Punished probably wasn’t the right word to use up there. But ideally, costs would scale. If I want to stay at a hotel with 100 people, I’ll have to get 100 rooms. If I want to stay in the same hotel with 10 people, I shouldn’t have to get 100 rooms as well.

If the costs would scale then imho also the guildhall size and/or functionality should scale.
If the hotel has 100 rooms and I go there with 10 people I shouldn’t expect to rent the full hotel for the price of 10 rooms.
Or if I want to rent a place to organize a gaming concert where I expect 100 visitors I shouldn’t go to a big stadium and expect to be able to negotiate a price the same as of of a club that has room for 150 visitors.
Bad analogies
But scaling the size/funcionality with the cost might be a good compromise for smaller guilds to still have their own place they can work in, just requires quite some development.

edit: to add that I’m in a 2 player guild and am fine with how things are. In the old system I also couldn’t get as many upgrades/unlocks/buffs as big guilds and wasn’t able to do missions etc. after having played since launch. Though a smaller customizable version of guild hall (not the instance in L.A. in it’s current form) would be a nice to have feature.

My experience is different. I do notice a lot of difference in survivability in defensive gear at the cost of damage output so I outlive several mobs at a time and slowly pick them off one by one as opposed to zerker gear where I pull less at the same time and quickly finish them off one by one.
Only on the new large scale world bosses I agree I find it useless but in the rest of the game (both live and in HoT beta) it’s a choice of playstyle and it works fine for me as I’m not the speedrun maximum damage output type of guy and enjoy it more to fight multiple mobs at a time and controlling / outliving them in which defensive gear greatly helps me.
In the current game dungeon groups might not like my damage output because they want to clear content fast but I’m still useful to other groups and am usually the last man standing in encounters where things get nasty.
Sure I’m not able to be a full tank but the game doesn’t want to have the conventional mmo tank.
I understand for some it might be too weak but for me it’s fine as I do notice the difference and it changes my playstyle.

To me it’s the gear’s problem (by extension the stats themselves) not the content.

To me it seems more like scaling (like the OP also mentioned) and/or damage issue, I seemed to be taking less damage still in soldier’s gear but it would still kill me. Hence when they tone it down like they’ve done before the problem might be resolved, but I guess only Anet has the figures on that Upping the effectiveness of defensive stats on gear or tweaking the scaling might have a simillar result except that fixing the gear/stats would also affect other parts of the game unless there’s something in the boss mechanics that totally nullifies gear and/or certain stats against them.

My guess is that it will be toned down anyways. My experiences from previous GW2 tests is that for balance/scaling tweaks they start at the extreme/difficult spectrum and then tone down instead of starting low/easy and bringing it up.
Like with the BWE’s prior to vanilla launch I remember that the difficulty/strength of mobs in pve land was a lot higher (not just because of being new to the game) and (depending on class/build) pulling more than 2 mobs at a time would give you a hard time, kill you or make you run for your life while using heal and all your defenses already in starter zones.
The first (few) BWE’s you saw dead players in pve land everywhere but after that it became mind numbingly easy auto attack and occasional situational use of a skill fest.
Personally I liked it better how it was before because there was finally a game (again) with some challenge in the open world.

I think what doesnt change is that Anet is a subsidiary of Ncsoft. They’re closing down NCsoft West which was registered on the same address as Anet. So it might just be that Anet gets aditional tasks but is still part of Ncsoft like it has been.

One could also just do 3 hot join matches in sPvP, don’t put in much effort and get a laurel.
The discussion is always about WvW vs PvE but I see sPvP as a decent compromise for PvP purists. It’s often even faster than in WvW/PvE to get your laurel.
But since they’re introducing new WvW daily objectives I think it’s a pointless discussion at this point anyways.

In many of those games there’s several classes that have a ranged in-combat rez skill though that is usable in whatever their implementation of world pvp is. So yes you’re dead but yes you’re rez’d within seconds to continue on those games. And they often have dedicated healers that keep you alive longer than is possible in this game.

Tbh I think we’re an easy target to troll, it will always have the desired effect because there’s always some to come wine on the forums if there’s any hacks / night capping / zerging (why the hell some of our folks complain about that, the same thing we’ve been accused of by almost every single server we fought, even vids showing our ridiculously big zergs on youtube) / portal bombing / golem rushes / obvious trolling going on.

That said, some time ago I posted that the only server we fought where I’ve personally seen several hacks / cheats going on was Underwold. AM is quickly catching up to UW in that regard.
Just an obeservation (I know there’s cheaters on every server but how come I notice it on some servers multiple times and others none at all?).

Traps+Get More Out of WvW

Traps? Seriously? Oh kitten off.

Like someone else said much better a few posts up wth are you doing introducing traps that break an entire classes mechanic? Are we also getting traps that unsummon pets? Traps that stop warriors building/using adrenaline? Traps that stop switching from F1 through F4?

Every single mmo I played that had 1 or more stealth classes always had a way to counter stealth (note: I’m not saying counter that class or player, but the stealth mechanic itself). Things like not being able to stealth in combat, huge stealth cooldowns or in the better games usually something like a specialized class (buff) skill to either detect stealthed players or remove the stealth from an area. Traps would fall into the “remove stealth from an area” category that several games have done before but was lacking here.

As for traps in general, just wait how they work out and don’t over react like a little kid to something that doesn’t exist yet.

I would hope that in 3 years, some guy with his SAB scepter is feeling that way about it.

Likely not, since that same guy could have, that day, shelled out whatever the gold cost is for the item and gotten it all the same. If you want limited edition stuff that “you had to be there to get”, you can’t make it purchasable on the TP. If you want prestigious things that showcase “you did this and have great skill / dedication”, you can’t make it purchasable on the TP. If you’re going to have them purchasable on the TP, you may as well have them come back down the road because the prestige simply won’t be there regardless.

I don’t care for any of the SAB skins because having one says nothing about my ability to complete the content or be exceedingly good at it or whatever. Meanwhile, I have hunted so many Fractal skins that you’d probably be shocked. Those Fractal skins carry prestige, while the SAB skins never will thanks to them being purchasable on the TP.

It’s not about what that or any other guy for that matter could’ve done, it’s about personal value. The fact that it can be bought on TP doesn’t take away from that value.
Anybody can also buy that rare extreme gpu or signed poster / cd / shirt whatever on ebay or similar as well as long as they shell out enough cash for it.
Furthermore the fractal skins you’re talking about don’t say anything about your ability to complete the content or how good you’re at playing this game either. Your guild could’ve carried you through repeatedly while you were afk most of the time or your afk’ness might even have been tolerated by pugs for all I know.
For me they’re worthless and don’t carry prestige because I know I can easily complete fractals ad nauseum, it’s just not the type of content I prefer playing. The fact you’ve earned those items only shows that you’ve been there a lot of times (or were extremely lucky) and wasn’t afk when it was time to loot.

The main reason people blob up is that it’s immunity from AE.

It’s one important reason yes, but not sure if it’s the main reason. Personally I was more thinking that people act like sheep IRL and in game alike as one of the main reasons.
It’s far too easy to just follow the mass, if AoE cap is removed you’ll still see the commander icon act as a pug magnet as much as it does today, and guild groups will still be guild groups.

first off that is great news.

But i need to ask for some clarification.

on the german forum the announcement says reset is going to be at 2000 CEST (which is UTC+2), here you write its on 1900 GMT (which is UTC+0)

so regarding to the german announcement it would be at 1800 UTC, regarding to this it would be 1900 UTC, which one is true?

I suppose you mixed GMT and BST up in this posting, best stick with UTC time

UTC for many is even more confusing as it doesn’t take daylight savings into consideration.
Best call it UK time instead of confusing folks with GMT in winter and BST in summer as most have figured out by now that mainland western Europe (CE(S)T) is 1 hour ahead okitten time all year round.

I had actually noticed earlier that the green server was winning in every tier in both ladders,

I think (one of) WvW’s biggest problem right now is that matches are predictable to this level. In most tiers, 19 weeks out of 20 you know exactly who is going to win just by knowing who your opponents are. That isn’t competitive

Happens with many sports IRL as well that it’s always the same few teams at the top for many seasons until there’s a change in the team setups which affects the playstyle / strategy.
So those aren’t competetive either?

My account was preordered and never touched because my computer couldn’t run it. I finally get a new computer, find out my account’s been hacked, spend three days with customer service to retrieve it, try to log in to find that the account was suspended due to suspicious activity, spent another two days with customer service to get it unsuspended, and now this. I seriously haven’t even gotten to play yet. Yes, my account was hacked, so it’s possible that the gold spammer who hacked the account used an exploit. HOWEVER, I’ve consulted support about the hack, and I should NOT be held responsible for YOUR COMPANY’s security flaws.

I would greatly appreciate if you would review my ticket. I do not want to spend three more days waiting to use the product I payed for ages ago.

Not just using phishing and spyware, there also have been mmo’s in that period since 2002 that got their user database hacked where passwords were stored in clear text or not so well encrypted.

Also lifetime ranks leaves open options for future rewards that could be added on higher ranks such as r170 +4 all stats, r180 +4 all stats, just an example.

And a bad example at that because it would give a stat advantage for the amount of time played (or rather zerg-surfed for those rank grinders out there).
Why would folks that have more time than me to spend on games due to still living in their parents’ basement or being unemployed by choice “deserve” a stat advantage over me, even though I also spend almost every minute of my spare time in game but have a full time job with regular over hours so am more restricted on the amount of hours to play per day?

Tastes and opinions differ…
I don’t see how anybody could like sPvP over WvW because it’s just the same boring game of conquest over and over, for me it got old after around 30 matches but WvW didn’t get old for me yet and I’ve spent most my active gaming time there since the 1st BWE.
The reason probably is there’s a lot I can do to contribute to the meta fight, depending what I’m in the mood for. I can defend objectives, scout enemy movement, cap supply camps, upgrade objectives on my own or with only a few others; or if I’m tired and not that focused just zerg surf and have some fun in large scale battles enjoying outsmarting the opponents with nice flanks etc.
I’ve had plenty of small scale fights, even 1v1, 1v2 or 1v3 where the opponents didn’t run away or a zerg “interfering”.
Also I don’t need to run around in search for some action, one glance at the map tells me a lot about what’s happening or is likely to happen next.
For me sPvP compared to WvW is like tictactoe compared to chess/stratego.

Ranger, Engineer or Ele?

Depends your playstyle and which class mechanics feel most fun to play for you. I also have those 3 classes at level 80 in full exotics.
And which one I play depends on what playstyle I’m in the mood for (though I consider both my staff ele and my bunker rifle engi both as mains, I’ve played both since the 1st BWE and still can’t pick one over the other).
If I’m just going to zerg surf or play supportive (don’t forget to take a focus for destroying projectiles for example to protect your treb from countertrebs or viseversa) I bring out the ele, if I’m in the mood for roaming solo or small group for camp capping and small group battles I bring out the bunker engi and get in close combat.
Ranger is the most underwhelming of the three and I basically bring him out if I want to easymode pewpew from max range without too much effort.

It says more about the players on the servers in your tier than about the patch…
Furthermore it’s way too early to make such bold statement that WvW is broken if the patch is just out.
Can’t imagine people will just keep doing that for days/weeks/months on end it’s just a rush for the new shiney. And if they do they definitely shouldn’t complain about A.net adding a title / skill track because they’re just doing it to themselves.
It’s still possible to fight the same way as before the patch and gather wxp that way, soon we’ll all be maxed on wxp regardless of playstyle anyways.
Just the impatient few will get their wxp for all bonuses asap and then complain they have no incentive to play WvW anymore, like before the patch.

I don’t think it’s bannable because it’s down to the guild leader to set the access level.

Personally I would never give any random member access to everything valuable to the guild as a whole, trust gotta be earned, especially on the interwebz.

Giving access to just anyone is like giving a complete stranger the key to your house, eg not the smartest thing to do until you’ve built a trust relationship.

But can you? Because you’re saying you’re going in there just to acquire badges and talk about the traps killing you this makes me think you run the full JP instead of only when a mesmer port (and rez should it be needed at the last part) is available.
This makes me think you’re a PvE player, esp. because since the last patch you make more badges by contributing to the actual WvW fight within the same time it would take you to complete the JP.
So personally I wouldn’t bother with the JP unless a mesmer can port and just run with the zerg for a bit.

Can’t tell if serious. Yes I read the blog post. No this is not the first time they have claimed to have dealt with culling.

Then go read it again.
They.are.completely.removing.it…
As in it’s completely poof gone.
They’re not trying to improve it.

Furthermore they haven’t claimed to have dealt with culling before, if you also read the dev posts back then, you would’ve known they tried to improve it with a minor temporary fix while working on removing it completely.

I understand your scepticism though as the minor improvement they made while working on removing it, for many people wasn’t an improvement.
Also it doesn’t mean that no new problems can occur, but those problems aren’t culling related anymore because there’s no culling anymore but could be bandwidth or rendering related for which the rootcause would in many of such issues be on the client, not the server side, eg out of A.net’s control.

Hmm not so sure, at first I thought that was a good idea as well but knowing myself the risk is very big that I blow all my karma on 1 character I hardly ever play if I don’t have separate karma pools

Haven’t noticed any difference whatsoever. On the receiving end that is because I don’ t have any ascended stuffs and won’t have any time soon unless they make it available for badges / karma.
It’s actually what I expected and also posted when a lot of folks all over the interwebz were crying that the sky was falling and everybody would need to do fractals to remain competetive etc.
For me it’s the same minor stat improvement as from green/rare mix to exotic which was hardly noticable at all for me on both the dealing and receiving end on 3 different classes (staff ele, rifle bunker engi and longbow ranger, not exactly the most powerful class builds either).

Unfortenely those chests do exist… For the grub, the arboreal spirit and whateverbossexistongreenarea… Would be good to have’em moved to the objectives tho, people don’t usually bother with the 3 chests from EB.

losing a fully upgraded garrison/SM to recap it for the sake of a big chest?

Depends the amount of loot in it, if it has enough badges and an almost guaranteed rare then you’ll got a lot more PvE’ers in WvW that just want to leech for the chests than you currently have going for world completion and free JP badges, eg. taking up the queue slots of “sane WvW players”.
I think it’s fine as is with the improved group loot distribution, usually if fighting over SM or Garrison you get to face more defenders than when taking a camp or a tower that’s being flipped constantly, so you already get a lot more loot.

If you want to play WvW on the most populated servers then expect consequences (skill lag).

Like people quitting the game? What exactly is your point? To argue that we shouldn’t ask for something that they marketed the game as being able to do?

And this is actually a complaint over something they recently created. The lag delay on abilities used to happen every now and then, now it is always happening in all aspects of the game.

I play on tier 4 and don’t experience skill lag. That’s my point.

And how is that related to a tier exactly? The wvw tier doesn’t say anything about the total server population through all parts of the game.
I’m on a server that has seen almost every tier (all except the lowest 2), past few weeks we’ve climbed up to t5 again and since the patch I have craptons of skill lag in any part of the game, PvE, WvW and even sPvP matches that are a relatively small instanced area.
Prior to the patch I had skill lag on avg 1x per month in a 3-way fight over SM (incl. for several weeks after launch in T1, you know when the population was at its peak and our server had status “full” almost all the time) and never at all in PvE.

Ascended gear for badges and maybe for karma would be great. Because I don’t play dungeons (nor FotM) and am not in a guild (well my own personal one to avoid invite spam) it would take like forever to acquire multiple ascended pcs. with laurels only.

I was just posting a freshly identified rare dye on TP but it didn’t get posted (was not on the my transactions tab when I checked after it, but had dissapeared from my bags), shortly after I got d/c so fingers crossed I still have that rare dye when the problem is resolved and I don’t get a rollback to before I identified it

It isn’t if you’re trying to convince ANet to modify GW2 accordingly. Yes, we could all just let GW2 fade into oblivion (pun intended) when TESO (or AA) arrives, but I don’t see how it’s silly to let ANet know what we find exciting.

ESO is having the 1 Mega Server for PVE, and you can separate out the PVE in instances based on who you want to play with.

However its PvP system is similar to TSW, as in you pick a “Campaign” kind of like picking say JQ as a server…in that Campaign you’ll fight the the opposing realms who also picked that Campaign.

The map however for ESO makes this game look small though… It’s about 4x the size of all 3 Servers Maps combined.

But TES:O isn’t out yet and it’s unknown how the announced systems are going to play out once live.
Besides, this is a subforum to discuss WvW in GW2, not about listing features of other games that aren’t even stated as a posible solution to a perceived problem in GW2.
I’m not hating on TES:O, I’ll probably also play it at some point as I try out every major mmo release since 1999 but it’s a bit silly to just list features of another game here because you’re hyped up for it.

All these issues center around WvW.
It has become obvious to the WvW community that WvW is far behind PvE and sPvP for support.

My guild ran into culling on our recent get-together in Divinity’s Reach, at an empty spot with no other players. We run into EXTREME culling and fps loss (much worse than i ever experienced in WvW in t5~8) when liberating Balthazar or Grenth temples.
Large guilds will run into culling during guild missions. And as soon as that happens, ANet will be much more pressed to double the work devoted to fixing it.

Not necesarily culling, could be rendering and network lag. There’s too many people confusing those things.
Using terminology like “extreme culling” indicates you’re one of that group. Culling is a fixed max number of chars to display when it kicks in, fixed being the keyword.
Also they have mentioned from the start of the culling discussion on several occasions that culling works really well in PvE but not in WvW and that the goal is to remove it from WvW. They never really mentioned anything about removing it from PvE.

If this does happen I bet it’s gonna crash servers because they didn’t go threw enough testing.

Please elaborate. What specifically about culling being remedied do you think might cause the servers to “crash?”

Not speaking for Emmet as I don’t know him/her but to reply to your question anyways: the required increased bandwidth and load balancing.

To quote Habib:

In order to remove culling completely we have to address three issues:

1) Bandwidth out of our servers/datacenter (traffic would increase without culling)
2) Bandwidth in to each client (traffic to each client would also increase without culling)
3) Client performance issues related to rendering (potentially) all the players on a map at once. (Note that we base our performance requirements in this case on min-spec clients. We don’t want to stop anybody being able to play the game after all.)

Now I know he also mentioned #1 was the easiest to tackle and they got permission to get bigger bandwidth, but will this be enough for the servers to hold it when it gets deployed for the live game where a lot more players are active in all game modes across the whole datacenter than they’re accurately able to test / reproduce?

Personally I liked the first few events a lot better because there were one time only events. Having tons of players around for something is what adds a lot to the epicness for me even if they event / living story / quest whatever in itself is sort of meh.
But unfortunately there were too many players whining about not being able to get online on that hour so that approach seems off the table or could return only if they make it instanced.
For now it seems we have to make due with activities that are designed so that anybody can do it at any time which makes things feel less epic even if there’s some scaling in place.
I know this shouldn’t necesarily affect the quality / epic feel of the story itself but I’m more a man of action than of words when it comes to gaming.

OR, you could give us an in-game interface that satisfies the same functions as GW2LFG, so we don’t have to rely on an external website to help match players and groups together.

You know, like your competition offers. Seriously, why promote an external website when this kind of functionality should really be included standard in modern MMOs? Why hasn’t it happened yet?

I’m assuming you mean an auto grouping tool, since most other LFG tools implemented in games, like flagging yourself as LFG (already in game) or a bulletin board type of system aren’t used much at all by the playerbase.

Maybe it indeed should be standard but in reality it isn’t. Just 2 relatively recent other mmo launches: Rift and SW:TOR both didn’t have it at launch. LOTRO only implemented it last year when the game had already been out for 5 years. And there’s a lot more examples.
So yes the competition offers it but most of them didn’t offer it at launch and many months / years after it.
Also on any gaming boards I’ve frequented over the years, only the mention of an automated grouping LFG tool caused a very heated debate which only made it more difficult for the devs to prioritize it or even make a decision to include it or not (esp. cross server ones which it would by definition be for GW2 since a lot is cross server already).
But since they’re already working on it you’re beating a dead horse really.
I’m more interested in how they implement it, if it’s just going to be the same like gw2lfg.com it’s a bit meh for me because I have a nice little in-game browser (and many other tools) available to me now already by using the enjin client. The only thing better about it then for me would be that the design fits with the game UI.

Of course I want you to enjoy the games’ personal story as much as I do but posts like these actually sort of make my scared.
For me the difficulty level is perfect so if they are to tone it down one way or another I hope they offer 2 difficulty modes so it doesn’t become overly easy and therewith boring for me.

Bunker Ele is the strongest class in the game!

1v1 it can be argued perhaps because of their ability to out last people. It is due to this and not for pwning faces off with damage. Ever see 2 bunker ele’s fight? Neither can do enough damage to kill the other. Kinda of like watching two bunker guardians fights, but flashier.

It’s not only bunker builds of same class. I’m mostly bunker spec’d on my engi and fighting a bunker ele or bunker guardian either I win thanks to my control and popping retaliation and confusion at the right time when the opponent isn’t paying attention or I die of boredom after 10 mins. or so.

But on the topic, if indeed mostly in zerg fights I’d say glass canon staff ele with a few escape skills to get easy badges.

I was there at sunny. A mesmer told us he was pulled up on the wall and he made a portal and jumped. Dont know if that is true, but since i dont know all spells i must asume hes speaking corectly. i used the portal because i beleaved in him.

I am unaware of any spells that can pull people UP walls, but I hope I am wrong.

I’ve experienced many glitches on my asura engi which are collision related with jump shot and some kit skills that make me appear on my own screen meters away from the target although I’m hitting in melee and then suddenly my screen updates. Before the turret / supply crate fix this was even worse / more frequent.
In some cases if I used directly another targeted skill after my glitch, it hit on the area I targeted from my glitched position instead of from my “real” melee position so in fact had a longer range and may seem like a teleport hack because (at least on my screen) I never returned to my “real” position.
I’ve also seen with the toolkit magnet (pull skill) that targets glitched out after I pulled them and got stuck or ended up on top of objects like smaller ledges but haven’t seen it on top of a wall yet but wouldn’t be completely surprised if it would happen.
Haven’t been able to reproduce these types at will and I’m not interested in it but I’m sure there’s folks out there that find ways that always work and use it to their advantage.
This isn’t to come to the defense of what happened. If I would’ve been there I wouldn’t have used the portal and would’ve at the very least told those involved off and if I got the impression they used it on purpose or got an unfair advantage of it even reported them.

My advice would be to enjoy match up, and stop finding excuses for losing. Having fun is much more important especially since this tier is one of the most balanced ones.

I’m not trying to find excuses for loosing, I’m beyond that just look at the history of our server, I’m used to loosing from t1 all the way down to t7 where we stabilized and reorganized
It’s just an observation, as stated before I havent’ even played much this matchup.
But I was slightly more awake tonite and once I got rolling I thoroughly enjoyed some of the battles.
I just prefer to have everyone online at the same time but that’s not going to happen now with the resetted rating.
And I also know that XaoC is around at other hours, I’ve seen a few around but it’s hardly as noticable as the golem rushes that happen each early morning when there’s basically not much others around on all servers.
Personally I prefer to play in t5-t7 because there’s also more small scale battles happening, much more creative tactics and less pressure to have an off peak force.
I’m happy for you guys that you have one but be careful it can backfire when you reach the higher tiers and don’t have enough primetime force. Worst case scenario is you fall back to a mid-low tier again where off peak hour presence is uncommon and have most servers you fight whine about it and playing defeatist like many of us did when we faced Dz the first time in t7, so you basically have noone to fight
But I agree having fun overrules all that, and it’s one of the reasons I still play WvW whenever I can, just having a tiny bit of competetive nature doesn’t hurt in this game mode.

Gate tagging and Contested Waypoint porting

That’s too bad.

A waypoint indicates that a keep has been held for a very long period of time. WvW is more fun (I think) when sieges are successful and property changes hands. I hate seeing a borderland that’s the same color all week. Also, the dominant server will usually be in control of the most keep waypoints across the four maps. Nerfing waypoints would be a simple step to bringing more balance.

Actually I would prefer there to be a change in the rating system that encourages holding something for a longer time instead of property changing hands as fast as it currently does which makes it just a game of conquest in a bigger scale.
I would love to really claim a keep with my guild and defend it like my own home for the whole matchup, which makes it feel more persistent and makes claiming something for your guild more worthwhile and offers an incentive to defend it instead of just being the ones that put the buffs and pay the upgrades only to see it taken by the enemy within a few hours. A bonus would be making it possible to customize some stuffs to your guild likings sort of like an alternative to guild halls.

But more on topic: I agree with the linked dev post that they should take their time carefully developing a solution that doesn’t make the waypoint upgrade useless nor keep it too easy to keep perma-contested.

There’s only 2 problems I have with the JP:
1. The folks in there count towards the player cap of the map.
2. It attracts PvE’ers that don’t even like doing any WvW to get their easy badges.

No.2 is actually more the issue that PvE purists are forced to get badges of honor for their legendary gift, I’d much prefer to give them another way to acquire them. But for PvP / WvW purists it’s even worse because the majority of things needed for the legendary forces them to de PvE.
So basically PvE’ers only need to acquire 1 thing in a game mode they don’t like but WvW’ers need to acquire ALL BUT 1 thing in a game mode they don’t like.
Changing that for PvE players would also require changing the rest of the legendary stuffs for WvW’ers to keep things fair.

Note that I don’t have a problem with the JP’s design or that it’s connected to WvW. It caters to smaller scale battles in an open’ish environment with a lot of terrain to use to your advantage, and of course to camping/ganking style that still a lot of players apparently like judging from my mmo experience.
I only prefer to have the JP count as separate maps so the whining of WvW’ers stops that JP campers and PvE’ers are taking up their guilds slots.

It’s not bitterness but the fact when you are making the most points and which guilds are most involved in that.
This from my side isn’t talking down on you guys, although I’ve only been in WvW 2 evenings during this matchup and when I was there I had a hard time staying awake due to busy times IRL, I saw some nice fights against you guys that didn’t involve said guild so take that as a compliment if you will. But I have been keeping track of point ticks, talked to WvW’ers on our server etc. and I do notice a trend.
Without XaoC this matchup would’ve been even more balanced but alas that’s not meant to be.

Wow, first some from FSP try to openly make an alliance with Miller’s. Miller’s refuses and now some act kitten when Miller’s attacks you using standard 3- way tactics – As if you were entitled to Miller’s cooperation. The arrogance is mind boggling. But I’m sure these are just a few bad elements and not representative of the whole server. :-)

All tactics are useful only situationally. TryGoogleThis illustrated that the “standard” 3-way tactic you used wasn’t very useful in that situation as you actually lost points instead of gaining them. It would be a snapshot in time that could be undone before the next point ticks, but since you do the same repeatedly and it’s very easily countered it’s actually a loosing strategy.
