1: Anet never said that Elona will come available. There is nothing known bout future content. People are just guessing the game might develop into that direction.
2: Anet did stated that They will only release expansions, and no stand alone campaigns. So it will be different then in GW1
3: There is a lot of talk bout new playable races. So cause Anet listens a lot to the community you can expect more playable races.

Given these points I think it will be really unlikely that you can make a human in an possible elonian themed expansion. You can give your (human) character an elonian look and it is already possible to have very elonian looking gear.

The final and shortest answer is that there is nothing known bout future expansions

Most of these site don’t use ingame soruces to collect data but dat-file mining. The dat-file is the actual game and you can look into the raw program coding (changing is not allowed). This way they often find things that are possible to exist but doesn’t exist at the moment. This can be cause this was removed from the game prior to release or cause they are ‘saving’ it for future release. For example it could be that they are having a asura-themed festival in the future and have that as a festival mini.

Every server has people not speaking english. I’m on Gandarra and I sometimes see some discussion. But in the end it is a minority and mostly for guildrecruitment.

I’m not sure if their are guilds specialised in this and honestly I doubt it. a Legendary weapon is a reward for those players that have been proven of being succesfull in almost every aspect of the game. So also World versus World. There are many other weapons that are almost as good.

though my main is an engineer I agree with Red Falcon. Based on pure dps calculation the warrior has the most. However, keep in mind that warrior’s need to be in melee range. So in PvP, kiting is very effective against warriors. In PvE the same goes when playing with others (willingly or unwillingly) foes change agro or are pushed backwards by other players. In my opinion dps has become increasingly less important due to the fact that the trinity is gone in GW2.

Hiya, Some guildmembers where stuck on ‘the hatchery’. Though it took some for anet to fix this, it was fixed last weekend and they could all get past it now. So the change of getting stuck is not more then any other branch of the storline now.

I agree the song was great. As for pulling at my emotions, I suspect anyone who has ever played the original GW would be disappointed in the story in GW2. Trahearne is no Prince Rurik, Master Togo or Kormir, and Zhaitan is certainly no Abaddon.

I am sorry, but I wasn’t dissapointed. Although I do hope they give Trahearne a nice back-door exit (or atleast a soundbite update to let him say more then ’ This won’t end well’). I really enjoyed the storyline of GW2 and specially the end. Ow and I did play all 4 GW1 storylines

I have both an ele and an engineer. To the answer of wich profession is the hardest I agree. Though for both it is only a lil bit harder to get the hang of things. If you want a challenge however. I am currently leveling a ranger whom I am only allowing to use a greatsword and a spear. The challenge is much bigger then playing ele or playing engineer

The GW2 black friday sale is an ingame sales for microtransactions. Not the game itself. I don’t think the game will be sold cheaper. It is simply too new and too many people still buying it everyday

Servertime is always PST timezone. But when counting down to the event last weekend in Lion’s arch me and someothers found out that the actual time is taken from your pc-clock and when you pick servertime it is translated to PST. But it isn’t the actual time on the server (so not reliable to time things like events)

A raid is a rather old concept from the time you had the trinity (tanks, casters, healers). It where big organised party’s. mostly 25 people or more with a structure in the organisation, where they where doing something more difficult then average. Most of the time the raid would be in an instance, but not always. In GW2, a traditional raid wouldn’t work imo cause there is no need. But I do think that there should be activity’s thats allowing for bigger party size and scales up to the size of the party. 5 is rather limited.

Chests that are permanent there like at the end of jumping puzzles will be reset (so you can open them again) after 24 hours.

Most champion chests spawn after defeating a champion and are present everytime the event is succesfully finished. How often the event happens depends on the event.

I think it is done cause boon condition is only important for some professions. Given the fact that it is exotic, they might have thought thios would be more welcome for such an high end rune.

Second I want to express my symphaty. This is not a nice discovery. Putting this into the bug section is not the best place. I have several strong reasons for this. The first is that this doesn’t need to be a bug and I don’t suspect it is a bug. The reason is that a bug that can be used to your advantage is an exploit and much more dangerous to the game economy. The second reason is that I would suggest to file a support ticket at https://en.support.guildwars2.com/.

Support has tools to investigate this and find out what happened. You will get a reaction by Anet then.

I think it is dangerous to conclude the breather is useless, cause you find underwater battles easy, while it is only one factor that makes the underwater experience. You skillbar is totally changed underwater as well as your weapon. It really depends on your class how easy it is. On my ele I find underwater battles more challenging then land battles. On my engineer it is the other way around and I find the udnerwater battles easier.

You can sent mails to people on different server. No problem at all.

Had TA weapons, never like them that much, and now I got culture weapons. however again it feels off.

Ok, going to give you some radical advise then (cause I hit the same problem). Instead of looking for something that matches great, look for something totally different AND what you really like.

The reason I’m saying it is that, from an aestetic point of view having opposites works really great. And if you pick something radical different but what you really like, it would stand out against the armor make both stronger.

First thing is that I would advise to decide what you want. Exotic lvl 80 gear is always expensive or hard to get. So decide on the looks you want. Keep in mind that you can use fine transmutation stones. So it doesn’t need to be exotic.

Do not! get a temporary exotic set but just use lvl 80 rares till you get the set you want. If you want a non-exotic skin, get the skin you want as cheap as possible (so for the lowest level available), get some exotic gear using either the TP or from karma merchants, and use fine transmuation stones. If needed you can buy the superior runes separate.

If you want cultural gear use lvl 80 rare gear and start farming for gold. You need a lot of it (personally I prefer frostgorge for farming).

For exotic dungeon gear, you need to repeat the dungeon in explorable mode several times (remember to do each path only once per day for efficiency).

Just a lil tip. If you go to the heart of the mist you have the pvp-lockers. There you can preview every skin of armor or weapon available in the game. Only thing is that they are named differently. so either use the wiki or post a screenshot here to find out how to get it in PvE.

I’m writing you with great concern. Just to recap my own experiences:
- At the start of the game there have been some hickups where the servers crashed and we had a very nice login-war. You’ve learned and fixed it. Thats great.
- at the introduction of halloween where the festival dungeon was introduced. You had an awesome video. After that the game crashed.
- With lost shores, you made some awesome content. Unfortunally the lag is so terrible I can’t play it.

My conclusion is that you have great idea’s but the execution is very bad. I know that this isn’t directly your fault. You make the content not the servers. But I have to notice an unbalance between what you hope will work and should be offering an awesome experience and what is realisticly doable. I call upon you to understand this. To see there is an issue here that has to be adressed.

I don’t know if you are asking too much when designing the events or the servers are just too cheaply balanced (during events). I do understand these things are the icing on the cake, and for the rest it is a very great game. But when you can’t deliver the icing, you shouldn’t try. I understand serverproblems are not your fault but NCsoft’s. But pls don’t try this again till you know you are ready for this. I rather have a wintersday festival (guessing that will be next) that isn’t as spectacular, then this all over again. In my opinion you should look at everything. Even looking for other solutions then using NCsoft. It is obvious they can’t handle what your asking from the servers. But clearly you (Anet and NCsoft) aren’t capable of pulling off what you currently want to pull off.

But in my experience, they only ninja invite people that are guildless. I had the same problem untill I spent a silver on making a solo guild and started representing it. Since then I never had any unwanted invite.

Beside the PoI in chantry of whispers (if not a member of the order of whispers, visit through the portal in fort trinity) and the PoI on Claw Island (auto-discovered upon doing the battle for claw island personal story), there are also the PoI’s in WvW that count.

If you checked the aboves, then visit every area in the game to check if you did’t miss out any PoI. Best is to use a list and cross out everyone you checked (but don’t guess)

afaik no word has reached us that this will be the situation. Given the situation that happened after phase 3 of halloween, I would hope they don’t do it, cause it was stressfull for the servers already (not that I don’t understand your problem with it).

So you might want to think bout using a 7 day server transfer. On the other hand. Anet did say they are working on the guesting service. So they might put it into the game during the same update.

It depends on the recipe. Some have a change to get a desired outcome and some will have the desired outcome. For example when you are crafting a legendary weapon, most components are garanteed to be the desired outcome when you make them. but some are not.

So best is to tell what you want

Backpacks have (slightly) better stats.

Almost everything you do is giving you XP. So to level up on a fast pace, best is to not stand still (unless your crafting).

Cause almost everything is giving XP however it isn’t enough to do only one or two things.

There are two options you have.
a: go to your home town and get 100% completion on the map (visit all waypoints and point of interest and watch all Vista’s). after that use the pruple asura gate to go to lion’s arch, do the same on that map and use all pruple portals in lion’s arch to get to the other starting towns (for different races) and do the same thing. After all towns done you should be lvl 15 or very near to it. to prevent this situation in the future use option b.

b: For very level you have more then one area to level. So if one area isn’t enough, try to switch. in your case it would be another startermap for any of the other races. I assume your in Queensdale (cause of the Centaurs), so best is to go to town (divinity’s reach), then go the center of the town and into the asura portal to lion’s arch. from there you go to another starter town. exit from the starter town to the starting area of that race and start doing the hearts, skillpoints and de’s there.

I have heard reports that people got the reward afterall by going to fort trinity and portal to the chantry of whispers. Still a bug off course, but you might want to give it a try.

One of the dev’s have been commenting bout what the cause is, when it is going to be fixed and why it takes such a long time to fix it.

I do that puzzle almost daily, some days, I can try the jump for 20 times and I never make it. other days the first attempt is bingo. All I can say is that it isn’t a bug, but it is very difficult to take a path down that gets you there 100% alive all the time.

Basicly, I would go for a highly populated server if your a team player, and for a lesser populated server if you prefer soloing stuff.

For the rest it depends on your playstyle. Cause this game can’t be compared to other games it is best to pick on. If you end up on a WvW orientated server, but you prefer doing dungeons, you can always switch later on.

Yes it is like Skype. But where Skype is designed as a telephone tool that has use in gaming communications, Ventrillo and other systems (mumble and teamspeak) are designed for gaming communications. This means they require a lot less hardware resources and support push to talk.

Nope, no need for that. You prolly wouldn’t want to play the charr then anymore (they are the badguys in GW1 for the most part of the story). There are GW1 references all over the game but they only have meaning for you if you have played it, this is the same for all races. You might think that the female norn warrior with the ponytales that has statues all over the shiverpeaks looks pretty cool. The GW1 player will know her as Jora and would know her story and faith. it always give more debt to the story to have played the original, but it is never needed.

Just my 2 cents. The area I missed was Momoztli Grounds in Bloodtide coast. Although the wiki is putting the heart for ‘Help the Priory put ghost pirates to rest’ in that area, you can talk to the heartgiver, fill the heart in and get the nearby PoI without discovering the area. You need to move further to the west to get it filled in.

Doesn’t really matter. If looking for RPG/lore reasons. Charr has invented the engineer. Asura’s are the most enginering race. Humans use a good amount of engineering. Norn and Sylvari turn more to nature to fix things, but aren’t blinded by engineering technology (e.g. sylvari turrets).

When it comes to racial skills, I always prefer skills that doesn’t put you in to a ‘form’. The reason is that engineers already have a lot of skills that do that (kits). Cause most engineer elite skills are doing that (turret and Elixer X) and the supply crate is kinda weak for an elite skill (in my opinion), the Norn would be a wrong pick. If you like to have changing skillbars, the norn is the way to go however.

In the end it is rather personal.

The wiki page got recently updated saying that the problem is the respawn time (up to 30 minutes). I’ve been camping at the stone for ages, and been parking my character there every time. But so far no luck No matter how long I stand there or how often I visit it, the goggles are not there (Gandara). Could anyone confirm it is a matter of patience??

Have you tried logging out to desktop and logging back in? This will most likely be fixing this. If not I would sugeest to file a support ticket. It looks like you have a personal account issue and not a bug.

Some backbraces are visable e.g. the guild back pack and the engineer starter backpack. Engineers who like the starterbackpack can use a stone to keep a visable backbrace when they got the story reward one, so there is actual use. Again there is no reason to transmutate jewels. The word ’ items’ in the description is so widerange you can’t call it a bug cause of the term (you can’t transmutate things like gold ore, while it is still an item)

Thats not a bug. First off all cause transmutation stones, are designed to work on weapons and armor only. The second reason is that jewelry like that isn’t visable on the character (backbraces can be visable when it is the guild’s back armor andaquabreather is visable underwater) so there is no reason to being able to transmutate them. If you wish to move an upgrade from one piece to the other you can use a black lion salvage kit.

…. off the golemancer is only done by getting dungeon tokens and can’t be traded to other players.

I think it is easier to get (most of) the stats by going to a more crit orientated gear and use something like rune off the eagle or rune of the ranger for the precission and the last bits of crit damage. I didn’t calculated it but that way you should be able to get pretty close to the stats of the 6 runes of the golemancer (besides the golem spawning)

So, since there are 2 diving locations in Metrica, what if you get the goggles up north, run all the way down to the bugged one, and jump. Would you get the achievement? I’m thinking I might try that, but if anyone does it before I get on later, give me an update if that works.

you get ungoggled when you run further then a few yards. Beside that it is putting the goggles on at a certain location that makes it count for the achievement and not the dive itself (I tried it with the achievement window up, and its updated when you get the googles on, i never dived at some, and got all but the missing metrica-location done).

Server time is GMT. As you have mentioned, you changed to -8 GMT, so your time changed, but the servertime didn’t.
