Looking at GW1 and almost all games I’ve played, an expansion will give an advantage in new skills and ability’s you unlock if you own it.
In Gw1, you did have a skill unlock pack for each campaign, for those who where not interested in the content, but only in pvp-formats (you even have a pvp access kit, giving you only access to the pvp-parts of that game).
There is however nothing pay to win bout this, unless you want to call monthly subs pay to win as well (cause let’s face it, without paying those monthly subs, you can#t play, so you can’t win either).
The game is buy to play. This means that if you don’t buy the game, and don’t expand it, you will slack behind. Try beating GW1 prophecy’s without owning any of the other campaigns!

removed earlier quote…..
Personally I would put pre-order launch on top. It would qualify more as something big. The releasedate for GW2 was announced two months before the actual release. the pre-order started another 2 months before that. So if they open pre-order now, (on their own website, officially) it is on schedule for a release in the autumn.
I agree this would be big, but why would they devote an entire Ready-Up episode to the release and pre-order info? Ready-Up is all about gameplay, so that is why I don’t think they’ll devote it to this info. Perhaps a mention after a website blog post, but not the entire episode.
With the opening of the pre-order they would also need a new teaser trailer, that goes more in depth into the specifications (specialisation, mastery tracks, subzones, etc). It would also be good to go over all info again we know now, cause it is an extra boost to buy. So opening the pre-order, showing the new trailer and going through everything we know so far would fill a show nicely. I haven’t heard we are actually getting a ready up. We only know they are doing something big. So it might as well be another PoI, or a “Ready of interests” with both hosts)

My guesses in order of likelihood (according to my opinion of course):
1) Guild Halls – if Rubi didn’t overhype (like she tends to do) this is the big exciting thing as it has been requested before the original release and is the most talked about feature in the forums from the beginning days.
2) Revenant full reveal – they only gave us a partial reveal originally and said they would revisit again later because it was “no fun to give everything away at once.” They have to give a better reveal before the end of spec reveals in order to give the spec for Revenant (especially what the baseline weapons officially will be).
3) Beta date set – because yeah…they just gave those portals.
4) Legendary preview
5) “Challenging content” – they were very mysterious on what this would be (I think intentionally) so perhaps a reveal of some of this perhaps.
Personally I would put pre-order launch on top. It would qualify more as something big. The releasedate for GW2 was announced two months before the actual release. the pre-order started another 2 months before that. what windows version are you using??
It is important to distinguish the difference between hardwarefailure (a real reboot most commonly caused by overheating or voltage issues) and a BSOD-automated reboot.
In most windows versions you can change the default setting to not automaticly reboot on BSOD.
Right click “my computer”
Click “properties”
Click on “advanced system settings” (left column)
Go to the tab “advanced” and click the third “settings” button (the one under “startup and recovery”)
Uncheck “automatilcy restart”
Now wait for the issues to arise.
If using windows 8 or newer you get a screen telling you (with a bad smiley) that your pc experienced an error. In older version you will get the infamous blue screen of death. Both can only resolved in pushing the power off button.
Is this the case then I recommend noting the error codes (can also be found in computer management under the logfiles) and searching them for possible causes. It can still be faulty hardware, but nothing like a voltage issue or a temperature issue.
If you still go straight to reboot, then it is very likely voltage or overheating. Make sure you check your critical equipment (GPU and CPU) by pressing your hand at the back of the pc where they are located (in case of a tower, this is the right side of the pc). If it is hot (not warm, but hot! a cat shouldn not find it comfortable) then you have an overheating issue. If it is warm or even cool then it is a voltage issue. In that case I give you a 90% chance that a new PSU will resolve the issue.

Guild Wars 2 HoT Release Date? [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
looking at past experiences (e.g. GW2 release) there are a million ghosts stories and urban myths before the actual release date but…
Arenanet will make the announcement
They will do it for all at the same moment and time
Resellers will NOT get info before hand.

Anet: HoT is your shot to be the best!
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

delay it even !
HoT is already 1.5 year late.
This is an age old discussion. Looking at proper open world MMO’s, the fast pace released expansions turned out to be extremely buggy.
Also keep in mind that living world season 1 was a mistake. A lot of dev time was invested in temporary content. They admitted it was a mistake, but nobody can turn back time and get that lost time back (not even the chronomancer).
Also, people complain a lot bout delays, but it seems to have very limited impact. We waited over 5 years for GW2 (counting from the date it was announced), still it was a huge success. Even delays doesnt bother for sales. I’m curently playing elder scrolls online to bridge time till HoT on the PC. with the upcoming console release there is a lot of hype going while it was postponed several times and should have been released over a year ago shortly after the PC-release. Still people hype up and get it.
At Halbarz:
One thing I always liked bout Arenanet is that they don’t care bout what looks good on the box or what people might be expecting. They do things in their own way. They don’t add e.g. dungeons cause thats what supposed to be in an MMO, but they add content that they think we are going to like. Looking at what they did with GW2 I have to say that they know what we like.
I’m not reading too much into HoT to prevent being spoiled, but what I’ve udnerstand is that part of it will be instances that tell the story (like the story journal in the current game). In the living story season 2 they allready added a challenge mode to those instances. By nodging this up a bit more, you actually get content very simular to dungeons, but different. Just an example using your example
My point is that I know they don’t do hasty releases but take all the time they need, but they don’t release things that look good on the box, but they release things that are great to play.

This Beta Portal is a freaking sham....
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
First of all, keep in mind that their are limited spots in the beta. So not everyone who wants to enter can. This means people will be dissapointed. But changing the system now, would also be unfair to people who got the drop. So I stick with some feedback to Arenanet bout how I would have handled this, and hopefully it is a good tip for the next beta.
What does Arenanet want? They want a limited amount of people in the beta and they want a selection of players who are actively playing GW2.
The issue with the current system is that the second part (requirement to be activly playing GW2) is easily proven (if you are an active player) but the amount of people who fit in it, are bigger then the first part (the amount of spots). So it is in my opinion unfait to let people grind for hours and hours for nothing.
My suggestion for the next time is:
1: Put it in as a garanteed drop for two occasions:
a: killing the vinewrath while having been in the map since the end of the time out in the silverwastes.
b: Defeat Queen Chrii’kkt IV while having been in the map since the end of the last sandstorm (I would prefer the legendary sandgiant, but the Queen has the advantage to require T4 favor, so actual cooperation in the entire hour instead of people just afk-ing till the sandgiant spawns).
2: The item does NOT garantee you access to the beta, but let you enter a raffle. Each account can only have one item (and so only one spot in the raffle). At the end of the timeframe, the lucky beta-players are drawn from the pool of people who entered the raffle.
This changes the system in such a way that your RNG-chance doesn’t increase with grind.

Thats windows 10 ye. And judging on the task view button design, it is the latest (fast circle) build, which is the crappiest so far (no offense to MS, it is a beta).
Also, the problem described is not persistent for all windows 10 users. I’m running the same build (if I am suspecting it right) with the same fullscreen mode and it is showing the small bar under the icon (indicating it is a running program).

Teofa, there is a lot of rubbish in this thread, but several people have allready showed, with links to the user agreement, that those people’s job is to kick/suspend others. They have those tools for a reason and they have been acting within the user agreement everyone agreed with, and are actually making sure people are acting within that user agreementr instead of outside. They aredoing their job and it is not their own personal definition. They are doing their job and personally I say they are doing an excellent job.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
This is an MMO and the rescue citizens content is a group-effort. So it is important to use mapchat to work together. This goes from simple things as coordinating (‘need more people in sector orange’) to explaining those things.
I actually love how this game is giving room to find out things on our own and share it amongst eachother.
On a side note, I do think that the NPC’s should be smarter. Please tell the ones in the former TP that there is a whispers agent right next to.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
@kRiza,
If it is perfectly ok to go afk, why are people being kicked for afk at all then??
Exactly what we were asking. From the map chats I’ve observed throughout several LA events today, seems like people aren’t getting kicked anymore.
Again, kicked is no punishment, and afk-ers in LA should be kicked cause it is a sick and very bad action.
Kick: being removed from the game due to inactivity
Suspension: being unable to log in for a period of time cause of unwanted behaviour.
Cause the motivs behind afking in LA isn’t clear people are being kicked.

all the story achievements are hidden achievements, there are also some other hidden achievements. According to the wiki there are 29 acheivements in Hero, so it seems you got them all now.
At the start of the game there where more hidden achievements but slowly most of them have been replaced by open ones.

King Doric, Bloodstones and Dragons
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
Actually, the Shining Blade are the protectors of Kryta’s royal family, not the Lionguard. The Lionguard are primarily focused on the city of Lion’s Arch and it’s interests, which are far beyond human interests and the human queen, Jenna, of Kryta. Lion’s Arch may be situated in Kryta, but it does not fall under Krytan jurisdiction.
Allthough I still believe the presented theory is rubbish, you are also wrong.
Lion’s arch, before the timeframe off GW1 was the captial of Tyria and the lionguard was the royal guard protecting the krytan royal familly.
When the charr attacked Kryta, the Krytan king fled and abbanded the city. Saul D’Alessio Defeated the charr with the help off the Mursaat (though that detail wasn’t public info) and took control over Lion’s Arch. The Lionguard then decided to drop their responsabillity as the royal guard (having no King to defend) but stay to guard the town of Lion’s Arch.
When the white mantle turned out not to be such a nice bunch of guys that people at first thought, a group of rebels helped a decended of the krytan Crown (Salma). This group of rebels was called the shining blade. After they where succesfull they became the new royal guard.
When Lion’s arch was flooded, the queen fled to the north (utlimatly to Divinity’s Reach) and the lionguard, having failed to protect the city now as well stopped to exist.
Only when the pirates build a new lion’s Arch round the ruins off the old city, the lionguard was reinstated in their current role.

I wonder what the people who report afk choose as their reason for reporting? Botting? Inappropriate character name? Verbal abuse? Coz if you’re seriously reporting people for an offense that he didn’t do just because he’s afk then you’re misusing that button.
As stated many times by support. Not all offensive behaviour is covered by the category button’s. If the reason isn’t there, choose one that is closest to the situation. In this case botting would be closed.
And the person is AFK-ing so committing an offense. AFK-ing in LA with the soul pupose off getting a reward is an exploit. Exploiting isn’t allowed.

Hi,
First off all, I think your are pretty upset. It was very hard to read between the lines what the issue is. Many times this is due to being agnry (wich I can udnerstand, assuming that what you are saying is true).
I have never heard that someone is suspended permanently on a first offense when it comes to bad character naming. Many times they get a forced name change (and a suspension till you choose a new name) and in some extreme cases a suspension for 72 hours. Only repeating this many times would result in a perma-ban.
A refund is only given on request from the person who paid for it. As you said the creditcard gets permanently blocked.
I would suggest to keep a more open mind. I suspect that there is more going on under the water. Perhaps even things you both don’t know about. This can happen for example if someone has too many details bout you and is also making tickets.
Best thing to do:
1: close this thread (just delete your post here, the mods will complety remove it).
2: update the existing ticketnumber (this is always possible) with the ‘final’ grieves.
3: post the ticketnumber in the designated sticky: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-older-Part-2-merged with a request to review.

Fror,
There is a lot going to be implemented in the March 18th patch. How much however is unknown.
They never gave an answer wether expnasion type content would be released in a traditional retailer package, through gemstore unlocks or for free in the living story.
They will not tell you what to expect ahead of schedule. They decide to tell us when and what to tell us bout what future content.
As the 18th will not be a traditional expansion pack, I do not think that any info bout that patch will be given before the 11th (one week ahaead). And on top of that, they have been giving leeser and lesser info in the one week heads up announcement as well.
So wait and see!!
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The issue at hand here is though, that this is exactly what they are doing. They’re kicking and banning people for literal kittens and giggles and no other logical reason (definitely not any breach of EULA,) and so anet needs to be reprimanded for this. Perhaps not legally, but in terms of reputation etc.
Actually, as I’ve stated, AFKing the LA event can be seen as “exploit”, since you gain rewards without doing anything. If you don’t move for a long period of time, a GM kicks you from the map. If you repeat this behavior over and over, that led to a 72 hour suspension. These actions protect the economy of the game, and help to prevent unintended game play with in-place mechanics.
Anet should be applauded for their efforts in doing what’s best for this game.
By that logic any event in game can be seen as exploit since you gain rewards without doing anything. Scarlet evasion event? Yep. Did they show up to kick afk-ers then? No?
Do they show up on every Claw of Jormag event to kick afk-ers that tag dragon and sit at tents for 20 mins? No?
Also, if person loged back in after kick it means he’s not afk does it? He’s there obviously. Perhaps said player just wants to enjoy panorama of burning city, are you saying that its not allowed? Is new Anet policy: “You will play to the music or kick”?
Again, the debate is over. Anet GMs did what they felt was necessary to protect the other players on the map. I fully support their decision.
Did they do same for every server, every map and overflow on EU and NA? Of course not, it would require army of devs. Maybe instead of praticing selective justice they should implement rewards system that won’t allow this kind of problems.
Making boring events with reward system full of holes is their stew, they should eat it way they made it. Saying: “We created this way it is, gladly took your money and now we will kitten you any way we like for using it way we created it” is really bad pratice…
First off all, the only events you can AFK are the wurm and tequatl. All the rest you need to have atleast a minimum effort of hitting once.
Secondly. Yes going afk with the purpose of getting a reward is an exploit. The issue is that it is much more pressing in LA then at e.g. Tequatl cause the event area was much smaller with almost no places to hide.
For the rest, it doesn’t matter wich servers tzhey kick people on or not. It doesn’t matter why they where there. The people that where kicked where AFK so deserved to be kicked, and if proven they did it on purpose or where circumventing afk-detection tools, they should be suspended. That is the rules of this game. Even IF they happened to be there for other reasons. If a police officer is checking if you drink and drive, and see that you have marihuana in your car, should he let you go cause he was there for something else or fine you anyways??
The thing is. AFK-ing in LA is wrong by definition, and if on purpose, ti is exploiting. If someone is breaking the rules of the game he is going to be punished.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
There aren’t any justification for being ,anually kicked from a map from them either aside from “being afk”. Why not set the internal auto kick sytem instead? A debate doesn’t end because someone just happened to grasp at straws. Oh wait, they do, not just in their favor.
The justification is that AFK players do the following:
1) Take away the experience of the event from other players
2) Take up precious player slots on each map
3) Do not contribute to the intended rescue mechanics of the event
4) Get max rewards without contribution
5) Can scale up Miasma events, resulting in high chances to failAgain, the debate is over. Anet GMs did what they felt was necessary to protect the other players on the map. I fully support their decision.
The problem lies with the fact that there were no proper communication towards their player base changing afk from being acceptable to being punishable. If you really are a lawyer, then you’ve probably heard of Unfair Contract Terms Act. And stop putting words where there aren’t any. The reason provided was a blanket statement regarding ALL AFKers which would apply to people wherever they are: whether they are in LA or in gendarran. If you have proof of the GM stating explicitly points 3, 4 and 5 in the screenies then please provide them.
Who is talking bout punishment??
It has always been the case that if you go AFK, after an amount of time you get kicked, that is not a punishment. The method of kicking shouldn’t matter at all.
And as said, the fact that you are definding going AFK in lions arch in order to get the reward means you are supporting exploiuters. In essence the people doing it on purpose (and screaming the loudest here) are exploiters. the only trouble is proof. thats why people trhat are afk are simply kicked. This to prevent that innocents get suspended for something others are misusing (and misusing is agianst the rules).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
So far, all the people here are agreeing they are STEALING rewards by MISUSING a feature for personal gain. by definition, that is an exploit. The mere excuse that you can also be AFK for legit reasons, doesn’t mean that purposly going afk to get the reward without effort is NOT an EXPLOIT.
The reason AFK-ers have an issue with this is cause they are missing the reward, so they agree that they go AFK to get the reward and agree that they are exploiting. I think there is good reason to keep this thread open. Easy to find the reall evil people right here.
Anet has the right to kick people that are AFK. The way that it is done doesn’t change a thing. If you want shiny’s don’t steal it like a skritt, but put bloody effort in it. Don’t be a leecher!!!

King Doric, Bloodstones and Dragons
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
I’m not sure but i can assume that King Doric is buried beneath LA and his blood is needed to unseal the magic of the Bloodstones. Scarlet sent her Twisted Marionette to southern Shiverpeaks and Maguuma Wastes isn’t unlocked as a zone. Most likely there is a Jungle Dragon in Maguuma Wastes, and she needs the power from a Bloodstone to defeat it and get the second Bloodstone in Maguuma Wastes.
Why would the ORRIAN King Doric be buried underneath Lion’s Arch.
Lion’s Arch and Kryta wheren’t even build back then The humans arrived to Tyria in ORR, and there is no indication that Doric ever left Orr himself. You have a very wild assumption and are trying to proof it right with no facts at all.

King Doric, Bloodstones and Dragons
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
The Lionguard have nothing to do with King Doriac. They where traditionally the protectors off the Krytan royal familly. while those are descendants of the Orrian king Doriac, the Orrian royal familly had their own organisation as protectors. (also the ascalonian royal familly is also a descendant of Doriac, so the would make the vanguard the same thing).
Secondly, there is no proof of a bloodstone under lion’s arch. It is even very unlikely.
We know the location off two bloodstones. One is under the southern shiverpeak mountains, the other in what is now called the maguuma waste. The one in the maguuma waste was used by the white mantle to sacrifice chosen ones on. Why would they bring the chosen ones all the way from kryta to maguuma, while they where in controll over lion’s arch and simply could have done it there??
Doesn’t make sense at all!

First off all,
Calling out Arenanet employees is against forum policy. So I do hope that everyone who considers that to be ok is going to enjoy their infractment. Please respect the forum rules as well as the game rules.
In the user agreement, all of you agreed with, you see that Arenanet and NCsoft have the full right to interupt service. This includes ‘kicking’ people. So stating it is a mus-use of powers is simply wrong!
The issue here is a moral issue and the arenanet employees acting on behalf of arenanet are in their full rights to do so.
1: The right to go AFK. Yes you have that right, but Arenanet has the right to kick you after a certain amount of in-activity. There is no need to give any reason. Demanding that it only is done by an automated system is actually ridicilious.
2: you actually do not have the right to cause distress. Many people here have stated they are offended by people going afk in LA and misusing this system to gai nunfair advantage. So this is causing distress.
So all in all, Arenanet has all the right to kick people. They have all the reason to do so and I’m very glad they are doing that!
The only reason that people here are getting upset is NOT that they where kicked for a simple toilet visit, but that they got kicked and missed the reward they did not own cause they went AFK.
If you want or need to go afk, do so, but if you get kicked for whatever reason, you miss the reward, but the moment you leave your keyboard you don’t have moral rights for that reward any longer.
This is not ment unrespectfull. We all happen to go AFK.
Don’t be upset you didn’t get a reward you didn’t deserve.
I use the 15 minute break (between LA-cycles) to go to the toilet, grab drinks and food and making sure I can play for another 45 minutes. If it happens that I need to go AFK and get kicked, well so be it.

Please understand that it is not possible to talk to a superior. An arenanet official will review the case. This review will not be a discussion, but a final answer. So make sure all your arguments are in the ticket.
It is an urban myth that it helps to ask for a higher ranking person at support. The company’s who do, don’t but just give you another person of the same level (wich I find a disgrace, company’s should be honest to customers). In customer support there are two ways of escalating a ticket.
The first is cause it is very technical. Then it goes to a technician. The second is cause it is complicated but not on a technical level. In those situations it goes to a manager (but the original agent stays case owner and will be the contact on behalf of the company).

You are free to buy whatever region you prefer. but NA is the most common one, specially cause the unofficial ‘oceanic’ server is in the NA.
The region is only important for unlocking current or future content that needs a serial code to be added to your account. as the serial codes through authenticated dealers in your country should be NA codes, that is the safe option.

First off all, trying to explain mechanics with lore is always terrible difficult. For example, we have a way to get into the myst from anywhere in the world.
The reason I gave this link, is cause it holds a possible explaination.
We don’t really use a portal to the mists, we use asura gates.
The real functioning of asura gates is unknown. But looking at what is available in Lore, they function a bit like wurmholes. the asura gates that lead through the mist are wurmholes that go through the actual portal beneath Lion’s Arch.
The actual portal can very well be in those tunnels and they can be unharmed by the attacks.

Keep in mind that for events it is nearly impossible,
There are events now-a-days that almost never spawn, the so called back up events.
These events are there for when a map is very very busy. If that is the case, the time it takes to complete events is shorter, so the result would be lesser events you can encounter. Also the events would all be too easy to do. That is why there are some events that only happen when it is really busy. a few examples:

Nope, if you are in the friendzone, there is no escaping.
serious though. You can’t decide who call’s you a friend. If you don’t want someone in your follower’s list you can add them to your own friendlist to show you you like him/her too or to your blocked list cause you hate the person.
Often these questions arise from other reasons. If someone is stalking or harashing you, you can report them for that. Just having you on the friendlist is not stalking or harashing, but misusing this function to follow you around game is.

Make some of the personal stories less friendly for rangers
Proposal Functionality
Don’t get me wrong. The class needs an overhaul and there are excellent suggestions here. But another issue is that leveling a ranger is too ‘easy’. Other classes need to learn important tactics like dodge early on.
A ranger is often (not always) chosen cause you get a cute animal. This means the type of player is (in general) more concerned bout esthetics then being good. This is enhanced by how easy it is to play (let your furry bear tank for you while you nuke them with your barrage).
In end game content this simply doesn’t work anymore and has leaded to the distaste many pugs have for rangers. By making rangers better players early on this can be bend around.

As AP said, your friend will need to ask for a review by submitting a support ticket.
Anet is not sharing evidence. The reason is that botting is a serious offence done by very bad people (criminal organisations hacking accounts, to bot, so they can seel the money for real world money.). Sharing evidence with potential bad people means those people find out more details bout the bot-detection system Arenanet is using. That is why that Arenanet told all of us in the user agreement that they can close any account without any evidence or reason needed. It is a matter of trust they don’t.
On a side note. The automated bot detection system is not banning people. They only flag suspicious accounts. After a review by a GM the ban is made.
GM’s are people so it is possible they made a mistake. Hence AP’s advise to submit a support ticket.

I do not think that speculating on the cause is going to help the OP at all. The fact that his ticket is escalted means that they are investigating this. Speculation will not speed up that process.

No need for dev’s to respond (and its actually not allowed to ask for a dev response, so that is breaking the rules ).
The answer is obvious. NO
There are some actions that are illegal in the game. The one that has to with your question is that off selling ingame items (fortune) for real life money. So sending or recieving large amounts of gold ingame is something suspicious and automated systems might mark your account for review. This doesn’t have any consequences and you won’t notice a thing. It will mean that a GM will review your actions. Only after a GM has done that and found in his judgement that you where involved with real money transfers, he will suspend you.
To avoid detection there is a very bad urban myth saying that you should use a guildbank. This is wrong!. If this would work, then the bad people would use it, and so it would only raise more questions bout your behaviour. So don’t try to avoid the automated detection, but make sure you help the GM a lil bit. For example, if you are hosting a guild lottery, let people sending you gold type the word guild lottery. also have a guild lottery reply you copy paste. Just make sure that your intetions are visable in the communcation when tranferring the money and all should be fine.

You get the message in german cause your OS is in german. That is normal. These kind of errormessages are so called deep error’s and so the program doesn’t remmeber the language you told them to use, but uses your OS language. No need to worry bout that.
For the rest. if this problem is consistent, pls use IC’s advice and do a repair.

What does differ though is the personal story (the first parts). Each race has it’s own starting world and personal story.
Look here for more info: Personal Story
But you might not be into following the story line at all, that’s all up to the player
I’m a lot into story, thats why I have had 25 level 29’s. Just to have seen all the possible story-lines

My number is an estimate. I have it from my former job (a mobile operator).
The issue people often forget is that besides customer agents, you also need managers, legal department, support tools, desks, computers, office building, etc.
It is not for nothing that so many company’s outsource support to e.g. India, where loans are less, but also it is acceptable to let people work on bad chairs, on not optimum desks, with 25 year old equipment, etc. That lowers that cost significantly (but guess everyone knows what happens to quality).
Support is a heave post on a company balance, specially a gamecompany like anet/ncsoft. They have 4 major branches that cost money
- publishing
- servers
- support
- content development
Content development is off course the most expensive off the 4, but support is more then the publishing costs and the servers.

The I7-2600 uses the 1155 socket. It is one off the best CPU’s available for that socket. To be able to run better CPU’s (e.g. ones with 6-8 cores) you also need a different mainboard. This would also mean you prolly need different memory.
My advice would be to post your full specs into a post in the technical support forum and your budget and ask them people there how they would invest it. Without knowing a lot bout the rest of the system it is hard to tell.

The person responsable has explained it is delayed till monday (today) it is currently early monday morning in Arenanet HQ. So please be patient. Let the guy drink his morning coffee. I think we all know the monday morning feeling. Even the privelge off working at Anet HQ will not fully change that

It is perfectly allright to use a US key while you play on EU servers.
The only dissadvantage is that when you buy things from EU retailers you can’t use them in the game.
So to name a few examples.
a: Pre-paid gemcards bought in europe won’t work on your account (you can buy gems directly at arenanet using credit card or paypall)
b: Somewhere around the summer, Arenanet was giving away free codes to recieve a unique miniature. There was a EU-version and a US-version, and you would need the US version. Not many where given out though and its a small thingy.
c: this last is speculation. But expansion packs will likely need to be US-versions off the pack. Keep in mind that Arenanet has not announced any expansions yet, and also stated they are not sure if they will release a traditional expansion pack or release it in a more unconventional way.
I’m not sure if support can help you with changing the account to a EU-account, but if it really is important for you, you could ask.
