Funny. I don’t remember saying anything about dying. There must be some mistake, either A: You can’t read, or B: You are inexperienced at the game and don’t understand how death, dying, and health work in GW2.
Seems as it’d be pretty dumb to post in an online forum if you don’t know how to read, then I’ll assume it’s the latter, so let me give you a quick explanation.
See, in GW2, when your health reaches zero, you don’t actually die, you go into a state called “the downed state”. It’s sort of an emergency back up healthbar. When this happens you become rooted to the spot, with the exception of a few skills you can use in the downed state on some classes that enable you to move while within it. These one hit K.O. attacks that the rest of us have mentioned generally put you straight into the downed state, rather than the death state.
While “downed” your skill pool is limited, but you can use the skills you are given in the downed state (which are specific to your character class) to “Rally” by managing to defeat a tagged opponent (or have someone in your party defeat them for you), and other players are able to pick you up from this downed state much quicker than the “death state” too. If you succeed at one of these tasks before your “emergency health bar” runs out, which gradually depletes while in the downed state unless you are using skill 4 (Bandage) continuously, then your character doesn’t die, gets back on their feet, and can continue to fight and play as normal.
There’s some other special rules to how the downed state works, I recommend looking at the Guild Wars 2 Wiki for further information.
Would be good troll attempt if anyone had read it. Practice that art and some day you might succeed. Tough I’ll give you a tip for that, you can’t block Rabsovich’s shockwave.
Seems like people who like to praise “play how you want” show more hatred than mean elitists.
You can level up by having someone with a higher lvl open it for you, and just do unevens so do you don’t have to face Jade Maw. You can still get to lvl 80 like that.
But for what? Cleansing Zhaitan’s corruption throughout whole Orr is much more fun and most important more rewarding. Not to mention it’s also challenging.
They should just delete pvp.
Anet introduced that ascended tier for a reason. I cannot fathom it was simply without a reason.
Umm you know that I was describing OP ? .__. And I don’t want gearcheck.
You assumed he had wanted warriors only with one mes.
I want the battle of death star. Anet pls.
All that’s going to happen is that the zerkers will stop using it, meaning that LFG PUG quality will drop more than it already has, and people will resort more and more to their contact list as a go-to for groups to run with.
“but that’s great, no more elitist scum!”
It also means slow dungeon runs that will put off newbies to dungeons, and common knowledge strategies won’t be passed down because people will carry on doing dumb stuff like stacking on the stairs for the howling king in AC rather than running in, full DPS bursting down the boss like a non-terrible group would.
And then we’ll have more tafu snafu threads.
tafu snafu?
Cause he’s the legendary Hans Olo.
“Play how you want” maxim works both way.
Let me guess. You want 4 warr + mes don’t you?
You know, you are the reason why we don’t have gear check.
That’s a bad composition. Are you still farming cof?
oh wow 13 months wasn’t enough to do that
It’s the constant struggle between forces of good and evil. It’s never too late to join the fight.
Yes, really. In particular I’m think off Raj-a-whatsit from the Dredge Fractal, at 20+ fractals I can only survive that instant KO attack if I have Protection up on my Guardian (not taking into account blocks or dodging, etc, of course).
And for SE p3, the first Dredge Boss there, his instant KO attack appears to instant KO regardless of Protection or not.
I’m only talking about the instant-KO attacks mind, not all their attacks of course.
Maybe try lower levels if you are dying with your tanky gear. You don’t need to do such high levels.
i have access to it for the last couple of days but i haven’t even tried it because anet doesn’t add any new content to play and what’s the point of old boring dungeons?
Join parties that liberates Orr from evil grasp of Zhaitan’s priest.
Anet’s designers simply innovates how you should design your epic mmo.
With the average skill level of people joining your party you could probably solo whole dungeon faster.
Those are players who aren’t used to non-hack&slash MMOs. When Anet got rid of the Trinity, that threw people off. Even I was so programmed to standing behind a tank while I cast AOE, that I wasn’t ready to combat low level mobs when Beta came out. Over time, either you learn mechanics, or you suffer by constantly dying to simple enemies.
How’s that even remotely relevant to what I said?
There are some people who don’t want to earn things with effort. They’d rather it just be given to them. We call this “Entitlement”. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as it’s human nature to want stuff. But in religious circles, Greed is one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
There are people who don’t understand simple concepts of this world. We call them differently but most often it starts with ‘c’.
I dont know why people hate ascended crafting. If you dont like it you can play with exotic, wait for a drop or build a legendary.
Explaining why would require writing an essay. Or getting banned.
Okay, to be fair, when he’s fully decked out in his tanky gear, on-times my Guardian can survive attacks that are supposed to be one-hit K.O.’s while he is under Protection. But the protection is crucial to this, which tells you that one boon is way more important than your entire gear set combined, which to be fair shows something is wrong with the game design.
Really? Because my zerker ele can get hit at least once by most of the bosses. Instagibs starts at 60-70 fractals.
Why some of you are you keep claiming bosses 1 hit you with tanky gear? List all those nasty bosses for me please.
Not even close.
Nope. You aren’t breaking a skill or glitching an animation.
So if flash worked properly it would be perfectly fine to teleport back?
In fact if I really cared about open world tier I’d unfortunately have to put the warrior as a class above [S], a class of its own, because since open world is faceroll the most important thing would probably be movement skills to quickly get through these maps and not spend too much time walking from point A to B, in which case, warriors are definitively kings, I don’t think there is anything in this game that could ever beat a warrior with traited GS, running sword/warhorn secondary, bull’s rush and signet elite. Doing map completion on any other class just feels pitiful.
SS, like in animes.
What about consumables and other “stuff”?
Huehuehue
Nice, I didn’t know about that. Good to know. Although in the event of a full chain bubble I’d probably still keep balanced stance.
Whirlwind getting you out of bubbles though sounds awfully similar to the bug that used to make dodge rolls get you out on warrior. Sounds like something that would get nerfed if made popular. Or maybe not. Because there’s no Robert Hrouda reading what we do in dungeons these days.
Not exactly, you have to use it before the bubble spawns in direction opposite to lupi. He can’t spawn the bubble outside of his range. Same thing with teleports – if you teleport but still within his range he’ll immediately change the location of the bubble. But if you teleport outside his range you won’t get trapped.
In my opinion standing still after lightning flash is just a design issue. If we kept moving it wouldn’t even change much, together with timewarp it would still fully proc.
Exactly my point. So what does it make non-legit?
A warrior might swap a couple utilities sometimes to feel safer, personally I’ve always liked endure pain for things like the Ascalon fractal depending on my confidence in the group while mowing down the trash, or for killing grubs in the grawl one, or use something like Balanced Stance or/and! Dolyak signet to escape bubbles in pugs since you will get chain bubbled at times and can’t really do it the speedclear or solo way of using zero stability. But they don’t have to retrait, dramatically change their playstyle or gear to be effective. I actually died less in pugs against things like Lupi than some of the speedrun groups I’ve had because of the fact that I have balanced stance, sword offhand etc in pugs, and I didn’t in these speedkill groups when something happens to make lupi chain bubble us.
You can even use whirlwind attack to get out of the bubble.
Both power and condition damage scale linearly. Critical damage and damage modifiers are what makes the difference.
I’m going to claim that elementalist is in D, as in downed/death state.
The amount of one hit skills could be probably counted on fingers of both hands and most of those one hits are specific boss mechanics like Crusher with Hunter in Arah. I doubt you played high enough fractals to claim every boss can instagib you with 2000 toughness.
And I’m certain 2000 toughness guardian is not as squishy as elementalist with just 1000.
It’s more than a tenth of a second. But what if flash wouldn’t make you stuck while using rush? Still being in gray area?
Like I’ve said few times before, when I first heard about rush+flash I thought that you were supposed to flash in front of your enemy after getting behind him to get more parts of trail, just like with whirl+flash. Also, keep in mind that I got 8 hits with whirl why it normally can’t hit more than 4 times. So it actually doubled the effectiveness of whirl.
I know many people consider blinking during rush as something bordeline exploit but what if teleport wouldn’t make you stuck in place?
Not to say ele wouldn’t be hard to play but I know you dislike playing with conjures only so you have access to way more things than you make it sound like. You are also aware that ele has access to vigor on crits for example, if you are not going for it that is your personal choice.
I wouldn’t mind eles getting some love if/when fgs gets changed and I do agree playing other than war/guard/mes compositions is usually the more entertaining option.
I was comparing ele to mesmer. To get vigor you have to spend 10 points in non dps line while mesmer has it basically for free.
Well actually I don’t know, I can’t think about dedicated LH gameplay, it makes me want to vomit.
+1
You must have a very short memory because there was tons of whining about how much damage Feedback does to Lupi when you guys started posting your sub-30s kills.
Forgive me for you using euphemism. I didn’t mean ‘whine’ but harsher words are getting filtered.
I agree I may have said some things that aren’t true, so I edited it, anyways, the projectile reflection is still hard to keep up, people have to actually watch wwhere my skills are going and the wardens die almost instantly when they don’t attack, wardens need to be perfectly timed to keep it up 100% of the time, and this is only against projectiles anyways. As for damage, we all know that mesmers can’t try to tip warriors even with reflects, and for defence 2 eles or a guardian suffice too, I don’t think its more skilful to use reflects, but its definitely not easier than fgs.
Have you ever played an ele? 66% less hp than mesmer, no vigor on crits, no weapon swapping and no distortion if you want to use conjures. That’s why almost everyone would just go back to 3w/1g/1m, because it’s the easiest and gives results inappropriate to your input.
For damage, you have mes solo 5:40, warrior is 5:08, guardian 5:29. Guess how other professions fare.
As for defense, 2 eles can get you with 50% uptime of projectile absorption and it doesn’t work as often as feedback (Cursed Grasp for instance).
That’s a bit hypocritical considering how much you wanted guardians in our team, feedback doesn’t do 800k damage, that’s only in a highly coorinated lupi kill as you know, and frankly I don’t see how protecting yourself from things once in a while is such a big problem, I thought we were against facetanking and I believe you know we can’t dodge everything at all times. I’m not saying fgs should be complained about or not, frankly I don’t care, but dont pretend its the same as feedback in a normal situation, and that suddenly 6 seconds of projectile negation and an amount of damage equal to around a third of fgs is more of an exploit than getting 200k damage every 10 seconds.
Pay attention to voice tone next time. I’m really surprised you thought I wanted any guardians.
Feedback is just one skill of mesmer’s entire a—r—s—e—nal of reflections making most encounters faceroll. Do not compare almost 100% uptime of reflection to one elite with 180s cooldown which makes you stuck with 2 decent weapon skills.
K, ill just go reroll cause my mesmer does too much damage and its an exploit now.
Typical 3w/1m/1g is boring as kitten to watch and easy to play. I don’t see anything remotely entertaining in playing faceroll team composition while having ~90% damage potential other and harder to play team compositions can achieve.
Why anyone whines about fgs doing 175k when feedback does 800k and completely nullifies enemy damage? I’m complaining about reflections being overpowered in pve since ever, not only they negate all damage but deal it back.
Honestly I am a little on the fence with FGS but I think not using it would both promote better gamplay by the community and be more entertaining for people to watch. I see records as a way to weigh my skills against people with proof that they are the best, and lets face it, the fastest runs (not lupi kills, I don’t particularly care how fast you can kill a boss) don’t use FGS anyways and using fiery rush does not show much in terms of player skill but I guess it does show strategy. I guess why not, go ahead and use FGS for records, I am probably biased against it because I have seen too many good players become bad because of it.
FGS is going to get nerfed with or without HC whines but I don’t see how not using it would promote better gameplay since most speedrunners would just stack warriors with enough reflections cause it’s the most foolproof and still very effective. I don’t see how rolling your face on a keyboard against los-ed mobs/bosses is entertaining for people to watch. It’s definitely not for me.
And lastly, how does fgs make good players bad? It deals way less damage than reflections which almost no one has problems with.
Looks like worlds that beat Tequatl used fgs with ice bows and that was approved by anet!
Well okay, but you do realize that the lupi video in your signature fully takes advantage of it? Is it do as I say, not as I do type of a deal?
I’m actually making fun of that guild. I was sarcastic at the beginning.
Elite players and open world is an antithesis.
Plz tell me that’s sarcasm!
Here, an elite pve guild explains that very clearly.
Elite content? are you joking? Watch bogotters video, its 100 people ZERGballed up, NOT bothering to dodge the waves, because of instant res, not using any strategy except skillspam in a zergball. If this is your idea of elite content, you need to look up the definition of elite
Not to mention the use of certain exploits like fiery rush. Anet should ban everyone who abuse that skill.
Perhaps I should reword my statement to “ArenaNet would not make Ascended drops so frequent from their world bosses as to make ascended crafting invalid, so suggestions to the contrary are meaningless.”
Nevermind anyway, he drops only rapid stats.
In time, people will be downing him regularly. You don’t want to make ascended crafting invalidated.
Why not? It’s kittening horrible.
