I love my mesmer…but I am frustrated at the idiotic way her talents/skills fire off. Definitely off-target.

I have had mine bounce of walls, trees, mosquitoes, bushes, you name it, anything but what I targeted or my target’s adds.

This is a major problem. I have no idea what I am running into when I fight anything with my mesmer. A grab bag of who knows what.

I found one in Metrica Provence just as you exit from Rata Sum into the lowbie area. I submitted it via the in-game bug report and hope the screen shot was applied.

I was in Southsun a few hours ago just harvesting Passiflora and had that pop up on my screen.

I was able to catch the screen shot but noticed it in my chat window. So I took that shot as well.

This is the type of dungeon GW2 needs more off. It’s very challenging, like a dungeon is meant to be. Now of course casuals are gonna hate it, and hardcore’s hopefully will appreciate this.

Now the only issue imo is that since this is temporary content only, the difficulty of it is unfair to casuals because they don’t have the readiness to complete such content in a short period of time. If it was permanent content I really believe that in time they would come to understand the mechanics of it and go on from there. Right now they will just try and rush it and fail miserably and not get to enjoy everything that has been given to them.

That is why there should be an easy and hard difficulty option. This way casuals can enjoy the content and hardcore players can too. Everybody wins!

Actually we have already heard from our guild mates that they intend to ignore this dungeon completely. Its too bad really, since many of them can actually do quite well in dungeons if they had the time to learn the mechanics without rushing through for the achievement.

These same guildies are just now doing fractals…and fractals have been in the game for quite some time now.

I think it’s a mistake to make such difficult content temporary. They can always bring it back later as a fractal and use fractal scaling to create a much more challenging difficulty.

Content that is only around for a couple of weeks, especially a group dungeon, should be easily accessible and able to be completed by everyone, especially when it’s a big part of the story.

The dungeon is basically fractal design, intended to be repeated and perfected multiple times by organised groups and tailored builds. Something like that shouldn’t be limited to a two week period.

As a casual player, I feel the dungeon setup can use a bit of adjustment. For instance: offer level of difficulties rather than just story or explorable. When I see the word “story” I think of something that is fun without a great deal of difficulty and “explorable” as, just that, some place to explore.

I hear a lot of my guild mates complaining about the imbalances and problems with the dungeons in the game as they are currently setup. But they really felt this “temporary” dungeon was beyond reason.

We have a lot of guildies who are not online very often or for very long when they do get online to play. To have something that is an easy mode (similar to the Wintersday or Super Adventure Box) would suit them just fine. Since this dungeon will go away in a few weeks, and for it to be so difficult for those folks, takes away the fun in guiding them through on a guild dungeon run.

I would really like to see this dungeon adjusted or have another option to tone it down so we can actually enjoy it.

I do not think you have to take difficulty away from those players who want it, but I do think offering something less intense for folks who are not that interested in difficulty but fun, would enhance the offerings.

My mistake! I made a tree spirit for the Heart of the Terebinth and must have inadvertently swapped all the normal oakhearts with the spirit version. :P

I really like them like that….nice change in my opinion.

I do wish it would NOT bounce to non-aggroed npcs at all. I do not wish to have moas, wasps, etc., to join in my fights unless I want to target them.

"AOE Loot on interact" not working

I had someone walk me through the process as he understood it (over mumble). What I found was not every time will the AOE loot work as it apparently is supposed to. I did not have any other interaction up (i.e., talk, search, etc.) and pressed my “F” which is the loot function as well as every other function in the entire game…this is not a very effective setup in my personal opinion.

However, once out of three tries it did work…not every time. So there appears to still be a problem with this. As for putting the loot on another key bind, that would make sense if “F” did not also cover “everything else” as well. That is a problem. Why can’t “AutoLoot & AOE Loot” be a separate key press from “F” instead of bound to “every other interaction” in this game?

I have “F” mapped to one of my mouse buttons for ease of use since I constantly spam it in fights to make sure I don’t miss something. This is frustrating since I’ve lost so many bags in WvW because I went into a downed state and was defeated with all my bags at my side and I cannot interact with them in that state. I’ve only had one or two actually follow me to the Way Point which I understand happens if a player you have tagged before you are defeated dies after you Way Point out.

Well it appears a lot of problems are still evident in this. My guild mates refuse to do this until they know that it has been fixed.

I agree with the consensus that NPCs should not be relied upon for completion of anything in this game. The AI for them is short a few fuses in the electric box that runs the NPCs in any of the instances.

"AOE Loot on interact" not working

I guess I just don’t understand the term “AOE” loot very well. I have it enabled, but I still have to stop at every single body/bag/chest and press “f” in order to loot each one. So my understanding is that AOE Loot pulls everything from that single bag into your inventory, but you have to interact with every single body/bag/chest around you in order to loot everything.

I really thought AOE Loot was so that you only had to interact with whatever was near you (within loot range) and ‘all’ loot belonging to you would go into your bag on one “f” press.

Ok, so it is not just me. I was running through there yesterday to open up my map. I decided to help this poor npc out and got swarmed. OMG…where did all those ghosts come from?

And that Vet…I could have taken him down by myself but for the insane number of adds. I no sooner killed one or two when 3-4 more showed up.

Needless to say I got whipped. Did not go back into that mess since I was unable to handle that mess. Reminded me of Cursed Shores area before they lowered the mob respawns.

Level 80 Mesmer: even with all my clones & Phantasm fighters helping out I was unable to make a dent in this horribly unbalanced mob setup.

This is definitely not balanced for a single player to manage even at level 80, not to mention level appropriate player. This really needs to be resolved as it leads to a way point along that wall.

Jeremiah, I think, if this is a game bug he has posted it in the correct thread in order to bring it to your and Anet’s attention to see why something that is this important seems to be disappearing.

As for obtaining reimbursement or return, I thought Anet indicated they could not do that? I hope I am wrong because I would be upset if I purchased something or earned something super only to find it gone without a trace and no way to get it back.

Getting stuck in/to siege

The last time I got stuck in siege, I could not even see my character for all the equipment and other players all over the area. I could not break loose from it until the fighting was over. I was killed and ended up way pointing out, so I too have experienced being stuck and not being able to break loose.

Only time will tell….I’ll see how it goes after the patch. Unfortunately, I do not hold out much hope since this bounce issue has been a problem for a longer time than I care to contemplate. I shudder whenever I run around because I have no idea what or who will join me unexpectedly.

I have, however, attempted to account for that while running around opening up the map. I tried to position myself LOS for all but one npc mob and tonight I actually saw it work in my favor. Only problem is I lose my buffs and my conditions application is horrible. I can not depend on anything working correctly so I just ignore it. But it feels as though I am under a handicap whenever I play my Mesmer.

I have gotten better managing my Mesmer combat with my GS…love the GS. Not quite as comfortable with the staff which, in my opinion, seems to be better suited to a group than solo.

I have switched out my scepter for a sword and am happy with that change, keeping my focus for the darned speed that I need all the time. I feel like I am running in quick sand all the time. I do wish we could obtain a sigil only for speed that we could add to our gear/jewelery/weaponry. It is so frustrating to have to “fight” for my speed on my Mesmer when all my other character seem to have endless speed all the time effortlessly.

That uncontrollable bounce to odd non-aggroed npc is a problem all the time. Last night I was in WvWvW with some guild mates and we were doing skirmishes all over the place, then all of a sudden in the middle of some of the skirmishes, moas decided to join in the fray. Our group leader was kind enough to mention I had invited some unexpected guests to our party. lol

I took a lot of teasing from that and do wish this bounce issue to be fixed.

Story loading screen problem

I was doing the “Eye of the Sun” story a few hours ago and ran into a major problem with the loading screen. I waited about 5-10 seconds and was about to close my game client out when it finally loaded in so I could do the story.

Is this a recent problem? I did not have this problem on my first character but have major issues on my second character on the stories and such.

I’ve even noticed a lag between key press and actual skill fire-off..so something is not working.

In the space of half an hour I had two client lost connection issues and one Black Lion Trading post problem. It seems the connection issues are still happening and when I got thrown into overflow in LA I experienced some lag.

I went up to the Moa Races and traveled from overflow when offered that option. Several minutes after I did that I was trying to sell something on the TP only to get an empty pop up box which showed my items but nothing else.

Something is definitely going on but I do not have any idea what is causing all these problems. Prior to the Karka Queen event in Southsun I did not experience many issues. Ever since that implementation I have experienced major lag, game disconnect and/or client losing connection errors.

Anet needs to re-balance Karka queen as well, she is basically un-killable now with the few people that show up in Southsun.

This seems to follow the same line as other “world bosses” in that they don’t seem to scale according to the number of players actually engaging them.

I do wish Anet would balance that out much better than it is now. As it is, I am not about to attempt the Karka Queen all by myself and my clones with no one else around. None of the NPCs show up to help and Southsun is as deserted now as it was just before that story opened up.

In my opinion, to make the Karka Queen permanent would work just fine if it only scaled for the amount of players actually engaging her in combat. Obviously me and my clones don’t make an army…lol

Your experienced is not that different than what mine was. I have taken only one of my characters all the way through to the Arah Story dungeon to complete the line.

I do NOT plan on doing that again on any of my other characters due to all the awful bugs and issues I experienced and heard of from other players in any of the other story lines. Once is quite enough, thank you very much.

If all the story lines did NOT merge near the end to follow the exact same line (with only minor choices), I would play them all. It is not only monotonous and boring but full of holes and wacky bugs that show up one time but not the next, only to have a different bug instead. I list no specifics because they already have been mentioned by other players throughout the bug forums.

I even got tired of submitting bug reports from inside the game as I never really saw an appreciable difference until a patch came out (many without notations on what was fixed). But I never did find out if any of the multiple attempts I made before success actually were fixed due to a patch either.

When I logged into the game last evening, after a small download, I had a mail with my wings in it. My achievement panel had been adjusted and I noticed it was fixed.

I have seen about 4 different characters with the Anet tag over the past several months. The most obvious times were during the recent Karka Queen event in Southsun and Tuesday evening standing in Lion’s Arch near the NPC that sends you into the solo instance.

I did not note the names of the characters but they appear to be higher level just like the rest of us.

Dragon Bash Experience achievement bugged?

Hi everyone,

We’re aware of the issue and have been working on a fix that we hope to push at the beginning of next week.

This post was four days ago and it is now Wednesday morning. I finished 8 of my achievements but the Dragon Bash Achievement Panel still shows it as incomplete. So apparently the fix has not been implemented yet. I thought it would be fixed by today at least.

My mouse sporadically drops out for a few seconds and comes back. There is a thread about wireless mouses out there somewhere, but I’m certain you’re not having that issue.

There is a “known” bug that occurs randomly though, where your mouse will still be present, still interacts with the UI, but stops interacting with the environment. It tends to occur right after zoning or using a waypoint, but can really start anytime. The only fix is to restart the client.isthat what you have Lyn?

We had a thread about that some time ago, but nothing came of it. I’ve also posted several in-game reports.

It doesn’t occur as often for me now, but does still once a month or so.

Yes, that sounds familiar. I am using a wired mouse because the wireless seems to lag behind game play a lot. However, my mouse stopped working for me the other day right after I logged into the game. So I closed out the game client and restarted it …mouse worked fine then.

An hour or so later after I had zoned, I was able to interact with an npc but within a few moments mouse stopped working completely. Since I was fighting some of those holo mobs, I just tab targeted to finish the fight with. But could not use any of my ground targeting at all since the mouse stopped.

This is really annoying and usually occurs when you least expect it. Due to this issue, I always double check my mouse interaction before I start anything any more. I hate being in the middle of something and need to use my ground targeting only to have it fail because the mouse turned into a wired lump of electronics in my hand that was useless to in-game activity at that point.

This problem has occurred since launch and I have no idea why it happens. I have a Razer Naga Hex mouse which actually is new. However, even my old Death Adder mouse did this too.

I’ll be happily running through the game, targeting and interacting with npcs, mobs and the like when all of a sudden the mouse just does not work. I’ve died a few times because of this problem and can’t figure out why it happens.

The only thing that fixes it is to log out of the game and back into the game. I would really appreciate it if someone could explain why this happens.

Shouldn’t you be able to export it as a text (txt) file? I just can’t remember I avoid windows like the plague when I can lol.

Tried that but it was unreadable…just a bunch of odd characters.

I am of the opinion that there is piece of code in the new content that seems to be conflicting with my current system setup. I’ve run my registry clean up and found a few items that needed to be removed.

My next step will be to reinstall my graphic drivers because this week good old Microsoft provided me with some Windows updates. These ALWAYS cause issues and are a pain, but I found if I do a clean reinstall of my graphic drivers, most if not all, graphic glitches go away.

I don’t think game code likes Microsoft code either. You would think there would be some common ground to allow them to work together… lol

Anet seems determined to grind out new game content over fixing any bugs as far as I can see. I’ve been keeping up on the Mesmer one and just decided to stop reporting what I already reported months ago, not to mention other players actually offering up videos showing the bugs.

But we have new content almost every month… So new content seems to be winning the race with the accountants that pay Anet’s bills, along with new gem store content to earn more profit for the investors.

All of that will fall into a sink hole sooner or later due to poor decisions on spending to support development teams to fix things in the game from launch that still are “bugs.”

mmm “Glassdoor Review”…interesting to see all the different opinions listed there. One thing seems to be consistent from what I read and that is the fact that there seems to be poor internal communications between all the necessary teams to make adjustments or corrections to game content.

As in all good business models, team effort with positive and open door communications is imperative to make sure your business product survives and is a viable, long-term product folks will want to purchase for a long time. Lacking effective communication and cooperation creates a problem in that good ideas and problem fixes get thrown under the bus.

Well, last night I experienced a bona fide game crash. What’s even more interesting is I found a “Crash.dmp” file in my GW2 game folder.

Dragon Bash Pinatas

This evening while running through LA I hit up all the pinatas I could find, just to see if the download this evening fixed this problem.

As far as I could tell it did. Not only did I only have to hit the pinatas once, but there were two other folks who ran up to it at the same time I did and all three of us got our pinata without problems.

Game freeze - Crash.dmp file ???

My game crashed just a few moments ago. I had just taken the Asura gate to Rata Sum and was going through the Asura Gate to the newbie area, but never made it. As I stepped into the portal, the game froze, a error report box opened up where I clicked to send the report to Anet then it closed without providing an error number or text.

I checked my GW2 directory and found a Crash.dmp file that corresponded to the time/date of the crash = 6-13-2013 10:53pm (EST).

Can’t upload the file because of the following:

3 Errors Prevented Saving:

Messages is invalid
Forumattachments is invalid
File You are not allowed to upload “dmp” files, allowed types: [“jpg”, “jpeg”, “gif”, “png”, “txt”, “log”]

Edit: I was able to save the message but not able to attach the .dmp file.

Anet please fix this major bug, its causing big problems with Mesmers staff #1 and greatsword #2 having the extra bounces bounce off clones and non aggroed mobs.

I love my mesmer but am extremely irritated that Anet has not fixed this bounce problem. I am getting tired of fighting everything else in the area due to this stupid bouncing. It has even pulled in a champion I was not targeting and thought I was far enough away from.

Dragon Bash Pinatas

Pinatas issue apparently is not fixed. I had three of them disappear, heard the sound on one and saw confetti in two of them, but did not get credit for any of them.

Someone else hit one earlier this evening at the same time I did but I did not get credit for it either even though I hit it a second prior to them.

Please fix these.

If Obsidian Shards operate like most other collections, have you checked the special collections tab for them? I’ve found some new tabs added to my collections way off to the side where I never expected them to be located.

Otherwise, you may want to open a Customer Service ticket for this issue.

I logged out a little over an hour ago right after the WvW went down. No one knew what was happening and everyone was just speculating.

The fact that the message IDs matches being updated is sorta like calling a pig’s ear a silk purse. The message displayed appears to be the only one they use for any time down for WvW that I can see…at least I’ve not seen any other used. I’ve seen a message splashed saying a new build was coming but not a different WvW down message.

it would help if they used a different message depending upon what they are doing. I suspect the really are trying to fix something and are having a problem if it is still down.

What the devs use we regular players probably could not afford to purchase. Explains why they cannot reproduce some issues to try and troubleshoot.

It would also help if they offered better information since every time they implement a fix patch or more content, new bugs are introduced in the game and breaks old problems again.

Well currently i found out that my ssd .. was a bit of a ripoff at about $1 per gb, so that baby is goin back to bestbuy, and ill shop around a bit more. (also, the registry nuke has adware with it.. and has hidden itself. joy.)

Well, I’ve had two more of these episodes over the past 3 hours; I’ve also had major lag and game freeze that have lasted at least 5 – 7 seconds before losing server connection (only no error message popped up this last time), only to find myself looking at the character selection screen.

I’ve also noticed a problem with the sound ping ponging to the point that it seemed like the sound in the game was matching the lag spikes. Odd.

I’ve also noticed that there is no dev response to this. I have posted in-game bug reports as well as on this forum.

I really want to see someone from Anet at least acknowledge they have read these comments and are investigating.

Another game client disconnect

This is getting ridiculous. I started running over to where the Kara Queen was spawned. On the way ran into a vet karka and we all froze in time….the Vet Karka was just bouncing forward/backward like he was spewing out his eggs….and all my skills on my 1-5 hot keys kept firing off but nothing happened.

Then lost game connection. This is ridiculous.

The only time I’ve ever seen this to work correctly is if that person is actually in my Friends list.

They also have a problem with not receiving enough funds from NCsoft to make these changes.

^^ this…I agree with totally. In most large companies (regardless of product), folks who make the money decisions are not necessarily in the active tier of day-to-day worker bees creating and fixing content; or even in direct contact with their actual customer base.

So many high level suits just are not aware of how their decisions impact the customer base. All they see is they need to increase the profit margin.

This is not a bad thing unless it negatively impacts the quality of the product they are producing. Short sheet your development teams you short sheet your product to customers = customers leave because they see no improvement.
