However, I suggest a clean install of windows. Looking at your Log files you seem to be seriously infected with malware. (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts section of the log)

Try running chkdsk on the hard drive for possible problems.

Also, steps in Part 1.1 & Part 5.1 here might be worth trying.

Physical sudden restarts tend to be due to hardware issue. Components like Power supply can degrade over time etc. Try steps in part 5.1 and test your system.

Yes the GPU is weak and a AMD 8120 will still bottleneck in GW2, but it should be less of a bottleneck and perform better than a Core2Duo @ 2.1; or at least on par, but in your case you claim to get half as much.

Either:

1. Something is fishy with your new computer build
2. Your recollection of your old computer’s FPS numbers are off, or the grpahic settings used on it was different.
3. Window OS is having poor thread scheduling with the 8120 (see this article, possible fix/workaround) or (See Part4.8)

check your gw2.dat file. Is it still growing in size? Is the file remaining lower? Sometimes it’s still resuming, but the %progress doesn’t update for what you already downloaded.

You need a new computer.

GW2 is not installing because you don’t meet the requirements. It won’t even be able to run the game.

GW2 doesn’t use DX11, and borderland 2 might have installed different types of DX files.

Sounds like hardware issue. Where did you get this desktop? Should be under warranty.

If you plan to buy in march next year, asking for a specific mobo now will just be obsolete by then. You might even wait until intel’s next gen CPU is out Haswell. which is around that time or near summer. Used market varies widely, but your machine won’t get much. Maybe 200-300.

When you tried DLing with the Macbook, was that on the same network/internet connection as your windows desktop? If so, something could be fishy within windows.

With only 1% marketshare for linux OS, I doubt Anet will put resources into making a beta anytime soon. Plus Mac beta isn’t done. Even WoW doesn’t have linux client yet, but I heard they built one just didn’t release.

And yes, having problem with downloading the game itself as well(the infamous 1/3/5 file(s) remaining).

I do not understand, it would be really simple for ArenaNet to put up the game file itself(.dat or all of them, update them as patches come) on some ftp server as a standalone download without the use of the client. Problem solved.

do you mean 10:1008:8007:1009:101? (you were missing a number)

Usually codes starting with 10:xxx etc means some connection issue. Check your antivirus/firewall/malware etc tools.

Tried lowering the sound settings?

You can create a new tab and checkmark the channels/option you want to appear again.

That or you can delete your local.dat file, it will rest everything and regenerate it self.
