ranger DPS will never be the meta because every other class does it much better with half the effort . It is pure mathematics really , ranger benefits far less from power then other classes and on top of it its 20-whatever% of damage dies to a stiff breeze in high level content .

Furthermore dungeon bosses are designed to have low toughness and high HP pools hence condition specs are far less desirable then raw DPS ones , but i digress .

Do not kitten your party by having a subpar class in high level PvE content .

If you are going to blast a build at least have the honor to put one feel is more viable than the one posted and that works for the person posting.

How ridiculous.

Torment runes on ranger [video]

The video is nice, but it’s not like your performance would be too different with or without the runes.

Basically you apply “3 bleeds” when you heal. Keeping 3 bleeds on your opponents (once you use the first heal as you don’t want to waste it at the start of the battle) is nice, but there are better rune setups IMO that would benefit you more.

If you are going to attempt to “correct” another, how about saying WHAT runes you would use and why.

You are either QQ’ing or you just don’t feel that the person who posted deserves to know your reasoning…???

[Guide] The Immortal Mesmer Build

Having played extensively since the big patch, I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion that this build is no longer viable. The retaliation trait was the very basis of this build. With that trait effectively gone, this build no longer has any offense available to it, and simply becomes a difficult to kill Mesmer that you can completely ignore.

I will be adding this note to the beginning of the build. Many of the tips and tricks I have in the guide are still helpful and valid, so I’ll be leaving it up, but until Anet fixes the retaliation trait into a form that isn’t worthless, this build will unfortunately remain unplayable.

I read quite a bit of this thread more than once and I am so sorry that Mesmer is now another toon I have to shelve until they figure out how to make it viable in every single area – WvW, pvp, and pvE…

Darn it – I needed a range damage, won’t-die-every-five-seconds and not a Guardian…

I know, roll a Necro, thanks.

Just a question that many probably want to know…

Can't get Past 10/13

I seem to be stuck at 10/13 invasions.

I know I still need maelstrom, so that should give me 11/13 but I have done the other 12 zones but I am still at 10/13.

I’ve been keeping track of each zone on paper and I write it down after I kill scarlet there. There are 12 zones on my list but when I went to check the achieve it only recorded 10… how do I check which one didn’t count?

All the posts need to be merged and Anet needs to fix the zones – and TELL us which ones we have BEEN IN and which ones we still NEED TO GO TO.

This blind instruction garbage needs to stop.

Anet, this is all the same issue – the achievements aren’t accomplished for whatever reasons, and it all started when the darned overflows started messing with the databases… wanna BET?

Well telling Anet to make people stop farming champs will get you nowhere. I was giving you an easy solution to your problem. If you are waiting for the update to tell you which map, and then quickly go to any wp there, you will likely not get overflow. It’s worked for me the 10 times I have tried.

How is that an “easy solution” when you still must find a place where people will help and not farm – coordination matters in this event, sorry you don’t see that.

Without a real solution (i.e. which server at the very least) your “suggestion” is a cold, mean set of words that accomplishes
nothing.

That’s not very helpful when the majority of the time you get an overflow, and you don’t know what servers are farming until you actually manage to get a non-overflow and hit the aetherblade mark.

The first day I was never in an overflow.

Thereafter I was dumped into one every single time and only once that I could see did we get the achievement and bump up – and we all know we are supposed to be doing “different” maps, we’re not stupid, but some here want to believe we are not reading, following directions and keeping up.

Well, I will say it again, I didn’t have any issues the FIRST day when I was NOT in an overflow by default in every single event from minute one of every single day following.

Zerging AB champs doesn’t fail the event.

You still aren’t understanding the issue.

There is no way to get the achievement if you:

Don’t know which maps you have not done.

Can’t ever get Fireheart Rise.

Can’t finish and get to the rest of the achievement – The Playhouse – and all the while I see others inside the darned instance or whatever is next and many of us can’t finish – this event is too scattered and now with the “farming” it’s not getting the coordination it had in the first day, the first day I had five or six of the 16 done, now I am stuck at 9 or so…

Tick, tick, tick.

People are not getting the achievement – it’s that simple – we’re getting locked out – no matter what the “reason” is, whatever it is, it needs to be fixed – I am not going to pick through the net and cheat to get through this.

All of our commanders are advertising farming Ablades, with a huge zerg of people just farming the champions. How do I get to QJ? Give up, wait another hour, work for 25m then see people are just gonna farm again and intentionally fail the event?

As an elementalist I couldn’t get the achievements.

Then I moved to my mesmer and found EXACTLY what you are saying – the farming was CONTROLLED in the zergs in the Queen’s Pavillion and some coordination could be done but THIS can’t be coordinated and nothing can be done to get the achievement by normal players – only the mega-huge damage, I-know-where-everything-is-and-I-use-insert-whatever-website-to-navigate-events monsters who outshoot, outrun and outDO us and then come back and *farm it to death so we can’t get our achievements.

This needed some organization – why couldn’t a famous NPC call you to arms and then fight with you??? GEEZE, this is frustrating!

I’ve never grouped for the Invasion events, and I have no problem getting kill credit.

…And I imagine you aren’t a “support” build either.

Your damage is probably one of those who is outdoing the rest of us so that we get little to nothing in comparison.

Wasn’t one of the big selling points of GW2 the fact that we could show up to an event and partake then split? There was no need to be grouped. Last night and today I’m hearing “If you are not in a group you probably won’t get proper credit..”

O.o did this change with the update?

Almost all of the last fights (they can check the logs) produced little to no loot for me as an elementalist who does conditions, heals, rez’es others and tries to produce some DPS to get ANY loot.

You aren’t the only one… Even when one is in a group, that doesn’t guarantee better loot but it sure doesn’t hurt if you can hit one instead of many when IN that group.

Targeting seems to be a serious issue in these events – and we end up not hitting a single target “enough” to get a good or great find…

So not balanced and WAY not fair when warriors and guardians (and other huge damage builds) are cleaning up bigtime.

Join within 10 minutes of the invasion and you’re good to go. Invasions start at the beginning of every hour.

You are wrong, the timings are WAY off and many of us are being left in a ZERO zone with no events!

This is the THIRD THREAD of this problem so far, and I, for one, am sick of the naysayers.

If they are going to SAY it will be CONCURRENT within 10 minutes, then IT SHOULD BE.

And you did t understand me. Concurrent means they happens at the same time. This does not mean that they finish at the same time.

I have been through no less than three events that had me map travel INSIDE THE TEN MINUTE LIMIT and there is NO WAY the “other” map that is, by ANET’s decree, had the SAME EVENT ON THE MAP CONCURRENTLY.

There is NO WAY that the map was “finished” in ten minutes or less!

Apparently there are some who just don’t get that I haven’t had this happen once and many others have had it happen as well.

If it is NOT supposed to be concurrent, don’t TELL us in the release notes that IT IS.

Just asking for a bit of logic for gosh sakes.

If I had made up that line and not taken it directly from the release notes, ok, but ANET said it, and it hasn’t been true, not once.

Remove it or sync it!

I am trying really hard to participate in the living story but having no luck at all. I have tried to participate in three different invasions so far and each time I was put into an overflow that had no event going on. What is the point of even playing this game if the only content that ever comes out I cannot even do because of overflows.

The problem is that when the main map finishes their event they all leave so suddenly 100,000 players all get the popup for traveling to the main map. The first 300 or so get in to a map that is done with the event and are screwed over. The rest of the people that also clicked travel get sent to a brand new overflow that is created from all the people trying to travel to the main map and since the map is done with the event the overflow no longer spawns a new event. Thus everyone that hits travel is out of luck.

In conclusion, don’t travel to the main map. I kinda assumed that would be common sense, but I guess not.

How does it makes sense to have a map travel pop up AT ALL unless there is going to be a LIKE event on the MAIN MAP after THEY SAID THERE WILL BE???

My gosh, so many people thinking I am pulling the words out of thin air, ANET stated it would be so, so the map travel dialog is an annoyance and has caused me to DIE several times because I could not click it off soon enough…

How about thinking about what ANET stated and what is happening rather than saying something about “common sense”.

Common sense would dictate that the map travel dialog would not even come UP after ten minutes after the start of any event – but then not to have it there when you are asked to go – they say it will be ok, your events will still be in progress… and you get to them and there isn’t a single event, the maps, instances, weren’t concurrent AT ALL.

How is this common sense now?

Ele is a very high skill celling class, pro’s do extremely well, and new players get destroyed.

Your friend probably didn’t have any idea of how Op Eles were at WvW.

1. Map travel icons pop-up during the HUGE fight that I fought so hard to get to and start hitting things with my KITTEN Ele that we all go into when we actually find the zergs on each map.

Frustrated by Queensdale champ loot train

This Queensdale champion loot train needs to stop. Since the update, level 80s flock Queensdale all day and night and own the events in less than 20 seconds. It’s making it extremely difficult to level up in these zones when none of the events are doable because level 80s steam roll them before you can even get there.

I’ve been called a troll all night for requesting the level 80s to go somewhere more appropriate for them since I can’t go anywhere. “Go to other starter zones to level!” “Go to another zone!” “Craft!”

So because I’m leveling human characters all of which are under level 10, I now can’t do any of the Queensdale events because Anet has made them so appealing for level 80s to farm.

The people calling me a troll tell me that they log on and kill the champions all day – that’s all they do. Because it’s more profitable and easier than doing stuff like Orr or Frostgorge event farming.

So why does Orr keep getting nerfed but places like Queensdale have champions spawning every 3 minutes? Why do level 80 zones feel the need to populate ONLY QUEENSDALE (none of the other starters have this many convenient and this number of champions)??

Something needs to be done to motivate players to populate more maps in the game world – not just have everyone flock to Queensdale 24/7 to farm champions. Usually I’m doing dungeons or fractals with the guild to notice this but even at launch it wasn’t this bad.

Please tell me there’s a better way.

I happen to agree but with an even stronger caveat.

Lower level players ARE getting locked out of kills, but so are WEAKER characters – the stronger characters do “more damage” so get the “kill” and the “loot” while MANY are locked out.

This is supposed to be FUN for ALL, but some are trolling in there, some are being extremely unkind (!) and others are out and out lying to “noobs” thinking it’s funny – it’s not.

Mouse Cursor Color Change Option

As a person who LOSES the CURSOR half of the game – really, I can’t see where it is – it impacts my gameplay enormously.

Half the time I am wiggling my mouse to FIND it.

Yes, I’ve asked before, may we PLEASE have options to find the mouse cursor easier and make it custom colors – some colors are easier seen than other for DIFFERENT people.

Some see red better than blue or green. Some see yellow but not white.

We need help in here with the cursor – please, soon.

Override my ear, this should have been implemented before the game was ever out of BETA!

KILL ORDER

1. First Mate – She does lots of Thief styled burst / poison damage
2. Master Gunner – He does lots of annoying AOE damage.
3. Captain – He evades pretty regularly.
4. Stitches – Other than the occasional “evade” ability from Captain she doesn’t do much else. Of the four she is the easiest… if you follow this kill order.


OVERVIEW

This build is based on the concept “fight fire with fire” in that you are dealing with four NPCs so you can somewhat level the field by bringing two “minions” of your own: Hammer and Sword. Hammer is awesome for knocking down and making a target pretty much useless. Sword does a lot of damage. And with the trait build you are giving your spirit weapons longer life, more damage, more conditional damage, faster skill recharge AND you can command numerous times before they disappear.


OVERVIEW

First Mate.

1. Start with Scepter & Focus.
2. Cast Hammer of Wisdom and Sword of Justice.
3. Cast Ray of Judgement (#4) at First Mate.
4. Make your two spirit weapons attack First Mate.
5. Pop all your buffs and defensive skills and Hammer her. With any luck her health will drop to 5-8%.
6. Signet of Resolve.
7. Switch to Scepter & Focus and finish her off with whatever also continue to make your two spirit weapons attack First Mate.

Master Gunner

1. Cast Ray of Judgement (#4) at Master Gunner.
2. You are likely not going to have your spirit weapons and Signet of Resolve so try and keep yourself alive by avoiding the Captain and Gunner’s AOE fires.
3. Once your CDs are done pop them and wallop on Gunner.
4. If your spirit weapons are off CD pop them and make them attack Master Gunner.
5. Unlike First Mate, Master Gunner’s health drops pretty quick. So just keep bouncing between staying alive, healing, and popping CD to do lots of Scepter & Focus, Hammer and spirit weapon damage

Captain

1. Captain is very similar to Master Gunner the only difference is he has an evade skill that will happen more than average. Basic tank and spank this guy, but also heal when things get hairy.
2. If your spirit weapons are off CD pop them and make them attack Master Gunner.

Stitches

1. Of the four Stitches is the easiest. She does inherit the evade ability from Captain but she uses it maybe 30% of the time.
2. The best thing I found is use the Hammer skill Ring of Warding (#5) and wallop on her inside the “prison” you’ve made. She usually has a harder time evading.

Necros are decent at quite a few things.

The big one being epidemic, which is the only force multiplier in the game other than quickness. And despite what others above me have said, it dosn’t rely on other professions at all. A good condi necro can stack 12 to 13 bleeds in an AoE rather quickly, and then follow that up with epidemic puts 4 enemies at bleed cap, then 2 enemies half way there. No other class has nearly this potential. This also comes with all of the other conditions that get stacked along the way, such as cripple, weakness, poison, burning, chill, torment, and blind. Throw in other players, and confusion and vulnerability are also multiplied. The biggest advantage here is that epidemic, being a force multiplier, benefits from other players laying down conditions instead of losing out. Necromancer is the only condi class that can claim this, and a good condition necro will disable an entire room of mobs mere moments after entering a room, while doing a ton of damage to boot.

For a good example of what Necros can do, just look at what they do in sPVP. Despite what others above have said, the AoE and disabling potential of Necromancers transfers well to sPVP. The biggest advantage that necros have over other condition classes is that the necromancer can burst long duration conditions. Engineers, rangers, and mesmers all have to slowly build up conditions, or their conditions are extremely short duration. But necromancers lay down long duration conditions, then seal the deal with their deadliest sPVP trait: terror. With terror, the necromancer has a high damaging stun that also prevents condition cleanses, and much to the dismay of low HP classes this can kill an unprepared build outright. They get enough conditions to overwhelm cleanses, which makes them effective in the sPVP scene.

The big confusion people have is that they assume support = buffs and heals. That is a rather shallow definition. While necromancers can give everyone regeneration with marks, protection with spectral wall and wells, and random boons with Well of Power, most of the necromancer support is offensive. Necromancers have the best access to weakness in the game, cutting the direct damage of enemies by 25%. Necromancers are good at stacking vulnerability, which increases the direct damage of all other players by up to 25%. They have good AoE cripple, Chill, and Immobilize, which prevents enemies from escaping as well as prevents enemies from catching up. Then there is boon corruption and blinds, which while some other classes have more access (other classes being thief), necromancer blinds and boon corruption is still extremely useful to the team. Necros also have condition transferrence and corruption, which is superior to cleansing.

One of the cool things necros also have is extremely high Effective HP or EHP. In larger fights the necro has a weakness to being focused, however in smaller fights, Death Shroud provides a large amount of survivability. There are many bosses in the game that have rapid but weaker attacks, and against these bosses the necromancer can face-tank these bosses in bersrker gear. In PVE, against groups of enemies Life Force can regenerate surprisingly quickly, letting the necromancer sit back and blast enemies with a might stacking, vulnerability inflicting, piercing attack that hits for 6k to 8K a shot at range. Necromancers have a high sustained damage, and high EHP combines well with this to make, in all but the worst circumstances, a very deadly combination.

Though necromancers do have their flaws, don’t let that cloud your judgement. There are many things necros do wel.

What I means is we has been reduced from an excellent roamer to a class that is dependent large in group. In short, we can not do anything on our own.

Don’t pluralize yourself. I solo roam most of the time and I rarely lose on 1v1 battles, even on 2v1 i win a lot of times and when I lose at least i take one to down state. I have also met a couple of other eles from the opposite servers who do the same. I am sure on the other servers it is the same case. Eles can do a lot on their own in pvp and pve but it all comes down to the player to make the profession shine.

Hmmm, if what you say is possible let’s see at the very least a full breakdown of your gear and stats.

If Anet had thought about it they could have used the PvP model with a few modifications for those arenas.

Not allowing us to use the PvP 1v1 with real people instead of an overpowered and unbeatable, impersonal NPC, even by a full 80 in many cases – yeah, this wasn’t well thought out or implemented in my view.

I know I’d be dead meat even for a like character 1v1 but it would be FUN

I haven’t played the game too much and I like to play caster healers in most games. So I was curious to ask something about Ele healing.

Is Ele healing good for sPvP? Is it powerful enough?

Is it possible to go with a pure healing build that would be very useful to a sPvP team?

And therein lies my conundrum – I want to be a healer in PvP as well as PvE…

Not really, it could just switch the characters to their normal PvP settings.
And we already have a precedent with the Zephyr Sanctum Race.
Everybody was thrown automatically into their PvP gear on entering from the open world.

Spectating on the fights from the PvE open world would be impossible though.

I don’t believe that the fights would be impossible to view… I think that the fights would be very easy to view since there are only two people at any time in the exhibition hall – and it could be a two out of three or three out of five quick death matches, like you states, with all regular PvP gear.

Not hard at all; the framework is there, someone just has to like PvP enough to allow us to do it.

Umm, can’t you just create a custom arena designed for duels? In my limited PvP experience I saw one the other day. (Though they would most likely need to introduce an actual team vs. team instead of capture the hill style of pvp maps first because they’d throw in an easy to achieve dueling system).

Also, if you really wanted to fight up there, then you’d most likely both fall to your doom, at the end of the two minute timer. Besides, the living story is focused on PvE (including jps and PvP esq mini games) not PvP.

Also I haven’t beaten the final boss yet, but its been 2 days….and I’ve only tried about 4 times against her. What is so wrong about having a hard challenge that actually takes some practice and skill to win (they even mention in the livestream that it was designed to be hard so not everyone would get it).

Edit: Also, I saw people with pics of their new minis within ~3 hours of the patch going live. So “NO players” is a bit of an extreme.

Custom arenas aren’t part of the “world” and that is my point – this was a world event that everyone could have taken their PvP skillset – and had 1v1 exhibitions in all twelve of the exhibition halls.

If PvP works anywhere in the server, so this would have but it would have allowed US to 1v1 IN the world and showcase a very missed part of the game that should be in PvE for events like this.

And I hate to tell you but custom arenas COST quite a bit – I am on a fixed income, chronically ill and very close to being a shut-in – PvP was what drew me to this game – indeed I spent over six MONTHS almost exclusively doing nothing BUT PvP but found out to my total disappointment that none of my PvP experience would count for any PvE time.

This wasn’t about a custom arena, you mixed something that wasn’t even part of the issue that I was bringing up; this was about showcasing PvP just once, just for very special events where champions can prove to a crowd that they will keep trying even if they are beaten by all contestants.

Anet has boldly told us that PvP doesn’t matter.

With the new arenas at the top of the Queens Pavillion, Anet had a BRILLIANT opportunity to show off REAL 1V1 PvP but opted instead to make it about an NPC versus a real player.

What in KITTEN do we have to do to GET 1V1 PvP IN PvE events?

THIS was the time to pit player against player in those 12 arenas, even with an NPC to help if you had to forward the story that way, but MY GOSH not to allow us to pit our skills against one another UP THERE, one player besting another until they lose or give up their place.

Opportunities like this in a game to give players what they have been begging for – and to be SO close but yet again be given an almost impossible NPC to “best” and yet get nothing? A cold, NPC experience that almost NO players can best and have mostly given up on doing.

It’s head-shakingly sad – and I don’t know what Anet wants us to do? We have asked, begged and pleaded for 1V1 PvP to stand in the “real world” but time after time our hopes are dashed.

Many things are wonderful in this game.

Many mechanics to this day are broken and haven’t been fixed since day 1.

PvP and 1V1 can’t happen in Anet’s “PvE world”.

Man this is frustrating.

Loading screen times increased

I noticed that the loading screen times when you waypoint or enter a new zone seem to have increased quite significantly since this update.

Any know what the reason for this is?

The time added seems to be about 10 seconds or so – and it’s highly annoying.

For me it was the best update since they introduced fractals. Wallets! Decent champion loot! Promoting doing different dungeons! And on top of that challenging 1v1-content in the Queen’s Gauntlet and for those moments where I need something relaxing, a worthwile grinding opportunity in the pavilion. Even the open world thingies are thought out better than before – no competition who could be first at the spawn point (now: of the balloons).

The only point which I share is that they missed the opportunity to give us a cinematic during the balloon ride.

1V1? Against an NPC…?

Right.

The wallet is the only thing they got right. The ONLY thing.

This post just demonstrates the nag-headed mentality of a community who is perpetually unsatisfied. Its pretty much another post that points out the current faults in the game that havent yet been filled out yet, while the others have.

I’m just glad I take what most of the people on the forums say with a grain of salt, because generally they’re pretty ignorant.

I’m not going to say that this game has it’s problems, because it does. However I can only imagine how massive of an undertaking this game still is considering the size of the world, hundreds events at any one time, and so much content intermingled and flexible to different variables. I certainly feel there is more balance that needs to be accomplished between professions, but even that is better than it was. I’ve heart 99% praise for this update and 1% whiners. I’m sorry, but this post seems like someone who just threw their proverbial Nintendo controller and yelled “The game cheats!!!”.

No it shows the frustrations of the thousands who will up thumb this comment.

I love the “game” BUT the events that aren’t even in “the world” that we can’t get to “without tickets” and actually forgetting HOW to get to them, no, this is not sarcasm.

My gosh some of you really don’t get how complicated this is for some who just don’t get the dozens (2-4?) of currencies, their “worth”, how to use them, and what to “farm” and where.

This game is amazing in pvE, WvW is doing a bit better except for (again) the currencies that we can NOT use, and PvP, which to date still hasn’t gotten any real love except to add the most annoying and hated map to date – not a single person I know likes it AND is confused why we can’t stay in PvP for “experience” throughout the game and have it connected to the rest of the world – PvP has been shunted off, like WvW to not be part of the world but to be two separate worlds of their own that can’t do much for the PvE chains.

Sarcasm? No, again, I love the game, but disconnecting events from the “real” world has never worked for long and the “market” (real people and the Trading Post) are starting to show it.

Hi , Can you tell me why the Master Armor merchant in WvW is BOA and Not Account Bound ? I use my Ele to buy some medium armor for my engineer . and now i am stuck with 3 pieces of armor that can’t be use. please give me a solution on this. i seriously don’t understand the BOA thing. Why can’t i use 1 character to buy armor from WvW for my other character. i mean its still me that is playing !!

This is a problem for many – even with items outside of WvW – many of us didn’t KNOW that our items, when bought, would be character bound instead of account bound.

It’s like our characters don’t exist to one another; that should NOT be so.

Exploit due to Anets options - Arrow Carts

Arenanet you need to look at your windowed mode and stop this.

Place an arrow cart, either defending or attacking doesn’t matter.

Put your screen into windowed mode, drag it as wide as it’ll go, make it as shallow as it you want it and all of a sudden you can see (therefore attack) parts of the tower you shouldn’t be able too.

It’s not hack it’s just exploiting the tools Arenanet gave us which makes defending towers next to impossible when it’s being used all the time.

Plug the hole Arenanet

It has been done several times while I have been in WvW – and I haven’t been in that much.

This is an exploit that has been passed around quite a bit over the last month…

I want to trade for a specific amount of gems. But because of the market introductions today, Aetherblade gear, the amount keeps jumping around. I am having to change the amount to try and find the exact amount of change I need for the gems I want. This is silly and just frustrating.

If there were an input on this page for Gems and I put in exactly what I wanted it would show me exactly what the price would be for those gems and then the price would be what fluctuates.

Not only that, the gems are more in REAL money than they are with in game silver.

We are being ripped off – to the tune of about 25% or so depending on the day – you can correct me if I am wrong, do the math.

The “currencies” in GW2 are myriad, confusing and ridiculous.

ONE can’t sell a single item for a decent “price” – ten thousand of them on the market just make the item useless to try to make gold – and the only reason ANY of us want GOLD is to get that DARNED LEGENDARY.

If the issue isn’t old, the post shouldn’t need an override bump – when are these people at ANET going figure out that issues come up at different times for different people and searching for the answers LANDS us in OLD POSTS – old according to ANET but not to the user coming in here to find that the issue is still ongoing.

Here’s some from me: fiery great sword 3 or burning speed when chilled/crippled in melee range. Fiery great sword 4 without a target -> flash back.
Also here’s a tip: tornado increases your stats and gives you a ton of crit chance. I’ll let you figure out some good uses for that :P

Obsidian Sanctum Campers at Kite [Merged]

This kite is ridiculous. There were 3 of us from Dragonbrand going up and working together to get the kite and when we made it up to the top we were ganked by 3 people from Tarnished Coast. We were all killed and then they proceeded to jump on our corpses and do other insulting things to us. I decided to wait for someone from Dragonbrand to come by to give me a res, but when someone made it the campers just killed them too. They have been camping there for over an hour now and show no sign of leaving. People just have NO HOPE of completing this meta event when there are campers at the kite… At least just for this event, for one week, everyone should be friendly at this JP. This is ridiculous. I completed what I was supposed to complete and I am literally within feet of the kite, but because someone decided to be a jerk I don’t get to get my Gift of Crystal Quartz? I have 14/16 achievements and am thinking that this is going to be impossible because of campers.

I don’t know if anyone else thought of this but while it is still in my very sad brain;

Why can’t ANET put a barrier around ANY WvW area that has to do with achievements but ONLY for those who HAVE THE ACHIEVEMENT.

I don’t mind dukeing it out with others who haven’t gotten the achievement, ok, I get that, but why would anyone camp when they know they will be stopped or warned?

This game was supposed to be with camping – our game is supposed to be better than the rest of the sorry games that allow unfair practices by its players.

Remove Living Story after 4 weeks, not 2

So now, every two weeks we have new contents. Good! I like it. It’s happening soon enough everytime and we can play it as we want.

However with the new achievement rewards, I feel like we don’t have enough time between releases to complete everything. Why, because it takes time and dedication to properly get all the achievements and therefore the points to progress. Some people can do it in two weeks. Some other not. Me, for instance, it takes time before I get immersed. I do the achievements only on week-ends and well, in two week-ends, I don’t always have the time to make all achievements.

So could you have a new release every 2 weeks, yes, but remove it only after 4 weeks, having an overlap between two stories for 2 weeks?

In most cases the achievements are available more than two weeks. Every two weeks they add another step it seems. I know I’m still able to get kite fortunes and such and it’s been over two weeks now.

The other way to look at this is: if you don’t have the time to get all of the achievements. Perhaps you should be OK getting most but not all. Achievement collecting tends to lean towards people with more time to play. If you are really strapped for time to get the LS achievements done (hard to believe considering that they can all be completed in two days or so if you sit down and do them—I play 1-2hrs/day MAX and had every achievement done last week).

I mean isn’t the content the important part? Do you really need to do Sanctum Sprint 25 times? If you’ve done it let’s say 8 times, is that not satisfactory for you to have experienced it? If your entire goal is 100% achievement completion, then you either have the time or you don’t. Two weeks really is ample time to complete these if you play even semi regularly.

I VEHEMENTLY disagree.

Two weeks? It’s not always about time. Sometimes it is about the instructions, which are almost never clear, sometimes it is about the severity of the events making them harder to complete (!) like this tiered garbage where you have five players trying to go against SIX veterans – and if you have less than 80s on your beleaguered team, you can have some pretty frustrated teammates VERY quickly after Tier 3.

BAH on the tiers and not allowing us all to be truly equal or just make another instance instead of the layering of tiers.

I know, too much work; but not all of us are 80s yet and we HATE switching to one just to do an achievement that should be able to be done by a level 1 or a level 80.

Overnight border lockdown

I will once again start this by saying I apologise if there is already a topic on this!

It is in reference to the fact that I feel a servers own BL’s should be locked down overnight whilst the majority of players are in bed, leaving EB as a playing field.

There’s nothing worse then to have a really good day of WvW upgrading 3 keeps in your BL (is that like 4-5g ish?) only to wake up in the morning and find out a team of 5 people raided your BL with 4 golems. Its demoralising to WvW players and somewhat unfair?

What do you people think about the idea of locking a Servers own BL down so invaders cannot go there but allowing EB to be an overnight playing field?

Day and night servers for each area are an amazing idea! Mark them for each timezone so that I can’t to into one that is in “night phase” for the majority of the players who fight in that battleground and same for “day phase”.

Why not?

Something has to be done so we don’t go to sleep and find our hard work and maybe even real cash going to waste – yes, this is a hobby, but it also has to make sense.
