1: Exploiting is not allowed
2: buying dungeonpaths is at own risk, if you get scammed, you won’t get your money back.
3: scamming itself is not allowed, so if you got scammed, report the scammer so support can ban him. If it is impossible to report ingame you can make a support ticket. include as much info as possible. make sure that when you tell them the time when it happened, you also mention the timezone you are in.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
A friend of mine told me that Anet has started to ban a lot of Exploiter that abused skip in dungeon to sell them.
But he also told me that they banned even legit that were selling too much dungeon in a day.Is this true, or he just missunderstood? I don’t want to get caught in the net for selling too much CM…
Everytime exploiters are banned, these kind of rumours pop up. The tactic is to cause public distress to spread doubt at anet in the hope they rewind the bans.
Also people often hide the things they mis-did to others and try to put the blame on others even when they know they are wrong.
Support has claimed many times that bans are done after a manual review by a human being. Some claim thats not the case (perhaps again the people who profit from public distress??), but I have so far never seen proof. It is likely that they will track exploiters by flagging accounts as suspicious when they sell an x amount of dungeons. But as said, only after being reviewed by a GM the banhammer will be used.
Off course, GM’s are only human and reviewing 100+ exploiters a day can mean they see wrong figures where they aren’t there. So If you are suspended for exploiting and you did not exploit, then feel free to file a support ticket and ask for a review of the decission.

here someone gave a preview of frostfang, moot and bolt.
He also eqips them at the same time.
Check it out.
Thanks for confirming. Too bad he had bolt on his mesmer. I suspect that the lightning effect off bolt mixes with the moot-aura cause the lighting isnt really an aura, but still not sure bout that.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
No, and it is not really a bug.
Between a light in the darkness and the first Apatia story you likely have been in a personal story instance that was started by someone else. When you at the end accept to continue your own story to the same result you choose to take over all elements off that story line. This includes a different thing chosen at the end of a light in the darkness. So this can very well be e.g. retribution.
At this point there is nothing that can be done bout it. If this issue was found before doing forging the pact, you could have looked for someone to lead the instance that is on the right ‘greatest fera’ to get back on that track. But at this point you are stuck with it.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
As stated by a dev bout some off these ‘objects’. Many things have been put in game with a possible purpose. Examples are the dessert gate, the path in the north-west corner of frotsgorge, the asura device in the caves north off fort trinity and also these.
Many people think they have been placed with a very sharp image in mind for the future use. But often it is just a loose idea.
So yes they are still possibillity’s, but nothing else.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
When there would be a competing aura, the mainhand one would override the offhand one. However, only warriors can equip a mace offhand, so in the mainhand it would be either another moot (same aura, no problem, but it doesn’t intesify), Frostfang: no aura, just an icy hand. Only bolt could cause some issues so I leave that to someone who actually tested it to answer, but I don’t suspect any issue here.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Still the book and the vigil cutscene is massivly different in my opinion. I visualize myself that if breathing it would be a conelike shape infront of himself that would touchdown before he actually passes. In the cutscene you see how his shadow first passes over and then the actually branding happens.
Guess once again Anet choose for the dramatic effect instead off following their own lore.

You can transmuation crystals also for free if you farm BL-keys or as a rare reward for doing daily/monthly. Many people don’t care bout looks of armor and never use those crystals. I even know someone who saw this as a perfect way to transfer karma to gold.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
No, any change as you propose will grief others and make the freedom to do what you want and play with who you want violated.
The only real solution is to dismantle the entire server system and work with one massive server with layers for zones as they are needed. A layer is basicly an overflow, but more dynamic.
If you are participating in an event or eventchain you will always stay in your layer/overflow. If you are in ‘agro’ you will always stay on your layer. However, if you ar e not in an event and not in agro, you can be transported to another layer. this goes seamingless without any loadingscreen at all. If you party up with someone, you will automatically be placed in the same layer. party’s are always transported between layers at the same time.
This system would solve your issues, nothing of what you say would.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Does this no longer work?
Haven’t done it in a while. Have you run into trouble and if so, what was it??
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I don’t farm at all.
I have been in the lucky possition that I have 9 character slots. One is for keyfarming. the others are permanent slots. At the time that magic find was released I only had 3 characters at level 80. I now got 7 at level 80, and the 8th is getting close. Only the not level 80 blues and greens I get are salvaged for luck. The result is that I’m getting close to be above 100 MF.
Normally a newly created account that level to 80 earns about 15 gold. Cause it is only blues and greens I salvaged I estimate I would loss bout 7-8 gold cause off this tact per character I leveled. But, thanks to ascended gear, the not top tier mats like linnen, have been increased, a lot, and my tactic just delivers that a lot, making my method actually profitable instead of costing money.
The money-luck ratio is very important. You always have to ask yourself. How profitable a certain percentage off luck will be and how much it cost to get that amount of luck. For example, say you max to 300% MF, but it has cost you 15k gold in salvaged (wasted materials). Lets say that the amount of profit you get from that extra magic find is 25% (you get a higher chance on getting rarer materials, but that chance is allready low, so the change still is low if compared to not rare items). This means you need to earn 60k gold before you start making profit.
So the fact that I will be at 100% MF (through luck) without making any investment, means that I can start making profit strait away.

All pugs do this and I don’t think it will change. The reason is time.
The stacking does help a lot in increasing the time. Stacking has three important reasons. The first is to block damage from foes in the walls, while you can attack them perfectly.
The second reason is that boon’s/buffs and group heals are more easy to shared and garanteed to go to all, also the use of combo’s become a lot easier.
The third reason is that you can rez much quicker.
For example the spider in AC. The non stacking tactic would be:
1: take down a few off the small spiders, AND the gargoyles on the wall
2: take down the rest off the spiders til lthe queen pops
3: kill the queen by kiting and jumping around. Keep in mind, she will attack everyone. WoW had tanks, this game does not. Due to the need to keep dodging and moving around you have a lot less time to cast skills. Protective skills like boons can easily miss people, and when someone goes down, they are out before help arrives.
So in short, Stacking will cut the time in half for all groups!
As for skipping. The reason groups are skipped is very simple. They don’t drop anything and actually many off them are pretty annoying and hard to kill off.
So, without judging your annoyance, I do not see why and how it will happen that this will change in PUG’s. If you want to try and tackle dungeon in a more traditional way, you can try to make a lfg with the description LFG pX no stacking/no skipping and see what happens. If that fails I suggest trying to find a guild that can be convinced to do it your way and do it with guild groups.

Where do you expect the entrance to be??
The reason I’m asking is that the entrance isn’t blocked or unlocked or anything. I suspect you think the dwarfen door under the tribulation rigt puzzle chest is the netrance (or alternatively the room where the reward for killing the dredge commissar is. However, the entrance is high up, on the same level as where the chest for tribulation rift is. It is always open, the only reason you have to do the rift puzzle first is cause the entrance is next to the chest.

The status of a ’full’server is mostly depending on the amount off online accounts. Often there are so many people activly playing that the system deicdes to close the gate to prevent flood. There often is a window of opportunity where you can get through. This is when nobody else is playing. Your best bet is to try in the middle off the night.

Looking at the forum and your past posts you had a brake from (atleast the forum) off almost a year, your recent posts are a month ago and then it jumps to a year ago (wich can easily be 22 months ago btw, everything less then 2 years and more then a year shows as a year ago).
I did saw a post earlier today by you and it made me think; hmmm with that name he might get some issues. I didnt take any action, but apperantly I wasn’t the only one.
In the end it is as it is. Personally I don’t care, but it is a violation of the naming policy and they don’t let you choose yourself. I don’t think that support will take a different stance on this occassion.
See it as an native american name given to you at birth, if you look at it that way it is very epic. Imagine you being born, and the first thing seen outside the tipi is an Ox looking at your sox.

Would the dragonbrand be any use for guessing the width of Kralk’s wings?? It depends off course a bit on how he actually created it. There are imo three options.
1: everything that was under his wingspan turned into the brand
2: everything that was udner his body turned into the brand
3: he breathed or farted something conelike and all that it hit was turned into the brand
I think it is the first:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3CdIjf9uHY
This video shows a shadow of him passing by and shortly later, anything that was touched by his shadow turned into the brand. So I think that the dragonspawn is as wide as his wings are

Why not have a portal in LA (or the next capital) that teleports you directly into your home instance, that you also have to exit from. I think having a personal teleportation stone that you carry around could be abused, and as the home is instanced, makes it seem like the world is less populated if too many people start spending too much time in there.
How could it it be more abused then the HoM stone or the button in the pvp window to travel to the mists. Obviously, you can’t use it when in battle, same would go for such a stone, but it would do the same thing, nothing more or less. so nothing abbusive imo.

Your accountname has (prolly) be changed cause of a violation of the naming policy. Ido think you know why. Cause it is an accountname, you are not allowed to pick your own new name. Keep in mind, the only reason an accountname will be changed is cause someone accidentally used they’re real life name or cause it is a violation of the naming policy. So in that the system is fair. You agreed to the naming policy before you choose this name, you did choose badly, so it has been changed by exception to something that support found more appropiate. In my opinion very fair.
(but I understand that you want to try offcourse)

Well if you stayed in the races cites and not just LA you would only have to tp once at most but most ppl need to be in LA soon to changes lol.
Well compared to a stone, even being in DR would mean running to Salma’s or wp-ing there. both take the same amount of time, so I count that as a loading screen too
A stone would make sense and would promote the use of the home instances, maybe with the small adjustment, that the exit portal works as the portal in EotN, it portals you to the last place you where (though I don’t mind if it leads to the racial town, we allready have the HotM to go to LA/replacement Vigil keep without paying.

Yeah i submitet ticket 3 days ago, after i made this post i found the sticky…
Yeah well, at least to reset the boots skin so i can use it on something else, and some tip that not all armors can change color would be great…
Making mistakes like this takes few years from liftime.
No problem, It is why I asked for the purpose
Glad you found the sticky and I see you made a post there -yaaaaaay-
As for your problem. I actually had something simular. I bought the new flamekissed armor (yes, I actually like it and prefer it over the old one, but I never have been a fan of t3 human light armor either). and the dyes on my boot just didnt stick. It turned out I had another dye on it that I didn’t really own. After changing that channel it sticked on without a problem. Maybe thats whats going on for you??

Hi Lexiar,
Can I ask what your purpose off this post is?? This is something that Support has to solve. I udnerstand that you made a ticket?? then I am certain they will provide you with a swiftly answer.
If for some reason your ticket is not resolved within 72 hours something went wrong, you can use the sticky thread (tickets for review).
If you just made your ticket, posting here has no use whatsover.
Hope you get your answer soon. Good Luck!

The gear in the boxes is PvP-only.
Keep in mind that just today Arenanet announced that they aregoing to revamp the rewardsystem for sPvP. on March 18th, Glory will be removed as a reward and also the glory rank merchants that sell these boxes will be removed on that date. For any remaining glory you might have left over, the generic glory merchant will remain, atleast for some time.
This is the first step in the revamp off the reward system in sPvP. Not much is known, but as I understand, they want rewards for sPvP be more in line with PvE rewards. This might include a change that pvp-only gear becomes usable in PvE and the other way around.
More information will be released soon. -edit- tonights livestream is not bout sPvP. I heard someone talking bout it, and when i saw the announcement I just assumed it was bout pvp and didn’t read carefully. bad me-

Hi,
You are not the only one. This subforum is however the wrong place. This is for account issues. so e.g. a lost password, or trouble buying gems. It’s also for discussing these thing. To get those things resolved most of the times people need to make a support ticket.
You have a technical problem. This is allready a hot topic in the technical support sub forum. You are not the only one. Arenanet is aware of this issue and is doing whatever they can to resolve this.
Ohter sources then Arenanet report that the main cause is a so called denial of service attack against the datacenter where anet’s servers are. The reports indicate that also other games as e.g. WoW are currently effected.
The criminals behind this are commonly known as hackers, but in my opinion that is way too much honour for them, so I call them scriptkiddy’s.
Unfortunally against these kind of attacks is not much company’s can do.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Looking over that list makes me think they need to drop from more places.
Guild challenge can only be done once a week. And the WvW drops are only from taking Stonemist Castle or a Keep. The LS and low lvl meta events drop 1-5.
So doing high lvl orr meta events is the only real source, which get’s boring.
Believe me, if you take the time to do world events (using a timer) for just 2 hours, you will get more dragonite ore then any the amount of bloodstone dust you get from doing 2 hours of champtrain in FS or the amount of Fragments you get when doing 2 hours of dungeons. It’s clear that you don’t like doing world events (judging o nthe amount you got) but some others don’t like champtrains or don’t like dungeons. The purpose for ascended armor is that you need to do all (PvE) elements of the game.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I think it is Ascalonian Catacombs
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Short answer: No
The linked post is made shortly after a revamp of all legendary weapons. Arenanet admitted by that they wheren’t sattisfied with how they looked, but they are sattisfied now. also any change on the look of existing legendary’s will mean that some people will like it and some people won’t like it.
Take for example the flamkissed. I personally never was a fan of human t3 armor but I love the renewed look. Others are angry cause Anet changed it.
the same will happen with this proposed change. People decided to get it (or are in an irreversable proces of getting it) based on how it looks in the current game. any change will make some (or even a lot) of those people unhappy. Given the amount of effort needed to craft it, it is not worth it to make changes.
So, If a new legendary’s are introduced and there will be again a tier2 legendary greatsword this look might have a chance, but in any other situation it will not happen.

Ascended armor is totally optional. The amount of extra armor/stats is very minimal and tbh, if you need that minimal change to be a good player, you are doing something wrong. So it is a convinience and also a golddrain.

The rune of vamperism doesnt have a cooldown at all. It triggers after using your healing (skill 6), the healingskill itself offcourse has a cooldown.

Actually, they are not attacking any games, but a supplier of serverscapacity (clouded services). It happens to be the best and most stable supplier for games (or I deduct that cause so many games use that supplier).
But what the attack is actually against is unknown. Might as well be a totally different customer of this supplier.

I know there are a lot of usefull websites for craftingout there. But my question is, are there any sites that let you calculate how much items you can create out of the stacks you have.
What I mean (in my situation) is that I have a lot of mithril, elder wood and t5 mats. So I’m planning on making a lot of rare GS’s (l80) for the forge (to get precursor, I hope).
But I would like to know, how many Greatswords I can make with my stacks, and more important, how much mitril plated dowels, hilts and blades I must make to have the optimum amount.
Does such a website exist?? have looked, but didn’t find one myself.

Wow what a bad post. None of this is true.
- Game launched with Guild vs Guild battles and was named “Guild Wars”… despite what gets repeated ad nauseum on these pve forums, GW1 was advertised as a game focused on pvp and that’s why it had the name it did.
- The entire paragraph about “guildsecrets” is totally incorrect and misguided. The GvG ladder is active to this day (with more people than current gw2 spvp maybe even) and as the other poster said all top GvG matches are on public observe for all to see.
First of all, thanks for proving how bad the internet can be by your personal attack. Your a shining example how not to discuss things in a civil and mature way.
But from the Wiki:
‘The name of the series comes from the Guild Wars, a series of conflicts between Tyrian guilds which led to decline of humanity and allowing the charr to invade and eventually retake Ascalon, and other events of the first series of the games.’
If you would have been a bit more mature I would even looked up one of the many quotes off Arenanet officials confirming this fact.

Aa I understand it, it will be still possible to do map completion in LA, though it will be more difficult. I was wondering if the reward for completing the map in LA will change?
This is currently unknown. It depends a lot I guess what will happen after the living story with the area. If,like many are suggesting/thinking a new time will be build there, the increase in difficulty will be temporary andI don’t expect the rewards to be changed. If this is not the case and it remains difficult and a fighting map, then the map completion rewards should be increased.

Home world change – ANet refuses to resolve
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
Few days back I’ve noticed a strange thing – I’ve been playing on Fissure of Woe home world since the day 1 but now it said that my home world is Fort Ranik instead.
I’ve never purchased any gems so I couldn’t switch servers by accident, so I reported this issue to ANet support team.
Feb 12 10:35I started playing on Fissure of Woe in 2012 and created all my characters there. I am pretty sure FoW was still my home server when I logged in last week. Today I checked and it says that my home server is Fort Ranik.
I’ve never purchased any gems so I could not made the transfer myself, and IP adresses in Authorized Networks look OK to me. Is my account compromised or is it some kind of error on your side?
I’d very much like to return to my original server since my friends play there.
Thanks…
Two days in, I got a reply.
Hello Stanislav,
Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.
I understand how you might feel but unfortunately your account is not eligible for support assistance in transferring between game worlds. If you would like to change game worlds, please use gems to do so.
I am sorry that we could not fulfill you request in this situation, but please let us know if you have any other questions we can address.
Regards,
GM Wicho
WTF?
I’m sure they can see my gems purchase history or the history of my home world transfers, so why are they forcing me to pay them real world money just to solve what appears to be their bug?
What should I do now? I am not from the US so legal action against ANet just don’t seem right =D
First of all, I would recommend you remove the threat with legal actions.
Legally, the statusb is that you agreed with the terms of service, and in there it is clearly stated that Arenanet is allowed to place you on another server whenever they want to.
It is a matter of trust that they don’t do this at random or without any good reason.
The result off threatening with legal actions is that every answer you get will be authorized by the legal department and strictly following that what Arenanet needs to do and not an inch more. Cause that is nothing the result will be that they won’t change anything.
(on a side note, it doesn’t matter a lot if you are a us citizen or not, you can take legalactions if you want to. All you need to do is hire a laywer in the same state as Arenanet and they can take the legal actions for you, you don’t have to be a us-citizen to do so).
So I strongly suggest you remove that threat. While you are at it, I would also recommend you add your ticket number to your post. I’m pretty sure that a certain arenanet official is very happy to review the situation for you and see what is really going on. but she will need your ticketnumber.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The lag is cause by server problems, and Arenanet is aware of that. Unfortunally, Arenanet doesnt own their own servers (almost no company still does that). They hire them from bigger company’s. The big advantage is that you can buy more capacity very quick and easy, and can ditch thatcapacity with the same push of a button.
The company they use to hire the servers from is a big player in that market, and is currently being hit by what media are calling the biggest DDoS attack ever (Always wonder how they measure that, but lets agree it is a big one )
So yes, they are aware of it but can’t do a lot bout it cause it is a third party that have to solve this.

The floating city south of Garenhoff...
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
The hub replacing Lion’s Arch after its destruction is the Vigil Keep.
I do agree with you that the flying castle in Kessex should have something done with it; I wish it could have its own living story release.
I strongly dissagree with that. Don’t get me wrong. I know the feeling and understand why many people would like to see that.. But let me tell you a lil bit off history.
This structure is tied very deep within GuildWars and even Arenanet development. In GW1 there where quests. In the dat-file they where numbered. The quest with number 1, and asumed to be the first one created, or atelast the first one to make it to the game, is the Villainy of Galrath. This quest brought players to a boss, that was trying to get into this city to unravel the mystery’s locked inside.
The tower had likely some more purposes then just being there, but for reasons unknown to us, they have never been put into the game. So this tower has a lot of history and even sentiments.
The more important reason to be against a living story arc is that the reason it appeals to so many people is not just cause it is floating (so is Rata Sum, big deal!!), but cause it is a mystery. A living story would break that mystery and make it just another floating rock. So I’m for keeping this one a mystery forever

Why do people think LA will be rebuilt?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
To the OP,
I fail to grasp where a rebuilt Lion’s Arch will not define the purpose of a living story. The destruction of Lion’s Arch will have big and permanent changes to the world, but that doesn’t mean that Lion’s arch can’t be rebuild. Hopefully in a totally new fashion, but there are more then enough options to build a new lion’s arch where the old one was, on top of the ruins.
It also makes sense. The location has always been the main trading hub for Tyria. People know where it is and find it therefor with ease.
Off course I do expect that the landscape has unndergone some big changes and that it will look totally different. Just as current day lions arch looks very different from how it looked 250 years ago.
Real life city’s proven many times that destroyed city’s are being rebuild in the same place.
London got rebuild in the same spot after the great fire of 1666
Hiroshima and Nagasaki got rebuild after being nuked
All the european city’s both on allied side as on german side that got destroyed in wwII got rebuild on the same spot
etc, etc.
In modern history, only one city didn’t get rebuild on the same location as the old and that is Pripjat (more commonly know by the name of the nucleair facillity Tjernobyl).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The repair might work. I’d try that in case somethen went a lil off. I mean, it could be worse…
Great image. Wanna bet that Scarlet clicks ‘continue’!!
To the OP. Knowing a bit bout how uninstallers work and bout computer software. I don’t think that uninstalling GW2 came from a bug in the program itself. It is likely an anomoly in windows (in combination with a different program like indeed a AV/firewall program).
Cause, I have to admit that I’m kinda addicted to this game, I make a backup off my gw2 folder once every 3 months. This way I don’t have to re-download a lot.

I don’t know if this is exactly hidden and its just a single event. But there’s a Lagos Assassin that appears and attacks you in Frostgorge Sound. I have no clue what triggers it/what the timer on the event is, but it’s underwater and triggered for me bit north west of the jp at random times when swimming through. Roughly in between the Slough of Despond Waypoint and Ice Floe Waypoint.
Thanks to the train passing it by many times, I don’t think it is really hidden and its not really special. It spawns about every 3-4 passings of the train.
OP: it isn’t really hidden, although I had to be pointed to it, but have you ever been to the graveyard in the village of Shaemoor (Queensdale) by night. There is a really dense fog there then and one graveyard has a woman kneeling before it. When getting close she shows an eventmarker above her head to start it off. She asks you to escort her off the graveyard. What happens if you do??….well, don’t wanna spoil the surprise

Anet wants me to change my toons name....
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
From the naming policy:
’
We do not permit names that reference sexual acts or real life violence
’
So your question ‘Shouldn’t we be adults here?’ is clearly allready answered in the terms of service you have agreed to follow.
Also the game is rated for 12 years and older.
More important. The reason that it took some time before they took action is that Anet only takes action if someone reports you. No, don’t blame this on the person who reported you. It is Anet judging (atleast so far) that the name is appropiate, not the person that reported you. But reality is that:
Someone was offended enough by the name to report you
So do you really want to continue using this name?
Also the fact that it got reported atleast once and that the name is…as yourself prolly agree…edgy, means that support likely gets more complaints in the future and take the time to evaluate you. Do you think that it is worth that, so you can have your fun?
Don’t worry. I’m not judging you or having any personal judgement.t But I wanted to highlight some other sides to this story. The suggestion forum is archived.
The reason is that Anet feels that it is better to give suggestions more attention and feedback from the players base. If you have a suggestion make a post in the appropiate sub-forum. (if bout pvp, the pvp forum, if bout wvw, the wvw-forum, if bout trading/gemstore, the trading forum, or if general, the gw2 discussion).
It is good custom to start your post-title with ‘Suggestion:’

All right, deep breath there! First, are you elementalist or mesmer? Those are very different professions. Second, are you on EU or NA? The two regions can’t play with each other.
Third, if by quests you mean the Personal Story, that can wait a bit while you do other things in the game. Some people never do it, or wait until they’re 80 so they can do it in an uninterrupted story flow. If you mean the hearts, some of them can be managed far below level and some are tougher. If you mean the dynamic events, just go back to a lower level part of the zone. Or even move to another race’s starting zone. You’ll be downleveled so you aren’t one-shotting everything, but it’ll still be easier.
Whoops, got called to a dungeon. I hope what I said so far helps.
I am a elementalist, how do people reach 80 and then do quests? i am NA, id just like someone to tag along and do the same quests with me its really boring questing alone
I’m in EU so can’t keep you company.
But to help you on the way. in this game you have a lot offreedom and many ways that make you level up. Actually, almost every thing you do in the game gives you experience just an incomplete list:
personal story
dungeons
killing foes
doing daily achievements
doing events
doing renown hearts
finding waypoints
finding poi’s
doing skillpoints
discovering new area’s
gathering crafting materials
crafting itself
So you got a lot of freedom. but you need to do more then one thing to level. Cause events dont always spawn, and cause crafting and gather materials can be expensive, you mght want to consider to change map.
You are doing level 21 hearts and stuff right?? so you are likely in a level 15-25 map. and I guess you went there after you did your first level 0-15 map??
There are 5 different 0-15 maps and 4 different 15-25 maps.
So my advise is to get some level by going to another starter map.
1: go to your home town
2: go to Lion’s arch
3: go to any other home town
4: exit to another starter map and do things there. when you have matched the difference you can return where you are
(note, the above steps are actual till this tuesday. after that Lion’s arch is getting some trouble and the travel hub is going to replaced, cause the details are a bit fuzzy still, just ask again then if you need new instructions)

To actually answer the main question, yes you can level up in sPvP; however it is slightly different in that you “buy” your level. When you play a match in sPvP you gain glory for winning or losing. This is considered PvP currency as you use it to purchase from Glory Vendors in the Heart of the Mists. At one of the glory vendors you can buy a tome of knowledge for 1,500 glory and 20 silver. A tome of knowledge grants your character 1 level up. For losing a match in sPvP you get ~125 glory average (sometimes less, sometimes more); for winning you get ~200 glory average. Each match takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes. At 1500 Glory a piece it will take roughly 8-12 matches to “gain a level”. So worst case on average would be you lose 12 matches that last 12 minutes each. That is about 2 Hrs 24 minutes of nonstop sPvP matches for 1 level. This may seem slow, but remember that it is A) worst case as you are likely to win as well and
you are gaining PvP rank points that apply to your account. So really in doing this you can kill 2 birds with one stone. So yes, you can level your character strictly though PvP at the rate of ~1-2.5 Hrs/Lvl.
~Cheers
This!!
To add on, there are plans on ditching the glory in pvp, when or what then is unknown.

He is a Djinn:‘Djinn are relentless when defending the items, places, and causes they protect, but they may also bestow their favor on people who aid them in those tasks.’
(from the wiki).
Goodluck on Scarlet in trying to destroy him and why would she bother trying? So it can very well be that the vigil keep just have a conduit.
