I am also mostly a solo player, but amvery much against this. Heroes destroyed GW1 in my opinion cause they where better then teaming up but there they where needed. In GW2 99% off all content (except dungeons) can be facerolled solo without any help. For the final 1% you might need some tricks (like something to give you stealth).
So there is no need for it beyond just convinience.
The issue is also with events. Many big world events and zergs in WvW are allready extremely laggy. If every player can also bring a few dozen heroes, then the game would become unplayable. So I’m sorry. If you want to play with heroes, GW1 still exist, but this is a different game and there is no place for them.

First of all, Ele’s are not squishy!
They can be actually pretty tanklike.Well in that case any profession can be tanklike if you trait it. Still the Elementalist is the squishiest profession of the game, they have light armor with the lowest amount of HP (like guardian and Thief). Their survivability come from their skill, heal, boons, etc. But they are still squishy (except if you give it a good amount of defensive stats/trait, but then again you can do that with all profession).
I disagree with you here.
Just cause they have less health and armor as other classes is a wrong statement. The amount of support from skills and traits is much more massive then any other class. Besides that, you can do it while not loosing a lot of pure DPS. That while with other classes you can make them more tanklike with traits and skills but that goes with the cost of a loss of lot of potential DPS. That last is not the case for ele’s so thats why they are not squishy in my book.

Hi,
Your friend can contact support with following directions (no need to log in): https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/How-to-Submit-a-Ticket-Account-Issues-2/first#post3954
If he has trouble with this and want to sent an email. The correct adress for support is support@guildwars2.com
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
- The apparent misspelling is in a resource and cannot be edited by individuals, as far as I know.
The misspelling is in a template. Everyone can edit templates (except from some veryimportant ones cause they would influence the entire wiki if you make a mistake).
This template can be found here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Template:Quartermaster/Camp
As you said, the wording is correct, so don’t change it but you can edit the template there.
If you have troubles making changes on the wiki you can do three things
a: write on the discussion page of the article what you think is wrong/right
b: See who originally made the template and ask that person on his/her talkpage
c: Use http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2_Wiki:Helpers to get help from an experienced wiki-editor.

i cant swap my weapons while moving this problem just came to me someone know how to fix it? i can swap weapons while my toon stands still but not while moving
Bout 17 hours ago, I was experiencing some lag spikes, as well as the person I was playing with. So can you tell if this problem has been sustaining, cause I suspect the cause was the lag.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
No there isn’t a temple merchant that sells bezerker backpiece. It also never existed. Also if you look at the naming of the items, the wiki doesn’t show the ’Beserker’s Spineguard and that page never existed.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Actually there is something ANet could do. If the problem is a DDoS attack, they could actually communicate that the recent connection issues are due to a DDoS attack, which they have not done so we are left guessing.
On the guildwars2 twitter account they posted…
- “I’ll try to update once we have found the problem”
- “I’ll update if we find a fix soon”
but didn’t ever post any substantive updates beyond that (both of those are pretty noncommittal, but still). So we might conclude that they (a) have not yet found the problem, and (b) did not find a fix “soon”.
The issue is that the DDoS attack isn’t the only issue. so by saying that that is it, they give the expectation that once that is over, the network lag will be over for everyone. Considering the other issue, This is not true.
Also in convincing and using leverage towards the ISP’s that need to make changes, it is not wise to do so. They will likely say in the discussion bout who did it: ’ You are admitting that you are having a ddos attack, so its not our problem and we can sitback and dont have to a thing’

First of all, Ele’s are not squishy!
They can be actually pretty tanklike.
In dungeons, mesmer are somewhat limited to special tasks and only an asset in some dungeons, for the rest they are considered, mild dps-ers. Ele’s can provide a lot more to the party when it comes to healing and when it comes to e.g. giving out summoned weapons to the party.
So in my opinion Ele is the best!!
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The problem is indeed new players. allready there is a thin balance to be found. See the following scenario:
New player buys the game. Reads about different races and picks Norn. He starts leveling and doing story’s and when he is level 24 he is sent to the north of Lornar’s pass. He enters just as people fail to kill the marionette and is like everyone else in the map instantly killed. He has no clue what happened, no clue what is going on. Thinks by himself: this game is too hard and idiotic. Uninstalls and asks for a refund.
This could be happening right now and a risk that Anet is taking with this event
This would be nice but on dedicated maps, not used for mapcompletion or leveling or personal story. So far that would be Southsun Cove. I am a big promotor of having some more maps like that for living world content. Maps where anet is not bound by rules like map completion and stuff like that.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
They got replaced by the Queensdale champtrain. Effective and more and better loot.
Keep in mind that many people don’t like the champtrain. It is more popular then the event chains and draining specially the other starting maps off people.
But if you are interested or atleast want to try it out.
The train is a chain of 4 (+2) champions people do in succession. from the four main, 3 are dynamic events. The extra two are also events. All champions give XP and the newly introduced champ-lootbags.
The 4 main champions are:
Boar (on a hill north-west of the hunting lodge in the queens forrest) (event)
Cave troll (in the cave near Vale’s Waypoint) (event)
Champion Oakheart ( south of Phiney waypoint) (event)
Champion Spider (on a hill southeast of the hunting lodge in queens forrest)
The ‘bonus’ ones are
Wasp Queen (between hunting lodge and Ojon’s lumbermill) (event)
Champion bandit (near the vista in Bandithaunt caverns) (event)
For the main 4 champions there are two rotations.
My personal favourite is:
Boar – Oak – Troll – Spider (BOTS)
Some servers prefer the alternate rotation:
Boar – Troll – Oak – Spider (BTOS)
BTOS save a lil bit of copper on waypointing. but BOTS has lesser risk of someone derailing.
All those champs spawn bout every 5-10 minutes, so the trick is to kill Boar, then go to the others. and when you killed the spider, you go back to the spawning location of boar (one person has to activate the pre-event in the lodge itself)
The wasp is not as much up as the others. So only killed when she is up.
Thje bandit is up as much as the others and can be done in every rotation. This is done on most servers after spider and before boar. However he is somewhat far away from a waypoint and you risk being not in time for boar (or missing the wasp). See Bandit as something you do when you are experienced at the others

First off all, Server issues are not game bugs, so this would belong in the technical support section. I believe there are two issues.
The first is that some major providers have some issues with routing traffic over optimal routes. This is likely due to some changes done at an American internet exchange. This means that providers needs to manually adept the way certain traffic is routed and some are slow in recognising that.
The second is that it seems that someone is trying to DDoS the servers. This leads to some issues (I experienced some yesterday, but it was minor lag. My friend who I was playing with had more serious issues, and I heard reports that some couldn’t connect at all).
It seems logical to assume that those people who are affected with both issues are totally unable to play. Unfortunally, against DDoS attacks, Anet only have limited means to fight it. For the other issues, all Anet can do is put leverage against other providers. So the statement they made ’We’re experiencing some technical problems right now and are looking into it. Sorry for the disconnect and login problems!’ is likely all they can tell.

First off all I love how Zhaitan looks and all. But I do think he is small compared to what we have to expect from other dragons.
The first reason is the fang of the serpent. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fang_of_the_Serpent
It shows that Jormag will be a lot bigger then Zhaitan, if this is just his fang.
Also Kalkatorix seems to be bigger to me if you look at his sleeping state: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Kralkatorrik.jpg
The only one that might be equal in size is Primordus:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Primordus.jpg
Off course it is pretty hard to compare sizes, specially cause GW1 and GW2 are two different games. But what do you think bout what we can expect from the size of the other elder dragons??
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
First off all, this arc of the story started more then a year ago with Flame and Frost as Scarlet was behind the scenes the mastermind off that as well.
I don’t think there will be a reward for those that finished the overarc achievements in all living story’s that had somewhat to do with Scarlet. The reason is that many people will complain that they where for some reason not able to do them, and can’t rectify this mistake.
So any reward will be scaled for the final of the arc. This doesn’t mean that imo the loot shouldn’t be good. A title (Slayer of Scarlet) is something I would wear with pride and honour
Also a more then average amount of AP’s should be in order. I’m not verymuch interested in yet another miniature or backpack piece or even a different kind of armor.
What would be a great reward on scale with this ‘Epic’ moment is a new part of all home instance that is universal to all. It would be an airship dock with your own private airship. This private airship, can be commanded to any of the other docks (the other home instances) and will contain some customizable elements. Maybe even function as the HoM in GW1 where your (account) acomplishments are displayed.

If I remember right, Anet doesn’t change the displayname unless it is offensive or uses a real life name. Cause this is a very exceptional situation, there is no tool for you to do it yourself. You can request a change by asking support. See this post with instructions how you can do this:

There is indeed a method.
a: Take soulbound armor A
b: get a low level white armor B from the TP (not from a merchant!)
c: use a transmutation stone (79 or below) or crystal (80) to transmuate the skin of item A on thestats of Item B. The result will be accountbound.
d: put it in your bank and pick it up on your other character. You can now equip the item, but the stats are bad. So you want to either copy the skin to a different item with desirable stats.
-Optional: instead of step D you can also get a transmuatation splitter, to get the original item with stats on the second character. It wil be accountbound/soulbound on use.

Hi Ula,
Anet has claimed many times that every suspension is done by humans and after they reviewed the evidence. As I udnerstand you want an arenanet official to review the case. Out of personal experience I know that this official will require the ticketnumber of the ticket where you asked to review your suspension.

MinoBG — I am sorry your friend is having difficulties, but what these good folks have said is accurate. The best thing is for the account owner — your friend — to contact Support if the game was purchased new and fully sealed. (I’ve known of a few unscrupulous resellers to replace the shrinkwrap on a box after the serial code has been used, but fortunately those situations are very rare.)
Am I correct, when I advised that in such situations one can always contact support to verify that the key is allready claimed by someone else and that the ‘new/faulty owner’ didn’t goof something up?? or is the stance for support that if he gets this error message, the account is secondhandbeyond doubt, and that he got scammed?
I also could imagine (you know I have a huge imagination -wink- ) that support would like to know the source, to track down people using your product as a scam on a professional level.

Ele!
Ele is quishy, but has lots of DPS, at later levels you can build them pretty tanky, and for WvW purposes there are lil tells wether you are a hidh dps, squishy ele or a semi-tanky ele that hits hard. you need some sturdier people around you to help you out, but it can be a lot of fun.
Don’t go ranger in WvW unless you are a commander. Rangers are great commanders, cause you can hide in the zerg, press 1 to get your personal reward, or depend on your pet to do it, and still type furious to do commanding things. you got decent speedboosts and good defensives, but your dps is bad for smaller groups.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Hmmmm. Not sure what the purpose of your thread is, but you posted in the players helping players section. I don’t see you need any help or that you offer some help. so I guess you posted in the wrong section. Maybe if you post it in the WvW subforum people will understand the purpose

This kind of armor doesn’t need expensive dyes, it looks good all ready, as you look now you look too much as a manequin showing it off (no offense). Try simple dyes, that you allready have. I bought the flamekissed set today and put it on my pink mushroom-head ele (female). I tried many dyes but ended up with ashen. That one had a great contrast with my skin colour and makes the flames pop out. It also fits the theme of the armor.
I would tryin your situation ,two grey tints, one dark and one light. actually, I would use the current darker colour, but replace the red with a matte light grey tint. It will make a great contrast with the darker lines, wihtout making it too artificial. The lightercolour will fit the weapon on your back, and it will look very natural and fresh.

Hey community,
I’d like to ask for your help/advice.
…..all the classes look so interesting that I could see myself leveling them just to experience the diverse classes. Any of the things I mentioned sounds fun. But I simply don’t budget enough time into the game to do it all.
………..So as you can see from how convoluted and meandering my post is, my time spent ingame is meandering and unfocused.
Sorry to not quote you fully
But those two bits center the issue imo.
I guess you have some experience with other MMO’sand maybe even the ones with monthly fees.
GW2 doesn’t require monthly fees. spending money in the gemstore is appreciated but optional. The game will still be there 3-4 years from now. It has been 9 years since the original guildwars got released, and you can still play it.
So why the hurry?? A game like this, specially when you have a busy schedule is always here, whenever you want to relax, have somefun time!
It doesn’t matter if you are not as good as your neighbour. I don’t judge and I don’t think many others will judge you. If they do, just ignore them. they are the trolls.
GW2 is designed to have huge potential, but no rush. you can do things at your own speed. Yes you might miss some off the living story, but the goal is simply to bridge the gap between expansions. On top of that, theyare turning it more and more into permanent content. So you can prolly escape form LA next week or 3-4 years from now.
You got atleast 5 character slots. There is nothing wrong with using them all, logging into the game, look at them and think ‘Who am I gonna pick today’.
So my advise, Make that Guardian. Don’t rush him, just enjoy the process of leveling. It is not supposed to be a burden, we all come here to spent our free time and have fun!.

Dungeons are one very disappointing part of this game. Ever since they changed the way wp’s work in them I’ve given up totally as there’s not even any way to learn what must be done to avoid dying. People will say ‘learn to dodge’ but I wasn’t able to figure out how to dodge out of an entire room covered in 2 shot kill rings with only 2 dodges. Frustration does no equal fun gameplay.
On the plus side there are lots of things to do and areas to explore!
I hardly ever die in dungeons but some are tricky, that is the purpose of dungeons.
The issue with most pugs nowadays is that they want perfection and dont take time to learn the tricks to people.
For example for Ascalonian catacombs p3.
Room one 1: an easy kill.
Room 2 one experienced person stays with the npc’s, the rest runs ahead. This so a mob can be skipped (jsut to speed things up cause it doesnt drop anything and takes time). the rest goes ahead to room 3. there the person in room 2 activates the npc’s and the path is slected (3 in this case)
Room 3: all stack up in a specific spot in a corner (no dodging or anything). One experienced person pulls spdiers there till the queen spawns, and she is pulled there too. When someone is downed kill a lil spider to rally or rez eachother, cause you are all stacked it goes easy, and cause the queen hits walls mostly, the damage is a lot less.
Room 4: all stack in a corner, a few mobs are pulled, the breeder has to go down firstm then the rest. after that one person runs through the traps and pulls the chains to disable the traps.
Room 5: Kohler requires the same tactic as the spider queen, stack up in a corner and use the trashmobs to rally or rez eachother. the position makes sure most damage you should get goes to the walls.
Room 6: skip all mobs, dont fight, just run for your life
Room 7: only attack burrows, and if you have time in between elite mobs, ignore the rest.
Room 8: skip again all mobs, dont fight, just run for your life
Room 9: Same as room 7, the burrows are bigger and have more mobs, but with dodging you can avoid much damage, if needed use a trashmob to rally yourself, when the burrow is done run to the next.
Room 10: skip again
Room 11: final boss, stack up in a corner pull him and kill him from there, rez party members if needed.
As you can read, there is almost no dodging, mostly stacking in a corner (basicly all player stand in corner on eachothers toes, very romantic )
But if you don’t no these things you are called a noob, kicked out and not many people are willing to learn those things and take a lil bit more time to explain it.

Since when is loosing valuable diskspace a win??
That’s is a very good question considering my SDD is 120G ><
Why is my .dat file so big compared to yours?I suppose you have that since beta? it has some old files and has bigger size.
A fresh new updated one should only be about 17gb
I have my dat file since bwe3, and never redownloaded it either. I got just slighty more then the others here.
I think this person downloaded some language files (on purpose or by accident).

GW2 is a very different game then other MMO’s. Survivabillity doesn’t really come from gear, but from your skills. You wont loose half of your HP if you dodge the attack. Yes you are right as melee you will hit some damage, that is why all classes have ranged weapons as well and can swap weapons in combat. So if the fight gets tuff, switch to ranged.
You said you played thief and mesmer. Mesmer is considered one of the hardest classes to level. It is low on damage and slow.
The thief is excellent for melee, but it is pretty hard to master. you might want to practise things first on easy mobs and as said use ranged on the harder mobs. I’m only used to dagger dagger on my thief, and it requires a lot of moving nad use of skills. You can use your skill 2 to quickly jump on enemy’s and skill 3 to jump over them and doing damage. This also counts as a dodge in a way to avoid damage. but you need to controll your character then with your right mouse button locked all the time. This takes some practise.
If you insist on playing melee most of the time I would recommend rolling a guardian or a warrior. They are truly made for melee.
Dungeons are end game content. I know they are recommended for level 35, but it is a pain then. Better is to wait till later.
Also during leveling it is actually advisable to gear more then somewhat tanky, specially if you have lil experience. The fights take longer, but you have a better change to survive.
If you are on an EU server, feel free to add me to your friendslist. If im not doing other things, I’m happy to guest to your server and show you a thing or two, I got a level 50 warrior and all other classes at 80 (2 off them not fully geared yet).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
All of the above are awesome gold making strategies. I’m still too low level on my main to be able to do a lot of the dungeons and stuff, so I had to make my own plan. It’s still not nearly as profitable as a lot of the other tried and true ways, but I’ve found that converting laurels to gold is pretty easy. I’ve been buying the 10-pack of unidentified dyes and selling them on the trading post. I just made 13 gold off of that alone, last night. I know it’s not a lot, but it does add up.
When leveling up your first character don’t spend gold. This is a thing I would not advice. Laurels are very handy for getting level 80 trinkets, as well as working your way to legendary weapons. So when leveling, better save those laurels till you know what they are needed for later.
Also, pls don’t necro a thread thats this old. A lot of the info in it is outdated.

The /age command produces in my case the following.
’you have played this character for 1,603 hours 45 minutes over the past 339 days.
Across all characters, you played for 3,819 hours 45 minutes over the past 534 days.
’
This means that my account is created 534 days ago (the day of launch off the game, retail version prepurchase so 1 day headstart).
The character I was logged in was created 339 days ago (birthday present soon – yaaaaay )
In total I have played for 3,819 hours 45 minutes on all my characters. on the character I was logged on when using the command I have played 1,603 hours 45 minutes
These figures (the days) are exactly correct. It has nothing to do with days you played. So either your friend has a bug in his system or he forgot he actually bought the game only 6 days before you.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Hi,
This is an automated process. The system is designed that you only get banned from matches when you are getting dishounered three times. This to prevent mishaps due to a single or double dc. The dishonorable status This is an acutal buff, so you can see your progress (if you got two stacks you are in the danger zone). So one side of the story is that you where warned. If you want to discuss this system, the pvp-subforum is the place to be.
The other side is that an Arenanet official has admitted that last night the server had performance issues. So it might be a good suggestion in the direction of Arenanet to have a button to wipe all dishonorables in such a situation cause many more then usual can be false. Feel free to suggest this as well in the PvP subforum.

Did you buy a new boxed retail version?? or second hand?
If it is a new boxed retail version, your friend needs to do what IC is saying.
If it is second hand. Accounts (you buy an account that grants access) is personal and can’t be traded to someone else. You can always ask support to confirm this, but if possible you should try to get your money back asap (through paypal dispute, creditcard company dispute, etc). Also the original owner/seller of the account agreed to the terms of service where this is clearly explained. So he is in many country’s in violation off the law (scamming). So it might be good to report this to the police.
Hope its just a glitch, and if not you get your money back. Good Luck!!

Whats the best way to describe a lfg speed run? cause i hate being mean to people even though they jion without reading the post. how do you make sure you can avoid trash pugs? whats your way?
In my personal opinion it doesn’t help to make crazy demands. I’ve been doing many pugs in specially AC.
I often see the lf speedrun, zerker only, 80 only, don’t be a noob. The groups turn out to be started by narrow minded elitist wannabe’s. All the preparations and kicks halfway etc, makes the potential time gain be actually lost. Besides that, in that dungeon, my record for p3 is 13 minutes. It was a pug, we had 2 level 60’s but everyone was just very relaxed, knowing what to do and it not wining bout everysingle element not being perfect making it a very speedy run
When pugging, don’t expect speedruns. That only decently works in guild-teams.
If you want to be in succesfull speedruns I suggest to join a specialized guild. there are several cross server guilds that don’t require representing, but just being a valuable player in dungeons who knows what to do. Using guildchat for finding speedruns is much better imo.

I spoke too soon…
I contacted them 20 hours ago, I did expect a response within 2-4 hours.. I know you will recommend to wait up to 3 days, sadly from what i read in other posts, i doubt they will respond to that matter. As they didn’t to couple exact posts before.Would there be any alternative. I don’t ask for much, just to be teleported from Lions Arch back to Lions Arch default spawning location. I hope that makes sense.
Sincerely,

Unfortunally you need to wait till support handles this. If they don’t respond within 72 hours (did you saw the post bout not getting emails??!!) you should post the ticketnumber in the designated sticky (tickets for review).
Support very often reacts quicker then 72 hours, but as Gaile said, luckely this bug doesn’t happen too often. It might be (purely speculating here) that it requires a specialised action that can not be performed by any arenanet support agent but goes to a special agent that is working during office hours.

I understand what you are saying bout drastic changes. But there is also a lot of complaining bout the current way it is and a big call for changes. I know Anet for a long time. If the nerf off bezerker is not going to work, they will nerf it further and further.
In my proposal you keep full bezerker as a viable build for in a group, but not for every member of the group. Yes it requires people to review their current build. But I think from time to time that is a good thing anyways. But in my opinion it would add more dimension to the game. I loved in GW1 that before doing a task, you needed to communicate with your group. Two ritualist? ok, make sure you don’t have same spirits. Who is going to heal?? Hey, I think we have too less DPS, can anyone change?? It makes a pug (or any dungeon group) more fun instead of seeing an advert on the lfg: ‘p1, zerker only, need mesmer’ and thats all communication to the team. It is not challenging and imo just lame.
This will require people to talk to eachother. And I’m talking bout dungeons but it also goes for WvW (do we have enough ele’s with this special trait in the zerg?? can anyone change). Or for Tequatl (any mesmer with the trait that enhances portal distance so we can portal from the zerg to the megalaser??).
Also I think that a gaming community is more ressiliant then you think. I remember from GW1 that builds and meta changed big timer with every new campaign. Also the introduction off 7 heroes in you party, was widely critised and debated but people adapted quickly and came up with some awesome teambuilds.

Mercury, thanks for the information. I have two top fans and a rear fan blowing on the CPU cooler. So it stays cool, don’t ever feel heat from it.
Still, all signals indicate an overheating CPU, so thats where I think you should troubleshoot. The only other thing can be a faulty indicator, but wouldnt cause a BSOD, and the indicator is embedded in the BIOS, so as long as you didn’t update the BIOS, then I find that very unlikely, while the symptoms make an overheating CPU very likely.

Hi,
I’m a player like you so I can’t comment on your request for oversight by an arenanet official. I also think this is the wrong place to ask for such a request.
There is a lively discussion in the technical support forum, dev’s also have responded.
There are 3 common reasons for networklag.
1: server issue. the arenanet server is down and nobody is able to play. I can clearly state that this is not the case cause I can get online (and see many others in game). Also the amount of complaints is very limited compared to a full outage at Arenanet’s side(wich means an explosion off complaints, in duch a situation, in almost all forums a thread is running, with 10 new reply’s per minute, and the gw2 facebook and twitter account is flooded with complaints as well).
2: A client side issue. Your game client needs repairing, or your home internet line is faulty, or your modem/firewall is blocking ports or have some flood protection. Anet can assist with this, but it is no reason for an RFO.
3: An internet service provider (your own, or one hired by your’s to handle traffic further across the world) is having issues. Seeing the recent increase over the last weeks of posts in the network lag topic in the technical support issue it seems that this is the case. As I understand some major internet hubs have changed routing. If your service provider isn’t fully aware of this, it means that they are routing people over the wrong path resulting in this issue. anet can help in detecting this issue and helping in putting pressure on the service providers, but they don’t have access to the buttons and can not be hold responsable for this issue.
My advice is to help in the discussion thread in the technical support part of the forum.
the reason I did fully answer you is cause you posted in the account issues section. That subect deals with another topic related to your case called refunds.
If you bought the game directly at Arenanet and if you are permanently unsattisfied, you can ask for a refund. Your account wil then be PERMANENT be closed and you account can not be too old (I don’t know the full amount of time, and there might be some leanway, depending on the story, but if you played for over a year, it is logic you don’t get a refund).
If you bought the game 2 days ago I would encourage you to try and wait for a bit longer. As said, posting in the technical support section in the network lag thread and reading the comments by others might help a lot. but if you want a refund, you can ask for one by submitting a support ticket.
note: if the game is purchased through a retailer, you need to ask them for a refund. My personal experience is that the refund policy is often less decent then when you bought directly at Arenanet.

The CPU fan is a fanless cooler, XIGMATEK Thor’s hammer HDT-S126384 CPU Cooler. I’m not sure how I would check to see if it is working.
The error is indicating that the cpu-cooler isnt working properly. This can be cause the indicator is wrong, but more likely cause the fan itself is faulty.
Looking at the fan and comparing to other, it can be a simple matter of blowing dust out of the fan ribs. For a fanless cooler, it is very important to loose the heat through the ribs. if they got full of dust this will reduce the cooling power as far that it will not cool enough anymore.
A message like this at startup should always be taken serious! keeping the computer running while it is saying that the fan is not working properly can damage the cpu permanent.
An overheated CPU will cause a black screen so that makes sense. you can often check this by placing your hand on the other side off the pc where the cpu is, even with the cover on, if a cpu is seriously overheating, you should be able to feel the heat.
Do not test too much with the pc on.
The following instructions is only if you know what you are doing and build the pc yourself. if thats not the case, bring it to the person who build the rig, or to a specialised repair shop.
Remove the fan and clean it (vacuum cleaner is awesome to get the dust out between the ribs), remove old cooling paste and apply new paste. and place the cooler back and test if the problem is solved.
If this doesn’t solve it, get another cooler (e.g. if you bought your cpu boxed, the one that came with the box) and see if that solves the issue.
Keep in mind that a box cooler can be a good temporary solution, but for serious gaming it is my advice to get a new professional cooler.
I’m personally not a big fan of fanless coolers. Any good pc needs a good airflow and a decent cooler with silent fan running on a low rtm has an almost simular effect. specially cause most pc’s still have one or more HDD’s that make more noise then a silent cpu-fan.

The inactive asuran gates in LA
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
I do believe that the gates are there for future content and I don’t think that content is abbanded. From the beginning Anet has been clear when they talked bout expansions or expansion type content.
I also think that the lore behind asura gates has shifted somewhat since release. Looking at the amount of time they have been building these, and looking at some other newly created gates, they newest generation gates can be build much faster and more efficient. They even have mobile gates nowadays (SE p1) or gates that appear overnight (fotm, southsun cove). So guess this won’t be a big problem. Our enemy’s even have technology to make somewhat stable gate-less portals. So after we kill her off, we can confiscate and refine that technology as well.

Why? This would only REMOVE diversity.
Right now I have a very tight tank dedicated fully to support with cleric gear and 0 0 10 30 30.
Your suggestion would remove all the power I need for my main source of damage (retaliation).
It would also be left with a kittenty amount of toughness compared to what I have right now.
I would instead be given tons of vitality which I simply do not want.In definitive, my condition cleansing, regenerating retaliatory tank would turn into a useless condition sponge which would die to crits and power.
You do know that you have 6 gearpieces, and not all have to be Clerics. You can still combine, but now through your gear.

A hot topic in this game is the lack of diversity on builds. Almost everyone goes for bezerkerstats and it is considered the most optimum stats.
The reason in my opinion is the lack of defined roles.
Within the trinity you had very clear roles. You where a healer, a tank, DPS or a specialist (e.g. conditions or CC). In GW2 we need to do all those roles and we need to do them in one build. The most effective build is bezerker.
I don’t want to bring the trinity back, but I would like to see the diversity back and the promotion of roles.
Many bezerker builds get the protection and survivabillity from the traitstats and traiteffects.
My solution would be to revamp the whole system and trait effects and what they do. The first step is to remove them from the hero’s panel and also remove the training manuals. instead the stats are added to the armor stats. So instead of getting 300 power from your traits your armor gets boosted by 50 power each (or maybe distribute a bit better to get more from your chest and less from your headgear, but a total of 300). however, you only get this if you use armor with power as primary item
If your armor uses power as the secundary stat it will be a total of 200, and the third stat will be worth 100.
The total amount of stats will be the same, but going beserker will mean you go fully beserker. Depending on the stats, the armor will also recieve a boost. This is a boost equal to the current static trait effect and depends on the class (e.g. Zealot’s speed if you equip a primary power armor piece on a guardian)
runes will work as normal.
All armor will get an extra slot called a ‘traitslot’
The skilltrainers will get replace with trait-traders.
They will sell you traits. and get smart in reading your gear and advising you. The traits they sell are numbered I-II-II-IV-………….-XI-XII. If you are a guardian, and you put trait V on armor with toughness as a primary it will result in the trait Purity (now the toughness trait (valor) V for guardians). If you put it on armor with power as primary it will result in Shattered Aegis (now the power trait (Zeal) V for guardians).
This change should be combined with a rebalance of foes and a rebalance of those traits. Many more traits should have an effect that will also be granted to up to 5 allies.
What does this mean. If running a dungeon with people with only bezerker gear you still do awesome damage, but you will have big trouble to survive and make it to the end. However, bringing e.g. an ele with one Knights armorpiece with trait III (Earth’s Embrace) will result in an ele that will give automaticly armor of earth to all party members who’s health drops below 50%. This will not be enough to save the party, but as you know, each party member can bring an armorpiece that has a different stat then beserker and bring something to the team that helps in surviving. Or you could bring one person with armor and traits that contrate on surviving.
I think this would be a decent solution to bring diversity in builds back to the game.

Hello,
What happened to fixing condition damage in pve to allow more stacks per player? We had all these threads with hundreds of posts talking about them and then they disappeared. We had posts from over a year ago from Colin saying they were looking into it and working on a solution.
Does Arenanet hope they can just sweep this under the rug and we will forget? It is pretty hard to forget since condition damage was designed to be a main damage source through abilities and stats on items.
How did the current limitations of condition damage pass through quality control? If this was known about during the initial design and creation of the game, why did they knowingly design conditions the way they did throughout the game?
Can you please link the post by Colin where he said that. I went through ALL posts by Colin on this forum and can’t find anything. (method used: find a post by colin, click his name and show all posts, use ctrl+f to search the page on ‘condi’, repeat for all pages with his posts.
The reason I’m askign is that if he said something like this, he likely did not promise a fix, just that they recognise the issue and will look into it. If he did promise a fix that is totally different situation, but I fear you are fooled by sweet talk. All is in the wording.
I haven’t found the one by colin yet, but here is the most recent dev post on the issue from 11 months ago:
“Actually this is not true and is something we are actively looking at. We have a number of solutions that we are talking about and when we are able to figure out which one will have the least impact on balance, performance, and testing we will put that solution in place as soon as possible.
Jon”
Thanks,
I only looked at Colin’s posts cause you mentioned him. As said, Arenanet is pretty good at sweettalking. They did not not promise anything, nor committed themself to a timeframe. Seeing how they handle situations where they did give a timeframe (eg: craftable precursor), this statement is as good as ‘We hear you and we might change things someday in the next 5 years, but it might as well be different.’
Hearing the reasons for the bezerker nerf they are planning, they might as well claim that that will be their solution.
To me, this is a non issue. I have some condition based builds, but its on my alts. I don’t bring them to dungeons or WvW. I do some solo pve with them but then it is a minopr issue cause when solo.the stacking problem isn’t a huge issue. At worldbosses it is an issue, but then again, as long as you get one hit in you get the reward anyways.
But still it is sad to see how the game is evolved to be a single playstyle game. The problem however is in my opinion deeper then just conditions being useless or zerker OP. This is a direct result from removing the trinity. with the trinity we where forced to play certain roles and we where forced to specialize. Without the trinity we need to be tank/dps/cc/healer/condition dealer all at once. The most effective build in there is bezerker, so everyone go there. I do understand the reasons for saying goodbye to the trinity, but the solution to start with is bringing back the need for specialisation. This includes the specialism for dealing conditions.
One way to start is some minor changes to the condition stacking issue. removing the stack limit completely will mean however that conditions will be the new zerker. So the solution should be in scaling it up properly.

yea i tried all of the above and still nothing and still no responce from support on the issue been 3 days now
Stephen, put your support ticket number in the Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older thread, Gaile Gray looks at that and should be able to help you.

There’s definitely something bugged here, you have demonstrably 100%ed the world so they should be able to sort out the missing Gifts.
This indeed. But before you do that, please check this post, you might have missed the reply: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Not-Getting-Our-Mails-Yahoo-Gmail-Hotmail-and-more

For GW1 players LA was a special place. It took us from concern only about Ascalon to the big world. It was the port to New Lands. We got involved with its politics, its very survival. It was a special place.
And now it will be destroyed. To me, it seems like a final nail in the coffin of GW1 and its relationship to this game and story.
It is a sad ending to a great city that survived so much, only to be finally undone by a second rate villian with a contrived plotline unrelated to former Tyrian lore.
The last vestige of the old game. This is more of an exorcism than a living story.
For me I don’t think there is room for any more coffin nails unless they hammer nails on top of nails. I played the game for so long before I realised I was waiting for the game to become a true sequel to GW which, let’s face it, is never going to happen. I think the old GW dev’s are all but gone, the consolised Michael Bay div’s are running the show now.
Hey, im not saying you should like the game or not, but this is not true. The current game director has been with Arenanet since atleast 2007 (his gw1wiki page was made then, but thats also the year the gw1 wiki was started, so prolly a lot longer).
Same goes for game designer Isaiah Cartwright, who has a prominent role as a dev, within Arenanet.
Bobby Stein (writer) has been with Arenanet since 2005.
Those are just some names I remember from the old days.
Yes some good names have left the company as well (Miss you Kekai Kotaki!!), but that happens everywhere.
The fact that both the writing team and game designing team have influential people from the early days, as well as a game director that has been with Arenanet forever, means that you are very wrong in this. As said, you don’t have to like the direction they are going, but there are still many off the old crew there.

While there may always be a Lions Arch, I feel they intend for it to be historical and as meaningful as the ruins of the Temple of Ages. By removing it as a player center they remove a lot of GW1 baggage connected to the site.
Then they can do whatever they wish to create “new” untroubled by connections to that “other” game.
I always remember what one of the early leads for Everquest 2 stated.. “the worst thing we ever did was name this Everquest 2”. 2 implies continuity for many, and some feel the label hampers creativity in new games. I honestly feel they may be distancing themselves even more from GW1 to allow for content unhampered by GW1 lore and connections.
Time will tell.
Nowhere it is said that Lion’s arch will be permanetly destroyed. Also nobody said that the vigil keep will be the new permanent central town.
Actually, the fact that it is the Vigil keep indicates they have plans for the future. Making the Vigil keep the permanent new central town and transit hub will mean uneven promotion for the Vigil against the other two orders.
So I do believe a new central town will be build and I do believe it will be lion’s arch. If it will be rebuild as it was, or in a new refurbished way, remains to be seen, but a change of scenery doesn’t hurt in my experience. specially if they keep my new lighthouse (and make it open for public).

I have to disagree with the fact that there is not much to do when you are level 80. Besides designated level 80 content like living story (can be done on lower levels, but is ment to keep us busy between expansions), there are dungeons, Fractals of the mist, world boss events, and regular farming or train farming. You can also go PvP or WvW.
The issue many players had, specially at the start is that they expected this to be like msot MMO’s where you aren’t a real players untill you are max level. This way they missed out a lot.
So my actual advice is to use your level 80’s to make a new character, but this time don’t rush to 80, but take your time. Try to boost the crafting up to max while you level. Go full map exploration. Do events you encounter.

Champ train is slightly more effective then dungeons, but it is a lot more boring and most people can’t do it more then an hour per day.
