I think you have posted this in the wrong section and in the wrong format. First off all, this is the players helping players section (might have been moved by a mod, they sometimes do that without any good explaination).

secondly, by talking bout features we are all used to have in other games, make sure you know what your talking bout….. many of your features where not in GW1, this being GW2, that should be your benchmark and not any WoW or WoW-wanabe clone.

Secondly, I advise you to instead of ‘demanding’ a reaction (wich you will not get, they are working on things as recently stated in an inteview, but they are never telling on what) make a suggestion, by just requesting these features.

This is done at the same forum but under the section suggestions. First off all, for each of your points, pls search if others already have suggested it. If so, somment in that thread that you support the suggestion and get it off your own list. When done, make your own thread and post the remaining ones. Please make sure that for every point there is a briefly description why that would be important for you (even if it seems self explaining to you).

Arenanet does listen to the players and in my opinion a lot better then most company’s but they never go into deep discussions. So we can make suggestions and they can feel free to use to suggestions or trash it in the wrong suggestion bin. but they don’t give feedback.

So I understand what you want, but advise you to reconsider the method in trying to accomplish it (and many of your suggestions are things I would welcome in the game, though some not….).

16: There are not tanks, so don’t treat your partymembers like one. Hiding behind someone when you are very low on health is very ok, but don’t hide behind a partymember who is even lower on health. There are no tanks so take your equal share of the beating.

prolly not, I think the dev’s and gm’s are given a dev-weapon, that looks ordinary, but gives you a set of weaponskills to move easy through Tyria without needing to deal with the foes (a soulbound weapon off course so even a corrupt dev could give it away or sell it).

Besides that cause fighting is done in an open envirement, I do believe that the use of dev skills is restricted to the testing servers and might never be visable to us normal players.

Mesmers and thiefs are still slightly better in PvP, but slightly. Best is to just try PvP out a few times on a character you like and are used to in PvE. When you talk bout easiest I want to say that the difference between all is just slightly and it is actually pretty good balanced. So best is to just step in and be slaughtered (just cause you need experience to be succesfull in PvP, it always plays differently from PvE).

Yes you can, make sure you use the same account to login. If you just want the heritage armor http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Heritage_armor you only need 6 points wich are actually easy to get:
a: to make it easier, get the full set, so the 3 campaigns and the expansion Eye of the north (minimum however is 1 campaign and Eye of the north).
b: for the heritage armor you need 6 HoM points. 3 points are rewarded when you create your GW1 account (first time you log in and made a character).
c: start in factions (it level’s the fastest off all three campaign) and start playing till you level 20. I can do this in 3 hours time, but then again I am an experienced gw1 player, so expect to need the double amount of time. make sure that if you din’t pick ranger, your secondary profession is going to be ranger.
d: at the entrance of the main town (kaineng center) you find a hero called M.O.X. talk to him to get him unlocked (you need to be level 10 but by the time you get there you prolly will be level 10). If you don’t have all three campaigns he won’t be there.
e: take the quest in kaineng center to travel to the eye of the north, unlock you Hall, get the first tapestry and put it into fellowship monument. Then display M.O.X. (the other heroes you can’t get on display cause you need to get end game armor for them). This is 1 point so 4 out of the 6 points needed for the armor set.
f: make a PvP-only character and make it a ranger. Go to the Zaishen menagery to release the pet (lvl 20 wolf).
e: bring you PvE character to the zaishen menagery, tal kto the guy in the pen to spawn a lvl 20 wolf of any evolution. Use charm animal and capture it (if you didn’t pick ranger as your secondary class you need to do 2 extra missions to be able to pay for changing it). go with the animal to the eye of the north and put it onto display (5 hoM points)
f: got to the Great temple of Balthazar and talk to high priest Zhan. Then talk to Tolkano (in the same outpost) and trade 50 tournament points for 10 zaishen keys. press p and find a buyer for the keys (6k each so a total of 60k). Use your richdome wisely. Go back to Kaineng center, and do the quest to get to Elona (Nightfall campaign). When you have done that, make sure you are in Kamadan american district 1 and press p to advertise you want to buy 1 white mini(ature) unded(icated). They go for anything between 5-10k, some are white but rare and therefor higher in price. but this should do the trick for you. Als buy a tapestry for 6-7k from another player. Use the tapestry in the hall of monuments on the devotion monument and add the unded miniature (if it isn’t undedicated but dedicated it won’t work). Now you have 6 HoM points and the full heritage armor set.

If you want the baroque mask (headpiece) you are going to need 12 points.
If you want the heavenly braces (gloves) you need 18 points
If you want the icelord diadeem you need you need 24 points
If you want the fiery god gloves (the burning hands) you need 30 points.

Do keep in mind that the points get harder to get the higher you go. The first 10 points are relativly easy. But to get 30 points you need to play several weeks for atleast 5 hours/day.

Yip this is the most common asked question, so I’m going to give you the most common answer. Play what you like and don’t let others tell you what you should like. All classes are good at DPS and support. Where the mesmer is a tiny bit better at support, the necro is a tiny bit better at dps.

Wich one do you like the most?? then play that one!!!

Lats off all, keep in mind that you have all the time to play both. The game isn’t gone in 2 weeks, but it is likely you can still play both over 2-3 years, so don’t rush.

Thanks Melana. To be clear bout it, I was stupid, i didn’t read, but I almost uninstalled the game. At that time i was doing my first character. I was just level 40 for my second traitbook and I was scrapping money for it (spent too much on other things without realising I needed one gold for the books) I got 1 gold and 5 silver and was planning to go to my skilltrainer to get the book when done. I made the stupid mistake and had to start over. My critism wasn’t bout the fact that I was so stupid to not read, and actually I liked the concept off flying cows (I love real animals, but when pixelcows are being catapulled I smile). but in areas as this (15-25) it should be a scaled amount (like 5 silver instead of 50 silver).

hmmm, if you mean by tag team, that you alternate between nukerish and tankerish then all professions are very good at it. I know ele is more squishy and the ranger has more armor. but just go out front and you will see you do great (use the earth skills in those fases). If I’m wrong in what you wish, please explain more in detail. I only know tagteams from pro-rwestling and it is in the 7 mmo’s i played never have been a term used to describe a gameplay tactic…

It looks like anet are trying to fix the price to a point that buying low selling high wont work without getting to loose a market-feeling with the system. so in the end the price is fixed round 33s/100 gems and not fluxuation enough to make decent amount off money when smart-investing in the gem market – jeez, that sounded negative, I mean that if they wont to prevent powertrading they should do so and fix the price and change it when they feel the need for it. I am against powertrading when it comes to rl money (wich gems basicly are) so I really agree with them, but they should make it open so that powertraders or people who want to be to know they should stick to the TP to make ingame gold instead of the gemstore (powertrading on the tp is perfectly ok, specially when people get better in not going for the lowest seller option. still lots of opportunity’s for the good powertraders, but making it a nicer and more challenging game).

It was the slightly bugged achievement for monthly survivor in that spot. It has been disabled since the first day off the months. It is unknown if it is disabled cause of the bug, if they are planning to bring it on later in the month or if it is going to be replaced by a one time event achievement (and it is also unknown if that is to cover up for the bug or if it was planned on all along). We will know when halloween events are starting…..

I am one of the people responsable why the the charr is temporary disabled. The reason is that I complained bout the fact that I talked to him instead of the catapult. I was stupid enough to not watch the dialogues (cause people told me the catapult for the vista is there) and wagered 50 silver on how far a cow could fly. So I think you are trying to make the same mistake but you are saved for now. To get the Vista, makes sure that the farm isn’t invovled in a dynamic event and then click the catapult itself, it gives you a (save to use) dialogue and then you will be catapulled (during a loading screen) to the vista. If the dynamic event is going on, it will not react, just help with the event get a reward and then try again.

There has been some debate on the jumpingpuzzle talk page bout the node gatherings. Thea are a kind of jumping puzzle in the way that they are often in hard to reach places. Sometimes, it requires a bit of jumping and sometimes to have a harder fight with some mobs (sometimes a veteran, but not always). bottom line is, it is designed to be harder then just any solo gathering node, so when you see more then one node in the same area expect a ‘trap’.

Secondly, it happens sometimes that mobs who are attacking you are not directly visable the first second due to a loading/lag effect. combined with the effect that fights underwater are a bit more chaotic and you can loose track of a mob easilier then on land.

I don’t think it is a trap, but it is a challenge and I only go for these node-gatherings when I’m in the mood for these kind of challenges.

Best thing to do is have one person to go ahead, and explain to you how it looks on the ’ other’ side.

For everyone who switched to the other side, all influence is gone and all upüdates are gone (or actually they stay on the old server). the guildroster, ranks, and members are still there (also the one on the old server, and guildchat stays open, so you can explain why everyone is over to the new server and let them decide to come as well or stay behind).

I don’t know bout the content of the guildbank, but assuming that world transfer stays free for enough time, I would suggest to build your bank again and check if the content is accessable from the new server once you unlock the npc (pls report that here, there have been questions bout that earlier and no clear answer). If the content is not accesable, make the vault only open for one to two people (if two make sure they trust each other, and make notes), who put all their belonging into the empty guildstash, this person goes to the old server, plays there solo for 24 hours, then loads his bags and bank (you can also put materials in the materials tab, just make sure, you keep note off what is yours and what is the guilds), returns to the new server, puts everything into the guildstash and takes out his own belongings. Cause you can use all characters, even with the deep cave full it should be possible to do it with one person, but if you must do it with two.

Mercury, I had the same problem today. Tried it over and over and over again, always stuck at the gate. What I did is at the logging camp I didn’t finish off last mob but ran to the gate. When the nps killed last mob, undeads at the gate spawned properly and I managed to finish it. i hope it works for you 2, cuuse 22.10 is far far away

I made it through (solo). What I did was that after I arrive at the gate, before I agro the foes already there, a group spawns right behind me. Killed those, then the ones at the gate. At the second wave I was unlucky that my tank (trahearne) died and I didn’t have the time to get him up, so I needed to do the third wave without him too. Carefull pulling did the trick.

After that I was almost in shock cause I saw the video off the giant’s, the rest of the story was playable and imo a lot easier cause of the massive help of npc’s

Having said that I still need to bring 2 other guildmembers through. Seeing the high difficlutly level off this mission and the fact that this is an MMO, I do believe that 22-10 is too long. I know this is not in Jeffrey’s hand and I also understand that some steps have to be followed to get new content into the game. This is however a MMO, wich means that soloing things isn’t an acceptable workaround, nor is asking people to run around looking for missing npc’s. So I would like to ask Jeffrey to point the people in charge to this thread and them I would ask to consider an extra content update. First off all cause asking people to do something else for 11 day’s isn’t right, secondly to ask them to do it solo isn’t right. Lats off all cause the level of difficulty in this story is very challenging when doing it solo. Do not keep a solution for a very important problem on the selves for 11 days.

Me and some guildmembers are having the same problem. We are in a party, evertime atfer the lumberjack camp, we go to defend the gate. They are already fighting there at the left side of the gate (right side from where we approach), we run to the ramp to have a better fighting position. One wave from theleft to comes, then one more from the right and then it stops, we cheak the whole map several times for stuck risen, lifted every rock etc.

We tried it 4 times and then gave it up cause people where getting annoyed and tired.
Party composition:
1: norn mesmer, female lvl 66 (leveld to 67 during the third try)
2: Norn Guardian, male lvl 68
3: human engineer, female lvl 69
4: Human ranger, male lvl 70 (did it before)

jeffrey, if you want to test it in a party, you are welcome on Gandara, somewhere between 8 and 11 pm GMT (just pm me). I also filed a bug report with a screenshot so you might want to look it up. Although we know your doing your best We are a bit annoyed and hope you get to a quick solution.

The LA ones are not scaled to the area, cause there is no level requirement. so they are your level, but mostly blue. If I get something yellow out of it it is a jewel.

I agree with glitch. Be helpfull, try to make newfriends by playing the game and be helpfull. In the last few months of GW1 I was in a solo guild (had taken a detour to lotro for a while) and I didn’t had the intention to build it. I made some guides bout gw1 and posted them on fan fora. Got some pm’s from people with additional info and in two months time I had a guild of 4 people instead of solo while I wasn’t even planning on making a real guild.

So bottom line: start finding friends instead of guildmembers. They might turn out to be friends and guildmembers in the future

Yes, respawn time is 24 hours. Tested on all 3 jumping puzzles in Lion’s Arch wich I do daily. You wont get the achievement reward again though.

Yeahm they only grant more xp/kill. so when using them in DE’s the best thing to do is to do de’s with lots of kills (so not kill one big giant kitten boss, but defend this place from invading forces).

In GW1 I heard a lot of people complaining that obsidian armor was way too expensive, but in the end a lot of those people got it anyway over time. So my advise stays to just stack them if you have too much karma and find more effective ways of making money. You never know what your goals in the future are going to be. It won’t run away.

Again like being said, any option will do, When saying they are spamming they might only look at the players chat, but for example picking scamming or botting means they will look at the players behaviour.

Secondly. hack is very unlikely the wrong word. To hack the game in such a way that you can recognise it means they have hacked the game server. This is nearly impossible and takes a lot of work. What Vytality is describing is indeed an exploit and there for a bug. So you might want to do the same thing (stand in that spot), make a bug report. And state i nthe report that you didn’t use the bug, but that you saw people taking advantage of this. When investigating the team will not only look at the bug, but will also check the records who used it and then pass the info to a GM who has the banhammer.

First off all be very carefull. The first big exploit was bout converting karma to gold in a exchange rate much higher then it should be. A lot of people got banned (initially life time ban, but later, cause it was the first time such a thing happened they could appeal and most of them where reverted to a 72 hour ban).

Second is that imo the best way is to buy crafting materials (mostly for cooks), make dishes and sell those.

Last remark is that you might want to be carefull to spent your karma. In the ’ ’ ‘endgame’ there are a lot of things you can get but cost a ton of karma. for example a legendary weapon cost on average over 1 million karma.

This is a feature of the game (and thats why the game installer made that folder for you). So it is fully legal, and maybe even supported.
I suspect that the problem with the mp3 is that it was made with a specifick codec, wich isn’t in the games audioplayer. If you made these mp3’s yourself by e.g. ripping them off cd’s (you bought yourself offcourse and are in you home) then you might want to try and do that again with a different codec (in most ripping software you can choose wich codec to use, if that option isn’t available it is such a generic codec that it will be supported). If you got the mp3 from other sources – shame on you – then it might be a more exotic codec. Hope this answers your question a bit??

I don’t think this is a bug, but more a designissue. I’m not an expert, but for every armor and for every race (and sex) a new model had to be made, over the model the colouring and colouring zones are applied. So it could be a technical problem, cause of the different model. But it could also be astetic case the amount of detail possible on the human won’t be visable on a tiny asura.

There is not going to be an answer that will tell you what to pick. Every class is very good in finishing the game and doing the content. at the moment there is no class standing above the others. there are however difference in playstyle and that can make a difference for you, but there is no better class. try them both and pick one. I couldn’t decide between ele and engineer, I took them both till level 55-ish and then decided to bring my engineer to the end first. but the ele will go to the end too.

First off all, I wonder how you would know if someone is exploiting. Exploiting is using a bug in the game that allows you to get an advantage that is not fair to people who don’t know bout the bug (and it really is a bug and not as designed).

Mostly this has to do with farming and trading. cause this is done in npc windows it is hard to tell. maybe you are using the wrong term for behaviour you find suspicious??

Secondly. All reports are being looked into, the option to select is only for the gm’s to understand what they are looking for when investigating. so if you pick e.g. botting they will look at what people did, while when you report for spamming they might only look at the chats they wrote….

Well this was when I saw your post, so sorry bout no quicker reply. but when it is not in my transactions it is sold and you lost the item and can pick up the profit in the pick up tab. going to tell more after posting this when I edit.

There are when selling on the tradepost three bugs/errors I had the last few days.
1: price is lower then merchant. this is not a bug, but a protection method so you get a profit.
2: error selling: I always sell at the bank or in the field. jsut closing the window and reopening it will do the trick and I can sell my items again.
3: frozen window (no error message) this needed me to go to the character select screen to get rid off, but it happened twice, and it was right after each other.

So I rarely have to log off to get the tradepost working after an error, mostly it is enough to close and reopen the window. the error is bugging but no need to relog for me.

They haven’t finished any dungeon, so they need story modes. with level 68 and no story mode done, I reckon that if they find groups and get to the end of each of them they will be 80 when they done all of them…

Best is to let your friend also check the gift very carefully in the crafting window. if it doesn’t say it is soul or account bound then it isn’t.

Short answer, don’t make a post bout it.
There are a lot of rumors bout hacking both in PvP as in PvE. Accounthacking is not something that can be stopped by Arenanet but by the people themself. I have heard in my years of playing a lot of MMO’s a lot of people saying it wasn’t their fault and they all did what they had to do. But when it comes to the persons close to me (bout 5) who I knew personally and not from places like this I had long talks with them and always found the leak on their own computer (2 times a keylogger and 3 times a hacked fansite where they logged in with same emailadres, password and used their charactername as an accountname).
So to the people I would suggest to do four things.
1: use an unique password and emailadres specifick for GW2. do not use it for other games or for other websites. If for example someone hacks guildwars2guru.com, and your using the same emailadres and password there they know you play the game, they know your emailadres, and they know your password. 2: Keep your computer save and update your virusscanner and firewall frequently.

3: Do not store your account details in your mailbox, on a file on your harddrive. If you have trouble remembering it, write it down and leave it next to the computer. If your housemates can’t be trusted, store it in your wallet.

4: never use leveling services or gold selling services. if you want to spent real money to get better buy gems and trade them for gold or buy boosts from the gemstore.

The last thing you might mention is that like always there are people saying that the gameserver itself is hacked. Do not believe reports like that. It is simple not true and mostly a misunderstanding of what someone saw (and if not it is just telling lies on purpose). It has happened that big mmo-games have been hacked. All have been in the news and being brought out by the company’s themself, the biggest and most famous one is the sony playstation network. It is bad advertising for a company to admit to be hacked, but they do know it will come out anyway, and by admitting it happened they are preventing worse things to happen.

Last remark: Do not pay attention to hackers, report and ignore. Enjoy your game and let Anet deal with the baddy’s

I don’t agree with that Vorkk. The lvl 80 exotics are more valuable, and if the change is the same you would be wasting more valuable items. All we know is that it is possible to get the lover with 4 rare lvl 76 shortbows. To know what the changes are a lot of investigting needs to be done. It takes months of statistics. My recommendation is to try both. so any lvl 86 (or above) rare shortbow you get in your bank and try it out when you have 4, same goes for the any exotic lvl 80 one. The outcome will always be good and valuable. My plan is to set aside any level 86 or higher rare and exotic and when I get 4 of them to throw them in. When I get a precursor beside what I need myself (im an egnineer so I’m going for the riffle) I will sell it on the TP and have a nice investment to get other things I need.

When starting with the forge I would suggest to start simple to see how it works. I first put in 4 general dyes in and got a rare dye. The mystic forge works for almost everything, both PvP and PvE. You can put 4 materials in and get a better kind of material, or 4 pieces of armor and get a better one, etc.

The basic thing is that when you open the dialogue window, you see to the left all items in your inventory that can get in. If you put one thing in the things that won’t form a match will be grayed. Only if you put four items in that will have an outcome te forge button will come available and you will have an outcome. If it is good one?? well for most things the outcome is random so thats your luck.

When it comes to gaining influence, the best way to get more is to get more (representing) members.. However if you have trouble growing or wish to stay small it is advisable to choose a direction instead of getting all. first example is the guild storage. for a small guild it is a good plan to invest 3,000 influence for a guild storage. However, being small, it is only advisable for bigger guilds to get the 20,000 for the treasure trove, let alone the deep cave (deep cave requires a total of 43,000 influence).

Also get boost that matter for your guildmembers. if nobody or almost nobody plays WvW, it is not advisable to invest in anything there. If your people are farming a lot of karma, then a +15% karma boost is a good idea. but when they have no interest in dynamic events it is not worth doing that.

At the moment there is no game content, although the foes in future content is not known to us yet, I have a feeling that it will be around killing off the other 4 (5??) elder dragons. This picture however is bout a sleeping primordus. He is currently awaken. It is unknown if he stayed in the same room where he slept or that he moved through his domain (the network of caves under Tyria). If the location of his cave (and the adjecent central transfer chamber) is the right location, this place is underground just north off Yakk’s bend waypoint in Frostgorge Sound. But currently unreachable. The entrance closest to this netwerk of caves was a lot more north just west of the hall of monuments.

There is NO smash your head on the keyboard and win profession. All profession have some nacks to play it. I love the engineer a lot, but I really had to learn to dodge and keep on moving as well as knowing when to use wich kit.

So if you are looking for a professiosn that makes the game easy forget it. Also keep in mind that any profession is very capable on beating any profession else in PvP when 1v1. The only problem is that it comes to how good you are. Again it comes to your own quality off skill.

Do not get me wrong, I’m not saying you suck at playing GW2. I am saying that every professions takes time to learn and understand and instead of just concluding that the class is bad, find out what your doing wrong, do it right again and if you don’t like the playstyle needed to be succesfull then you can say for yourself that that class is not your thing.

Yeah, the best way is to go to an entrance of a dungeon and spam 2LFM etc.

Make sure you tell them you want to do story mode (you need to complete it before doing explorer mode), and before going in explain that it takes a good amount of time to do it (for an unexperienced group, it ranges from 1-2,5 hours depending on the dungeon).

If this method keeps failing there might be something wrong with your approach to it. In that case finding a guild that does dungeons regularly and ask them for help will be the solution. A pug (pick up group) will just leave if you act like (dungeon)noobs, but a guild will explain what your doing wrong. follow in that case the advise and your ok.

afaik (preview in game) it is soulbound on use. So after making it you can give it to other characters and even sell it, but as soon as you have equipped it it is soulbound.

So in other words it is not allowed. Besides that taking over someones account is risky at best. The first user has knowledge of the gamekey and has proof that he bought it. Those are the things needed to regain access after being hacked. So in theory, the original owner can reclaim the account anytime and you end up with nothing.

Can’t really help you beside that I have seen it in the game somewhere in the last 2 days (but not in PvP), so it should be out there, but very likely witzh a different name. I didn’t like it and either vendored it or put it on the TP (checked, but it is gone).

The best way to find a group imo is to start finding friends. When your in the open talk to people in local chat. Say thank you when they rez you, or compliment them on the way they dressed their character. Ask questions and ask help witzh specifick things. In other words. Socialise. In the long term You will meet people with who you click and who might have the same goal in game or with who you click so good that you would want to adjust your goals, even if it means waiting up. It may sound very hippy-flowerpower-like but it is the best way to find friends, and friends form the best party’s.

I have no idea what’s up with the “overleveled engineers in the Dream” thing, but it’s getting really common. Is it botting for gold selling? I thought they removed most drops from tutorials. Is it botting to gain levels? Seems like a really weird way to do it. How are they even getting into the Dream? So many questions.

You can’t get into the dream after you left it (unless hacking the game wich is very hard and unlikely). If you don’t leave the dream (do the last bit) you can log off and get back in when you logon again, but you can’t do anything else (no asura portal or waypoint, so nothing to travel to).

If you see a level 40 in the dream, pls report them I dunno why, but there is no real reason to stay there. In GW1 there was asport of getting max level in the tutorial, but it was instanced so not bothering anyone (and anet even rewarded it later with a title), but in this game you are so much in the way of real starters that it is wrong and against the rules.

Hmmm, I update my armor with transformiggor stones (to keep the look I like) and whatever drops. I am currently level 63 and all my armor is atleast 52 or higher. Do not go for max stats untill level 80. I have on my level 63 character bout 2 gold atm (and bought the lvl 60 traitbook), but I spend 5 gold on the TP for gems to get some luxery stuff.

The thing with money making in a game is like real life. set your goals and stick with them. Do not fall for ‘hey with that i do 5 more damage/hit’ it is ok to invest in your character, but make saure you do it wisely.

When I am level 80 I will invest in max gear. The reason is that my goals are very high. I want the tier 3 armor and a legendary. This takes time. But till I’m 80 I will struggle a lil bit harder to get there and not waste money I will only use for like 20-30 hours (I might be slow in leveling, but thats all I need to get to 80 at max!). so bottom line, spent your money wisely, and put every 50 silver you have in the bank as soo nas possible so your tempted.

The other trick is to not use waypoints (unless dead or inside a town) Use your feet and on your way, pick up any gahtering nodes. It doesn’t take too much time, but instead of spending money you are making money.

Last advice is dedication and self discipline. Know what you are doing and what the reward is. But also enjoy the farm do not farm for the result, do it cause you like it, in the end your only getting pixels. On my guidlforum I made some guides to getting legendary weapons (I don’t have one btw but I will get it someday) and I ended it with the words that the prize at the end of the journey is the goal, but the journey itself is the reward.
