AB multi loot can open 70-90 chests which is approximately 40-50g or more if you get good drop. My friend did 100 chest with SSD and revs+executioner axe.
Then during the AB down time you can go chop wood in malchor’s leap for an easy 5-10 gold or more depending how many alts u got.

I think it’s less to do with people catching up but rather devaluing AP over time if the cap was removed.
You’d basically make the permanent achievements worth less over time since you get 10 AP every day, forever.
Personally I have 32.4k AP and I don’t use any of the reward skins so I don’t care if people can get it easier or whatever but I’d rather they add more content which will in turn mean more AP rather than devolve the game further into daily wars 2.
Proof of heroics were added so that WvW players who wanted to complete their ELITE SPECS didn’t have to do to filthy PVE to do so.
Mediocre played multiclass will never “change the tide”. Thats where you and about 90% of all players in pvp are absolutely wrong.
I won matches with 4 thieves or 4-5 dhs. Ive lost matches where everybody logged to a perfect setup.
Its all about individual skill. And yes, proper rotations, watching minimap… all part of that “skill”. Profession however, is not.
I guess it depends on your opponent’s skills. Obviously the higher you go, the less likely you can help with an off class you’re not as good at. But in ruby, I’ve heard people just swap to eles so they have 2 ele and ‘bunker points’ and the enemy can’t do anything about it.
When your opponents are kinda bad and your team is also kinda bad (aka ruby t1) you can just turn the tide with a better comp. I mean yes better skill would also turn the tide but not everyone has the skill and sometimes even mediocrely played classes can do wonders for the team.
I lose 1v1s to good players but in general 1v1 doesn’t matter too much if you’re climbing the ladder since most the fights will be team fights and the good 1v1 players are all in diamond/legend.
What you can do is, make sure you have survivability so that you can at least stall 1v1 until you get backup. If you have to, get off the point and wait for backup/heal up, especially if it is 2v1 and you can’t hold just run if you can.
Make sure you’re running a “proper” meta build since those generally have a wide array of damage/condi cleanse etc put in which is crucial for PvP at mid-low levels where you can’t always rely on team mates.
Try and learn multi class, ele/necro/engineer/rev are all good starts if you’re average at PvP since they can change the tide of fights. Make sure you understand what the comps are on both sides so you can supplement the classes (eg. if there’s 4 necro on your team, don’t get on a necro too, an ele would be helpful).
Know when the fight is lost. Often people in Ruby commit heavily to mid and keep wiping mid feeding points. When you know the starting fight is over (eg. 2 wiped mid and you have 2 vs their 5), start disengaging and decap far if you can and tell your team to go far with you to shift the fight there. Generally lower skilled players don’t watch the map very well and over rotate (zerg) points so all you have to do is decap them back.
Know your counters. If enemy team has a condi thief, roll an engineer since they can easily counter the condi thief. Engy > DH. Necro > ele etc. Obviously these are generalizations and sometimes you can still lose with counters if they’re better players.
It’s pretty funny how you think DH is only trash at pro level.
Even in diamond/legend it is a massive liability assuming similar skill level players on both sides.
Maybe in your potato sapphire leagues it is scary scary but as people realize they have a dodge key in higher leagues DH isn’t so threatening and is considered free food.

You should go get 33k AP so you can beat tabarnarcos and be #1 on NA.
Or set some personal goals like I did which was to get 10k gold, then 20k gold etc.

In actuality there is no difference in raiders getting new raids and raiders getting nothing. To you, you will still get nothing if you don’t raid.
What other people get should not affect your enjoyment or lack thereof since it is just irrational to think this way.
It’s funny how none of the teams on the challenger leaderboard are worth anything on NA except maybe NK esports who seemed to have decayed rather than play queue wars 2. The rest aren’t even good players in solos and they can’t even beat a bunch of random legends/diamonds in a full premade gg.

I have 81 ranked games this season, they started me in Emerald because I ended last 2 in Sapphire. I have 8 wins. None were close enough together to actually progress from the start of Emerald.
Most of my guild has walked away from WvW because of the same matchup for now 5 weeks going. It’s boring. We don’t raid. PvP is a hopeless cause.
So, ANet is telling me to stop playing, and stop buying gems, until they release LS3.
If you’re stuck in emerald then it’s probably your fault man. Sure the Matchmaking™ system could use a lot of work but if you’re stuck in emerald then it’s definitely you and not the matchmaker.

Raid group is like 5 people? They’re amazing at their job and yes they churn out content quite fast.
The lack of other PvE content is entirely on those other teams and not the raid team. You should be blaming them for the lack of stuff to do outside of raids.

This season there’s been a lot less ‘getting stuck’ for me than the past. I think they’ve mostly fixed MMR hell for all but the worst players who actually are the reason they are in MMR hell.
There are still those unwinnable games here and there either because your team is worse or their team is better but not enough to constantly cause losses into a 20 loss streak or even a 10 loss streak.

I run scrapper with a few tweaks to the metabattle build. The metabattle build itself is also sufficient tbh, you only need minor tweaks if that.
I like it because it has team fight utility and it is also decently strong in 1v1s.
I remember i would queue non stop, i was almost addicted to pvp even when it didn’t give any rewards but lol glory. With consistent nerfs to thieves for years it became less and less fun. June patch definitely killed it for me. HoT launch was horrendous – i quit pvp all together for a while.
Leagues were actually a good idea imo, but really really badly designed and implemented. They are grindable and unfair to players with average/low MMR. The 50/50 algo on top of current 60%/40% MM completely took fun out of – as single player you have almost 0 impact on match outcome because odds are always so stacked against one of the teams that even if1 player afks the “winning” team will still win.
I had so much glory when they phase it out I bought like 300 80 slot bags and forged the rest into dyes (like 10 stacks?) and finished off all the PvP skins I could for wardrobe ;3

And yeah this new system I have like 0 effect on the game pretty much since it is lopsided either way. I’ve only had one really good game in the past week and it was vs 5 diamonds who were trying to break into legend, they tried super hard and it was tight/close game but those are a rarity.
I’m watching chaith’s stream and he had 26 min q in legend lol. When it pops he gets dolten, toker and himself vs a bunch of random diamonds (maybe 1 legend). Nobody wants to vs that and idk how you can incentivize people to play games which are basically unwinnable.
It’s ok once you hit legend since pip gain/loss isn’t a big deal but imagine you’re T6 or T7 diamond it’s just frustrating lol. Most people would just q dodge making for longer qs = rip.

Actually the problem is too few people in legend so they spend more time in Q than games which makes for poor streaming.
You can make them next year there’s no time limit on the backpiece, it’ll just cost a bit more next year. You can keep grinding it out and eventually get it.
ANet hasn’t broken their promise here.
Just try duo-ing or trio-ing with some friends to move past sapphire.
If you’re going to add skyhammer can you make sure the pads are client side because I rubberband a lot jumping up onto those pads and in a competitive environment like spvp it’s a massive handicap to have.
Bad ping fine I’ll deal with it but having to jump 3 times onto the launch pad before it actually moves me up will be rip.
Was getting Q pops in legend T1/2 X1 (15-35 mins) but once I hit T3 it’s over an hour queue with nothing to show for it lol.

Also I am ‘stuck ’in diamond T7 because of the q times and when they pop I get those super strong legend players stomping me haha rip. I think there aren’t enough diamonds which in turn means there aren’t enough legends to make for an active scene.
Just another day where the Qs are worse than the matches and when they pop they’re pre-decided by who has the worse “randoms” and/or comp.

I’ve seen some really good staff spamming thieves in diamond like this dude from a guild called EGG but not a single condi thief has been able to do anything.
Sure they try to run d/d and venom share or whatever but they die instantly and everyone in diamond brings some degree of condi clear and know not to stand on top of the thief doing his death blossom lol.
Yeah deserted means you were ‘disconnected’ for too long. Not sure what the timer is, think it is 2 minutes and you have to be back in the game not just loading screen.
Don’t forget you get most of the stuff just from PvP-ing or dailies. Laurels can be converted to T6 mats, if you do PvP tracks half your clovers should be done already and you get plenty of bags from PvP which give T6 too.
The only thing that might be lacking would be ectos which can easily be obtained in a few days of AB farm (PvE).
Alternatively, you can just be like my other friends who play PvP and shun the backpiece since it’s just a PvE gimmick
You, a Diamond engineer got put on teams (presumably of close enough MMR) that lost 38-500 or won 39-500. That has me very afraid for when I rank up

It’s funny because those matches had no disconnects nor did they have a diamond bringing in low ranks. The matchmaking just gives me (or the other team) someone that’s utterly horrible and loses the matches for us (or them).
Like just yesterday I had to tell an ele off for trying to 1v1 a condi war on a node owned by them when we were 3v4-ing mid (we owned it) on legacy without ele support. Stuff like this happens in diamond and yeah it loses games.

I play from Australia so the pads rubberband me hardcore that’s why I hate the map. It’s the same reason I hate those stupid mushrooms in PvE that spin me and sometimes don’t launch me up.
The thing is I was legend around this time last season and it wasn’t this bad. I’ve already cut down on PvP a fair amount and done some AB farm, TD meta, gathering runs etc instead of PvP :/. I played 5 matches yesterday and like 10 today, hardly no lifing the thing.
Then there’s those guys who only have like 60 games with long win streaks and are already in legend, can you blame them at all? They barely played !
Of course i have no pity for those premade groups that stomp solos all the way up to legend, they deserve this but they’re a minority lol
