Old Tyria. I can’t stand puzzle/maze maps.

You can copy/paste the entire GW2 directory to another drive, update your short-cuts, and it will work. However, it will probably take much longer to load from your external HDD.

The core Tyria maps feel like an actual world.

HoT maps feel like a convoluted puzzle maze.

If map completion that takes 1.5 hr to complete, and requires you to do lots of non repetetive stuffs is grind to you, I don’t know what isn’t grind to you lol.

If you’re going to brag about “perfect” English, you might want to improve your grammar a bit first. “Knows” should be “know”, “stuffs” should be “stuff”, and “isn’t grind” should be “isn’t a grind”.

If you are expecting a world similar to Tyria – huge, and fun to explore – you will be disappointed.

If you really, really love Silverwastes/Drytop – timed meta events, many contested waypoints, convoluted navigation, player-on-rails – you might enjoy HoT.

Lately I’ve been very unlucky with salvage kits.
Using Black Lion Salvage Kits on rares, I received 3 Globs of Ectoplasm out of 6 rares.
Using Master’s Salvage Kits yesterday, I received 2 Globs of Ectoplasm out of 8 rares.
Today I had a similar result, not yielding any Globs of Ectoplasm from 5 or 6 rares using the Master’s Salvage Kits.
Have the kits been nerfed?

I kinda noticed that as well… I stopped salvaging rares, and TP all of them.

It is a potential issue.

People can say it’s not, as much as they like, but the truth is that if something like this is available, most people will require people to use it (especially for PUGs, or whatever) and it’s a slippery slope.

It’s the same with DPS meters.

If they are available, even if only to the player, people will require people to post their DPS.

Sometimes that might be a good thing, with certain unfairly maligned classes, but more often than not, it will not be.

I’ve been through all this in WoW.

Allowing inspection, measuring and third party stuff never seems to end well and turns the game into paint by numbers.

Maybe people want to play paint by numbers – that’s not your call to make.

Telling people they have no right to express their opinion isn’t your call to make.

The HoT content is all max-level end-game stuff. Since you’re still working through the base game, there’s no real rush to buy it, unless you really, really want to make a Revenant.

0/10 – spent a few hours in there the first weekend, absolutely hated the convoluted map design that felt less like a big open world begging to be explored, and more like a player-on-rails jumping game with ridiculous mob density. It was just more annoying than it was fun.

This is an absolutely terrible idea.

Having a guild generate money from it’s members will only lead to more guild spamming in map chat, and eventually guild selling. Remember folks, a guild is ultimately owned by one person, and they can do what ever they chose with it.

It happened in WoW with the “Cashflow” perk, and it was such a fiasco that they completely removed all guild perks in the last XP.

All the more reason not to put any real effort/resources/gold into building a guild hall that ultimately is owned by one person, and that person can do whatever they please with it.

Silverwastes are a much better way to make gold than WB by far, IMO. The only world boss that I do at reset is Teq, as I want the ascended weapon from Teq’s horde. I always feel sorry for the people I see doing the WB circuit.

I always feel sorry for people that think they need to spend hours running laps around the same map, and measure their fun in terms of “gold per hour.”

I’ve soloed the final personal story mission (Victory of Death) up to Mouth of Zhaitan without much trouble, but he is invulnerable to my attacks. Also, all the NPC’s that had been helping are just standing in the air-ship. Is this a bug?

I love epic quests that when you completed, you get something that you can show off. Something that other players could respect or admire.

If you’re playing any game with the expectation that the other players will be your fan-club, then you really need to rethink your priorities.

Impractical armor for the sake of sex-appeal has been a common trope of the fantasy genre for decades.
