Everything is going as expected.
-ArenaNet
First of all, every champ in the open world is soloable. Second, you’ll be able to retrait instantly and for free to get ready for a specific fight, so it should be no worries. You could even just facetank everything, since almost no enemies can heal themselves.
First of all, pics or didn’t happen (just kidding, for me is “show me in-game or didn’t happen”). Second, what are you going to retrait? I’m speaking of starting zones so you aren’t going to have nothing to retrait (no trait until lvl 30, remember?).
-ArenaNet
Dodge, as the name imply, is a mechanism to AVOID DAMAGE, not to reduce it.
Sorry, I don’t want to sound rude but this is the most stupid idea ever.
-ArenaNet
We have done some tuning on monster stats pre-80 to account for players having less traits, and stats from traits. We wanted to push back traits to give characters more meaningful progression up to 80 and keep things simpler for a new player to learn over time.
I really hope this include a massive nerf to certain champs (if not all) like the Krait Witch or Horace. Those are extremely hard to kill even with a lvl 80 in full ascended gear.
Not to mention the Blood Witch or similar champs impossible to kill without either a big group or a small party of extremely good players.
-ArenaNet
The Art of Combat – No idea. Maybe some changes to combat but I can’t imagine how.
Critical! – Nerf/changes to critical hits.
A New Way to Explore the Looks of Guild Wars 2 – No idea.
A Colorful Outlook – Chinese Dye system (prepare you gems).
Looking For Group? – Improves to the LFG tool I hope.
Removing Restrictions – Free-for-all Weapons (Yay! Finally I can start working on Eternity for my necro).
Account-Bound – WvW Exp
A Solid Foundation – Start of the new LS maybe?
Facilitating Friendly Play – More nerfs?
Facilitating Friendly Play: Part Two – Even more nerfs? Maybe more time-gated content?
Facilitating Friendly Play: Part Three – OK, Seriously I have no idea.
-ArenaNet
Wow, from all options, you chose Kaineng?
I just escape from there 2 days ago (so I know exactly what are you talking about).
I moved to Northern Shiverpeaks and it looks great. I’m a PvE players and there is a lot of people but not enough to scare your friends (but still way more than in Kaineng).
BUT, since I’m waiting for the upcoming patch to start a new character, I’m doing WvW and I have to say it’s great. You just have to log in, go to EB or NSB and just need to locate a commander tag and done. Non-stop WvW action.
So if you are a WvW player this server may be a great option for you.
-ArenaNet
I know that feel bro, it happened to me a few times (with different champs). All my sympathy to you.
-ArenaNet
Great, I have spent like 500g on Abyss/Celestial Dyes and now they are going to change that?
BTW, is so good to know we paid to be the beta-tester for the Chinese market (I just hope the chinese complains about bugged content are heard).

Wasn’t just Factions, we had cheering crowds of a sort in Lion’s Arch after we kicked Izzy . . . I mean Confessor Isiah . . . to the curb and killing every mursaat which dared stick their stupid Tyrael-lookalike selves through the city gate.
Well, Factions was the first and I never played Beyond but the first time I finished Factions was so AWESOME. That ending really make you feel like a godkitten hero, and without saying a single word.

1) Fixing bugs
2) Make a proper profession balance
3) Fix the way we acquire ascended stuff
-ArenaNet
I was hoping they would go all out, and maybe steal the ending from the original Star Wars, have all the citizens lined up cheering, have the Queen show up and a few other racial Dignitaries, and maybe hand out some medals. A few fireworks and some cake
Then a nice speech about hope , rebuilding, and maybe a hint to watch the skies for future evils coming…

You mean like in GUILDWARS Factions?
-ArenaNet
Yes, keep pushing them. What could go wrong…
-ArenaNet
OK, I just checked and you are right (sorry, I didn’t quite understand you at first). Definitely bugged.
-ArenaNet
Wait, you were expecting some kind of epic battle with a “villain” you have been chasing for more than a year or something like that?
Oh wait, that was in the previous update…
Nope, we are cool. This is exactly what we deserve…
-ArenaNet
Uh-huh… Technically the whole LS in a nutshell.
Seriously, I was like that the whole instance and then Braham saved the day (it really make me laugh).
-ArenaNet
I used to die a lot in that way when I started to play so I’m not sure if it is a bug or not.
-ArenaNet
Those servers are awful, all of them. That’s why they cost nothing atm (I’m on Kaineng).
What you and everyone else who want to improve their situation is try to organize people from those servers and transfer to the same server based on your gameplay.
Example:
People looking for PvE content like Teq or LS events can move to HoD
People and Guilds looking for WvW can move to CD

I hate to say it but that is on you alone for not using the heirlooms and belonging. It was posted several times that the vendors would be removed with this patch.
Posted where? On the forums? Most of the player base does not read those, so most players did not have any notice about it. This information was not in-game or in the previous patch notes. There is absolutely no harm in keeping the belongings and heirlooms vendors around for a few extra days.
Sorry but he is right. Every single time is the same.

-ArenaNet
I don’t think so. Nobody want to risk and try it so I can’t tell for sure but previous experiences indicate you aren’t going to get what you want.
-ArenaNet
Did people tested those games before starting this kind of threads?
I mean, TESO is flagged as the new WoW/GW2/InsertRandomGameHere killer and after playing in the last beta event I’m pretty sure is going to be massive flop.
Is just an awful Skyrim online with terrible animation, no diving (really?), a stupid over-the-shoulder cam without option to center it (who the kitten invented that), races that are nothing but humans with masks and a massive number of loading screens.
And of top of that you must pay the game, you must pay to play and you must pay to get access to certain “features”.
Maybe if it turn “truly free” it may have a chance to stay in the market for a few years but right now I see no future for that game.

It would be great to have some kind of in-game feature to allow guilds to organize this in-game.
You know, something like a guild mission you can announce in the LFG tool or something like that (since many players don’t read the forum).
Anyhow, nice move and you should try to send people to different server to advertise this (or ask people from different servers to do it) since there is a lot of people stuck with this achievement.

We don’t have this option o_O? Fancy that!

It seems you have a severe lack of zerkers. All in your list should be enough to melt the knights in 5 minutes or less (in my experience 30 players is the optimal). However if everyone is running V/T/P or any other non-zerker gear, then you are going to have a very hard time.
And since asking for a change of gear in this game seems to be worst than spam insults in the chat, then summon a lot of embers, lots and lots of embers.

Dunno about her glorious escape but I also wonder what would happen if every one focus on her instead fighting the holo?
-ArenaNet
I was wondering the same the other day when I was re-creating the whole GW2 story in my mind but as you said, is an over-used idea and to be honest, I don’t consider it a good idea at all.
Why an all-mighty dragon would turn himself into a far inferior form?
-ArenaNet
I don’t want/need more emotes (well, maybe the missing ones from GW1) but we really need a easy way to use them (like keybinding or a hotbar).
-ArenaNet
So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: daimasei.4091
Wow.
Someone sure is angry.I wonder though, what would you like to see instead? As in, be a bit of a realistic minded gamer (Jory and Kas are still worlds above anything Bioware has ever written, who still use their sex scenes as rewards for the player clicking the right answer in a chat wheel), and what would you think ANet should have done LS-wise?
You… I mean… really? Are you serious o_O??
You mean, the bioware of Dragon Age?
Where you can love or hate every single main NPC?
Where the voice acting is so good you can actually feel what a NPC is saying?
Where you can choose to befriend or antagonist every single of them?
Where you can learn or ignore their back-story?
Where you can’t wait to kill them or get laid?
Where your character is THE HERO of the story?
Where you can choose to be a valiant hero in shining armor or a son of kitten who kill people for the lulz?
Where you made decisions that matter?
Where your character is unable to say a single word and still be the center of the universe?
And you come here to say a necromancer that is a necromancer only because wiki said so and her mentally challenged friend is above anything bioware has ever done?
What ANet should have done LS-wise? Simple, what they did in GW1 (yes GW1 had a LS know as GuildWars: Beyond).
Everything in GW:Beyond was permanent and more important: it didn’t affected the rest of the game. You could ignore all the new content and know you could play it afterwards whenever you want.
They should have dealt with problems like the bandits, the inquests, the flame legion, the nightmare court or the sons of Svanir and not invented a potato-like villain who was able to do things just because the writers say so.
And everything for what? A new dragon some random NPC is going to kill while our “hero” is in the background looking at the void wondering if he/she left the oven on?
-ArenaNet
Not a bug, it has been like this since forever (or so I believe). Someone just have a faster connection for faster reflexes.
-ArenaNet
So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: daimasei.4091
Lets see…
Months and months of repetitive content, an enemy with the personality of a potato, NPC’s which only virtue is being lesbians, endless zerg-fests, rush-or-lose content and all to end with “press F”? I mean, really?
Marjory apparently dying and her lover broken into tear and the other guy with a broken leg and his pet doing the overused cliche “I won’t leave you alone” and our character just there, in the background playing the idle animation, not even looking at the camera or paying attention to said NPC’s? Really?
How mediocre someone must be to think this is a well writing and worthwhile ending is beyond my comprehension.
And about the rest, lets just say that saving citizen for 50 minutes every hour for 2 weeks was ten times more funny than the whole “Grand Finale” had to offer in 1 day (which was what it take to complete the meta).
I didn’t expected absolutely nothing and somehow ArenaNet managed to disappoint me.
0/10
-ArenaNet
Scarlet is going to be the new Komir.
She is going to screw things, become good, tell us what to do and finally steal our deeds and become a new pale tree. Just you wait -_-
-ArenaNet
I missed an entire year of LS, and jumped back in no problem!
It’s not like your reward on the next LS is less because you didnt complete the previous one.
As for the story, there’s plenty of ways to catch up online. If I’m honest, I felt the same as you, then I looked at the achievements and realised it’s ok to jump into the LS at any time, and you won’t feel left behind.
Except for the achievements and reward you missed. Yes, most rewards are crap (I have like 5 backpack I’m not going to use ever) but the achievements unlock pretty good rewards.
Yes, I can jump and play it without problems but the problem is I hate missing things (unlike many, I don’t stop playing because I wanted, but because I couldn’t).
And if I’m to ignore what I missed, then why should I bother to do what is coming next?
-ArenaNet
I just played one event but is the same as the invasions and harder to complete (or people are just more stupid now). Even the chat is filled with the same crap (need more for that, don’t do that, split, commander sucks and the random kids throwing random insults).
I missed the previous updates so I don’t even know what’s going on and that may affect my judge on this but is not worth IMO.
-ArenaNet
I was thinking exactly the same.
After 48 days without being able to play and miss 2 updates already (not counting the ones I missed last year), I don’t see the point to do any further LS content.
However I don’t think this is going to happen. I support the idea but I lost faith in this game long ago. After all, GW2 have become a game that punish player for not playing and turning temporal content into permanent content is against that.
At most we will get more poorly implemented fractals but I’m pretty sure that is all.
-ArenaNet
Guest to BG, TC, NS, FA, JQ or any other top tier server (personally I recommend BG).
Go to http://us.gw2stuff.com and select the desired server (you can monitoring your home server and the other servers you chose). Event with a yellow timer are “in windows”. Events in a yellow frame are ongoing.
Do all temples and dragons (and the karka queen).
I did it for 1 week and ended with 2500 DO’s and like 150g

Welcome to RNGWars2.
-ArenaNet
2014 is going to be an amazing year for GW2 and the community!
Chris
You shouldn’t say anything like this.
You guys made the manifesto, a lots of idiots (like myself) bought it and then you said it was false and not to be take it seriously.
In 2012 you promised a expansion-worthy of new content for the first months of 2013 and you give us Scarlet -_-
Also, unless you fix all the Dynamics Events currently bugged or make a true profession balance, any new content (including a full-permanent expansion) will be pointless.
-ArenaNet
-More Scarlet (because… I can’t say it here).
-A new tier above Ascended (or a way to screw those who chose to ignore ascended gear).
-New lvl cap (because every other games always increase the lvl cap and GW2 is a different game that must do what other games do).
-More bugs (lots and lots of new bugs).
-More Rush or Lose content (or a new way to punish players for not playing daily).
-More RNG.
-And finally the retirement of the necromancer as a playable profession (because nerfs are not enough anymore).
-ArenaNet
I know that feel OP.
Today, for whatever reason, I decided to try WoW and it was awful. I quit in like 15-20 mins.
The static combat (and the slow/simple animations attached to it), the hideous-cartoonish graphics, the weird slow-motion jump, the massive amount of crap on-screen, the lack of dodge and many other things make it unplayable for me.
Some people complaint about hearts in GW2 but the traditional “exclamation over-the-head” quests are just so outdated and statics (hearts can be completed by doing so many things).
Also, the “oh no, that guy pick up that quest item first, now I have to wait or look somewhere else” was a total WTF! I totally forgot about that “feature” and that’s when I closed the game a proceeded to uninstall it.
There is only 2 things WoW is infinitely superior to GW2:
1) The game is so old you can run it very smoothly at the highest setting (still, the game looks like crap but not having a FPS drop is always nice).
2) The camera. Is so good you feel inside the game when you’re playing, unlike GW2 which not only have one of the worst camera in the industry, when playing you feel like playing with a miniature model.
So yes, if you ignore the obsession of ArenaNet with lame NPC’s, RNG and Grinding, there is not other game (at least as far as I’m aware) that can compete with GW2.
-ArenaNet
Well this is where you are dead wrong. They took everything away from the GW1 players. An MMO without continuous development is a dead MMO. They killed off GW1 for GW2.
But that was ok as they promised us a better Guild Wars. Not a better WoW as 99% of other MMOs did. And that s exactly why so many of us are disappointed, angry or just sad as a game that was supposed to be a revolution slowly and surely, over the course of the year became just as bland and boring as any other MMO.
The “living world” besides a few farm spots is dead. Most events are constantly in their fail state. The living story is horrible and the lore is in the trashcan. WvW is a lagzergfest of buff fields and blobs and dont even get me started on sPvP.
Sure some things are improving but as a whole from a standpoint of a GW1 player that believes in the core principles set in that game GW2 is a gigantic disappointment.
