Why is it the new rage skills have a much shorter CD and do more damage then when you are traited for physical skills? Ive been playing around with bulls charge and stomp and these 2 skills do next to know damage when im using zerker amulet, rune of strength and have full adrenaline. Freaking rampage has a 144cd and it pulses 2 stability and last for 15 sec. Ive never been blinded so much and dazed for so long on a elite skill. Throw bolas gets me so much now, i use to use them for thieves back in the day. Now thieves just spam dodge and get threw it.

I saw the list, nerfing some of revs DPS instead of making the condi build better. Making core scepter more dps on ele. Trying to reach back with core guardian.

I would like to point out again that Anet you are not creating build diversity but a new meta. Before HOT you could play MM necro for 1 vs 1 for level play, power necro for mid level play and what ever the ESL players were using. Same thing for guardian, warrior, ele.

With S5 about to begin you have yet to address the problems with trait lines,utility and elite skills.

Everyone on this forum page complains about how weak necro and showing this is gonna show that the majority of the players are average at best.

Also some of the posts on this forum talk about how the ESL players are not as good but they are simply on teams with coordinated builds and talk in ts.

So we can now say classes are fine as long as someone can post a frag video full of mediocre pugs.

Well under that logic all classes are perfectly balanced and all balance complaints are just l2p issues.

So here my 2 cents on it,

Pre HOT there were players who could play necro. There were quite a few players in the AG/ESL tournament in NA who could play it.

It was the Apex on the 1 vs 1. People complained about it lacking.

Same with ranger, yet players from many different ESL teams always played ranger as well as some AG tournaments.

So we had a class that wasnt easy to play but yet could be very good if played right. No hard counters, just simply good game play. Nothing wrong with it.

Right now necro has good team fighting abilities. (the community does not like it) Necro with a good amount of skill and knowledge can clearly win 1 vs 1 with the video above proving so. Yet people are struggling so the question becomes are these people crying because they are bad and dont know it or asked to carry less then players?

I cant say if the class is in a good bad, ok spot. I tend to look at the top-middle-bottom. Everyone says they want a skill based system but dont like it when they cant play what they want to win.

I will just end it with, if Anet doesnt create a real skilled based leader board. We wont know because we cant base it off the many who would stand in traps/ get pulled into traps from ot dodging DH spear of justice. Also we cant base it around the ESL players because very few people can play at that level. I would prefer if Anet balanced around the ESL players because that way its at least a l2p issue. Ive seen alot of players on this forum complain, put up a video of there game play and poof we can see why.

I agree but the difference is before we complained about spirit ranger, hambow warrior, turret engy and D/D ele. Classes that were clearly out performing others for no reason.

Other then those we complained about about burn damage, blinds, rampage and lich form. Everyone could make a point for the other with these issues. I was one of those who didnt think lich and rampage needed nerfed but the average player cried enough to get it nerfed but we wee actually talking about certain skills.

Now everyone has been complaining and with it being a off season the focus isnt there on whats actually broken.

The community got team que removed, if Anet doesnt come out with clear and cut divisions for players. If it is a grind in any way players will complain about match making, class stacking, roles, build diversity and the usual OP classes.

I can not recall people crying with the old solo que and team leader boards since the were mostly MMR based. People could say im a legit top 250 player because and there is no shame in that.

The problem with the last leader boards were it was all grind as well as the league system.

So i believe the complaining hasnt stopped because Anet hasnt given the PvP scene a real system in game. And then balance has been at its worst since HOT. You cant blame people for loving GW2 mechanics and skill options and then Anet ask you to pay $100 to only destroy everything you loved about the game.

Any way we can get a toggle to hide the ranked badge on our nameplate? It seems unnecessary in PvE.

You can hide your badge on a per-character basis from the League UI.

We can already see the start of complaints in the new League.

Personally it all comes down to skill with a certain class when its pugs. Then you get matches like this. ( they only scored because we all went for lord at 200, no one on the team died)

Obviously you cant judge a season until its here but man the train is coming.

So from what i gathered HOT missed the mark badly.

Its been over a year and you see the complaints and they are legit. In PvP you use to get complaints about builds like spirit ranger op or turret engy is broken, Fix hambow warrior etc etc. Same thing for WvW, asking for certain things to a set ups.

Well HOT comes out and people are screaming about how OP the HOT specs and how they are destroying diversity. Mesmer wells in zerg fights, Guardian traps and rifle warrior piercing threw multiple targets 1 hit KO 4-5 people at a time. WvW asked for a new map with a bunch of different ways to fight other such as more choke points and abilites to defend. Anet threw out a new map no one liked. This was just WvW.

Recently Grouch posted that he has moved on. Finally a ESL had posted a complaint about how Anet has destroyed the PvP scene since the release of HOT. Anet made a ESL push in Season 1 and it was embarrassing to say the least. The players didnt like playing it and nobody liked watching it. Anet has taken us to the other side where instant deaths are a norm and the snowball effect is stronger then ever. A serious lack of build diversity and its almost become a joke that Anet has starter build templates.

Which brings us to build diversity in the HOT areas, Verdint Brink to me is a master piece. Solo areas, up and down maps, bosses that you can fight with or without a zerg.

Then you have AB-TD-DS which are all zerg based events. I found these areas fun at times but infuriating when trying to do the meta event and getting a bad map. DS especially since the WPS and mastery points are based around the event. The lack of diversity in these maps is insane. It had great intentions of course but for someone who doesnt wait for GW2 timers it feels a little copy and paste.

So we come to the big one, GW2 raids. The recent patch has created a meta where the mirror comp is what Elite teams suggest and what alot of pugs will run. 5 builds for 3-4 classes. Yes elite groups can break the meta but when raids have 1 real style of play its hard to argue it. Raids is basically dps as much as possible with 1-2 healers. Yes you need a tank but nothing beats mesmer because it gives more damage. Nothing beats ele especially for AOE damage and ranger gives heals and huge bursts of damage for team groups. If this was suppose to be the end game, it would of been nice to not have to play every boss the with same com/build/stats and then simply learn new mechanics.

Which brings me to the future of the game. I still play it for some PvE things i wish to get done as well as playing with friends. From what i can see as threads in WvW, PvP, Raids, is that people are not happy. Of course there are many that are but it feels different now. People are complaining about HOT so much and before HOT people were complaining about certain aspects of the game and how to make it better.

I can say that after $175 + invested in the game i definitely got my moneys worth. Yet im sitting back saying what happened. I love the mechanics of this game. Seriously 10x better then any game ive ever played. Yet with the HOT expansion i feel it ruined WvW and PvP for me. I can understand that maybe raids are not for me as well as most of the new maps but now that we are 1 year + into HOT.

I can say that i will not purchase any expansion put forward simply. The original minds of the game are gone. The direction of the game doesnt seem to be for me or the people i play with. I will not quit the game but i think the time is coming soon to move on for good and i want to say thank you for such a good game in GW2. And so much unfulfilled potential left on the table imo.

I wouldnt be surprised, i worked at Fed Ex Freight on 228th and it moved from West Valley to a warehouse with twice as many doors. So the Fed Ex was like 119 doors big and that Amazon which is only like 3 minutes away from the Fed Ex is literally 2-3 times bigger.

They are literally sending flyers to peoples doors saying can you do anything we will give you a job.

Ok so i pug W1 every week and im wondering how everyone feels about it.

Last 2 weeks 2 different groups did the exact same thing. We kill VG with 2 mesmers, 2 druids, 2 ps, 2 necros and 2 eles.

We get to gors and they ask the necros to do to eles. I say i dont have one and i offer up thief or rev. Both weeks these 2 groups did this. SO this comp ideally to them would look like this 2mesmers, 4 eles, 2 ps, and 2 druids.

I have a guild mate who mains thief and doesnt even try to raid anymore since he like me has to pug it. Im not talking for experienced groups or static groups because you allow your guild members to run different things. The raid guild i am in only static raid because the new members they were letting in were making mistakes and they said “you cant kick guild members from a raid group” so they went back to the static group.

I cant sit here and speak about the raid meta with only 22 insights but this doesnt seem better.

Im really wondering if raids will be thing with the next expansion or in the next expansion the new spec line will be OP like the HOT spec lines and these current raids will become like the dungeons in core Tyria.

Its just something i thought i might bring up since just 2 months ago (before the halloween event) i was in a gors group that had 2 power engys and 1 ele and 1 thief. Though its a short time ( 2 weeks is not a good sample size but it just struck me) i just couldnt believe i ran into 2 pug groups who acted identical when it came to raids.

1. Add a new emote /sitchair

Actually… i remember City of Heroes had a sitchair emote (s), where would put your character on said position. That way you wont have to redo all chairs. Sure, depending the chair you’ll have characters feet clipping through the floor… but I’d prefer that over nothing.

2. More work, but earn money with it. I found the suggestion funny:

Animation where you pull out your own chair.
Make it scale to character size.
Add new chairs to gemstore like mail birds.

I gotta agree, that would be awesome to have. And the RP community would absolutely eat the chairs out of the gem store. Too much work sounds like an excuse rather than a reason. I agree, there are better things to work on, but they can’t really have exhausted all of their resources just yet. Just a small patch note.

Its probably something they just dont want to do.

For instance emotes from GW1 that people have brought up many times.

They have the ability/knowledge to bring them but simply dont want too.

I disagree with how you balance the game except for number 3 which is kind of the problem with HOT.

If i may add that you had to do things as a team to burst someone down or simply be better int he 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2.

Now there is just so much spam, warrior F1 skill with mace is redicolous amounts of condi damage compared to sword and longbow. The ability to reappply so continuously makes it a unskilled build.

When you look at all HOT classes/specs it seems they didnt care about build diversity with in one area. For instance ohhh warrior uses strength-tactics-beserker in raids and defense-discpline-beserker. So that means we have build diversity, which it doesnt.

Its pretty simply how to rebalance the game, get rid of Op traits such as thiefs remove condition on dodge. Or warrior over the top power zerker trait line or the spam daze of traps from DH.

Go back to using certain skills/traits makes your build what it is. If you want to be more support you take a guardian shout giving stability or protection. If you want more damage go with a trap.

Like you said about the warrior meta in the game, warrior at no point could do everything. If you were s/s with longbow you did condi damage, greatsword-hammer you did DPS, shoutbow you were support.

Now everyone in the game has insanes amount of blocks, insane amounts of sustain, insane amounts of boons. Want to make to PvP better? Get rid of the spam but Anet wont because this is a PvE farming game.

Should ESL be a reference for balance?

It should be balanced around ESL BUT ranked pvp should have similar rules like no stacking. IMO the no stacking rule in ESL whereas you can stack in Ranked Q is probably the biggest cause of balance issues and QQ currently.

Balancing around ESL means you are balancing around the expectation that there are premade teams that know each other, how they all work together, use teamspeak, and know they can count on their teammates to do what needs to be done.

This just isn’t true in general PvP however. It just isn’t. Balancing should be done around what the majority of the games will feature, which now will be random soloQs. If you balance around a situation that 99% of games won’t experience, then you are automatically making those 99% of games unbalanced.

Necro is a good example here. It is clearly balanced around ESL level play as its an absolute beast if the team can coordinate enough to keep it alive in a team fight. Yet in every other game there isn’t that level of support and Necro becomes an easy target, making it a much less effective class. Is this good balancing in that the class can be amazing in less than 1% of games but sucks in the other 99% because there isn’t enough coordination to keep it alive? No, that is not good balancing.

Balancing needs to be done around the average level of play

this is how you make necro work in soloq, 2 methods
1. get good
2. tell someone to roll ele, then tell them to stay on top of you the whole game

AKA be in an ESL team….. Its convenient how you ignored the fact that most games are not teamQ, and in Season 5 teamQ will even be removed completely. You can’t force anyone on your team of soloqueues to play a certain build.

Balancing should be done around the average skill level. Which includes being soloQ and not expecting support.

If you are playing support you should know.

Even before HOT there were roles and you played accordingly. Pre HOT you could make any build you wanted but once again it filled a role. Dps warrior was hammer/great sword and support was shouts with bow. Same for guardian bunker/support was shouts and dps was medi or condi consentration.

Leagues were suppose to seperate this kind of stuff you are saying. I solo qued a heavy majority of the time and i played ele alot. I knew my job was to support the necros (except S2) and the DH players.

I recently did a unranked match where Paul from some ESL team was playing ele and i was chasing with my warrior and he literally left the mid point uncapped to heal me as we killed this guy.

Solo que, Duo que, Team que doesnt change this. If you are better in this game you understand better tactics.

Just 2 days ago we had a 3 vs 3 off point around our home node. 1 engy decided to leave the fight and uncap the home node and cap it. It was forest and we ended up outside the area exit not by the node point. I and another player where left in a 2 vs 3.

He said if they are fighting off point just go to the point not realizing that if the person they are targeting gets killed it leaves us at a disadvantage and he was running around like a mad man not to die.

Once we died the 3 killed him almost instantly and all 3 of us are on respawn time now.

This is why you cant balance around average players. They dont understand the meta as well as better players. They dont understand the classes as well as players who either focus 1 class are ESL players who can multi class. No matter what you do they will do everything worse.

Which means the game would have to be dumbed down, skills would need to be simplified to the greatest extent so they could manage to play how ever they wanted.

Just like the NBA, not letting players dunk in the 60’s didnt hurt WIlt but hurt guards who were athletic. Not having a 3 point line gave big men a bigger advantage, not having zones allowed for 1-2 styles of defense vs 4-5.

The idea is to make the game with the most possible ways of playing which means build diversity and team diversity.

Anet is already dumbing down the game for casuals with the rock/paper/scissors system. Its not making the game better.

There is no reason too. There is no leader boards, ranked seasons needed to separate people so only a few people got unique gear/titles/anything. This is the most casual PvP scene ive ever been in and the other games i played didnt even have ESL or PvP leagues. The players in those games cared more about there gear, build set up, style of play and it was just for them being able to say they are good. Anet has made everything to casual for anyone to care.

This game needs to create a reason for people to actually PvP.

IMO we should.

S1 we saw the 2 rev 2 mes trick and Anet/ESL decided 1 class per team because balance is broken. We then saw the same engy-mesmer-necro-rev-ranger on every successful team in S3 and S4.

In the current stat i was partied with some people and 1 is in legendary rank S4 and the other 2 were in diamond. We were doing guild missions and our menders ele left a team fight to chase the low health player off point. (WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY)

When you see the ESL players you can at least say ohh this is how a class can be successful.

Heres a problem though, Anet will not balance the game around PvP period. Anet will not fix Match Making. Anet will not put out real leader boards and heres the kicker we are getting rid of team ques!

For Anet to do this the past 2 seasons of PvP population must of been so low they said yeah lets only do solo que.

So imo yes it should be balanced from the top down because if you see 2-3-4 builds used like in WTS qualifiers for NA and EU. Someone thing is going right.

When everyone is literally run the same builds in ranked for all levels there is a problem.

Anet new saying should be " if you try build diversity and say there is no diversity, it probably means there is diversity" (not my best MO cheat phrase)

Wait… since I haven’t done this ordeal in a year and you want to tell me that they haven’t fixed any of those bugs? Are you kidding me?

It was much buggier at launch. I know the bugs with the platforms that spawned in air at least was fixed and a couple of others as well. There’s a chance also some of these bugs are newer bugs.

The fact is, for each person complaining about a bugged instance, there are people running this over and over who don’t have these problems.

I’ve probably done that instance 20 times. I can’t remember the last time I experienced a bug in it.

My guild members just ran it and decided to run migraine. The 4 of them (they picked up a pug for migraine) all had something negative to say about the instance. For 2 of them it was updrafts and something about attacking the bosses.

I was gonna run threw there with them on a healer we could the AP but its a sad thing when people who havent finished the story and once again get to the high point of the story and its completely screwed up. They said there 3rd instance was perfectly fine so i guess in a world where you did it 20 times and got 0 bugs. And one where my guild members go in and get bugged out games 2 out of 3 times.

Im personally ok but any time the very last fight of the story is lame and broken a good thing for a game? Anet is 2/2 right now with Arah and Mordremoth

I have to say these posts are funny.

1- group is saying why make a chair i cant interact with. Which is a good point.

2- The other group understanding why they cant which is also fine. But we as the players should not be worried with Anet pay roll. I personally have given Anet around $200+ for GW1, Gw2 and HOT and i would like to be able to do things with stuff they added to the game.

I would just like to say that im at 386 scribing and 1 guild member at 400 with another 2 around the 250. We have been frustrated with the lack of things we can do with the things we make as well.

Obviously the immense lion statues, giant king toad as well as many other items are simply just really cool.

Yet so many of the items just feel like junk. Candles/lamps/braisers that dont light up a area. We cant blow them out. Fire pits with no fires and or camp fires we cant start or put out.

So obviously scribing is cool and the idea is great. Its just another frustrating thing since HOT basically for a year was 4 new maps, 3 wing raids and scribing. That is all a $100 expansion got me.

I have personally spent around 900 gold with all the mats i farmed to scribe. Then to add that I and 5 other guild member got our guild to level 59. Ive probably dumped over 5k gold worth of mats and another 2k buying others to upgrade it.

I know Anet felt like they threw out alot of work and content at us and i agree that the maps a greatly designed. Its just not for everyone and personally for me AB-TD-DS all missed since they are all the same as silver wastes now and i wasnt a huge fan of that.

Add in broken PvP leagues, a WvW map no one likes to play on. With guild halls and scribing which dont feel completed. And you have HOT in a nutshell. Alot of cool stuff that feels a bit rushed imo.

Yes i understand that but by doing that you kill thieves and condi mesmers. Thief already struggled in the Pro scene for 4 seasons. Mesmer was the 1 vs 1 with druid rotating to DH in DH 1 vs 1 situations.

When we had 8 vs 8 it was complete chaos and it was fun. Yet like i said before, if you get ranked ques for it and say lets have a league for 8 man ques, 3 man que, 10 man ques, 2 man ques. Certain set ups will always be stronger because the lack of build diversity.

Now everyone now uses a power amulet, everyone can do burst damage. Only menders and sage are not which is why ele stays in the 5 vs 5 meta but if you remove that amulet it dies.

Increase team sizes another class dies, make it 2 vs 2 and 3 vs 3 based and something else. The PvP community will find what is broken and exploit it.

Anet made the 1 class rule for ESL because for a solid year teams were jokingly identical. 5 d/d eles, 2 mesmer-2 revs- 1 ele or engy.

Its why ranked is so bad atm, Anet cant balance the game at the Pro level so they forced players to play 1 class. So they come out with leagues where class stacking is allowed. We had S1 where no one died and now we just had S4 where if you run out alone and 2 people see you you die almost immediately.

Im just trying to point out clear as day that Anet has not balanced PvP. HOT specs were not made for PvP. GW2 does nothing for the PvP player to want to stay in PvP and changing it in anyway will not make it better when you can go into guild halls and 1 vs 1 and go into WvW and have zerg battles.

PvP was suppose to be a area of skill, with Anet making classes rock-paper-scissors. The identity of the game is changing which has destroyed WvW and PvP as areas of GW2 to be taken seriously.

I have to disagree.

5 vs 5 on 3 node points is a great idea. It creates situations where you can play offensively or defensively and allows different types of team tactics.

The issue has and always be build diversity and style of play.

Since the D/D ele meta its was run to all 3 nodes with your all around build.

HOT season 1 came out and it was run to all 3 nodes and bunker them.

To now S4 where zerging is being seen in competitive play from the last ESL and Tol tournaments.

Obviously Anet inability to create another game mode people want to play has its effect. I personally liked the death match map and others have stated they have liked stronghold but both have major weaknesses.

Those weaknesses become even more obvious from the previous point that Anet has not create a balanced PvP game.

I look at GW2 PvP like Pro Basket Ball since you have different ways of playing. In the NBA you have teams that play big, that focus on rebounding/defense and time of possession. You have smaller teams who run up and down shooting 3’s and playing small. Both can be effective in the NBA.

In GW2 for the last 2-3 years, 1 style has been the clear better style. There is literally only been 1 way to play this game at a elite level for so long. 5 eles/ 2mesmers-2revs-1 ele/ mesmer-engy-rev-ranger-ele.

No matter what is put in front of us. Whether its 1 vs 1 – 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3 it will be broken. A new map, a new game mode, it doesnt matter. Someone/group will find its weakness in that setting and it will be the meta because this game has no build diversity.

If you read this line and only this line, this will be all you need to know.

THE SOURCE OF THIS GAMES PROBLEMS BUILD DIVERSITY.

When is the next World Championship?

Probably never. I think they probably have finally realised that not all publicity is good publicity. All their tournaments do is show the game in a bad light. I would guess a ton of people have not bought the game as a result of these tournaments.

In addition, spending $200k (or whatever it is) on tournaments that get 3000 viewers (mostly hardcore players already into the game) is a terrible investment. People also get annoyed at this investment whilst there is a lack of PvE content and so they quit the game. They have smarter people at anet than allowing that to continue.

Its surprising to me how well games like Dota and LOL do so well.

Core GW2 has some great moments. The WTS with ORNG winning vs the Abjured, then Abjured winning vs ORNG in the next one were 2 great Tournaments to watch. ( Though that D/D ele meta was terrible)

Ive been playing LOL and i still dont understand why its so huge especially when GW2 mechanics are of the charts.

Then you talk about Anet Leader Boards, match making, build diversity, changing metas, ranked ques, que times, rewards.

I wouldnt be surprised if they took a break but im shocked by both. How Anet made HOT specs so badly and how core GW2 didnt get any momentum going.

It is a game and i simply want it to make sense and rewarding.

When alot of people put so much into a story and taking people threw a story you want to feel apart of it.

Like you said " Dragons have probably scrubbed the earth clean countless times before the Mursaat and thus I completely disagree with the notion that we are magically or technologically superior to the races that were wiped out before us. Logic would be they had the exact same ideas that we had and the only thing different this time around is Glints and aurene and maybe even Gleams involvement. Anything else being the solution just sounds like Anet trying to burn through this dragon story as fast as they could."

I mean for me the story is falling apart badly, the fights with these bosses are falling apart badly.

I just wanted 2 things,

1- For the story to be engaging and for it to make sense

2- For the beasts to be the actual beasts that we spend hours working towards. It it so frustrating to have raids-fractals be so much better and to not have as many bugs as dungeon/instance with a elder dragon and it completely sucks.

Im just voicing out my complaints and seeing if people agree or disagree. I feel we are all of the same understanding but take this game for what it is at different levels.

Anyways, I personally am disappointed with HoT thief-wise. I really hoped they will do something interesting with the class. I loved to play pistols in spvp (steamrolling with 2x quadruple pistols with my wife, funny times) and honestly hoped for a rifle and sniper like builds in HoT, kind of squishy backliner with high dps, but instead of that thief receives staff and they make snipers of warriors.

Now I play gs/rifle warrior as current thief meta is pretty boring, nevertheless I am still hoping one day I’ll get back to my thief. Of course this is just my opinion, I am sure many people enjoy that playstyle as you can still see quite many thieves running around, then it still is not as many as others professions.

The in your own comment you talk about not knowing PvE. Which i have many friends who mained thief in PvE, now in raids and other meta events. We named off spots in WvW and before HOT thief was mandatory for high level play.

When you start off a argument with “Doesn’t change the fact profession is poorly designed” then rattle on. its hard to understand what point you are trying to make especially since only thieves and rangers are using invisibility in PvP now.

With the nerf to gyros you are seeing less and less of engys and PU mesmer died when HOT came out.

So thief is in a good spot meta wise across the game. Its just spammy to play and watch.

I can agree with you development wise about why Anet id things the way they did but as a fan and as someone who wants to get into the story. It just feels cheap.

Back to my anology, Brian Scalabrine who was the 12th man on many NBA teams held a 1 vs 1 challenge. He offered $50,000 to anyone who could beat him. No one scored more then 3.

Robert Horry in a recent interview was talking about Hakeem since Horry says Hakeem is the greatest player of all time.

He talked about how Hakeem was Muslim and how for Ramadan he wouldnt eat or drink before a game and during the game. And he would still drop 40 points and grab 15 rebounds on people.

And thats the point i feel tekey and I are trying to get across. The best of the best are ready and are conditioned for any obstacle. This Elder Dragon has been around for thousands of years and have faced countless enemys.

He attacked LA in 1325 and Mordremoth really made his presence felt in 1327.

This is one of the most powerful beings ever and it has years and years of battle knowledge and preparation. Im willing to say we killed him for Anet story purposes and because it was well thought out and the core story is actually pretty good.

But that fight does nothing for defeating a monster whos been awake for over 100 years who no one threatening it.

The reason i bring up NBA players is because they are the best at what they do even though they are judged and mocked at times. It is the ultimate game of individual skill-ability-knowledge and understanding the game.

Zhaitan has conquered civilizations, it is the Drexler or jordan. He has been put threw the test and taking all challengers. Anet is still feeding us lines about how powerful he was. I mean we starved him for what 2 months? 1 month and he just sat there waiting for us to come kill it? Jordan with the Flu/food poisoning (which ever) dropped 38 points against Utah in the NBA finals. Zhaitan/ Mordremoth is a champion and elite specimen who should be the greatest challenges we have ever faced.

Yet we are the High School player who says we beat him with a couple of friends on a sunday after noon. We even talk about how much better DE 2.0 is better since Modremoth is so much stronger which once again misses me.

We have killed 2 dragons, nothing we have done has back fired, We are not meeting resistance, and from the looks of it we are about to easily kill 2 more.

The story falls flat and for me the greatest story moment i had was killing scarlett. Having seen her destroy LA and doing the LA map meta to get into a instance to fight her. TO down her and finisher her is still the coolest moment.

Im just tired of this story line telling me left and right how powerful these dragons are when really its been incredibly easy with nothing really saying otherwise. The only comment we had was Trahearne saying we lost alot of men when talking to the Pale Tree when gathering the Leaders.

If Anet wants to end the dragons quickly then just do it because for me they clearly are not trying to feed us any GOOD story lines or lore.

As you said it’s been ridiculous how we defeated Zhaitan. An Elder Dragon! Shooting him with a magical laser cannon by pressing F while other ancient, powerful races tried to fight him hundreds of years ago and failed.

Here’s what the Mursaat tablets in Ember Bay said:

We Mursaat and the Forgotten forged armies of powerful constructs to destroy the dragons.

We assaulted Zhaitan with our army of jade constructs and enchanted armors. We failed, and many Mursaat and Forgotten died.

I can’t believe that we defeated him as if it was nothing.

The best thing that could have happened to GW2’s story is that we accepted we couldn’t defeat them, that they’re too powerful, that they’re an irreplaceable part of Tyria and all that we can do is put them to sleep again. There are enemies you simply can’t defeat, no matter how smart your asuran technology is.

Well tbf the Mursaat tablets seem to imply that they went head on with Zhaitan, whereas the Pact took a much more thought out approach of cutting off his armies, starving the dragon itself and then blinding it (taking out the mouth and eyes) before fighting Zhaitan. Overall its much easier to fight anything if you starve and partially blind it first, especially if you can take away its source of renewing its armies.

I can agree with that to a extent.

But my counter argument is people tried to stop Hakeem Olajuwon 93-95 and to be blunt no one was better. Teams had strategys to stop him but couldnt. This about that, this isnt like other dominate teams. There is literally only 1 guy on the team because he creates everything for everyone else and people still could not stop him.

Zhaitan is Hakeem Olajuwon but instead of playing with with average players. He gets great champions like Lupi and Korga which we dont even face and he knows its coming.

I understand that we planned ahead of time, but the story/game play they gave us to say hey we did it fell flat.

Like if we trained as hard as we could and got in the best shapes in our lives, do you think we could beat MJ or Drexler in a 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2? Right now, not even in there primes because thats us getting ready for a legendary match.

For me after defeating Zhaitan and Mordremoth wouldnt everyone just be completely tired. Nothing really left to give especially with the countless deaths across all of tryia and the dragons becoming stronger.

I mean a really good story line would us just surviving. Like new things popping up and left about dragon destruction and how we have to help defend a small city or town. Then these small wins would could lead to something bigger.

Like have Elder Dragons never fought? Glint fought Kralkatorrik with DE and 2 people died. We now protect a baby and for what? We killed 2 dragons and we really didnt do much and everything seems fine.

I agree with you 100% and im simply getting ready to be utterly disappointed because DE has such a rich potential story foundation that we could of explored. Anet had a chance to make Elder Dragon fights epic but they would prefer to save it for raids and fractals. And it seems like they are rushing threw content so we can kill dragons asap and move on to more GW1 origin storys.

Not to mention Dr. Gor worked on a very specific anti dragon magic energy ray the he tested on minions of Zhaitan. People who don’t do that asuran story don’t get the full picture of how the ships killed him.

However, I’m highly entertained that there are people in this thread that would have been find having a boss fight and killing Zhaitan with their tiny swords, where as a giant airship with five giant anti-dragon magic guns are apparently not enough to do it.

After we weaked the dragon by starving it of it’s food, took away part of it’s ability to make more undead, and partially blinded it. Zhaitan was hurt by a fleet of ships before we finished killing it.

Thats all fine and great but what was this dragons counter? Which brings up my point about everything we do.

When DE first gets together you see Logan and Rytlock arguing and they both have strong points for what they did and what happened.

We did things to stop Zhaitan, what did he do to counter?

Are you seriously telling me that Zhaitan a Elder Dragon who defeated many races before us. (whom we are studying tech wise, which means we are learning things we didnt know and things they did know to defeat these dragons) Even in the Arah dungeon paths they talk about the mursaat, Jotun, the seers and the forgotten and things we can learn from there experiences fighting Zhaitan against future dragons.

I mean its supposedly said that Zhaitan was last awake 10,000 years ago. Are you seriously telling me that we are the only ones who thought up of these planned attacks?

Story wise its very convenient how easy the ride has been especially since Lupi and Korga the mighty sit in his dungeon. Pre ascended gear and 30-30-30 i can not tell you how hard it was for many people to kill Lupi which is why people sold the Arah dungeon paths.

Take out the story and here we sit with cannons shooting at Zhaitan as he does what? You say hes too hurt, tired and hungry to fight back but whats that old saying about being pushed back into a wall?

We just got a new fractal, why is this fractal 5,000 X better then our fights with ELDER DRAGONS?????

Doesn’t change the fact profession is poorly designed and instead of fixing it everyone has been given stealth, which makes the thief completely useless in any other scenario than 1v1.

From my point of view thief was always a noobstomping class and had been constantly developed towards meeting that objective. It is useless in wvwvw (inb4. but flipping!), in spvp only good on skirmishes and no idea how about pve, but I don’t think they bring a lot of utility to the team.

I would say it’s class for lone wolves, solo players, people who don’t want to stick with group and prefer to follow their own path. On the other hand, in wvwvw for example even at roaming solo it is not the best option you got. Great for scouting though, but who wants to play the game to run around the map and reporting what’s going on?

But what to do to fix the class? There are some great suggestions in the other topic on this forum, no idea if anet reads it though.

Edit. Oh yeah, and thieves are “completely unpredictable class” xD

In WvW i have a guild mate who always plays thief. The rest of us play something tanky so he can jump in and out of our roaming fights. We usually run 3-8 people not following the zerg in CD. We have been able to sneak towers and actually took the commander own zerg away from him since we were doing better. Thief has its spots in WvW.

Also thief was a main stay in EU and NA pre HOT. With players like toker, caed and sindrener. These dudes were winning 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 which is why a thief has always been present pre HOT.

I dont know how you can blame a design when Anet took a good thing like core GW2 and made it spam and faster spam.

See my issue and alot people ussie with core GW2 was that end fight with Zhaitan. The dungeons were difficult especially in explorable ones until we people figured them out. Then the final boss fight we are hitting “F” on a cannon to finish a Elder Dragon. I mean some of the coolest scenes in the game are in those Arah dungeons like when your heading towards Zhaitan and you see all the other ships and all the dragons out there. We were sitting there like this is gonna be epic.

The Mordremoth fight was alot better but the story was awful and felt really rushed.

So here we are getting to 2 elder dragons and i dont like a few things.

1) I dont like that Tami has a idea and I assume her idea will just work. Like we spent alot of time studying from ancient beings who could not kill the dragons. We can add in the quick ending to so many things from the HOT story line as well as the unfinished storys from DE.

2) I do like Brahams rebel attitude because everyone in the HOT story has been super nice or had a really bad comment line which either struck me the wrong way to make me not like them. What i dont like is the commander sitting there eating it. I dont even consider myself the commander. I look at it like a movie or comic book because when im on my asura i act like i have no clue what Tami says. When im on a norn i eat what Jory and Braham say and dont remind them that im a great warrior. And the only reason they are around talking high and mighty is because i defeated 2 dragons. Then my sylvari ………. just jeez on this one.

Unless someone else has a different view point, i hjust feel im gonna hit a huge disappointment wall when they decide ohh lets just end it. When i first played GW2 and you see DE gathered for the first time. There is serious stuff to think about and why they are fighting. Logan ran back to help the Queen who had Caudacus there trying to kill her and he obviously knew. As well as him and Rytlock going at it because of human and charr history. Snaffs death and Kudu turning on Zojja. Eir back story must be huge.

I mean core Gw1 Living story we got to see Caithe and the Sylvari and some of there back story which. Like i already loved Sylvari as plant people but to see the struggle as Inquest farmed and killed them as experiments. The pale tree finding a way to give purpose and seeing the dark side of caithe.

I mean Anet had laid out a great foundation for a amazing story yet i feel that it is coming where Tami finds some really weak explanation of a weakness and we pit 2 dragons against each other and no one gets hurt.

Im sorry but i thought maybe we be feeling the burn of all these fights. Disgruntled army mesmers, frustrated orders especially after trahearnes death. Like Durmand Priory saying we didnt need to kill Trahearn, starvation etc etc etc.

I mean they threw down a patch where the White Mantle put up those Anti- Queen posters and i actually agreed with some of them.

I rambled off a bit but there is so much great potential back story and it sucks not knowing the story behind the main storys. As well as the current story feeling rushed as Anet heads into the next expansion where they might not want to do dragons anymore.

Defense line in a PVE build?

Unless you raid you can do what ever you want. I personally hate the warriors who cant survive in fractals thinking they have to run the meta raid build and that goes for eles as well.

I run defense/discipline/zerker in PvE and i simply run the shout (for might) power flag banner and endure the pain.

No one complains and i can self sustain around 10+ might and if anyone adds any might im at 20+.

Seriously unless its raids you can do what ever you want.

I can agree with that.

For debating purposes i would like to argue the premade point. Many players have played solo/duo que from the ESL in the leagues. Of course there were times ESL teams were in ranked but other then the ESL teams who has a legit complaint?

For instance there was a thread from a necro complaining about his team mates. Everyone noticed Caed a thief was on the other team. He is a ESL level thief and he crushed the necro he faced in a 1 vs 1 at far in seconds and no one blamed him for that.

Ive seen these complaint threads over the seasons and the people writing the posts dont even know the people they are facing. Another thread was complaining about MM when the other team had tarcis and i believe marvin.

For me Leader Boards would of fixed this so fast, everyone truly believes they are at a legit level of PvP. Bringing down peoples egos a tiny bit would be nice.

Another thread topic right now in the 1st page has a person complaining about his team wiping at mid. He said he has 700 games played and shouldnt have to play with noobs when some of us have thousands of games played.

Whether or not im right or wrong on premades Anet wouldnt have had to make such a huge change in ranked had they done the necessary things to make leagues legit.

So no matter how we want to put it, Anet screwed up PvP Leagues.

PVP Team population

community killed premade not anet. Whether pvp has premade or not isnt what is going to determine how popular pvp is. Yea there might be some people who just play pvp when they get 4 or 5 of their friends together for a few games. I think most people just generally have a problem with the system.

Population is always at its highest whenever there is a major system change. April feature pack, I think anet reported like a 50% population increase during that time.

After a while things died down then they released HoT specs which affected pvp then league system. People played that for awhile for the wings, didnt like it too much for more or less the same reasons, left and now we are getting a new system.

Population will go up again until we find something else fundamentally wrong with the new system.

They would have solved a lot of their problems by showing us everyone’s MMR during a match. I want to see how high or low my MMR is compared with my teammates and opponents. I want to see it go up or down after a game. I also want to see a system based more on individual performance.

When people can easily see each of their actions have good and bad consequences and are rewarded and punished accordingly in real time they will become more competitive, especially if there is a solid reward system.

I have to disagree.

Pre Hot and the d/d ele craze. You can go back to storms AG line up and see full teams.

10 full premades with 2 FA teams. The d/d took some heat off of this when every team was literally 4 eles with maybe a thief.

I for one and neither did my guild mates play for the mini llama but for the enjoyment of a actual tournament we could play together on the week end being we could not make the AG games.

Hot came out and build diversity was destroyed. I saw many of the people i PvP with leave though the list of them has gotten smaller and smaller.

The first wave was the patch that made PvP casual for PvP. The removal of 8 vs 8 and forcing people to play ranked added to this.

Next the OP of d/d ele, its still unreal to me how long they let that run. Burst burn guardian everyone understood but the d/d ele was unreal.

Then we get to HOT where season after season it was horrible. Season 1 the bunker meta and the terrible WvW map. This was clearly a expansion for PvE. Rifle builds were nerfed on warrior because of gunflame being spam in WvW. Killing rows of people and smashing the F1 button over and over. Mesmer wells also a huge problem for WvW.

Then you add the spam they added with thief either on 3 d/d or 5 staff with the DH of traps and unblockable pulls and knock backs.

This is not the GW2 community at all, of course people will grow tired and look for something new but they will stay if certain things are met.

Such as a good meta-good reward system-skill based leagues ( so everyone knows where they are)(or leader boards) and multiple ways to play such as a solo que AND team que.

Anet brought nothing to the table for the community, they brought ESL but it struggled season 1 which was evident when a team quit after a miscommunication on the open.

All of this can not be blamed on the community but on Anet.

I just had these matches and check this.

So the next 2-3 matches tarcis is on the other team. Im goofing off on conjure ele build. First match he wins but i seem to play him 2 more times and im catching him literally win every 1 vs 1 so i was trying to stay in the team fight while watching when my team mate would eventually go down.

Simply put match making is all over the place. I had to laugh at one point because in my last match he wrote in say chat, “WTB team mates”. After he downed someone, i came and rezzed and killed him.

If Anet is insisting on this new burst meta they HAVE TO FIX SOME THINGS. Class stacking especially since most people come in to do dailies. Then match making, i think we have all been on both sides of it where you won a came you shouldnt have and lost a came you couldnt believe.

The skill gap in this game is so wide since there are so many factors and when you say everyone has to be glass some will be better at it then others. 1 persons skill will not be able to dictate a match like it use too since people die in literally seconds.

The top screen shot is the same pic people were posting since the League System didnt work. Hope they fix it.

Happens when you create a game mode for 5% of the player base and introduce changes like the matchmaking from season 2 to now to make the 0.5% of your 5% player base happy.

What was wrong with MM season 2?

They put you with people of the same MMR level as you. So obviously a big percent of people got farmed in the beginning. I started the season at like kitten and obviously this was unfair for people when starting out.

But everyone got to where they were suppose to be quicker and when i got to legendary i saw all the same people i use to see when queing.

S4 i was done with the 50% force and watching the 1 player run far and lose 1 vs 1 and see everyone who went mid insta die while im capping home.

Obviously the balance in some where in the middle but i wouldnt blame S2 MM.

Because 50% of the people always lose – no matter what – therefore some of those 50% are salty because it isn’t their fault that they lose and therefore just want to restart a new game with new team, because then they hope they won’t be the 50% loosing (and in case they are, just quit until they win)

We all know that no matter what Anet puts out people will cry.

What Anet should of done S1 of leagues, could help other peoples case that they cry to much.

1) Skill based Leagues
Instead they throw a Back Piece where everyone wants a equal chance for it.

2) Skill based Leader Board
Boom!

This is all Anet needed to do and all these people crying for a surrender button we could just say L2P but that goes against all Anets view on casual play.

The best crit on a Backstab I have seen running Zerkers with Assassins Signet popped was 10k plus 1.2 from from Lightning Strike against another Thief, this skill cannot one shot any class not running a Zerker assassin with the lowest HP. So for people saying it can one shot you in Pvp sho proof of Screenshots with your HP /ammy and the combat log.

This screen shot is before the nerfs to the other classes.

I dont know how they will perform in team setting but in solo que its pretty annoying.

Its simply steal 5 on staff. Or steal back stab 2 on dagger.

I didnt take pictures recently but i understand that any small changes ANet makes throws balance out the door from the previous meta because of how bad HOT classes are.

where is one shot in this?

I was in a 1 vs 1 with another class which is why you see the burning. It was at a constant 1-2 burns so nothing to big. My health was around 15k the whole fight in a 1 vs 1.

Theif comes over steal/dazes me and hits the 5 staff skill and im down.

When you talk about 1 shot kills i really think about the time. Like in this situation i was in a 1 vs 1 and we are going at with no real winning coming any time soon. A thief comes over and ends it in 2 sec.

It can be frustrating to alot of people who might not be able to find a role they like in the game. ( The OP seems to run into this issue)

Finding a role can be hard and when you might want to stand off point a little and run some sort of stun/daze mesmer with marauder amulet. Your gonna die in 1 sec from passive condi being thrown around in the fight. Then boom a thief instantly downs you in 1 sec.

If you are reading my comments i have no real complaints. This is simply the meta.

Do i think this is more skilled base combat then before HOT? NO, simply put we had multiple builds you could play with.

You guys are arguing that a thief can not 1 shot you which is not true especially in the hypothetical situation i gave earlier.

Thief has been given a better role to play since the nerfs to other classes and this is its role. But disagreeing with the OP (which from his previous threads struggles against this class) is not you/others being correct taking the opposite side.

I and some guild mates tested this out and staff thef does a insane amount of damage. The idea you can be in a fight in good condition and a staff 5 can do 10k damage followed by a dodge that can do 4k then a another 10k.

You say im not making a good point, im agreeing with the OP that guess what you can get insta downed by thieves/revs in +1 situations and that necros do unreal amounts of damage in team fights.

Thats the new meta and i dont like it and you and others pretending that it doesnt happen is yours to keep.

There’s already plenty of counterplay to them. If you can actually get off a 3 second cast, you deserve to have your teammate res. There is so much cc, it’s near impossible as it is.

I agree with this.

There is a ele glyph, a necro signet and a warrior ELITE banner which are not in use.

They have extremely long CD and never work anymore.

The argument of working as intended to me doesnt apply here. Core GW2 was like a really nice smooth ride going between 60-80 miles per hour on a beautiful day driving by the ocean.

HOT is like driving a small boat threw the swamp at 60 mph and if you fall in the water a gator is gonna get ya.

Cant say working as intended when those rules applied to PRE HOT builds and down states.

The best crit on a Backstab I have seen running Zerkers with Assassins Signet popped was 10k plus 1.2 from from Lightning Strike against another Thief, this skill cannot one shot any class not running a Zerker assassin with the lowest HP. So for people saying it can one shot you in Pvp sho proof of Screenshots with your HP /ammy and the combat log.

This screen shot is before the nerfs to the other classes.

I dont know how they will perform in team setting but in solo que its pretty annoying.

Its simply steal 5 on staff. Or steal back stab 2 on dagger.

I didnt take pictures recently but i understand that any small changes ANet makes throws balance out the door from the previous meta because of how bad HOT classes are.

where is one shot in this?

I was in a 1 vs 1 with another class which is why you see the burning. It was at a constant 1-2 burns so nothing to big. My health was around 15k the whole fight in a 1 vs 1.

Theif comes over steal/dazes me and hits the 5 staff skill and im down.

When you talk about 1 shot kills i really think about the time. Like in this situation i was in a 1 vs 1 and we are going at with no real winning coming any time soon. A thief comes over and ends it in 2 sec.

It can be frustrating to alot of people who might not be able to find a role they like in the game. ( The OP seems to run into this issue)

Finding a role can be hard and when you might want to stand off point a little and run some sort of stun/daze mesmer with marauder amulet. Your gonna die in 1 sec from passive condi being thrown around in the fight. Then boom a thief instantly downs you in 1 sec.

Obviously there is no true 1 shot kill from full health in this game but we have been doing this for the past 2-3 seasons.

I could play thief for 1 hour, collect videos of me waiting for people to run off point and i insta kill them.

I showed a screen shot of a quick 12k hit. Revs can do this as well, i took 10k damage yesterday as i went for a stomp and my guardian took a surge of the mists.

Is this 1 shot true? Yes its kind of true. We have thieves running around doing between 6-12 damage for hitting 2 buttons. Same goes for revs. Power necros are doing the same thing in team fights.

This is simply the new meta, S1 the bunker meta and Anet does what they do. They balanced the complete opposite way.

In the last TOL you saw multiple teams run the 0-5-0 split and even the teams posted saying stuff like you can get ganked and insta killed if you get caught alone.

So to those questioning the thread, maybe quit trolling so much or simply counter point that this is the meta.

You want raid rewards without doing raids? If you want those trophys then put in the work to kill the raid bosses, they shouldn’t just be handed to you because you don’t like to PvE

You heard it here first: fighting a scripted enemy that always behaves in the same way is harder than fighting an actual player opponent.
Also, filling a reward track is the same as getting something handed to you and requires no effort whatsoever.

Please give 1 real reason WvW and PvP shouldnt get these reward tracks when Anet does everything possible to make WvW and PvP easier for the casual PvE players.

1 reason – those are raid rewards.

Because that worked fine for dungeon rewards too. And HoT area rewards. And core PvE zone drops. In fact, no reward track contains PvE rewards at all.

You can farm reward tracks in PvP in a trivial manner, you always advance on them, even if you don’t get a single kill in the entire game. Not to mention that by far most players suck kitten in PvP. When 3 or 4 people on the same team run towards home at the same time and cap it together I don’t know how you can say that killing them takes more skill than clearing a raid. At least you have to play well in raids to even have a chance at the rewards, which you don’t have to do in PvP. Its easy to farm the reward tracks in raids.

Answer me this though. If top tier PvE rewards (raid rewards) should be available through PvP reward tracks, then why shouldn’t top tier PvP rewards also be available through easily farmable PvE content? Stuff like the Ascension, glorious armor, llama minis etc… Not every reward needs to be in every game mode, and raid rewards need to stay where they are. People put in a lot of effort to learn those fights and clear them every week in order to get those rewards, they deserve to keep those rewards exclusive to players who put in a similar level of commitment towards teh content

Ill try and answer it.

I won 3-4 mini llamas from 2 past TOL tournaments and AG games.

If you were to get out of amber in a PvP season you could get a mini llama. You didnt have to be good, to didnt have to practice with a team, or get in coms to come up with a strategy or team comp. Simply come into PvP and get to Emerald ranking.

Which brings me to Match Making and ranks. Many players such as myself have taken screen shots. Some have posted videos of really bad players making it to diamond/legendary. Ive ran into players who didnt know about revs enchanting daggers when a warrior pops endure the pain or simply didnt know the class very well and said stuff like DH hard counter revs which is not true.

These players got to make the legendary PvP back piece. They did not earn it with skill but with time. It has been the complaint of many PvP players that these players shouldnt get the rewards since they are undeserving. You are saying the same about raid rewards. You talk about time and effort spent, yet you could say the same thing for top end players. They have not been given there just due in this game as it has been catered for the PvE player.

Which brings me to everything ive said. PvE players very easily could of gotten all the PvP rewards in the season by simply playing the ranked season.

I have pointed out that i have done raids and completed the wings. I have UNLOCKED the necessary requirements to have a raid reward track. You have said earlier that there PvE tracks you had to unlock by doing PvE.

If there was any need to cry for how bad things have gotten. WvW wins with PvP coming in a close 2nd. Literally everything Anet has done to PvP is cater to the casual PvE player who wanted AP or finishers they would not have gotten since it would of taken 5k+ games to get.

PvP is simply asking for the same thing PvE players are. If i do the raids to unlock a track why cant i have it when you have given everything PvP players have to PvE players?

Anyways ill just list amulets that i personally never used assassins- barbarian- cavalier- diviners- knights- magi- seekers- sinisters- Valkyrie.

These are 9 out of 21 amulets that ive have never used on a build and thought they were good. Then you bring in the fact that so many are so similar like beserker,marauder, demolisher and destoryers amulet. So with the addition of these 4 amulet which are so similar you have 9 amulets not in use and 4 if i picked blindly it wouldnt make a huge difference in my match.

Magi and sinisters are the only amulets you listed that truly never see play, simply because they are underpowered versions of Menders and Vipers.

Valkyrie gets used with daredevil runes on a number of staff thief builds. I’ve seen Knights used on defense-minded warriors, and have seen barabian used by power necros. Assassins can be used interchangeably with Beserkers, Assassin just swaps crit damage for crit frequency. Diviner’s and seeker is useful on boonshare builds.

Also guys, amulets are just stat allotments. I have no idea why “amulet diversity” is even a thing. Builds use the stat allotments that work best for them.

If you read the first line of the 2nd comment you captured. There are simply better options, not in these amulets.

People may play around with it (like i assume everyone has) but ultimately will not use these 9 amulets in serious builds.

Yes you can run some goofy build with these amulets and “have fun” playing something different.

Yet they do nothing for build diversity and you will not see the better players in the game use these amulets against other players in the game that also play at that level.

I don’t raid at all. I’m not some elitist like Malediktus that wants to keep my raid rewards to myself, and I never said you were too lazy to do Ember Bay of RoF or dungeons. But If you want raid rewards you need to raid, and you have admitted that you refuse to do raids, AKA lazy.

Ive already proven ive done raids. I have not been in there for months simply because i do not like pugging threw 10 man groups. Once again you are calling me lazy when i dont like the set up content, though i can run multiple builds in a raid and i mostly play at a time where many people are not raiding.

Once again i would like to point out that you have proven nothing. If Anet wants to say you need to raid to get raid rewards its fine but its straight out a joke since they cater to the PvE casual for everything. You yourself listed the things we can get in PvP by simply doing the necessary PvE completions.

You cant sit there and say ohhh your devaluing raids. Anet made PvP PvE friendly. I can get currency from Ember bay with a PvP reward track, blood stone fen, dungeons, Hot map currency. The only thing i cant get is get a raid reward track.

Also simply put Anet could simply do the samything they do for raids for the reward track. Make it only doable once a week.

You can keep name calling all you want because i dont enjoy the environment of raids but Anet set up everything for everyone could get everything they wanted when they made PvP and WvW get reward tracks for PvE junk. Guess what i want raid crap and there is no reason why i shouldnt be able too.

If you say again if you want raid rewards you should raid, my reply is if you want dungeon rewards you should have to do dungeons. If you want HOT map currency you should have to play the meta events, if you want PvP rewards you should have to PvP (get rid of hot join dailys) and thats the bottom line.

Shoutcasters cover the builds better!

GW2’s meta is so stale, and there is so little variability in builds that it is basically never worth going over them. After balance patches, shoutcasters tend to take a little more time discussing builds that changed significantly or are “newer” (like procmancer, for instance).

However, aside from those times, most of the “innovation” you will see is 1 trait swapped here or there. For instance, if you see an ele in a tourney, you know he is earth/water/tempest healbot, with the only variation whether he took aurashare or cleansing water and an extra shout. If you see a mesmer, you know are getting condi-spam. Due to the lack of diversity, its just not that interesting to see them list out specs.

Its this right here, for instance on my ele ive been running 4 shouts dagger-warhorn since the HOT came out. I havent changed much on the build for over a year and its not because i dont want to but because its simply better then any other build and i dont want to struggle threw dailies.

Anet is changing the meta from season to season but when the pro players on ever team run the exact same comps and the exact same builds Anet didnt see a problem. Then teams like if you watch the last 2 tournaments run off the meta team comp. They get destroyed.

I mean for awhile there you saw revs using 2 different runes. The shout casters were like whooaaaaaa hes using rune of rage and this rev is using rune of strength!!!! What a epic change and lets see how this battle goes down!!!!!!!!

Like ive said before ive done W1 and ive done part of W3. I simply dont enjoy redoing the content over and over again pugging with 9 other people.

You yourself said you should have to unlock dungeon rewards/bloodstone fen/ember bay. well guess what ive unlocked them by doing them. You said im too lazy or i wasnt good enough.

Thats is the ultimate joke right there. You talk about other people yet get defensive.

Also if i may, raids were not that difficult. Anet messed them up and nerfed classes because of it so now everyone is rebounding. I myself do not want to grind my way threw more HOT content. If i had a static raid group sure every week we could knock it out but when you pug and run into people who dont want certain builds or dont like etc etc etc etc etc.

Seriously you could write that you raid and you prefer that you get to keep your exclusive rewards and skins which is ironic being someone already pointed out that most of the PvP reward tracks are PvE based which once again happened to cater to the casual PvE player.
