that happened today I have constant delay,it has gotten to the point where the game is unplayable.I have checked my connection and tested in various ways and everything works just fine excpet GW2.Some response from tech support would be greatly appreciated.I just hope that I wont have to wait for another hotfix untill this is fixed.Thank you

Are getting worse and worse.
I’m usually not one to complain about lag, it happens, but this is getting ridiculous, its been pretty much 24/7 for the last few weeks. It is notably worse at 1 am server time, being 7 pm AusEST.
I’m not talking about skill lag in WvW, thats an entirely different issue.
I’m talking about rubber banding, incredibly slow skill use, movement skills not allowing you to go as far as they are meant to, and objects and yourself teleporting.
If I use Savage Leap or Rush or Swoop (Any movement skills), If I am not going the full distance due to lag, that is GAME BREAKING. Especially in PvP and WvW.
Making up some numbers for a second:
Lets say that Savage Leap goes a distance of 10, with swiftness while in combat.
With this incredible lag it only goes a distance of 5, instead of 10.
Not to mention most of the time your character starts glitch teleporting in the air, effectively immobilizing yourself.
It is a huge problem.THIS IS A TOP PRIORITY THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.
It makes playing WvW redundant, you HAVE to zerg, HAVE to use a ranged weapon with auto target enabled, and even then its a chore trying to hit teleporting targets.
And no, it is not a problem on my side.
I have no problems on my side either with a 50mbps pipe to Comcast wide open and no one else online during the day when everyone else in the world is at work.
I am chronically ill so I get to devise ways to stay busy and this is one of them.
The lag has, as you say, been getting exponentially worse – and I am NOT lowering my graphics YET AGAIN ANET.
John! Answer this one!
I’ve tried 3 different Visa and Mastercards — and I can’t buy any gems. Is the store still down? According to the notice, maintenance should have been over hours ago.
I think it’s great!
I’ve gone in to buy several things and when it doesn’t work I’ve found other ways to get around buying that “thing” that I thought I needed.
Instant anti-buyers remorse.
Thanks Anet!
//sarcasm meant in the most stringent way//
TLDR:- is anet manipulating the trading post that’s supposed to be player driven?
No.
Awesome and your source?
No.
There needs to be a John Smith pvp finisher on the gem store where a big red “No.” drops on the corpse.
I am sick as a dog but your comment made me laugh and feel better!!
Thanks!
500 crafting crashed the exotic markets, which has forced price out of random exotics and into the precursors. Precursor prices will drop again when assorted exotic weapons start selling at higher prices.
I have to agree 1000%.
At the beginning of the Queen’s Pavillion we were getting the ascended hype.
I found a gorgeous exotic that listed for 60 gold – in less than eight hours it had gone down TWENTY gold.
Not silver, GOLD.
The market is busted – and it’s getting worse.
Scroll down to inscriptions and make the berserker inscription. Then make the ori chest panel under crafting components and you should then be able to make the final product.
Any recipe you’ve made before or discovered will always appear (unless you filter it out), so just because you see it, doesn’t mean you already have all the parts to make it.
You had the right idea – I was trying to make Valkyrie armor – and had all the ingredients but the recipe was a step by step process I did not and still don’t really understand.
Some people need more guidance on “crafting” and other mechanics in the game, oh well, sorry for the inconvenience!
And thanks for the help!
I learned the recipe.
The coat is still not in the “list” as craftable even with all the ingredients.
The exotic coat I can make is there – and shows even without all the needed ingredients.
Please help guys!

You can’t discover the exotic insignias. You buy the recipe(s) from the crafting vendor for karma.
I asked every single “expert” in the game and googled it to death.
I am going to check – if it’s there many are just clueless about their own crafts – thanks for the quick answer – been at this for over two hours.
My ectoplasms aren’t showing when I go to the “discovery” window in the Armorsmith discovery screen.
I want to make Valkyrie Intricate Gossamer Insignia – and I have all the ingredients but I can’t get ectos and the rest to show in the left panel at all.
I do NOT have invisible bags
I AM 400 in crafting
I AM active in the craft
Ectos are not showing after reclogging – depositing them over and over and taking them out again and the recipe is NOT discovered.
Now what?
Invite me too!
Are we going to blackgate and killing the server?
Noooooooooooo!
