Line of Warding vs Shield of Absorption vs Shield of Wrath
Line of warding has limited use in fights. But it is an absolute winner when it comes to succesfully skipping foes if you know the dungeon well.
Shield of absorption. This one has no use in skipping, no use against bosses so is only slightly usefull against trashmobs you are actually killing.
Shield of Wrath: Blocking the attacks is usefull but only for yourself (if stacked up it still only blocks for yourself). In most fights it will get destroyed, but if it doesnt the damage is significant.
Just because the limited use of other effects of line of warding, I give shield of wrath the win on this one.
So all in all, on each individual skill the staff scores actually pretty good. on the first 3 skills a skilled staffuser can be more effective then a skilled scepteruser. The amount of playerskill needed is however higher (and prolly the reason it has such a bad name in your view). For the final two skills, empowerment is a winner (if timed so it doesnt interfere with others).
Also the two alternatives are not better when it comes to the combination of those two skills.
Also keep in mind that the use of a ranged weapon is for those situations where it is hard to stay melee. You switch over when it is going badly. So it is good to have a weapon that is actually helping the party up instead of down.
Due to the limited range I do agree that staff is not optimum in all situations. There are fights where you need a lot of mobility. In those situations I always anticipate and will bring a scepter focus so im not that limited to range. (AC p1 endboss, and HotW p1 endboss comes in mind).
But as my main secondary ranged wepaon I always pick staff.
As said, I never got kicked out of a dungeon pug and it happens that people add me to the friendslist to pug with me again in the future.
The issue here is that the staff does take more expertise to handle well, but with the right expertise it IS the better option. Don’t judge the staff cause some people dont know how to handle it right!
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Well as I said, I have run many dungeons in many types of groups. I have never been kicked out a PuG in my life and I always used my staff as secondary to my greatsword.
Yes you are right that empowerment has better alternatives. This means that in a pug you should make sure your stack isnt blocking others. Same goes btw with shouts. I see so many times guardians shouting at the same time instead of timing it better.
But the issue is that no ranged weapon is optimal, it is a known issue with guardians, but in my opinion the staff is more usefull then a scepter with a focus or a shield.
So lets compare (and dont give me rubbish like hallowed ground is better, Yes it is for an utility skill, but comparing utility skills with weapon skills is just bleh).
(damage according the wiki, so not counting downleveling, or boosting from multipliers like power or crit damage).
Wave of Wrath vs Orb of Wraht
Staff 222 damage per second, hitting up to 5 enemy’s
Scepter 280 damage per second, single target.
So yes scepter scores slightly better, but only when it is single target. when there is more then one target the staff wins.
Orb of light (and detonate) vs Smite
This one is difficult to compare. To have a good effect of Orb of light you need to detonate it on the right time. Smite is a ground target skill. So both have an handicap and much depends on players skill. If the orb is detonated at the right spot it deals more damage (and heals party members) but it is imo harder to master then placing the ground target right.
So this one depends fully on the players skill-level.
Symbol of swiftness vs Chain of light
The symbol wins on pure direct damage (and also has a shorter casting time).
The swiftness only has an advantage when skipping foes. So it comes to the secondairy effects of chains of light. the imobilize is in dungeons not often important. For trashmobs you dont care and almost all bosses are imune to it anyways. So 3 stacks of invulnarability for 6 seconds (3% damage increase for 6 seconds) is nice, but other classes can do this much much better, including the warriors that arfe very popular in dungeons as well. So the symbol wins this one in my opinion.
Empower (staff) vs Shield of judgement (shield) vs Ray of judgement (focus)
Shield is the most offensive skill. the protection is a nice bonus.
Ray is dealing lesser damage then shield, but gives direct healing and blind.
Empower is dealing no direct damage, but can boost the damage output. But through empower you gain 57% more DPS for your full party. Off course you have to time it right to not interfere with other might stackers. On top of that it gives an healing that is superior to the healing of Ray.
This one is clearly won by empower. Even when there is allready a full stack of might, the healing is significant enough to make a difference. Shield is second and ray third in this one.

There is a way to unsoulbound most weapons and gear and make them accountbound/soulbound on equip.
For the legendary/ascended gear:
1: get a white weapon (of the same kind) from the tradepost
2: use a transmutation crystal to transfer the skin of the legendary on the white item.
3: store in your bank and pick it up on your human
4: use a transmuatation splitter on the human to undo the transmutation. The result will be an accountbound legendary that is soulbound on equip.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Wait, does dragging and dropping on the border equal destroying an item? If so, sorry, but Anet doesn’t undo player mistakes.
Yes, you need to drag to one of the slots on the bottom of the mail. If not it is seen as dragging into nothingness and you get the pop-up window if you are sure you want to destroy it (for some items also a request to type the name).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The ladybug in game is to report a bug. This is not a bug. Also you dont get a personal answer that way.
To get an answer from support you need to start a ticket here. But my personal experience is that the answer will be that they don’t replace items lost by a player mistake. So yes you can try, but I think it is a waste of energy cause their policy doesnt replace the items.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
You can’t see your own star. The title is something you have to equip in the achievements tab (H).
I think you are missing a Waypoint added during a recent patch (lornar’s pass, near the majorette’s landing perhaps).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
As far as I know there isn’t.
There is only a way to turn it into accountbound (soulbound on use) but that doesnt allowe you to sell it.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Honestly I don’t know why people insist on giving bad advice here when someone ask for help. Staff? Really? Staff on a guardian is like the old Bearbow ranger, only in many cases worse. A good team can stack more might with a fire field then a guardian can give with the staff and it last a lot longer.
It can get you kicked out of alot of parties, see this post if you have any doubts
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Zerker-guardian-with-staff/page/3#post3589553.
And a post from someone who knows alot about the Guardian class https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Guide-DPS-Guardian-for-PVE/page/2#post3364731
Its not a matter of seeing the light. Its a matter of how little use you get out of the majority of the skills.
1. Weak auto attack
2. Small heal if not specked for healing, even then its not great
3. Swiftness causes light field instead of fire combos = No might stacking
4. Empower… the little might it gives could be gotten from other sources
5. Will stop a charging mob but otherwise not exactly gonna help you kill anything. The staff is sub-par except for support, and even then it is only used in certain areas.
You are just so wrong!
Yes for damage it is poor. But the purpose of ranged is to stay ranged when melee is impossible, keep that time frame as small as possible,
The speed is excellent
The line of warning is excellent to block people.
Empower is better then any other source
Plus I never get kicked out of party’s and often got invited again.
I guess it is you who doesn’t know what you are talking bout. just the fact that you dont know what to do with the staff doesnt mean it is sub-par, it is much better then a scepter. specially with the offhands possible.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Ok, I’m freaking out here!!
I do understand this move. I do see that it was intended to do WvW for your legendary and I do not have any objection to it.
But why Ninja this on us. Again, the community is treated as nobody’s!!
I got over 1000 badges. The only reason I didn’t get the gift for the second time was cause I didn’t want to waste a bankslot.
So basilcy you’r now saying screw you cause we Ninja’ed this kittened decission!!
Thanks a lot Anet. I was thinking of buying some gems for the new flame kissed armor, but You just blew it!!

I don’t think you can enter dungeons at level 20, so you might need to get to level 35 before being able to use that strategy on AC, which is the lowest level req dungeon.
The level requirement is an advise, just as for maps. You can enter a level 40 dungeon (e.g. CM) when you are only level 2.
Just make sure your party is ok with it and do not envolve in any fighting. A good tactic for AC can be to get your character ready in Plains of Ashford, when the final boss is defeated get the first reward, then go to character select. Make sure someone in your party is watching the whole end video (so not skipping) and you should have plenty of time for the two loading screens.

Please use the general discussion forum (several threads bout this there) to express those feelings. This thread is for accountissues and the refund procedure.
So to discuss current queu’ and ask questions wether what is refunded and what is not.

It is confirmed by many that the 15k chest is dropping the mantles (again).
No player in the world has reached 21k points yet. So it is Not confirmed that they drop from that chest (but players can see the promise that they will drop at 21k in the achievement tab).
People can allready ping it cause the chat code is known.

Listen, if you buy something in a store, and you later feel you’ve been scammed, you go to the store, right? So let’s say you enter the store, and you tell your story to the lady at the front desk (Gaile), and you ask for a refund. Now, she’s kindly telling you to write a letter with your complaint, to be sent to point A (BLTC forum). Which is what you do, right? But after a while, when you don’t get any letters back, what do you do? You go back to the lady that directed you to point A, and tell her that you did exactly as she told you, but you’re not getting any response. And you tell her again, politely but more firm this time, that you really want that refund.
That is what is happening here. And I completely understand it.
And I do not. The lady at the desk has allready told you that Anet is NOT going to give you the refund. She is UNABLE to help you. If you disagree with this stance by Anet you have a much better change to talk in a place where the person making that decission on behalf on Arenanet is gonna listen.
Yes Gaile is much nicer then those people, but don’t misuse that nice-ness and patience to highjack a thread totally unrelated.
So please go where you are asked to go.
There are several forum rules being broken here.
- ‘Stay on topic and create a new post for tangentially related topics.’
- ‘Do not engage in staff call-outs. Using the words “ArenaNet” or any staff member’s name will not expedite the answer to your query.’
- ‘Do not debate Customer Support decisions or actions’
-‘Do not post petitions, “I demand an answer” threads, conspiracy threads, or comments about circumventing the rules.’
So stop breaking the rules you agreed to!

Support works 24/7, but in my personal experience more at certain times then at others. That is the reason they tasked themself with a 72 hour respond time. If it takes longer, please let your friend post the ticketnumber in the designated sticky (tickets for review)
well, thanks for the hint. but my friend is very kittened and protesting he will give up playing, and 2 days waiting made him more mad, 3 days to review the ticket would be too long.
that is up to him. pls keep in mind that the 3 days is an ultimate target. often its sooner. mayn times when it isn’t reached it is cause the mail got hidden in a spamfolder. But it is the amount of time needed to make sure there is an issue.
^^! he’s mad cos he was accused and blocked “botting” which he never did in his entire life, yet he is innocent he have to wait 2 day by now, which I just did in 2 hours. don’t mention most guildies are on the new patch and his is left behind…
and sorry to bring that up, when we was playing wow, the ticket response always very fast, usually within 2 hours, even in mid-night, and you can even call customer service for some direct support. With comparison like that, I can understand his feeling.
WoW ask you to pay monthly fees. They depend on getting you hooked (addicted) to the game. So yes, WoW risks loosing the monthly income when they dont help you in time. They are eager to help you stay addicted.
Gaming addiction is a very bad issue. I know I have to watch out for it a lot myself. It is why I stick to GW2. I don’t pay monthly fees and I can quit whenever I want. The support model that blizzard uses is payed by the monthly fee and is based on keeping you addicted. GW2 knows many people are addicted, but they don’t benefit (leech) from it. They are just happy you enjoy the game.

I think its time for a public test server instead of some exclusive test just for certain guilds.
This wouldnt prevent that at all. It is a DoS issue. the only way to predict it is to see that the two hour maintanance was a bad idea.
To see potential DoS issues you need millions of testers.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The issues you are adressing are being discussed and have been dicussed over and over. This is an mmo and not a single player rpg. Thief has been considered too OP many times. You can argue that Anet should have been warned, the thief is basicly the sin in gw1 and it was OP there too.
My main point however is that in a game like this there should be balance between classes. When a game is released, there is no way of knowing what the community comes up with regarding to builds. The have several 100’s of people employed. but we got the resources of million’s of players. they don’t stand a change when it comes to balance and have to wait for us what we throw at them. Getting a proper balance takes a lot of time and they are trying. but that means that people get annoyed by the ‘fixes’.
Yes the PvE living world is much easier to update, but dont expect wonders if the put all that effort into fixing pvp builds. in the end it takes time to see what we find out to do with the changes and to fix that.

Just turn the dam servers off and on -.-
Thats just plain stupid.
Everyone is being thrown out, going to spam login at the same time (prolly breaking it straight away) and if they get in spamming the eotm map.
I think the only solution is to wait till tonight (Arenanet night) so the stress is gone away and they can reboot things properly. They really goofed up on the 2 hour maintanance. making sure everyone was spamming the button to enter at the same time.

I REALLY don’t like the new look :-( Woke up this morning to a new skin I was so disappointed with. I want the old one back – even if it means you can upgrade them with money from the human cultural tier 3 vendor or something. I hope I get a refund. Sent in a ticket but it said something like ’you’re almost done’, so I don’t even know if my ticket got through :-/
If you made a ticket you should have gotten an email with a ticketnumber. If thats not the case, please try again.

This is not really a bug, but more a technical issue.
What happened is that they made some storylines before you should enter to spread out the workload, but for some reason they decided to plan 2 hours maintanance. Resulting in everyone standing ready to enter and spamming ‘F’ at the portal. When the map opened up this resulted in a denial of service. the way to solve this is for everyone to leave and log in one after another. Cause thats not going to happen I would advise to let the map alone for atleast 24 hours so things can calm down.

I think the problem is: Gaile is really all we’ve got. And I recall very well that each time Gaile got involved into a gemstore related controversy (e.g. Flamekissed armor, free account-bound upgrades for soulbound infinite harvesting tools), the right decision was made. So I agree with you that absolute courtesy is required (as always, but especially here), but I don’t agree that people are not entitled to ask questions or post responses here. Particularly when they feel they really have nowhere else to turn to.
The ‘problem’ is that Gaile is redirecting people elsewhere.
She is the support liason. This means one of her tasks is to see possible issues and put it on the table at arenanet. In this case the people making the decission what to refund and what not to refund. She fights hard for us, but in this case the decission made by arenanet stands. Keep in mind. Gaile is on the payroll of Arenanet. So in the end she has to stick with the decission that Arenanet makes and defend it.
In this case she explained the stance that support is taking on this issue and told people where to discuss the issues they have with it. So, as I see it:
Arenanet has taken a stance in this debate that some people don’t like. The support liason is supporting this stance (as said she is on the payroll and it is to be expected she would and should) and she can’t change this stance. She is giving the advise to express your discomfort with this stance elsewhere. I am not saying that she might expect that it will be more succesfull to express it there, but I do feel that she is certain it will be more purposefull there.
(in other words. Gaile = Arenanet, so don’t expect her choosing for us over the person paying her daily sandwich, but do read between the lines of what she is saying).

You are prolly experiencing network issues. The update and some issues whit getting into the new content has caused a big stress on the servers. When things cooldown, im pretty confident your guildbank will be back.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I want to give some structural feedback on the technical issues occuring.
If you understand what I’m saying and have some interesting comments, please feel free to do so. If you just want to flame bout the issue, just don’t
I want to stress out that many times when a new map is released, it gives some issues like this.
When a new map is released everyone wants to go in resulting in a denial of service.
I just wonder who thought it was a great idea to have 2 hours of maintance.
The spread of workload needed was well put into the story.
1: go to lions arch to talk to the sherif
2: go to divinity’s reach to talk to marjory
3: go to the new map.
This and the stretch made by a major update (some update quicker then others) would prevent this catastrophy. But you decided for reasons unknown to me to delay access to the most important part with two hours, making sure that everyone was gathered at the portal in LA, spamming ‘F’ to enter, so your servers had to say boom. I though Collin said that lessons where learned from the introduction of southsun and halloween 2012.
Next time please make sure you spread out the load of people trying to enter a new map.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Just curious how long support will take. Sent in a ticket over 2 hours ago with a reply that a senior member was going to look into it.
Support has tasked themself to respond within 72 hours. In many situations they respond a lot quicker. In cases simular to this one (e.g. when the gathering tools went account based) they where unable to hit that target. Please be patient, do not open multiple tickets and keep checking this forum for updates bout the queue for this situation.

Personally I love the new set a lot more then the old. I am considering getting it, but have to try it out on my light armor classes (sylvari ele, sylvari necro, mesmer asura). Cause the necro is allready awesome that one goes. The mesmer is an asura and often i dislike expensive armor on them cause they are expensive and my ele sylvari is a pink mushroomhead, so not sure)
As for the time needed to make a totally new set. It takes a lot longer then you asume and unless you can design these things I think you shouldnt judge that ‘they had alkl the time’. As said. If you want a refund, ask one and you will get it. Don’t start to flame here over nothing. So far it seems that support is very generous when it comes to refunding make-overkits, crystals, splitters, etc.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
For almost all dungeons I think a ranged weapon is important. The reason is that if you cant stand the heat you should leave the kitchen. being able to go ranged is important. Also shouts are important then so if you stay alive you stay supportive. My preference is the staff as second weapon (beside the GS) cause the empowerment is an awesome party buff. Besides that if skipping, the staff skill 3 is awesome to boost the speed and skill 5 is great for blocking enemy’s that try to follow you. For regular PvE you can go more selfish, but still, being able to go ranged is for me a must.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Mesmer; terible to level, but very viable at level 80. of the three most powerfull at PvP and very nice in dungeons and to help portal friends atjumping puzzles
Ele: Challenging and versatile. Very squishy at first, but much better later
Necro: easy to level, Nice in wvw and pvp, less viable in dungeons (although, in dungeons if you dont bring minions you should be fine)

A) yeah… i found that out when i was guesting in another server, it wasn’t actually the altar itself, it was the steps leading up to it. i had read that you needed to do the event so i assumed it was inside the shield :P
B) yeah, luckily it was deactivated when i guested, plus hardly any risen
C) yeah it was that one, but i guested to a second server where it was deactivated. i’ll remember that trick for when my friend is running through Malchor’s Leap though
and i now have 100% completion of the PvE map (including Chantry Of Secrets, which i remembered as being something everyone forgets about). now on to WvWvW whens its back up
Gratz on your 100%, Glad I was of help

No official info bout the refund policy is made public yet. It likely will involve making a support ticket. But it might be needed to do some additional things first.
However, you should be able to allready make the request through the supportticket. if additional things needs to be done, You can always do that later and update the ticket.

To solve your problems with all cathedrals or statues:
http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html
Look for a server where the temple (and so all the statues of that god) is uncontested and guest to that server. Mostly all the time this is the case for atleast one or two servers. The only exception is Balthazar, that temple is mostly done in the evenings and weekends.
For the one with the champion patrolling it: check when guesting for a more populated server. Often you can help each other where one keeps the champ busy and the other communes (dont forget to reverse roles)
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Due to a small line in the update notes I’m shameless bumping this so people can easily read the history of this subject
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The cooldown is shared, but the change is stacked. So if you have two of scavanger and two of vamperism, you get 10% change to steal health (so double change), but if you do it is on a cooldown for both runes (15 seconds)
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Step 1: observe some matches to get the hang of how things are and what the objectives and tactics are
Step 2: get an initial set of skills/traits/gear. It is perfectly ok to start out with a pre-made build. there are several outside sources available. These builds are all okayish (though not perfect)
Step 3: dive in and learn. You will loose a lot in the beginning. Everytime you do, think bout why you loose and how to overcome that.
Step 4: once you start getting the hang of things go make your own set of skills/traits/armor. Finetune it to your liking. In PvP a build is ultimate important for how succesfull you are and it is best to have a build that fits your personal skills perfectly.

No. As said the power of GW2 is the lack of subs. It is also an important trademark of the company. GW1 never had subscription fees either.
The only sub I would encourage and even consider paying for myself is a sub for gems. So if you get a 10 USD/month subscription you recieve 800 gems per month.

Hi Thom,
Very sad to hear that you are experiencing lag. Unfortunally this is not (fully) Anet’s fault. There are several issues.
a: Recently some major internethubs have changed. This means that correct working routes to the Anetserver suddenly go over very bad lines. Anet can’t change that cause the route your computer takes is determined by your provider.
b: The latest installment of the living story has brought back many players. This means the servers are suddenly more busy. This is offf course something Anet should fix, but it takes some time
c: Today is updateday, the next living story is being released. On those day it is usual to experience more lag. I suspect that Anet redirects server capacity from the live servers to the update server to prepare for the big spike there.
I know this all doesn’t help you with a solution, but it might help you understand the situation. If your problem persists for a few days after this update, please contact your provider to see how they are routing you, and to change this routing.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The only time I’ve gotten the “accept story progress” option is when you are both running the exact same story and you NEED the same story to continue.
Yes, but there are several cross order story’s.
From the level 42-47 storyline you get to choose between several races, wich one doesnt depend on your order but on your race.. So if a vigil and a whisperer human choose the skritt, they both go to Rat-Tastrophe. Eventhough dialogue and order npc with you differ, it is the same thing. If the vigil player start it and the whisperer player joins in, if he/she decides to accept the reward, it means he/she will change order to vigil.
Jeffrey,
This issue comes up often. I don’t believe it is a bug, but the message, specially before ‘Building the pact’ could be more clear for the story’s where this is an issue.
Maybe something for the todo list??
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Anybody else who had this problem?? most likely yes.
Support has investigate these kind of issues and in many cases the investigation turned out it was a user-error.
Having said that, they can investigate and atleast tell you wether it was a user error or a bug.
If it was a user error, the normal policy is that they do not replace the tiem.
If it was due to a bug/glitch they try to replace the item. Keep in mind that they don’t have to tools to recreate items out of thin air on the live servers. So eventhough they admit it is their fault it might happen that they can’t help you anyways. It depends a bit on the item in question.
So to make a long story short: You’ret best off making a support ticket (link on top of this page)
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
It has been like that for me as well. But rather for weeks now. To be precise it started with the Origins Of Madness Release.
It´s not nice to be lagging like mad now, even tho i just upgraded my system
Please do not use this thread for this.
This thread is for people who have NOT been lagging since OoM, but in the last few hours.
Thereare always people lagging. And it does happen that some people start experiencing lag. I do know an amount of people have been complaining bout more intensive lag since the OoM release. This however is NOT a server issue (though see my note)
The purpose of this thread is to identify a possible issue with the servers that started a few hours ago. I have done my daily bout an hour ago and didnt experience any issues
(Note bout ooM lag: I do believe there are two causes for the increase in the amount of lag. The first is that GW2 seems to have returning players. for example, I am seeing LA getting in overflow in the evening, something that didnt happen on my server since months.. The other thing is that some major internethubs have been changed round the same time. This means that your ISP can be guiding you now over a bad line instead of a good line. But as said, this is a different issue thats unrelated to the purpose of this thread. Please use the right thread for this).

I didn’t quite get your last part, did you mean that people who botting will be blocked for sure cause Anet has solid evidence, but people like me being falsely blocked just need to request a ticket to unblocked, because they are not 100% sure and will re-evaluate the action?
Yes and No, it is more subtile.
We have seen scenario’s here like the following
player his account is terminated cause he was botting (according to Arenanet). He filed a support ticket claiming he was not. Arenanet re-investigated the evidence and came to the same conclusion (the payer has been botting). The player asked for an appeal and the supportliason (Gaile) investigated the matter. She also came to the conclusion that beyond reasonable doubt this person has been botting and not as he claimed he has been farming. The player however maintained his stance.
For me as an outsider it is impossible to tell for 100% sure who is right and who is wrong. On one hand I trust Anet to make very sure they investigate fully and also believe they will only make a claim that the player has been botting if they are 100% sure. But I also know Anet has made mistakes (not bout botting, but for example in recognising a bug as an exploit). On the other hand it is important for botters to spread doubt and discredit Arenanet.
So I can not say that Arenanet never makes mistakes and so I can not garantee that you will not be permanent terminated for botting while you where only excessive farming.
I do know that the amount of people claiming to have been terminated for botting while they actually where excessive farming is very very low. So it is my personal believe that those who do claim, are actually botters trying to discredit Arenanet.
Also ask yourself a question. How many others do you think are farming for 20-40 minutes, then do a worldboss and return to farming?? I think a lot of people do that. If the filters and support would be faulty in recognising this as allowed behaviour, this forum would explode with discussions bout it, but it doesnt.
So bottom line: I can’t garantee you anything, but I wouldn’t bother and just go ahead with your farming.

I do not think the gemstore is disrespecting players.
The discussion is bout pay to win and pay to play. In my opinion there is no line between pay to play, pay to win and free to play but a huge grey area.
Take for example the game perfect world.
This game is a perfect example of pay to win. Even though all things your rl money can buy can be bought with in game gold. To actually being able to play succesfully after the first 15 levels you either need to farm low level area for 1000+ hours OR invest real life money.
This means the game is in reality not only pay to win but also pay to play.
Lord of the rings Online did it differently. There you can actually play a very good amount of content without paying anything. The high end content is pay to play, but it isn’t very expensive and after unlocking you can go back to free to play.
This game has a gemstore and it is an important part of the games cashflow but you can play the game fully without ever buying gems AND you are not terrible handicapped if you decide to do so.
So currently I do not see an issue.
Off course it might happen that at one point this will change, but this is also personal experience and personal opinion. There isn’t a line deviding f2p and p2w or p2p, but a grey area.

Infinite Gathering Tools: Some Info for you

First off all, generic brand 5s stinks. You better go with generic brand s4
Having said that. I do believe that this discussion doesnt belong here. Ignoring Gaile’s request to discuss it elsewhere is very impolite to her and will lead to a higher change that nothing is going to be done bout this.
This thread is to discuss the return policy for duplicate gathering tools. To me the return policy is very clear. If you want to discuss the lack of a return policy for not duplicate tools then I would recommend starting a discussion in the traders forum where it belongs.

This is caused by graphical lag and I do believe the issue is different and something anet should fix.
The issue is the load-sequence of textures. There doesnt seem to be a prioity list for textures while I do think that ground should be loaded before buildings and other players. Off course, fragmentation and the amount of other people around do make this issue more prominent.

Hi,
There have been some more issues with lag since the new update. This is not experienced by all. There can be two causes for this
a: some area’s have become more crowded and atleast on my server I have seen an increase of players (for example, LA is having overflows in the evening, something that didnt happen in ages).
b: You internet provider has made some changes bout how traffic is routed. Around the time of the update some routes have been changed.
You posted this is in the account issues section. This is not the place to be for this cause your account is working as it should, but your client isn’t. This means you can have more luck in the technical support section.

It is very advisable to buy gear to help when leveling up. The kind of gear depends a lot on your method of leveling and the class.
An ele is very squishy. It can be build to be very tanky, but not at low level. You often need grandmaster traits for that.
For the ele I would recommend to get new armor every 10 levels. when you can get masterwork/rare. Never go for exotic before level 80.

Sending gold and items between YOUR accounts

I’m in the same situation here and I’m starting to get crazy here cause the mailing always tells me I’m sending too much gold… 20g for a 3 week old acc with a lvl 80 shouldn’t be too much.
Does anybody know how exactly the gold cap system works so I can find out how much gold I can send. And also how many mails you can send in a day because it also blocks my mails after 1 try because of excessive mailing?
No, this information is unknown and classified. Bypassing the cap is what goldsellers would love to do.

Hi Lannah,
As said, you can post the ticket number in the designated sticky. Keep in mind that these things are very hard to investigate. Often there are two sides to the story.
Also. How does he know what new guild you are in??
Did you block him??

Hi,
this is likely not an account issue, but a technical issue. I would recommend to post this in the technical support section of the forum (or ask the mods to move this there). You can also make a support ticket to get help.
