Things You Hate Seeing Other Mesmer Do?

Hrm…

- I hate when Mesmers approach class changes through a singular, “tunnel-visioned” lens (usually PvP or WvW), and they forget there is a third mode of play (PvE). cough Scepter cough

- I hate when certain Mesmers achieve the rank of arrogance that some display on these forums daily. You may call them “experts.” The real word is “arrogant” or “pompous.”

- I hate when Mesmers act like know-it-alls.

- I hate when Mesmers contradict themselves.

- I hate how much animosity there is between PvP/WvW Mesmers and PvE Mesmers.

- I hate when Mesmers cry for Mesmer nerfs because they want to preempt the other classes crying for Mesmer nerfs.

- I hate when Mesmers are scared of being damage dealers. Any buff that increases damage, they immediately call OP, and say ArenaNet needs to nerf it.

- I hate how PvP/WvW Mesmers look condescendingly on PvE Mesmers. Just because you enjoy one game mode over the other does not make you better than those who enjoy the opposite mode.

- I hate arrogant Mesmers.

The reason there’s so much animosity is because PvP is full of autistic tryhards who think their game mode is the only challenging game mode when they would probably eat the floor trying to do challenging PvE content, or run stupid PvP builds and pewpew with a GS from 5,000 range.

And then you get the PvE autistics who think most of the dungeons actually take skill to do when you can just roll your face over keys and everything dies (gj ferocity, you made AC brain-afk).

And then you get the WvW speds who think PvE is just braindead zerging, and then stick them in Arah and they’d sit there dead the entire dungeon.

There’s bad people on all sides, but the smug PvPers and WvWers really drive me up the wall, because monkey rolling around trying to dodge deadly skills with zero or barely any choreograph is clearly skill, and hoping to get lucky and not get eaten alive by something stupid which has absolutely jack all for tells.

Alrighty, lets see here:
Any PU Mesmer that is arrogant and a jerk.
Anyone that uses staff terribly and as chaos said, just kiting.
Using Greatsword, as Chaos said, as a faceroll weapon.
Any person that thinks Mesmer is an easy class to play (most thieves say this).
Anyone that doesn’t use sword to its full potential, even after the ileap nerf.
Anyone that doesn’t use shatters, even in a phantasm build.
Any Mesmer that doesn’t think outside the box and make their own build to be happy with their playstyle (or help make someone a build, like I do with Chaos/Aeoldyn)
Anyone that plays a interrupt build and spams all of their interrupts on nothing.
Any person that thinks Mesmer is useless in wvw, just because they don’t have aoe doesn’t mean they aren’t useful.
Anyone that uses Portal incorrectly.
Finally, any Mesmer that plays PU condi after patch as their main build, as that build will be cancer.

God forbid people realise their playstyles are suboptimal and decide to use a better build instead.

I love all of this indirect and direct froth towards meta-builds, it’s like it’s “cool” to hate the best builds in this game.

How Many people regularly pug?

When I was playing often (6 months ago or so), I got to the point where pugs were more fun. DnT runs were great of course, and I ran with other forum regulars fairly often. But those runs were so fast and mechanical, they had no feeling of danger, there was no chance of death. Pugging in Arah is more dangerous than solo. It’s fun trying to keep them all alive on skips. They also act as adds for lupi, giving him grubs and making him do undesirable things and the like.

Nobody ever agrees with me when I say pugging is the true test of skill.

Just think, you have an entire dungeon full of four uncontrollable variables, and depending on RNG they can either be helpful or completely detrimental.

Like, soloing is literally easier than pugging because you have control of basically everything.

Even though I used to like Arah and have a full armor set I stay clear of there now. I want to learn stuff through play rather than from the web but I can’t imagine Arah PUGs ever being kind to me while I learn to melee Lupi.

And why should they?

I’ve sat at Lupicus with students for like two whole hours, and even then I start to get burned out at that point. Now you’re expecting four random pugs to just restart the fight over and over for you to practice when they just want their dailies?

I don’t think you are supposed to play everything by memory or luck (its not prediction because the lack of mindgames).

The only time luck is ever relevant is when rolling boss RNG for solo recordings or dungeon records. Anything beyond that you can overcome through mastery of your class and the encounter. I don’t see why playing by memory is bad, is learning tells supposed to be a bad thing? Is me taking double healer and double tanky DPS w/fire resistance “not intended” when killing high dragons in dragon age? like … I don’t even.

At this point PvE cannot be balanced for anyone that did the same thing more than once.

Sure it can. If you’re lazy on 3-headed wurm you won’t get very far, you have to be organised no matter how many times you do it. Even Tequatl requires a semi-organised server. They’re balanced around being done multiple times. High level fractals pose a challenge no matter how many times you do them, you can’t entirely brain-afk arah either.

In GW2 you come out of the dungeon experience and know next to nothing about how the combat system works, because it rarely bothered to ask you anything other than one achingly stupid question.

I learned my classes and combat system all through dungeons.

PvP is just little asuras running around casting hard hitting skills with basically zero choreograph forcing players to just monkey roll around hope they get lucky on their dodge.

No good sir, that was an earthshaker, not a dodge. Now prepare to have your face kicked in because this game’s PvP has stupid nonexistent choreographs on skills that can hit like a train.

This problem still exists in PvE to an extent (screw asura anything bosses), but you tend to fight more monsters or scaled up humanoids which allows them to have clearer tells.

Reconsider greatsword damage nerf

in Warrior

Posted by: maha.7902

maha.7902

As much as it may hurt warriors with this nerf, I don’t see it being a major issue.
Will DPS be down a bit? Yes. Will speed clears take a bit longer? Yup. Will Beserker GS meta no longer be viable? Nope not in the slightest. The same things were said about the change to ferocity and beserker gear nerf. Beserker GS warriors were supposed to disappear, and a new meta was supposed to arise out of their ashes like some sort of phoenix. As it is now, after the ferocity change, beserker gear change, and the rune changes (that were also supposed to make beserker warriors obsolete) beserker GS warrior is still arguably still the highest DPS in the game. Lowering this ~5% with the GS isn’t going to change that.

So aside from a few extra seconds to dungeon run, which probably won’t be noticed much unless you are timing for a record or something, nothing will really change. Things will continue on as normal, and beserker warriors will rule the world.

This change will not so anything to the status quo in either pve, wvw or pvp. In this case, why even nerf it? I get my kicks out of pushing how high I can push my hundred blades and now it’s getting nerfed FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON.

Now they make it possible to dodge and blind clone death traits, and reduce the intensity and duration of one of the procs. The best bit is because such a tiny portion of the player base is mesmers they won’t even revert it because we don’t have enough QQ to bring down a castle like the rest of the QQmmunity.

No.

Also they sould remove any kind of ways that allow certain classes to solo certain dungeons.
Dungeons is supposed to be group content, if you can’t do it on a group you don’t do it. This game already feels a lot like single-player mode, no need to improve that single-player even further.

(Plus, even if this was the greatest idea ever and recognized by Anet that should me implemented ASAP, you would have to way for the feature patch of 2016)

Why?

Why should I not be allowed to solo instances?

Because you said so? Because you think dungeons should only be performed by groups?

What about my desire to hone my skills and actually challenge myself?

Yeaaaaaaah. No.

Things like Brie when you get out of combat, it’s not like I have an option, the boss just stay there and do nothing.

You don’t get out of combat. And the mechanic require you to leave. No problem there. (Belka? Why do you expect them to take you serious when you don’t even do it yourself?)

Originally deleted this (twice) because it felt overly aggressive and accusative.

Spot the difference.

tldr: don’t be lazy. why even give them an excuse?

Yes I meant when you move out of the bubble to kill the monsters :P not out of combat. And I stopped glitching Belka a couple weeks ago, not really much harder to kill it legit once you bother trying.

Doing Belka “normally” isn’t really harder, it’s just extremely irritating. That’s why people glitch her.

Losing control of your character is the most annoying thing possible for a player, and Belka knocks you back approximately every 12 seconds. It’s not fun in the slightest.

The updates themselves aren’t bad.

The problem is that ArenaNet is so focused on QoL improvements rather than actually adding content, that we’re reaching a point where everything is easily accessible, user friendly and convenient, but that the “everything” itself is just old, stale content.

Making old content less tedious is nice, but the changes need to be supplemented with new content.

Now you can argue that the Living Story is new content, but I see it basically as DLC – and while DLC works in singleplayer games (say, a 30-hour RPG with a 2 1/2 hour DLC is fine), when you’re making 2-hour DLC for a game where players will spend hundreds, if not thousands of hours playing … the content itself is just so negligible it’s pretty much a waste of resources. If they channeled the resources instead in to replayable content (new WvW map which actually effects match-up scores, the fatal flaw in EotM, new PvP maps, new PvP modes, dungeons, fractals, world bosses, PvE maps, etc.) then people wouldn’t be complaining anywhere near as much.

Now I actually enjoyed the latest two LS updates (going from the PS where the voice acting is like two animated bricks talking to each other in cutscenes) and the more assertive role of the player character is nice (though at the same time made clear that they’re simply a major player among other major players, i.e. the world leaders rather than Mr Badarse of Badarseington like what Bioware games tend to do) … but it’s too short. It’s not challenging either.

Who cares about a slight nerf to do PvE?

I love the condescension dripping from this.

I don’t know, maybe PvE players?

Q: Will this affect your speed clears?
A: No

“I want to clear this dungeon as fast as possible and now I deal less damage.”

Does this affect speed clears? Well of course it does, genius.

Q: Will this affect your effectiveness to run dungeons/fractals?
A: No

“I want to clear this dungeon as fast as possible and now I deal less damage.”

I deal less damage. Therefore I am less efficient.

I understand your frustration with having a nerf to your class/build but this is honestly a step in the right direction for Warriors.

“It’s a step in the right direction because I said so”.

No, it isn’t. Bad in PvP, balanced in PvE, balanced in WvW. And yet they nerf the damage of two of the skills. Because clearly if they kept that 5% GS would be overpowered and format warping.

To be honest I disagree with this nerf to base damage on warrior greatsword. This nerf feel totally off. What make GS strong is a combination of traits and especially 1 trait which is forcefull greatsword.
This is the one and only trait in game that provide might on crit without ICD. Just Add a 1 second ICD to this trait, without touching to GS base damage and PvE GS warrior will be balanced.

It’s already balanced. Sticking an ICD on Forceful Greatsword basically means “delete your greatsword and never use it again”. The use of the weapon in PvE has an enormous reliance on this trait.

How is GS not balanced, by the way? It makes a big number but does DPS on par with other classes regardless of this big number, so where is the issue?

Do you know the significance of 80% critrate? It’s the critrate at which Fury from a party pushes you into 100%. Under full mightbuffing conditions, also the max damage possible output from a direct damage mesmer. Any critrate above 80% is wasted, any critrate below 80% is a dps loss. All of the max damage per second configurations are based on optimising for 80%, merely that warriors and thieves can achieve it even with a full berserker set from traits. Groups not capable of reaching max buff conditions do not ever need to consider min/max calculations, since it’s entirely irrelevant.

Except you completely ignored the precision from banner of discipline, which is where your whole post falls apart. GG.

Also, using berserker on necros when they have no melee cleave or using it on rangers which barely breaks 1 mult/s as opposed to the 1.5-1.7 typical of most classes…

Bosses are single target. Why do you need to cleave?

And you use it on ranger because condition DPS caps at like 7k, while berserker rangers can do about ~11.5k. Even higher post-patch.

Berserker is Power/Precision/Ferocity, and a full set of it tends to be the best damage potential for most classes, while having little survivability. The exceptions to this rule are Rangers which do better in Dire,

In PvE, still berserker or assassin on rangers. Rabid if soloing works nice though.

Necros which do better in Rabid

Same again. Rabid can work solo, but berserker otherwise.

Mesmers who do better in ‘enough Assassin to reach 80% critrate’ and then ‘Berserker for all other slots’. Most people don’t mention the exceptions though.

That just sounds like a completely made-up percentage. The general rule for mesmers is assassin if soloing or in heavy reflect group situations, berserker otherwise. Strictly running one or the other tends to be fine too.

Most people don’t mention the exceptions though.

Most people don’t mention your exceptions because they were either wrong or given zero context.

I’m actually pretty happy with the current Melandru. If you don’t really know what you’re doing you’ll basically just eat dirt 99% of the time, and you can’t even afk range it because of the pressure from gorillas and fauna, but if you know what’s up you can melee it.

1) it matters for:
-distortion
-giving targets to some bosses
-defiant stripping
-signet heal

Bosses basically never target clones. And you can fully strip a boss of defiant in decent time without use of distortion. Sword 4 has a low cooldown, traiting harmonious mantras gives you three charges of daze too.

2) you can t Always stack……try to pug fractals 40+ and tell me how often you see stacking.

I’ve done high level fractals with people who aren’t “elite” and we can stack things just fine.

3) sword+GS is more cripple+immob.
You need that

Not really. There’s exceptions like Mossman and Archdiviner, but cripple isn’t overly important, especially not to take greatsword.

4) experience more with GS and you’ll learn maybe
I would agree on CoE…. and easy stuff like that.
But there is way more in the game
For example you can push+pull the same target for long distance….Aetherpath without the guardian corner “tactic” is an example where a single mesmer makes the difference.

I literally can’t think of any example you’d want to pull and push a target. This is ignoring the fact that pushing forces you to sit on a low DPS weapon the next 10 seconds.

5) i love dunegon pros with unlimited evades and without level 49isntability

Everyone is fallible, but you can still melee bosses with a pretty high success rate.

I knew some players using the “camping with GS” excuse.
They usually can only copy youtube run videos, and judge a player by its equip rather by what he does.

Except it’s people like me who are the ones making the youtube run videos. You can tell a lot by what a player has equipped, for example if a warrior zones in with sword+axe get ready to have a complete dead weight on your team.

I’m glad i created this thread and i can pretty much summ this up like this:
There are two kind of ppl :
1. Who says you can melee anything and GS is almost useless.
2. Who says GS can BE useful as a secondary weapon.
Honestly i hate the first type of ppl i just described, since 90% of the players are average and they even bully everyone if they do only 1 thing wrong.

If you didn’t want to be told the truth then why make the thread? You don’t need GS, but you want to use it. If you want to use it, go ahead. Nobody is stopping you. If you want to be efficient, then you’re going to have to give it up.

I’m pretty sure they can be interrupted (their heal) through defiant unless they made a stealth “fix” to it.

Between people applying cripple and chill on the bosses for no reason to AI causing them to stop and attack (yay Mesmers!), it’s really a lot more effort than it’s worth.

The boss is either trying to attack you, making cripple and chill irrelevant, or they’re trying to chase someone else and the cripple and chill makes it easier to pursue them yourself.

Additionally, you’re spending a lot more effort to do no more damage than you would get for being on a Greatsword

Well sure, if you want to condemn yourself to mediocrity then go ahead and make no effort to better your gameplay. If I wanted to brain afk bosses I would do world bosses, when I do instances I pull my weight.

and you’ll most likely want to be clearing his Defiance which is a pain to do in PuGs.

….I don’t see how this is relevant in the range vs. melee argument. If anything, melee is better because the extra CC on OH pistol and OH sword allows you better control of defiant. If you expect PUGs to smash interrupts you can just bring the boss down to 1 stack then do two CCs at once (daze mantra, pistol 5 or sword 4) to interrupt a skill before the pugs do anything stupid.

Of course if you’re in a dedicated group, do whatever you want. I don’t care. I’m just saying, most of the time, it’s more effective/efficient to just sit back and be a total n00bcake.

It’s less brain intensive to sit back. If I’m going to be doing two year old content I’d rather actually have fun doing it and challenging myself rather than brain afk pewpew.

YMMV, but I’m still not seeing a reason not to melee besides sheer laziness or unwillingness.

As for the Dredge boss, if you melee him, he will most likely stop to attack you, causing him to not run to the next oil pit,

He has a debuff. When it flickers, make your way to the next oil.

The DPS gain you get for going melee on a Sword is non-existent because you’re not in the party “buff range” which is one of the main reasons for running Sword

If your party is ranging, I think it’s safe to assume they won’t even be buffing each other, so you don’t lose anything.

Additionally, since you have to keep managing your position and the bosses position + animations, you end up putting in a lot of work for no dps gain

> blurred frenzy or dodge dredge suit stab attacks
> feedback bombs
> blurred frenzy ground pound

OR

> get behind ice ele when doing ice cone attack
> dodge away when doing PbAoE agony attack
> dodge or frenzy stalactite AOEs

…. it’s not rocket science.

It definitely is possible to melee nearly everything, but it’s not always practical. Mossman it can be practical to melee if you know the fight well, but Dredge isn’t practical at all.

Dredge is entirely practical to melee, get out of your comfort zone, suck it up if you die and just learn it. obal has videos if you don’t know what the tells are.

I agree with Kirito. You don’t want to camp Greatsword. It should never be your go-to camp weapon. The only time I will camp on my Greatsword is if it’s a ranged fight where I have 3 Phantasms up (typically 2 Duelists 1 Berserker). Otherwise, I run S/S + F and run melee.

All the fractal fights where you want to use Greatsword:
Molten BOSS Fractal if your group doesn’t want to melee the Berserker. Ask before you enter boss pit.
Grawl Lava Fractal (Both boss fights), rotate between Sword + Pistol (if vs Grawl) or Sword + Focus (if vs Elemental).
Dredge Fractal (final boss fight), rotate between Sword + Pistol and Greatsword. Use Feedback if vs Dredge or slot a Mantra for more personal DPS if vs Elemental.
Mossman, what I do is jump onto the house (or tree) and spawn 3 Duelists, then camp Greatsword or rotate onto Sword and Blurred Frenzy.
Ascalon Boss, Greatsword to fight his Greatsword for all the Greatswordy Greatswordness.
Cliffside Boss fights.

But, for the most part, I don’t use a Greatsword. Those examples I just listed although plentiful, don’t make up the majority of the run.

You 100% do not need greatsword in dredge fractal final boss (just watch for the tells and dodge/block/reposition). Mossman I don’t like triple duelists because wardens and curtain can reflect the dancing dagger so I prefer melee sets there. Cliffside, no way. Mesmer is next to warrior in level of forgiveness for meleeing archdiviner. Hell, you can solo melee archdiviner even in ranging pugs thanks to low cooldown evades, blocks and vigour – in my experience I normally get dumped on by the adds rather than the boss.

Everything else I’ve always melee’d, but in melee groups so I’d have no idea what the berserker or ashym are like solo melee. Meleeing imbued shaman isn’t too bad either, even if everyone else is ranging because of the survivability of mesmer.

I haven’t even got sigils on my greatsword that’s how little I use it.

Aetherpath - Real reasons it flopped.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: maha.7902

The reason it flopped is because it strictly requires co-ordination, simple as.

Get a group of five random fools together and expecting them to co-ordinate without voice communications, a willingness to even communicate via party chat and the internet being devoid of video guides and there being no “common knowledge” pug strategies is basically impossible.

It’s what explorables were originally meant to be – something an organised group will clear but if you lack that, well you won’t clear it. The problem is the rewards for it don’t justify the challenge – and the fact that it takes like half an hour to complete for 2g, tokens and 0.000000000001% chance to get a skin is also why people don’t bother.

Think of it like Arah p4, except with a bunch of unskippable cutscenes. It’s like a black hole for pug tactics so nobody bothers with it, there’s barely any footage of it, and what footage there is is stuff performed by high-end guilds doing things you’ll never get in a pug.

With the announcement that there is basically zero chance of getting new group instanced content I’m just conflicted. I love this game, I really do. The combat is the best of any rpg I have ever played, it was my first MMO (and the idea of playing something with a trinity level of interdependence honestly pains me because of enjoying the whole solo concept so much; if you know a fight well enough you can pull your weight and deal with it yourself than having to wait for a tank/healer) and the game oozes potential. But ArenaNet finally gave us the closure we needed. We will not get a hard mode, we will not be getting any major changes or new content any time soon, and just like that, the glimmer of hope I had was extinguished. I don’t want to say I’m quitting because the gameplay pulls me in so well, but I feel like it just makes more sense to cut my play time because … nothing is going to change. It pains me seeing the direction they’re taking with the game – but they’re just doing what makes the most financial sense. Maybe it’s time to move on.

Do you want to know why ArenaNet don’t like promising things?

It’s because of people like you who will cling on to things like this, not let them go and hold it against them.

So thank you for being one of the people responsible for making them sever contact with us regarding their intentions.

I’m seriously laughing at the people saying dungeons will suddenly become fun now that FGS is nerfed. Guys, the mechanics are still the same.

If anything already boring encounters will only become even more awful…

FGS barely made them tolerable.

The mechanics are still the same, and now without Fiery Greatsword you’ll actually have to learn them.

Yeah I mean there’s still icebow. It’s no where near fgs, but for fractals that 4 is great for the structures (ice, bloom, molten tests, molten duo, maw life steal, anomaly, ascalon, etc)

Frost bow is op as all hell. Better than fgs IMO since you don’t have to get targets to a corner/wall. Won’t be long before the qqers start on that. It also has that freeze attack.

Frost bow isn’t that special on small or medium targets but people just like to spam it on everything because lolfrostbow.

It’s honestly not even an issue.

No, looking down =/= elitism. If I do a world event and whine about ‘casuals’, that doesn’t make me elitist, it’s called condescension or snobbery. An example of elitism are world event guilds jumping megaservers to get a good teq/wurm/pavilion instance that won’t be leeched by less motivated players because they want to play with like minded individuals and will exclude others in order to do so. Your only goal was to make a snide remark towards players who actually have any sort of skill and don’t understand why people are complaining about the LS difficulty. Whether they express their confusion condescendingly or whatever is not the point, the point is you are misusing a buzz word as you don’t know what it means, but since it has a negative connotation to it you felt sure, I’ll just throw it in at this group of people I dislike. And then calling me one too? Stay classy, I didn’t know teaching players how to run dungeons and not caring what build/gear people used constituted elitism, but YMMV.

You’re throwing this word “elitist” around.

I don’t think you actually know what it means.

I know exactly what it means, regardless of whether I’m precisely referencing the official definition or using it more as slang. In this case, I’m talking about video game elitists – players who think they are better than other people (like better as a person) because their skill level is higher.

Essentially, any variation on players with an above-average skill level (real or perceived) looking down on people whose skill level (real or perceived) is average or below-average.

So maybe it’s best you review the definition, cause I’m not sure you know what it means.

Elitism is the exclusion of others from your group due to your belief in your own group’s superiority. What you’re referring to as elitists are players who are more skilled than your average zergling expressing their confusion at people being unable to complete and/or complaining about the LS instance(s), not ‘elitists’. So how about you stop throwing the word around when it doesn’t apply? It’s an overused buzz word by angry forum goers on the same level as words like ‘toxic’ – they have no meaning at this point, people just throw them around when somebody says something they disagree with, which is exactly what you just did.

So I want to open this up with the note that I have four legendaries, don’t care about crafting and think their prices are perfectly fine – they’re how much people are willing to pay.

Anyway.

A lot of people complain that precursors need a better way to be obtained and mention crafting. So what are their ideas on this? What materials would you need? Spades and spades of t6? Account-bound materials obtained through certain actions?

I’m just curious – enlighten me.

It’s less about when gamers started playing but rather when they were born/how they were raised. Typically people born mid-late 90s and up were/are part of the “everyone’s a winner, there are no losers” generation. Nobody was/is allowed to feel bad for not being as good as someone else in anything. They were/are raised to be extra sensitive and that if you hit an obstacle you can’t overcome, it isn’t because of you or your skills because you are perfect just the way you are, rather it’s because that obstacle isn’t accessible enough to everyone’s wide range of skills and thus needs to be changed or able to be bypassed so that no one feels like they are failing.

That’s why with this boss fight, the ones that have failed it don’t think to themselves “hmm, maybe I need to re-think my strategy here”, they think “wow, that boss is waay too hard, they need to fix it!”

Dunno when OP was born, but I would venture to guess mid-90s or later.

This is all hypothetical of course, I’ve done no research.

It’s an interesting theory, but I think the mid-late 90s generation wouldn’t be complaining about this sort of thing because they’re the ones who are more likely to have been born with a controller in their hands – experts at video games at a young age, simply because of the exposure.

Personally, I think the crowd most likely to complain about this stuff (for its difficulty) are the 30+ people with families and jobs who play games as a low-intensity hobby, some of whom may have the potential to kick the kitten out of the elitists but simply don’t have the time to hone that level of expertise.

Granted, sometimes having all the time in the world will not make a mediocre player into an expert, but that’s just how life works with any activity.

You’re throwing this word “elitist” around.

I don’t think you actually know what it means.

“PHIW” is playing suboptimally because you prefer a certain way – but at the cost of a faster clear time.

My impression is that Miku Lawrence dislikes the current state of things but abides to it because it’s simply the best. I dislike the current state of things so I’ve abstained from doing dungeons with the guild because they’re doing things I’m vehemently opposed to (extensive use of overpowered conjures).

Expressing your opposition of an oppressively powerful weapon is not “PHIW”, it’s expressing an opinion.
