I know I’m not asking for something simple but I also believe it is an important issue with many people.
FPS drops.
During dynamic events, in WvW, but even if you just run through LA, you get lagspikes cause of the amount of other players around you.
These spikes can be solved by changing your settings. But that mean the game doesnt look as awesome as it is with max settings. So often when I return to more solistic game play like dungeons or leveling or grinding, I return them to the better settings. This is not an easy task cause the game only gives you three standard presets (best quality, best performance and auto detect) and those presets never give the actual optimum result.
The first part of the suggestion is to be able to create our own graphical profile and that the game remembers that.
If that is possible, it might also be possible to have an option that the game switches to a different profile if the FPS drops below a certain trashhold, and returns to the default profile when FPS is back up.

No. Sales are never announced, and if there is a certain rotation to the sales, the rotation cycle hasn’t been discovered yet (though I do not believe there is a rotation, but just the marketing team deciding what to put on sale).
Also, when it comes to armorskins, it also happens that specific skins are removed from the store. This to keep the list with skins not too long but still add refreshing new skins to it.

You can always try to guest to a higher populated server. Guesting is free. The activeness off the game depends a lot on the server and the time. Some servers are really active, but have a huge WvW audiance. This means regular PvE is almost deserted on them. Through guesting you can easily check if you have a better experience on a different server. To change servers for good you either need to pay some money (bout 10 USD) or delete all your characters (you can store all but soulbound items in your bank) and change for free.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Also, when it comes to character progression, you have a lot more then described here.
At level 10 you can buy your first traitbook (10s). With traits you put specific stats (like power or touchness) up, but also unlock so called traitskills. These traitskills are passive skills that are always active or trigger at specific situations.
a few examples:
- 2 handed weapons deal 5% more damage
- If you dodge you create a clone of yourself
- If you are downed you summon a lavapool
- you take less falling damage
- you run 5% faster
On top of that you can upgrade your weapons and armor with sigils and runes. These can have specific effect as well. like stacking up power, or a change to summon a flock of birds when you make a critical hit.

Ok, going backwards through the living story and what it added:
1: kessex hills, in and round the tower. Some PoI’s have been moved but atleast on was newly added.
2: Halloween, inside the black citadel, just next to where you enter if you portal from Lion’s arch is a new Waypoint (though you need to go through the arena area to get there)
3: Dragonbash: in divinity’s reach in the south-east part of town is a new PoI
4: Dragonbash: in gendarrna fields, to the south (west of the lion’s arch portal) is new jumping puzzle with a PoI
5: Flame and frost: in Wayfairer foothills, just north of the portal to Diessa plateau.
6: Flame and frost: in diessa plateau, just north of the portal to the black citadel.

I’m not sure why you post the reaction off the GM? What do you want now. you start by asking what is needed to leave the game and then you continue to make your case. To me there are two clear options, but not both.
1: Quit the game. This is the ultimate power you have as a customer. If a company treats you badly, you stop using their products. Cause there are no monthly fees involved, you don’t have to do anything to Quit. Just uninstall the game and never install or login again.
2: If you want to file a complaint, feel free to do so. Make sure you ask the support liason for a review of this ticket and that you post the ticketnumber. Without the ticketnumber, the support liason can’t do anything.
Personally I do not see a lot wrong with the GM’s reaction. Off course, if you lost money, he clearly is misreading the logs or the logs are wrong, but he is not giving judgement over it and only quoting the facts that he has.
So make up your mind. Either way, I wish you good luck!
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Actually, I think it’s blocked mostly because there are Mesmer Phantasms that are named “Illusionary xxxx”. So having a name that’s similar to the Mesmer skills would be confusing, thus blocked.
See link: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Phantasm
I really doubt this. Anet has to follow the rules in the naming proces just as anyone else. So it could only be a copyright violation, and the word illusionist is not a copyright violation.
Also, I have been doing much worse. me and some guildmates all made and leveled mesmer with an alomst simular name (I think all are gone so it should be save to name a few: ‘willow gemini, wilow gemini, willow gemimi’ The idea was (and it worked pretty good) to go into WvW and spread confusion between the clones and the real players (well more then the usual confusion created by clones). It is in my opinion a need trick, but nothing illegal bout it. a trick like you are describing is nothing different.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The PoI’s are unlocked without entering Craegstad. So the fact that those are unlocked doesnt proof you have been there. also the exploration is soulbound, so are you sure it was that character that went there??
Anways, good you found the issue and GZ on getting the achievement. thats all that matters right??
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I know there are several servers that do him a few times per week. Mostly this is organised by special made guilds and they often get a succesfull attempt (kill the dragon).
There is one server that is doing it more often and that is desolation. I havent checked recently (Tequatls got competition from the jungle wurm) but before the last update Desolation was killing him from morning to late night every time he spawns. It did fails sometimes, but mostly they make it. The only issue is that this is common info. So getting there 5 minutes before he spawns will land you straight to overflow. If you want to guest there, from my experience, you need to be there atleast 90 minutes ahead of time.
Also, these are pro’s. so tell in mapchat you never done it and ask for instructions. do not be shy. Join a zerg (so do not go defend or man the turrets) at the first few times and follow directions.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
No
If you loose your serial number support will never give you a replacement. But if a situations arises where you need to proof ownership they have alternative ways. It basicly consist of a long and irritating list of questions. I have seen it once (it changes on regular basis) and it contains many things that seems to be bogus to me. It also contains many questions that are asking for the obvious: ‘are you realy realy realy sure you lsot your product key, are yo usure you looked everywhere?? did you even look under your matrass, in your cupboard and in the broomcloset?? no, then go check it and tell us how your broomcloset looks like from the inside’ Ok I maybe a lil bit over the top here, but you got my point, The list is irritating and as said it changes.
The bottom line is that they will give you back access if you are the rightfull owner (but not a replacement productkey).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Ok, lots of stuff going on.
first off all
Kicking someone from a dungeon group is not an action that is automatically an illegal action. as far as I know only one rule is involved: ‘While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game.’
This is from the rules of conduct.
This actually protects both you and the people who kicked you.
There are two interests important here.
1: If you join a group with one or more people you don’t know and kick them, you make the game less enjoyable for the person who is kicked. (in other words, it is totally annoying when you get kicked and a bad experience).
2: the other side however is that you are forced to respect the right of others to play and enjoy the game. So if your company turns out to be not enjoyable (to the other’s side judgement) they do have the right to kick you.
In the situation off a dungeon kick it is all in the details and how far in you are. I know and I disaprove that some people kick at the final boss jsut to let a noob guildmember in, but from a GM point of view to verify the motives, the kick and invite of a guildmember is not enough. You are (I reckon) stating that your performance is up to level and a GM has to make judgement if it was. That is an impossible judgement to make from a GM who has to be independant and above the party’s.
So bottom line, in most cases the GM’s truly understand your issue and troubles but it is not to them to judge.
When a dungeon party kicks someone, this is cause they are not enjoying your company and after that you are not enjoying the experience as well. I totally understand that. But rule one of the rules of conduct is bout giving freedom to enjoy the game. so forcing someone to play with you is a breach as well. The only way is to proof that you where kicked, not cause they disliked you, but cause they wanted a guildmember in.
Keep in mind that it is common practise if you have a gap in the party halfway a dungeon to first ask for guildmembers, often on voip communication.
So, although I agree in most cases it is very clear that it is done on purpose, it is extremely hard to prove that.
Bottom line: it stinks to be kicked out of a dungeon but support can’t do a lot bout it.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The daily ambient killer is somewhat lenghty/boring. but then again , if you know the right spot it isn’t too difficult.
I normally keep my spot a bit secret (atleast here on the forum, seen good spots turned too crowded), but I go to the corpse of isomir in wayfairer foothills. Lot’s of crows around. They do fly up when you kill one but come down again very quick, and even when they flew away you can still kill them with aoe damage.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Thing is, almsot all legendary foes I know allready give a chest (or loot)
They either appear at a personal story (at the end) so you get the personal story reward
or they appear in dungeons, but afaik always a ground chest is rewarded
or they are a worldboss and a chest appears on the ground and in the right corner of your screen.
And besides the personal story (and those are not really legendary’s tbh) all those drops are in general better :P
I do think that obsidian shards should and precurors should be easier to get, but this is not the best way imo. For precurosrs they did announce that they would introduce a new way to get them, If I remember right somewhere before the end of 2013 (looks at calender – fill in your own cheeky remark here- )

For me the daily feats is like the daily laurel vendor visitor. A free achievement.
This is what I do:
1: go to a master chef, and ask for cooking supplies
2: locate ‘Rice in bulk’ and by one package (49 karma)
3: unpack to recieve exact 25 riceballs
4: keep clicking on the riceballs till you eaten all 25
(you dont need to wait for the effect to wear off, it only costed 49 karma and your done within a minute with this achievement)

First of all, bezerker is going to have a change (or actually critical damage wich is an important element of bezerker). How big the change will be, only anet might know, but its still in development so it can still change. I do not think that bezerker will be rubbish after it, but I do think it will change it.
To me the following classes are for PvE/dungeons in most situations better of with bezerker:
Warrior
Ranger
Mesmer
Engineer
Thief
For guardian, necromancer and elementalist there also other possibility’s that are pretty good.
Also keep in mind that with bezerker it is a matter of win and die. There are situation where bezerker just doesnt work. This will happen earlier on a light armor mesmer then on a heahvy armor warrior, but it still will be.
My advice.
Get bezerker for your warrior, it is the class that goes best with that set
Make your guardian a (lil) bit more sturdywith some healing power and thoughness (bout 75% bezerker stats, and 25% touchness and healingpower). This will result in a bezerker hybrid that has still the most advantages of zerker, but combined with the natural defenses of the guardian you have a big survivabillity without overdoing it.

Could it be, coupled with “intentional misspelling”, the substring “sionist” as zionist? Only thing I can think of why Illusionist is banned.
That’s what I was thinking too. I wasn’t even sure that was offensive but it’s all I can come up with.
It was on my mind too, but it is no use to speculate on the reasons. I suspect it is a mistake, but I’m sure Gaile will read this sooner or later.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I see his original post on it now.
But frankly, sounds like to me some of this is on ArenaNet. People shouldn’t be able to hook up new keys to old perma-closed accounts like that.
Ow I agree, if the key was bought directly at arenanet or an official retailer he/she would get a new key or his money back. But this seems to be a pretty shady reseller cause they are selling gw2 in China while the game isnt available in China yet.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Jeffrey is fully correct.
Just for future reference, this is a technical ‘issue’ and would officially belong in that section. this is for issues with your account
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Do u think the super skins are currently a good investment.
So I have the super sword 21 gold at the time and shortbow 29 gold at the time on my thief.
Today i bought the rifle 49 gold, and axe 45 gold, do u think I will make much profit in the coming months. Theres 12 of one available and 30 of the other
It will be a gamble. It is expected that the super adventure box will return. If it does, it is to be expected that the old skins can still be earned (and the addition of new skins).
At the moment that a new adventure box is announced I expect the skin to drop in price dramatically. Cause you never know when it is going to happen it is a gamble.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I sometimes call those people out. I do that because I am frustrated not only by their lack of skill (which i can totally understand) but by their unwillingness to learn.
Here is what I think people should do:
-> new encounter -> ask people about it or read about it -> come with my character that I am most familiar with and has the best equipment (not talking about full ascended, I am talking about best equipment from all the characters i have) -> ask again, pay attention to everything and try my bestHere is what I most of the time see:
-> new encounter -> say nothing, ask noone, just play it -> use the character with the lowest level/gear to level him (even though you get no exp at all at this event) -> play completely for myselkittenomeone right next to me in downstate? I don’t care. killing that champ that is almost at the gate? no I already did enough damage to get loot -> be completely overwhelmed with the chain stage because I didn’t ask anyone what to do -> fail, learn nothing out of it -> receive loot. And this is a huge problem and it gets even worse that people try to defend those players.
- Can you blame players that this event is a level 34 event instead of a level 80 event??
- Can you blame players that a champ equals a lootbox?
- Can you blame players that you need a succesfull event to get the achievements?
- Can you blame players that they still get decent loot upon fail?
Do not call other players out while it is clear that Arenanet wanted it to be this way, and in my personal opinion it is good this way as well. If you want to discuss the decissions that Anet makes in designing these things, sure! But don’t put the blame on other players or flame them. Yes then I defend them. They play the game as intended by the makers!
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
First off all I would never call other players a noob, specially not in their face. During the specific event when a chain fails I would call mostly for the next lane to do better and ‘show them’ how it’s done.
Also when the event goes really really bad (like less then 3 lanes actually succeeding) I would urge everyone to read the guide at dulfy.net before they try again.
Those words might sound harshbut they are to provide actual help. By putting the competition on the next lane to do better then the failing lane I try to keep the event rolling (if people are flaming in mapchat they are not actually playing). By advising to read dulfy I advise people to read the guide :P
I dot that without notion of the people I’m talking bout. I hate long waiting, so I usually show up 10 minutes ahead of time in overflow and I don’t know the people. I also don’t think that someone is checking actively how many AP’s someone has. I got a lil bit over 9,5k. There are players with more then me, who are really better then me. I also know players with more who are definitly not as good, but just more focused on those AP’s.
As for the LFG-tool.
I disagree that there are only wts and ‘experienced only’. There are also LFG’s that do it right. Ironical the best pug’s I joined where those that did NOT advertise with the experienced only.
The reason for that is simple. The people asking for specific classes and specific experiences are often blaiming past mistakes on their party, while in reality, it is more likely to blame on themselfes.
It is all bout respect for eachother. I don’t care if you have 20k AP’s or 2k AP’s, just be nice and respectfull to others. If people can improve, give them helpfull feedback. It also works the other way. I have been in a pug that was advertised as level 80 only, and before the final boss, without asking 2 people logged out to low level alt. the person who started the LFG was kittened off and he was totally right. If you join a level 80 only you don’t do this, disregardless what you think bout people asking for level 80 only.
So be respectfull. I do believe this is still the case with most people, but some are not
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The Victors Presidium boss is indeed Horace (or one of the three bosses that spawnb before him). He is idneed pretty hard to solo and for a startermap I think the hardest. Lormar is easier but still pretty hard.
What is important to recognise is that both are indicated as group-events. This term refers to events that are designed to do with a group of people and not solo.
There are group events that are, despite the name, perfectly doable solo if you are a skilled player, but some are nearly impossible, specially when you are low level.
The thing indicated here bout high level players going to a low level area is correct, but the advantage is still big to come back later. On some of my level 80’s I have succesfully killed Horace without the help of others. But it is difficult and challenging still. I wouldn’t try it on a low level. If he is up then I jsut run through full kamikaze to the point of interest and then waypoint out if I don’t make the return trip.

Dungeons: there is no pvp related content in dungeons at all. All pvp takes place in either PvP-arena’s and World versus World. In world versus world you also have PvE elements. Not sure if among them are champions, but definitly elites and veterans. Some area’s in WvW can look a bit like a dungeon (for example the obsidian sanctum)
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
ty both of you. then where can i find legendary items and are they worth to buy or exotic items are enough for both wvw and PvE?
Legendary weapons have the same stats as ascended weapons (there is no legendary armor, although some rumours indicate that might be itnroduced at some point).
The only two advantages for a legendary is that they have a shiny skin AND that you can change the stats with a mouseclick (if out of combat).
If you are interested in getting a legendary you might want to check out this page:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_weapon
A legendary takes a lot of time and resources to make. On top of that, one ingredient, the precursor is very very expensive due to the ultra low droprate.
For me, my quest for a legendary is to give myself a goal. I love this game and I love playing it, but the goal of my legendary also gives me a purpose, or a reason.
This also indicates that if I make it that far, I need to find a new goal :P
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
No hardcore mode.
As you allready can see, warrior is what most people scream when it comes to best class.
Bullocks I say to that.
Warrior is the most OP class at the moment, but it is far from versatile. In my opinion it is so easy it is even boring.
Same goes btw for Ranger. With the top side that ranger is not really good in WvW.
Both classes are a kill them quick and easy classes and move on, that is not what I call versatile.
To me versatile classes are:
Elementalist – very weak, low armor, low health class. It really demands of you to learn to play the game (dodge). You get through attunements 4 different sets of skills wich you can toggle through. These are somewhat themed to make it more fun.
- fire: DPS+burning
- Earth: DPS+armor-buffs+cripples
- Water: Healing and CC
- Air: CC+swiftness
This makes it a very versatile class, but not easy to master
Engineer: The engineer are considered the special opps, they can fullfill almost every aspect of the game. This is done through kits (they replace weaponskills). There are grenade kits, a flamethrower, a medkit, etc. The downside is that they are good at everything, but never outstanding.
Thief: The thief is good at PvE and awesome in WvW. The thief uses ranged weapons or melee weapons. They are pretty squishy, but can strike hard. Using stealth they can hide themselfes from enemy’s. This means that you can strike hard, hide for skillrecharge and strike again.
What works in PvE/WvW often doesn’t work in PvP, but for PvP you don’t need a full level character. In PvP you get bugged to max level with all stats and traits and you got access to all armor and gear types (though only in PvP).
This means you can make a character, go to the PvP area and have the same excellent stats as a 1,5 year veteran (though the vet prolly slays you anyways cause he is much more experienced). This does mean that this is also an excellent way of testing out classes, weapons, attunements. skills and stats. Besides pvp-arena’s, the heart of the mists (staging area) has several pve training objects like npc with a specific quality to test yourself.
Welcome to the game!

There are two things involving your name in game.
1: on the character you completed the world exploration on, you get a gold star next to your name.
2: on your characters you get the title ‘Been there done that’. To display this udner you name you need to go to the achievements window (‘H’ and then the right tab) and drop down the title list (top left corner) to select ‘Been there done that’ to be the titel on display. Cause you can display different titels on different characters you can have to do this to every character (if you want to display it off course).

I personally store my serial code in a password app in my phone where the DB is backed up elsewhere. There are various ones out there, free and pay, that work pretty good.
I would discourage everyone from doing so. It is good practise to use the mobile authenticator (even if you are not using it, you should). This means you break the 2 way security if you store the key on your phone.
From a security point of view the best practise is to store the key digitally AND physically. If possible keep the digitally and physically key separated geographically. This last thing can be an issue for many, as said, there are ways around if the OP’s friend looses the key, so it is just best practise.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Assuming this is the full conversation and the OP didn’t leave parts out of it I do feel that support did a poor job on explaining this situation.
From my experience here with support policy, what the GM is trying to say is that they can’t create items on the server out of thin air. Therefor they can’t give you an individual solution to your problem.
If you feel that Arenanet should change this position and develop these tools for the GM’s you should make a suggestion in the named link.
I think this is a much clearer explanation of what they mean. Also, personally I would add that this is a bug that is described allready in the bugsection:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/No-WvW-season-1-reward-chest
The post is unanswered (the devs claim they read all bugs but due to the huge amount they don’t comment on all of them), but putting in your information will really help them to see the impact this issue has AND in case they (accidentally off course) did miss it the first time to bump it to the top
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Rajani, due to an earlier post by OP Gaile allready reviewed this. Her answer back then was that he would get an answer from support. The answer is that they can’t refund the second key cause it was bought by an external reseller. So the case is reviewed and closed for Arenanet (though Gaile might change the ‘verdict’ due to this post).
But as long as Gaile doesn’t change her position the OP’s possibillity’s with support are gone. The reaction by Arenanet is fair and logical. Though off course not a nice situation for the OP.

There are as far as I know, no mini dungeosn that fall into the description beside forsaken fortune. It doesn’t start in a small pool of water, but the portal that leads you in is build on an iceshelf.
It can also be that you are mistake for a jumping puzzle. There are several that come into mind. But following your desciption Loreclaw Expanse comes in mind. This jumping puzzle has two entrances, ther most used is above water, but there is also an underwater entrance (this one was used in the early video’s during beta). The start when using the underwater entrance is not a small pool but a rather big one. When you come to the end you need to jump through a waterfall and then fight two possible bosses, one of them is a skelk (with some others). Once those are down you do a small bit of more jumping and the chestroom opens.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The guardian is the best in buffing and boosting allies, no doubt bout it, but in the end the amount of healing/buffing you can do is still very limited. The main rule is that there are no healers. When im doing a dungeon as a guardian, I do keep an eye out for the healthbars, so I can cast my heals as tactical as possible, but in the end the win or fail is not depending on how good the guardian is, but how good the team is.
A good guardian can save a bad team, thats ture, but its not the guardians fault the team is bad

Badges of honour are drops in World versus World, if you enter you end up in your keep where the merchants are. To enter, press ‘B’
Fractals tokens drop in fractals of the mist. You can visit the merchant in the fractals.
Go to the asuraportal in lions arch near the consortium gift shop poi (just north of, and below fort mariner). when entering ignore the message bout a party of five. When in, do not jump in the thingy at the center, but only talk to the Merchants to see what they need/have. Ascended trinkets also drop in fractals of the mist, but the droprate is low, they are not tradable and the stats are random.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Keep in mind some changes have been announced to critical damage (and so beserker). The reason is that Anet feels that beserker is currently too much OP and they want to promote other armor sets. the first changes can be expected in the next few months. Just warning you now. It prolly will be that beserker is still pretty good, but if it stays the best pick, well nobody knows.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
there are several ways of getting ascended items
1: drop from fractalsdungeons
2: buy them with laurels/guildrecommendations/badges of honor (important: make a good pricecheck, badges and recommendations are often cheaper, but not all kinds are available).
3: some very unique ascended items can be bought/sold on the TP.
4: number 1 and 2 where for trinkets only. Weapons and armor can be crafted by level 500 craftsman. This is pretty expensive, but can be fully grinded.
The items you buy in the mists can only be used in sPvP, as soon as you leave the mists your gear will change to your pve/wvw gear.
Dungeons: They are more challenging team content with a reward thats higher then usual.
some advantages:
- they are more challenging and imo more fun
- An experienced team can do for example ascalonian catacombs in 15 minutes and you get over 1,5 gold (one path per day, soi not repeatable).
-it also rewards dungeon tokens wich can be used to get exotic gear. For example a 2h weapon cost 390 tokens, wich equals 6-7 runs (60 tokens is garanteed but its also a random drop in the dungeon, so prolly 6 runs).
- the drops are generally better in dungeons.

I this agree with IC, The fact that its not listed here as an official retailer, doesnt make this company a company that obtained the codes they sell illegally or through black market. Also Someone bought it directly from NCsoft at one point so they got the prize they wanted for it.
For the OP. Reading the reaction of the reseller I think they are actually afraid you will open a dispute.
I am not a specialist and it depends a lot on the law valid in your country but in most country’s customers are protected.
If this would be my country (the netherlands), by opening a dispute and getting the money back you force g2play to indeed make a claim. To do so they need to hire a dutch company to get the money. They did not give detailed instructions to not use this key on a blocked account. So they failed in giving decent instructions.
If a dutch company would make the claim, explain in written reaction that the claim is wrong due to the fact that you where not warned in the instructions to not do this.
Write this reaction to all claims they sent to you. Ultimatly they have to go to a judge to force you to pay up. This might actually be a swing. Unlike some country’s there is also something called common sense in my country’s law (here it is impossible to file a lawsuit cause you where not warned for the hot liquid in the cup cause it is considered common sense).
But swing or not at the judge, in my country I find it very unlikely that given your response that a judge would rule that you have to pay the money AND legal costs.
If you do go this path I would recommend to get legal assistance of a local specialist. In many country’s you can get this assistance for free.
My guess would be that this company would try to make the claim but considering the costs and the risk of loosing will never go to court and take their loss. That is why they are so explicit in warning you bout the consequences. They know it will be difficult to claim it.

Also, don’t forget World vs World. Connecting to World vs World (key ‘B’ by default) for the Borderland of your world will spawn you in a citadel with easy access to banks in the form of crafting stations outside (east of) the citadel, a trading post, and merchants.
Then simply log out to character screen and log back in to be teleported back to where you were before you went to World vs World.
I would not recommend this. Yes it is convinient, but you are not doing your world any favor.
The amount of players in the map can influence the ‘outmanned’ bonus. Removing that bonus while you are not doing anything. You alone is not a huge difference, but if everyone would do this the map would be filled with not fighting people.
Please only enter World versus World if you plan to fight or want to spend badges of honour.

After you purchase the book you double click it and it gets consumed.
If you then press ‘P’ you got a new option to start a squad. That will make you a commander.
Besides your tag you also see a bufficon as proof.

You can order with one emailadress and register the account to another. Cause there have been some issues due to not doing this right this is what you should do.
a: buy a product key, use your own emailadress. You recieve the code.
b: sent the code to your friend
c: your friend goes to this website and makes an account. He can choose any emailadress to use.
Also make sure your friend stores the code very good (tell him to store it digitally and printed). Cause he didnt pruchase himself he can get an issue if he doesnt have the key later on and needs for example a passwordreset.

There are two trains.
1: The queensdale train
2: The frostgorge train
the first is indeed primarly used for leveling characters. But as you figured out for yourself, it is not very good for your first character cause you dont get to learn how to play.
The forstgorge train is in a max level map and is mostly done to grind money.
Now you are in a new map and you encounter the reall activeness of the game. How active or unactive it is depends off course on your server. So I have no comment or judgement. Just saying that Queensdale is artificial active due to the train.
Also, I am assuming you are in Kessex hills. This place is nowadays deserted. The living story was there and changed the map a lot. This means it is actually harder now then most level 15-25 maps. On top of that, the experienced players have been there since halloween to do the living story content. So there is a lil bit of Kessex Hills sickness as well.
My first recommendation is to check out a different level 15-25 area. This is the list and how to get there
Brisban wildlands: west Kessex hills, there is a portal in the northwest corner.
Diessa platue: North of the black citadel (charr home town), there is a portal directly from the black citadel (near the black lion trade post)
Snowden drifts: North of Houlbrak (norn town), to get there you need to go through wayfairer foothills (norn starter area). this wayfairer foothills is east of Houlbrak, when you enter, go strait left (north) and keep going north. the portal to Snowden is in the northwest corner of this map.
If going to these map doesnt change your experience you might want to try and guest on higher populated servers.
As for where the most players are
- the two trains
- in dungeons
- in WvW/pvp
- in town at the trading post
- at the current living story (at the moment in lornar pass and bloodtide coast, but thats for level 40-ish or higher)

before GW2 I really hated playing games that used wasd. ButI got used to it in no time.
Something I did in the beginning a lot and helped me a lot was to practise when ‘idle’. Say you just started your characters in Queensdale and you, as an experienced player, are doing some stuff on the TP. Get her to practise. The bridge there is ideal to practise. jump up the rail at the side of the bridge, try to follow that. Also when going from a to b, practise. don’t take the normal route, but challenge yourself. It is the best way to train yourself in the gw2 movement controls

It would really help if you say the name of the storypart. I played through them all and do not recall this one.
you can find the name in the top right corner of your screen (green text).
-edit: think I found it, is it rage supression??
In that case I recall that this is very hard with a melee weapon. You might want to consider getting a decent ranged weapon (longbow or rifle) and use that to kill them off while you kite/dodge their attacks. After the first few are down it gets easier and better. Also, when you respawn you can use the ranged weapon to split the enemy forces.

The difference between humans and asura is the size. As a small fighter you haveless overview in a battle and its easier for your screen to fill up with the fight. The small size however is an advantage in small confined space like e.g. jumpingpuzzles or when doing vista’s. So I wouldnt call it easier on a human, but different :P
For the rest: yip, you got a bank where you can story items. (keep in mind if an item says soulbound you can store it there, but another character can’t take it out).
You can find banks in all city’s near the tradepost (Rata sum: center of the middle level, divinity’s reach, upper Dwayna road).
You can also access your bank from ANY crafting station

I asume that with S/T you mean sword torch
The problem is burning imo. The torch depends a lot on fire condition. But investing in condition damage and duration will take stats to do so. On top of that, the issue with conditions is that there is a max amount of stacks a foe can have. If you prefer solloing this isnt a big issue. but with world bosses it is cause he will reach the maximum amount of burning pretty quick. In dungeons it gets ugly too, cause there are professions that burn a lot better then you, by burning too much you actually limit them and bring your party down.
So the good thing to do is to leave the torch if you want a good dps build.
This means the sword has to go as well. The other off-hands are not focused on damage at all but protective. so thats no use for a dps orientated build. So lets look at the one handed weapons. For your secondary weapon, you really should go with staff and use empower to build up might on you and allies. Then the main the weapon would be either GS or hammer. Both are very dps orientated. where the GS scores higher on the DPS and the hammer scores higher on the crowd control (so lesser misses). This setup would go great with a bezerker build (though see my note) so using power, critical damage and precission in both traits and gear.
(note: some change to critical damage has been anounced, this can make some changes but by the looks of it not much, cause it is the most expensive gear in the game I wanted to warn you bout this)
So bottom line, with G/S no valid dps build is possible and it is considered an oddball.
No. Please don’t do this. Your sword does not have to go. Sword auto chain is the highest sustain the Guard has. Sword/Focus is the meta and for a good reason. GS is your secondary for burst.
Do not waste a slot in combat on the staff. It brings nothing to the fight unless your party is miserably bad and you need might. Then, only use it before combat for might and swap out.
Don’t ever drop light fields in the middle of fire fields and ruin might stacks. Hammer is a decent weapon for certain situations as well. It is not really DPS oriented as the fella is saying. It’s defense oriented. It provides prot and can be very clutch in the right situation.
Check out Obal’s Guardian guides for PvE.
I am sorry to dissapoint you, but the numbers tell differently.
If you compare the sword attacks with the first 3 skills of the greatsword. and take in mind that in a cycle you have skillcooldown and casting times, You get an average of
2192.3 dps on the sword and 2375.9 dps on the greatsword skill 1-3 (damage multipliers like power neglected).
On top of that, as stated, before the offhand weapons a guardian has are mediocre compared to the skil 4 and 5 on GS and hammer.
I am the first one saying you have to play the way you want and if you like using a sword, please do so. They are very viable, but when it comes to raw DPS it is not the best.
As for the staff. For a long time I have been very ctirical bout the staff just like you. On raw dps it scores low indeed. But the 1 skill is a projectile so hitting multiple targets, where for gs and sword only the third effect is a projectile. The might also increases the damage output a lot if you party is dealing allready good damage, so it is ALWAYS welcome in a DPS build (specially if you stack just before the fight so you can switch to your other set without cooldown) Besides that, in many dungeons skips are used for ‘trashmobs’. You signet and line of warding skill on the staff helps a lot with skipping more quickly and efficiently.
Off course, the staff is not always viable, so you have to know when to use it and when to switch to another weaponset. I will never do e.g. the fire ele in metrica with a staff.
Again, it is great that you defend your favourite setup and if you enjoy that, pls do so, but don’t say other setups are not as good just cause you like your sword more
It often also comes to playstyle and how experienced you are. As said I tried the staff several times and even ditched the one I had several times just cause it felt as rubbish. But seeing others using it very succefull I gave it another try, it took me several weeks to get the hang of it, but now I would never want to trade it out ever again.

Thank you both for the replies. I did provide the product key initially, and for whatever reason the initial tech did not use it. The ticket was escalated and a GM did in fact solve the issue.
I love happy endings

Curious about inappropriate name suspension
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
Indeed, do not necropost and do not use half information if you do post.
When agreeing to the terms of service you also agreed to abide the naming policy. By choosing an inapropiate name you breached those terms of service. Normally with most breaches a first offense will result in a 72 hour ban. With MOST inapropiate names support is nice enough to let you get a way with a warning and a FREE name change (keep in mind this service normally cost 10 USD). In some extreme breaches of the naming policy (ones where it is very extremely clear that it is inapropiate) you get a 72 hour suspension (and still the free name change afterwards).
If this is your first offense and if you believe your name was not so inapropiate that warrants a 72 hour suspension, you can file a support ticket. Keep in mind that the handling of support tickets also can take up to 72 hours (though in my personal experience, it is in most cases a lot faster).
The amount of caps in your message do show you are upset bout this. But I would urge you to keep it civil and correct, in the end it is something you want from them and you made a mistake. They are just doing their job
Good Luck!! :P
