Running dagger/warhorn, DS is a mixed bag of treats
The traits I run with allow good cooldowns on wells, dagger and warhorn skills. I also pop DS as much as I can because it puts bleed and weakening on enemies as well as retaliation and fury on myself. When there are 6+ mobs, I drop all my wells and go into DS and utilise skill 1 and 4. When there are less than 6, I drop well of suffering and just pop in and out of DS, and dagger skill 1 and 2.

You can’t blame someone just because you assumed something. THey stated chances, yes it is ambiguous, but when ever did you see chance on something that isn’t low and is not in middle school maths?
If you have some map experience, you can pretty much figure out what the books direct you to. Read the mail and npc messages as well. I worked out pretty much what to do just by asking a couple questions at LA. The memoir pages are not walkthroughs, they’re simply clues and riddles.
I found this tip if you use the halloween tonics and stand right next to a table and you spam 1, you can bash everyone to oblivion. Using this technique, I can keep chains of 6+ brawl master up, I have yet to break 13 though.
Holy kittening kitten of kittening awesome. I was thinking of switching from my berserker’s build to conditions then saw that if I exchanged my BiP for another well, you can drop deuce like mad. Wow, that just gave me a confidence boost.
You don’t really die all that easily though, the necro’s health keeps you going and the accumulated LF from dagger bursting keeps DS up.
Mate you did your maths wrong. It’s 629(x9) which means 629 total. And it’s 1635(x5) which is 1635 total.
I have exotic gear, berserkers, so even with crit, I still don’t do that much.
BTW if you didn’t catch on, healing power doesn’t help vamp.

Your build seems pretty in line with my one. However, I am using full berserker’s gear will 30/20/0/20/0 which is a decent power/pres/health(wells) build.
At level 80, I am doing 4-6k with well of corruption and 4-5k with life siphon.
How did you get 5k with life siphon at 36? Please share. It’s stronger than 100B at that level and would kill the competition in pvp, please share.

Some of them are. Fight one that can stack AoEs everywhere, while being able to immobilise, stack conditions and pull you. Then it gets hard.
Looks like necros with names which want relevant to death and disease are gonna be disappointed :P

(constructive criticism) The problem that remains with your idea is that it has the factor of “grind to win.” GW2 has two crowds. One is the casual crowd which will stop at maybe tier 4 of your idea. Then there is the regular crown which will almost always hit the top tier. What happens is that the casual crowd will feel disadvantaged and will probably be lacking in terms of the regular crowd.
(keeping to the rhythm of the thread and discussing) Yeah it is a real problem, especially when the actives on a fair share of my utilities don’t do the right thing. Or warhorn #4 has the wrong descriptor or does the wrong thing.
some people play on hours and areas where no one is ever on. (orr at 4am). It’s hard to find a group. I wanna respawn at least on the same map. Not 4 maps away.

It’s just the visual effects. I have a skin for a really shrot dager, but I still attack at the same range.

I hope the halloween events are gonna be great, but probably will have problems since everyone wants to do it at the same time, I hope anet can cope with these.
Sad that they put it the week just before my exams. They should’ve extended it to 1 week before hwe’en to 1 week after.
They have been turned into mindless, efficient, event grinding machines. I’m sorry to break it to you, but no one plays games for fun anymore, they just do it to get a ton of in-game money for no reason.
I would’ve stayed because I love chests and doing stuff with people.
There is only one type of Selfish Player in my eyes.
The one that keeps plucking away with the auto-attack against enemies, while they have downed allies around them. Not that they are trying to stay alive, but rather they keep attacking instead of reviving downed (not dead) allies. Scenarios where they have no creatures attacking them, or even being a threat, yet they don’t even pay attention to the downed ally at their feet.
Most of my support tends to be an afterthought, if any thought is given to it at all. My Restorative Mantras gives out AoE healing when I charge a Mantra, sure, but I grabbed it to work with Mender’s Purity on Mantra of Recovery for a decent heal that cures 2 conditions AND still compares to a 3x Illusions Ether Feast in total amount healed. Ranged Projectiles in dungeons? I’ll swap a few traits and utilities and load up on all the Reflects I have. This protects me, while helping kill the enemy faster as well. The fact it also prevents damage from allies is a side-benefit … usually. Staff’s Winds of Chaos along with Clones giving Might and Fury to melee allies next to the target? Side-benefit, as I’m aiming towards stacking Conditions to help take down the target.
In fact, the only purely Supportive decision I ever make is where to drop a Chaos Storm as a Mesmer.
In general PvE, its not support but rather dropped on Enemies for tagging in DEs.
In group settings? Its purely support/defensive, being dropped on Downed Allies so I can start reviving them, even if they are being attacked, and relying on Aegis procs for the both of us for defense.That said, if you enter a fight knowingly you didn’t equip certain traits/utilities you have that can make the fight easier, all for a small DPS increase, … well thats leaning more towards idiocy then selfishness.
Now if you expect one specific class to always Support you, without any communication or prior planning, all because they are say … a Guardian? Thats being Selfish.
Rethink the situation.
My friends are on the floor, I am the only one alive, the enemy is facing me with it’s evil eyes and a small amount of health left, I am in the same situation. If I help my friends, I will die, for sure. I take a deep breath in and fight with all my might. The enemy is slain and all my friends instantly rally.
So, now what do you think? My friend dies an awful lot and instead of reviving them, I kill the mob so they rally.
Once you get “grind for gear” it becomes another wow clone and it get’s stomped on.
The problems is you can’t have alternate areas because once they get explored, it’s back to the same problem.
Play it differently, dps first time, conditions the next, tanky the next, support..etc. Usually spices it up for me. For all I care, I’m playing a tanky thief.
Yeah there’s a ton of events gone without love. Xfer’d yesterday to Sea of Sorrows. Honestly, ever since WvW got abandoned, I think everyone just moved out until it gets balanced with groups which are of equal skill.
Sounds like Wow. No really, it does. I believe they want everyone to get the same endgame stats for a relatively cheap price so that the game is based on skill, not how many hours you spend farming the game.

If you’re not going to fix the bugs, at least address us on why. And if you are, please add a changelog or a todo-list. We really want some sort of feedback. It only takes 15 minutes of your time.
It hurts my eyes when I play it on fullscreen 16:9, please make it variable depending on your screen resolution or something, or add a slider because the only way to not get some sort of head pain is to use 4:3 and it makes the UI fill up my screen
It gets annoying, but there’s an option to turn it off. The most annoying one would be necro staff #1, obnoxiously loud and it has probably the worst sound effect.

All of these endgame complaints are caused by people used to the WoW scenario where you spent a couple months getting +1 on a stat just because it makes you just a bit better than everyone else. Look, if gw2 was like wow, then it would’ve been “gw2 is too much like wow, will probably get stomped by MoP when it comes(came) out”, but it isn’t. It tries to do it like a sprpg with an mmo and does it fairly nicely.
However, there are a ton of bugs which are mere unacceptable, how can they introduce new content, when clearly there are gaping holes, stated by the OP. There are class bugs, environment bugs and a ton of other random bugs. I know you programmers are hard at work, but please, you need to fix the botters and bugs, you’re making it not fun for us.
Glass cannon build with full focus on power/pres. Power is 2600, pres is 2200. Toughness is around 1000 or so. Even with the right traits, no buffs, my dagger 1 cycle only does, what like 5-6k dmg (1-2k for fire/lightning aoe proc sigil) and life siphon does 4-5k.
I play pvp with power using dagger/warhorn and switch with axe for strafe battles. It works pretty well concerning the damage I do. It plays very differently to conditions though. I would say better because most of the time my conditions get wiped before they do anything special or before I can epidemic it.
Maybe it’s just how I play
I use dagger and axe/warhorn for spvp, dungeons and pve, axe is a decent (still weak, needs fixing) medium ranged damage dealer with 2 and I switch to dagger to finish off. Axe 1 is very good for dungeons though, you can never get tired of having 125% damage on a boss, and it really helps killing the boss especially if it does hard hits on you.
axe/warhorn has good utility as well, 3 and 5 have cripple, 1 has vuln, 4 has stun
At least make them attack what I’m attacking, I swear half the time in orr, I kill stuff and my minions just stand there being idiots and then they go and attack some other random mob and aggro another 6 at me.
I was trying out a condition build but I’m not quite sure how the mechanics go.
If the enemy has 5 stacks of bleed on them, and you use BiP, does the might increase the damage of the bleed on them?
Similarly, if you use BiP and put 5 stacks of bleed on the enemy, when BiP ends, is the damage from those 5 stacks still higher than normal?
If you get moa’d run as fast as you can before his team can gank you.
If there’s a lot of clones out, use AoE to kill all of them, or move around a bit, if you see one of them moving while in range, immediately go for it. It’s the real one, and make sure everyone on your team can see him because mesmers can get very tough 1v1.
ele’s aren’t worse, they have less viable builds, but are still strong.

Hit both revive/FINISH THEM!!! and death shroud at the EXACT SAME TIME.
I bind mine to Q and F and hit them at the same time and you’ll be in DS reviving/finishing
I’ve looked at your tutorials and just after I played an spvp match with ton of improvement, i’m engaging using the axe and strafing and only doing close up with dagger when I feel that it is safe. I’m not dying as much as before.

Thieves aren’t overpowered, if you can dodge a thief’s attacks (highly unlikely), mitigate their damage or stun them, they’re pretty much kittened. Well if they survive that then it probably means their damage to you wasn’t that high to being with.
I don’t see why this is a problem when warriors can dish out 100B which can hit for more than HS and they can use it every 6 seconds.
This is what I imagined necromancer to be, someone who basically takes death from their friends, eats it, or gives it to enemies, and at the same time, taking away their life force(health and boons)
PvE: consume conditions or well of blood
WvW: see PvE
PvP: consume conditions.
well, if you say that an axe is better than a dagger in terms of a power build, I’ve been doing something wrong in the last 150 hours.
The auto attack on dagger is more powerful than axe but I don’t plan on ever following someone around and auto attacking them. Axe 2 and 3 are infinitely better than dagger 2 and 3. In a power build I utilize my damage from death shroud. Its not a emergency button, its a “I win” button. I usually just engage with staff, 2, 3, 4 combo to build life force, switch to axe, 2, 3, 4, 5 combo for more life force, retaliation, condition transfer, cripple, blind, weakness, bleeding then switch to death shroud for the auto attack and 2 and 3. Then use 4 when I’m at 70% life force.
I agree with you after some messing around in spvp about how you manage to land more hits and more reliably with axes, however the fact that the autoattack is pitiful and the fact that enemies will re-engage you is assured so I’m sitting on the line between dagger and axe. With dagger, DS and wells, if I can pin them with warhorn 4 and then they remove CC then with dagger 3 since they can’t remove it I can land a ton of hurt. I’ll do some more experimenting and come back to you.
I find it easy to take on a ton of mobs because it’s PVE, but when you reach 60-80 you get crap that PBAoE and pulls you around so much you spend more time on the floor then up.
I agree. No counterargument necessary. However, you can mitigate damage with death shroud of spectral armor, both of which help when someone uses whirling axes, pistol whip or 100B. I don’t mind using it because I traited it for fury and retaliation so the few seconds they hit me I can counter back when they’re finished with high-crit damage attacks as well as reflecting some of their own damage.
Lich form could be improved, I would love something like an aoe knockback or fear, considering it’s a big “LOOK AT ME, I’M A GIANT GHOST-GOD, ATTACK ME”
