Thanks again for the answers and opinions so far

I think I’ll try elementalist at start and see how it goes.
Now that the class is decided….

1. Does race actually matter? I can see there’s some racials but anything that makes difference in levelling or at level cap?

2. Crafting, any preferred combos for elementalists? Or should i go strictly for gathering materials to sell for some income at the start?

Race doesn’t really matter. there are some racial skills, but they are pretty general and actually not very often used. The looks off course does matter. Asura’s have the great advantage that they are small. This means that when doing jumping puzzles (you get specialy rewards in GW2 for jumping to hard to get places), you have a good overview and good placement off the camera (on big charrs, its often more difficult to guess where you will land and in narrow spaces, the camera can clips strangely into walls).

Asura’s also have a great dissadvantage and that is that they are small (deja vu ). A greatsword on an asura is the size off a (small) dagger on a norn. In a game where the grinding rewards are not stats but skins that is seen as a dissadvantage

2: I would really recommend to craft from the start (or atleast from level 15 onwards). As for the crafting disciplinesI would recommend to take one that is convinient for your ele and one for all classes. The reason is that you likely will run a bit behind the facts. When you are level 30 you prolly can craft level 20 weapons.
My advise would be artificer and jeweller. Jeweller is convinient for all classes. The main goal of an artificer is to make magical weapons (staff, scepter, focus, trident) wich are not usable for all classes, but you can also craft potions (consumable boost) that really will be helpfull for later classes.

What Ignavia said, just a small remark.
Dungeons are challenging content. While you can do the first dungeon path at level 30, most pug’s (pick up groups) will require you to be higher level. I normally advertise in the looking for group tool for that lowest dungeon for level 40+ or if I’m not in the mood for explainging a lot or having to drag the party through I’ll ask for level 60+.

As for being stuck on killing boars in the forrest .
you can easily become level 15 in the startermap if you also do things like gathering, crafting, events and personal story. but you can also rush through. However, each race has it’s own startermap. so you can always go there to do the same starter content in a different atmosphere.

GW2 Devs Have In-game Powers?

There are several things going on in LA.
Going AFK there is perfectly ok. trying to circumvent the (currently long) afk time is not ok. This includes e.g. running into a wall. That is exploiting.

Dev’s do not have special powers ingame. GM’s do have special powers through a GM-tool. Chris is a GM and has access to this tool. I suspect that he was investigating some possible exploit and saw some people exploiting and decided to suspend them strait away.

Does police have the right to arrest you when they see you robbing a bank??

As far as I know the afk timer in LA is 60min, so currently there is no need to circumvent the timer since the event only lasts like 45min.

No,
The afk-timer is actually much more intelligent.
In the town LA (before all this stuff) I would be kicked after allready 30 minutes if I was standing at the mystic forge.
If I was standing at the lighthouse, this would be 60 minutes. If I go to the eye off the north It would be up to 3 hours. It seems that the AFK-timer tracks where you are and how busy that place is. in busy places you get kicked sooner.

Question about transmutation

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: mercury ranique.2170

mercury ranique.2170

Yes this still work. Keep in mind the non soulbound sword has to be white (common-quality) and a drop or be crafted. (so not something from the weapon vendors or karma vendors).

Alsokeep in mind that cause off the poor quality you will likely need 2 transmuation crystals. One to bring the skin on the low level/quality sword so you have it account bound. And one to bring to exotic or better stats again.

Instead of the second you can also use a transmutation splitter. This is more cost efficient for hard to get by stats like legendary or ascended.

1: I would suggest one of the bigger populated english servers. Gandara would be a good option.

2: I would recommend the elementalist. They are squishy, and that means that you are forcing yourself to learn the most important survival techniques early on. Besides that, elementalist have some healing capacity’s you might find interesting. When you switch to your main character you will know the basic importances. This class is not good on survivabillity, but see it from the other side. you shouldnt use survivabillity as your first defense. This is a mistake often made. Learning how to dodge and avoid damage is very important and much more efficient then investing in heavy armor or healing skills.

3: I’m honest, I’m a stalker of this forum and always happy to help here in the open. if you desire this, I’m less suited.

4: No!
Lemme elobarate more. There is no leveling process. Yes you can reach max level (80) and that is often a milestone and a happy occasion (7/8 characters max level now), but it is not the reward itself. This game doesn’t know endgame. Instead there is a scaling system. In other mmo’s if you go to a starter zone with max level you can one hit everything but they don’t drop a thing anymore. In this game you get downleveled (and in some special maps even upleveled) to the level where the content is designed for. Off course through optimum armor and trats, and cause of having unlocked every skill you are still more efficient. But you still need to work for your drops. On top of that, you will get drops designed for your level.

an example:
In queensdale (a startermap) there is an event called the shadow behemoth. This is a world boss event and a yaw-dropper for everyone doing it for the first time. It is very epic and you will remember your first time. It is an event designed for level 15. So if I bring my level 80 guardian there, I will have stats of a level 15 player. On defeat a chest will spawn. If you did it on a level 15 character you will get level 15 items out of that chest. But me, being on my level 80 character gets level 80 stuff. This event, eventhough it is in a startermap, is therefor part off the endgame.

In short, yet it takes time to get to level 80, but you get there by doing and enjoying the same things as being level 80. The main issue is that people are so used to have the mindset off other games that they rush rush to level 80 and then complain that there is no endgame (no special things to do different then when leveling).

You say everyone uses and knows UTC. I don’t think that is true. It may be wherever you are from, but I can’t say it is worldwide, as much as it maybe should be.

Many, many computers use Windows Vista or higher, and it comes with an automatic time zone converter, right in the corner. =)

No, I don’t say everyone uses and knows UTC. Reread. What I said is that if people know more than two timezones in the world, it’s more likely to be theirs and UTC (except the US, but wake up, US isn’t the whole world… yet).

I use Windows 7, I just checked and I see no converter. Plus, if it existed (which is not the case on my system) it’d be a third party tool. ArenaNet should give straight information in UTC without us having to use a third party tool.

left click the time, click on change time and date, add clock.

Oh yes, the greyed thing I cannot access ‘cause my system admin doesn’t allow me to? If it worked, it’d still be a third party tool. Same player, try again.

your agressivness is stunning. Try to be a bit nicer if you want some symphtaty. It’s not our fault that your sys admin doesnt allow you this. Talk with your sys admin isntead of demanding a gamecompany to make changes only important to you.

(keep in mind, that that ‘third party tool’ would also change your ingame clock if you have it on local time.)

Strange, my windows 7 does have an automatic converter. must be an ultra deluxe version or something.

Timezones are timezones, they are just odd. I do think that the best solution is to use a guild website for things. I know that shivtr is very good on this part.In my old guild, whenever I planned an event, I just could give in my own time and it would aotumaticly display it for all members in the right (local) time if they where logged in.

Given the fact that afk-ing is allready disgusting (but allowed) I would vote for a suspension of several weeks for the first offense (till this living story is over).

“Since you were following the law, the rest of us are just going to agree to put you in jail.”

This is some real third world democracy kitten right here. I guess disgust is a relative thing. Thankfully, I don’t think Anet has any intention of doing anything this monumentally stupid.

Please when quoting don’t pull it out of context. Specially if you are showing not understanding at all what I was saying.

AFK-ing in LA is allowed (its disgustingbehaviour but allowed). If you however are trying to circumvent auto-kicks for AFK-ing you are exploiting. This is allready not allowed. Cause the goal is something really disgusting I’m saying to punish ther disallowed behaviour (the exploiting) heavier then normally would be the case.

Actually, it isn’t heavier, on exploiting the punishment is lifetime, but I think that would be too harsh.

mercury ranique.2170

You allready need to do the events, but to get the good stuff in the 1200 bag you actually need no zerg doing the events.

Within reaching the 1200 saves you really need to do those events. Citizens has to pass throuh them. The only issue with zergs is that they scale up the events even more, making it more complicated to do and have not enough people doing citizens.

There also isn’t an issue, so there is no solution needed. You can do events, get your achievements easily AND get the 1200 citizens. 8 people are needed for the most difficult event, any person extra will only scale it up

Why are there no GMs? How's Support?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: mercury ranique.2170

mercury ranique.2170

there are GM’s, but they just are not aproachhable in game.
The reason is that they want everything well documented and sructured. So you need to make a support ticket to get assistance.

And yes it is financially. A single customer support ticket (or interference off a GM) will cost bout 10 USD on average (this includes overhead, costs for equipment, computer systems, office space, etc etc). for a subscription fee based game this is not an issue. For a game that is depending on microtransactions and box sales it is. Keep in mind that we are not just talking bout a game you play for one year, but many people have been playing GW1 for 7 year and only spent 150 USD in those 7 years.

So compared to e.g. WoW. They also sell boxed games and expansions for simular prices. They also have a 10 USD monthly fee.
So per gamer GW1 gets 150 USD in 7 years and WoW gets 990 USD in 7 years. If the amount of support requests are the same (lets say one every year) then GW1 has leftover for develloping and running the servers: 80 USD and WoW 920 USD. I think it is very reasonable that support is more limited.

@Dabrixmgp: Those are devs playing the game. Devs are encouraged to play the game themself and anet finds it important that we know. They are NOT GM’s and should be treated and aproached as normal players.

The issue here is money.
MMORPG-ing on consoles is still very young. Anet or NCsoft have no commercial need. The market for PC-games is booming and going console would be a high risk investment.

I totally agree one 90% of what you are saying. But I still think it’s doable. If you lock at the lowest specs required to play GW2, the new consoles should manage that.

I love to see a healthy PC market. My pint is if NCSoft and Anet make a console port they would have spreed there risk significantly. The initial costs will maybe hurt, but in the long run I am sure it will pay of.

Yes off course it is doable, but it is not financially intersting.

Can we get Banned for Kicking?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: mercury ranique.2170

mercury ranique.2170

From the gw2 rules of conduct:
’While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players. ’

So, if you find it not enjoyable to be in a party with someone who doesn’t know how to do a dungeon, you have the full right to ask that person to respect that and more important to kick him from the party.

The issue here is that people also kick to make room for a friend, so that friend get the reward instead of someone who they don’t know. Often motives like ‘you where holding the party down’ are used to hide the real intentions. It is clear that in that situation the real intention is to cause distress and so the kicker is the guilty party.

But. There are rules and there consequences. Support has proven many times that they will not engage in judging in a conflict in a group of players unless the breaking off this rule has been on purpose, willingly and beyond reasonable doubt. This is why so often people get away with things.

Itl;dr – Your fine. You can get banned for kicking, but not in this occasion.

New RNG system...could it work in GW2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: mercury ranique.2170

mercury ranique.2170

I do think that DR has some things to do with it, but the mechanics could be combined to solve any problem.

A good system would be that for every ‘bad’ drop you would gain 1% MF. So 100 bad drops means 100% extra MF. If you hit for some reason DR, then you would loose all benefits.

The issue is imo not that people are unlucky in RNG, but more that the game has a bad way of valueing good drops.

For example:
A vicious fang is a fine (blue) drop and doesn’t count as a valuable drop (magic find will not increase the chance of dropping this for you, and might even very slightly make the chance smaller). This item cost currently on the TP 37s
A pile of putrid essence is a rare (yellow) drop. So it counts as a valuable drop (magic find will increase your change of getting this). This item cost on the TP 2s.

Keep in mind they are both off the same level (level 80+ drop).

To fix this, the system would be changed big time. Seeing how the in house economist is currently protecting the interest of traders and at the same time neglecting the needs of the actual players I don’t see the very needed changes in the economics off this game happening.

mercury ranique.2170

Yes I can confirm. When you delete all your characters you can transfer to any server. So also from an NA server to an EU-server.

Your bank account will be transfered with you, so anything stored there (including items in your wallet like gold and karma) will be transferred and usable for your new characters. This includes account bound items (not soulbound items).

-note: items in a (personal guildbank will not transfer, as well as that your guild will need to rebuild all unlocks on the new server.).

The price of transfers without deleting all your characters depends on the server you are going to. and specially the population size.
For a medium populated server the price is 500 gems = 6,25 euro USD
For a high populated server the price is 1000 gems = 12,50 USD
for a very high populated server the price is 1800 gems: 16,25 USD

mercury ranique.2170

The issue here is money.
MMORPG-ing on consoles is still very young. And to develop a client, specially for an allready existing game not opitmized for consoles from the start, asks for big investments. On top off that it is questionable if it will be profitable for them in the end. It would be a high-risk investment. Also consider that NCsoft (the publisher) has not had any experience with console games, and if they would wanted to look into that they would likely be first going to console with a more trusted game genre. For example, Square Enix first brought Tombraider to the console before going there with an mmo.

So I am not seeing this happening any soon. Anet or NCsoft have no commercial need. The market for PC-games is booming and going console would be a high risk investment.

They added a new crafting level (500). getting to 500 takes significantly longer and you will need to farm specific new crafting materials (many off them you get in LA, thats one of the reason I said so).

I dissagree that there are no interesting skins to craft. The issue is that not everything is craftable, and if it happen that you want a skin thats not craftable, then you end up buying it. There have always been some unique recipes and recently the line got broader.

Crafting never had been a significant part of GW1 and in GW2 it seems that it is less then other games. Personally I like that, but yompared to some other games, crafting is pretty light.

Just a quick warning to add for the next days, there seems to be a bug with map completion if you finish your 100% map exploration by one of the two new POI of Lion Arch, preventing you from getting your last reward (gift of exploration being the biggest problem). So if you’re exploring only for the sake of the gift, make sure you don’t finish your map exploration by those two.

I think this is wrong information. Yes there is a bug. I do not think it has to do with a specific point doing last and there are no indications it is.

I think you have a very wrong idea and are too much expecting to have a WoW clone where you fiorst get endlessly grinding to max level and when you reach it the real end-game boringness of grinds start. Here grinds are for skins only, and the goal in the game is not to get you addicted, but to have fun and relax. This means the end game starts at level 1.

The issue is that too many people are soo focussed and brainwashed by those other games they are totally fixated on that number instead of realizing they allready are having fun.

Superior Runes?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: mercury ranique.2170

mercury ranique.2170

Hi

First of all gratz on getting level 80. you got the world ready to start playing endgame.
I’m not going to say directly you are wrong. I actually understand why you are thinking bout knights in combination with divinity or soldier.

I would suggest to rethink your role and start doing some dungeons (easy paths, only join groups that ask for level 60+, do not join only level 80 adverts)

The reason is that you are miles off from what is considered meta. specially if your goal is PvE. I could tell you what the meta would be, but I think you used simular stats all the way through your leveling process and haven’t really learned some basics off the game.

So the answer is Beserker (for PvE). power – precission – critical damage.
This will mean you hit hard, with a high change of hitting harder, and if you hit harder you will hit a lot harder. You are a DPS machine and that is the core quality for warriors in this game.

This game is designed to not have tanks. survivabillity do not come from armor stats (specially not on a warrior). it comes first off all from player skill (keep mobile and keep avoiding enemy damage) and secondly from you traits and skills (but not the stats the traits deliver, just the effects).

tl:dr: for this setup choose rune of divinity, but please consider a different direction. please do read all I said

Found Heirlooms - Is there enough time?

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Posted by: mercury ranique.2170

mercury ranique.2170

Seriousely… if you get… well say… 35 heirlooms a day…
Which means for me, that I need at LEAST 3 hours to gather all the spots while totally ignoring events…

I’m sorry what? It takes you 3 HOURS?! What the hell, are you doing it while perma chilled or something? Ignoring events it should only take one round, even on an up level when you have a map.

It takes me 2 rounds, and I only go after 30 rubble… Its takes awhile when you have to solo them. Getting through mobs and dying multiple times….I don’t have a guild that is interested in grinding so, it is slow enough.

All this encourages is people afk in the event, to get ‘free’ bags.

First off all, I’m on a guardian, maybe that is making the change. But I am visiting them all each day and it takes me no more then 30 minutes to get all 40 locations. I do it alone, but also don’t really fight a lot on the way.

Necro.. and I find even with speed boosts I’m not quick enough to avoid some of the mobs, particularly those up towards the diving board

Well, the diving board (only needed for one rubble) is one of the hardest in the map.

I would suggest for a necro to take some time before you go to that spot to fill your life force (if needed). when at the waypoint there you ignore the one at that cave. jsut run through, when you get to the heavy hitting ones on top of the hill, enter deathshroud, and stay in it till you are past it. there is one irritating vet following you and keeping you from making the final jump, but that one shouldn’t be too much off an issue (tough with a speedboost, in your case e.g. the warhorn skill, it is easy to with her agro).

The main issue with the necromancer is that you need to attack to have your deathshroud. So always make sure you got it loaded and use the trash mobs (less then vet) to get it up and recognise the hard parts.

I remember how a dev said it wont come back because it would be unfair to people.

As for the jet pack, those specific rewards are intended as limited rewards you can only earn during that time, thus making them valuable. It wouldn’t be fair to the people who did earn jet packs for us to bring them back, and suddenly undercut their value entirely.

Thanx, but I asked for a link to the quote, not for a quote. He obviously said things before and after. It is your judgement that makes you pick this quote, but I would love to see the whole story.

Don’t get me wrong. I know for a fact that colin has not always been a man for his word. He has been promising thing that he didn’t deliver. It even seems to be his weak point. he keeps falling into his own trap (for the rest your doing great colin). but if you just look at https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/looking-ahead-guild-wars-2-in-2013/ you will find a lot of unforfilled promises:
1: no new trasits, just some replaced
2: legendary gear

4: ‘craftable’ precursor

Just to name a few. I like Colin’s enthousasm and I do think he is doing the best he can for this game. but he is not a good politician. He has been making some promises he didn’t keep.

I do think the afk-timer should be limited to 5 minutes (including the 1 minute warning). Every action to bypass this auto-kick would be an exploit.

Today, I was rescueing citizens near the old TP. at the small path between the gendarran fields exit and the tp-area there was someone just standing whil I was solo killing the vet and adds that spawn there from time to time. So I decided to pull it to them. He moved away without doing anything within 20 seconds. He moved again to avoid combat till when the cycle was over he was at the back end of the TP.

I find this behaviour very bad. But it is not bannable. he was there and he was anticipating and pressing keys. so he was playing the game and rules are rules, so despite my personal opinion bout it, he is not wrong.

Whenever, people are using botting software or glitches to avoid being kicked they should be suspended for exploiting/botting asap. Given the fact that afk-ing is allready disgusting (but allowed) I would vote for a suspension of several weeks for the first offense (till this living story is over).

If you want to follow my hint: use the portal in your home town to go to Gendarran fields. A bit south of where you land you will see a big balloon. Use it to go to lornar’s pass and use the asura portal to enter lion’s arch.

Why would you enter from lornar’s? The Gendarran entrance works fine and the event is much easier.

It’s actually just a shortcut. Taking the balloon too Lornar’s puts you right at the entrance while in Gendarran you have to walk a bit before you get there.

There is a waypoint next to the Gendarran entrance.

We are talking bout a level 15 character in a level 25+ map here. He will not have unlocked this waypoint and he will need to go through hostile terrain. even cause it is only like 3-4 single mobs that can be an issue, for example the event on the bridge to applenook can cause a lot of trouble for him.

Same goes for bloodtide coast, there are a few foes on the path from the balloon to the town.

Lornar pass balloon is in the camp and you can walk without issue to the portal (unless someone pulls the wolves out off the cave nearby, but thats rare)

Think this would call for a dev to comment. It might not be an oversight. the image in game off the location is very generic and it might be that it got replaced. A comment from a dev saying (in simular wording):
a: this was na oversight, we’ll set it right asap
b: We didn’t forget bout this and you can do this trek location in the current build.

If it is A we all know that it is ok
If it is B we all know that we need to start looking :P

This is the error i get. Says offensive behaviour but all I did was stand for like 2 mins to grab some food I dont thin kthts offensive behaviour.

Ok, keep in mind that support always suspends someone after they manually reviewed your actions. This means that your account could have been flagged suspiccious hours and even days ago. this flag only means that a GM is going to review (and you dont even get a notification. So the reason they suspended you can be days ago and have nothing to do with you going afk.

The term they used is a new one for me, but often the terms are from the rules of conduct.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/

There are three points where the word offensive is used there.
- in the rules about character names (but you wouldn’t get suspended for 72 hours on the first offense, but jsut a forced name change, and the message would tell you it is because of an inapropoiate name).
- For mis-using the report system (did you recently report someone, for the wrong reason?? I personally don’t think they would do this easily.

So the last one is the most likely answer:

While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players. This includes posting insulting, offensive, or abusive comments about players, repeatedly sending unwanted messages, reporting players maliciously, attacking a player based on race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated.

So. the question for you is wether you did something in the last few days that might have been considered offensive by others?? something that would fall into this text??

Maybe you recognise it now. if not you need to wait for an answer from support.

I don’t know why you’re assuming his account has any MF when he’s said it does not. If someone never redeemed the original MF item, and never redeemed any essence of luck, then the account would be at zero and any characters made would have zero. He says he is unable to find the original MF-booster, and thus has never applied any MF to his account.

I was saying that since it is accountbound (and thus applies to all characters), his suggestion of just automatically applying it to the account made sense.

Now, if he has been redeeming Essence of Luck and characters are still showing no MF, then either something else is going on or he’s looking at the wrong thing.

I assume it cause I find it hard to believe that someone never got any essence of luck.
Imagine how easy it is to just do a daily by accident. Or do lion’s arch under attack and get a children’s drawing.

For the OP, magic find is clearly important (he made a ticket and this post). So I assume he has characters with magic find.
I suspect he doesn’t really know where to look or what to expect of the 20% and maybe that he didn’t udnerstood it is now accountbased. That is why I asked him an honest question in the hope to solve this quicker for him.

link the quote or it didn’t happen!

To the OP. I’m actually ok with it. It is only a short period and the amount entering the market is a lot slimmer then back then when it was first introduced. Yes prices aredropping fast now, but within weeks after this living story it will be full up to the old prizes. There are just some people wanting to make fast money. I see this as an echo off the things that we went through to get there and a nice addition to the conclusion of the story.

I just got a 72 hr ban for the same thing and submitted a ticket. This is so over the top its not funny

How can you say it is for the same thing?? What where you actually doing?? what is in the message??

I suspect you where using a trick to be AFK in LA while others activly where rescueing civilians so you get full credit for doing nothing. Mind me. The focus is on the word ‘trick’.

If you where using a trick, don’t mention what it is btw. Advertising an exploit is against the rule as well (and as this forum is public, well naming it would be advertising).

At the moment both of you are making a lot of noise, but are not giving any clear info. If your goal is to raise support for your issue, then I think you should help by saying the full error message as well as what you where doing. If you where not exploiting you can tell what you where doing cause it wouldnt be advertising an exploit.

But don’t point without giving any info pls.

As said, im a bystander. I’m here not to judge but just to help.

It’s a slim chance, since you’re both having the issue, but the 20% Magic Find item will appear in the mailbox of the first character you logged into after the update. I had logged into a rarely-used alt to check something and it took me awhile to figure out that’s where it was.

Is it possible you’ve deleted characters that it may have been on?

I guess its possible, but either way since it didn’t get applied to my account, i should receive a new one. Why don’t they just apply the 20% automatically to all characters at start?

uhm, not sure what you mean, but magic find is account bound, not soulbound, they changed that at the same time as the free 20 MF was given. So thats why I also find it strange that you talk bout having 0 magic find when you start a new character. all your character have the same (unless you run some booster).

Right, but in order to get that on your account in the first place, there was an item that boosted you to 20%. He never got that item. Thus his account is at 0% (I’m assuming you haven’t used any Essence of Luck since, OP?) So applying the 20% to the account automatically actually makes a lot of sense, instead of giving you an easily-lost (based on posts I’ve seen) item.

Blue,
I was asking it cause I have a suspicion the OP isn’t sure where to look. He said in his initial post that all his characters start at 0% magic find. this is untrue (assuming your account has any magic find) cause it is accountbound. He repeated it again in a later post, so I want to make sure he is seeing what we are all seeing. Misinterpetation off the system can also cause that two people who happen to be married have the same ‘unique’ issue.

Cantha, Elona, and Tyria

in Lore

mercury ranique.2170

First off all.
There are 3 known continents. There is a lot more world then that.

Also, the continent off Elona and Tyria could also be considered to be the same continent. It depends a bit on what continent you use.

Also, the masses are not chanting for a traditional expansion. There are some complaining it is taking them too long to come out with expansion type content, as this is a forum, those voices are more visable.

I don’t care how they introduce it, as long as they introduce some good content. This means ready when it is ready. not ready cause some are impatient and are pushing them to bring a bad product.

Also cause this this is posted in the lore section, I would ask to concentrate on that part of the question.

To answer that. I do not think that places outside of Tyria will be visited soon. They might have some loose long term plans, but for now Tyria itself has too much world too explore. Among them:
Maguuma Wastes
Fire islands
Deldrimor front
Crystal dessert
Far shiverpeaks
Charr homelands
and the things above DR (forgot the name;) )

Specially going to Cantha very soon would feel like they would leave Tyria (continent) unfinished.. Elona is more likely to be opened when we go into the crystal desert, but not by definition.

mercury ranique.2170

First off all, you will always get a reason. In the screen saying you are suspended, is also a reason. This is just one line. e.g. ‘For using a third party program’ or ‘inapropiate character name’.

You submitted a ticket and that is the right thing to do. Posting here does not help. If you didn’t recieve any viable answer within the next 72 hours, pls post in the designated sticky.

btw, on a side note, going afk in LA is in itself not a suspendable offense, but I personally find it an act of bad taste. You are not helping your map while afk, while keeping the spot that someone could get when you would go afk in any other map.

Also I know that for this reason the idle time in LA is pretty short. trying to prevent being kicked out for inactivity can be considered an exploit.

Hope you are, as you claim, innocent and all is solved soon enough.
And if there was an offense, you atleast would get some information. bout the reasons.

Gift of blades recipe is also sold for pure gold by Miyanni for 5 gold (instead of 3g and 250 belongings).

I’m working on legendary and got the recipe and other items unique to this even for when thats done and I can invest in leveling crafting to 500 but I bought it from Miyanni for the higher price. The belongings I spend on obsidian shards. They are hard enough to come buy and needed for both ascended gear and legendary gear.

He gifted you the account in the correct way. This means you are 100% owner off the account.

The only reason something could happen is if he requests a refund (and so cancels his gift to you). That would mean the account was considered never to be sold and would be closed.

Why is server stacking encouraged?

in WvW

Posted by: mercury ranique.2170

mercury ranique.2170

I have to disagree with you.
For World Versus World, the low tier and high tier are extremely boring and more important often with a fix outcome. For the low tier cause there are some near-dead servers (where it comes to WvW). for the high tier cause everyone wants to be in the No.1 world. In the mid range the fights are actually surprising and balanced. You win some and you loose some. Being better then average means you can help your world to bring up the average.

As for PvE.
My server is doing 1200 civilians every single time when I’ve been in the zone. It doesn’t matter if it is the middle off the night or early morning or prime time. There is some overflow, but if you manage to be in one of the bordering maps before a LA cycle misses, you get 99% certain in to main. And even after a cycle was ended, I got into main through one of the neigbouring maps. overflow only really happens in gendaran fields due to the keep there and in bloodtide cause of the wurm. Lornar pass is almost always good to go.

Now, the key to succes is udnerstanding that 1200 citizens is a group effort. You can’t do it alone, and whining in mapchat won’t do you good. What does help is convincing people. It actually is worth it to do. Explain that the loot is better then when you zerg around. convince commanders to tag down and convince zergers to leave the zerg. Explain that the 1200 bag has a higher then usual change on ascended armor, and precursors, explain they can get the jetpack skin or a jade weapon ticket.

Also explain the number. So often, When it is 10 minutes in, we get 350 citizens and people start saying we will never make it. That is wrong.
You got over 40 minutes. So if you reach over 300 citizens in the first 10 minutes you really have a good change of making it. if you got 600 at the half hour mark your good.

Also keep in mind AND make people udnerstand that after the 45 minutes mark things go faster cause the big zerging events are over AND the rubble-hunters have joined in by then.

But going into the map with the attitude, ‘we are not going to make it’ and starting to spread that atmosphere in map chat will be a selffullfilling prophecy.

The issue is that your server likely is very high populated, but just not in the starter maps.
Experienced players will level up using the champtrain in queensdale (very boring, but more lucrative and faster), so all you meet are people running to living story or going for full map completion AND new players.

Also, the latest lving story instalment is a hit. Looking at my friendslist, bout 75% off the people online is doing that. So cause off that, many people have been putting low level characters aside, adn even world bosses have issues getting a good amount of people.

due to the champtrain etc, Queensdale is still somewhat popular.

See it like this. The living story arc has been building for over a year. This is the final chapter (well the first half of it). When the last harry potter book came out. How many do you think where readying the first, and how many the last?? In a few weeks when the living story has finished I reckon things will return to normal.
