Anyone care to give a rundown of the noteworthy stuff?
The livestream showed us everything we can do, I think, during the Dragon Bash Festival.
One thing some people have asked about was how long the fireworks finale is where we receive the dragon helmet. It sounded like it lasts around 5 minutes. Fireworks displays occur every two hours during the first weekend of Dragon Bakitten costs 100,000 Zhaitaffy for Dragon Wings? Unless that was the Mini…I forget. The special mini Moa with helmet will only be available from Moa Racing during the Festival. They didn’t really say what you can buy with tickets won from racing after the Festival.
Dragon Coffers are supposed to drop quite frequently from the Holographic Emitters in open world, it seems.
Pinatas are in every city, they drop Zhaitaffy.
Um…that’s all I remember. Hope that helps. =)
It does. tyvm
Fishing.
The game could use a new form of time-sinking. Anything made to placate the bored so-called “hardcore” players will be devoured in a couple of days or weeks, and then they’ll be bored again. Fishing is the perfect time-sink for the casual players, and if properly implemented will provide a long-term enjoyable addition to the game.
I don’t like fishing in real life and hated fishing in WoW. What makes you think I’d want to fish in GW2?
I don’t care if you want to fish in GW2, I do. And so do a lot of other players.
Did you have anything else against fishing other than a “I personally don’t like X, so X should never be added to the game” mentality? Or was that it?

So already 2+ months of waiting for balance patch? Great 1 month more. I just hope that this balance patch will give some SERIOUS changes, not like previous that was just destroying game. But what i want to expect. Already know that they again focus on usless turrets, that no1 using.
If turrets are considered useless and no one is using them, would that not be the perfect place to start when it comes to balancing the game?
In addition to profession favoritism, Anet is now showing server favoritism!? OUTRAGE!!!
j/k. That was cool of them to do. I’d be interested in any details you can remember, even if they are tentative. And please, for the love of God, tell me they said “no” to open world dueling. Please tell me they said no open world dueling.

Most of the people that complain here on the forums aren’t casual players, so you’re kinda preaching to the wrong crowd. What you’re describing as features, will simply seem like a waste of time to any player looking for a challenge, in PvE. Sure there are plenty of things you can do. The problem is a lack of content that offers any attentive to requirements, and goals to strive for. Fractals is the only thing worth mentioning. Everything ells is simple just “something to do”. That is the problem.
The entire point of video games is to give us “something to do”.
Silver Doubloons just went up to 94s.
I’m leaving the game soonish. This is unacceptable.
Already signed up for TESO closed beta.
I hate to say this because it might come across as condescending, and that’s not my intention, but if the pursuit/possession of a cosmetic item is the only thing keeping you playing then you would probably be better off looking for a game you find more fulfilling.
Unless you just don’t enjoy the character, I’d head to the elementalist sub-forum for tips on improvement before abandoning the profession altogether.
I could care less about a Legendary weapon, so, I’m unconcerned.
Then why did you bother posting in the topic?
Dude, u serious?
My wife is farming 100 of those for the Dwayna Longbow. And she got 87 charged lodestones during last 30 days. I played like 30 times CoE, she played 30 times CoE, we farmed sparks a bit, asked our guildmates to donate some lodies…It’s really not that hard to get them, still they ARE farmable at CoE or Sparx or FoTM.
And look – 100 Charged lodestones cost almost the same amount of gold as 250 Doubloons and only charged are farmable. Think about it.
Anyway, there are more and more ppl out there leaving the game because of that enormous grindfests. We are getting nuked with hundreds of skins/cosmetics/adds instead of challenging content and adult lore. The living story was a total joke and slap in the face…. Do something with that game or there will be: TP skyrocketing = leaving members skyrocketing.
Of her 87 loadstones, how many were donated by you or guildmates? Your answer will go a long way towards supporting or invalidating your claim that they’re “really not that hard to get”.
I want player housing, but not in the form of the Hall of Monuments. It would feel too much like Superman’s fortress of solitude.
The quaggan remind me of Doofus from DuckTales. I don’t want to play as Doofus.
A warrior, a ranger, and a necromancer. I’d spec the warrior for melee combat, giving him a mix of offensive power and defensive staying power. I’d spec the ranger as a glass cannon ranged combatant. And I’d spec the necromancer for area of effect and condition damage. This would give me three distinctive play-styles, allowing me to mix things up depending on my mood.
I made five characters, one of each race and each a different profession. I built each character so that it had a style of play that differed from all my other characters. I kept each character within a specific region until he had cleared the every zone in that region, then I rotated them to new regions. All of this allowed me to switch play-styles and scenery on a whim, meaning the game never really grew stagnant.
Basil leaves, bell peppers, and gingers roots are great and all, but I haven’t visited these guys since the week the game was released. I’ve seen many suggestions about making these vendors worth visiting again; the one I liked best was making all X in Bulk items available after they’ve been unlocked at their respective Renown Heart NPCs. I don’t really care what you do with them, as long as you do something.
If the game is fun, playing should be reward enough. If the game isn’t fun, then you should find something else to do with your free time. It really is that simple.
So basically you want everyone to login just for the scenery and to watch some NPC’s do some dialog everyday?
That’s not even remotely close to what I said. Try reading it again.
I don’t get rewarded for my time doing even the things they want me to do much less the farming in this title.

I would so love it if people read everything and not just bits at random.
I AM NOT A FARMER. I DO play the game the way it is intended to be played. I go everywhere, I do dungeons, I do DE’s, I WvW, I do fractals.
AND GUESS WHAT? The loot has been nerfed everywhere, making it very hard for me to gather gold. This is comparison to doing exactly the same stuff three months ago and having saved up 400g.
That is my point. Again. It is not about farming, it is about ANet consistently lowering rewards everywhere every time there is patch in order to try and drive people to the cash shop.
I understand what you’re saying. My point is this: if you play the game because you enjoy the game, then the farming nerfs will never be more than a minor inconvenience. If you enjoy the game, then expensive cosmetic items are luxuries. And while luxuries are nice – I myself am slowly working on a Legendary – they do not make or break a game. Thus farming nerfs, real or perceived, won’t make or break the game.
Well, for all those crafting The Juggernaut – bad news.
Silver Doubloons skyrocket up to 80s30c from 47s00c in the last 5 days.
The real bad news is I just sold 15 silver doubloons last week!
I’m not without sympathy for those of you trying to get The Juggernaut. It’s just that my gold > your Legendary. I’m sure you understand.
watch anet nerf cof p1 again
I sure hope so. I don’t think there should be one right answer and 23 wrong ones when it comes to running dungeons for gold.
Yes bosses have aoe that doesn’t mean your pet has to die. I have no points in beastmaster and it very rare that my pets are out of commision. Guard gives 10seconds of protection. Very few bosses kill pets with a single aoe if they have protection. With a 15 second recharge your pet is without it for 5 seconds not including the 2 seconds you can get from dodge if traited.
If you dont want to use guard fine, but dont kitten that your unable to keep your pets alive and are unwilling to keep you damage % up. Becuase you have chosen to use some other skill that cant compare to keeping your pet alive.
This is direct at you Taran Redleaf but all those rangers who dont even try to keep thier pets up or let them sit there like a dead arm.
What you’re saying is we have a choice between giving up 33% of our utility skills or 50% of our damage output. If no other class is forced to make that decision, why should rangers?
This isnt about “farming” and you people are making me angry…its common sense.
Would we like you when you’re angry?
Its not about farming, its about reward for your play time. I would expect anyone to be abkle to craft a legendary with between 9 months and a year of play time. This also used to be well within reach. Now it is not..
If you did the things you enjoyed instead of grinding for gold or materials you’d be rewarded each and every time you logged on. If you only log on to chase the carrot you’re always going to be beating your head against the wall.
What exactly do these do? Do they have a greater chance at harvesting a larger yield (two or more per swing)? Do they have a greater chance at granting more swings at the node? Or do they have a greater chance at yielding unidentified dyes (plant nodes) or gemstones (sapling and ore nodes)? Thanks.
Bear in mind Mug is in the Power trait line. Not the Toughness trait line. Not the Vitality trait line. Not the Healing trait line. The power trait line. Its original, sole purpose was to add damage to the Skill ability. So why is healing shoehorned in? What sense does Mug, an attack in the Power trait line, healing make?
Mug was to powerful for where it was on the trait line. If they revert it, it should be moved to master or grand master.
Personally Mug should be changed to something else. Stardrift said stun? Might be OP but it sounds nice. Steal should do damage with out a trait, not a lot of damage, maybe 1500 or 2k.
I have no problem moving it to Master or Grandmaster. I have no problem reducing the damage. I have no problem with any number of the other things they could have done to bring it in line if it was deemed too powerful.
What I do have a problem with, however, is changing is making it something it’s not supposed to be. What part of the word “mug” as it relates to “stealing” says “healing”? It was created to be make Steal inflict damage. And now it’s been twisted to make Steal into a heal as well? It makes no sense. And, as I said, it’s potential as an opener is greatly diminished; you either don’t open with Steal and save your heal or you open with Steal and waste your heal.
Whatever you (“you” being no one specific) think of your understanding of the trait, the class mechanic, or the game in general, I think you’re wrong to defend Mug as a heal.
Lol if you think some traits are in the wrong trees or thief has horrible traits, I’ll direct you to necro, ranger, and elementalist.
Where did I say traits are in the wrong tree? Where did I say Thief has horrible traits? If you’re going to “lol” at someone, you’d do well to make sure you’ve actually read and comprehended what it is they’re saying.

As I have recently run out of my own supply of t6 dust this thread caught my eye. I have not farmed too extensively anywhere but I do have a simple question.
Sure the stationary location farming spots have been nerfed to be less effective than before, but can you not just farm the zone by moving around and still loot the dusts?
I see outrage because of a “spot” or two are not worth it anymore, but I can’t believe that dust is completely unobtainable anymore unless those spots become active again.
That could be the root of it; people getting upset that their easy button was removed. I’m not saying they don’t have a case, I don’t know. I do know there’s a lot of histrionics on this board, and most of it stems from an extreme level of of shortsightedness.
I’m hoping Mug is reverted back to what it was. I open most fights with Steal. Doing so makes health recovery on Steal 100% worthless to me. A hard hitting critical hit with Steal, on the other hand, was fantastic. Sooo….yeah, hoping for a reversion for Mug.
In an effort to curb precursor prices the devs announced that they are working on a scavenger hunt. Now everyone and their mother is hogging t6 mats like it’s going out of style awaiting the hunt.
An excellent point and one I hadn’t considered.
I don’t think Blasting Staff needs to be tweaked, but I wouldn’t complain if it also made Area of Effects from sta kitten last longer in addition to making them bigger.
They haven’t made any forest fires recently that had to be extinguished fast. AMA’s are nothing but crowd control measures.
False. They also serve as kindling for new forest fires.
I don’t know if the API makes it possible to get the location of orich/ancient/omnomberry nodes, but I’m looking for an API website to replace Orrmaps since that site is rarely accurate for my server. I’d also be interested if there’s one you guys are using to track World Boss events other than temple. Thanks.
Now? I haven’t been able to get them from anywhere other than the Trading Post for months! Okay, that’s a bit of hyperbole, but I do find my constant shortage of chocolate bars quite frustrating. And to answer your specific question, I don’t have any idea where people get these things in any worthwhile quantity.
Just because it’s used a lot, doesn’t mean it should have the lowest cost. If it’s rarity is the same as the other T6 mats, and it’s used more, logically it should actually cost more.
Logically. Too bad logic isn’t something that’s used in many of these “ArenaNet is the devil” threads.
I wouldn’t be upset if 20 fine crafting materials (level appropriate, of course) were added as rewards to zone exploration chests. These would, ideally, drop in addition to the 40 common crafting materials. And those who have already cleared zones would need to be compensated accordingly. I doubt there’s a player on earth who wouldn’t appreciate such a change.
I feel sorry for the new players I really do.
Sure you do.
There’s nothing there for them, how does anyone expect them to get enough gold to actually get the runes/ sigils they need to play normally in PVE end game?
Let’s assume your being genuine when you say you’re concerned about new players. I doubt you are, but we’ll assume you are:
New players are players who aren’t level 80 and who aren’t going to be concerned with purchasing Superior Sigils/Runes of Whatever. The sigils/runes they’re going to be getting, if any, are minor and major. Most (all?) minor and major sigils/runes are very, very cheap. They’ll gain more than enough money to purchase them in the course of playing normally. And by the time they’re ready for Superior Sigils/Runes, they’ll no longer be new players and thus they can afford them the same way the rest of us do.
Thanks for this. Reasonable explanations like this are sort of what’s missing from the dialogue between Anet and the fans. I don’t know too many people who could argue against this.
I haven’t read past this post, but I’m willing to bet they did argue against it.
Edit: I agree with you, it’s a perfectly reasonable explanation. But I’m willing to bet it will be lost on those who just want to complain.
Ask Me Anything thread on reddit
I don’t honestly remember these ever being semi-regular. Izzy did 2-3 way back at the beginning of the game but they definitely weren’t regular. The PvP team still does their State of the Game every month which is like a video AMA if that’s what you mean.
Ah, I see. Thank you. To that end, with the way this community overreacts to literally everything, I would never, ever do an AMA if I were in Anet’s shoes.
Forgive my ignorance, but what’s an AMA?
I believe their stance on E3 is “no”. Something to the effect of it’s media-only, and they’ll only do events if they get the chance to interact with actual players.
Dev’s…. lower the damage to defense ratio. You are out of control!
Or you can try something other than 30/30/x/x/x with full Berserker’s.
j/k. I’d wager it’s not the damage output that’s killing people in most cases, it’s the sheer number of mobs that spawn and bumrush the settlements.
seems like its better put some kitteny hats to TP insted of balancing game. They said about at least one change per class, and they need more than 1,5 month from last balance patch?
what a kitten company.
The guys making the hats aren’t the same guys balancing the game. Calm down. Take a deep breath. Everything’s going to be alright.
I thought the balance patch was due to drop at the very end of June.
Well, hopefully around the time Dust hits 1g/per, Anet will realize they’ve screwed up.
Sitting on 300 dusts
/licks fingers
It’s really the same thing that goes on with Charged Cores/Lodestones. They’re not all that rare…it’s just that they’re used in SO MANY THINGS. ANet really needs to balance out the supply of things like this.
As someone who is stockpiling the fairly-easy-to-obtain Omnomberries for Kudzu, I feel a great deal of sympathy for those who have to go the loadstone route for their Legendary-specific gifts.
I am about to boil in rage!
The idea of swords, magic, dwarfs, centaurs, etc. truelly belongs to Mideval European Mythology and NOT Asian Mythology.
I do not want to see any more Asian themes or I will scream and quit (just like I did with WoW)
It’s not about Asian mythology, it’s about an already-established area of the Guild Wars world being removed for external, political reasons.
How cool would it be if the last firework show in LA was crashed by a real dragon, kicking off a dynamic event against the dragon and his minions in the city.
I want to know why there’s a achievement to hunt down Zhaitans minions but there’s no slayer achievement for branded.
I’d guess they’re saving that for the Kralk expansion.
This suggestion is made often. To my knowledge it’s never been addressed by a developer. Other than effort, I see no reason not to implement a mini-pet slot in our Hero panel. I’d like a simple “we’re working on it” or “not going to happen” from a dev so we can lay this to rest once and for all.
