More Sandbox Elements in WvW?

in WvW

Posted by: kash.9213

kash.9213

I do agree that WvW needs to be larger and with more sandbox elements. What they have is good but it’s too small and too canned to be something anyone will play for a whole year.

But I don’t think we’ll see it this year, if ever. Some other game will do it and we’ll all move there. :-p

It’s not all that small really, just so much of the maps are not used and avoided, and the entire jumping puzzle is basically disconnected and instead of being part of our w3 world, it’s a queue slot hog to many. Sieges happen much too fast and with features to cater to pvers like map swords and aoe limits, you can’t even think about exploring or doing puzzles. Putting sandbox elements into these maps, even if the map sizes were increased, would be wasted effort unless they axe some of the features that just don’t make sense.

I think you underestimate how often Invalid dies!!!

True, and likely most of those deaths are when he solo rushes into a zerg after one of his epic inspirational speeches because everyone in the squad realized this guy’s sporting legendaries and other hardcore gear but he’s not wearing any pants.

I dislike complicated solutions. How about a simpler one:

Show us the zergs, Anet!

That’s right. Whenever there is a large amount of players in an area, announce it to ALL THREE servers on the minimap. Keep it constantly updated. Oh is there a zerg coming stealthed towards you with a million stealth combos to abuse culling? No. You see it appreach on the minimap, clear as day. They can stealth but they cannot hide.

This would force large guilds to rethink their zergballing if they want to stay hidden on the map (like it is now). Move divided, fight as a group. Yet it wouldnt actually stop it per say with artificial debuffs/buffs. You could still do a massive zergball that is the constant target of 2 hostile servers.

This would expand on the combat warning that already exist if larger groups engage.

I would rather not punish large teams who still coordinate no matter their numbers. I’ve seen zerg sized teams with the discipline to catapult keep walls with small groups to distract else where with no resistance until it was too late. This solution would simply compound the problem caused by the current map swords and pretty much lock in the zerg vs zerg nature of w3.

Take out map swords, revert to old culling or fix it, and take out aoe limit. The pve’rs these features were meant to cater to are not consistently playing w3 anyway and the rest of us mostly or only play w3, but with these features it’s not the living game world we wanted our characters to live in. There’s no reason to have anyone float in an area to call for defense or to have scouts and even if you did, what can even the best players in a small group or two do against a zerg with so many limitations both intended and unintended design wise (aoe limit and culling mostly).

Seriously though, badges are good, I am just running out of room (see picture).

Yeah me too, so many badges that I think the game is starting to glitch

If you had that many badges you could afford to buy new gear every time you died instead of paying for repairs. Then you might not have to run around naked half of the time.

Unfortunately w3 was designed physically as triangulation game, with three structure points supporting each other with defenders doubling and tripling from each. Due to the swords on the map and the pve grindish nature that continues to grow, we can take a point then join the zerg, or the zerg can run a flip train all day long, so no one has any incentive or interest to stay and defend or even hover and operate around that general area.

Ascended Knight's Gear

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

kash.9213

I was going to make this thread.

Where is our Knight’s ascended gear? Why do thieves get nice ascended berserker’s gear to do their ridiculous damage but everyone else who wants to survive these hits gets shafted?

Still no reply from Anet on this either…

You can still get major vit or toughness stats, and you can equip the same as a thief and most classes can build about as glass cannon as a thief, though, that’s what usually gets them killed and sent running to forums even if it wasn’t a thief who killed them (they’re just easy to blame because stealth). You’d do better with vit as a major stat then toughness anyway against the thief build you’re implying.

Anyway, I don’t really care anymore, gave up on this mess, I’ll probably log on once in awhile with the same exotics and listen to geared out dungeon crawlers cry every chance they get in WvW.

For myself, the problem I have with this game is all the useless or damaging crap they’ve put into the game, I’d rather they take stuff out as it seemed mostly fine to me in beta. This game was only w3 for me, I don’t need more pve dailies to zombie out to for ranks and new abilities, I’m already putting the game down due to w3 turning into a point flipping race after I get my dailies done for a gear grind. Fixing culling and those sort of bugs will only fix those particular issues, they wont fix the stale state of w3.

Instead of hiding in enemy keeps to portal my zone inside, escorting dolyaks to get keep maxed out with 5 ACs on every door, ninja catapulting bay watergate, continuously suiciding into supply camps just to hold for minute longer. Joining a guild with identity instead my “reqruiting everybody, and their granny”-guild. And so on.

Players decide how wvwvw is played. Based on their priorities. Guess my bias is quite clear.

If players have to decide how w3 is played then this game is screwed.

I think WvW isn’t PVP. It’s PVE, but there are also other players trying to kill you. It doesn’t have to be fair. You have to pick your battles.

I think gear won’t save you from being rolled by a zerg. It won’t help you knock down the walls of stonemist faster either. It won’t get supply into Anz fast enough to hold up against the 24/7 trebbing.

I think good strategy and tactics beat good gear.

I think issues with class balance should be fixed directly, not bandaged over.

What else are you doing in w3 if you think it’s more pve then pvp? I almost never get down time while I’m logged on to stop and smell the omnom berries, w3 currently is basically a large scale spvp match, not so much a living game world.

Where is your evidence that supports your; “most” assertion? Using the most vocal people on the forums is not logical to any argument.

Visit any of the class forums, the simplest builds and gear roll outs are always the most used, and if you ask people in game, they usually have a system of gear stats that are departmentalized, ie: p/v/t armor with all zerker/ruby trinkets and zerkers weapons and most answers on build questions ie: thief forums, are increasingly suggesting all or nothing after experience in w3 since beta anyway.

Aside from that, I didn’t say I’m in favor of either system, leveling and grinding for gear are things I try to get out of the way so I can play the game. You people can argue over it all you want but people shouldn’t act like they’ve earned a spot in the queue because they have more time to sit at the computer to hold down their W key and press 1 over and over again. I think the game was in the right spot pre-Ascended as far as stats go, it should have stayed there.

This isn’t true. In sPvP you can’t have half a healing build, and half a beserker build. It’s all, or nothing.

In what dictionary does the word “most” mean “all”? If there were enough builds like that out there the thief forums wouldn’t be full of glass cannon mesmers and other trolls.

Most builds amount to the spvp amulets anyway, people claiming they’re special because they zerged through Orr and slept through dungeons for pve gear are usually the same people who claim Ascended gear isn’t an upgrade and that those of us who don’t grind dungeons should bow down accept their pve authority. Most players who consider w3 to be their game would rather not have to bother with a pve grind and LFG and get to open world pvp, as simple as these new dailies are, they’re increasingly motivating me to quit this game because it’s becoming the same old three to four previous games I’ve played. I don’t have the play time to login and grind pve dailies before I can get in on real action after work.

I don’t mind a pre-ascended gear progression as long as it can all happen in w3 with a quick jump to an Orr temple with karma once in awhile, but this whole game is turning into another Rift+Swtor+every other pve grind full of useless dungeon/raid crawlers.

Everything happens too fast and despite their intention of having us watch our characters instead of the UI, at this point we’re all watching our boons and conditions and combo fields hoping our group is the last one standing after the lag spike when two zergs meet when the sparkly particle effects cloud wears off. At no point do I notice cool animations or just enjoy the fight (I was just watching a video someone showed me of the new Neverwinter Nights game and those animations seemed like the perfect pace and it wasn’t all hidden by particle effects). Then, it’s run for ten seconds to the next camp or tower to do it all over again. I pretty much do this to get my dailies done now and log off since w3 isn’t the game world I thought I’d be living in, the whole of w3 just feels like a larger version of spvp mixed with Orr grind.

The jumping puzzle would make much more sense if w3 felt more like an open world pvp game, but we’re so funneled into what we can and cannot do with our time there that it’s become taboo for many. It should be a part of what is our open world to explore and fight in but with increasing limited spots on maps (especially borderlands) which were supposed to involve hundreds of players at a time and very few reasons to detach from the one or two zergs, our world map is more like a corner or town of a pve world map and the jumping puzzle feels separate. Sieges happen way too fast to even think about doing anything else but attacking or defending structures for people who keep track of points, and everyone else are flipping camps or flags or running over small groups around yaks, there’s no time or room to live in w3, you only visit now to finish your dailies mostly.

If you need help with something, ask for help or even just let /map or /team know what you and your group are up to, never belittle everyone for not helping or throw a fit in chat, that kind of negativity is catchy. You might start out small and it might take awhile, but people will notice stuff happening on the map and they’ll want to get in on the action. That’s usually how commanders are born on our server.

There’s no empty area in the water to set up for a nice pvp fight and there’s no supply or towers underwater so there’s not other reason to be down there. I agree with that map, much of that space I never go to and I’ve never seen it used by anyone out there for actual w3, it sort of compounds the complaints about small maps.

You sure it was speed hacking and not lag? There was a charr on Kain the other day that was moving in abnormal ways. But since it appeared he was not doing this to get some sort of advantage over me I just chalked it up to him lagging.

It was a teleport hack, I watched the guy for a bit, looked like some of our own were reporting him. Fortunately no one was following his icon, probably because no one could keep up him, so it was pretty isolated and a non factor.

Meh, I wouldn’t even call it “breaking the manifesto”. As for agony resistance, a good player can simply dodge such attacks (minus Jade Maw anyway).

With that aside, if ascended was released at launch, no one would complain about “breaking the manifesto”. The only problem was that it wasn’t released at launch. Ascended is simply a new tier. Going from exotic -> ascended is the same as going from rare -> exotic.

If it was available at launch but still obtained the same way it is now, then yes there would be many complaints and w3 would have never taken off to begin with much less dying a few months in.

Ascended items is Anti-Alts

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: kash.9213

kash.9213

You don’t get to define what is acceptable for me.

Mirror Mirror. You don’t get to decide what is acceptable for the majority of players or the kind of players ANet wants to satisfy with their endgame.

I guess you didn’t have a problem with the amount of work you put into a legendary, and would never feel the need to complain about not being able to use your legendary on alts, like you could with any uncustomized GW weapon. Ascended gear isn’t needed in low level fractals and naturally acquired through the progression of it. Yes, currently you have to work a month for one piece of ascended gear you can’t get any other way, but that will change. Instead of condemning ascended gear and gear progression, what needs to happen is the addition of more gear, more ways to get the gear and less restriction on how fast you can get the gear.

I get that they want to extend the life time of the gear progression as long as possible now that the horizontal purists forced them to state that they wouldn’t release any more gear this year, but if they artificially slow down the progress too much, then things situations like yours can occur, where a player wants to work hard on end game gear for an alt and has to basically wait out the daily reset times until he can start where he left off with his main.

This is being worked on, so hold your horses. The wisest thing you can do is not to protest the release of more gear any more, although I doubt ANet would listen this time.

The game has rules, limitations and a range of freedoms. If you feel like you deserve easy to acquire max stat gear but the game doesn’t give it to you, all I can say is tough luck. If someone in GW1 told me he deserved 8 sets of easy to acquire 75k armor equipped with Sup Vigs, I’d slap them up one side of the UW and down the other.

Legendaries should take a long time to get and a lot of work, best in slot gear on the plateau they sold us all on should only take as much time and effort to introduce us to whatever mechanic we’re going to use it in, not to become work which will consume our play time we’d like to use for what is actually fun, again going back to what we were sold on.

Gear grinds are not supposed to be the game, we’re supposed to obtain the gear by learning how we’ll use that gear, then we progress our skill through builds and play. If the original intended design of the game still applies, then we need to get rid of this funneled system. If we’re shifting towards the standard mmo design, then they can let us know so many of us can start making new plans.

Are you out of your mind? A statistical increase of 12-15% more effective ALONE is a massive jump. This isn’t the difference between exotic and rare, this is closer to the difference between exotic and masterwork. Gear yourself out in full greens and tell me you don’t see a difference.

I can’t understand how anyone could go out into w3 and not notice a difference in the tiers of gear. Even from rare to exotic you’ll notice the difference once you’ve graduated from knocking on Stonemists door. You’ll even end up buying exotic underwater weapons eventually because of the difference. There’s no way I’m even touching my ranger, which is my only alt again at this point, it would be a total waste of time.

Forcing players to complete dungeons = bad I think

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: kash.9213

kash.9213

I really have to ask though….at level 80, what exactly do you do if not for running some sort of dungeons?

See, I always thought it weird for the majority of the game’s population to not do dungeons. I see such a small percentage of players actually having some kind of dungeon gear. At the least, im pretty surprised not everyone is running with a piece of CoF gear (since its so easy to do). AC gear is harder to tell since its ugly as sin (so I assume players transmute them), but CoF gear is not bad looking. I DO see CoF gear being the most popular…but what i mean is that the majority of players are running some run of the mill stuff. So i take it that they either haven’t run dungeons or aren’t doing it enough.

It might be that it’s because I came from WoW and dabbled a bit in GW1….but are my tastes that different? I mean, didn’t Gw1 have missions? Wouldn’t that be kind of similar to dungeons?

Sure theres WvW if that’s your thing…..but can you really just do that the entire time?

Im just noticing, theres not a whole bunch of things to do at lvl 80. I feel sad now

W3 is all I do with my hour or two after work. I don’t naturally hate dungeons, it took several games built or rebuilt on the gear treadmill-dungeon/raid progression model to turn me sour on them. For the most part, having that looming feeling of having to crank out dailies and scheduled dungeons or raids and knowing that if I miss a few days for whatever reason I’ll be left behind causes me to lose interest in a game very fast. I wouldn’t mind at all if dungeon runners had more varied access to tiered gear if w3 had separate system, and I wouldn’t mind both sharing the same system as long as there was comparable access for both player bases.

Yes, the dailies aren’t much, and the monthly is doable, if…you have the time and patience with that player base to run dungeons. W3 being my game and having limited time to play, I want to help my server fight and hang out with the community there with the time I have. I want to help progress our server as a community and a force, I have no interest in sleeping through a dungeon and only talking to people in lfg language.

in WvW

Im going to go out on a limb here and suggest it is because WM likes to Pvp, against players.

On reset night we watched them mow the lawn at Danelon back and forth thirty times or more, more then half of those runs were auto attacks straight ahead->first guy turns->straight back the other way as the rest follow…but not hitting anything. If they like to player vs player, they should try to find players more often because they’ve hit air more then anything else. The multi boxing is smart though, ties up an entire EB quad so their at-the-keyboard players can defend and hit the borderlands.

Kains other guilds seem solid enough though, I’d rather see them without WM’s pug influence since they have other large guilds in non NA time zones. They would still have the time coverage but probably would fit more snugly into a proper tier and better guilds on their server would get more forum press.

Fun with flanking strike!

in Thief

Posted by: kash.9213

kash.9213

Oh don’t get me wrong, it’s fantastic in a real 1v1.

But in WvW, you don’t usually have the time to dedicate to the finesse, intricacies and beauty of combat. It’s do your combo and get out, especially when you have a commander tag on you like I do. Paints a ‘Kill me now’ target on a class that doesn’t want to be targeted.

Now if it hit 3 targets like the autoattack did, I’d be all over it like white on rice for WvW fights, even if it fails the back hit.

It’s easier and takes less “finesse” then backstab really, I think what shadowkat means has more to do with timing a counter or control rather then just setting up for a spike hit. If you’re s/d you definitely get used that feel that ‘now is the time’ to land tactical strike, or flanking strike, or even #1 when one of your quickeness goes off. Especially in the case of tactical strike, you don’t want to waste that stealth unless you’re doing damage, plus interrupting or locking down a siege operator.

In the case of flanking strike, and let me say this in my manliest voice, think of it as hoola hooping, you have the hips and rhythm to do it or you don’t. After awhile you learn when to use it, and when to turn, hold down pan camer, or just leave it alone during it. After an even longer period of use, you might even learn to use it as an evade plus reposition in a team fight or an evade plus target change. Just use it.

Aside from the back piece that’s exactly what I’ve ended up with just by obtaining what I could afford through badges and karma, with the zerker pieces from gold made by selling materials and other stuff on the trader. The stats you should end up with should be pretty versatile out there, you’re going to down players but more importantly you should have enough vit to survive those thief, ele, mes initial spikes and enough vit/toughness to bug out of a zerg ball if you have shadowstep on utility.

I don’t keep close track of my stats but rounding out I’m above 3k attack and at about 47% crit chance, but you’ll have the soldiers spineguard with ruby.

Every server has their bad wvw players, labeling the entire servers NA group when you yourself have only most likely faced a portion of them is an unfair statement after day one. If you still think all of kains NA are bads then so be it, we’ll be seperated next week regardless of the score anyways.

I think Kains bad players (sure, I’ll call them players) are illuminated more from displays like Danelon camp last night as mentioned in a few posts. Compound that with what’s clearly a culture of aoe karma train builds designed for fast unopposed map flipping and you can’t really blame others for commenting on it.

That of course doesn’t let players from the others servers off the hook, since even pugs should understand their class skills, combo fields and finishers, and just basic game mechanics and shouldn’t get melted by those zergs at all.

I’m still 10/30/0/20/10. Not the best build in general, but worked for the gear I could afford (p/v/t armor+looted rune of the pack, zerker trinkets+looted rubies and weapons) and the variety of stuff I end up doing. I’d recommend people check out the builds posted on these forums if they can afford the precise gear they have planned and all of that.

Try to get yourself the muscle memory for landing your stealth strikes or everything in general, like playing a piano, to where you’re not thinking about. You’ll have to spend some time to make and remake a keymapping that makes sense (always change it when you think of a better layout).

Running S/D myself here.. it a pretty awesome combo, you feel like your contribution to fights have gonne alot more up.. Not to say it incredibly fun to see people just getting confused like hell with the constant blinking :P
One Con is that its so much slower than daggers.. but you get alot more fun being SD rather than DD.. I seriously got tirred of DD Glass 5 f1 1 combo.. Just no fun killing people so fast.. Definatly more epic fights with SD.. not to say alot more durable

The swing animation of sword #1 feels slow, but it’s a cleave. Everything else about the sword feels greasy fast for myself. Sword/dagger is the set that brought me to this game, it’s felt about the same since the betas and always I feel like I’m shedding a few layers when I go back to it after trying something else. I still pretty much only see D/D or P/D thieves though, mostly D/D in our matchups or at least the 6pm pacific playtime.

Unexpected patching/loss of golems

What i find interesting is that the other night when they posted the 3 minute warning . my guild was in a dungeon or fractal and they got a 3 hour warning.

Now what the hell was that about?!?!

If they can set up different zones with different timers then they really should do this for WvW

Please try to remember that like five people cried for a few months for a gear grind, what was Anet supposed to do, not add one? It would be a tragedy if those fragile little snowflakes had their Fractal run interrupted once. We’re w3 players, we don’t need all that fluff like siege golems or…gold.

WvWvW Queues issue [Merged Threads]

I know there’s the issue of the game registering someone as logged in and still in w3 if they crash out or went to desk top or whatever as that other thread mentioned and that makes sense and should be minimal to fix. On voice comms last night I overheard someone explain that the server also sets the queue depending on class, to keep the class numbers balanced. If that’s true, it’s not as easy anymore to jump on an alt that should have a low class population since we all have to grind out Laurels now.

MOAR chest scaling based on loot quality!

The simple loot bag change adds a lot of fun to WvW. Now we get a chest if there is better loot which is just something that kicks off lewt loving brain chemicals even if there is no real difference.

Why stop there? Let’s see bigger chests if a rare is inside and a ridiculous golden JP sized one if there is an exotic inside.

I’d rage as never before if there were a jumping puzzle size box sitting next to my corpse that will never get revived.

Building a WvW Thief

You don’t have to have 30 in SA for w3, but you definitely don’t want to spend your points with the intention of balancing burst and condition damage. I prefer power out there since condition damage comes as consequence and rolls up the rear for our power damage.

Leveling From 2-80 in WvWvW

The mention of the level fifty picking up speed is spot on, that’s right about where both of my characters began not only fitting their boots but loot seemed to normalize as well. Don’t just ride the train to 80 though, try all of your skills and mess around with your build along the way and pick fights you know you’ll probably lose once in awhile.

Whenever you guys say “when our Asians go to sleep”, I picture our Asian players all lined up in some Maguuma boarding house being tucked in for bed by our NA players. Then a bell rings the next day and they all jump back into WvWvW.

PvE Patches Killing WvW

Incidentally, I’m not sure I like daily/monthly achievements that frequently run counter to playing a good, smart game.

I often find myself doing something silly or something I don’t really want to do just because it’s a daily. (“Oo an arrow cart! Let’s all run into his range and dodge around until we hit our daily.” Or, “Noooo, let the ogres die! We need to rez them!”)

Dailies are fail.

Just in general.

That’s exactly how I felt last night on my first daily for the new currency, not so much myself, but what it felt like everyone around me was doing. It almost felt like people were taking dives so everyone else could revive them. I wouldn’t mind so much since it is mostly doing stuff we do already as it is, I’m just a bit upset that people I know who don’t work and will probably have their children taken away by CPS someday can crank out Fractals and get their monthlies and gain the new currency at a far better rate then someone like myself who only does w3.

It’s edging towards what Age of Conan pvp ended up being. It was a handful of dedicated pvpers holding siege defenses for their guild and alliance being fried by pvers in raid/dungeon gear obtained in a month because the pvp gear took ages to get legit and getting a full raid or dungeon set as a pvper was brain numbing. I’m not looking forward at all to the Laurel grind to get the amulet, rings, and slots filled as a non pver. The hour or so I get after work on a weekday will be used ensuring I get my daily done since this grind will stretch out over four or five months.

I agree that varied groups have their place, but it’s sort of been typecast into one thing by so many of these groups that they sort of pigeon hole themselves.

This is a little vague to me, could you explain?

In that those groups find a comfort zone, and are horribly uncomfortable outside of it. Specialties are great, there’s people on Mag who have some meta mechanics down to a science that when something within their specialty is needed, we summon them like on the “like a good neighbor state farm is there” commercial. It’s those groups who want to claim dominance who become totally dominated by the rest of the game that surrounds their self proclaimed niche.

Sometimes you’re needed for something else and you simply have to be good enough to jump in and keep the pace. This is what I’m seeing more of in this tier, are those more specialized groups being capable of adapting when needed, or at least not embarrassingly self imploding. It’s much more fun not entirely knowing what we’re possibly up against at any given encounter.

I had to get my thinking cap, reading glasses, and contemplative Gandalf pipe to figure out how your post didn’t just say what the post you quoted said, it was like reversed summarized. Fun read though.

Honestly guys… OG is a great guild, and as a commander, if I could control their movements, I would worry about so much less. BT is also a great guild, and their large-scale open combat is just as valid as OG’s roaming.

Can we leave it at that?

Apparently not.

The differences in opinion between Player Skill and Objective Completion will always be debated in games like these.

The commander fervently typing away orders and info to his zerg/team/etc that is outmanned sieging against a stronger force can argue it takes skill to do that as much as a player who can effectively take on a 2v1 or 3v1 and survive/win.

Example: Capture the Flag. Theres the guy who gets 10 kills and zero deaths, but never scores a flag capture. Then theres the guy who didnt get any kills, but ninja’d and ran back with the flag everytime without so much as being touched. Who is the better player? The Killer? He could of slaughtered everyone and simply walked with it after. Or the Capturer? Who never needed to bother with anyone else in the first place?

Personally, If i kill you. And your dead. What objective, besides rez running and resupplying, are you putting effort/help into actually after being killed? Kill em enough times and they’ll either stop and get kitten, or send an unimaginably larger force against you.

Theres a very real and positive (towards your team) effect from having a 5-10man killsquad roam around and slaughter everything that moves, putting swords all along the map and causing general Chaos amongst the defenders.

Plus lets say you have 50 players on the map. 10 Players are seasoned tPvP type killers. The other 40 are generally versed WvWers with good response time to orders.

Would you zerg it with all 50 players on the map? Divide maybe into two groups?

Personally i’d stick all those tPvP types all together and let them go off on their own.
Their 10 tPvP players are a over all larger force then what a normal 10 man could bring. And the 40 WvWers could be sent to an area to quickly and effectively take advantage of such a blatant distraction and proceed to ninja/quick cap/steamroll another objective that actually had WvW practical purpose.

tPvPers serve better purpose on the battlefield by being able to fight effectively, whether in a small group or alone. But are generally wasted when put into a zerg situation. You want tPvPers running Supply? For Real? When instead you could just send them to the counter-chokepoint of the keep your currently trying to siege and have them blockade any enemy reinforcements from securing supply/defensive siege within while trying to run back into that tower/keep/castle.

Kill squads, 5 Mans, and Roamers all can have purposes on the battlefield, each actually benefiting the server, just as much as the zergers, defenders, and supply runners.

I agree that varied groups have their place, but it’s sort of been typecast into one thing by so many of these groups that they sort of pigeon hole themselves.

Just don’t do it. It’s an excellent skill for a clutch play out on the terrain, but if some commander want’s to protect their junk, they can bust towers or keeps that are housing treb batteries. You’re logging in to have fun, not for work.

It’s culling. Everytime I see an FA, there’s 20+ hidden in culling somewhere. You have to fish them out. The best bait is siege. Drop siege and just stack AE on the siege. Bam instant badges.

I find the best bait to be up-levels. If I’m in a squad or herd being routed or going in to blast something, I’ll run shoulder to shoulder with one because they’re sure to go down first and while everyone dives in for the stomp I go about my business.
