No you can’t see anymore reason then allready given (modifying or tampering with the game client). The first reason is that Anet doesn’t have to share it. They can close accounts whenever they feel it is appropiate (it is a matter of trust they don’t do it without good reasons). The second is that to protect the game and the community from the badguys they have secret detection methods. They want them to remain secret.

For example, you are a bad person and made 10 illegal modifications to the gameclient. If Anet tells your they detected 3 modifications, this bad person would know the other 7 are currently undetectable.

Given your story I’m certain you didn’t did this yourself but a hacker. When anet handled your ticket I’m pretty positive everything will be allright.

To those saying it is only one waypoint/loadingscreen, imagine this.
I’m trying to get the legendary greatsword eternity. This means I need dusk and dawn. To do so im gathering a lot of mithril, elder wood and t5 mats. When i got enough I craft enough for bout 250 rare greatswords. Obviously, this doesnt fit in my inventory. So I craft the basic parts (blade/hilt/dowel) cause they are stackable and I make the first 50, run to the forge, forge them all, put the exotics I got in my private guildbank, and repeat. This means I need to keep changing from a town with the craftingstations to a town with the forge. This is not progress and not just one loadingscreen.

the age of a pc doesn’t matter to how secure it is. Besides access to your account, an account hacker also needs to have access to your email. Often this is done through a keylogger (a program that registers everything you type and sents a copy to the hacker).

You should review your computers security.
1: check for malware and virusses, specially keyloggers. Use a free tool, other then your regular virusscanner (e.g. if you use norton, use a tool from mccaffee).
2: change the password to your emailaccount associated with your gw2 account. Make sure the password is different (and not even alike) from your GW2 password.

Thats all you can do while waiting for support.

I spoke to our guild mate. He mentioned that he closed ticket #: 358835 with the “Resolved” tag as a means to open up another ticket. In a sense, the issue was not resolved. I believe that was a mistake / misunderstanding.

He is still banned from the game and still does not have access to the forums, thus why I’m mediating once again.

Would he need to submit another ticket? I believe at this point he would just like some contact from the support team as to why the ban on the account happened in the first place. I understand the burden of proof is on the user, but that’s extremely difficult considering there was no warning before the termination. Not to mention that access to the game & forums are both disabled, thus the accused have to rely on other users to relay information.

On Tuesday Feb 11 I tried to log into the game and was notifed my account was terminated with an error code 45:6:3:2205. I am very upset as I have NEVER done anything that has been listed here. If my account was hacked . . . then something else needs to be done. I am now unable to get to the forums to post any security messages and had to cancell my first TICKET due to this reason. This should be moved to the More than 3 days old category. I made multiple posts giving additional information and asked for a status and received nothing in return. The original ticket is “352417:Terminated Account???”. I have friends that can vouch for me . . . and do want to rejoin them in this game. Please do something!!!!!

Never submit duplicate tickets, you can see here what is happening if you do.

Ask your guildy to update the first ticket he made to tell them this one is still not resolved and when done post that ticketnumber here. All later tickets should be closed.

The only time before that we encountered Miasma was in the Zen Dajun mission and it was designed to spread Shiro’s corruption.

So wanted to make some facts bout this.
First off all, the english meaning. This is actually just that it is rotting gaz, mostly breathed by others and contagious.

We only visit lion’s arch for an 1 hour time frame. We know the miasma is building, but we are ordered out after the hour (or killed and transported out. So on us players it has the same effect as in GW1 (breathe too much too long you get killed). What the effect will be on the NPC’s is unknown.

So what if the thing that Ceara saw in her vision is Shiro and that he is in control of her???

just a small workaround to get out off this without waypointing.
1: use the portal to fort trinity
2: use the portal to another order (durmand priory is easiest)
3: leave the restricted area there and use the balloon to get to vigil keep again.

Still only a workaround, but it gets you out of trouble free

You don’t have to go to Gendarran Fields either, you can go to any capitol city. They all have banks. But if you can’t leave LA, then yeah you’re kittened.

Seeing now I can only goto Heart of the Mists and WvW maps.
My only hope is that we can hold Anvil Rock Valley in EB long enough for full vendor upgrade just to run to the bank.

This post makes no sense if you go to your home WvW map (in my case FA borderlands) and go through the portal marked for Lions Arch it automatically redirects you to the new Asura gate that was built in the new base, the bank is located in the nearby keep.

The problem is that the first time a level 30+ character enters the game he/she will be in a cutscene in lions arch showing what happened. Only after that you can go to the new spot. This is a one time thing to do, but if it makes your computer freeze you have an issue.

Each crafting station is also giving access to the bank. interact with it, and go to the bottom two tabs (one is the bank, and the other the materials tab).

Also if your character can’t leave/survive lions arch due to technical issues and you cant get to gendarran fields on your own, I would suggest to write support.

They can manually move your character there. The purpose is that you see what happened to lion’s arch and then can portal out to the new central hub.

Once you have been there once, going to the heart of the mist and leaving to ’lion’s arch’ will bring you to the new central hub in gendarran fields.

First off all,
Mark is right. This is in my opinion a minor thing cause from the central hub you can easily travel to any of the city’s to craft (and visit a laurel vendor).

However. it is a tiny little small move to p2w and given his confusion at the start it seems that this has not fully thought out and discussed out in Anet’s HQ. So although those things are not commented on while on the tafel, I do hope that Mark or anyone else has rattled this discussion up at Anet.

Maybe to help with that internal discussion. The airship has a loadingscreen to enter. So maybe compromise and put the crafting stations at the other two refugee camps in lortnarpass and bloodtide coast. The airship will bring people there with as well one loading screen and the problem is solved imo.

And for ascended droprate. RNG is RNG and have been part of this (and any game) forever. if the drop change is 1/1000 with 0 magic find, the droprate would be now 2.4/1000, so it is still a lotttery.

If you want ascended gear you need to craft it. Keep in mind the bonus is very very slight and it really is only needed in FotM

The first reason is cause it is prolly impossible.
First off all, cause there was a requirement before the level system and the AP-chests that was working correctly (you needed to do WvW significantly to get badges). also recently we had a period that it was working as intended. For each legendary in the game they have to find out in what timeframe the gift of battle (not the legendary) was acquired.

The second reason is that a legendary can be sold on the TP. People who bought one can in no way know when the gift of battle was bought by the creator and it would mean they bought a disfunctional weapon

The third reason is that Anet never should do such a thing to any gear.

I’m perfectly ok for them to change the rules, but after good communication and announcement here, and on guildwars2.com.

In mainland eaurope it is now 11 pm in the evening. Many people gathered for the new patch. Many people who have been gone for a long time have been waiting for this new patch.

You have hyped it up to the max, but for us (in our timeframe) you are not delivering.

I udnerstand why you can’t give a good estimate time about an update. But promising to blow up LA on the 18th means on the 18th and not on the 19th. you had a great change to get old players back but you blew it.

I know that asking for a response isn’t ok. But I do want express my hope that a dev is going to react. You have missed a big boat tonight, and my love for your game makes me sad.

No problems here. There have been many reports with lag and some with a sutuation like yours. The official statement is that they are working on a solution. Some tech-players have pointed out that the supplier off the serverpark that Anet is using is udner attack of a ddos attack. Those people say that also other games as WoW are affected by this.

I am honest, I got 9 characters, one is a trash/experiment slot, 8 are the different classes, all are level 80 but my warrior wich is in the process to level (kept him till last for personal reasons). I just unlocked rampage and I got it equipped right now. I do think that I am more effective, even compared to the alternative skills, but it is just slightly and the skills are a bit annoying and don’t fit my build and traits. I don’t think it is useless, but it is less used indeed.

Avatar melandru is indeed useless for a warrior. I never tried it seriously myself, but I am thinking bout trying it in a few situations. It has some potential for more prot-orientated characters.

hmmmmm, not a good idea imo. though with some alterations my issues can be removed.

The first issue is fort trinity. The nearby cave has a lot of ranger pets that should not be unlockable that early.

The second is that even if you are in an area where you are underlevel, you often can get a few poi’s and vista’s and even communepoints around each waypoint.

The third is world boss leeching. you waypoint, you put a few hits in, get killed and wait for the chest.

So I’m ok, but only if all waypoints get a level requirement. using this item will unlock them , but if above your current level they remain locked for you untill you met the level requirement or when you discover them the regular (wichever comes first)

The foundry is part of the domain of anguish. To get to the gate of anguish (the first time) you need to kneel before the statue of Kormir, the godess of knowledge etc.

So when the door of Komalie opened, Abaddon was still alive, but when we actually visted the place and killed the fury, abadon was allready defeated.

So you can asume that it was not destroyed

Indeed, the amount of dialogue isn’t too huge, and ctrl + F should help finding all the relevant dialogues quick.

It would be more interesting to see what all the lionguards around the world are going to do. Are they all being recalled?? with only essential personal in the forts?? or are they going to keep protecting traderoutes to something else then Lion’s Arch. The main task of the lionguard is to defend the city and the people in it.

No, I never experienced this and password do not change at random. First off all, it might be that your caps where on (I know nobody is that stupid, but somehow it happens ).

If thats not the case you can still be hacked. The purpose of hackers is to misuse other peoples accounts to do bad things. So it does happen that they hack you, but don’t act for a long time.

If you go on this page to ‘my account’ and then security, you can see your authorized networks. Pls check if there isn’t anything fishy in there. If it isn’t you prolly are fine. if it is you got hacked and I advise you to check your computer on virusses, and specially keyloggers. change also your email-password (make sure it is different from your gw2 password) and your safe again.

Hi IC, I disagree on this advice.
Support tasked themself with a timeframe of 72 hours and customers who have issues with waiting to long are imo entitled to hold them to that whatever happens.

I symphatize with support and as stated elsewhere I have been in that position. But the current situation is an incident and doesn’t mean the policy is changed. The name of the sticky is still containing the wording ‘3 days’ so after 72 hour is the moment to put your ticketnumber there if you feel you have waited long enough.

My primary goal here is to help my fellow players with account issues. if that means that I can help support by getting them to post their ticketnumber cause they missed it, or by explaining what they can expect from support , well im welcome to help them. but just cause they get busy I don’t think it is helpfull for the players to lenghten the answering window to 5 days. I’m pretty sure that if this means that the sticky gets an increase of tickets that are overdue, that the support liason is capable enough to wait 2 days for herself and then check the tickets if they are still not resolved.

If she wants to change the max response time to 5 days, then the sticky name should be changed..

I know support currently have some delay’s on solving tickets, but they tasked themselves with answering within 72 hours, so asking for help when that has passed is more then appropiate.

He can play the game as usual. all that is happen is that he will be restored to his situation prior to the hack. so even if he, for any change got all the items needed to get a legendary except the precursor. and he got lucky and got the precursor out of the forge, and created the legendary, he would loose the legendary, but get the other gifts back.

Anything he does in this timeframe is going to be lost, but how much can you get done?? playing this game is fun right??!!

anet, please help in getting the best social fundraising event in game up to speed. make it possible that next october, people can donate money through the gemstore to compensate for this loss. It might be called pink day in vigil keep, but we could really use this support.

The proposal is easy. You offer an item in the gemstore (a special pinkday in….. baseball cap) that people can buy with gems. the difference is that you can only buy one, but you decide how many gems you spent (minimum is 800 gems). All the gems spent for this goes to breastcancer research!!

Pink day without LA is only doable if it is compensated so future pinkdays will be better then ever!!

The basic math is that you have a 0.78% change of getting a precursor if you put in 4 exotics (level 76 or above). this doesn’t mean that if you throw in 512 exotics you are garanteed to get a precursor, it is a change, so it can be 4 exotics and it can be a million, it all depends on your luck.

Looking at Greatswords (my target) I have seen that it is actually a lil bit better to gamble with rares you craft. The cost per rare is pretty low compared to the price on the TP. when throwing in 4 rares you have a 20% change of getting upgraded to exotic. But also an 80% change of getting a rare back.

This means that every 16 rares will result in one exotic (on average), unless you are unlucky, but then you get another shot cause you got 4 rares again.

Now why is this important??
if there is a 20% change on getting an exotic, there is a 0.15% change for that exotic being a legendary. (and if not you can use that exotic again to have another shot at it)

This means that out of 68 rares you got a 0.93% change that you end up with an exotic

Keep in mind that this is all based on chances. The actual result can and will vary a lot. will lady fortuna smile on you?? I cannot tell.

I disagree on the Royal Terrace Pass or atleast I would wait till the update is there before you start a 2 week one. The vigil keep is much smaller then LA and I bet, that it is bout as close together as in the royal terrace. (and vigil keep will just be as laggy as LA always was.

While we are on the subject of ESO and while the NDA indeed seems to be lifted.
Yes the fighting is revolutionary. the system how skills evolve too. But guess what, after 2 weeks you are used to it and it is as boring as any game. on top of that, you evolved your build to perfection and your back to the good old rotation. So while it is something other games can learn by, it’s not going to keep me going.

As for the rest. The game is very linear. old elder scroll games had the marvel that you could easily encounter new things and discovery was a vast part. this is just closed maps, with set borders, and everything is easy to find and hard to miss a single quest. Yes they have been promising to release new content every few weeks, but looking at the amount of maps and the size as the game is now, it is all very limited.

Graphical it looks good, but you have to like the style (same goes for GW2 offcourse)

I udnerstand that some people want to have a change of scenery and thats good, but ESO is not near to compete with GW2

All services currently in lions arch will be moved to the vigil keep. This seems to be a temporary solution. what the long term solution (if any) is going to be is unknown, but all asura portals, laurel merchant, bank, TP, crafting stations, portals to wvw/the mist, etc will be at the vigil keep

If I understand you correctly the following is your issue.
You bought GW2 for your friend. Your friend made an account, but used a wrong/not functional emailadress. You (tried) to contact support but so far with limited success.

Assuming I am.
It is your friend that needs to contact support and not you. Your role is only to support your friend in this. It is important cause it is an issue bout having access to an account, and your friend is the owner of the account.

There are two ways to contact support. The first is by clicking the ‘submit a ticket’ button on top of the support page (you can find a link to it at the top of this page). This is the most prefered way cause she will be represented with the right questions allready. There is no need to log in whatsover.

The second way is by sending an email to support@guildwars2.com

In both situations she will recieve a ticketnumber. that is the confirmation that the ticket has been made and is taken care off.

If you didn’t get a reply within 72 hours (3 days) after recieving your ticketnumber, then something went wrong. In that case you can put her ticket up for review by posting that ticketnumber in the sticky topic in this forum (tickets for review).

[suggestion] – This thread is starting to load slow. I think it has to do with the large amount of posts in it. Perhaps it is an idea to close and unsticky this one and make a new and fresh one??

I think that ESO is gonna be a big hyped bubble.
At my last job (currently inbetween jobs) I had some collegues that where very active RPG-players. but they always hopped from game to game. At the beginning the game was heaven and all and they didn’t see anything good, and after a few months it was total crap

For example, when I first started there they where all into skyrim. Soon after they all went to SWtor. After that it was GW2, and for now all I know is that they all have moved on again.

ESO will be no different. But I think the game will lure maybe max 10% off the current GW2 community, and half of them will be back in 1 month cause it really lacks content and depth. But for now it is an hype.

Actually, as far as I know, during the CDI a few months ago, Anet heard our call for more permanent content really really loud. There is only confusion to the marionette, but I believe it will be permanent content.

The updates notes are simply calling it a new world event. People deduct that it is temporary from the fact that the wurm got his own set of permanent achievements, while the marionette’s ones are listed under living world (among some others things to do for it).

I don’t know, but I think the marionette is here to stay.
