Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Nobody really knows. It could be free. It could be a million dollars. All we can do is guess based on what we have seen vs similar things. Assuming multiple editions I would be surprised at any number lower than $20 for the no-frills one but I am just guessing too.
Actually we know for a fact that it won’t be free.
Really? that expensive??
That is standard price for MMO expansions at release.
You will still be able to keep playing without buying HoT.
You will not get access to certain HoT specific things however. Such as the Masteries and the Elite Specializations. Nor the new areas (I would assume).
As for cost we do not know. But I would guess somewhere between $39,99 and $59,99 for the standard version.
What would the purpose of this be? The things unlocked by Skillpoints won’t stay unlocked after the change anyway, and the stuff crafted with skill points will be just as craftable after the change due to them changing into the new currency.
And why should they take unsupported activities into account in the first place?
The raffles can easily bypass the whole issue by giving away items instead of gold.
The reason it got deleted and you got infracted was due to you breaking the rules of the forums. Might I suggest you review them here:

Yes, the sales might increase (for a while, which is rather important to take into consideration), but will they increase enough?
I prefer the current price.
Making them account-wide would increase the price quite a bit, in order to compensate for the loss of income due to less being sold.
And yes, people can claim all they want that more will be sold and thus that would compensate. But do we actually know that?
And what happens when people have bought it and few new players are coming into the game? That would mean that the income from them would basically become zero, due to people creating new characters would no longer need to buy another unlock.
As poor as the OPs argument was I have to agree.
They should focus on fixing the leaderboard, and getting more people playing.
And yes the budget for the WTS probably comes from somewhere else, like marketing. Well guess what, budgets can be moved!
If they really want GW2 to compete with the likes of LoL they have to go F2P. That is the only way they will get those sorts of numbers.
I think a PvP only F2P version has to happen. And we will all be better off for it.
Fixing the leaderboard is made by developers, developers are not working on the tournaments.
And how is a rather big worldwide event not a good way to get more people playing?
Budgets can indeed be moved.
If you have control of said budget.
It is rather unlikely that they do however, considering that they are fully owned by NCSoft, so I am rather sure that NCSoft sets the budget. Which would require that they brought it up to them and convinced them to change the budget. It is also rather funny that you feel like they should move parts of the marketing budget just a single line under the statement that they should focus on getting more people playing.
You are aware that marketing is about getting more people playing, right?
You do not have to have the numbers of LoL in order to work as a esport. In fact, having those sort of numbers would probably just make it worse.

Why should legitimate players loose 15% of their money each time they money around wealth just to circumvent the restrictions?
Its not like they have been taxed multiple times before by the trading post to make said wealth.RMT does not affect me. I just block + report any gold seller and move on. So I am not happy to have any additional restrictions. Its like celebrating the NSA or other spy agencies because it might reduce terrorism. Truth is, I rather would die by terrorism than getting spied all the time.
It is actually rather naive to claim that RMT does not affect you.
It might not affect you directly, but indirectly it affects everyone that plays the game.
Keep in mind that if there have been any sort of questionable activity on the account or there is a risk that it might have been hacked (and thus they hacker want to change password) they need (or at least should) have all these things in order to more or less guarantee that it is the rightful owner that does the changes.
Sure, it might be slightly annoying, but would you rather risk losing your account to someone else, due to them not taking the time making sure that you are who you claim you are?
That’s why you have dedicated development teams.
Exactly.
Which is exactly what ArenaNet have. And thus the World Series will in no way or form stop them form working on fixes, since it is not the same people working on those two things.
Almost another month down the toilet.. Really hope this is coming out with the next patch come this point in time. Otherwise I’d be pretty ticked off to find out that its been fixed and anet is waiting to release it with the Lions Arch content update, or something like that, as a feature…
Considering that it is not a game-breaking (or even playability related) issue, it is rather unlikely that they would push it out on its own but rather wait until an already scheduled patch.
I agree, the limit should be increased to 5k Gold. 500 is nothing.
500g is apparently so much that the change only effected 1% of the playerbase, so I would say that it is more than enough. Increasing it to 5k gold would make it completely pointless.
You seem to be under the impression that people handling tournaments and such are the same people that fixes stuff in the game. That is extremely unlikely.
LoL was built from the ground an up as a PvP game, there is literally nothing to do in that game other than PvP, while GW2 have 2 other modes that needs to be taken into consideration as well.
What do you mean?
Traits will still require unlocking if that is what you mean, but the system will be completely changed before HoT.
You should probably change your signature btw, seeing as you clearly are posting again (and the fact that it is false).
Well lag isn’t beaming the rules so if there is someone reporting people for lag then they need a warning.
Only if they do it repeatedly.
Reporting someone once for something that turns out to be within the rules will not do anything. If you on the other hand keep reporting the same person for the same thing 10 times action will probably be taken.
The difference is that you can now chose exactly what to unlock and in which order, while before you had no real choice when it came to that. It is also worth pointing out that this is coming before HoT, rather than as a part of HoT itself.
You get 400 points by simply leveling up to lvl 80.
Then you need 65 ADDITIONAL points in order to unlock everything in the Core lines. Those additional 65 will be gotten by Hero/Skill Challenges.
No. The Hero Challenges are the current Skill Challenges.

Just a couple of threads down in this very forum section.
Hey do give credit where credit is due, kinda impressive that the OP did manage to copy that god-aweful complicated link without errors :P
Which, to be fair, makes the post even more suspicion. Especially considering that the OP have posted very little before and never since.
This time it isnt from an ingame mail but on a site. But yeah i know what you mean.
Actually the link is from an in-game mail. The op simply copied it (manually) and posted it here.
Until they are actually released we can’t know this. We have seen glimpses of changes made, and every time they have shown us stuff they have been rather clear that it is not final and might change quite a bit before release.
It is actually very likely that they will do quite many changes to existing skills. Especially considering the fact that certain changes that are being made REQUIRE them to change the skills as well.

Why do people keep assuming that they will not do a single change to the vanilla professions?
Because they have already shown most of the traits, and it takes an act of God for Anet to actually change something once they have shown it.
Traits != Skills.
What makes you so sure they are not also changing the vanilla professions with HoT?
It is in fact very likely that many skills will be rather different with all these changes.

Or you could just, you know, re-summon it?
Isn’t kind of the point of the tablet that you need to think about placement and such? Making it follow you everywhere wouldn’t really work at all with that point.
And yet here you are posting the very same link?
This is a known scam, we have literally new threads about it every single day. It even says that it is not from ArenaNet in the mail.
Remove the link before someone presses it. And if you have pressed it (which I assume since you have screenshot of the page) make sure to scan your computer for malware/viruses and change the passwords on your email and game account.
If they add any sort of way to bypass the restriction, the restriction will become pointless.
Just once again boils down to putting out content and features over a huge time frame every two weeks and then turn the faucet off, to terrible drip fed information about the beta.
Because people DEMANDED that they changed it.
This is a screenshot showing it (and it was up for over 10 minutes btw)
http://i.imgur.com/s7nG0VX.jpg
There is nothing at all in any of those three thingies that looks remotely as Super Adventure Box. In fact, you can’t really make out anything.
So why not wait with creating the thread until you have something that actually supports the position?
Right now we basically have a single person that claims that it said SAB and thus that SAB will come back, but there is not any kind of proof whatsoever supplied by anyone.
If they upload it on Youtube (which I believe they usually do) they should be able to edit it before uploading it there yes.
They also must have been extremely fast in changing the view, since apparently no one had the time to press print-screen ^^ (people seem to have had the time to read exactly what it said however, interestingly enough).
The cd you got was from the vanilla version of the game.
And even then it was basically only the launcher.
Since then there have been massive amounts of stuff added to the client.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Release
I believe I read something about 1 unit is about 1 inch. So 600 range would be around 600 inches which would be about 50 feet. Or about 15 meters.
So.. any pictures of this supposed “SAB reveal”?
There are possibilites. All the text was orange though, personal story would be green.
The only festival that is coming up would be Dragon Bash, but I don’t think that’s it. Once i have the screenshot you can clearly make out, Super Adventure Box.
You can make out an S, an A, and the last word has 3 letters.
People see what they want to see.
And it is stuff like this that leads to raging and whining when it ends up not being what people assumed it would be.
Until we have confirmation what it is we should not go around shouting about it being X.
except recently they were showing something off and it gave away the “Year of the Ram” event ahead of time, but they felt that wasn’t gamebreaking enough to blur
a big world event is coming, and they tried to blur it out to keep it from getting leaked, but the blur effect wasn’t that great and you could still make out Super Adventure Box in the top right corner
Or maybe it was simply that they didn’t think about it, but due to the reactions from people seeing it they made sure to not have it happen again? The Year of the Ram miss was several months ago, and since then they have always hid that part of the screen.
There are massive amounts of possibilities that they are hiding that part of the screen. Jumping to it being SAB is rather silly. There is nothing that indicates anything at all that it would be SAB.
In fact, it could simply be hiding a spoilery personal story thingy or something.
Or one of all the other festivals/stuffs that have been released before.
Is there a reason why the OP keeps posting these threads (it is not the first time) without even trying to check out the available facts first?
Based on the screenshot the keep is fully upgraded, so technically you won’t need any of the supplies there anyway.
As for stopping it as a player that would be impossible
There are changes coming with HoT however which make upgrades happen even without supplies and thus there would be less reason for the siege trolls to troll.
And yet we have rather clear information about the Mists not working the same way as Tyria itself. Therefore it is not all that much of a stretch to think that he simply came back before he actually left due to the timeline being wonky.
As for the elite specialisations however: There were no reapers when the personal story first took place, and yet now there can be reapers doing the personal story. You are not forced to do it on level, and there are plenty of people who just use Tomes to level up to 80 as once. Just the same as with Revenant.
If we are going to have a specific story for Revenant “because they didn’t exist before” we should have a specific story for Elite Specializations as well, seeing as they didn’t exist before either.
I’m really wondering how kittened up it can be.
Also in general why does stuff in a complete other map get’s broken? What did they even do to break it? Shouldn’t they have some sort of ‘order’ to prevent this?
I guess we will never know.
Because that is the nature of development.
Everything is connected. Otherwise there would never be any bugs in any software ever. And everyone knows that there is bugs in every advanced software.
They have made plenty of changes to the engine for one, which would make something like SAB, that relies heavily on the engine (the one back when it was released that is), very unlikely to work now.
It is always easy to claim that it shouldn’t happen and they should have a plan for it. But in reality that simply doesn’t work. There will always be bugs turning up in the most unexpected places, often without the reason being apparent until you find a fix for it.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
They won’t ban people based on reports alone. They will investigate before and thus quite easily see if it is a matter of lag or hacking.
So you CHOOSE to not use the free way available to you and then complain about the way you have to use instead of that?
What if someone hates doing everything other than standing around in Lion’s Arch talking? Should that someone get everything unlocked automatically by just doing that as well?
But as have already been stated, they are changing the system with the new trait-system that is coming before HoT. (This will still require doing Skill Challenges though, if you want everything unlocked.)
You can unlock every single trait in the game for free.
Some of you guys are hilarious, Come on here saying" some people might hate it but some like it". How about you grow up and realize not all people will the opinions you have. I know i have, so please post something good on this forum instead of hunting down people to argue withXD P.S If anyone has ideas for specs pls post them here.
This is slightly ironic considering the fact that you were the one that made a thread on the forums complaining about not getting the info you wanted…
i’ve got a few gripes with revenants in RP too. There are going to be A lot of them, RPers as well as non-RPers. with so many people channeling the same few powerful legendary people/demons what have you, just how strong can the Revenants really be? It’s not like they all get their own personal demon to channel.
I seem to recall that in lore there is just one of us. So there will only really be one Revenant running around (or well, two counting Rytlock).
