Ascended Berserker Armor

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

Personally I doubt it.

They allowed the change with magic find because they were eliminating the stat at all, so there was a very big chance that people got the armor only for the magic find, it made sense to allow them to pick a different set of stats so they don’t lose the armor.

The change to ferocity is a change to the way crit damage % works, but isn’t eliminating it, berserker armor will still be power, precision and increase to crit damage (in the form of ferocity), and while overall damage will be reduced, berserker (and assasin) will still be the highest DPS gear you can get.

BTW, for those worried about it and planning on getting ascended armor… my sugestion would be that if you like to play as DPS, then by all means get your berserker ascended already. However, if you’d prefer to play as any other role but planning on making berserker armor just because it’s the current “meta” or “viable” or whatever, then I’d hold on to the materials at least until the feature patch hits after march.

Endless amounts of mob and no loot.

in The Origins of Madness

Lots of mobs with zero loot and no guaranteed pay off after an hour of hard work and perhaps several hours wait.

That is the definition of soul crushing, you can not expect people to do any of that without a reward. The fact that they even had the idea to do this proves the designers do not play their own content.

Well, having no loot on the mobs for me is a sign that the designers at least see what players do. Having loot on the endless mobs spawning will just mean it’ll be another scarlet invasions, with people finding a way to manipulate the event to never proceed from the part where the mobs spawn so they can get more loot, and fighting between people trying to complete the event and people just trying to keep the loot train going as long as possible.

Mass confusion event... our fault or Anets

in The Origins of Madness

I think it’s a bit of both.

I do agree that would have been nice to have an actual text saying what we had to do like “place barrels near the wurm to weaken it” when we’re in the area of a particular event, but to say they didn’t even give a clue as to what to do is a bit of an exageration IMHO.

I’ve played in 2 of the heads so far (crimson and amber), and from what I remember we did get at least an idea of what to do. I don’t remember the exact dialogue, but when playing the amber head (barrels), when we finished escorting the NPC and the wurm head came out, he said something about his skin being too hard to damage, and that maybe if we manage to get it to eat the powder barrels, it might be enough to damage it (and conveniently you get the “0/20 barrels” indicator on the screen). Same with the crimson one, the NPC first says about how those platforms have been altered to use the gas as a weapon, and when the wurm comes out, tells you to use them, and then you see each platform get a color icon on top of it, and gas clouds with the same color icons appear, not too hard to figure out what to do, and when the platforms are full you get a “the platforms are full, prepare to attack the wurm” text in the middle of the screen.

How to kill Wurms

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

The East wurm there are three platforms marked with colors (blue, yellow and red), there are also clouds of gas marked with the same colors. Basically you have to run trough the gas clouds, you get an icon on top of you with the gas color (you can have up to one of each color on you at a time), then you run to the platform matching the color of your icon, when you pass over the platform it picks the gas up. Once all three platforms are full, then you can damage the wurm for a little while.

If you get downed or hit by green bubbles thrown by adds you’ll lose any gas you have on you.

Green light instant death

This is really the most idiotic type of game design i have ever seen.

Why do game designers not learn that random one-hit kills are NOT FUN and also not challenging or whatever .. they are just plain stupid and frustrating because a random death is no challenge when you have no chance to do anything against it.

That death isn’t supposed to be the challenge… the challenge is to prevent it by succeeding in the event. Personally I like it that failing it actually has a big consequence for everyone, and I kinda expected Tequatl to do that (kill everyone) if you failed to defeat it instead of just flying away.

My Engineer was my first character and it was a Sylvari. I don’t really mind my Sylvari, but it’s not my favorite character look wise and i won’t do another Sylvari Engineer if I could go back. I think the best race for Engineer would be Charr, Asura or Human.

Human : Well they fit everything so.

Char : Their culture in GW2 fit so well the Engineer. A semi-industrial (18-19h century europe) kind of look.

Asura : An asura with an engineer kits is always funny. These little things with a huge backpack its just perfect lol. Its so easy to make a funny character with the mix of Asura and Engineer.

One thing to take into account if you plan on making a charr engineer… medium armor is VERY trenchcoat heavy (big surprise!!!)… problem is there are only like 5 or 6 armor sets that take into account that the charr have a tail, so you’ll be severely limited on armor sets unless you don’t mind the tail clipping all the time trough the back of the armors.

A quick tip for the future, you can check the drop rate of different items from black lion chests in this page:

http://gw2blacklion.com/

according to it you have a roughly a littie over 20% chance of a scrap, and roughly 1.5% chance of a ticket, which means you would have expected about 8 scraps and 0 (maybe 1 if you were lucky) tickets from 37 chests… so I guess you did get lucky on the scraps.

I’ll go with asura. Lorewise they make sense as engineers, plus their medium cultural armor looks like a perfect fit for an engineer (charr and norn medium look better for rangers, while sylvari and human for thieves/assassin types, IMHO).

I have a charr engineer, and and while I do love the character, TBH I don’t recommend charr for light and medium armor users, unless you’re not bothered by clipping issues. There are like 5 or 6 chest armor pieces that won’t clip with the tail, and I’m including the ones you can purchase off the gem store.

They already said that they won’t support or comment about whether third party apps or add ons are ok or not, if they did, then they’d be drowned in questions of whether using X or Y is ok or not, and if they answer only some and not others people would accuse them of playing favorites.

EDIT: found it:

Gaile Gray
ArenaNet Support Liaison

ArenaNet cannot approve or review or “vet” any third-party programs. Our general policy is that anything that gives advantage is forbidden; anything that imbalances the game in favor of one player over another is strictly disallowed. With that said, we are aware that some utilities help players without impacting others, that is, they do not give anyone an advantage over someone else.

Our development team is not able to review third-party programs to kitten their components or give them any sort of approval. We make our policies clear in our User Agreement, Rules of Conduct, and the Conduct Breaches and Outcomes document, which you can find in the Legal Documentation section of our website: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/ You should know the following:

If you chose to use any third-party program, you do so at your own risk.
We cannot offer support if the third-party program impacts Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 and, for instance, makes the game unplayable.
If you choose to use what you believe to be a “benign,” or non-advantage-giving program, be sure to get it from a legitimate source to protect yourself from the possible addition of cheats or key-loggers.

The best way for a player to kitten whether a specific third-party program could have any impact on another player or a PvP opponent is to ask:

“Does this program allow someone to play faster, better, longer, or more accurately than someone who doesn’t use it?”
“Does this program allow someone to ‘play’ when he/she is not at the computer?”
“Does this program allow the user to gain undeserved rewards?”

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”—or even “maybe”—then we strongly recommend that you do not use the program because to do so may place your Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account in jeopardy.

In the future, we will be working directly with the community to develop app support for Guild Wars 2, so stay tuned for more info!

Personally I’m hoping is something about taking the chains one by one… maybe hacing the actual chains be separate targets, so you first have to kill the chains on the feet, rendering them useless, forcing it to go down a little bit so it can attack with the arms, and so on.

Actually reminds me of a movie I saw called “Strings” where the characters are puppets (as in, actual puppets, not portrayed by puppets), when a baby is born, it’s carved out of wood and strings come out of the sky, and the parents connect them to the baby giving it life, when they fight with swords (it’s a medieval setting), they try to cut the strings instead of the body, so if someone gets its hand sting cut, the hand becomes useless (cut the one attached to the head and they die)

The toxic skins

Hi i was away when the thesse cool toxic skins came out the mask one and the shoulders, i just found out. is there any way to get them? have arenaetnet still not think about players who might miss those?
I hate it that they have their stupid limited policy and i think they lose more money by doing that.

Actually, it’s the other way around (at least in most sales). When something comes out with limited availability usually ends up selling more (a LOT more) than an item with unlimited availability. The way it works is that if the item has no time/stock limit, then people just have more time to think about it, and even say things like “I’ll get it when/if I need it”… if it’s a limited item, lots of people tend to rush to purchase because they might want/need it in the future when it’s no longer available, so it ends up selling a lot more (which is why you see limited time promotions all the time everywhere).

Back to the original question, nope, there’s no way to get it right now, but Anet has reintroduced popular items for a limited time in the past, so keep your eyes open. For example, the anniversary sale introduced rox and braham’s weapons again: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/welcome-to-the-anniversary-sale/ . Maybe they’ll do something like that in march for the end of the season of the living story.

Question about Meta Achievement

in A Very Merry Wintersday

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

I’d say not.

Last wintersday achievements weren’t completable this one, same with the halloween ones. Makes sense considering that the meta event reward from last year was different (apprentice toymaker title, this year is journeyman toymaker and a choice of a pet or 100 presents), not to mention that at least some of the achievements last year wouldn’t be completable this year (last year Tixx set shop on each of the main cities before getting to Lion’s Arch, and you got an achievement for doing the dungeon in each one, this year he went straight for LA, and this year’s couldn’t be completed without also doing dailies that might not be available next year).

I’m guessing that’s how it’ll be for all holiday events, which also makes sense since it gives you more achievements to get if you already finished the meta in previous years. Non holiday periodic events (SAB, for example) might work differently, though, since we already saw in SAB that previous achievements were completable and new ones were added, and we already have a dev quote somewhere in the forums saying that the queen’s gauntlet will return, and achievements will be completable when it does.

Tips on new / start up guilds

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

Some extra tips I’ve seen from guilds I’ve been in.

Define what kind of guild you want it to be, for example, WvW heavy guild, PvE heavy, dungeons and so on. I feel this is important for small guilds that have a small number of active leaders (or even a single one), even if you plan on doing a bit of everything, usually there’ll always be one aspect of the game you (and your leaders) will like the most, advertise it as being a guild heavy in that aspect and mention that you also do the other things. That will also make sure that the people that join will be on the same boat than you (otherwise you might end up having people join that are always in WvW or PvP while you spend most of your time in PvE or dungeons, for example).

Figure out what stands your guild apart from other guilds and advertise it. Some examples, doing daily events (mondays doing dungeons, tuesdays is WvW day and so on), doing silly stuff (mass naked dancing in LA), maybe a guild focused on no drama easygoing people, or on the other hand one focused on progression and speed clearings, stuff like that.

Don’t only advertise with the random map spam… there are usually so many of those that most people just tune them out as it is. Instead invite people to do activities with you. If you do silly stuff, advertise it on map chat (Guild X is starting the naked WvW race in 10 minutes, if you want to participate, go to Y waypoint and get naked!!!), or dungeon running (Guild X is going to run Y dungeon in 30 minutes, if you want to join one of our groups, sent me a tell!!!). One good example I ran into sometime ago was with guild missions, a guild was about to start their guild mission run and advertised in map chat in LA whoever wanted to help them (and of course get their commendations), they sent people temporary guild invites (giving them a specific rank) and went on to do the missions, and when they were over gave everyone thanks for their participation, and that they would remove the temporary members when they were done, but that whoever wanted to stay as a guild member, just mention it on guild chat and would be moved to full member.

I have a dream...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

I had a dream when I was young
A dream of sweet illusion
A glimpse of hope and unity
And visions of one sweet union
But a cold wind blows and a dark rain falls
And in my heart it shows
Look what they’ve done to my dream!!!

(I love Queen)

BTW, those things you dream, or maybe something similar to it, or something completely different, might be in the works…. when it’ll be done, or whether it’ll be done at all, is anyone’s guess, though:

“Actually, it sounds like there is an expansion planned. “We have a couple of really big Guild Wars projects cooking in the background,” Johanson told me.

Later, he added: "Some of our players believe that because we are doing this Living World seasons, and these features or these big feature-builds, that it means that the features you would traditionally get in an expansion, or the content you would traditionally get in an expansion, is not something that will get added to Guild Wars 2. And that is not true at all.

“Not only are we doing those things, new features and content you would traditionally get from a boxed expansion are also things that will be added to Guild Wars 2.

“The thing that we haven’t decided yet,” he went on, "is what form that type of content will take. Is it right for Guild Wars 2 for that kind of boxed expansion? Is it right for that to be something we add, live, through storylines in the game? Is that something we want to sell through our in-game store? There are a lot of different options available to us.

“… but we absolutely are going to do sweeping new features that you would traditionally only get in expansions – large regions, content and progression additions to your characters in the form of growth and professions and races. Those are all things that you will see in the lifespan of Guild Wars 2.”"

It’s easy to test, though… stow your weapon and run next to someone with their weapon drawn out and check who goes faster, but be sure it’s someone you know and not someone randomly in the world, because you don’t know if you or them are affected by a trait, signet, rune or anything else that affects running speed.

Well, since the tower (that I remember offhand):

Marjorie and Kasmeer are the main characters during the tower (Braham and Rox are there too, but you only see them inside the tower sometimes), Marjorie as poisons expert trying to find an antidote for the tower’s toxins, and kasmeer as a mesmer trying to get trough the illusion cloaking the tower (when you talk to marjorie she says that the “mesmer collective” called for her to go there). Eventually Kasmeer breaks trough the illusion and reveals the tower.

In the next step they’re in the camp right outside the tower, and sometimes appear with you inside the tower. BTW, The random conversation between Kasmeer and Marjorie makes it look like they’re more than just close friends, along with some other tidbits of information about them (like the fact that Kasmeer would never take her good clothes where they could get dirty or wrinkled, so she’s actually naked and her clothes are a mesmer illusion).

During the tower of nightmares anytime you entered into a chamber (instanced solo content), you got 1 or 2 companions with you randomly selected between Braham, Rox, Marjorie and Kasmeer. The chamber’s toxins made them hallucinate, Braham kept seeing his mother (Eir) watching him unaprovingly, Rox the same but with Rytlock, Kasmeer saw her father telling her to wait there for him and then leaving, and Marjorie the kid whose dead made her leave the guard (read her story).

Later they both help you kill the plant/kraitt hybrid that Scarlett was creating within the tower (Scarlett, as usual, escapes while monologuing about how it was all according to her plan) and inject anti toxin directly into the tower’s center, but that doesn’t kill it. You go back with them later and find clues in a lab nearby where Scarlett had items of all the other alliances/things she has made (aetherblade, twisted clockwork and so on), create a new antitoxin and that one does work. Kasmeer makes a portal out of the tower just in time before it crumbles to the ground.

Braham, Rox, Marjory and Kasmeer remain in the camp near the remains of the tower dealing with the roots that are still releasing toxins, and (at least Kasmeer) getting relief efforts for nearby towns going.

Kiel and Evon are still in Lion’s Arch. Evon now walks around the black lion trading post (don’t remember if he did before, I usually saw him just standing upstairs) and has a new dialogue, saying how he’s worried that now that Kiel is heavily involved in the mists and Magnus has the lionguard patroling away from Lion’s Arch that Scarlett might take the chance to attack the city (potential foreshadowing?).

Another thing I just remembered… Rox sent a mail (that didn’t go to everyone, bug maybe?) where she referred to herself as “Rox Whetstone”… maybe it means that she was finally accepted into Rytlock’s warband?.

If you need convincing, then you’re probably just not interested in the first place. Maybe wait until it’s live, see what people think about it and what it’s all about and decide whether you might fing it fun.

As for me, looks like a half attractive update so far. Based only on the trailer video, the wurm thing looks like just several copies of the jungle wurm event happening at the same time, not that much interesting… but the giant marionette looks really cool (again, to me), I love the way it moves making it clear that it’s not really moving on its own power but like an actual marionette pulled by the chains, has lots of potential for a cool fight.

Of course, that’s all based on the single trailer, for all I know the wurm fight might end up being really cool and the marionette one really bad one, or maybe both end up being really good events (hoping here), or maybe both end up boring…. the only thing I really know for sure is that I’ll try them when they go live.

http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/armour/human/human-medium-karma-rogue-male.jpg

Maybe with the outlaw gloves:

http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/armour/human/human-medium-craft-outlaw-male.jpg

And maybe the pirate hat and boots:

http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/armour/human/human-medium-stand-pirate-male.jpg

and hide the shoulder.

The harest part would be the weapon, IMHO, since rangers can’t use staves or scepters, which are what could maybe look like that one.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Personally I don’t think it looks stupid at all, I like the colors, they work well with each other, yellow and purple work well as complementary colors and I like the general idea of having yellow/golden metallic parts and purple cloth (actually it can be a classic combination for royalty IIRC).

The one part I’d replace (and I see you already agree) is the pants, mainly because the shoulders, helmet and gloves (can’t see the shoes from there) use a lot of curves, and the chest piece works with them, but, IMHO, the pants have too many straight and squarey lines, maybe preview the same combination but with other armor leggings to see how they flow (maybe something like the sigil one or the T2 human).

That said, looks are subjective, what looks great for you might look stupid for someone else… but the one that’s going to be staring at that character most of the times is you, not them, so if it looks good to you, then it’s all good. As a good example, if it was my character, I’d replace the legguards and keep everything else….. while you see in the previous post someone else loves the legguards and would replace the gloves…

Logical Race/Profession Combinations?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

Here the ones I see most logical as a race/profession combos:

Asura: Elementalist, mesmer, engineer. While for gameplay purposes asura can also be any other profession, lorewise I think that if an average asura needs to do some punching, it’s more likely to make a golem to do the punching for them.

Charr: Warrior, engineer, ranger, thief. Since the flame legion was driven back by the other legions, Charr would heavily distrust any form of magic so I’d say magic users aren’t very common among the Charr.

Norn: Warrior, ranger, elementalist, guardian. Norn are all about personal glory, so any profesion favored by norn will be one that lets them go face to face with their enemies, and preferably at melee range. IMHO they’re most likely not too keen in profesions that rely on subterfuge, evasion or indirect damage.

Human: In most fantasy humans are portrayed as jack of all trades, and IMHO GW2 is no exception. Humans fit every profession, and actually you can make direct links from most of them to human gods, or see examples of one specific profesion in human enviroments (engineering, for example, in divinity reach in the mechanical orchestra and the watchwork robot things).

Sylvari: I’d also say every profession is a good match for a sylvari. They’re a young race, and extremely curious about everything, so it makes sense for them to try to learn every profession out there. Some see engineer and necro as less popular choices for sylvari… yet the biggest villain currently in the living story is a silvary engineer, and her motive at first was curiosity, to be able to understand and create machinery as complex as the ones she saw in nature, and if you go to the novels, in Ghosts of Ascalon there’s Kileen, a sylvari necro (and the biggest counter example to the dark brooding necromancer type, as she was the sweetest character in the novel), and her motivation to become one was that she was curious about death, considering that sylvari don’t even know themselves whether they can actually age and die of natural causes in the first place.

What is the point in liquid karma?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

My theory of why is it still in liquid form is that the other ways to get karma (events, fractals and so on) don’t seem to be designed to work with RNG in mind, the amount of karma you get depends only on fixed factors (level, participation in case of events, difficulty in fractals and so on) while, for example, the ones you get in the orrian boxes and champion boxes, depend on RNG.

Still I’d like the cases where the amount of karma you get if fixed (dailies, monthly, achievements) to be handed directly instead of an item, though it’s not really that much of a deal anyway.

From what i gather from the post about the break from updates up to the January the 21th, you are doing it so you will make all the other things you missed on doing from that 2013 post a reality, am i correct?

If so just a reminder that you, amongst other things, promised new legendaries.
I count in the group of such individuals who saved allot of cash cause they found the current legendaries not suited to their characters.
So on the behalf of me and my like minded individuals, hop to it.
If you can throw out content bi-weekly and have it be semi good im sure a whole month (or more since i doubt it will pop in the first content updates) is more than enough time to focus on getting the rest of that 2013 list “crossed off”.

And make us a good staff this time around. :O

My guess is that it’s actually two things…

First, they’re most likely getting some well deserved time off during christmas so they can spend some time with the family (specially considering how long and unrewarding work hours can be on the gaming industry in general), and second, they probably realized long time ago that having a buch of temporary content being released on the 24th (when the next LS path was due if they kept their regular schedule), the day when lots of people take vacation and travel to spend the holidays with their families so they probably won’t be able to play for a while, wasn’t such a good idea.

I do agree that I’d have liked to have new skins, but I guess it’s a case of kittened if you do, kittened of you don’t. In the halloween event they introduced new skins and most of the old ones didn’t return… and there was a complaint fest on forums from people that were hoping to get the old skins this year.

Put old skins only, get complains about beimg recycled content, put new skins only, get complains from people that couldn’t get then the previous year, put both, and they’d set a precedent where people will expext both every event, which could become an organizational problem when so many skins become available at once few years down thebroad.

“Rox Whetstone

New Arrivals to Tyria

I’ve been noticing a lot of new faces around. It seems like we’ve got ourselves a batch of recent arrivals to Tyria, and as every good soldier knows, it’s bad luck to waste a potential resource.

There’s strength in numbers, and from what I hear, recruiting these folks could really help to boost the influence of any guild that welcomes them in. Besides, you never know when a new ally might come in handy. With all the recent mayhen—Tequatl going beserk, the Toxic Alliance, and all the Scarlet craziness—I know I’d feel better having as many friends around as possible.

Any Good Flamekissed Replacement?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: locoman.1974

locoman.1974

I don’t think it will be a reskin of an existing set, or if it starts with an existing mesh, it will change dramatically. See the below post from Gaile in the Account Issues forum:

I really believe the best course here is to wait for the introduction of the replacement armor set. From what I’ve been told, it’s going to be really nice.

This suggests that the devs have already been thinking about how important the quality of the replacement set will be toward settling the issue. Not only thinking about it, but talking about it with other staff outside the art dept. They are probably going to retain as much of the concept behind the T3 set as possible since that’s clearly what the buyers wanted.

So when they release a cool looking light set, then medium and heavy will complain about what they got instead… then again, it’s not like people need much to complain anyway (sometimes it feels like you could give people free gold and they’ll complain it isn’t shiny enough)..

Norn Light Armour Class. Not sure

in Players Helping Players

If you’re looking for one that fits the lore, I think elementalist is the one that would fit norn the better, with necro second and mesmer third. As for armor selection, well, it’s all up to you, someone might find an armor good looking while you might find it bad, check the available skins here:

http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/norn-light.htm
(note: doesn’t include gem store ones)

Personally I have a norn mesmer, and I’ve been using the heritage set (from HoM if you played GW1) since forever and it’s my favorite (but wouldn’t be using it for any other class)

I would also like to see some light armor skins that didn’t look like crap on Charr. My main is a Charr Mesmer, and his armor is so hard to make look good. The Arah Top is the only top that looks good on Charr for light armor. Every other skin in the game sucks on Charr for light top. I mean the Light armor t3 looks horrible. Please redo Charr T3 Light armor and make it good. Heres a idea of what looks good, 1. No tiaras seriously why would my toon want a blue star on my head that nobody will see? My toon is not a contestant of for a miss America padgent. Give me a cool hood that is half way down and sticks out like the town clothes vest hood but just the hood part as non town town clothes armor. 2. I don’t want light armor that looks like scaly medium amror with a skirt. 3. No more skirts. No half skirts, no skirts no dresses no bathrobes. I want pants or long shorts that don’t look like bondage clothes or have strange pockets like AC light pants. Seriously regular pants, cargo pants, Cloth Jeans or something that looks like I would wear it. 4. Nothing “Sexy”. I want serious looking clothes not something to wack it to. 5. And lastly I want hats that don’t turn my toon bald when equiped. Seriously look at the light Aetherblade helm and tell me it looks good on a Charr. I dare you. It makes my Charr bald. All his hair that I picked out, his black mane… suddenly gone when wearing this helm. Seriously do some better layering.

tldr: pants, no crowns, better shirts, fix your layering, no more bald charr

I completely agree with you that charr could use some much better options when it comes to light armor, but as far as the cultural goes I guess it’s an example of different strokes for different folks, personally I don’t like the design of T1 and T2 charr light, but T3 is one of the few light armors that I think look great on a Charr.

Armor sets made by each race, as a sign of goodwill to the other races.

While not the same as cultural armors, these essentially would be a cultural gift set. Armors that are inspired and influenced by some of the fictional craftsman’s cultural armors, while still maintaining a distinct visual identity. After all, who wouldn’t want an outfit inspired by Eir’s wolfborn? In this method, the cool bits of each culture could be represented on any character without sacrificing the uniqueness of their actual sets.

We already have some of it. The magitech medium armor, for example, seems asura designed, phoenix has a human vibe to it, and Braham’s armor is definitively norn designed, not to mention the dungeon armors (AC and CM = human, TA= sylvari, CoF = charr, CoE = asura, HotW = norn). Still, I’d also like more cultural based armor for other races, specially I’d like one shiny heavy sylvari style armor.

Server still actively doing the tower?

in The Nightmare Within

Yak’s Bend seems to still be active. At least yesterday I was playing during my lunch break, there was one large group playing (following a commander) from level 1, I joined them at level 2, but had to go AFK and was dead when I came back, so I went to level 3 to wait for them, and again had to go AFK in the middle of level 3, so I went back to level 3’s entrance and joined another group (4 of us total) and had no problem reaching the end.

Later I was playing again at night, there was at least one large group that was already halfway trough level 3 when I joined the tower, and after a few minutes I joined another group that went to level 3 (5 other people) and got to the end.

So, it seems it’s still fairly active in Yak’s Bend, or maybe I was just lucky at the times I was playing.

“I wanted to be unique”…No you didn’t. You wanted to own something expensive. There are dozens of armor pieces that are almost never worn. Yet most human casters are in T3.
I don’t find anything wrong with wanting to show off, but at least don’t hide it behind “I wanted to be a snowflake”.

500+ posts and they still have nothing to say…..

What do you honestly expect them to say ? This isn’t you throwing a fit at your kid and expecting them to say “sowwy we’ll fix it”. Because they can’t fix it. According to numerous posts, hundreds of players already own those armor. Anet isn’t going to take that away from them.

They can’t take it away by now, wouldn’t be fair for those that already purchased it, whether they were aware of the controversy or just saw a cool looking skin and bought it (maybe not even knowing it’s a cultural reskin), but personally at least I’d like a statement whether it’ll be a one time thing, or whether we can expect other races’s cultural gear available in the future (asura medium pls), what’s the new stance to cultural gear exclusivity, and if it’s a one time thing, why human light and not any other race/armor type.

Also, as a sugestion to Anet, maybe consider adding a vendor NPC, kinda like the one for the guild kite, that do a one time exchange from regular cultural T3 pieces to flamekisser pieces for those interested, as a good will gesture towards those that bought the T3 and feel cheated over the better (for them, I don’t like flamey stuff) looking version available for less gold, at least for as long as the item is offered on the gem store
