Not a fan of minis, I don’t like the “true” miniatures, only the “toys” like the Princess Doll or the Plush Griffon but since the beginning, minis have been an annoyance.
Now finally I can explore the world without forgetting to summon it or having to re-summon every single time I change map

I was frustrated with the population of the servers before, but now it’s insane. My complaint isn’t actually with the number of players around, but now it’s impossible to fail events. Most players come in with a default setting that events are quests to be completed and can not be deterred from this mindset. I have 2 goals:
1) The events tell a story, even when they are failed. There are so many events in this game that trigger off a previous event failing that can no longer be experienced. I like to immerse myself in the story and play every event for success and failure to take part in the full lore of the area.
2) Along with many other generous players, I enjoy adding to the GW2 wiki. My biggest endeavor is to help with the completion of the documentation of every event in the game. This task has become impossible as I can’t access those events triggered by failure.
Before the Megaservers, one could guest onto a smaller server to avoid these kinds of problems. I recognize that I am in a minority, but is there anything that can be done to allow players to access a dying or closing Megaserver so that players like myself can enjoy every aspect of this game?
Sigh… I know that feel bro, I really do. I’m just exactly like you but yes, we are a minority, a very small one.
However this is not going to happen. It’s against all the mega-servers stands for.
ArenaNet has even announced changes to the mega-server to avoid empty instances (currently, you can end roaming almost alone but while I’ve been lucky to experience this a few times, it’s very rare).
I just gave up, MMOs don’t support this kind of gameplay (I finally realized this is why I loved GW1 so much).
If you really want to stick to this, try log-in when a world boss is about to spawn. If you are lucky you may end in a new, less populated instance.

Maybe they are going to increase the price of the Master’s Salvage Kit/Mystic Salvage Kit by 500%, then you’ll regret no having this :P
Now, I bought it and I don’t regret it (I also have the Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic). Paying 80 golds for it and 1 silver per use don’t seem like much when you can make 1-2 gold just by playing a few minutes to complete a daily.
But well, it will be available for 3 days only, and nobody have to buy it if they don’t want.

The thing is, ArenaNet always do this kind of moves (and they aren’t the only ones), you may hate them or love them but this is not going to change. At this point they aren’t asking for our opinion, just inform us about what’s coming.

Oh, the sound of kitten farmers. Your cheap kitten is ruining the game for new players and people who want to play the game (and since you don’t support the game with money or rising the gold to gems ratio, you’re also ruining the game). Deal with it.
And what I do care about killing mobs without drops or exp? BECAUSE I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME! No just rush, finish and get rewards.
And obviously, you can’t possibly comprehend how farmers ruin other players experience. After all, selfish players only care about themselves.
so what about the people that farm keys with sword warriors and no tweaks? you know, the “i don’t want to pay more just to farm more easily” crowd, like me? we kill mobs just as fast as you.

I’m so sick of those lvl 80 who refuse to take their sorry kitten out of Queensdale killing everything with 1 hit.
The new mega-server made it even worst since a single event can have +5 players at any time and the struggle to hit on single mob is getting really awful and one single of those players can easily screw everything for everyone else (kitten , my lvl 2 necro is already too kitten strong for the lvl 5 areas).
So please, tweak the system so lvl 80’s become as weak as low level or better, make them weaker or nerf the rewards so they move to high level areas where mobs can actually survive this kind of characters.

I’m so kittening sick of those stupid farmers killing everything with one hit in the human tutorial, ruining my game experience every single time I try to make a new character (why in the hell they can bypass the event that close the doors). Key farming is exactly what the Queensdale train used to be.
I want to PLAY the game, not sit there and see how this parasites kill everything with their stupids staff-guardian ruining the game for me (and those who want to PLAY the game) so they can get a desirable/exclusive reward without expending a single in-game coin/real-world money.

It seems like we have a different progress on each “server”.
I logged in, start one heart and then got D/C. Then logged back (got into a new server/instance) and lost all my progress (heart/exp). I finished the heart, got another D/C and I return to the same server/spot and with all the progress I have the before first D/C (losing all the progress I had on the second server).

I killed her with full PVT gear (rare quality), D/D-Staff and… I don’t quite remember the build but I think it was 20/0/20/30/0 (4/0/4/6/0 today) with well of darkness, spectral walk, signet of Spite and the main star: Lich Form.
No other buffs, all traits related to Marks/Wells and I don’t remember the runes but maybe of the Soldier since I was doing a lot of WvW :/
But the most important is to learn how the AoE works, and dodge/blind the clones. Once you know that, you can kill her with any build.

Condition Dmg is a SECONDARY STAT (yes yes, Carrion/Rabid blah blah blah). The sooner you accept it, the sooner you can collect hundreds of bags from Warriors -_-
If you still want to fool yourself thinking your condition dmg is what is killing enemies zergs, fine, just stop complaining about hardly noticeable bugs like this.

Yes, you can and yes, your dmg will be lower than zerker (obviously) but I never had problems to take camps or kill up to 3-4 player at the same time by myself (soldier or not, enemies zerkers melt very fast and their very high dmg is worthless against a soldier necro).
Also, I was able to tank big (and I mean BIG) zergs.
The build was 20/0/20/30/0 with minions (all but wurm) or wells (with consume conditions and plague form).
About power builds: like Norjena mentioned 30/10/0/0/30 is your friend. I’m using it with full zerker and the dmg is priceless.
I use consume conditions, signets, plague form and D/D-Staff but the main source of dmg come from DS.

Okay, so I got a celestial in a drop in WvW this morning, should I sell, unlock or hold this dye? They are at 30 gold, at least when I checked this morning….that would buy a lot of colors I don’t currently have for free UNID’ds on the 15th…..sell or hold??
Celestial price was at 23-27g 1 week ago, then the price spiked to +50g but the next day the price dropped to +40g. Now you say it cost 30g.
Now tell me, what should you do? I sold 1 for 46g a few day ago.
And remember, the price fluctuated between 19-27g when you needed 1 dye for each character. Now most people already unlock it and they no longer need to buy more so the answer is clear to me.

You wouldn’t, but many will keep buying gems until they find a better place to waste their money (and if ArenaNet ever fix the bugged DE’s, I will be one of them).
You think you lost but, YOU DIDN’T BOUGHT DYES WITH REAL MONEY, you bought gems and gems is what you received. If you used those gems on dyes and then, they changed how dyes work, that’s a totally different story.

But the dyes change is awesome (though I lost +1400g), the Account-Bound change is awesome, the wardrobe erm… no so much (3 stones to change one single piece of any level, c’mon), the new guild features are… no, that’s garbage but everything else is pretty cool… mmh, the armor repair is meh and the traits change is… well, we’ll see if is good or not.

Secondly, 70 gold is a LOT for some players. Super-duper hardcore players who spend a ridiculous amount of time and use obscure strategies to acquire wealth might not see it as a large amount, but it is, and it takes many players a long time to acquire.
Erm.. if you think the only way to get gold in this game is by playing the TP or hacking or farming (bad strategy actually) or using real money then you may wanna “play” the game, is very rewarding (I have never farm but a few hours and I’m not familiar with those “obscure strategies” you speak of).
And of course it take time to get gold. Or what? You think I wake up one day with +1000g and said: hey, I’m going to buy a kittenload of abyss dyes just for the lulz? It took me 1-2 weeks to get the gold for 1 pair of abyss/celestial dyes each time.
And yes, you have right to be angry but that’s not ArenaNet problem. They are know for screwing players over and over without the minimal consideration and they aren’t going to change because someone spent 70g on something that is going to be changed soon.

(This and several of the replies after it were originally a separate thread I made to deal with a specific issue in the new dye system, but has since been merged to this thread)
So ANet is making dyes account wide unlocks. That’s seriously awesome, and I love it. Can’t wait.
One problem: some of us have already purchased the same dye for multiple characters. ANet is acknowledging us by giving one unidentified dye per duplicate unlocked dye. So that’s cool.
Except…it really isn’t. There are HUGE price differences between dyes, and ANet seems to be saying that the “reimbursement” for our multiple unlocks will be the same regardless of WHICH dyes we have multiple unlocks on.
I spent in the neighborhood of 70 gold to unlock Abyss on two different characters, and all I will get for that is a single unidentified dye, currently worth less than a single gold, which is the same thing I will get for having some crappy 50-copper dye unlocked on two or more characters?
ANet, please give us an item-version of the SAME dye we have multiple unlocks for so that we can sell it on the TP. This only seems fair. I paid a lot for abyss, so I want to get an item version OF abyss, not a random unidentified dye.

I said previously I spent over 500g on dyes but I checked my purchases (yes, the whole history) and I spent +1374g only on Abyss/Celestial/Illumination dyes.
If I sum the rest of other dyes I bought (black/white/random color) I have spent +1438g on dyes.
And I’m not even going to get a single unidentified dye because those dyes were used on characters I deleted.
And I’m not even mad (after knowing how much I spent I’m just screaming internally).

So! I have only one character with Abyss/Celestial/Illumination already unlocked. Those are the only colors I care to have.
I also have unused Abyss/Celestial/Illumination in my bank for a future character I’m planning to make after the upcoming patch.
Now, if what some people say is true, I can safely sell my unused dyes now since those colors will automatically unlock for any new character after log-in with my current character right?

New “PROFESSIONS” would mean more unbalance. More useless skill in the currents professions to encourage players to buy the new ones or more of the same.
They can add exclusive mechanism but that would create an uprising on those who prefer the current professions so either they give that new mechanis to some of the current professions or they make the new skill completely useless.
A dervish for what? More melee? More AoE blind? More flashing skills? We have plenty of that right now.
And new races? Because we need more complains about clipping issues right? Unless people want more humanoid races but really, who need more human in disguise?

Soldier is still useless against 1-hit mechanism. Dmg remain lame.
Rabid is still useless in group fights. Dmg and survival remain lame.
Cleric is still useless overall. Healing is still a waste of time.
Seriously, I will like a detailed explanation how this is gonna make any other build “viable”
