Elemental Attunement definitely changes the way you play, even if you haven’t outright noticed it (probably because you’ve always used it). I’d say it’s pretty build-defining, as such it fits a grandmaster trait.
In pvp, the only viable builds swap attunements constantly. The design of the profession favours it as well. The builds that do not incentivize swapping attunements are among the troll builds category like lava tomb build.
I love my lava tomb troll build. Nothing quite like seeing thieves die to your 5k downed lava tomb ticks. Pity they nerfed it with HoT
There is no connection, and no specialist anti-dragon abilities. The name fails.
‘Hate’? What are you, 12? This is not twitter, son.
People are allowed to have an opinion over the name. Personally, I think it is very weak. There is no dragon hunting specialisation there.
It is Karl…so expecting bad things.

Maybe future the group content favors healing power in several encounters. Maybe heals can crit in future.
Trait would still suck, unless it had a massive percentage attached.
I have little confidence in Karl…

What about the THIRD Arcana Grandmaster trait?
Eles are missing an actual melee style. Dagger is more hybrid.
so what do you think would go with that style, keep in mind it seems likely they will get 5 skills of whatever it is.
Not sure. Shouts, maybe? Or thief Deception skills.

Stop matching weapons to professions. Necros do not use shields.
chronomancers the weapon came last, and since it was an offhand it couldnt define the spec anyhow.
i think jobs with two hand weapons will see the most symmetry.
its possible im wrong, time will tell.
Maybe. But I seriously doubt the Tempest will be like the Mesmer. They would be far too similar.

tl;dr version of this thread
- Beta portal items are still dropping
- If you got a beta portal, you are guaranteed one-time (at least) closed beta access
- Signing up for the newsletter is only necessary so that you receive info about upcoming closed betas
- Lots of player entitlement worries about not getting in; if you didn’t get a portal (like me), you are not in the beta. You will neither be compensated for not being in the beta. You probably earned a lot of gold farming either SW or DT, there’s your reward.
Horrible summary that misses the key point about the newsletter AND insults players.

Base healing will stay at 0. There is no reason to put it at 1000.
Seems like all the gorillas lived in the Orr area, so died to the various catastrophes.
Good question… There’s another thing that always bugs me: wheel ruts. There are various places where there are fresh wheel ruts in the road, but never a cart in the area, only Dolyak caravans. And the only moving carts in the game are floating….
Wheeled carts would have been used before the dirty asura came along, I guess.
It is currently only works with Soothing Mist. So yeah, it sucks.
The funny thing is even soothing mist works for 8 seconds with or without lingering elements.
So no, even this doesn’t work with it.(check it if u dont believe me :p)
It does work with it. Tested it ages ago. How much time it adds depends on when you swap out of water, because of how Soothing Mist works.
The female outfit is pretty weak. Seems like a more generic version of human cultural armour.
“Awful, this is objectifying! It’s dehumanizing. We are not pieces of meat. Everyone happy with this is basically encouraging institutionalised sexism! Hur hur hur!”
-every thread on female skimpy armor.
Also why the hell is this an outfit? It really looks like armor and it should be armor.
Needs to be about 50 more skimpy male armours/outfits before you can make that post.
I am off the view that the Centaur wiped them out. It is something they would totally do, to deny humans their use.
This has been speculated on before. It also raises other issues, to do with power, like if Humans had had horses, the Charr would have been crushed when they attacked – and not what happened in the story. Human armies with access to large amounts of heavy, plated cavalry would have rolled over the top of the Charr legions – or any one else for that matter.
Not having horses, but many references to horses all over the place, immediately raises the question: Where are all the horses? Even if you don’t need them for transport, their military application is undeniable, and would be a huge advantage.
Heavy cavalry would suck in the Guild Wars world. Light cavalry on the other hand…
The longbow will have 5 knockback skills that are only usable in PvE, and only when the enemy mob is perfectly positioned. The elite specialisation shall be called Ranger+.
The ESC key is in no way reliable for this.
Of course Asura are mice and Sylvari are talking cabbages. Haven’t you ever idled at the camp in the Silverwastes? :P
This. Not sure why people are saying Charr call humans mice. Something I am missing in the Charr story?
Also, if Mordremoth can attack the mother tree at the grove, he can attack anywhere.
Umm, the builds you used before will use the same gear now. Thats not getting changed.
Now new builds will use new gear stats but that hasn’t changed since the dawn of the game.
If your build and gear isn’t considered “meta” when the patch hits then thats your fault for following meta and not just playing a spec and gear you enjoy.
This is not true at all. Many builds rely on getting different stats from their traits than what is on their armour.
Whether you realize it or not, that was poor build design, and maybe why they are removing stats from lines altogether. People were unaware they were making bad builds. Picking a trait was always more beneficial than picking a stat. You might make some argument that there wasn’t enough useful traits so then it just went to stats, but they’ve given the impression this might be remedied by removing some of the useless traits, and making some of the lackluster one’s default skill changes (larger AoE on symbols for example).
Ok?
Many builds relied on the stats from traits to supplement their gear, which had different stats.

You can almost smell the price of charged lodestones exploding.
For the ghost slaying potions, right?
This sounds similar to the theorised code that gives returning players monster drops. Both sound like something Anet would do, to get people to play.
Got a friend who is completely banned from the forums, yet he still got the email for the last beta test.
Thank you. Will tell my brother.
The vast majority of players are “banned” from the forums. Everyone that hasn’t logged in to the forums before has not accepted the agreement and thus cannot access them.
If they were going to reject people for not being able to access the forums, that would include most people. Regardless, you can use the in-game tool to submit beta reports. If you still want to leave feedback, post it on reddit or gw2guru – the devs are also there.
Lastly, what you do on the forums can affect your game account, but only in extreme cases.
People in the beta will obviously be directed to the forums…
I remember blizzard did it with one WoW beta, as the forums were where 95% of the feedback was taken.
It is currently only works with Soothing Mist. So yeah, it sucks.
Is it just me or is there an absurd disconnect between the title and the original post…?
Original post was deleted. Look at the name of the thread starter.
Dry Top has easier mobs, and they can drop loot. Silverwastes has more event chains, but many mobs who cannot drop loot.
As long as the player in question can still play the game, that player still has a chance to get the drop and thereby get access to the beta.
That said, the drop rate is still fairly low, so no it’s not a conspiracy to stop him from getting a portal key because he can’t behave on the forums.
Hope this clears things up.
You do not get it either. I am not saying this is a conspiracy or anything like that. It would be perfectly reasonable for Anet to not take forum banned people in a closed beta, which is why I am asking this question.
However, due to the nature of the way accounts are flagged, I doubt they did it. But that small chance made me ask.
Going into people’s accounts and altering their drop tables because they broke forum rules is petty and a forum ban doesn’t stop people from reporting bugs in game or posting on the forum for that matter.
1) bugs found in the betas are best reported in game, not the forum
2) people who are banned from the forum can buy an alt account and use that to post. In fact, people do that already
3) they can ask a friend or guildie or family member to post what they want to say.
I am pretty sure you neither understand what the word petty means, nor why a forum ban matters. Being able to post feedback is very important, so Anet restricting beta access to those who can actually post on the forums would not be at all petty. Many game companies do this, so I was wondering whether Anet has done it as well.
I DOUBT they have done it, but my brother is out there grinding like a mad man, so I want to be sure he is not wasting his time.
Wanting people who can actually post on the forums in their beta is not petty…
The beta portal is grinding.
It says:
- All events
- creature drops
So a creature drop has a chance of also having the portal item. Most event mobs in Silverwaste give no drops, so have no chance. The event chest can contain it, though.
My brother was banned from the forums back when you banned half the WvW playerbase for fighting and complaining about hackers. Can he get the portal, or are people banned from the forum ineligible? I assume forum feedback is an important part of the beta, which is why I am asking.
Finally got my portal after 22 hours of farming over the last 3 days
is that from a bandit chest ?
sure looks like it to me.Nope, protecting a mule
how you do that when event mods dont drop[ loot?
The Dolyak event mobs do drop loot.
Actually, that quote would mean they do NOT drop them. They have no creature drops.
Just when you go to sell them, Anet will bring them back for 1 ticket. It is the Anet way.
Nice. Completely agree. As it stands, eles are once again locked into Water for pvp, due to no added condition cleanses.
I agree with OP. Except of Caithe and Faolain any other relationship, especially Kasjory, is forced and out of place for me.
I’ve already elaborated about terrible execution of story in this game in my thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/I-don-t-like-DE-2-0/
I don’t find many people to agree with here. I think that while there are minorities in the world and I don’t have any need to punish them for being different, the modern world came to the point where the most persecuted are 25-35 white males for not being a representant of any minority. This is sad and GW2 is a great example of weird times we’re living now.
wut
The most persecuted in the US are the minorities. Same with most countries. White males are the most privileged people in the world.
Yes, the event mobs will have a chance of dropping the Beta Portal, just like they have a rare chance of dropping loot now(very rare mind you).
They do?
Well the bull event mobs do dont they?
Yep. But the defend the forts and laz0r plant events do not.

This is from the Elementalist forum:
For a celestial ele, ferocious winds is 0.07 * 738 = 51 extra ferocity. This corresponds to about a 0.47% dps boost without fury and a 0.86% dps boost with fury.
For a zealot ele, ferocious winds is 0.07*576 = 40 extra ferocity. This corresponds to about a 0.84% dps boost without fury and a 1.16% dps boost with fury.
For a berserker ele, ferocious winds is 0.07*0 = 0 extra ferocity. This corresponds to about a 0.00% dps boost without fury and a 0.00% dps boost with fury.
So a mighty, mighty DPS increase.

We have Logan/Rytlock.
EEEEEwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Pineapple chunks!
Yes, we know that…
I want to know if Silverwaste event mobs drop the portal, seeing as they drop zero loot.
