Nope, not unless you keep them in your inventory, the bank-tab where you put collectibles is a container where the stuff is, see it as a chest dedicated for collectibles, you need to go to the chest and open it to see what you have inside of it.
I do however hope that access to your vault is implemented at the tradepost sometimes. It would make trading so much easier.

The first thing i always say: I do not recommand a latop for gaming.
And when i googled the video cart on google i got this:
‘The thing is that card possibly wont even be able to push more than 20-30fps on low, possibly less in WvWvW.’
I disagree on your first remark. Although a PC is preforming better when gaming, the advantage of being mobile is a big one, specially when your not living alone and want to be able to be part of your family life (better be playing on the couch o with the laptop on your knees then locked up in a room, or having your back to the room all the time).
Your second remark is form pre-release (posted on august the 9th). The nvidea GT cards had a lot of problems resulting in bad FPS wich are fixed with the latest beta driver (dunno if there is a driver out of beta as well).
I am running on lower specs on high (with a GTX-card) and have 35-45 FPS on average so I think this setup will play fine.

Problem for me is I have not found any armour I like enough to want to bother doing this. Human female medium must be one of the ugliest in the game!
I am about to hit level 60, so hoping things might change for the better …
hmmmm, I’m not sure if I agree with you, I have a human engineer and am really happy with the (crafted) noble armor. Have been using it since level 35 and transmutating it all the time I find better stats.

The fact that they made a polymock arena and a turned off portal to it means for me they have plans into that direction. The arenanet-logo arena in lion’s arch also gives me the look of a mini-game. Might be another Polymock arena, but it can also be something else.
It might be that they left these out cause they where not ready, or it could be that they are reserved for seasonal events (with halloween nearing, we might know more bout that direction soon).

All above tips are good, just my own two cents is that I like to start off with exploring the 6 city’s. Although it is boring and takes 2-3 hours It rewards a very nice amount of XP and means when you start your starting area, you are ahead of the recommended level so no trouble to keep in the right sub-area and being more effective in cleaning the starter area’s. Besides that, you don’t need to travel to other starter area’s.

-edit- Ninja-ed by Kosmos, but for confirmation of his message, this was mine -edit-
Ye, you can set your availability to looking for party. that will pop up the icon above your head. You do it in the contact window (Y). However it doesn’t really work and according to dungeon seekers, it doesn’t look like it is used a lot.
The most party’s for the dungeon’s are started at the dungeon entrance, people use local chat (/l) and map chat (/m) to advertise the fact that they are looking for group.
Some people try the same thing in map chat in Lion’s Arch.
The chat message has a language on their own but mostly it if is something like LFG AC story or LFG AC Exp, This means Looking for group Ascalonian Catacombs story mode or explorer mode. Sometimes it starts with LF3M (looking for 3 more players) instead of LFG.
Keep in mind that before your can do a dungeon in explorer mode you need to have it done one time in story mode

I haven’t heard a statement on the current game, but in GW1 Anet always stated that using out source programs to change any ingame graphics isn’t against the EULA but is unsupported. (so if anything breaks in or out the game due to the outside source, you won’t get support. If it is due to the outside source, is totally up to the judgement off Anet and not up to you).
So assuming the above using outside programs to enhance the graphics is not a problem. when it comes to graphics your allowed to enhance and/or cripple the client as much as you want (make sure it stays at the client though, but in this case that isn’t a problem). The only but is that if the game keeps crashing, you can’t call support to fix it.

First off guild upgrades aren’t lost. they just stay on the old server (so if you ever return they are still there), but besides that everything that belongs to your character should be transfered. There is one important exception. You will loose your power of the mist bonusses untill the start of the next WvWvW match.
This is done so you can’t use a bonus of world A on world B and to prevent players from transferring to get the bonus of the world that is doing best atm.

There is no true answer in the way of say 1 hour.
for example: you mighti have seen the node farms where there is a big amount of nodes at the same place. Arenanet have stated they have a respawn rate of 23 hours. as being the most important farm locations it is normal that they have the highest respawn rate. TRhis also implies that the single nodes have a lower respawn rate. That is also what I experienced in the game. Nut I also saw the nodes changes places (meaning that sometimes they are at one side of the road and the other time at the other side of the road where there wasn’t a node before). So the right answer to your question is that imo Anet did a great job in anti farming the nodes. If you play the game in an area where the matierial is you need you are very likely to not see less nodes then when you are looking for them on purpose. (and playing the game means in my book more fun then just getting the nodes).

I agree with Snoring. Although I don’t have any trouble. I have heard people complaining bout it. Anet always have been very compassionate with the disabled.(don’t get me wrong, you can’t help it and I’m not judging, it is me who needs real life therapy on a permanent basis and I’m the one who is ’wrong’and ’ twisted’ in the eyes of society, but the majority doesn’t have this problem, so the minority who has got it, are described her by the term of disabled).
This however is a place where players are helping players, and in this case the people who can help you are not players but the devs. So follow his link and support the suggestion.

throwing 4 rare/exotic weapons of the same kind (so 4 greatswords, or 4 staffs) wich are for level 76 or above into the forge makes the base exotic weapon needed. afaik there is no change of getting the legendary that way but afaik if you throw them in, you will get the base exotic weapon 100% sure (aka ingredient 1). to make the legendary you also need 3 other components. The best guide I have seen so far is: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/64363-legendary-weapons-guide/page__hl__%20legendary

Hi nogc,
I haven’t played this myself, but there are a few reports of people who had the same problem on http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Talk:Time_for_a_Promotion There is however no known workaround and I would figure there would be a lot more people complaining if it was a consequent error. So I guess your kinda unlucky and hit a rare bug. If there are no charr here with a workaround, I would advise you to make a support ticket, within 3-4 days you should get a reply and a possible solution. You can do this at: http://en.support.guildwars2.com/
In the mean time just go ahead with playing the rest off the game by doing renown hearts, skillchallenges and dynamic events. It doesn’t matter if you level up, when you get a fix and can catch up with your personal story you will be downleveld to the level you should normally do it.

@Excretus, This section of the forum is bout players helping players. Although you have the right to have a negative opinion bout the game, it is not helping the OP. These kind of remarks should be in general game discussion.
To OP: When it comes to pulling to end bosses I think there is not really a way to tell when they are doing it, I usually dodge backwards after they pulled me so I’m out of the melee range. In my opinion the dodging of single attacks isn’t working nor needed. The times I dodge are when I’m in an effect or red circle. With an effect I mean for example when your in a flame jet. it is hard to see it comming, but when your in one it’s best to dodge the hell out of it
Besides dodging I found that normally moving helps a lot. It doesn’t have to be very good coordinated movements, just don’t stand still and half of the bullets, projectiles and other ouchie-things will miss.

Ele’s are NOT underpowered. The main problem is that many people see it as a mage kind of nuker where the tank is getting 99% of the damage, and the 1% you do get is healed by a dedicated healer, They stand in one spot all the time when fighting and are surprised they are killed easily. So to all the ele’s out there I would like to say: Don’t be a turret, we got engineers to put those down. (btw I am one and had to learn to play it the right way too)
Now back on topic. If your friend is following the above advise, actually any profession is good. Although the playing style of most classes are very different in my opinion there is no direct synergy between two profession, specially when you are teaming up all the time and playing together. My advise is to go to the wiki and read bout the different professions and see what you like.

Some quotes by Anet personel to start with :
‘The players we banned were certainly intentionally and repeatedly exploiting a bug in the game’
‘If you discover an emergency game-breaking or economy-breaking bug, do not exploit it, but please notify us immediately at this email address: exploits (at) arena (dot) net.’
So, reading the above, you should ask yourself if you are using an advantage that is unfair to people who are not using it. Though this can’t be answered directly I think you should be able to answer it yourself. However when in doubt, don’t do it, but sent an email to to above emailadress and ask them directly.
The problem is that your asking in the players helping players section and no matter what we say will give you the conformation your seeking cause it is Anets judgement that counts. So ask them and do not put attention to possible exploits here.
In the long run I would guess however it is ok.

“You should probably avoid presenting assumptions as facts Agemnon, especially in a forum section designed for players to help players as your assumptions may lead to a lot of confusion for other players.”
Sorry about that. It’s still better to repair ASAP even though broken armor can be repaired (like I said, I had myself killed wearing all whites until armor broke and it was fixed). Good thing there’s no armor permadeath!
It depends on the situation. I normally repair when I pass a repair npc (when needed) and go there on purpose when I’m not wearing a piece cause it broke down. In dungeons, it takes many times too long to get repairs cause there are waypoints closer to the fight.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
If your armor breaks it’s gone for good. Always repair if you need to, especially if you’re wearing any rares or exotics.
No it isn’t gone. When being naked just tlak to the repair guy and it will be repaired and your wearing it again. I do hope you wrote this out of ignorance.

First off all, Never spent all of your money always keep 15-20 silver at hand for these kind of situations.
Besides Curuniel’s suggestion, you can also park your character near a bank, go to the login screen, play another character (or create one), make some money and deposit it in the bank

Is it intended for the montly survivor achievement to go into / (thats what it is saying on the achievements tab now for me and a guildmember) or are you puzzling bout a new solution for this achievement (cause I agree there are some issues with it) and this is a filler till then?? For the rest a good update.
I do hope that the bugged skillpoints and events are most off all solved now. In the beginning it wasn’t a big issue, but the last day there was almost no map that was bug free. If there are still (hard to fix) skill points and events, I would like to suggest to make an update every few days. Even if it is an empty one, just to reset the maps, so the bugged things are working again for a good amount of time. (or actually don’t call them updates but map resets to get a good expectation what it is when it hits us).
For the rest I am very happy keep on the good work
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I’m not sure, but keep in mind that when you put something on the tradepost you can cancel the trade (unless someone bought it). some people use that feature as storage. By adding an incredible high price on it they are sure to get the item back (or get a very good price for it).
I’ve looked up the greatsword you mentioned on gw2db.com, though for a level 3 weapon it has very nice stats, it is a very regular skin, and with little effort you get a higher level weapon with better stats (you can get to lvl 7 without fighting anything beside in the tutorial by just exploring the 6 city’s).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
a: don’t use waypoints unless you are defeated. Always walk to the nearest town and use an asuragate.
Really? I can make up for my travels with 1- 3 items So if the 2 silver it cost for me to travel to an area I want to farm saves me 30 mins of run time then it is money will spent
Not in my experience (not that is saying everything). I actually use the trip for farming, I have 3 sets of gathering tools (1 set equiped, the other two in my bags), So I can always farm crafting mat nodes whenever I see them. So instead of spending silver I’m making money. I mostly use the run itself for farming material nodes and when I arrive I deposit the mats in the bank and I start playing what I am playing.
Between the lines was another nice way of making money. If you are mining copper, use copper mining picks. They are cheaper and so you get more profit. Like I said, I carry three sets with me. one for the lowest area’s, one for the medium, and one for the high end area.

I strongly disagree with you. First off all I want to express I am very much against botting. For those who played GW1 they would recognise that when it comes to discussing bots, people where only complaining bout bots in PvP. Surprise, they are also in PvE but we could never see them. If you suspect someone to be a bot, just report him/her. Anet have very good tools to identify a bot from a real players, and it doesn’t take them long. I already had my Guildleader be in shock yesterday boutt he fact that someone whispered him to ask if he was a bot. He (and I 100% agree) said it is very inpolite to suggest that.
I care little bout bots cause they don’t really bug me. I spotted a few indead and I reported them. They don’t make me angry or mad. I don’t care that dishonest people are prowling with expensive gear . When I get that gear I know I got it in a honest way. Doing like your saying comes from envy wich is in my book a sin.
I think botters should be banned but don’t make it a wild goase chase where honest players have to defend themself for other players. Last off all, your remark bout equipment is as discriminating as saying that someone in a oil-coat or with greasy hair is homeless. It might just be that they just don’t care bout looks.

Hello to you too,
I’m not going to answer your question. Picking a profession is a very personal thing and nobody can nor should tell you what you should like. My suggestion is to try them all out. I did and I came to the engineer and the ele. You can also visit the heart of the mist to see what the profession does on higher level. Last off all, you can visit the class discussion forums here to see what issues people have with a class. You should choose what you like not what others like. In GW1 (almost) everone hated the paragon, but I tried it myself and I really liked and and never understood why people said it didn’t have enough depth (unless saying the lack of depth comes from the fact that there is only one mainstream build, wich actually shows it is a misunderstood class).
Bottom line. If you value the decission so much, put some effort into investigating it yourself and don’t let other tell you what to do.

The hall of monuments is an ancient building that was also around during the events in Guild Wars one. By playing that game, the players could display certain achievements in Guildwars one in their hall of monuments. This ranged from certain titles, to unlocked animals but also special weapons and armor sets. Later one these achievements where transformed into a reward system for GuildWars 2. This unlocks unique items in GuildWars 2. People in Guildwars 2 who also played Guildwars one get a stone to visit the now ruined version of the hall and pick up the rewards. They are certain skins for weapons and armor (you need to aply the skin to a weapon or armor piece your already have and it get the special skin but the stats of the old item).
There is no other way to obtain the items from the hall of monuments then to buy and play guildwars one. Cause the hall is in the expansion Eye of the North, you need atleast one of the three campaigns and the Eye of the north expansion to get access to it. http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=main&details=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA check this site out to see what things you need to do and what rewards you can get in guildwars 2.

Your question is very hard to answer. First off all cause you didn’t say if you play on EU or NA servers. Second cause every server has a balance between wvW, PvE and sPvP, it might not be the right blanace for you though.
I can say that my server (Gandara) has a nice balance between the three. There is a lot of sPvP going on with many different levels of matches. The queu for WvW is very doable unless you want to the eternal battlegrounds, but when in it is mostly full and active, and the PvE maps are always full of people.
But the main thing is that, according to your question I suspect that your unhappy with the balance on your current server, so perhaps you can explain to us wich server it is and why you are unhappy.

Servertransfer transfers all your toons and is indeed a free service. It was intended to be a paid service, but it was also intended to have a guesting service (if you know someone on a different service, you can form a party, go to the same area, and then choose join in to play as a guest on your friends server (untill you zone where you are back at your home server and have to join in again). This guesting service has however been postponed. Although there is no official statement afaik, I would be dissapointed if they make server transfer a paid service before the guesting service is working. During the last Beta weekend the system was in place and server tranfer costed bout 500 gems to transfer to a low population server, 1,000 gems to transfer to a medium population server or 1,800 gems to transfer to a high population server. (100 gems cost currently 1,25 USD or 1,25 Euro).

It means that your attack must hit the foe. So if you see numbers on your screen for the amount of damage, the attack has hit the target and there is a change to summon the bird. So it doesn’t mean you have to be taking damage.
This is done so you don’t get a bird when your hitting air or a foe that is out of range.

I dissagree, though I know what you mean. The people managing this site are ok and with the best intentions. But Curse-websites has been attacked by hackers where login-details have been stolen. This risk however is everyhwere when you use outside sources. So use it if you like it, but never loging there with an emailadress and password linked to you GW-account but use a separate emailadress and a different password. So if they get hacked again, the hacker doesn’t know your account details for the game.

I would always go for map completion (meaning having done all hearts, waypoints, PoI’s, Vista’s and skill challenges). Beside getting the maximum amount of experience out of an area, it also rewards some nice additional rewards in the form of money, items and xp.
Harathi Hinterlands can be challenging for a level 30, But Gendarran fields is also very nice. Though there a re not so many event chains, there are interesting dynamic events.
If you played GW1, you might be interested in Fields of Ruin (through the asura portal in Rurikton, Divinity’s reach), this is for level 30+ and has some very good references to GW1 being the home area of tkittenon vanguard.

The easiest way of making gold is to buy gems and use the in game currency exchange to convert it to gold. Not only do you get more gold, but you will also support the makers of this great game.
Further there are no easy ways of making money. There are however some good ways to do so.
a: don’t use waypoints unless you are defeated. Always walk to the nearest town and use an asuragate.
b: Set goals and keep to it. I mean look at what you want to buy and don’t spent money on anything else till you have it.
c: sell on the TP instead to the merchant, many times you can get a better price on the tradepost.
d: don’t be greedy nor jealous on what someone else has but be happy with what you have yourself.

I see sometimes that people are using the players helping players section as a personalised google. You type in your question and you get an answer. I like answering questions cause I it also improves my own knowledge bout the game. I’ve never been a very skilled player, but I always made it up by knowing as much as possible bout the game I’m playing and sharing that. I see however some questions here that can be easily found on either google or the GW2 wiki.
So small request for those seeking here help. Before you post pls:
- browse 2-3 pages in the history of this forum to see if someone else recently asked the same.
- Type in your question in the search option
- type in your question at www.google.com (add gw2 at the beginning for optimum results)
- do the same at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page.
If you didn’t find your answer then please make sure your topic title covers your question. So when answered, future seekers of the same information can easily find it. So e.g. Can’t find last PoI in Metrica province inner complex.

First off all, You can get to Eye of the north campaign in GW2 as soon as you are level 10 AND are in a port town. (each campiagn has one port town. both kamadan in nightfall and lion’s arch in prophecy’s can be reached before you are level 10. Kaineng center in factions is harder, but then again, it has a much steeper lvl-ing arch meaning that it takes less time to get to e.g. lvl 17, wich would mean you are there as well in less time but at a higher level. As soon as you are atleast lvl 10 and enter the port town you get a message bout a questgiver for travel to the eye of the north. find it and take his quest. As soon as you are in the campaign (wich is rather easy) you get a buff making you like lvl 20 (though not fully, you get the amount of health and armor, but not the weapon bonusses etc, but it will get you powerfull enought to get to the hall of monuments.
You get three hom-points for free. the rest needs to be unlocked through playing the game. some are very easy, but most are rather hard. There is a nice guide on the gwguru website for starting players. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/guide-for-new-returning-players-t10513286.html?t=10513286

Then, my suggestion would be to use the money for completing factions to get a green or gold minipet as well (if prizes didn’t change too much that should be doable, specially if you get the 10 bonus zkey’s from tolkano. If you also buy the armor sets for 3 Eye of the north heroes you are still there. See the note on http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Tournament_Reward_Point . Those points can be spent with Tolkano for zaishen keys wich can be sold for a good amount of gold.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Getting 10 points in your HoM is rather easy. My suggestion would be (if you didn’t do that already) to add M.O.X. and a lvl 20 wolf (you can get lvl 20 wolf by making a PvP-only ranger, going to the zaishen menagery, release it there, and pick it up again on your PvE-character.
Further I would suggest to get atleast 3 stolen sunspear armor by repeating Dajkah Inlet mission. It is relativly easy and 2-3 rounds (it is unbeatable, being a challenge mission, but you get the items as a reward when you play it) will get you the hero armors yourself. Ignoring the 3 points you got already (but including the 3 points every get), that should put you on 7 points. Finish atleast one campaign (factions is the easiest) and you should get 9 points in total. One regular miniature (wich was bout 7k when I started playing GW2) would put you on 10 points. The money needed for the miniature should be picked up during finishing factions. If you start now from scratch and play GW1 for 4 hours/day you should be able to get 10 points in less then 2 weeks time.

Mesmer and Thieves are a bit more succesfull atm, but I wouldn’t call them overpowered. It took me some time to learn to identify clones from the real enemy mesmer (but in the end it is my lack of skill when I am attacking a clone) and they have some nasty skills. But mesmers are low on armor and it only take a few good hits to get them out. Same goes basicly for thieves. Know how to counter them and they are beatable. I’ve played both WvW and sPvP with my engineer and it felt fun and sattisfying and I didn’t feel underpowered.
It is common practise that if a player in PvP gets killed they go shooting that the enemy is overpowered instead off first looking at their own skills. They have slight advantages that takes some specifick tactics to tackle them instead of just a basic tactic.
Conclusion they are only slightly overpowered in my opinion.

The book also resets your traits for free, so all traits you used before are reset and need to be put in a trait line again.
My engineer uses riffle and flametrower. I have put my traits mostly into precission and critical damage and power (also using runes to make a good total balance). When you are downgraded the bonus is als downgraded. Basicly it takes a certain percentage of your stats. So they still count, but they count less when downgraded.
