Your guys comments why why these forums are so 50/50. Your duo comments are the same as people fighting for team ques. Literally everything you are saying is why people want team que something we just got rid of.
Also yes duo queing is a advantage. Saying otherwise is asinine.
If you want it to be a social game for fun, then it should have full 5 man team ques.
If you want it to be a competitive league/system then it needs to be only solo que not duo ques.
The title of this thread is " Is duo Q healthy for the game?" the answer is no. Because people not duo queing do not like seeing duo que teams and people who want to play with there friends cant. Saying that they can play in unranked is simply catering to the few of you who want everything perfect for your situation which is you want it competitive and you only are comfortable talking to 1-2 people who also PvP.

This line alone shows my point “I guess there are a few points where we won’t be able to agree. I agree that in a situation (match) where someone has superior resources (duo partner) it seems unfair. First S1- we went like 15-9. Season 2 we went 12-7 then and S3/4 we were either 1-2 or 2-1 since the guild rewards are jacked up just like the placement matches are now.
Good players figured us out after the 1st or 2nd fight. For instance once we ran a full trap DH with a Full trap condi ranger and had a mesmer to pull them into the traps.
In the picture above we had a ele shouts, a druid and that druid ran the + dmg on heals and our warrior ran full zerker with rampage. Strength-discipline-zerk and all we did was keep him alive. Once again if the other team knew this was the plan a moa from a engy or mesmer would come out on the rampage crushing our comp.
This whole talk is about fairness. If you are saying that team ques are unfair then duo ques are too. Currently your trying to grab 1 other great player so you guys can run threw people. There is no design set up. Like in a previous comment you talked about one playing ranger with a rev or a ele with a DH etc etc.

You say its a social game but currently played it is not. We had people ask to join our guild simply because we would let them play any class and we said we can come up with you for your play style. Even though we failed alot we came up with some fun stuff. Your not getting that from DUO que.

Even in your comment to husky boy you said you found people to play with. The problem was not finding people to play with, the problem has been build diversity, match making, the community and the League system.
We have now changed the League into a leader board system where titles (prestige) is the most important factor and by doing so you should make it fair as possible which would be solo que. If you want it to be social make it a team game again.

Its exponentially harder to get 3 or 4 or 5 in a team. That’s the whole point of pvp guilds and then getting 4 other people who want to team with you. Its much much much easier to find one person who is willing to team up with you.
For example i actually don’t play that much (usually weekends only) and as such i cant commit to a full 5 man team. But when i login i solo q or if i have a few friends online in my list i can usually whisper one to see if they want to duo a couple matches. Get them done and logoff.
Waaaaaay easier than 4 or 5 man or even 3 (well 3 is not too hard )

The best part of a team game is coming up with team builds. We dont have that anymore. Having a 2 man comp doesnt allow for a unique team comp.
We as a 3 man team/4 man team were able to destroy certain teams not ready for the crazy trick we had. Yet other teams figured us out quick and we would get crushed.
We now have a league where we want it fair as possible and you guys are arguing from a social perspective and the fairness of 5 mans when you didnt need 5 mans to be effective.

No, certainly not everyone can find/make a 5-man. Do you know how hard that is? Finding 4 other quality players, all playing at the same time, is very very difficult unless you already have plenty of name recognition like Helseth. Takes more time searching for people than you’ll spend playing.
But to find one person is easy. Play a match, keep your eyes open, and then message the 1-2 good people after the match. Most people are friendly to me, I feel certain they’ll be the same towards you. Making a 5-man, especially a consistent 5-man, requires hours of maintenance every day. Finding a good duo partner for a few games is simple, you just have to reach out to people.
As for people who want to get the top spot on the leaderboard but also handicap themselves by playing solo: what did they expect? That’s a bad decision. I’m not making a moral argument here, just noting that when you’re given the opportunity to gain an easy competitive advantage and you throw it away, should you be rewarded by having teamplay taken away from everyone who enjoys it? Even Sindrener, who is currently #1 or #2 in EU, is duoing, and he did that during the offseason because he wanted to, not because he had to. Teamplay is and has always been a huge part of the game, including ranked. You haven’t said anything in relation to what I said about build diversity in a pure solo queue and I wonder if that’s because you haven’t really thought through how strategy goes down the toilet without teamplay.
I solo que 95% of the first 3 seasons and i did it as a support character. People are gonna play certain roles because they like it. There is a thread about a bunker guard being viable. People are playing different roles.
Also this is the burst meta, i assume with the solo que changes that instead of playing zerk amulet for the ESL players. They simply switched the marauder and so forth.
People are gonna play what they are comfortable with and what they think gives them the best chance to win. I had someone ask to party with me because they thought i was a good support ele which was the person in the picture above.
People notice other players. Like ohh such and such is a bunker do not target that necro, such and such is a glass ele target them.
Also with the lack of build diversity in PvP you are not gonna see crazy builds in the gold-platinum-legendary that are ineffective.

I had a friend do his 10 games last night and there was a thief-DH combo that he ran into 3 times. He was playing thief and couldnt beat the other thief so he tried to do other things.
Side note- a player named Captain G***** was whispering him and giving him grief all game. Dude your a douch hope you see this.
But he couldnt get away with any thing because if the guardian saw him he would clearly tell his thief team mate.
Also I went to tokers stream to see his hes playing thief since my friend was looking to improve. (he wasnt) But you could tell he didnt like it either. He had a loss were the other team had 2 duo ques and his team was all solo ques.
It either a team game or not. Anet and this community are all over the place with this. If you want it to be a social game make it open 5 vs 5 and ask for better match making.
Or make it solo que.
I have to agree with many of the things you bring up.
Guild Halls in general, im the guild leader of my guild but its a title that 3-5 of us have shared. We are level 60 but its been basically 5 of us upgrading the whole thing. We are running into the opposite problem.
Unlocked decorating for everyone and then when people see how much everything costs to decorate they dont want too. We asked a few and the responses are like ohh you guys put the old and effort into it. So its become a problem all the way around i think.
I just saw another thread on scribing complaining about the ice boxes we can make this year.
Im really just disappointed with scribing. I and my guild mates between the 5 of us probably put in 10k worth of mats and probably spent 5-7 k of personal gold to upgrade the guild hall.
Then I personally spent 800 gold on scribing not including the mats i used and saved up for.
I want what you said which like to create my own house/village.
Like i havent even thought about wall art but OMG that would be great. We have pictures of moto and princess moto hanging up and its funny.
But we need both, we need themed items and fun tiems for different areas to decorate.
When a big sales point of HOT was Guild Halls i just sit back and wonder sometimes. I mean wall art sounds amazing right now and i bet nothing in the near future will have it.
Most people in pvp have only base toughness. I fail to see why you’re hitting so low. I’ve rolled a warrior a few games this season when my main was a bad match. Gs f1 zerker hits hard af hitting 6k or higher once I properly stack might during the fight I’ve pulled 9k out of it. Not insanely high but that’s gonna hurt. Highest hit I’ve taken this season was a 17k Maul from a Druid pet.
My only guess is they are timing my bursts.
For instance a ele is casting shout can give frost aura and protection to a necro. The necro can then trait for dmg reduced if i have psn and/or chill. So thats my only guess. That right there is i think 60% damage reduced.
To be honest i cant tell you why but i could post kitten and my build when doing it. I mean the amount of healing from engys/druids and eles are out doing the dps i was putting out so i went back to condi.
I really LOVE this new system, it feels incredibly fun and rewarding, competing for top 10 makes the games really competitive and allowing only solo or duo was a great change as it means that you can’t be carried to high MMR by a 3+ queue.
There are a few issues1. Skyhammer, while infrequently voted for, this map caters too heavily to necro or DH comps, and is horrible for thief and revenant. The jump pads need a nerf and no port spots need to be fixed if this map is left in ranked rotation. I main thief but will usually swap to necro or DH if I get this map and it shouldn’t be like that.
2. Double duo q’s vs solo queues. I think to make the game more solo queue friendly if there are 2 duo queues and 6 solo queues put one duo on each team, to minimize the chance that solo queuer’s will have a near impossible game against two organized duos.
3. This leads me to my next point, for whatever reason losing to top tier players makes you lose ALOT of mmr, i haven’t experienced this personally on this account as I have been within the top 5 fairly steadily, but I have heard lower ranked people can lose anywhere from 50-70 rank points for losing to top 5 players. This doesn’t make sense honestly and feels really unfriendly towards lower ranked players because of the amount of games they will have to win to climb back up again. If anything losing to top players should make you lose LESS points instead of more, if you yourself are lower.
4. Placement matches – your placement matches are THE most important games as they can determine whether you start at 1700 or 1900, and looking through the top leader boards i see a lot of top tier players who are stuck in mid plat because they may have gotten unluckier placement games. As I said before I personally haven’t experienced this issue as I was placed around 1850 and climbed to 2000 but I have alot of friends who feel like they have to put in way more effort than I do just to come close to top 20. Some improvement to this system could make vying for top 10 far more competitive than it already is and I would personally like to see skilled players have a better chance to climb to the top.
All in all, I cant speak enough to what an improvement this is over the past ranked systems. Legendary rank is pretigious, and earning it feels good, it isn’t awarded to anyone who grinds or gets carried so there is actual meaning. The top 3 titles will encourage players to continue to be competitive and to stay on top especially near the end of the season when people start to get burned out on ranked queues, and decay works to the same effect.

3/4- Yeah the placement guys are something but i think everyone can agree this league set up is much better then the other one.
I somehow managed to place in the top 5 after my placement matches (won 9 lost 1). Not really sure how I feel about that because I know I’m not good enough to be here at all. Now I’m really hesitant to play more matches because I’m probably going to get beat down to low /mid plat (where I probably belong) and that just won’t be fun to lose so many matches in a row.
Honestly I’d have preferred to have started low so I could climb instead of starting off high and being expected to fall.
However I’m also considering just playing once every 3 days and see how high I can end at.

Yes, and every player also has the option to ignore switching it and believe it or not, many will do so.
Classstacking is an issue, especially when you try to provide balanced games and even more so when you look at all the powercreep that’s still in the game.
I’m honestly in favor of this, rounds with one class representative each would be far more entertaining and offer a lot more challenge.
Yes, this would also mean switching out should not be an option or had to be changed in quite a way (like not joining as a class that’s already on your team and so on).
You got to look at team comp as well. If i see a team where they have 2 necros and 2 DH. I dont mind if we have 2 shout ele.
If we have a team where im a ele and we have 2 thieves a engy and rev. Maybe i should switch since no one can help me sustain.
With that though, it comes down to how much people want to win and skilled they are. I wouldnt mind if i had caed and toker on my team and they both played thief. I mean there are so many factors to throw in.
One thing i would rant about is the DUO que. Lol it is so dumb to get rid of team play and not eliminate it all.
It should be solo que or nothing. Or Team que option like when we had solo and team que. Dont do this hybrid que system. If we want solo que just make it solo que.

I took my warrior build into unranked before the season and i was crushing, season started and its below average.
I did the same thing with my necro build. Thankfully i only lost 2 games in ranked because of my poor builds on warrior and necro.
Yea, fresh air is unranked viable only, not for ranked, at least gold+.
The most important class is thief in gold, I am finding. Team with the best of most theives just steamrolls due to the insane mobility and burst. They can 1v1 pretty well most classes, can always get away if not, and are the best +1. Without revenant to keep them in check, thieves run wild.

I was in a match where we had 2 necro 2 eles and a thief. The thief went far and lost to a mesmer. Our other ele switched to mesmer and then beat that same mesmer at far. The thief went on to lose to a staff ele at home.
I have also had matches where people didnt play traditional roles. Like 1 game i was ele and we had 2 thieves and 2 DH. The 2 thieves stayed in the zerg fights and 1 of the DH was sitting on the outside cap points winning 1 vs 1.
I understand what you are saying, people have to be good at there roles.
I’ve been using my condi warrior build, sword/torch and mace/shield with wanderers amulet and krait runes. It has been working pretty well so far against almost anything I’ve run in to.
I think based on the speed of rotating this season, this may actually be one of the better builds out there.

Ive seen alot of condi out of everyone so i assume mace/shield with longbow is probably the best way to go.
Every time I do bursts in berzerker, they seem so weak. Regular eviscerate still doing it for me though.
hahaha yeah, I gave up on power builds when i noticed the same thing. My core kill shots and eviscerate are doing 1-2k more damage then the zerker form one.
Like i took a screen print but i gave up because i was doing 1k damage with multiple F1 with greatsword on a necro. The zerker eviscerate did 3k and i was like screw it.
I was running beserker amulet with rune of strength and using call to arms to jump into team fights. I was also using sigil of force and im sitting here doing 1-3 damage.
While the condi mesmer, burn-trap guardian and necro 5X more damage. (lol im just throwing out a number)

Ah ok. I been on my stance warrior still, and I have actually been able to out pressure some standard staff rangers. I have been very surprised. I guess the small cd nerfs they got made a large enough difference.
LOL awesome, i was in a 1 vs 1 vs what seemed to be a healing druid and he slowly beat me. We had to be fighting for over a 60 sec because i think i was able to use my stances twice.
IMO condi warrior in PvP is the better version and i simply havent wanted to play condi. So maybe its me swinging and missing at the curve.
Lol, there wasn’t some subtle “git gud” or similar message to that. It was exactly as it appeared. I’m glad you’re doing well so far. To be honest, based on what I’ve seen in my ~30 ish matches this season so far, warriors are in a fairly ok place. I’d honestly go as far as to call us one of the more balanced classes in the game. We have power/condi/hybrid options. Full yolo, full tanky (still no bunker or support builds) are both viable. We can be beaten when counterplayed, but we can beat any class with tweaks to a build before a match starts (See >50% DH/mesmer/warrior? Signet of Might baby). Are we a perfect class? No, not even close. But I don’t think we need any major overhauls mid-season unless the meta shifts in some massively unfavorable way.

any power war should do. Rifle is the best weapon vs guard. Dont forget that pp thief is also autowin vs guards.

From a warrior perspective i have been really struggling to play power warrior this season.
I so not feel as useful as DH in team fights and the 1 vs 1 take so long that it usually doesnt end up a 1 vs 1.

First off: I am not expecting much sympathy for this issue, but I will voice my opinion anyway.
So this patch introduced exclusive titles for the top 250 pvp players of the season. Normally this would be fine, but they also give 6 AP each. I would propose removing the AP from these titles.
Rank 1: God of PvP.
Rank 2: Legendary Demigod.
Rank 3: Immortal Legend.
Rank 4 – 10: Unyielding Legend.
Rank 11 – 25: Relentless Legend.
Rank 26 – 100: Ruthless Legend.
Rank 101 – 250: Merciless Legend.total: 42 AP
Reasons:
1) Only a limited amount of players can get them, most of them will go to people who do not even care about the AP part.
2) Even if someone tries hard the whole season, they are excluded from any titles because of the harsh MMR decay of 100 per day. If you for some reason cannot play in the last week of the season all your efforts are for nothing.
3) EU will have a harder time to earn these since NA has a lower playerbase and lower skilled players compared to EU.Im with you,
Most of these people dont understand that the AP is also a competition among those in that area.
For instance i know people in the top 500 NA and do not want to fall below that and they know the people trying to pass them. I currently have a guild mate only 200 AP behind me and he is always making comments about how hes gonna catch me.
PvP like WvW and the AP points, there is a competition for a few people in those fields. People who dont get it, i dont understand why you would judge the OP when he/she has clearly invested more time into the game then you have.
Its almost like being back in H.S where all the dumb kids are making fun of the smart kid for getting good grades in this thread.
Can you explain how this mere 6AP is a problem for your competition?
If some one who has the same amount of AP as you and he somehow managed to get this 6AP, he deserves to be in front of you.

For some people the AP thing is very important. So making valid points from both sides should be looked at.
Im simply a person who has been playing for a long time, the AP mean nothing to me other then skins but i know alot of people who look at as the challenge of the game.
The leaderboard runs on different servers from the old one, so the web API isn’t hooked up yet. It’s being worked on, though!

Ill be honest, i enjoy this season much more even if i dont make the top 250. Though there is some balance issues with the ability to play certain classes against other classes.
That aside this totally feels like random MMR making. I mean the top players should be facing each other to see who is the best ranked players. I do not know if that happening but with the win/losses i would say no.
So to start the season i was 10-3. Today i logged in and went 3-7 to start. This was all solo que, 1 player from a match we won asked to team up and we went on to win our next 4.
There is obvious build set ups and match ups that are better and then skill comes in but i dont think we can say this is a true leader board since MM is playing a bigger factor.
It is possible that you did really well, so were matched up against others that were doing really well and you just didn’t size up to them and so you’re MMR is being adjusted.
My first 15 games after my initial 10 had my ranking being adjusted by around 30 points per win and 20 points per loss. Almost 40 games in the points are now in the low 20s/ upper teens for a win and low teens for a loss. I figure I’m stabilizing. I’m okay with that. My matches have been entertaining. More data in (i.e. games) the more accurate my ranking.
Ohh i have no problem with that. If im were im suppose to be well then awesome im a happy camper.
I threw up my photo because i found it odd. I mean some really close games when i loss and then some not so much when i won. I mean when i was solo queing i accepted some of the games as losses. When i partied with 1 person who was pretty good we won 4 straight.
I just wonder on a few things. For instance why can we not see our team mates ranks or ratings?
No honestly though the season itself is alot more fun then the grind of the PiP system. Im just curious about the set up of Match making.
Edit- Let me better explain myself, my post actually didnt say anything. If you go back to my picture. Before i started winning you will see a ele game i lost on temple 503-390.
In this match my teams comp was 2 eles, 2 necros and a thief. 1 necro capped home and the thief went far. The thief lost a 1 vs 1 to a condi mesmer. We ended up losing mid. The other ele switched to condi mesmer mid matched and that person went far and killed the other mesmer in a 1 vs 1. Later we left the thief to fight a staff dps ele in a 1 vs 1 he ended up losing. At the end of the match we had won trang. I sustained a 1 vs 2 at far for help to come. The thief was in a 2 vs 2 at mid and as i was rotating he was killed. We were probably at 310 and held a 3 cap to 390 before he died.
My question becomes how does MM determine who to put this thief on what team? He was unable to win any 1 vs 1 and couldnt support or even survive in team fights. He was clearly the weakest link.
If we go back to the photo on my warrior in the 15 minute game. Now this one was far less obvious but a key point in the match was the stillness/trang buff. I was engage at a 1 vs 1 on the enemy far, a 2vs 2 at stillness and trang. Well at stillness the 2 enemys had fallen down and 1 team mate went to down to help with the fight. Our DH did not cap the buff and ran to home where there was no one. One enemy was killed down stairs and ran back to the buff and capped it. The DH sat on home and this was the changing point of the match. The points were 1,1 and 0. It then became +2 for them.
How does MM determine the DH here who sat on a point on such a close match. The person who was fighting with the DH by stillness at 2:30 was whispering me to vent.

Ill be honest, i enjoy this season much more even if i dont make the top 250. Though there is some balance issues with the ability to play certain classes against other classes.
That aside this totally feels like random MMR making. I mean the top players should be facing each other to see who is the best ranked players. I do not know if that happening but with the win/losses i would say no.
So to start the season i was 10-3. Today i logged in and went 3-7 to start. This was all solo que, 1 player from a match we won asked to team up and we went on to win our next 4.
There is obvious build set ups and match ups that are better and then skill comes in but i dont think we can say this is a true leader board since MM is playing a bigger factor.
I would like to be able to see the top 250 for NA and EU. I think putting it on the GW2 page also shows people looking at the game, ohhh they have a active PvP scene.
But mostly i just would like to see the names of the top 250 for each area.

I threw up the picture because of the last paragraph he wrote.
Saying i needed to practice and that the meta changes etc etc etc.
I just wanted to point out i have opinion on the state of the warrior only playing stances and other things should be changed for better build diversity.

Yeah im not sure what to say to help, you dont have a pic of the screen comp. You dont have a video and the match has a decent score.
You have alot of the rewards so nice job on that but it doesnt say much.

For me i honestly want to know where im rated. I dont understand this new leaderboard, im seeing names who should be really high on the list with 25 wins and 12 losses in the bottom 100.
I dont know the accuracy of this leader board or the season, i have many questions too.

I mean come on, the only reason i dont have mystic coins is because Anet forced the Guild Halls on us. WvW upgrades need alot of mystic coins and as a guild where i and 4 others brought it up from 0-60.
We didnt want to spend 5k gold on guild halls for 800g on scribing to have some nice looking decorations.
My point with WvW was my guild already unlocked everything with favor. Then Hot comes out and says we need X amount of mystic coins for things you have already unlocked.
Seriously its like i bought a car for $10,000 and it was a good car great even. Then the car dealer ship calls and say hey we got a upgrade for it. We got all these nice things for it and its a small price upgrade. I say sure awesome this should be nice. I go to get my upgraded car and they decided to take out the power steering and AC.
Im saying right now that i had the ac and power steering before (mystic coins) i dont have them because of a bogus upgrade you sold me car dealership. The dealership says well we already upgraded it so this is how it is from now on. Dealership also tells me, you know how your car was $10,000. I say yeah? Well now its a $100,000 car and your insurance for it went up 10X.
Im like what! What did you do that made it this nice? Care dealer ship goes silent …… (this is where im at with 1g mystic coins, i understand i should of planned months in advanced to get the shoulder pc after this but my goodness you dont see any problem with this?)
My comment was meant to be in general because it’s a generalized statement. Yes, once upon a time, we had a plethora of viable builds (though in sPvP you only ever really saw Hambow and Shoutbow builds. Note the similarity between the two?). And since then a lot of our traits and more controlly abilities have been nerfed or changed out of viability, or something better came up. Another thing worth noting that was pre-HoT, defense and discipline trees were a staple with 90% of meta or even remotely viable warrior PvP builds. We had hoped HoT would of been nicer to us and get us away from those two as a staple, but it wasn’t the case, and here we are. You can still very easily use a Hambow build. Will it be great? Probably not. But nothing is stopping you from using it.
In recent weeks I’ve seen (and tested) various dual axe+random secondary set builds, both condi and power. And that’s without any changes having gone into place yet. The couple of weeks I ran dual axe I actually ended up having a blast and getting a lot more kills than expected, mostly due to the fact that nobody really expected that kind of build.
In any case, I don’t think a change to one or two abilities are going to be what puts warrior back in the glory days of our limelight. What change could they possibly give to Throw Bolas to make any sort of difference to us, let alone make it a pick over berserker stance, endure pain, outrage, or shattering blow? Make it land no matter the state of the target? With the amount of evades, blocks, invulns, condi clear (which is now a staple due to the condi meta), etc it’s simply not a viable pick.
You want to know what would make Warrior worth picking? Consistent condi clear, less animated burst skills that are insanely easy to avoid, the ability to stick to targets better, more consistent healing outside of AH and Healing Signet, and the possibility to provide decent party support via boons or the like, meaning buffs to shouts and/or warhorn. Do you see any of this happening? Because I sure don’t. Back to my original point. You cannot and will not have all classes being in the same tier of one another. It just doesn’t happen. Balance is a tricky as hell thing, and even games that are solely PvP based never get it quite right (Just talk to folks in League of Legends or Overwatch). In the next xpac something else will come along as the dominant class and the meta will shift in some way. Your choices are to follow the meta and succeed, or play the class you want and lower your chances (supposing it’s outside the meta). It’s up to you really.
And, for the record, warriors at the moment are in a fairly solid place I’ve found. I’ve found 2 currently viable builds that I’ve been more than successful with. (currently sitting on a 51.12% W/L) So practice up, the season is coming, changes are coming, and none of them care if you’re not ready or not participating in it.
Why is simply asking for these skills to be made better harder?
For instance throw obalas does what entangle does and roots them lets just say twice. Forces thieves to double double if they want out. Extend the cool down to 25 to make it something where you actually time it. Skill game play
Bulls charge and stomp have really high cd for what they do. Bulls charge when traited does less then 1k damage base which is less the the rage skills are in base form. When the rage skills have lower CD. Im asking for a simply change in DPS, which is that hard?
Or how about stomp being unblockable since it has a 40 cd. Too many times a random condi sneaks in and you dont break out and miss hitting everyone.
How about giving Lich form and rampage there 5 sec back and and giving more pulse of stability?
Yes balancing a game is hard but when you can clearly see the things that are not working you can fix it.
Also pre-HOT there was shout bow with tactics-defense discpline. There was DPS warrior with either mace-shield/hammer with greatsword that used power/defense/discpline. 1 build uses shouts and the other stances with physical skills.
A lesser build but we all saw it was the rifle warrior with arms- defense-discpline. Pre HOT there were builds where all 5 specs were used. Now its is 3/6 and yes most people can get a 50%.
So you spent a lot of money on things you wanted. You spent a lot of mystic coins on things you wanted. Now you’re unhappy because you have no money nor mystic coins?

Actually no, alot of the WvW things were things i had before HOT.
Anet made it so to WvW you need to dump mats into a toilet that allows for boons/upgrades/ other things that you would of gotten had you just been in WvW.
As someone who spent alot of time upgrading camps and towers defending small areas in CD home land. Things like that was alot of fun which is why I am nearly done with my WvW AP yet still being less then 1k in WvW since i mostly played before they gave you points in WvW.
So to recap again, i have to dump mats into a the guild toilet for WvW upgrades that i used to be able to have threw actually playing WvW.
I have all the necessary things to make the item other then mystic coins which are at a really high price of 1 gold a pc.

So i was gonna finish the shoulder skin from the christmas event this year.
I have everything besides the 12 mischief sigils and 138 mystic coins. I look on the trading post and boom its 1gold each.
Ive been dumping them into the guild hall (guild toilet) for WvW buffs even though it takes 3k WvW badges to make 1 statue and for a small guild thats super fair. (not) Yet im hit again with this.
I get the infusion from the new map absorbing all the ectos people are getting from farming from AB but im dying here coach. As someone who mostly pvp and wvw. This is infuriating trying to get these other skins when i run on next to no gold all the time!!!
First off: I am not expecting much sympathy for this issue, but I will voice my opinion anyway.
So this patch introduced exclusive titles for the top 250 pvp players of the season. Normally this would be fine, but they also give 6 AP each. I would propose removing the AP from these titles.
Rank 1: God of PvP.
Rank 2: Legendary Demigod.
Rank 3: Immortal Legend.
Rank 4 – 10: Unyielding Legend.
Rank 11 – 25: Relentless Legend.
Rank 26 – 100: Ruthless Legend.
Rank 101 – 250: Merciless Legend.total: 42 AP
Reasons:
1) Only a limited amount of players can get them, most of them will go to people who do not even care about the AP part.
2) Even if someone tries hard the whole season, they are excluded from any titles because of the harsh MMR decay of 100 per day. If you for some reason cannot play in the last week of the season all your efforts are for nothing.
3) EU will have a harder time to earn these since NA has a lower playerbase and lower skilled players compared to EU.

Most of these people dont understand that the AP is also a competition among those in that area.
For instance i know people in the top 500 NA and do not want to fall below that and they know the people trying to pass them. I currently have a guild mate only 200 AP behind me and he is always making comments about how hes gonna catch me.
PvP like WvW and the AP points, there is a competition for a few people in those fields. People who dont get it, i dont understand why you would judge the OP when he/she has clearly invested more time into the game then you have.
Its almost like being back in H.S where all the dumb kids are making fun of the smart kid for getting good grades in this thread.

Basic things that PvP needed years ago.
Good leader board of top 500 players, top 10- based on class, unique titles and skins not handed out to anyone who casually plays it for 2 weeks, good build diversity for classes as well with a decent reward system.
Alot of people are mad because Anet has changed the direction of the game not for the betterment of the game.
For instance since you bring up the new season, they got rid of team que. What was the point of getting rid of 8 vs 8 hot joins? I would rather play stronghold 8 vs 8 then a season where i go 50-5 and i see people above me at 100-100.
So i i say the opposite, Anet get your act together and give PvP one good season! just one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Read they made it impossible for people who are not no lifes grinders pro league players to get to legendary. Should be fun.

I remember the last grind boards where wins/losses gave points. I was on the same page as OE and i had like a fifty five percent (it wrote kitten for that?) win rate and he had like 70%.
I was like omg he is only 5 spots ahead .(then i realized i had played like 40 more games to accomplish the same amount of points)
I realized the whole thing was a sham when i didnt see toker,tarcis or Nos in the top 100.
Who knows this can be the new worse where we say Anet this is the new bottom floor.
I used to watch the changes happening in this game and wonder how progress was so slow and the devs were seemingly so inept. And then I read the employee reviews on glassdoor.com. The problems with the game are a result of basic management principles being flubbed.
Simply put, talented employees are underpayed and not recognized at anet. Instead, the more senior guys “go with the flow” guys rise up the ranks and are not held accountable for poor performance. What we have been seeing recently is much of their talent leaving the company resulting in an employee base consisting largely of the least effective and productive employees. Granted, it likely varies by department, and the disparities in the quality between the various content released shows as much, but at the end of the day their management style sucks.
And so, that’s why poor systems are repeatedly released and we are still in the testing phase five years in.

Min wage is gonna be $11 at the end of the month here and the Bellevue, Redmond, Seattle Area are easily the most expensive places to live.
Seattle pays bike messengers pretty well based on packages delivered.
Alot of the things written are not surprising but now it brings all suspicions full circle.
I mean the Deus EX Machina that has been happening in the GW2 story since HOT release has been really hard to accept. Like everyone was willing to accept the Zhaitan situation until you got to the dungeon.
The WvW and PvP scene has straight been dump since HOT. I mean they force a new guild hall which requires a gold sink but WvW and PvP give you very little rewards personally and for the guild hall. Thats balance aside as well as the OP point of direction. Clearly they are at a lost.
Wooden Potatoes last video on Braham actually showed some serious flaws in the thought process the character and the story lines process.
Everything from the article on the cons sign is a pretty big issue. Low pay equals people living and the identity of the game changing from patch to patch since new eyes are seeing. This also happens because they are riding and dying on this 1 game.
Something Anet should take notice of is most people wrote “free snacks” and never a good indicator of a good company. Liking the people you work with is the same thing because money/time/ and appreciation will always come before the other 2.
Every HoT map is basically a LFG map. If you don’t get into a populated map, your out of luck for 2 hours. One of the biggest gripes I have with HoT.

Im ok with since when you are in a small guild you get more control over areas in the guild hall where as people in a big guild halls have rules.
Like people get mad when taking fractal stuff, triple trouble boss drops, etc etc etc
I just want scribing to be better since we have to put in all this time for alot stuff that just feel like garbage when done.

They can be frustrating, when HOT first came out i couldnt join my guild mates in VB/AB because i didnt have masterys as i was playing with the HOT PvP builds.
I actually used teleport to a friend to fight the dragons/bosses in VB to join them.
I have 133 MP and i have filled the XP bar of 2 mastery lines and almost done with a third. I havent unlocked the new skills because im not a fan of DS or TD.
So yes they can be grinds especially when people are starting out with different levels and you want to do things together.
The map design was good but lets look at AB,TD,DS. They are all zerg maps. Yes you can do the events with 2-3 people. But what if the people you play with are not on or didnt have a good experience and dont want to do those events again?
I have friends who dont play DS because they crash. So this eliminates 1 of 4 areas that came with HOT.
I can understand your place because you enjoy the creativity of the expansion.
My complaint is that when they came up with this great idea, they did it for everything. All HOT specs are OP in a way, 3 out of 4 maps in HOT are nearly the same with some really annoying factors for people who dont want to play in the zerg, as well as the other things i brought up.
When GW2 was a very creative and top notched mechanics game when it came out. Other MMOs took what GW2 did and they are now changing there systems. Now HOT has been out for over a year and it has many things that turn people off for legitimate reasons.
I was gonna add it to the other scribing threads but i couldnt really find one in the first 5-6 pages.
I just want Anet to upgrade the scribing for our guild halls.
Others have brought up interactions. So the ability to makes chairs that characters can sit in. For me the ability to turn off/on the lighting on candles and fire pits.
Many others have brought in things such as beds and different types of housing.
I really wish Anet would put out these options. I mean a big sales point of HOT was guild halls and scribing. The ability to decorate your guild hall which was a huge appeal to everyone has died off for multiple reasons.
I personally have spent around 800g not including the month to month of saving mats to scribe. 2 other guild mates have leveled there scribing and though we all enjoy it. It feels very limiting.
The items we have the most fun with are the lunar new year fireworks.
I watched the WP videos and he made a comment about how awesome his guild hall looked and how his guild probably put in around 10k gold for scribing.
Ok thats another subject but Anet if we are expected to put thousands of mats and gold into the guild hall and then do it for scribing.
Can you at least give us the players the ability to interact with some of the items we make. I still dont get how we make a fire place and then cant start a fire. Or make alot of candles but they dont light up a dark area or for us to have the ability to put the flame out.
There is a million things we can all add and i simply want Anet add/make better a big reason some of us bought HOT.

VG= 2 necros, 2 mesmers, 2 ps warriors, 1 DH, 1 druid, 1 vanilla ranger, 1 ele
For gors we made some switches, Mostly same group 2 left
Gors= 1 dh, 1 rev, 2 ps warriors, 2 druids, 3 eles, 1 vanilla ranger
Sab= 1 dh, 1 rev, 2 ps warriors, 2 druids, 3 eles, 1 vanilla ranger
Not an Engi in sight…..I cry and die inside.
Yeah ive had a issue with the patch that made raids this way. This screen shot is of a group before the patch.
Obviously groups are gonna want to use the the comp that has the best chance for success but my goodness. Anet has made raids as dull as PvP. I mean they are literally taking away any form of skill away from the game and making it all build/comps and rotations.
Edit- I will add this because ive had many people say comments about raids being too hard for people like me. Ive complained about a Raid reward track in PvP and ive had people tell me to L2Raid if i want raid rewards. I just will leave that there so there ic clear evidence that i killed the bosses.

Could of done that before when we had premades. People are just crying no matter what happens.

For all 3 bosses we must of wiped at least 3 times. We got sab on the 4th and VG on the 4th but Gors took a few more i believe.

A few things though, earlier in the week i joined a W1 clear group and they asked for 70+ LI obviously as someone who only raids so often i dont have 70. I believe after today i have like 24-25. All from W1 though. The 2nd i joined the commander asked for ping, i shared my LI and i was kicked.
Not a huge issue for me because i know there are good groups like the one I found today where everyone didnt mind putting in 2 hours to get a wing done.
I personally enjoy raids a little bit since its alot different from PvP and WvW.
Though i have to say this is a horrible set up for players trying to get into raids. Im sorry, i see the comments about build diversity and what not but everyone was thinking the same thing. The pugs int he discord didnt want the vanilla ranger, they all wanted him to be druid or ele.
I cant believe the state of balance int he game. For me HOT specs are so toxic, they have not been good for WvW or PvP. Now in raids the very thing Anet is selling on end game content. There are very clear classes to play.
8 class spots are already almost determined before the raid even starts. 2mes-2 ps warriors- 2 druids-2eles. It seems like these are must haves which is unfortunate.
you do realize that pre HOT warrior would run sword warhorn with long bow. running cele ammy with shouts as a support character. If you didnt like that you could run a greatsword hammer warrior for meta team fights running stances and rampage. Also small variations like mace-shield with greatsword being the apex of 1 vs 1.
Then there was off builds such as mace-shield with hammer as a condi build. with stomp-bulls charge 1 stance and your choice of elite skill. This was pre HOT.
Since HOT its been 1 rage utility skill both stances and head butt with defense-discipline- beserker. It doesnt matter if your condi or dps. You will pick these traits and skills to play at the highest level.

Also many of the changes to PvP doesnt actually change the meta just the effectiveness of what it use to be. Upgrading the damage on scepter doesnt change the fact that its the best support in team play. Making guardian shouts shorter CD doesnt change the fact that boons are being handed out like candy in the back of a creepy mans van.
Your comment was very general and didnt actually say anything for the state of PvP and didnt address Anets ability to make things like throw bola useful in any way.

Yea its really awful how little thought is given to rifle on engineer. It stayed viable and alive before HoT because of its cc’s and kite potential, both of which are rendered obsolete against the new specs.
As an engi main who has played for years, I always stay optimistic about rifle buffs, but after a while this just gets kind of sad to be honest. Especially when you get nerfs meant to affect scrapper that hurt rifle engineer even more.

Im not a fan of this but balance has been thrown out the door.
Before necros were the best 1 vs 1 classes in the game and there weakness was they were slow.
Bunker/support guardians were the best in the game. Team fights were impossible against them and there weakness was they were slow.
Dps warrior was it need help to sustain in 1 vs 1 and team fights especially against eles and necros.
This rune shows they dont know what to do but to make everything OP.
