This is not an account issue but a technical issue. If your want to discuss this with other I would recommend posting this in the technical issues forum. If you want to see if Anet can fix this, please file a support ticket.
1: Go to pvp (the two crossed swords in the top off your screen)
2: Travel to the heart off the mists
3: Optional: do the tutorial if it is your first time (you can skip by running to the portal on the other side off the tutorial area)
4: look into the pvp locker where these are stored.
I assume you are talking bout critical change??
According to the wiki it maxes out at 100%.
Keep in mind that lots off confusing exist cause glancing blows can’t crit. So people who got specced to 100% and dont get it often assume its capped below 100% while actually they only hitted a glancing blow. This should be easier to spot now though since the most recent update.
Full set : unavialable
Some pieces (including the coat) are story rewards
With the introduction off the official tradehouse in GW2, direct trading has become something that (if not among friends/guildmembers) is often used in scamming. This results in a situation that it isnt a very popular feature. On top off that, Anet wants to prevent people to be scammed and have a high promotion factor towards usage of the TP. This is clear in the way they promote the tradepost in hints/vids/tutorials, but also how they dont help when you got scammed when you didnt buy at the tradepost.
This has leaded to a high popularity of the official trade post. While an auction house is legal, I fear that if it (would) exist, it would mainly be used by scammers.
Also note that at the beginning it is reasonable easy to gather achievement points by finishing jumpingpuzzles/dungeons/storyline chapters/mini dungeons for the first time.
I think where the failure is lies in the rewards. You don’t get nowhere near enough rewards for doing DEs compared to other things, because karma is not very useful. Also, doing something extremely short and simple like killing a champion gives the same if not more rewards than a long DE like escorting someone, so no one does the escorts.
We agree, this is something we’ve been discussing a lot lately and working on some various answers for, but I’m curious:
What rewards would you like to see from rewards? Would they be different when you’re leveling up than when you’re level 80? What would motivate you to want to go around the world playing as many different events as possible, rather than the same 4-5 over and over again?
Some of the fun challenges we are currently solving, but it’s great to hear peoples thoughts on this subject as well.
Colin, I’m pretty honest that I think that the LS rewards should contribute much much more to the general farms. You did a great job for that on scarlets invasion and the queens pavilion and thats a good start. The reason why I’m saying it is that I allready discussed it in a different thread bout the champ bags ninja nerf.
You want us to stay hooked on this game and we love to stay hooked on it. One element is the introduction off some hard to get items like e.g. the legendary. You made a good decision to make it really hard. But currently you are kitten ing people off by destroying farms that are good for getting the items needed. People really get their hopes up on getting the legendary sooner cause a new farm is discovered and are really angry when it gets removed (I’m one off them).
The reason you need farms in my opinion is that you cant deliver content as quick as people can do them. So to keep us hooked you also need farms. Whatever you do wont change it. But you can use the living story to make it more controlled.
At the moment it is running from farm to farm waiting till it got nerfed and move on (and being angry bout it).
In the living story you can put farms that are obviously temporary. But if they contribute to the goal many people have (AP’s, legendary, cultural armor) it would be much more interesting. It even doesn’t have to be as good as other farms in game. Personally I dont play to have a legendary. I play to have fun, and to have fun I dont want to mindlesly do things but have a goal in game. It is why I’m going for eternity. not cause I really want it, but cause it gives me a goal to play for. The real reward is fun
So keep us hooked and keep us having fun, can be combined in the living story. It would feel much less being a labrat while you try to balance the farms to experiment with temporary content.
I think that on warriors and guardians you should always have one melee set and one ranged set. Some enemy’s are a pain to fight melee and some are a pain to range. Being able to switch is imo very valuable. So that means choosing between greatsword and hammer.
I find this a great idea.
Maybe to go further, change attunements CD, that after changing attunement, the atunnements dont go on the short cooldown till you acutally use a skill to enable ’browsing ’ through attunements. If attunements are on a long cooldown then it is skipped in the swapping.
The statues get inactive if the pact control that gods temple (can be in a different map). So if a statue of balthasar is active, you can check the website I mentioned and guest to a server that has the temple of balthasar open. On that server all balthasar statues in the Orr maps will be uncontested as well.
inappropiate guildnames can’t effectivly be reported ingame. Best is to make a screenshot and file a support ticket. Atleast thats what the support liason told me some weeks ago. It is up to support to decide wether or not a name is inappropiate and not us
Also pls edit this thread. Naming the person and the guild is considered harashment and against the forum rules.
You can buy the quartz off the TP.
You can also get a friend that did the bazaar and got the quartz node in his home instance. Let him open his home instance when you are in the party and you can farm that node as well (once per day). The last method is time consuming (only one node available with on average 3 quartz), but off course a lot cheaper then buying it on the TP.
Skillpoints: Noose Road: This one you actually need assistance. often this can be found to just wait near it till someone else comes around. offer them a deal. He agroes them chap while you commune and then you agroes the champ so he can commune. It is possible to get a lot off clones to get the agro for you but its very tricky.
Winterknel Isle aka labyrinth. Work you way through the labyrinth, kill all foes on the way and take your time finding the right route. Make sure you dont rush and at the skillpoint you got it cleaned before getting the vet out.
Grave Cay: both sp’s there are commune if I remember right. No special mobs, you jsut have to clean.
Skillpoints with statues like meladru, the skillpoint in cathedral of silence and poi and wp at the narthex.
These area’s are a no go area solo unless the pact controls them. You can use external sites to see wich servers control that so called ‘temples’ and gues to those servers. The Nartex is also called the gates of Arah.
One good site is gw2bear.com
Also if it says unknown they been gone from a few updates by now.
I would advise against going by the ‘unknown’. I have seen people who had been online 1 hour earlier, without any patch, going to ‘unknown’. It is a very bad and faulty indicator.
‘But why say play the game where you want how you want??’
Nobody is forcing you to do different. If you play World events you get access to certain named weapon drops like e.g. genesis.
If you play dungeon you get tokens and specific dungeon gear.
If you play WvW you get different tokens that can be spent on WvW rewards.
So each kind of gameplay has a good amount off rewards unique to that activity.
The legendary means you need to master all elements off the game. Not just being good at dungeons. Farming path 1 CoF as a zerker warrior and pressing 1 isn’t a challenge. it is time consuming and shouldn’t mean you get a legendary (using CoF as an extreme example).
There are plenty very viable ways off gaining karma. So if you want to get a legendary, explore those ways.
Hi Marstead,
Event windows are not official released informations. The basic form around DE’s is that they are ment to be random encounters. Off coure. Tequatl as a random encounter is different, the chance on event windows is something that isn’t published in patch notes.
So the only way to find out if the window has been modified is to test it yourself. Best is to note the spawning times, look at the differences, to find the aproximatly times.
You might want to ask the help off one off the event trackers. For them it is easy to build a database, to gather the information needed for a few days.
Yip, big kudo’s to Tirzah and her team:
http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/c/2391662
I’m a male. The reason most off my characters are female is that I spent most time looking at the back. And personally I prefer looking at a womans back.
Bottom line is that most female players I know prefer playing female characters. for male players bout 50% prefers playing a female character (and indeed not to impersonate a woman, I seldom do that but cause they prefer the looks). the other 50% prefers a male character.
This means there are more female characters in game then male.
the locker offers a preview off armor, but not something you can really wear in PvP. You need to play pvp to unlock it (or be lucky with the AP-chests).
Almost all sets (2 exceptions) there can be obtained in PvE as well. They often have different names though. Off course, just as some off the more interesting sets in PvP are hard to unlock, the same goes for PvE.
to ellaborate more. there are two important reasons to supress. The first is too prevent ‘childish’ players (or in your case unpractical players) being too annoying before GM’s can take measures. The second reason is to stop goldspammers. If the exact time off the supression is known, it would lead to the goldspammers to program the spambots to counter the supressions.
The tocix content is mostly played in a level 15-25 zone called Kessex Hills. A little bit can be found in the level 1-15 zones Queensdale and Caledon Forrest.
Yes I am the one who is very strong against speaking on the behalf of the community. I’m perfectly ok to express myselfand I don’t take people who say ‘The community wants this or that so do it Anet’ serious at all. Speak for yourself.
I also see I hit a serious nerf when I compared Scarlet with Rurik off a lot of people taking in half arguments. All I’m saying is that The devs here have said they heard your voices bout Scarlet. They are going to take it into account. But the story now has to be told and finished. I also truly think that many people will think different bout her when the story is been told.
The problem with the living story, specially compared to a regular story, in my opinion is that people have a lot off time to reflect on it and make an opinion bout it due to the time it takes to tell the story. This makes reactions and thoughts about it stronger then it would be if the story was told more linear like the personal story. or the missions in GW1. Also the introduction off the main villain should be done less fragmented. Those are important lessons.
I think that the living story should be set like the harry potter books are. In book 1 the main villain is introduced and set perfectly, He has killed the heroes parents. It is very clear that he is the bad guy and it is very clear why he is the bad guy.
In all the books that story develops, but the main storyline for each book can sidestep (the hero must flee an evil escaped prisoner thats after him, compete in a tournament or deal with a mean teacher). So each book has a story thats started and finished within that book.
So while I love the personality off Scarlet and the way she is in the world, and even though I don’t mind the ‘fragmented’ storytelling, I can understand how it doesnt work in some other peoples mind. And I do agree that in the future Anet should tell the story less fragmented. Make a clear introduction for the overarching story where it is clear what we are dealing with. Also make sure that each smaller arch (the 4 weeks) have a clear substory with a clear beginning and end.
No need to make a suggestion?? what do you want to keep off the sword?? the skin?? or the skin and the stats??
To preserve the skin alone. Get 2 transmutation crystals and a white greatsword form the TP
Use one crystal to add the skin to the white greatsword stats. its now account bound. save it in the bank
Now you can use the second crystal on the character you want to use the skin on to put it on the right stats.
To reserve both the stats and the looks you need again a transmutation crystal and a white item. But now also get a transmutationsplitter.
1: transmutate the skin on the white gs and store it in the bank.
2: take the white gs with the right skin out on the character you want to have it
3: use a transmutation splitter to have the original GS with the looks and stats on the new character.
It’s more a matter of finishing what we started, implementing what we’ve already designed, and setting the game up for the next arc. I think it’s best that we try and give this story a satisfying conclusion rather than abandon it because some people aren’t fans of the villain.
I want to make it clear, though, that I’m not ignoring the opinions of people who don’t like elements of this Living World story. Folks such as yourself have made it pretty clear why you don’t like it. You just have to understand that catering to every taste and dropping everything that’s currently in progress in favor of a new idea just isn’t practical. But we can take that feedback, discuss it along with the rest of the lessons we’ve learned over the past year, and take it into consideration as we plan future releases.
Thank you.
As a developer you need to make choices. Some like what you are doing and some don’t. In the end you want that most people like it. Not only from a commercial point of view but also cause you are artists. What if Picasso never sold his paintings but burned them?? some people would love if he did cuase they dislike it, and some would be really disappointing. You can’t please everyone, but it is a learning process.
also don’t forget, you are Artists (with a major capital A). you should listen to some extend to the people disagreeing, but the story hasn’t finished, it is in progress.
Lemme take us all back to gw1 (prophecy’s).
The first few missions we got Prince Rurik. He was annoying. He was a pain. He is the most hated NPC in the gw lore ever (still beating Trahearne AND Scarlet with a landslide). But also remember the moment he got killed. It was the only GW1 cutscene I would NEVER skip. I always was cheering when he got killed off. Then the story went ahead. At the end he reappeared. OW heaven. he is going to die again. OW EVEN BETTER!! I get to KILL him!!!
The hate off a character off a story in progress also means it might be the perfect villain, cause those who are now saying (with good reasons) how irritating she is, are prolly be very happy to kill her off.
She is supposed to be a villian you are going to like killing her
the only criticism bout it I have is that she is made too unlikable during the waiting game till that moment.
rasing max level to get more traits:
No!
The reason is that you have more then enough points to make a build but you have to choose. You cant have all traits, but thats what makes you different then others. Many mmo’s have very generic builds per class. You unlock everything and use what you want. This leads to a lot of equality. all loremasters in lotro are the same. All loremasters are expected to play the same way cause thats optimum.
The beauty bout GW is that we need to make decissions. You can follow a build online or make your own. but one guardian can be very different from another guardian.
I would even recommend on making your own guild and not following an online okayish build. first off all cause you dont know how it works, or atleast not as well as when you designed it your own, but more important cause when you design it yourself, you can adept it to match your personal gaming skills. I’m proud to say that all my builds are made by myself. They fit me like a glove and really make me do the best I can.
As for getting bored in using the same skills. you can always change!
The daily activity also awards a minimum of 600 per match.
True, but I think most people know this. The OP wants to buy obsidian shards. They cost 2100 karma. So thats 3,5 days per shard in that method. The more important part off the daily is that you get laurels. 3 dailies means 3 laurels that can be spent on 3 shards. So yes it is good to do your pve daily. it gives you 1 shard a day, plus and extra 2 every week cause off the karma (not calculating the karma from events in the progress off the daily)
Still small bits but yeah it helps!
I agree on this.
First off all a commandertag doesnt indicate a good player. it is just someone who gathered and spent 100 gold. It is basicly nothing more then painting a text on your head saying: I had 100 gold.
Some commanders are very good. specially in WvW there are good ones doing their jobs very well.
But lets take a general Scarlets invasion (as it goes on my server).
90% off the people that turn up wants to farm and follow a commander (perfectly ok if you want to farm championbags). bout 10% spent there time shouting and flaming in chat how bad the commanders are cause they actually want to finish the event.
This really happened numerous times. I am a farmer, and normally join the commander zerg, but to proof a point I have asked the people that wanted to finish the event (kill scarlet) to join me. We only had like 10 people, but we did the opposite off the commander and did many off the small scale events. We didn’t wasted time to flame in chat but we concentrated on getting as many events done. The result was that we did 50% off all the scarlet invasion event bar. The other 50% was done by the zerg, and we had 5 minutes left to kill scarlet.
So yes!!! dont follow the commander if you dont like what he is doing. follow your own goals. dont waste time complaining but change the world!!
Wha? who? Whu??
Your reallying saying that tequatl is hitting less??
The only reason you could say that is cause Tequatl has cleansers on turrets that are doing what they are supposed to do (if your lucky).
The major difference between tequatl and the fire ele is that at tequatl (at an organized attempt to kill him and when in the zerg) you need to stay on one spot so you get cleansed. Yes if you do the same thing at the fire ele you will be wrecked. At the fireele you need to keep mobile. dodge circles and ambers if you have initiatve, but whatever you do, do not stand still. if your skill has more then 1 sec casting time dont bother. keep moving and the fire ele is easy.
+1
Some zones are actually small, but some are much bigger then people suspect. So showing them on map would be a big help
Also pls realize this is a personal twitter account of an Arenanet employee who is showing enthousiasm bout the project he is working on for the next 4 months. This is not an official Arenanetmessage and not orchestrated by the marketing department.
Hmm, cause this can give a potentially big advantage but also have great usability I would say, yes, but no more then 4 slots.
How would you solve the issue with the bags allready in those bagslots??
Maybe make it a locked item (not removable after purchase) in a seperate extra slot. Also make it a hidden bag (last to fill, not available in merchant windows).
No and No.
Duelling: I do not PvP. Even with the off-option, people will go as a mad child calling you all kinds off childish things cause you dont duell them. Other games have proven how bad such a system is.
Viewing player gear: no. Wanna know my gear ask. If you have a good reason I’ll ping. But my builds are made by me and balanced by me to fit my playstyle perfectly. It is my product and none off your bussiness. Please judge me on my performanc ein PvE.
Why the heck would players hoard their champ bags? Christmas? Karma I understand since guilds and what not wait until they fired up a big bonus and then open them but bags?
And that’s probably the same thought process that went through ANet’s mind.
To explain this. There are several kinds off bags but a limited amount. when farming all other drops are almost all blues, greens and mats. so those are salvaged and sent to the bank with the speedbutton. That means you can park a character at the train without having to leave till you have a stack off bags.
The other reason is that people want to keep track off the drops and want to open a lot at the same time to see how much money they had before and after.
1: Join in fractals groups 10 levels below your personal level. You get a karma reward that stacks up nicely.
2: events, events events.
3: (only available right now) the introduction instance for nightmare tower can be repeated and when you use boosts it can give up to 3k per 15 minutes.
Can you please put the navigation also all the way at the bottom of a thread?
The reason is that the forum very nicely remembers what the last post in a thread is that you have seen when you return. So sometimes you end up all the way at the bottom. It is very annoying to have to scroll all the way up. So please copy this bar:
’
Guild Wars 2 > Forums > forum > Forum and Website Bugs’
’
To the bottom, so it is available on top and on the bottom.
This is as usual in the way that they need 4 months development time (thats why there are 4 teams desiging living story).
In the living story CD thread there was a simular enthousiasm from another dev. But poor use, we have to wait and see
…and the final bit
What about the poor souls on the worlds that fail?? Don’t worry. I think it will be equally rewarding.
The final story instance will be different from them. Even though a heroic last push off the player, they come too late and in a video we see how the big tree/flower in the tower comes to full bloom. In the process the flower itself is destroyed as well as the tower round it, but pollens will spread all over Tyria. In the dialogue with the npc’S afterwards they explain they where afraid that this might happen. Soon all off the world will be covered with these giant tree/flowers. The other NPC sees however a change. Luckely these seeds can only grow into a tree after 6 months have passed. So there is a change. So the NPC’s are going through the world removing all the seeds (static objects like the current pollens around the world, but you cant harvest them as a player and you can’t interact). The process off removing them is a slow one. Inthe mean time the coruption caused by the seeds will inflict the champions and veterans. At start it will be all off them (except in dungeons and very tricky events like Tequatl). But the NPC’s will go around the world removing the pollens and the polution they are causing. So each 2 weeks 8% off them will loose the coruption boon and after 6 months it will be all gone. This means fighting on these worlds will be significantly more difficult. It means it will be a more hardcore server. That is the first reward. The second is the collectible spores. Only on the world that failed, the champs and vets will drop them. They are still usuable to buy the recipes and are even used in more crafting recipes. Cause the worlds that where succesfull can’t farm them for themselfes, they need to buy them on the tradepost (but have more money to do so cause off the increased magic find).
This can be repeated by every living story arc (4 weeks) in simular ways. This means there can be worlds where fight difficulty is really enhanced to a high level with unique and better drops and worlds that have high magic find but easier fights and not the unique and better drops. On the world selection screen you can see an indicator of the current world difficulty (each failed story gives on point).
When guesting from a fail world to a success world you will have the same easier fights, but not the magic find boost. When guesting from a success world to a fail world you will retain your magic find boost and will fase the harder fights. But the foes wont drop the uninque items (the toxic pollens).
When changing world (paid world transfer) from a fail world to a success world you will receive the boost for that world. When changing world from a fail world to a success world you will loose your boost (and the foes will drop the unique item like the toxic pollen).
So to summarize. My proposal is not to make the worlds look significantly different. But it is to make a difference between the fights difficulty and rewards on the worlds.
the second part off my post…
So how would you try and solve this? And a second question is how far would you like to see the impact of say a tower in Kessex be felt content wise? The balance here is of course total volume of work for those involved, to literally have the entire world react to what’s going on would take us 6+ months to build, which at that point isn’t actually meeting our goals of a regularly changing and evolving world.
As for DE’s and their impact on the world. And also how you can let the entire world react to the impact. I think it is possible.
There has been talks bout making it so that a fail off a succes has an impact. I think it should, and that every living story chapter should have a 6 month impact. And I think it is possible without having to redesign all maps.
Lets take the nightmare tower in consideration. Off course this won’t be incorperated there cause its too late, so its a bit of fanfiction how it could be if this living story was playing 4 months from now.
Soon the story arc concludes, servers are tasked to do big scale dynamic events in Kessex hills and try to take the tower down. These tasks are tracked by a world monitor and failure or success will be a tip off the balance. Actually 50% off the worlds will fail and 50% will succeed. The amount off effort needed is measured by relative quantity off success in the individual DE’s. With that I mean the DE’s have to scale well for the amount of people doing them. This scaling system has to be optimised to make it fair!. At the end the worlds with the most succesfull finished DE’s will have be successfull in fighting the tower and those who don’t qualify will fail.
So the first difference between succesfull worlds would be a different story conclusion instance being presented to players. For players on a successfull world it will be an instance and a video showing the collapes off the tower and the big plant inside. After that the NPC’s involved cheer and be happy and celebrate your victory and heroism. They join in a difficult incantation granting you 12% magic find. This permanent boost will decrease every two weeks with one procent (so after roughly 6 months the effect will be totally gone). This boost is the second difference.
…to be more continued
Didn’t react here for a while, but wanted to comment on a few things.
If gw2 isn’t going to get any expansions, can we get guild wars 1 utopia?
I understand your desire a bit, there are several things wrong with your statement. First off all, GW2 will have ‘expansions’ Collin’s 1 year interview a few months ago specifically said that. Second off all. GW1 is an abanded project. I loved the game myself, and its great to see that some people who dislike gw2 (wich is a totally different game) are still enjoying it greatly, but there is no way back for the course that has been taken.
Last off all, look at Utopia. Utopia is a cancelled plan for an expansion. The reason they cancelled is that they had ideas they where really enthousiastic bout but couldnt incorperate into the GW1 infrastructure. So instead of that campaign they made Eye of the North and GW2 instead. Many good elements that where in development for Utopia have been adopted into Eye of the North and GW2. So from that project all the good ideas are being re-used in other allready released content and that means that what is left off Utopia are the bad elements. So finishing that project based on what is not used untill now would mean an campaign made off bad leftovers.
Hi Jaken,
Good points. To answer some of your questions i would like us to continue the CD initiative indefinitely assuming we are ALL finding it to be a valuable exercise. In regard to this particular thread there is no close date yet due mainly to lack of time on our side. This allows us to give the thread the respect it is due. I am therefore unsure about when we will sticky the thread. I will know more when i have caught up a little bit, for sure though there has been a huge amount of value so far but i do want to continue discussing DEs pertaining to LW and peoples favorite and least favorite events and why.
Finally once these threads close we will have an open thread on the process of CD and what we can do better as a group and discussion around best working practices moving forward.
Chris
I’ll answer bout DE’s and LW after another quote. As for this thread and the CD. I would strongly suggest that when discussion is done a good summery is given and the thread is to be locked for 6 months. The reason is that we already see that some subjects that has been discussed to the bottom off the discussion still pops up (e.g. the views on scarlet and the views on the release pace), this shows off course how important it is to people, but currently those subjects don’t contribute anymore to the CD project. You heard all arguments you reflected, we reflected and you re-reflected. I hope and think this will be the case for all elements of this CD.
Why lock it for 6 months? First off all cause as you stated, it takes 4 months to develoop an new living story release. So to fully see the results we need to wait 4 months
But to have a good solid opinion like we have now bout the current we need to see at least 4 releases. So thats why 6 months would be appropriate.
After that the thread is re-opened for evaluation and possible repeating the whole process of sharing thoughts and idea’s
to be continued….
(but I rather have them delay it if they cant make it properly bug free before that)
If companies would delay stuff until they are 100% certain that it is bugfree they would never release anything.
I never said 100% bug free but properly bug free
there actually is (when it comes to skins). Transmutate to a white skin to make the skin accoutn bound, then place it in your bank, pick up with another character and transmutate the skin to an item with the right stats.
If it is the stats your after its a bit more complicated, but still doable.
1: Transmutate to a white item to make it account bound
2: place it in your bank and pick up on the other character
3: use a transmutation splitter to undo the transmutation mentioned under 1.
This way you can do it for all items that can be transmuted.

That is great that the issue is resolved, but is anyone being held accountable for this? If only to enlighten them on the proper procedures so as to not have something similar occur again.
An GM responsable doesnt do his job on a personal title but he does his job in the name off Arenanet. So if he made a mistake, then Arenanet made a mistake. Another person (Gayle) has appologized in the name off Arenanet. So Arenanet made a mistake, they corrected that mistake and appologized for that mistake. So for that they did what they can. I’m pretty sure that anet has internal quality checks and employee permance monitors. If an employee isn’t functioning to the right standards on a structural base I’m also sure they will help this employee with additional training or other measures to solve this. But thats an arenanet internal bussiness. Not something we should be concerned about.
First off all, I wonder why you are asking it. In some games there are really big advantages for having certain combos (healer/tank/dps for example). But in this game these advantages are so slim you can actually just play what you like.
To answer your question, a combo off engineer/guardian/ele would make a good combo off different classes. The reason is that they all can have a protective role, you get good melee damage, you get good dps, and you get good cc.
But then again, at the moment, warrior is a bit OP, so running with three warriors is just as effective.
Very dissapointed in Arenanet. Not only do they make a mistake in not sharing in a highly important update. Not only did they warn people to open their bags before hand. Not only didnt they discuss such an important update before hand and gave us the opportunity to discuss things with us. Not only is this the 5th nerf off a very okay farm where any logic reason is missing. But on top off that the so called economist thinks he can do with these kind of notes on our adress. Sorry to say, you might be a very good economist, but your PR skills are certainly lacking.
And no im not harashing you or blaming you. Each and everyone off us have different quality’s but I do urge you to see that and let these kind off communications done by the professionals you have in house.
Part off my anger is also that in the economic system, the art off flipping is protected and preserved. It is extremely lucrative to ‘work’ the market. In essence I don’t have an issue with it as long as the people bringing in the money for those flippers are protected as well.

‘Guildwars’ has to do with a historic event called the guild wars. In these events (before the timesetting of guildwars 1) human (npc) guilds where fighting eachother.
These wars are not playable content and never have been (with the exception off an april fools game thats a parody on the movie back to the future).
I think you mean the pvp – content called guild vs guild in gw1. Please dont mix those terms up!
I think an adaptation for guild vs guild fights in current pvp maps would be a nice addition.
Also Devs never respond to suggestions. This has not to do with being rude or not being interested. They read everything (or so they are claiming). As I understand it has to with copyright issues. If they comment on it, it would confirm that they have readed it and the person making such a suggestion could claim copyright over it.
It’s stated many times that they are developping that fractals. But AFTER voting ended they started developping it. So when it is ready it is ready. They have given an estimate that it would be before the end of the year (but I rather have them delay it if they cant make it properly bug free before that)
I think you mean with DoT you want a condition build (some AoE skills like e.g. meteor shower are considered DoT, but cause off the short duration and local effect range, its more a dps skill). First you have to understand that conditions are considered weak compared to other kind off skills. But with the right traits and gear and skills it can be pretty good (almost awesome).
Though both the ele and the mesmer can deal nice conditions, the best scholar class is the Necromancer. They really know how to poison, fear, bleed, poison, cripple, weaken and torment foes.
My favourite is to go to deathshroud, use one skill to torment the foe (give them dot thats increasing when they move) and then fear them (force them to move away triggering the bonus off torment).
Most WvW players are aware that score system in WvW is lacking to say the least. The server with the night crew wins every time. This bug can be easily solved with this solution:
TAKE THE TIME TICK SCORE OUT OF THE GAME
Server should only get points for capping objectives, not for holding it for a certain time.
That way, if a server with the night crew takes all the maps, they only get points for taking them once. This will nullify (yes i play mesmer) the ridiculous score advantage a server gets playing when their opponents are sleeping. It basically determines the match in the first night after reset.
Also the blood-lust bonus would still count for a score, i believe its a good mechanics and it would make even more sense in this context, if the nightcap server takes all maps they can still work on their score by going out and fight,
Someone please give this a serious thought
kindest regards,
and you`re welcome

First off all I dont think the issue is as simple as that the server with the night crew wins. The first reason is that that would mean that all servers with night crew would be top 10 servers, and all with no crew would be in the bottom, they would never have to fight each other, so the problem would not exist.
My server is currently doing very good at the night, but a week ago it was reverse. We didn’t suddenly get a night crew.
The issue is that at night the amount off players grow thin and differences between server are more visable and even switch. The result is that the world that is winning during primetime, can be loosing at night, just cause they are not as good at those times off day.
I know that is not nice for those who have been hard working during primetime, but your suggestion would be not nice for those hard working during the night.
Also it would mean people would care less bout defending, making them easier to capture by an enemy world (who then lets it undefended so another world captures it again).
My alternate suggestion/solution would be to make a more direct balance system to overcome out-manned situations. Make the scores depending on the amount off people.
I’m using simplified numbers to illustrate it more.
Lets say it is prime time. World A has 100 players across all WvW maps and world B has 80 players and World C has 90 players.
This means that World A has a 20% advantage over world B. World A have a 10% advantage over World C. The average advantage for World A would be 15%. Cause small difference shouldn’t make a difference in scores, 10% is reducted. World A has a 5% rewardpenalty. So if they control stonemist castle they only get 33.25 points for it per timetick they control it.
Same time, world C has a 10% advantage over world B, but also a 10% disadvantage over world A. They don’t get any penalty. So if they control Stonemist they get 35 points for it.
World B has an average disadvantage off 10%, small difference shouldn’t make a difference in scoring, so they end up with no penalty nor boost either. So they get the regular 35 points for stonemist.
———-
Now lets move forward in time in our virtual match. It is 4 am in the morning and there are some difference in population.
World B suddenly has 100 players (like i said im using simplified numbers), World A has 50 players and World C only has 20 players.
Now to make it a fair game a new rule kicks in, penalty’s and bonusses can not be more then 25% in total.
So World B has an advantage over world A off 50% and over world C off 80%. So their average advantage is 65%. again 10% is deducted. So 55% is left. They would recieve a penalty off 55%, but cause the penalty is limited to 25% max that is the penalty. If they hold stonemist castle they get 25% less points. so thats 26.25 points per timetick they control it.
World A has a disadvantage off 50% over World B, and an advantage over world A off 30%. This means they have an average off 20% disadvantage. Cause 10% is deducted, this means a bonus off 10%. So if they hold stonemist castle they get 38.5 points per timetick.
World C has a disadvantage over world B off 80% and over world A off 30%. So their avarage disadvantage is 55%. 10% is taken off thats means a bonus off 45%. But!! as said it is limited to 25%. So if they hold stonemist castle (outnumbered 10-100!). They get 43.75 points per timetick they control it.
2 important notes:
a: the boost are calculated for the combined population off all 4 maps. this to prevent commanders moving forces from maps where they control a lot so they receive more points per timeclick.
b: to prevent worlds without a queue withdrawing all people just before a timeclick is made cause they lost a lot, just to reappear afterwards; the boosts are calculated once every hour and based on the average population over the last 2 hours.
hmmm, no.
I know why you are asking this, but part of WvW/PvP content is recognising what skills your oponent is using. The abillity to change the color means that would get significantly harder. Some skills are very much alike. How to recognise the difference between e.g. chaos armor (mesmer skill) and sancturary (Guardian skill) if the difference in color is gone??
So for cosmetic purposes it would be nice, but it would make pvp/wvw harder, so therefor I vote against it.
First off all, I would recommend to do it on a mesmer. Sources are not clear wether or not this rewards for all light classes or only for mesmers. I suspect it rewards for all light classes, but I wouldn’t take the risk.
Secondly, I would recommend to use several methods.
1: you can easily do story’s up to 10 levels above you if you got help from a level 80 friend. So that would mean you dont need mroe then level 29 to get the coat.
2: You might want to consider using an experience scroll: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience_Scroll
This scroll is obtained from AP-point chests and a birthday gift. This will level you up to level 20 instantly. Combined with the XP from story’s and help from that friend mentioned, I imagine the amount off leveling needed is very little to none.
3: if you dont want to use the scroll or still need to level a bit, then WvW is very reliable. However, do consider this is the WvW first tournament season and you are, as said, not optimal. This would mean that if there is a queu, your taking a spot for a level 80 player on your server. I’m not saying you shouldnt, its up to your own judgement
