Maybe they should be suspended for a week instead of banning? Maybe if they can’t play wvw for a full week they will not abuse the next new exploit that will probably come along.
Side note: I’ve yet to see someone personally use it from my server. Heard a few talk about it but haven’t seen it used. Haven’t ran into anyone using it as well. So why you think the wvw population will drop tremendously I will say it won’t since I haven’t seen anyone do it personally. Some are making it seem everyone under the sun is doing it which is not the case.
Still an exploit is an exploit and it ruins the fun for people who are legit. If nothing is done its just like saying exploiting is ok. So I’d be happy to see everyone that got caught using it get suspended for some time..
Sorry but some event isn’t going to make me boycott the one game mode that I have grown to love.. Seeing as 99% of all my friends are in this game mode and I enjoy playing with everyone each and every day, I will not join in on your boycott.
This event is not much fun I will say that. Been barely any fights but when I log in and check my friends list and see people in wvw that is where I head. Even if none of my friends are online I still head there. We are trying to make the best out of the worst by still trying to do what we normally do every day. That is have fun no matter what..
Instead of roaming and killing players we had to change it up till this event is over and try to kill golems and stop the k-trainers. I’m still alive and it didn’t kill me to have to change the way I play for one week..

Do we really want major changes though? Most will say yes but if you look at temporary changes such as events and tournaments, I’m pretty sure more would rather not see any changes.
Even new map people are saying will become EoTM 2.0 and unfortunately it may become that since so many are putting it in peoples heads that it will be before any of us have played it..
“Major changes” are things like finally making a scoring system that is not dependent on 24/7 coverage, fixing the endless lags, the fact that the bigger group is always superior in 99% of the cases, to disencourage pvd play and so on.

Oh I know of the problems and not disagreeing at all.. I said in the past and will say again. A fix for one tier will hurt another tier. I’ve read all the suggestion to fix matches and honestly most want seem to want to make it more blobby and zergy with either server merges or alliances. If I really saw a good suggestion on how to fix it I would stand by that. Thing is I’ve yet to see a good suggestion on how to fix all these problems without making it worse for others.
Only fix I can see is get more people in WvW and keep them there LOL how to do that I really don’t know..
I don’t think core WvW players want major changes as in new things. I think what people want is just for Anet to try and fix the game-mode up a little bit and improve upon the system. Doing things like, fixing the server imbalance, adding PPK, doing stuff to encourage and rewards for fights and skill rather than just PPT, give a little more rewards for stuff like Scouting, fix bugs, etc. I would even welcome new maps just for the change of scenery, but y’know they don’t have to get too crazy with it. Making new maps that are so much bigger when there’s already a population problem just doesn’t make sense. They could have kept the size/layout of the current maps, maybe made minor changes, but changed the scenery and made some of the cool more cosmetic features of the new map.
Yup totally agree. Even if they changed scenery every now and then that would make me happy. Little things like updating the graphics for towers and keeps would spice things up some. Even though these changes are manly for the looks of things it would probably show us that they do care and we are not forgotten. I like the way SM looks but it could look a lot better if it got a new face lift of some sort.
As for new map lol as is now we have to map hop to save our keeps at times and we are lucky if we even queue a map on reset. I really would hate to see a new map either have everyone on it and other maps are empty or the other way around. I’m sure when it is first released most will be on it to see the new stuff but more has to be done or it will be one big empty map over time for servers that already have low populations..

Yes it would be nice to get some changes and be acknowledged that we exist but if you look at the tournaments and these temporary events, in a way it is anet showing that they haven’t forgot about us. We’ll probably never see another tournament since a lot of people claimed it ruined the game. If tournaments and events ruined the game everybody would be long gone by now. I’m sure many have left from lack of updates but I still see the same faces after over two years of playing running around in WvW. Not saying these tournaments and events are fixes, just saying that they do think about us but even when they do most have nothing nice to say about it.
If this game mode stayed the same for years to come I would probably still play it. Seeing as it hasn’t changed much since I started to WvW yet I put in many hours each day. Probably more then should. Its fun to me the way it is.
If you only WvW you don’t have to buy the expansion to play the new map. Funny people still trying to refuse to buy something because they are wvw’ers yet you are getting the new map for free.
WvW turning into PVE you say? Well it has PVE in it already and I guess the new map will have PVE in it too. Thing is you have the freedom to do what you like in WvW.. If you don’t want to do new PVE stuff in the new map don’t.. I’m sure its big enough to find places to fight in and will be up to players to bring you the fights. Its up to the players what the map will become.
No evidence? So many screen shots of full parties with the buff and some even post videos yet block the buffs in the video to hide it. I’ve yet to even get it on accident and not even sure how to get it nor do I care about getting it. Evidence is all over these forums. How bout if you get it on accident leave WvW and go back in? It is being abused by many and there is enough evidence to prove it.
Thats not me I main engi. Also he clearly doesn’t have the buff. Even full Nomads with the buff would hit harder than that. looks at the blob getting popped all around him. This video is not to display the buff damage. Look at whats going on around him.

Video title is called supercharged.. I’m pretty sure we all know its about the golem exploit buff. Couldn’t be more obvious if you ask me.

Nah they were old videos and she seems pretty cool to me. I just think she is just like many of us that have just chosen this game mode over the other game modes. I always say 99% of my time is in wvw just to be safe LOL but really I login to game and push b and pick a map. I was in a PVE guild for the longest and every single person knew where to find me if they wanted to.
Plus it was a live interview and sometimes you just say the first thing that pops into your head. I probably would have said same thing if someone else said to me people don’t play one thing..
Well I got bored today and found out her statement of “I play wvw and that is it” isn’t 100% accurate. I clearly saw her dying in fractals and dungeons. Unless she has a twin sister that is. So every single person in that interview isn’t 100% right.
Most of us have chosen this game mode over every other game mode but sometimes it gets stale. I know in the past if I couldn’t find any fights I would hop into pvp to get some fights. I also had to grind 100% map completion cause I wanted a shiny weapon and did some pve stuff since it seemed everyone else deserted wvw when new pve stuff came out. It was either that or not play and I actually enjoy the game so I’d rather play with some of my friends even if they drag me into pve every now and then.
I will say what he said was silly because he said “people don’t play just one thing” just like many people like to speak for “everyone” with posts they make on these forums. He should have said the majority of people and he would have been right probably.
i am using a razer naga and recently i am having problems with the right click especially when turning my camera , it tends to glitch out and stop right clicking for a split second then continue please fix lol thx

I’ve seen screenshots of your guildies spawn camping others with the buff. So in a way you guys are ruining it for people that you kill that do not take part in exploiting the game.
So, don’t pretend you never had the buff on you. Don’t pretend that 7 people with the buff have an unfair advantage against zergs mad of golems with 100s of thousands of hp,
And last, make the fight “fair” and get the buff yourself or simply log off if you aren’t willing to get the buff in order to have a fair fight with others who have it.
I’m not pretending anything and I never got the buff on me without a golem. Seeing as I only been in golems on reset night and haven’t stepped in one since. You see unlike you guys, some people don’t need to exploit to have fun playing this game. Make the fights fair? Your making it unfair to everyone that doesn’t exploit.

So I have been out working during the whole day, but it seems like ANET completely ignored the countless requests from the community to stop this event earlier or at least shift this to EoTM only, or, at the bare minimum, fix the Golem Buff exploit so that if we have to live the horror of this event, we at least live it without exploits….

That’s rubbish. People want changes and improvements to WvW, but nobody asked for golems that run faster than players and do 100% extra damage to players. Nobody asked for these buffs to be exploited onto player characters either. And those that enjoy scouting, upgrading keeps, defending T3 keeps, fighting open field, fighting over a defended waypoint, etc. never asked for their gameplay be completely ruined for one whole week.
There’s nothing to adapt from this golem event. Golem dupes? Supercharged buff exploits? T3 keeps melting like butter? No adapting is necessary, Anet needs to fix these bugs/exploits or turn the event off completely. I don’t get why you are still blaming players for feeling down that their only gamemode that they enjoy in this game is ruined by a week long event plagued with bugs and exploits.
Its not rubish to me. If wvw had zero changes yet I can still find fights I would not leave. There are many threads you can go complain in about this event I was pointing out that even if WvW never changes I would probably still enjoy it for years to come. Also lots of changes that people asked for would probably make me quit.
Your upset over this event which isn’t permanent and I will say its not a good event but it didn’t stop me from still trying to have fun. I wasn’t talking about adapting to this event even though I have a little since I’m trying to destroy golems instead of running around in them. I’m talking about having to adapt to the new stuff that is coming which most people already think will be just one big k-train map.

This is something that Anet should have Devs for in ALL aspects of the game. If you’re not going to try to understand the player base of a certain aspect of the game, remove it….

I don’t want to see WvW removed. I am simply saying that I don’t want to be “milked” a long anymore in hopes that Anet is going to admit that their WvW player base is larger than they think, and start to fix it. What I meant in my statement is that if Anet is unable to balance 3 points on a triangle (WvW, PvP, PvE), then it’s time to admit it and drop one of them. Denying facts, and lying to string players along that WvW only is bullkitten… lol
I agree with this. At this point I am so depressed of the current state of wvw and the lack of communication that I’d rather the devs come out clean and tell us that they want to remove it. The hilarious part is that people found put they didn’t really fix the golem duping exploit, or ot came back.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it came back.. Many bugs came back. The weapon preview bug and the dye bug came back. Actually I don’t think the dye bug every got fixed but I know the weapon preview bug is back.
People like you need to stop trying to put a positive spin on this messed up situation. And face reality. Anet is at fault for this whole thing, it’s their fault for not testing this in EOTM first, it’s their fault for not stopping this event after discovering exploits, duping, and such. It’s their fault now that on a business working Monday, that they still are avoiding this, no fixes or patches are in place, and not even a single word from Anet regarding this issue. Shame on them.

Also players are at fault by letting people k-train stuff all day by not defending or upgrading.. So what you tried and failed, does that mean just give up all together? For some it does I guess..
They don’t give up. They are struggling why this was placed in a ranked format of play (all be it server ranking) rather than EoTM.
Not everyone has giving up but most of the people saying upgrading and defending is pointless have. I don’t care how many golems or players are at your keep. If its under attack you should try to stop it. This week even commanders have come here and said there is no point in defending.. To me that is giving up and just letting others k-train your stuff.
Also if you check the rankings on 3rd party sites it looks like we will not be moving up or down so I don’t see the big fuss over rankings.. Its not like you are going to drop 3 tiers from this event or move up 3 tiers.
Let me play devils advocate. Not that I think it was a good idea. Or that Anet don’t get it. And not that I like K-training. But some of the K-training blame lies on the players hands.
I had fun K-training – for about an hour and a half – and that was just because I was with my guildies having fun. The K-train bores me.
But a couple times we into some GvG – Golem vs. Golem – fights. One a three way in Red Keep. And that was great fun.
So the question is, “Why don’t the players play how they want?”. The players can certainly have some GvG’s but they just K-train mostly.
If players want to fight, then fight. Guilds get together and blow some K-trainers out of the water.
Or have a massive battle royal. Three way golem battles.
Make it fun. Sure Anet is out of touch and screwed up but if we want, we players can make something fun of it. The state of WvW is not only (mostly but not only) the fault of Anet. Sometimes the players don’t help.
I tried to make this point several times but people would rather give up it looks. It is not much fun but take a break from the normal WvW for the rest of the week and try to make the best out of it. If the best you can make out of it is to give up well then so be it. Those that just throw in the towel are making it harder for people that are just trying to still have fun and make it through the week.
Yea I guess I should have used exploit instead of bug. I was in a party with some randoms and one asked if there were golems at spawn so we can get the golem buff without golems.
I usually party with anyone who wants to follow or tag along but now I don’t even want to do that. He even laughed at me when I said I hope they ban people that use exploits.
Come on anet you disabled putting siege away when there was a bug so disable the golems until you fix it. People are abusing this.
Can we finally get an option to report exploiters seeing as bugs you create are ruining the fun for others instead of reporting people for botting and having those reports go into la la land…
Bug needs to be fixed and players abusing them should get suspended till event is over or banned. I’d rather see them get banned since we all know bugs happened and if they abuse this one, they will be the first to abuse the next bug..

What part of the I-dont-like-golems dont you understand exactly? I hate them, I never used them and I never will. They were poison before this event and this specific event has only got me to hate them even more. I want to fight not sit in a stupid siege mobile.
I already said there are no fights this week so if you are looking for fights you won’t get them.. You can tuck your tail between your legs and give up. That is your choice or you can try to have fun by ruining the fun people are having in their golems. Cannons and balis are one way to do it but you have to upgrade to get cannons. If you hate golems so much there are tools in game you can use to destroy them.. I guess you are just not seeing them..

I’ve not met on player on my server who has anything good to say about it, not one.
Maybe you haven’t met any but I’m sure you can see them running around in golems. Thing is if someone was to say in map chat “wow this is fun” people would flame them, call them names just like they have done on these forums. I never get why people trash talk people on their own servers as all that does is lead to drama. I’ve never seen drama do good for any server.
Just like every other arguments in these forums the ones that enjoy it don’t speak out much. For every one person that says they do like something they have a horde of people bashing them. Its probably not worth their time to even post here so many people keep their opinions to themselves.
Except a lot of WvWers don’t care too much about PPT anyways. Most WvW people I know see PPT as a way to get fights, not the other way around. You attack SMC to draw the enemy forces to you so you can fight them, not because you really care about the castle. Although being able to run through SMC as a shortcut across the map is a really nice benefit too.
True but you need PPT’ers to keep you where you are. You should know this by now. Your server itself was dropping to the lower tiers and you guys had to PPT your way to get back to where you are. We had matches against you when you were on your way up and you just blobbed everything and anyone. Even spawned camped us. I understand you had to do it but you also still have to PPT to stay where you are if you care about it or not. If anything you should be happy you do have people PPt’ing so that you guys can get the fights you want to get..

I ran around in a few golems at reset and that was enough for me. I’ve been on foot since then but still seeing many people in golems on each server.
WvW is more PVE than you think. Its based on a point system that you get points by taking objectives controlled by NPCS. Its up to players to defend those objectives. Most of the epic fights take place when servers try to capture objectives. SM battles for example. They can last for a long time if people keep respawning and coming back while open field fights usually last until the commander dies and everyone else runs away.
Well it turned into one big k-train because people refuse to defend and upgrade. You can stop the train if you try but so many have just giving up even trying since the event started. Now for outnumbered servers well not much to do to stop it so they have it the worst out of everyone.
We had wp in our keep and a fully upgraded side in EBG yesterday because we didn’t give up just because of some event. Some are still out running around in golems but most have gotten over that and went back to actually trying to WvW.

I could care less what any dev says or president at that. I play WvW because I like it.. If they listened to most of the players and made some major changes to it guess what? Those changes would probably ruin it for some of us. I’ll give you a few changes that many people asked for and are still asking for till this day that would make me quit this game.. Alliances and server merges. When those changes do come I can tell you that will be the end of this game for me and I will thank all the players that kept asking for those changes. Then again anet never listens to its players right? So I shouldn’t have to worry..
Sad that so many people don’t even understand this game mode.. Now everyone is probably going to hate on me but really there is more PVE in it than you think. You are fighting the environment to take it over and it is up to the other players to stop you.
Many of us play it for just the fights and that is fine as I would rather have fights more than anything but if you actually look at WvW it is has PVE in it. Always has been this way and always will be this way.
Keep quoting devs saying they don’t know their own game mode when really it looks like many don’t even know that this game mode is every game mode all wrapped up in one except you have the freedom to do what ever you want.

My guild leader checked out the state of the T2 matchup this afternoon. I had already stated to the guild that I won’t raid till this event is over.
He called it the endless ktrain of zero fights. Actually I can’t post exactly what he posted. Forum rules prevent it. He officially cancelled all of our raids for the rest of the matchup.
Why he would he cancel them? Everyone is either in the Golem Ktrain, or in a group with people exploiting the damage bug. I don’t know what isn’t fun about that! Get out there and raid! =P
Maybe “everyone” you know is doing it but I’ve yet to step in a golem today and haven’t even ran into anyone exploiting.
Glad I’m not on most of these other servers.. We still out there defending our stuff and upgrading.. Yes there are not many fights but we still doing what we do everyday and at least trying to have fun. Seeing more people without golems as well. Not saying there are none but its been less. I even got jumped by groups of roamers a few times.
Dragonbrand and Gates of Madness have by all apperances ganged up on Kaineng, which for some stupid reason ended up against them on this week.
Maybe it looks like this cause some of us defended and upgraded our side while the rest of you just run around in golems. I wasn’t having much fun myself but will say its starting to become more fun stopping all you golem players from trying to k-train our stuff.
Got a few hate whispers from players on your server because I denied them the right to k-train our stuff. How dare I ruin your fun by defending and upgrading towers while disabling, pouring oil and shooting cannons at your golems. Keep running and wp’ing those golems every time they get disabled. It makes me laugh ever single time.
Lol, PPT mean nothing this week. Nobody care about PPT. All that matters is that you move either clockwise or counterclockwise and cap keep after keep and hope that the enemy server holds this “silent agreement” so that you dont have to spend extra minutes walking over their corpses. Seriously, why does a server that’s been wiped over and over even try to defend their paper garrison when 30 golems are coming to flip for the 5th time in an hour. Backcap kitten , stick with the program.
Funny thing is before this event not many would admit they cared about PPT. Those that did would get flamed. Now all the sudden people care about PPT again? Next week no one will care about PPT and be back to just looking for fights.
Will say though not many fights so far in my match up so looking forward to next week so I can roam again.

Just upgraded our entire side to reinforced gates/walls, cannons, oil and mortars and even people are running around asking in maps “who is upgrading?” Was funny watching a group of ten get wiped in a fully upgraded camp with 2 of us defending it.
Last I checked this is WvW and not EoTM so some event isn’t going to stop me from doing what I normally do.. Sad thing is probably no one will defend any of it because they are too busy k-training. That is what most are preferring to do during this event and nothing else. All 3 servers in my match are doing it but at least I’m making it harder for the other 2 servers.
Am I wasting my time and money? Probably but it is not the first time.
Yet the matches are flooded with people running around in golems. I’m already tired of it myself. I did it last night and wanted to roam today but since all I’m running into is golems, it looks like roaming isn’t going to be happening.
who the F buys golems with gold? I mean, badges are so stupidly numerous, with nothign to buy, because who needs double sets of stupid exotic gear. I have like 10k badges, and nothing to spend them on, and as I refuse to buy stupid golems, I will still have 10k badges at the end of this dumb kitten event.
Guess you don’t command or take stuff back when no commanders are around. I buy tons of siege with my badges. I probably have 1k badges left. Most of the siege I buy I turn into super siege. I don’t always command but always have siege on me and when I swap toons I swap my siege. I can go through 50+ super rams in maybe a day. Way more than that if I command.
Also I guess it depends on the tier you are in. I wish badges were stupidly numerous but you don’t get many badges when you don’t have many fights. I prefer fighting over everything else but sometimes there are little fights when people just run around trying to ninja cap stuff.
I get bored following the zerg all the time, and i use siege i get from drops to take towers, etc. i like to harry zergs, instead of following the mob. SO yeah, i have more badges, because i don’t want to spend my time throwing siege down for the masses. I have a commander badge, but i don’t use it, as I like small group combat.
I’m same way . I do lots of solo roaming and prefer small groups over zergs. I actually got burnt out with commanding so its something that I rarely do now a days. Not saying I never zerg since when others servers throw zergs at solo roamers only way for me to get revenge is find them with a zerg haha
Another idea is to send siege to the commanders you like. Doesn’t have to be supers but most will turn them into supers and they will always go to good use. Even if you don’t follow the zergs. I’m sure plenty of commanders would be happy to have siege sent to them. I see some ask for siege donations but to me I’d prefer not to do that but I do smile when some random person sends me siege when I’m out there commanding.

Don’t you earn karma during the normal wvw stuff too, so that karma train as well? I am confuse how your not earning karma during the normal wvw time, as I seem to do decently when i attack or defend my points.
Yes you get karma during normal wvw but there are a lot more fights to be had and people actually defend and upgrade stuff.. Most refer to karma trains as running around, not defending and just capping stuff over and over again. Karma train is just a term as I have 17+ million karma and really have no need for it..
Had a bunch of laughs at times but really it mostly became a big k-train. Our commanders said we were hunting golem zergs but seems the other servers wp’ed when they saw us..
Might have been fun if we actually had golem vs golem fights but that really wasn’t the case. Only time we got to wipe golems was when we caught them trying to take something. Other 2 servers seemed to have ran out of golems by the time I logged. (maybe they were in PVE farming gold for more)
Ahh well maybe we will see less golem rushes after this event I dunno. I got more champ loot then heavy loot bags and I’d rather have it the other way around. Especially on reset night.
