How does ArenaNet define "excessive farming"

It is not forbidden to farm. Ask for explanation and supporting evidence of you “botting”, otherwise, if none is provided, demand exculpation.
Anet will pretty much laugh at that. It’s their game, and therefore their way or the highway unfortunately, and they like the “highway” option, especially when someone might be getting ahead.
It is 100% allowed to farm and there is no limit to the amount of farming (although you can be hit by diminishing returns).
It might happen that you are identified as a botter. The process of identifying has three steps.
a: Your account is flagged suspiccious. This can be done by another player who thinks you are a bot or by ‘bot-detection’ software.
b: A GM will evaluate the evidence against you and in the case the outcome is that you have been botting you are suspended.
c: at this point you can appeal the decission.
Anet will never provide evidence. The first reason is that they dont have to. The terms of service is very clear that Anet can suspend an account without any reason (though they never will). The second reason is that the evidence would learn bot-writers how to bypass the filters and avoid detection.
Some have claimed that they have been falsely accused of botters. Of those who appealed and got a negative final answer, I never saw any evidence they didn’t bot. The people botting can easily say as well that Anet is wrong and they profit from putting Anet in a bad corner. The amount of people making these claims do make me suspect the latter. This situation is very very rare.
Poitus, this is the players helping players part of the forum. This is not the place to troll around.
Yes, if you have rl money and if you are willing to spend them it is perfectly ok to do so, but in my opinion the real enjoyment is to play them game.
OP: you are obvious thinking bout 3.2 gold per hour. This is possible and doable, but I wouldn’t recommend it. A legendary is mostly for show. The stats cab be obtained a lot easier and it doesnt make you a better player. In my opinion it is the road to it that count. Besides that, the 2000g is what is needed to buy sunrise. besides the precursor it take a lot less time to get the ingredients together.
The precursor itself, wel anet promised to change the way to get it (Anet why wait so long!!??).
But for me, the reward is not the goal (the legendary) but the road to it. The fun I have when playing the game. When I get my final legendary (eternity) I need to find a new goal..
Is it legal??
In theory yes. It is a bit of open software freely available. If the purpose is to help anet with the distribution by posting it on outside sources it is perfectly fine.
HOWEVER!!
Though kind people do exist, I would be highly suspicious bout these kind of things regardless off the source and prefer the launcher on this website. The reason is that it is easy to alter the program slightly to add e.g. some code to intercept your account details (result would be an hacked account) or to give you access to illegal servers (resulting in an account ban for life).
Bottom line. Yes it is ok, but highly undesirable, as others stated, why not download the launcher directly from this website??
The report option in the game is used for bugs and bugtracking. You dont get a personal reward.
To get a response you need to post a support ticket. You can do it on this website, in the top you see ‘support’. clicking it brings you to the support website and then you can submit a support request.
Goodluck!!
afaik there are not a lot of american guilds on EU servers. I do know more NA-people who play on european servers. Mostly on english servers where people speak english in most guilds.
You can check your server in the character selection screen (left side in the info screen when you select a character).
I am personally playing on Gandara and as said, I have met people from teh states and canada, and most people here speak english (we have some foreign guilds but they mainly use mapchat for recruiting).
The benefits of joining a guild differ per guild.
Many builds are running buffs. These buffs are ‘paid’ by influence. the more active members a guild have, the more influence they gain and so the more buffs they can provide.
Wich buffs a guild run depends on the guild. Some smaller guilds are still trying to unlock guildmissions and are running little buffs. Other guilds are specialized in WvW and run mostly buffs for WvW..
Many PvE orientated guilds run guildmissions. these can be done once per week (and there are 4 types, so you get the reward 4 times max in a week). Succesfull participation will result in 50 silver, 2 rare items and 1-2 guildrecommendations that can be spend on e.g. ascended trinkets.
If you are interested in guilds, you can use the specific subthreads. There is one where you can post that you are looking for a guild and one where guilds post that they are looking for members. Make sure you ask them bout things important for you. Good questions are:
- Are you PvE, WvW or PvP orientated?
- Are you running boosts and if so wich ones?
- Are you doing weekly guildmissions and if so wich ones?
- How many active members do you have?
- Are there any rules I should be aware of?
- What aother things are you organizing for your members?
I am sorry, mr, but this is not caused by lag. It is a different ‘bug’ altogether. It happens when completely alone, and isn’t always caused by the bundle anomaly, either. There are several threads on this, as it has been happening for a few months, ever since a certain patch. (I can’t remember which one.) I don’t have an issue with lag, especially when alone, and it has happened to me. I have not experienced it ever in high-population events, as others have, though, so I am lucky that way. You (having frequented Account Issues) know as well as I, that Support isn’t always 100% accurate with their responses. This is something the game introduced after/during a certain patch. If the search function worked, it would be easier to find the threads with Dev responses on this issue.
IC, My points was not to provide evidence it is lag. I just don’t know. The OP (and it was moved here from the bugs forum by mods) has had an argument with support and they where calling it lag. So I was playing the devil’s advocate to help get all the possible arguments that it is lag out of the way.
Due to the pleassant conversation with the OP I’m pretty sure no support agent or support liason can still claim this is lag
Sorry to see you didn’t get any reactions, I’m a european player so don’t know a lot bout NA-worlds.
In your case you might want to check out leaderboards.guildwars2.com
This site let you see the top ranking World versus World servers. It is adviced to not pick the highest ranking ones if you dont want queues. TC is high ranking so can give queue’s. However, this tuesday a new map is going to be introduced in WvW thast will function as an overflow map. So instead of wating in queue you can go there and play WvW but then without scoring points for your homeworld.
The PvP-leaderboard is also helpfull cause you can see where the top ranking players are and what server they are on.
Hi corpsman,
Can you elaborate more on the experience with support?
There are in my opinion two possible situations.
1: You opened a ticket but never recieved a final answer
- Please post the ticket number in the designated sticky (‘Tickets for review’)
2: you recieved an answer but you are not sattisfied by it and want a review. In that case it is important you update your original post with your ticketnumber.
I would like to stress out that support has limited tools. The do not have tools to create items out of thin air on the live servers. So in situations like this it is often not a matter of not willing to solve the issue for you, but not having any way of being of assistance. If that is the case you can appeal as much as you want, but I find it highly unlikely they will develop those tools just for you.
If support can’t solve this and you want to delete the birthday gift you can drag it out of the bank and into open air. It either gets delete directly. or asks you to type the name to verify.
Goodluck!
It is indeed strange and I suspect it is something in how TDS handles things.
Following a trace, I end up in madison WI
Doing the Whois I end with the seatle adress
I suspect that it is cause your ISP works with short leases on the IP-adress. To lower the pressure on the system, Arenanet does a Whois for one IP-adress but sees that as a the location of a full range. This would make sense cause it is very often that those adresses will have the same adress. However, if from that range the adress is leased to places all over the country you’ll get very odd information.
A possible way to check this is by making sure the IP-adress is the one currently given to your computer.
Lol those 2 vistas tht u listed are one of the few ones i had problems with. i actually youtubed those to learn how to do but for most of the vistas I didn’t. I will give u a hint on the LA one though its similar to the diesa plateau (?) one where u had to launch urself on some catapult to get on top of that tower vista. for the caledon waterfall one, I think I also had problems with that. Like most of the vistas I have difficulty with I’d try to go around to look for way up but to get it its actually very simple. look at youtube one for that but they should make it look easier, it can be deceptive but all u have to do is jump straight to it, u shouldn’t have to go around at all. the only other 1 i think i had a hard time with that one in mount maelstrom or something (?) where u had to jump through all those branches thru trees to the top. if u have world completion you’ll know what i mean its probly in one of those Orr areas, it was inside a cave and kinda hard for me to jump to the top.
The tree thing sounds like Vizier’s Tower which is in Straits of Devastaion, next door to Mount Maelstrom. It’s also 3 different things. A Jumping Puzzle, a vista and a skill challenge.
I think he is talking bout the cave near fort trinity where all the juveniles are. that is a nasty one too.
Viziers tower is more difficult in jumping but it is easier to see where to go imo. It only got two nasty jumps and the reason the tower is notorious difficult is cause those are at the end and missing them leads to a fatal death. But it is still not hard to figure out what you need to do, just to do it
Listen, I’m not against you or the person to fight. I’m trying to help to cancel out the excuses they might have. You are talking bout a worldboss. This means that all players have a lot of boonsactive. only by hoovering over you see the source of a boon (and cause of stacking it changes a lot). So how come you are sure your friend knows your boon got to him, and not someone else boon thats doing the same??
Interesting, seems people are noticing it . anet won’t tell us why its happening and how we can get it working again. Since I did a fresh install of my os, and the only thing on the computer was gw2 that clearly pointed away from my computer being the issue. Ports are open, my mac address from my computer has priority 5 on my Cisco router, and I’m sending it out to the ISP as a priority packet ( which they ignore) point being I’m doing everything to help the problem and it still is laggy after the ddos attack. We need more people on this so anet sees this issue!
The problem is that I do believe its not an issue at arenanet.
Officially you are responsable for your client and your home router.
Arenanet’s server is technically only a client as well. All they need to garantee is a working internet connection on their server (capable of getting the workload).
To simplify the situation.
See your connection as a letter. You are responsable to put and dress on it and a stamp and give it to your local postal service to deliver it. Anet is the reciever, they need a local postal service and a mailbox that the mailman can put letters in.
It is your local postal service that is responsable to deliver your letter at areanet. you are paying them (through that stamp) for that. If it fails it is their fault.
In this case your local postal serbice is your ISP. They are responsable for a working route to the arenanet server and that is what they are not delivering at the moment. The simple fact that way too many service providers dont take that responsabillity doesn’t mean it is Anet’s fault. They do not have control over the route you take to their server. The only party that has control over that is your ISP.
Do they tell you that?? or do you see that??during lag, the game client will try to process everyone you do. so if you move forward you will move forward. but you will be teleported back when the lag is over (the so called rubberbanding). Same goes for shouts. You hear the shout, you see the boons, you see the boons on your party members, but in reality it isn’t there. yout partymembers see you standing idle and don’t get the boon.
This is not a bug. As you said you allready talked to support and they allready figured out it is a network issue (lag, not caused by Arenanet).
the reason shouts SEEM to be working is cause they are instant casted and don’t wait for the server to tell your client it is working. But you really aren’t shouting. If I stood next to you your shout would not effect me cause you are lagging.
All are doable.
Ogham wilds: no jumping required, you can walk there. so if you think you can’t reach it cause it is two high, you need to go around to walk to higher grounds.
Ruins of the unseen: Ok this one is a lil bit tricky and I used a guide on youtube on the first try. So I’ll spoil more. To the north is an area with someskritt. in a corner are some boxes to climb on, use that to get on some scafolding on higher ground. follow that and go udnerneath the vista to the other side of the wall. there you will find a way to go to even higher grounds. use that. The last jump to the vista is very tricky. Use a speedboost to help you (although it can be done without a boost).
The one lions arch. Very small hint. Socialize with the people nearby, specially the ones hiding in bushes

Yes I have.. I even left in in my bag for awhile and I have filed a support ticket over 21 days ago with no response
Thought I would ask here to see if anyone has had this issue or if it can even be fixed.
I added a new ticket today
1: close the new ticket. Opening multiple tricket will DELAY your answer and not speed it up.
2: look up the ticket number of the one you posted 21 days ago and post it in the thread called ‘Tickets for review’. It is in the sticky. You should always get an answer within 3 days after posting a ticket. if not, something went wrong and that thread is the place to let it know.
Multi-boxing is a unofficial term and can be used to desribe different processes (but most negative and not allowed).
You are not allowed/technical restricted to be logged in with the same account twice.
You are allowed to run separate clients on the same computer at the same time, cause of the first restriction, it has to be two separate accounts..
At any time for multiboxing and botting the rule is: 1 Keystroke = 1 action
So you are not allowed to control two characters at the same time by copying keystrokes.
So to answer the OP’s question. I think you want to go afk with one character (for example, guarding your spot in lornar pass for the marionette) and farm with a different character at the same time.
This is allowed and possible if the characters are on different accounts.
BTW: this has also been the rule in GW1. nothing has changed.
Juist a small note. Marionette’s landing has only be renamed, the ingame code is still the same, so you don’t have to rediscover it. If you got Maw’s Rise you also got Marionette’s landing. if you didnt got the firts, you wont have the second. So it shouldnt be on the list.

Just checked, and allready done by another nice person.
Just curious, and to have the complete picture. Is there anyway around that (can you change it?) ??
In my country (the netherlands) it is not common to have a creditcard. If people do have one, they are not commonly using it. That is why inside the netherlands there is an alternative system to pay online called iDeal(something Anet might consider supporting -wink- ). If I ever move to NA (no concrete plans for it) I prolly will own a creditcard in no time, but very curious, if you have a way to change it.

Have you tried taking it out of the bank first??
Anyway. if you want support to have a look at it, you need to file a support ticket.
I think the OP means that he tries to login, the game says that a validation email is sent to him, but he isn’t recieving one.
First question is if you checked ALL your mailfolders. Including delete items and spam box.
It also helps to put alöl emailadresses from guildwars2.com on your safe list. Disable all spam filters can also helps. If all fails you can make a support ticket. (top of this page) and they will help you find a solution.
Keep in mind that support also answers by email.

Also what do you mean by vansihing?? are they really gone? or just not showing.
Have you tried a different location to look into your bag or bank??
I happens to me from time to time (specially in LA) that the lag is so bad that the items are where they supposed to be, but just not showing in the inventory cause the icon hasnt loaded yet. Trying a different town to access those things always solved this for me.
Combat isn’t automatically over when the enemy is dead. So if the enemy has immobilzed you, you are still in combat. Same goes for all conditions, but also for boons.
So how long does this situation last and did you make sure you lost all conditions and boons?
A friend and I just started a dungeon instance. We created it because it’s our party and don’t want to be kicked ourselves.
Then we create the LFG: “all paths, zerker, 5k+ AP, 3 warrior, 1 ele, 1 guardian”.
A first guy joins. “What? Why are you in Cursed Shore? We’re doing Arah, not CM? Sorry, misread” – kicked
A second guy joins. “Hey, I’m in knight armor is that ok?” – kicked
A third guy joins. “I have only 300 AP but I’m zerker, can I join?”. – kicked
A fourth guy join. “Hey, I’m a necro” – kicked. You get it. Why should we be punished for the mistakes of the fail joins?
Again, you should be able to select with who you play before they join up. I totally agree with that and the LFG system should allow that. But as soon as you accept someone in your party you make the agreement that you have the common goal to work as a group. So yes if the LFG tool demands from people to pm you first (as an option versus the current system), when they join you there should be no need anymore to kick them.
The reactions here ismaking me doubt the community.
We are so far that it seems many of you find it perfectly ok to kick someone! And yes. I agree there are situations that a kick is ok.
Recently I did a AC p3 pug. The group was not perfect, but it was an all level group and most where ok. One person however didn’t udnerstand the corner hugging principle at the spider. We had 4 wipes before we got through. Off course we took atleast 5 minutes time to explain why it is important to hug the corner, but everytime, he started in the corner and was seconds in the fight in totally different places.
At Kohler same thing so we decided to skip him after two fails. At that point I warned him that he would be welcome, but the final boss required stacking again, if he would still be failing we had no choice then to kick him.
The burrows went surprisingly good. but at the final boss, again, he made us fail so we decided to kick him.
I understand that many people dont have so much patience, specially if you ask for a speedrun. But what surprises me is how many people think that a kick is something you do as if you swap a weapon. I think it shows how far the community has degraded.
Keep in mind, you can also ask someone to leave instead of kicking him/her.
If you ask for a warrior and get a necro, you can ask them to leave. I bet if you do so, they will in most cases.
A kick is something you should do if all other options are unavailable, and not the first option.
I think that shiverstone caves in sparkfly fen should be listed as well. The undiscovered artwork is a bit hard to see, no map exploration elements in it and no common place to go to
I do believe that all classes can bring something interesting to a party. They are all unique and have special things that are suprising.
Given your question I would not recommend warrior. The reason is that the warrior is very straitforward. They deal lots of damage and thats basicly it.
Necromancer has some simularity’s to ranger in playstyle (pets are basicly the same as minions, traps are the same as marks and wells). The deathshroud is unique and brings some very interesting aspects to the game, but I do think it doesnt make it much different from the ranger.
So that leave Elementalist and engineer.
Both are very versatile. The engineer is more versatile then the ele. But!. The engineer is good in almost every aspect of the game, but can never excell at any role. Versatile is the engineers trademark and nothing more.
My< advice would be the elementalist. First cause you can excell AND be versatile. In the stats you actually have a choice to make and it is important.
For example. The ele’s big advantage is that the dps is always good but the armor/survivabillity is bad. Going full bezerker is therefor a deathsentence imo.
But what is funny is that with the right skills/traits and stats you can actually build yourself really tanky. And the advantage of being tanky is that you can use the heavy skills alot, even though the casting time can be almost 4 seconds
With the attunements you can be very much versatile and the summoned weapons are plain awesome.
During GW1 I saw a very interesting guide on how to make gold. The basic essence is that there are some things to do in the game that is more profitable then others, but it is not an instant way to success.
The key to making gold is to set goals and sticking to them.
I assume you are not gathering gold just stock pile it but cause there is something you want. So first it is important to identify that object (aka shiny)
The second step is to stick to the goal and not get tempted by other things..
Just an example. My shiny has a name. It is called Eternity. I have been gathering money and other valuables now for a long time to get it (and off course having lots of fun playing the game in the meantime). On the path I got several other temptations. Some I did fall for. But always realize that in doing so your big goal will take longer.
In many casyes you have to say no to yourself. I did get an asended weapon for my main toon. But when it comes to equipping my alts andequipping secondary weapons sets with ascended as well as getting ascended armor I have decided to let it go. The amount of resources and money goes into it would mean several months delay in my ultimate goal.
So I’ll get the other ascended items when I get eternity and not sooner.
as far as I know it is pretty random. The way the system works (I guess) is as follows
Step one: the matchup is decided
Step two: roll an RNG to determine who gets what colour.
So keep trying and chacking after reset and eventually you will get it.
Subquestion: is the EotM going to be part of map completion or as southsun cove not needed for it??
I think it’s fair to say that it sucks that very little, if anything, can be done to legitimate griefers. However, as you very well know, what is and is not griefing is very subjective. What you would get here, with this system, is people who don’t deserve any punishment or debuff getting it, because it isn’t fair to anyone to have to carry someone.
Basically it would be a kitten after kitten saying things like “haha you can’t kick me because then you won’t be able to do dungeons so I’m going to sit here and do nothing.”
It’s a bad bad precedent, what they did in pvp, IMO. Doing it to dungeons would make serious dungeon runners who occasionally pug just stop playing, or perhaps pugging altogether (thus leading to not playing) because why should anyone who paid for this game be denied the right to play a specific part? I think it’s despicable, what they did to pvp. I don’t want it to happen to us too.
I think you have a point that it can happen that more people get punished. It is why the option to select before you start a pug should made better. If you gahter a group of people round you and enter a dungeon you agree on following some rules. One of them is that you have the common goal to finish the dungeon.
Will this effect some people who kick too easy? Yes. Is that and issue? No.
Again, an occasional kick is no problem. If someone goes afk for 5 minutes it is perfectly ok. If someone doesnt deliver what he promised it is also ok.
But in the current system we are all so obsessed with perfection in runs. Some people panic if the run takes 2 seconds longer then optimum. In some pugs they think it is perfectly ok to kick you if get launched into lava (SE).
The idea behind this is indeed that everyone should realize that when you enter a dungeon with a group of people and you decide to kick someone, you ARE griefing. The person who is kicked is not going to be happy and has a bad experience in game. If this happens from time to time that is no problem. But if you do it a lot more then average you have an attitude to the game that we (the community) do not like.
So the solution is to mark the people with a bad attitude. Namely those that kick people MORE then AVERAGE.
My main goal is those that grief through kicking at final boss. But everyone that kicks more then average has a serious issue in my opinion.
As said, the selection at the gate (with who are you going to play) should be made much better at the start.
What a ridiculous system. So I should get penalised because I don’t want someone being abusive, not pulling their weight, or even expecting to leech half the dungeon because they go AFK?
No, as stated, the whole idea is based on the fact that people who kick others on purpose to let friends/guildmembers ‘steal’ the reward they didnt deserve, will kick people more often then people who kick for legit reasons. So if you occasionally kick someone it wouldn’t matter at all.
@ Lillith. I don’t think that any change to the LFG-system will solve the problem of kicking at the end boss. (just at the start, as stated, I dislike the elitism in some LFG’s but it should be perfectly allowed)
The price has been the same since launch and hasnt changed at all.

Yes, it is.
IC is right. It is allowed to transfer any amount of money between accounts. The money has to be obtained off course in a legal way (multiboxing and botting is not allowed). To fight goldsellers, the is a restriction of the amount of gold a newly created account can recieve. This limitation is lifted pretty quickly.
Also keep in mind that transferring large amounts of money may result in an investigation by a GM to check if you are a goldseller. In very rare cases it has resulted in a suspension by mistake. As far as I know all those situations have been resolved pretty quickly.
You can help the GM’s by making clear what you are doing (type some text explaining the transfer in the email) and make sure your accounts are on same friendslists and in the same guild. Some people claim it is saver to use a guildbank, but I don’t believe that.
If it is true that you won’t trigger alarmbells when you would use a guildbank, then goldsellers would use that option more. Also trying to avoid detection can and will be seen as actually more suspicious behaviour.

Syberdoor is right, this is done to solve an exploit (something to do with vault transports in summoned in dungeons and newly invited guildmembers being able to duplicate items).
As promised I made a post in the dungeons’s part of the forum:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/dishonour-system-when-you-kick-someone/first#post3570713
I made it as short as I think was possible :P
Hi,
After talkin bout this subject briefly in a different part of the forum I was asked to make a suggestion here and throw it into the open for comment.
The issue is griefing through kicking someone out of a party.
First off I want to explain that kicking someone out of a party is almost always going to cause griefing. Cause it is not nice for the person thats being kicked out. TThere is however a reasonable small group of people who misuse the LFG system to find some random players to do a dungeon or some fractals with and think it is perfectly ok to kick those random players at the final stage in order to invite guildmembers/friends in to ‘steal’ the award.
I have heard so far two possible category’s of solutions to the problem. Mostly by people who are recently griefed.
a: Change the kick-voting system. make more votes needed, make it so that at the final boss, partymembers cant be voted off, etc.
I am against this. The reason is that the freedom to play with who you want is also very important. I do not think we should give up any part of that freedom.
b: Support should be more active and track them down. Yes it should, but they have limited possibility’s to do so. They can’t judge what the ‘quality’ of the kicked player was and do not have access to possible outside commincation like TS/VENT.
So what would my solutions be.
A dishonour system with build in name and shame.
This system is based on the believe that in normal situations you don’t kick very easily and as often as the ‘bad guys’ in this issue.
The system is pretty easy. If you kick someone while you or any partymember is in an dungeon or fractal you get an amount of dishonourable points. If you support the vote you also get a (lesser) amount of dishonourable points. Those points are accountwide and have an expire-time (so after a certain amount of time they are taken away again)
Stage 1 – people who kick regular get marked:
after an certain amount of points you actually get a permanent buff that doesnt do anything and that only goes away when you amount of points drop again below the treshhold for that buff. This means when your in a group with people you can always see that the people you are playing with are often kicking people. You are warned and you can talk with them bout the reason they got it (and leave if the story is fishy)
It doesn’t stop here. The buff doesn’t stop you from kicking players and there are also possible other reasons to get the buff.
Stage 2 – people who don’t change their behaviour and keep building up more dishonour points will get a dungeonlock for a full week.
They are welcome to play all other aspects of the game, but they can’t enter dungeons and they can’t join in. Instead they get an error message telling them they are locked out for xhours – yminutes – zseconds.
Important note: The amount of dishonour points and the time it takes for them to dissolve is NOT communicated to us (the players). The devs can actually adjust it if they think that it leaked out and people are misusing this to stretch the system to the limit.
‘Wait!’ I hear you say. ‘I often kick people at the start of the dungeon cause I asked for level 80’s or bezerker gear and they didn’t meet my requirements.’
I am personally not a big fan of elitism in dungeons. But I do udnerstand that some people just want quick and fast runs and want to be able to select others.
a: it is allready somewhat protected cause before someone in the party opens the instance you can kick people as much as you want to.
b: The LFG-system should have a big change if this is going to be implemented. This change is that when you put down an advert you can checkmark to make it a ‘closed advert’. A closed advert means people can’t auto join ormerge parties, but can pm the person who put up the advert. This pm is done through the interface of the LFG system and will sent the class and level off the player automatically with it. After reviewing the person or asking additional questions you can invite them to the party.
So this would be my suggestion to solve the griefing in dungeons
Please give me your opinions. Is it a good one? is it too complicated?? where do you think it could be simplefied?
Yes you can report it, if you know the time and date of the offense. But keep in mind it is extremely hard for support to judge in these matters. It often goes down the block where they have to judge if someone was a good player or not. Also they have to keep in mind that outside communication is used. So kicking without any communication might be cause of use of TS/Vent/raidcall/skype.
There are two factors here.
The first is a region check upon first login. If you buy the game in EU you need to login first in EU. If you buy the game in NA, you need to first login in NA (not using the territory’s but the two regions GW2 uses).
After that you can make an account and play anywhere you want. EU player can choose an NA server as the main server, and NA players can choose EU servers as the main. The only limitation is that when you are (in your case) on an EU server you cant guest or join servers on an NA server. But you can transfer to an NA server (if you pay the gems or delete all your characters)
I hope this helps someone later down the track. #262991
Thanks for the ticket number.
Your case is your word against the interpetation of the gamelogs as interpetated by a GM. I totally understand you want to leave the game. enough is enough, it is a free to play game (besides the cost to pruchase the game). so feel free to leave.
Gaile. the ticketnumber is here and the claim of the OP is clear. He is saying your logs can be wrong when it comes to lag. I hope you can shred some light on it. I do think the logs are right, but I also hope you and your team can find the cause of the consusion.
I didnt do HotW in a few months actually, so I amcertain I wasn’t involved.
As Gaile asked, I will start the topic. very likely tomorrow (well today my time but after I had sometime to think bout it). Just bare with me. Considering the delicate subject… (there is a thin line between ‘name and shame’ and harashment, as some has pointed out) I want to take time to make an easy to read (short) topic that is also to the point and taking both sides of the balance into mind.
The main issue is that Harashment (false reports) should be filtered outin any way while the people who are doing bad and hide in the shadows are exposed and are NOT marked as bad people, but just excluded from party’s for some time. I do believe it is in the numbers (how much wrong doings and how long excluded is making an accaptable split between good and bad?).
As said. I am going to try and make a good proposal in the dungeons forum (and not the pvp-forum as Gaile recommended, I think that was a small typo). But pls bear with me. This topic is complicated.
Gaile, thank you for a great response.
I have been thinking bout this issue a lot as well and how the really bad issues where avoided in GW1 (and prolly still are). In GW1 party’s where formed in towns or outposts and if you wanted to PUG almost always in AED (American english district). If someone was griefing in any way, word spreaded quick in the town or outpost that was used as the staging area and the community corrected it. I think that is still the best way to do it.
But in GW2, people can use the lfg system, misbehave and then hide in the shadows of they’re homeserver.
I know harashment is not allowed in the game or the forum, but one way of correction by the community might be to have a heavy controlled place (within or outside of control of Arenanet, but maintained by the community) where the name and shame can be done for the worsekind of people (the top 1% of griefers should allready be enough).
Another way might be a discredit system like in PvP. If you kick someone you get some points (maybe more if you are further into a dungeon), if you get too many points you are not allowed to use LFG for an amount of time. I consider myself pretty patient and friendly to other players. I have no issue to explain things and give people new to things all the time they need. But if I fail to explain the obvious and a player stands in the way of a succesfull I will kick that player. And I also understand that some people do not have that patience. With a dishonest system on kicking people you would promote pug’s and helping eachother, and still offer a good way for people to play with who they want.
Just my two cents, ignore me if you think im crazy (I am) :P
I dont know how long you have gone, but yes. living story has more permanent content to it.
Last update: a new worldboss, simular in difficulty to Tequatl (after the revamp in september). This is here to stay.
Before that, toxic off spring around the world that are here to stay as well as a nice redecoration off Kessex hills with some new and more challenging mobs. all here to stay.
Before that they replaced path fw-fw in TA with a new level 80 path that is permanent and is pretty challenging (no easy money though it takes time and good skills to do it).
Yes, living story still provides temporary content, but it is adding new permanent content too and it is atleast a lot more then just a small town (cragstead) where nothing is going on. Ow, and fractals got a redesing, with a come back for some temporary content (molten alliance duingeon, aetherblade dungeon). Basicly they added 5 new fractals
1: first part of the aetherblade dungeon
2: final bossfight of the aetherblade dungeon
3: first part of the molten alliance dungeon
4: final boss fight of the molten alliance dungeon
5: as promised by Ellen kiel a totally new fractal showing the destruction of the thumova reactor in metrica province.
Also in due time, they are expanding the WvW maps iwht the edge of the mist, it will be an overflow map (so you can play WvW while you are in a queue for the regular maps) but at launch it will be the living story map (dunno how they will do that, but I suspect that at launch they have a living story version and when it has ended it will be the new ’WvW map, or something simular)
Sootberne is not particular hard and has an easy trick to it. Camera position is everything. By using the camera position well at each jump it is possible to see where you are going and hit it right. but you need to adjust it at each jump.
Yes, I am sure. It was way bigger than a fire imp, and when I clicked on him it looked like a destroyer. Oh, and it had the “Transformation” buff.
The fire imp form is bigger then the normal fire imps.
Also. according to the wiki there is now destroyerimp form in any tonic. I’m not saying the wiki is always right, but well… go through the list yourself:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tonic
also. It happens that forms and names are loaded wrong. So it might also been a bug where it was another form but it was loaded for you as a destroyer imp.
are you sure it was a destroyer hapry and not a fire imp??
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystery_Tonic_
this one would have a change to make a fire imp.
This is not a bug. things are working as intended.
I do not have a personal issue with people soloing (or duo-ing) paths and selling the other spots at the end. But it is not the goal of the game nor is it what the game is about. For regular dungeon groups the whole lfg-tool and the kick people if you dont want to play with them is working as intended.
If you want to sell paths, please feel free to do so (no exploiting allowed though), but understand that it is not something that the game is designed for. The game is made so you complete a dungeon with a group of five players from start to finish.
What you are proposing is only to protect path-sellers, but pathselling is controversial in the community (like Sligh demonstrated) and should not be promoted by the devs.
Also, as said, this is not a bug and this belongs in the general discussion section or the dungeon section.
Loco, you are right that is a lot of a gamble. Thing is, when the next SAB is announced, given the fact that the skins from SAB1 where repeated during SAB2 (including new ones as well), it is likely to drop when the SAB3 is announced. People just gonna wait for it. Only if theSAB skins are not gainable again you see a slow incline afterwards again.
Personally I would say that the current price is a good price to sell, It is not going to rise a lot anymore till the SAB is announced. Then it will sink through the bottom. So in my opinion you better grab the profit now.
From an interview with Jeff Grubb:
‘Jeff Grubb: The Mists are the building blocks of reality, the proto-reality that exists between the worlds. It is where we find afterlifes and the homes of the various gods and other powerful entities. The Mists also resonate from the worlds around them, such that they form bits of their own reality – islands of existence that reflect the histories of their worlds.’
The problem is that we killed Abbadon IN the mists. So inside that altered reality where space and time doesn’t work as normal we killed him.
Also remember that Scarlet is not new to the mists. She has been sighted inside the reactor metldown fractal. We only don’t know if she traveled there from Tyria, or if it is a resonance of her presence in the real reactor when it blew up.
If there was such a fractal as the fall of abadon, it would be a resonnance of the abadon that got casted into the mists, not the real thing that we killed in the mist. The real thing is dead.
Also cause of the concept of the mists, Scarlet can find anything at the edge of the mists of interest. Who knows, maybe it is abbadon, but for the same thing it can be the place where the gargoyles dissapeared to. Now I think of it. Scarlet is after the ancient knowledge of the great gargoyle in the mists. That must be it :P
Go to right tab (second from bottom). Change the pull down menu to ‘items I’m buying’. You now see the items you made an offer for and you can cancel it.
