That could be awesome! Like the Abaddon’s fractal :O
The proposed abaddon’s fractal (that as stated will never come) was never to be bout the destruction off Abaddon like the nightfall missions, but how he was removed from power by the other gods and casted into the realm off torment and locked up.
I do think the suggestion is a good one, but I dont think it should have any priority. I think the story off gw2 should be told first and we should have more and betetr working living stories. If all else is done, this would be a nice addition to the game.

Also what do you mean with defensive?? in what kind of content? open world PvE, dungeons, WvW, sPvP?? Also do you mean selfdefense or group defense (aka supportive).

My two cents bout the discussion wether or not champfarming is desirable or not.
I dont care!
Any MMO needs some kind of grind. (new and refreshing content cant be develloped as quick as players can play through it) In the CD thread devs have explained very clearly they have trouble finding a good reward system.
My issue and anger is not cause I’m claiming that champfarming is the best system. But it is a good enough system to cover TILL they find something better.
At the moment when it comes to owPvE (open world PvE) they are struggling very hard since launch to get a good reward system. So far every experiment they tried leaded to an undesriable effect and they nerfed it. Where other activity’s like dungeons and WvW got upgraded in rewards hugely. So they are using the owPvE community asa labrats. They should stop that and reverse things untill they figured their things out to do properly. Dont use the people to experiement. It is not unreasonable to call champfarming to easy for the reward. But it is also unreasonable to not give any good alternative owPvE reward. Some people dont like dungeons (and dont give me the crap that I’m a bad player, I got dungeon master, I just dont want to do more then 3 paths per day). So their should be a good alternative.
Too bad that Anet doesnt take the owPvE community serious and let John Smith slap us in the face like he did here without any proper more serious comment. I do see that you care, so step out to show it in here.

I’m not a big fan off using the leaderboards AP system for finding inactive members. The reason is that it is inconclusive. Yesterday a good friend of mine who is extremely busy can online for the first time in 6 weeks time cause she scraped together 30 minutes free time. (Like I said she extremely busy). In those 30 minutes all she could do is fill in two hearts and unlock a waypoint. After that the time was gone and she had to go again
I prefer an approach with special ranks for suspected afk-ers, and promotion when you see them online. This is much more personal then looking to statistics that are not 100% accurate for the goal.
So I find it important to give people the change to see other solutions then yours. That doesn’t mean yours is a bad one. It shows how desparate guilds are for proper ingame tools and how ashamed Anet should be for treating guilds the way they do right now.
As somei feedback bout the data your collecting, I would rephrase the output lines to show accuratly what the data means. Guilds that use this method need to known and understand this data is not conclusive or 100% accurate.
Something like this:
’
Kuzzi.2198 no new AP for 44 days

I’m a bit uncertain why you are posting this in a public forum if you are certain that Gaile will review the case and take your feedback into account??.
Maybe you would like to warn people not to use support? Why should we be warned? Maybe you want them to understand that they need to improve. Well like you said yourself, you trust Gaile. Honestly, if you trust her this much this is a stab in her back. Specially cause in your warning you disclose no information what so ever bout what is so wrong with support.
I got about as much experience with customer support and my experience with Arenanet support has only been good. Yes it is not as good as Blizzard. But thats not something I would expect from a game without monthly fee. But it is, considering the budgets one of the bests customer supports I know.
Sometimes things happen. One can be a transistion off systems. I know from personal experience what kind off issues that can cause in specially waiting times. But that is often caused not by bad support, but by technical dificulty’s
I also know that support sometimes have to take a more neutral tone. This has to do with security issues. sadly it happens that hackers or other bad people try to mislead support. So when these kind of situations appear a more neutral tone is needed.
So if you still think you have a valid reason to stab Gaile in the back like this, atleast give her a fair change and say what happened to you. She can defend herself and we can judge for our own. Untill then I have to respectfully go with the opinion that this thread is an unfunded and actually outragious complaint.

Just wanted to add, besides a huge thankyou for this approach that there are some out there that do identify themself with the villian (know who she is) and do like that character. Although I’m a minority, I have expressed both my personal thoughts as well as trying to compromise with the other (bigger groups). But hope you don’t forget that some actually like Scarlet. Specially cause, many times, the people who like things often dont take time to express that on a forum (not saying that the complaints here arent valuable, as well).

Hi Nick,
You said it very right, some people claimed to have their accounts permantently banned. without an option to appeal it. The word here is ‘Claimed’.
I use a simular but different example cause it is much more straight forward. It happens often here that some complains here bout a suspension for bad language, saying (very convincing) they never said something wrong. Gaile comes in and respects someones privacy and describes it as a reference to certain body parts.
What I’m trying to say is that accounts issues deals with people who are supposed to have done something bad. Some are false, or semi false or hacked or have a story behind it, but sometimes the people responsable just fail to see that they did very wrong. Or they do know it but are so bad they keep claiming how wrong Areanet is. In the end off course it is a matter off trust and personally I trust them in those conflicts. but they also need to deal with privacy, so even when the person claims to be judged very unfair, they cant defend themselfes with the facts they obviously know.
So don’t believe always what your read on the internet and trust Anet for doing a good job

No No No No.
GW1 was totally ruined by heroes. People tralalala-ing through all content with no effort needed. Worse thing bout what once was a perfect game. Keep it far away from this one.
If people treat you badly, report them. if you want to play on your own with others play skyrim or something like that. This is a multiplayer game.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Why do you want to level so quick??
This answer might seems strange. But there is no reall endgame. There isnt an endless geargrind. Yes to do some content you are required to be level 80, but most off the time you do the same thing when you are level 40 as that you do at level 80. Just enjoy the game around you do what you like and please instead of looking at that bar going up.

it seems that spreadshot never made it to the ranger’s bow kitten nal. But the fact that it has 5 arrows in that fashion shot out it seems they moved it to the Ballista.
As for shieldstance. This skill is develloped from the gw1 skill where the cooldown was 15 seconds. They obviously decided that it would be too powerful that short when they later on developed it.

I just read this on Reddit, a player that hadn’t logged in in a while was sent 400 free gems while that put the time into actually playing the game get the same reward for reaching 5k/10k achievement points. Perhaps I will not bother logging in just to do daily’s until an expansion and wait a couple of months for my free Gems…
Perhaps you should know the facts. Anet “gave” him nothing. The player had amassed a good amount of achievement points and quit before they added the achievement chest. Then when they came back and opened all of their chest, received the 400 gems from 5000 achievement point chest.
Nothing special was given to that player for being away from the game. Reddit forums are just like any other. Always beware of anyone stating something as if it is a fact.
As stated elsewhere in this thread, the Reddit thread actually shows the mail that was sent. It IS NOT the 5k AP chest. The actually mail had a code in it to redeem the gems in game like a prepaid gemcard.

I agree with the exception off the detonate button. Detonate is actually pretty powerfull in damage, and has saved me several times (out of health, protection and just slightly alive, but so was the enemy, detonating my turrets pushed him to dead and I survived).
What bout…If overcharges needs an amount off energy to function and will leave the turret out of energy…change the skillbutton to detonate when there is insufficient energy. It would not only be a good way to teach people to watch the turrets energylvel, but also to not just spam the button.
The icon change should be very visable. Energy levels should be visable in the skillicon as well. (maybe a circle round the turret that fills).

As being said, support can tell you wether or not you are right or wrongly suspended.
I think bunk me harder can be seen as a reference for sexual intercourse. The problem is when some words are replaced to hide the purpose. This can be done in a funny and therefor accepted way, or in a lesser funny way.
Lets take the example of a ‘pheasant plucker’ On itself there is nothing wrong with it. but it can be seen as something totally different and you could very succesfully claim it is the goal to be seen as completely different. The question is if it is humoristic.
As for your case, the replacement word is a game term used in certain aspects off the game. Keep in mind that a pve-er might never have heard of the word bunker. So in my personal opinion it isnt offensive. But then again im actually hard to offend. It was offensive to someone and that someone reported you. support viewed at it and agreed it might be considered to be offensive and can be seen as a breach of the code.
So even if it is not offensive to you or you and me think it would be ok to use it. Ask yourself the following question: ‘If it was offensive to someone? Do I want to be offensive to that fellow player?’
My personal answer would be no and I would change the name (which you should be able to do now if this is your first time offense)

the owner of Bot’s don’t risk their account. Most/all bot’s are hacked accounts So thats not valid. The amount off effort to hack an account is high compared to the amount of effort it takes to get an hacked account to start botting. So the person behind it wants to minimize the risk off detection. Going to a low populated area makes up for any loss off gold gained.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Don’t do either.
The effectiveness off the extra mf/goldloot is small. Besides the MF/gilded doesnt effect what comes out of containers like champboxes. only direct loot.
So imo its better invest in stats that help you fight quicker/more efficient then in these kind off stats.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
You cant replay any off the past living world content. They are preparing some fractals to summarize the most important and fun bits. The temporary content had a lot of critique and the team is activly working on more permanent content for the living story. But for now it is as it is.
The most important two changes in gear are
a: ascended gear. This started almost a year ago with ascended trinkets and backpiece. Just recently this has been adapted by the introduction off ascended weapons (craftable as acccountbound only). soon we will get ascended armor as well.
b: no more magic find stats. Magic find is now completely accountbound. You increase it through salvaging fine/masterwork items or ecto’s. If you still have an old magic find gear on your character or inventory you can double click it and choose wich stats you want from now on (currently all stats are removed on those items).
Last off all I would recommend statrting a new and fresh character to refresh your skills. Just to get the hang of things again before you dive into dungeons or living story content.

I was in cursed shore on Gandara yesterday morning to farm ori/wood and people where talking bout it in mapchat. But being busy with other things I decided to check it out later. By then CS was deserted, and no sign in mapchat or anything bout it.
So what is this train exactly?
What are the stations?
How to recognise the train?

I think youget a lot more rewards from AP-chests thenjust 400 gems .
That doesnt mean I understand your feelings. I have not an issue with Anet giving out free gems for returning players. but it should be balanced with the rewards that regular players are getting.
But then I find it difficult. If I had stopped playing, anything below 400 gems wouldn’t be an inviting reward to change my mind. However rasing the amount off gems off the 500k AP chests would lead to a big impact on the economy and gemprizes. Specially cause it should be done as well for all that allready got 5k ap’s (and those with 10k ap’s as well).
Maybe a solution would be to introduce Red Gems. Red gems have the same value as the regular blue gems. But can’t be sold for gold. If you have both red gems and blue gems, when you make a purchase this will be first be taken from your stock of red gems and then from the stock of blue gems (unless your buying gold).
The returning player reward should be 400 red gems. In the 5k/10k etc AP chest should be 400 blue gems and 400 red gems.

No, It is not possible.
GW2 has a trial feature but just not a permanent one. There are trial events (so far there have been 4 since launch, but they seem to be more frequent now-a-days.
Besides that you actually broke the user agreement. Sharing an account is not allowed. The most important reason is that when the people sharing are not being friendly to eachother any more, this often results in account ownership disputes and support can’t verify who actually is the owner off the account cause it are two people. You actually see that on a small scale in your situation where it allready is ‘your girlfriendscharacter’ while it is your account. So she is actually claiming ownership over something that is technically yours. As said she is your girlfriend and your doing things on a friendly base. So its not an issue here. I also dont think support will make a big issue out of the breach of the user agreement. But I hope you understand that such a feature doesnt exist cause there is a difference between not making an issue when someone breaks a rule to actually helping to break a rule :P
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Addiction is a very difficult term. Basicly is that your brain and body is so used to certain substances or behaviours that it cant function properly without it. Naturally all Humans are therefor addicted to oxigen and water. This addiction is even genetical cause we cant even survive withtout it the second we are born.
There are also more common addictions that are still very acceptable. One is the biggest drug in the world called Cafeine. This drug however has very little side effects and has a big advantage. its a stimulant that makes us more prductive.
So being addicted is not a big issue. It can be an issue if your addiction has bad side effects. For example, people can be so addicted to playing games like this that they dont clean their home anymore or don’t sleep at all.
Also some addiction can have social side effects that in the long term are something you will regret. A partner leaving you cause of it can be one of them.
So yes you are addicted to playing GW2. But you allready are in the process off getting off the addiction. You are realizing that the reason for playing for you is gone. I’m not a trained therapist, but I think you can handle this without any help. Important is that you delete the game. For your own protection you should also change your password to one unknown to you and destroy any proof off ownership like the productkey. This all to prevent you from having week moments.
I believe then you can ‘cure’ on your own and dont need a lot of help or attention.

I bought GW2 at launch and played it for only a few weeks. a few months ago it was hacked apparently =/ now i logged on like yesterday and i was banned for botting.
facedesk
i sent support a ticket and stuff but i just wanna know from the forum how likely it is that ill get my account back. i aint spending money on a new account. =/
Hi,
I think it is very likely that you get your account back (considering you are right bout your claim being hacked).
Support can investigate the period off botting and likely can confirm your account was logged in from a different location. So it is something that in most circumstances can be verified.
If you logged in yourself after december 2012 you can also get an account restoration (before that there is no data known to know what to restore it too).
I also advise you to take a good look at your personal computer security. Hackers often have access to your email-account as well, and might have keyloggers installed. So please do a full security sweep and change your emailpassword and ask support to help you change the game password. Also make sure the passwords are different.

If you want to trade with people you cant trust you should use the TP. The TP is designed for secure and safe transactions. Transactions through email are only used amongst friends (based on mutual trust) or by scammers. The answer is to use the TP.The answer is NOT the TP. The Black Lion Trade Post, while awesome for what it does, COMPLETELY LACKS the feature im asking for.
I’m asking for a secure way to trade directly with other players.
The reason people want to trade this way is either they got scammed or cause they wanna scam. Give me a GOOD reason to trade this way. I have given arguments that history has proven it is misused a lot by scammers and goldsellers. You can see that in any old game. So give me a valid reason and I might want to agree. I dont see the purpose at all and don’t want them to waste time on an unneeded feature.

If you are hacked you can also request an account reroll. This is only done once in a lifetime. You need to have been online after december 2012,

where can i find U/S in game ?
Combat should not slow down characters at all..
U/S is in game in the way range works Just see how far your range 600 weapons fires. this distance takes you 2 seconds to bridge if out of combat (with no buffs). So out of combat speed is 300 u/s
I believe that a combat should slow down. As I tried to explain it has very good reasons and removing this mechanic would mess up things a lot.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The movement speed is indicated in u/s (units per second), where a unit is an ingame distance-measurement that is the same as the range of weapons.
Normal speed is 300 u/s
When in combat this is reduced to 219 u/s
This is done for two reasons. The first has to do with melee/ranged problems, where someone in combat could avoid melee forever. The other is to prevent trains (pulling mobs of enemy’s after you).
A signet granting 25% movementspeed will result in a movement speed of:
375 u/s if not in combat
262 u/s if in combat. So it still has effect but just not that much.

The aquisition off luck is very balanced, changing anyway to make it easier to obtain luck would break that balance. At the moment the amount off money lost cause off salvaging luck means you need to play a long time afterwards at max magic find to get that money back.

To explain. Anet has stated many many times there is an auto-detection system that marks suspicious activity’s. An actual suspension is done by a GM personally. This off course doesnt make the system fool proof, GM’sare also persons and they are reviewing data (gamelogs). So they see the situation with different glasses on. Nevertheless, they are trained to do so but mistakes can happen.
This heroic chest you normally get when you start playing the game with a new account (heroic edition or digital deluxe heroic edition. It might be that your account got changed to a heroic edition due to this situation.
Keep in mind that the support liason Gaile can review the process here and the way things where communicated to you. She MIGHT be able to tell you what the exactreason is you got banned, but she might also not be able the reason is that the exact parameters on wich those auto-detect systems work are being kept secret. If such a system marks gold transfers between accounts higher then e.g. 50g as suspicious, the gold sellers would only sent 49.9 gold per time to avoid detection.
So I’m certain that Gaile will review your case and give you some feedback, but you might not get the exact answer you seek.

To explain further (cause you seem to be handling this in a bit light way).
To gather access to your computer the hacker has access to your account details. On top off that the extra security is that the hacker got access to your email account.
The reason your account is locked out is cause the hacker not only got your username password, but also got access to your emails. So even if you don’t have interest in this game you need to take actions now!
If you have trouble restoring your security on your own or even understanding what I’m saying get help from what (respectfully) would be called your local ‘nerd’. You have a big issue here!

In my experience there are some usefull items and some sellible items making it interesting to go ‘keyfarming’
Keyfarming is the process of making a character and doing the level 10 story as soon as possible and then deleting again. Mostly this is done by human warriors off commoner background cause this storypath doesnt ask a lot of traveling, and doesnt need any leveling. (my record is 35 minutes, but generally it takes me kitten minutes cause I spend time with chatting in guildchat. Bout 50% off the farms I get something thats worth it (Mini to sell, transmutation crystals, bl ticket scrap, and stuff like that).
Most off these items I would never buy directly on the gemstore. So it is convenience. The main reason I do the farm is cause I actually enjoy it.
My advice if considering it is to do it a few times and when you get the hang of it decide for yourself if you like doing it. If you dont like it, its not worth it. If you do find it enjoyable, then go ahead.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
First off all, Anet not often reveals who is responsable for which part off the game. If you want to give compliments or feedback please do here. And (specially when it comes to a compliment), I’m pretty sure it gets relayed to the right person.
In some cases they have confirmed it.
Keep in mind that when the name of Knut (the norn) was chosen, Knut (the icebear) was still alive. The first time the name pops up is in the gw2 book Edge of Destiny that is released in December 2010. Knut (the bear) died a few months after that release.

There have been people posting how they are completely uninterested in the game since release. As seen above they are still posting this. They will be posting this long after I have moved on to another game. Weird hobby.
Yeah I always wonder how it comes. I heard a lot of Blizzard employees have more free time since GW2 got introduced… But guess I shouldn’t think so evil (although I do think that Blizzard would be capable of pulling something like that).
As for the OP’s question. I enjoy still in most things I do in the game. Bout some things I’m grumpy, but thats more RP then really not having. So yes I’m actually having a lot of fun still.
Some decisions made by Anet have been bad decissions. But overall I’m pretty happy.

The Vigil allows entry off there ‘inner’ instance as well, but as the priory vault some parts are restricted. In case off the vigil its the two rooms at the back. In case of the order its the college-hall.
The chantry off whispers is an all instance keep (no part off it in the open world) that is also open for all, but have an inner sanctum thats closed for non members.

Just to explain Elites (silver rings) have always been here. The sequence off quality off mobs is (from hardest to lowest)
Legendary (purple ring)
Champion (gold ring)
Elite (silver ring)
Veteran (bronze ring)
Normal (no ring)
There has nothing been changed bout elite (silver rings) mobs recently. The only difference is that to make them more recognisable, they have been given the name Elite. (so an Elite Risen Gorilla was called Risen Gorilla with the same healt/armor/skills/DPS but only recognisable as a hard mob by the silver ring and not the name)

Simple answer: No!
Guilds are and should be able to govern themselves. I think that it would be wrong if Anet would put anything in place.
Just make sure that you keep your security tight enough. In my guild only 2 people have access to the ‘good’ stuff. They take it out if needed. All the other 498 members have access to the other stuff, but thats mostly leveling sigils, leveling food and stuff like that. If thats gone, well meh.
Dont blame anet or anyone else when your guild got robbed, but review your internal policy.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
1: unidentified person is indeed when they left the guild
2: support does not deal with internal guild affairs. It is hard for support to tell if the person who did it did it without permissions and the complaint comes from ‘guilddrama’.
3: Therefor supprot does not have tools to support the items.
I would strongly recommend being more carefull in who you give access to the high value items in the guild bank. In my guild there is one secured tab where the ‘good’ stuff is being kept. Only two people in the guild has access to it. So if I as an officer need stuff to organise an event I need to ask for it myself aswell.
So for general purpose keep two off the tabs for all members. One tab is for a very select group of people who can be trusted 100%, both for themselfes as for having their security in order.

Hi.
Games are often very different. There are many differences between skyrim and GW2.
The first and most obvious is off course the MMO-element. You are playing with other people and/or against other people. This is very different then Skyrim. In here there are thousands of heroes running around. Not all can be the Dovakhin, so the game treats you as a lesser Hero.
The second reason is that This game is much less focused on RP-ing. The most elements are there but its a lot less embedded, its more a game then a world.
Maybe you can explain what you like about Skyrim. What kinds off activity’s did draw your attention there?

Not going to happen.
The only reason they would do that if people stop buying bl-keys cause they are fed up with RNG. I only hear complaints bout RNG, but don’t realise that complaining and still buying wont help a thing. All Anet is seeing is that the keys are selling and they are making a huge profit on it, so there is no reason to believe the NRG-haters and adept the system. So if you want RNG removed from bl-keys, then stop complaining but most off all stop buying!
Nothing will be changed as long as a lot of people are buying the BL-keys!
