You should just have a slot for the skin and be able to pick the stats yourself. Runes and upgrades are dumb and just waste of time buying them all over the place and clicking on them. just have an tick box and increase this stat decrease that stat. Simple, fun, and customizable. RIGHT?

I kind of want to, but by the time I get one everyone will have one too, so whats the point, the race is already over. Know what I mean? Not to mention someone can just pay money beat me in the race anyway. I dont see a point of having one anymore. I still want one, but it wont be the same, it will feel like… you know… like getting an xbox 360 5 years after it came out, you cant really go up to your buddies and say HEY guess what I GOT! Its even worse than that because the xbox 360 can play games but legendaries dont do anything so its really all for show but the shows over.

Oh stop pretending like the boss fights were any fun, you can still spam keys and collect your loots. Lag or guests arent stopping you from that. Whats the real problem?

I liked boss fights. I mean, I preferred them when I could see, & when the lag didn’t inspire a migraine – and when I could get there before the boss died. If you’re lucky enough to be on a class with burst damage, you might get in a hit… I also liked it when I wasn’t stuck in an overflow because guests are on my server’s boss.

Lag is unacceptable, and guesting has become stunningly selfish.

How do you know they’re guests? Could all just be people on your server being concentrated to one area. How do you know?

I’m fairly sure of it when I see massive amount of familiar tags of large guilds I have fought against in wpvp. And why wouldn’t they? Why wait 2h on your own server when the other server is already on the spawn window and guesting enables you to complete it near instantly. Don’t hate the player, hate the game I guess.

Just another case of 100’s of people crying about something because they are unhappy…. eliciting a change from Anet, and then making thousands of people unhappy.

This is the sole purpose of forums. That is the game here.

If I were a developer, i wouldnt have official forums. Not like this anyway. The way I look at it is if you gotta ask the playerbase what they want, then you dont know what you want, you have no vision and therefore dont know what youre doing anymore. Games that start listening to player feedback and complaints are usually ones that are dieing, in a last ditch effort they say “fine, what do you guys want?!?!” They made what think would work and it didnt so now they come asking the playersbase how to fix it. If you have to ask for a solution, cant come up with one yourself, dont own the solution, you’ll never implement it correctly anyway, youre already dead. Best is to ignore everybody and do what you think is right and let the chips fall where they may.

I wonder why they choose to kill popular content to try and force playerts into lessappealing content instead of adding incentives to less appealing content so that players choose that content freely.

Its all relative. Said content maybe be unappealing now but when the memory of past killed content fades, the unappealing will turn appealing. Just give it time and you’ll forget about the good content and the bad content will turn into your good content. Its like men, who kill their rivals and take their wives. The wives will be moaning and groaning at first but after a while they’ll get used to it, forget their good husbands and we’ll be the new good husband. Get it?

But serouisly I just recently got to farming orr and I found it funny/sad how everyone there is trying sitting waiting for the events, running like chickens with their heads cutt off trying desperately to hit mobs, no teamwork all competition for the loots in one big zerg. I noticed no one uses for great justice their either lol wonder why. Can’t give any advantage to the enemy! Which is the player next to you not the mob. Its all cut throat and funny until you get rezed and it warms your heart a little, just a little before you go back to the coldness of loot/karma farming. Ever since that experience I always wondered, why with all the beautiful areas in the game, this is the only place to be? Why cant other areas have these kind of farms, spread people out or give them options. Obviously you cant offer this kind of loot to lower levels but why not make it so once you hit 80 similiar or equal loot happens like in Orr. Then youd have the whole world populated zerging working against each other i mean working together for the greater loots i mean good. For great loots! (should be a skill +100 power to yourself and -100 power to nearby allies)

Guild Missions [merged]

bigtime.7410

Well for those of guilds who can afford the massive cost of unlocking guilds missions congrats im happy for you. But as of today myself and my friends who are over the age of 30 who work 40hrs a week and have families unfortunatly cannot afford to obtain the new content.

Since we are older joining a large guild with young players is not viable for us we prefer too have a smaller more personal guild of close friends. so since we cannot have access to the new content without grinding infleunce for months we have decided to back away from GW2 take a break until the game becomes community / smaller guild friendly.

It seems the direction the developers are going isnt smaller guild friendly so its time for us to move on. Thanks everyone enjoy the new fun stuff ill watch some videos online wish we could have enjoyed them aswell.

Im sure theres some reasonable reason why they wish to make obtaining Guild missions so hard to obtain for smaller guilds I just do not see it maybe a developer could respond and clearify.

Remeber the Challenge of Content should not be the obtaining or permission to do said content, The Challenge should be the content itself!!!

The reasons why the wish to make it so hard for casual guilds to obtain anything is the same reason why the wish to make it so hard for casual players to obtain anything. So you buy gems. Hardcore’s grind, casuals buy. You of all people working 40+ hrs a week can afford to buy gems. 100g is $79, if you have a 5 man guild thats $14 each. Assuming you have a decent job thats 1 hour of work for each of you. In 1 hour of work you have everything unlocked.

People complain when they don’t get stuff, it’s that simple. The whining is to be expected.

Exotics/precursors should be rare or everyone would have them. There are perfectly good ways to get around the whole RNG, karma and dungeon gear.

There are sure ways to get the same loot and people will still complain. The rest are just skins.

Rarity is no excuse for badly designed rng mechanics. Rng is an ok mechanic if there is some sort of cap on it. You could, for example, put a hidden counter in effect that would increase by 1 on each failed roll and after 1000 trials (arbitrary number, just as an example!) you’d get an auto success, resetting your counter to 0, which would also happen on a natural success roll.
By adjusting the numbers slightly, you could keep exactly the same overall rarity, because over the entire player population, things always even out anyway. You’d just save people from endlessly flushing stuff down the mystic toilet with absolutely nothing to show for whatsoever.

Why not just accept gambling’s bad. Instead of trying to make it good, which then it wouldnt be gambling. The only good way to make money is to earn it. Even if you hit the jackpot, easy come … easy go.

Huh? why would you pay? I thought the whole point of letting people “cheat” by buying gold with real money was that the rest of us legit players would benefit from them developing the game with that money. I cant accept a game that lest people get ahead by paying with real money AND want me to spend real money to play the content. Thats not going to work for me, good luck to Anet with that one.

And that’s why casual people hate elitist jerks. I pay for your game. A minimum of respect would be appreciated.

I’m not cheating and you’re not playing legit.

You are cheating, youre paying to get ahead, its like a sport where youd pay the referees for more points instead of scoring yourself. And youre not paying for my game, i already bought the game. What youre paying for is cheating. Anet can pocket that money or give fund development. Its up to them. If they pocket it and want me to play with cheaters, forget it. Why do you think F2P games with cash shops dont charge ANYTHING, this game want to charge me for a box, let cheaters into the game, and want me to pay more? no thanks.

You are on bad side of RNG that is all. Things change, and those lucky ones will feel bad days too. I cant complain about drop, i get at least 5-6 rares in 40 mins i spend in orr doing daily, and i run dungeons for hard cash not drops so i dont expect miracles out of chests even tho i smile when i see a rare or exotic out of it.
Not much point ranting about random luck, its like ranting about not winning lottery while your mate is getting win every month.

Its really not like that because this is a game and is supposed to be rewarding to everyone investing time in playing it. the same cant be said about the lottery, its not supposed to be rewarding to everyone playing it.

Just pointing out the obvious logical flaw there.

This game is rewarding to everyone who invest time into it because you’ll always make something, just dont expect the rares and exotics, thats the lottery part of it. All depends how you look at it.

It makes sense, and I too would be a bit mad at the original kid, but how does this correlate at all to GW2?

It might be natural, but this is a game. It’s supposed to make fun.
Is it fun to get less when you ask your friends/ guild to help you?
If you want to do everything solo, why do you play an MMORPG?
Play a single-player game if you want to, don’t try to ruin the fun for everyone else.

Its not fun. You dont know what fun is, you think if everyone gets everything itll all be fun, its not. The fun comes from having more than someone else. Wether you know it or not, thats whats going on if you were honest about it. Obviously you dont know whats going on if you think everyone having everything is going to be fun for everyone.

Why do guys who dont need people cant make more than people who need help?

If you ask me, this is the real motivation behind the thread. You want more for not needing help. I suggest looking at it from the perspective of your example, if a bunch of kids shared a $20 job and EACH got $20, then the person offering the job must have been a pretty generous person! Right? Everyone gets equal pay, nothing got divided up.

If you do a $20 job on your own, you still get paid $20.

Your not making any sense to me, what are you saying?

Cutting the lawn

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: bigtime.7410

bigtime.7410

Ok so you have a lawn to be cut, you figure the jobs worth about $20 in labour, so you hire the local lawn cutting kid who agrees on the price.

You look out your window and notice the kid has brought a few of his buddies to help him. What a smart little bugger you say to yourself as you watch them do your lawn in no time. Then.

They all come up to your door, each one demanding to paid $20. Wait what? Just because you brought help doesnt mean I should have to pay everyone. The job was worth $20, if you wanted help then its up to you to pay your help, not me.

So why, does this game pay everyone the same? Why does everyone get the same amount of loot? And why do guys who dont need people cant make more than people who need help? seems unnatural…

I havent finished the main story , but I already got to level 80 and I dont like stories, ive skipped every cutscene possible, is there any point to finishing the story?

I dont like grinding , so Ive done each dungeon a few times and thats enough. Why do them again? Ive already seen them.

I played some pvp but , its just not fun for me, I prefer shooter games for my pvp fix.

So what can I do that I havent already? Any suggestions? I actually tried some grinding, repeated some dungeons but thats not for me. Is there anything else im missing?

Thanks ahead for any ideas, im bored tonight and looking for something fun to do.

GW2’s goals definitely differ than GW1’s. Like all great things greed is their ultimate downfall. Look at America for example. But there’s a reason for all this, in the darkness there will be a new light, one even brighter and stronger than the one that shone before, consumed but not forgotten.

bigtime.7410

Well, I don’t see new and interesting things in GW2 sPvP, except maps
In GW 1 I saw mindblowing builds, but in GW2 there is no surprises, you always know what you will face

Yeah, there was a ‘mindblowing’ build every other week, which ran the devs ragged with constant balance changes, prevented the game from ever being balanced, and completely alienated casual players.

It was cool having such a ridiculous amount of skills, but GW1 claimed to be a PvP oriented game and never was nor ever could be. GW2 is claiming to be one, and isn’t yet, but unlike GW1 actually can be.

The devs running ragged balancing was inevitable in a dynamic game, I didnt feel sorry for them, they got paid. Truth was that the only way to balance the game was to give everyone the same skills which only takes the fun out of it. Having absolute balance shouldnt be the goal since logically it would lead to everyone having the same skills. The constant struggle between 2 sides(like in nature) with the devs balancing and the players exploiting was the only natural thing to do.

Id like to think my defy pain build is what got the skill nerfed for pvp shortly after everyone starting copying it. Sure the elitist, the conservatives would trash you for your experimental builds but thats what it takes to break through the norm. Having players do that was impressive and fun. I remember we had a monk quit on us in Random Arenas because of my “fail build” only to be replaced by a non monk class where we went on to win 20 straight and ended up in Hero’s Accent or wahtever it was you went to after winning that many random arenas. Amazing gameplay. Or in fort aspenwood, my plague sending warrior, i couldnt wait for those rangers to setup those traps at gunther’s gate, only to send all those conditions with twice the durationg onto gunther and watch him collapse. Ultimate win!! As for GW2 pvp? pfft

Is Anet seriously that hurting for money it needs to nickel and dime us like this? Seriously, it just looks pathetic, especially for a server transfer where it would be in there best interest to have people in the highest populated servers or the next one after full, and it should be free. This isnt going to help the game. I hate cheap people, cheap people are greedy selfish and dont have anything to offer, this games acting cheap. Doesnt look good.
