There are high density of mobs in orrian areas and I’m not sure if this is correct. Through travelling you usually encounter normal mobs but in some areas you can have 3 or more veterans in the same area willing to aggro you at the same time. This effect is compounded when you have orrian guardians which pull you and aggro more.
It is physically impossible to move 1000 range solo to NOT aggro at least 3 or more mobs on you. This is made worse as the respawn rates are high as well.
Is this a bug? if it is, please fix it, not everyone can find a group of 5 or more people to move with just to get a POI.
Eye-sword lol.
How do you replicate that? Hilarious.
Tags along to be your companion…..becomes the hero.
Doesn’t help you kill anything and dies a lot…gets all the credit.
Gets a legendary greatsword…dies anyway
EDIT: Last one might be more BL Brian.
I believe he is showing us how terrible we really are. Early in the video, he encounters a ranger which does far more damage than himself on the mob. Another proof would be the fact that half our attacks miss, we have relatively low health and damage. The wells did ridiculously low damage and his reapers grasp was missing a lot. In the video he also shows us how clunky we are because he does not even give the effort to switch weapons. He also pulls off a lot of dodges and kits, showing how hard we are to play. He also shows how rubbish DS is because he never even pulls it off.
^ My analysis of the video.
You should see thieves steal on warrior gs. Their hundred blades does much more damage than the warrior itself. We should get a fear buff of 1 second or at least make the fear spec more powerful.
I love warriors! They’re so faceroll and when another class comes towards me I can close my eyes and turn around, fumble a few keys and instantly win! It’s amazing. I could have the worst build possible and lv 1 gear and still destroy someone else with my HB. I also love how no matter how badly I stuff up my combos, I’ll still win! It’s amazing. They should make us even more stronger so we’re close to godly.
If they didn’t despawn then it would open up a world of bugs. What they should do is make that so if you have the utility skill on both the same, it will persist. Apply that to all classes.
Bad idea, but you know what would make me cheer up? A grandmaster trait that disallows cleansing on necro conditions >:D. Balances us out perfectly
Hmm… if retaliation does (Power/13.4)+267 DMG, in a 2000 power build you would be doing 416 damage per proc. Now image that hundred blades warrior charging you and popping haste, and you popping into DS to eat the burst. That’s 3.3k damage you’re doing to him during his burst. Or 3.7k to a Pistol Whip rogue. That’s really not so bad.
Very true, and if you spec into other power/pres lines, you suddenly open up a new world, you get fury and enfeebling blood which will dampen the warrior’s hits and bleed him while you switch back and counter.
Necro can be described as the 5th chocolate cookie that you know you shouldn’t eat but you do anyway, and it makes you sick. It’s good, but it’s bad at the same time.
I confess that necro requires at least moderate skill to play, unlike warrior, guardian and ranger which are faceroll. Once you get the hang of whatever build you’re using (mine is power) then you’re pretty much set…to be weaker than everyone else.
Play it out, all I know is that if I can be as powerful as a warrior at my current state (not sure yet), then necro will be the flavour of the month when the bugs are fixed.
I bought Pitch dye for 25s just a moment ago and when I collected it it disappeared from the trading post and my inventory. It’s as if it vanished!! Will I get it back? it cost me a fair bit in my cash reserve (not very rich). Is this a temporary bug and will it get fixed? It happened when I opened an unidentified dye as well.
Can I ask to get the dye back or something?
T3 human medium has a lot of skin showing if that’s your kinda thing.
Necro underwater fight:
1 – Equip trident
2 – Summon pets
3 – Press 1
4 – Back up.Repeat 2-4 for 5 min.
Move on to the next mob.
Did you just secretly make a comment at how rubbish our pets are?
It’s fun.
(15 char)
He only did 500dmg to you. Wow.
NERFNERFNERFNERFNERFNERF.
Anet. Nerf this class please. 25k is instakill for pretty much everyone.
I can take on up to 7 easily without minions running a power dagger/warhorn build. I confess to sometimes using the elite one as a punching bag while healing though.
The difference is that Mesmers put a portal at their feet while Necrotic Traversal can be used at range. If it were to simply teleport the Necromancer casting it, then one could skip huge parts of jumping puzzles (think the one in Mount Maelstrom for instance).
Not a big deal, really, but it’s probably better to actually complete the content and, you know, feel good about completing a challenge.
Thanks for the tip. However I see many people exploiting guardian to do exactly the same thing. Guardian gs4 can pretty much leap over any hard jump without any effort.
Pistol’s don’t fit the genre of “scholar.” Ok, I know mes has them but they can’t necessarily use them. Rifles are the same. I don’t imagine my necro using any weapons that have “technology” behind them. I’d rather stick to weapons that have plausible “magic channeling”
As a GS guardian I have never been able to completely solo a champion. However I did see this champion which was mace/shield so full tank and it took him abt 4-5 minutes to take down a champion w/ adds. When his health dropped low he healed himself to max again and I was surprised of this.
This is in a lv25 area.
Problem is we don’t have enough weapons for there to be a reason to not use staff.
If you’re running conditions, it should be staff and sceptre/x. Nothing else is any good for conditions.
If you’re running power, it should be staff and axe/x or dagger/x. Scepter is no good for power. There’s also no real reason to run both axe/x and dagger/x on swap due to the similar nature of the weapons.
Thus we’re left with staff being needed in all builds. Necro needs another 1200 range 2h weapon imo (like how Mesmer has staff being more condition focused and greatsword being more power focused, but both usable in both kinds of builds and both 1200 range weps).
What this guy says is absolutely right. No matter what build you run, a staff is always useful because it is the only 1200 range weapon we have and it has a combination of power (1,4) and condition (2,3) as well as a utility(5)
A revamped deathshroud and a greatsword skill set that is purely based on summoning minions would be cool. The greatsword would have the dark scythe thingy and each hit would have some sort of ability that summons a minion.
^ My dream.
My list:
Pros:
- One of the best looking animations and best looking projectile
- It penetrates enemies.( No idea why since it’s a grasping hand and should grasp onto enemies)
Cons:
- It fires ridiculously slow
- You’re using a scythe to throw a hand. Why not a dark scythe wave?
- It basically does so much damage that a guardian can heal faster than your damage(based on condition builds which you will be probably using with a staff)
- You can basically run faster than the projectile making it useless
- The sound it makes hurts my ears.
- It does no conditions despite the staff being a mainly condition based weapon
- Did I mention it was slow yet?
“Jack of all trades” builds are gonna get you killed. While they killed out the holy trinity, it still exists somewhat.
I’d like to see dagger 1 have a range increase to 300 and dagger 2 to complete the channel a little faster than it does.
Axe 1 to have a boost to the power coefficient (If axe 1 did about 20% more damage than it does, base, it’d be probably around where it should be. It needs that kind of boost) and Axe 3 should be instant.
That’d be some decent stuff and certainly wouldn’t make dagger or axe necros some huge terror out on the field.
Isn’t our class based around being a terror? I definitely agree on the changes to the axe. It’s not viable for ANY build and is an absolutely useless weapon because of it’s horrid speed. Dagger 2 channeling faster would definitely be awesome as well.
They should also make it if we do thriller we spawn in a couple of zombies which are aesthetic only. And also create a dark aura under our feet and anyone who walks in the zone will turn into a dancing zombie for 5 seconds.
I’m gonna post on this thread only because I was redirected. If you put poison & dark at the end, you basically nullify 2 out of 3 viable builds, not a good idea since it’s so broken already. Bye!

Make dagger cleave or give us extra range or power. It’s ridiculous how I’m doing a ton of damage aiming at only 1 mob while a warrior can let lose his whirling axes or hundred strikes and do EVEN MORE in a conal and circular direction.
dagger/warhorn is ridiculously useful for keeping your enemies still for a couple of seconds while you release hell.
You use dagger3 first to immobilise them and then strafe around them/kite around them to attack. Or use your dagger2 to siphon health and do a ton of damage. when they come at you, use warhorn4 daze, activate warhorn5, drop all your wells (my build has DS activating fury, retaliate and dagger5 skill so i use that) and then strafe again and attack with dagger. It works very well for me in 1v1 encounters and I combine it with marks for 1v2 but it’s harder.
My idea one:
1. Necrotic Cleave
Damage between axe and dagger
1a. Necrotic slash
Damage between axe and dagger
1b. Necrotic smash
Damage of dagger final hit + cripple and bleed.
2. Bloody death
Necro throws his sword towards the enemy and creates a stronger version of mark of blood and cripples enemies in the path. 15 sec cooldown.
3. Deathmound
Necro stabs the ground creating a well of corruption at his feet and generates 10% life force. 40 sec cooldown.
4. Deathly fountain
Necro forces his sword to spin around him in a range of 300 and generates a pool of acid or poison gas at his feet. Enemies struck are crippled and poisoned. Cooldown 25 sec.
5. Death Unleashed
Necro sends his sword in the air and any enemies within 600 with a condition have their durations doubled and takes (base at lv 80) 600dmg per condition stack. 60 sec cooldown.
Now devs, make this and make other weapons more powerful. We die too easily and we suck at everything even if we are super pro with best build, we are still weaker than a warrior using his worst possible build.!!!!
dagger dps is high, but it’s still sad considering other classes can do the same or more damage with their autoattack at less power. And still have cleave on theirs.
We should have a scythe or the greatsword have the scythe thingy like the staff. A pistol doesn’t match scholar. Mesmer can’t even use it, only their clones can.
I’m using dagger 1 fine without cleave. Turn off lock target, use the traits that gives you enfeebling blood, retaliation and fury on DS (all from the power/pres line) and just double-tap DS and then unleach your dagger 1 autoattack to win. It seriously does more/comparable damage to my guardian using her spin attack.
The amount of HP generated by it is so miniscule. I use a dagger and I get like 4hp per hit. WOW. AMAZING.
Let me ask you: This game has so many bugs with broken skill points, DR and other problems, why would you play it?
My necro does decent damage with a full power/crit build hitting fairly good damage comparing to other classes. Yes it is harder to play this class and it does require skill (unlike warrior where you can spam 1 on a veteran standing still and getting nuked and still alive) which makes it fun.
When they do fix necro, I expect my damage, which is just sub-par to be higher if not somewhat better.
I seem to recall hearing in an interview that you can combine the two legendary greatswords to create a third legendary greatsword. I have no idea how true this is but, if so, it does confirm that there are other legendaries out there.
iirc, they both combine to form Eternity. I haven’t seen it in person but im told it has effects of sunrise in the day and twilight at night. Sounds awesome imo.
Hi everyone,
The previews of the legendary weapons do not do them justice as it’s not exactly what they “really” look like. You’ll know more about this soon.
I can hardly wait!!!! Anet prolly gonna release a new equipment quality tier above Legendary(maybe they gonna call it “Godly”) and its 10x harder to acquire than Legendary… Yay!!! More farming with DR code!!!!
10x harder than Legendary would mean something like a few years of farming.
It’s called legendary because it’s unspeakable powers can bring even the mightiest GPU to it’s knees, with it’s trillions of particles generated per second. It destroys your computer and everyone within viewing distance of it. That is why the weapons are Legendary.
Just kidding.
I heard that the total cost and effort was something like near 1000g and a few months. Will be an absolute doozy to get all that.
Wow that is amazing, could any budding mathematicians work out the cost in USD for the heck of it?
@shadowbane they have karma bags for ingredients but they are soulbound, so it might be the same thing.

Don’t hate on the system. This stops it so you have the option mindlessly farm for months or just to be happy with your current armour. A lot of games like the unmentionable make armours with high stats ridiculously hard to get just to keep you on the sub.
:O. I can’t keep my mouth closed. It looks kittened kittening amazing.
@Dibrom
Thief and Mesmer don’t need any help. Thief have the pistol whip which is so high damage it’s not funny. They also have heartseeker which so high damage it’s not funny. They also have unload which can be used 3 times in a row at high crit dmg which does so much damage it’s not funny. Mes can turn you into a moa, which IS funny. They just have low damage in PvE but rock at PvP.
Necro – WHAT DID YOU DO ANET? WHAT!??!
They only take 5 seconds to resummon, it’s not like you’re doing an elaborate ritual that takes hours.
I agree with dagger, it should have cleave, but not extended range. It’s not a sword.
Dark Pact would do better with lower cooldown, making it AoE would be overpowered.
Life Siphon is fine.
Axe 1 should be stonger at the sacrifice of 1 vuln stack.
Axe 2 is fine. Don’t mess with it.
Axe 3 is slightly underpowered at best.
Focus 4 should have another effect, giving it 2x power would be too much power, maybe 1.5×.
Focus 5 totally agree.
For spear it’s kinda a power not a condition weapon, so maybe a vuln stack like axes? It needs slightly longer range because you’re thrusting not throwing but riht now you’re doing kind of a weak stab. Maybe 200 range or so.
But should it be ‘really great’ without speccing into it? DS is very good if you spec for it, but it is still a very nice ability to have without putting any points towards it. You won’t be using it offensively very much but it is amazing defensively. I don’t think it is really fair to make DS a super ability just by virtue of having it and not needing to build around it.
You’re doing something wrong if you’re not using it offensively. If you have decent power, life blast hits like a nuke hit.
I would love an elite or utility to summon whatever we killed last, that’d be so cool. Of course if it’s veteran or champion it would revert to a normal one. You could kill a rat and then you could resummon it and use it to sneak up to someone and blow up or something.
The ele’s attacks do use a air whip kinda thing. I just wished they would at least increase the damage, my dagger damage feels lacking even when I’m fully specced for direct damage.
I would love mounts, only if they met these conditions.
- No flying, or hovering
- Can only jump 60% distance
- Can only run at 80% speed.
Why? So mounts aren’t simply cheap methods to get past objectives and are purely cosmetic. You can mob train in GW2 and if you’re flying by on a 140% speed mount then someone is gonna get hurt. If you’re at 80% speed you’ll just die.
Should’ve phrased it better earlier back there but anyway,
The game isn’t being sold out, it’s just stabilising, you’ll see people leave, temporarily or permanently simply because they expected something different or wanted more. But then there’s the other group of people who stay for the long haul. All games have this in them, so if you see a drop in population, just wait a while, some might be back, or maybe some new folks will come along.
I love how all of these threads end up with a ton of the GW2 community defending the game when this site is dedicated to the game.
Just noticed this at Gendarren fields. Is this the shifty centaur version of kittenfighting?
