You know you reached boredom when :

Ranique is the embodiment of all the reasons I don’t use reddit.
I dont mind which stats people bring. I would like it if they would be ok to change atlest one skill on there bar that would make me happy. Something like putting on a wall of reflect, smoke screen u’know stuff like that is what Ill ask for
Pssh, you filthy elitist!! j/k, I had a blast on our fractal run the other day. If I stay up past my bedtime again, I’d love to run some more with ya
I assume NA because of EST — but you might want to be explicit
Best of luck, these sorts of events are always fun!
Reading through the dev tracker, Gaile seems feistier than normal.
I like it
Oh, and you’re playing too little. You still sleep, you philthiekazul.
who cares amiright?
You are correct, sir.
We could use a Justin/Evan/Josh for dungeons :-(
But I guess that has the prerequisite of a team actively working on dungeons.
We can dream.
Nipped that one in the bud quickly.
The pigs are getting restless indeed, but they shall remain terrestrial for yet another day.
inb4 dub gets a permaban for ’sploits while The Hated One walks free.
The npcs are ok , the problem now is that they try to “exploit” everything in dungeons and not doing things like are supposed to do
A wild guess…is your name Mike?
You remind me of a Mike, my VideoGamer friend.
I could be wrong, there’re plenty o’ fish out there.
Sometimes I’ll start a sentence, and I don’t even know where it’s going. I just hope I find it along the way. Like an improv conversation. An improversation.

10/10. How apropos.
Nice!
Love the guild name, too xD
The last boss encounter needed to have the mob spawns tweaked a little bit.
…so they kittencanned the entire path.
BTW, if you’re feeling adventurous, traces remain. I took the attached screenshot about 3 weeks ago :-)
I’m sure this thread will have the same amazing results as the other communication threads, but figured I’d put this here as it’s quite relevant.
Why did you have to wait for HoT to just pop on and say “We recognize that this is a problem and are working to fix it.”
Do you realize how much nicer it would be if we were to receive timely information? Is that asking too much?
I realize that there was a hint about this given a couple of weeks ago by Gaile, but that was still 70-some odd pages into this thread — about 8 months since this thread started.
That’s eight months widening the gap of distrust between ArenaNet and it’s players. Eight months of rage that could have been avoided from the start by just engaging with us in a timely manner. Seriously, ask yourselves — is this how you want your company to present itself to its players?
I hope that post-HoT, the need to wait for every meaningful communication to require hype and theatrics is gone.
Please ArenaNet? Acknowledging that the new trait system “wasn’t right” for GW2 would not have spoiled HoT in any way.
This is why we don’t trust you.
The original speech was too confusing for newer players.
(sorry, someone had to ;P)
I’m sure it’s still on a table, maybe they could let us know how deeply buried it is, though.
Just checking in — it’s been a couple months since we’ve heard anything.
Any updates?
/waits for dlonie or someone else to link the thread post providing the evidence because I am lazy
Sorry, I’m slackin’ today.
Here’s you go OP. Bask in the sadness with us:
ANet: No plans for new dungeons.
ANet: Maybe we can fix some bugs though?
Nike — it still happens. I’ve seen both Hodgins and Detha bug out in the not-too-distant past. Not sure if Tzark still gets iffy before the p3 burrows, haven’t seen that in a while.
Just throwing this out there, I did my first SW bandit chest train yesterday.
Holy crap. 600 dragonite ore and 40 obsidian shards in about an hour. Ascended gear just got a whole lot easier!
OP, this isn’t going to change. If you want to play a level 50, you need to get the proper gear, and that will take time.
They’re not going to just invalidate all of the work players have done to get to max FotM level. Oh, wait… #NeverForget
And re: DPS meters, it’s a grey area that ArenaNet wants to keep grey, for some reason. They recently said that such things are OK as long as they don’t “give the player a gameplay advantage.”
But since they refuse to clarify what qualifies as an advantage, we don’t really know. I wouldn’t consider knowing a boss’s exact HP or showing DPS statistics to be an advantage, but it is information that is not directly available to everyone. Where’s the line?
:-/
Some of the people I see posting that we are not getting new dungeons also said that there would never be an expansion.
But Dramen, there isn’t going to be an expansion. They’re just trollin’ with HoT :-P I also know certain people (cough) who were convinced that there would be a new dungeon in Dry Top before it came out ;-)
Since I know this was, at least partially, directed at me, I’ll clarify what I said about the expansion:
Unless they explicitly confirm it, don’t assume it’s going to happen.
That was my stance towards the expansion, and it’s how I view the possibility of dungeons. Don’t assume that ArenaNet is going to do what makes sense — wait for confirmation to get your hopes up.

When they said instanced on that stream they meant the objects are only affected on the local client. So if another player does the event at the same time they do not burn the same vines as you. Its like gathering nodes. If someone else mines a node you can still mine it yourself. Its localised and not server side. “Instanced to you”. Its not really the correct term. But thats what they meant.
Well…
…kitten.
Nevermind then.
The Adventures thing does have a chance to be something good, I think. Considering:
- They’re meant to replace hearts. Most of them will need to be on the easy side of things, as this is for open world PvE’rs. If they decide to put in some actual decent boss fights in just a few of them as well, that’s something I’d like to see.
- They can be instanced. Imagine a world boss where you can start up an instance for you solo, your 5 man party, or your 500 man guild. Depending on how they decide to tune scaling, these could potentially be like fractal shards without the RNG.
- They demo’d the first one in the starter area. I hope this is why it looked like more of a faceroll tutorial than a challenge. If some of the encounters are instanced and challenging, I’d enjoy it. I can potentially see them putting in something like a dungeon path as an Adventure. It sounds like a really flexible system that, if done right, could satisfy both casuals and elitists.
I’d like to see more about the reward system as well. But even with no significant reward, optionally instancing open world bosses would be an improvement.
Where does it say it can be instanced? The Adventure they showed us was clearly open world
Listen to the whole thing (I know, I know…it’s sorta painful) — they mention it a couple of times in the livestream.

Classic. 10/10. Would kick again.
Why do people never ask me for my rank? Or a 1v1?
Right, I’m not pugging.
Or my favorite: “Fight me irl”
Makes me think of a greasy fat kid chugging a two liter of mountain dew while their mom’s passed out on the couch behind them.
Not sure why.
FWIW, GW2 runs beautifully under wine. It’s not the same as a native client, but it works very, very well.
As I said in the “OMG Y U NO DX12??!?!” threads, I really don’t think they need to put resources towards updating/porting the graphics API, I’d rather see them work on new content.
Priorities.
For engi, you invoke the turret blasts by detonating them (pressing the appropriate F1, F2, F3, F4 after the turret is deployed).
So for healing turret:
1) press 6 to deploy
2) do not press 6 again to overcharge the turret (This will put out a water field, which can interfere with what you’re trying to blast).
3) Press F1 to detonate. This will trigger the blast.
Rifle turret is similar to healing turret, just different buttons.
Thumper turret is your best blaster. To fully utilize it:
1) Deploy the turret.
2) Overcharge the turret.
3) Detonate (you’ll get 2 blasts here if you overcharge, one otherwise)
4) Use the tool belt skill for a third blast.
I’m still somewhat noob at engi, if anyone spots an error on my part, feel free to correct it
Hate to break it to you, but we’ve been trying to get simple things like rewards rebalanced since launch. Same with bugfixes. Hell, you can still skip Lupi.
The “fix” to instance ownership took a year and a half, and made things worse.
The “fix to the fix” broke things even more and was reverted within hours of going live.
Sorry, but your suggestions are way beyond ArenaNet’s abilities. TBH, making any suggestion dealing with dungeons is futile.
:(
Revive orbs revive defeated players.
Players used revive orbs to revive when defeated.
Yes. Ban those dirty cheaters.
O.o
Entry 1:
Z: “Show me a video of Shaman done without reflects.”
“Here you go!”

Entry 3:

Entry 4:

Z: “I never said you had to have reflects!”
We know rangers and necros aren’t wanted in high end fractals. But that’s not what you’ve been arguing — you been making wild statements that repeatedly demonstrate your ignorance of many aspects of the game, and then get hyperdefensive and obnoxious when people try to show you the truth. Take a deep breath, count to 10, something…you’re not going to convince anyone of anything with your current attitude.
If you can’t discuss things with a modicum of reason and open-mindedness to discuss things without grasping at straws to defend a position that has been proven wrong…then please — just live up to your word:
[You folks will] get no further replies [from me]. Bye.
What the first two replies are trying to say: Go back through the first 5 pages of this forum. You’ll find at least 4 threads with the same complaint, and even a few spreadsheets compiling droprates from a large sample of fractal runs. Look at the FractalsScience link in Veckna’s signature for the most complete dataset I’m aware of.
Don’t wanna? I’ll summarize:
Fractal rewards are kitten
We’ve been trying to get something done to balance this out, but don’t hold your breath.
That mossman screen is glorious.
This is so interesting: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2uz66m/fractals_of_the_moists_snowblind_firepits/
That’s….incredibly useful. We’ll need to confirm, but looks like a nice trick.
And looking at what they’ve been calling “challenging content” (Tequatl, Wurm, Marionette, etc.) it’s clear they’re not interested in creating gameplay that require individual players to learn their class well, but rather gameplay that challenges a large group’s organizational skills — where each individual player is basically a 1-pressing drone who needs only the ability to follow mapchat/TS instructions on where to stand when pressing 1.
100% agree. You’ve summed up my thoughts well.
I wonder how the agony would work at -50.
It heals a fixed percentage of your HP, obvs. It’s a continuation of the NPE.
But you know, maybe I will get some stained claws or something so I’ll get that 2 copper and have that going for me.
I’m still digging Lindy’s fake patch notes that mention the “Unsalvageable Masterwork Aquabreather” rewards. That was just perfect xD
Maybe they’ll even scale down, hardcap at 30, each tier 5 levels, and weapon boxes still available only 50+.
This sounds about right.
Unless….
Let’s just go all in and say 0
maybe they’ll just negate everyone’s fractal level. “Since you FotMPR50 folks love fractals so much, now you’ll get to enjoy even more of them on your way to the new cap!”
You know, I sure do love the rewards from a level 1-10!
Then you’ll love -50 —> 0!
Clear and straightforward. Thanks Gaile.

But if the first challenge isn’t made any easier by the unlock, it’s not really power creep. It’s just pacing out the content.
Devil’s in the details, which are going to be lacking for some time.
We’ll all be at personal reward level 1 (again (again)) after HoT, so fear not! we’ll all be on the same page. Equality FTW!
#NeverForget
I haven’t gotten any infractions in months. I need to step up my game.
~0 FC is sorta nice, though…
And the real question — should I still be working on increasing my FotM level, or is it going to get reset with the introduction of masteries? :-(
Noah could use a rainbow on that one.
Well, the way they’ve implemented it falls in line with their idea of “no grind”, as I see it. You’ll earn mastery points for just playing the game, and aren’t forced to rerun the same thing over and over to build them up. I mean, you have to do something to get rewards/progression, and “no-grind” just means you’ll have a choice in what you do along the way.
And I don’t even want new fractals, unless they completely removed RNG from the picture. I want more regular themed, multipath dungeons and vendors, kitten.
I’d settle for fractals, especially now that I’m starting to play them again, but c’mon.
Ideally (from my perspective), we’d get two new dungeons with:
- 1 story + 3 explorable paths
- no “must have 4 people” gimmicks
- Beefed up versions of the AI/mechanics taken from last season’s living story
- New skins and tokens
- No RNG rewards
- All bosses required to get rewards / no invis walls / goatable
As you can imagine, I’m not getting my hopes up. I’m expecting new world bosses.
What, banned for that thread? Boo. Perm or temp?
That’ll teach you to stick up for new players.
And just a note, last night I was bored and no dungeons going on for me, so I went to SW. 4 hours later I came out with 12 dragonite ingots and still plenty of leftover obsidian shards. Not too shabby IMO.
kitten , I need to do that. Didn’t realize the farm was /that/ rich.
So we’re on the same page then?
Group hug time?
C’mere, guis….
squeeze
Where does the OP say he/she/it was a new player?
Here:
My friend and I were doing a dungeon, my first one at that….
The fact that he/she/it and his/her/its friend took screenshots to “prove” this whole thing would actually suggest against them being new.
How so?
We are also not mentioning that it takes 3 people to kick 1 person from a 5 person party. 2 other people did not agree with OP’s actions as well.
Not to nitpick, but just FYI — Unless they’ve “fixed” this again, it’s still just 2 votes to kick. There was a patch that said something about requiring 50% of the members to vote, but it was reverted within hours of going live (I think they ended up allowing 1 vote to kick in a 2 man party
). AFAIK, they haven’t touched the kick system since.
edit spoj is faster than me. Must be sploit’n.
^ Well put.
