The Vigil keep campment has every sign off being a temporary solution (refugee camp, bank in what seems to be a storage room, bl trading post is just some cars, many boxes and tents that have swiftly build).

I think that after scarlets attack we will have a ‘new’ Lion’s Arch. Maybe somewhere else. Maybe on the location of the vigil keep, maybe even in a different continent. Maybe the same name, maybe a different name. Lots of theory’s have been thrown out. I’m happy to wait and see what Anet has in store for us. Knowing what they did with the old lions arch im certain it is in good hands.

I’m sorry what? It takes you 3 HOURS?! What the hell, are you doing it while perma chilled or something? Ignoring events it should only take one round, even on an up level when you have a map.

It takes me 2 rounds, and I only go after 30 rubble… Its takes awhile when you have to solo them. Getting through mobs and dying multiple times….I don’t have a guild that is interested in grinding so, it is slow enough.

All this encourages is people afk in the event, to get ‘free’ bags.

First off all, I’m on a guardian, maybe that is making the change. But I am visiting them all each day and it takes me no more then 30 minutes to get all 40 locations. I do it alone, but also don’t really fight a lot on the way.

What many people don’t realise is that almost everything grants xp. See a tree? cut it down for the wood and gain some. See someone dead? rez them and get some XP. Meet an event? participate and get some XP.

off course you need to be in a map to do so. At level 15 you basicly have 2 options. The first is to go ahead and level in a level 15-25 map. When you are allready having issues staying alive, that might be challenging. If you prefer a more relaxing pace of leveling I would suggest going to one of the other starting maps.

-hint: if you like a real challenge you can try to go into lion’s arch. currently the living story is there. It is designed for level 80. You will get upgraded to level 80, but with your current armor and skills it is pretty challenging. So not for the faint of heart. But the xp you get is amazing there and it drops ‘found belongings (bout 50 per sequence of 1 hour). with 100 off them you can ’buy’ a level (you buy a tome of knowledge that will grant you a level). Not easy to do, but very rewarding.

If you want to follow my hint: use the portal in your home town to go to Gendarran fields. A bit south of where you land you will see a big balloon. Use it to go to lornar’s pass and use the asura portal to enter lion’s arch.

It might be that it is blocked (the town is open 45 minutes in every hour). To unblock it, every hour at 5 minutes past the hour, an event will start to open it. Stay back there. The event will be level 30. but as soon as its over, go through the portal.

Not really a tech question, but the answer is yes.

Blocking someone doesn’t make it impossible for that person to be where he wants to be. Blocking someone isn’t punishment for that person, it is helping you. The person thats blocked didn’t do anything wrong (or if he/she did, you should report that person).

So yes, you can be paired or against someone you blocked in sPvP

The mods will simply move your post to a more appropiate sub forum. I think that during their hard and good work of mostly solving small fires, they are happy to just be helpfull :P

There has been simular suggestions over the past. The major issue is in the rewards (doing personal story rewards, karma, consumables, unique weapon and armor sets, etc). So it is hard to remove them all. For the rest I don’t have any objections against this.

It’s not an issue to ask here, but just slower then using the wiki. In rata sum, navigating can be a bit tricky. To find the portal to lions arch (wich leads to gendarran fields atm), you need to be on the top level, at the north part off the town.

To the OP. The game seems pretty stable population wise at this point. People will argue til the end of time about what that population is, but as long as you play on one of the big 3 (BG/JQ/TC) you will have plenty of people to play with. Most of the other servers are struggling but the only thing that effects are the major events like Teq and Wurm.

Actually, people who have used a trial account (or even bought the game and asked for a refund a week later) can still post here.

I know blizzard isn’t really paying people, they are low, but not that low. What I’m saying is that I trully don’t understand that people that dislike this game so much, still come here on the forum to troll around.

I tried WoW once. I didn’t like it. But I don’t go to their forum.

If your interested in those you need to search rubble piles in LA (dulfy has an excellent map and guide). They reset at least once per day yielding up to 40 per day. On top off that the ultimate group effort chest (if your map rescues 1200 citizens in a single cycle) you also get 4 garanteed hierlooms.

The population is surely not what it was in the first few months. As always there where a lot of game hoppers (the people that play a game for 3-4 months and then move on to the next one). On top of that, there is now more attention to the higher level area’s then the lower level maps.

However, looking at my own server (EU-Gandara) I have seen a steady population for the last 12 months. It’s not changing a lot and there are more then enough people to have fun with. Some starter zones are a bit died out (kitten you Queensdale champtrain!), but you can have a lot of fun.

So much untruths bout the elementalist.
First off all, in essence the ele is very squishy, but you can build them actually pretty strong without loosing much of its DPS. This is also important. due to the fact that you don’t have healers to keep you alive and you don’t have tanks getting all the agro, it is not a simple matter off getting the dps in. You need to move, you need to kite, and you need to avoid getting killed while you deal DPS.

They are very viable in WvW and actually my most favourite class there. All the people saying not, ask yourself, what you do if your attacking a gate and there is an ele on the wall casting meteorshower on your pretty rams

There is an account restoration system in place. This system takes ‘snapshots’ off your account and let support restore an account to that moment in time. However , this system was implemented way over a year ago, in december 2012 to be precise. So it depends when you stopped playing. You use the same term (way over a year ago) so it might be that there are no snapshots off your account from before it got corupted.

If there is, then we are not there yet.
The first step is to verify your account has been breached. a restoration is only given when a third party takes control over your account without you realizing and knowing it. You currently in the process of it.
The second step is making sure your account doesn’t get breached again. In essence this would mean finding out how they did it, but in your case that might be hard. following basic safety rules (two way authentication and a good virusscanner/firewall).
The third step is getting you back into the game.

When all that is realized and you are eligable for a restoration you can get one. Keep in mind that you only get a restoration once in a lifetime. So if you get hacked a second time it is though luck.

My advise is to let this be for the moment and wait till support answers you. if you got back in and have seen the current state of your account you can update the original ticket with a request for restoration.

I use a build that is reasonable good in both PvP and WvW.
I use signet of restoration and in most situations I use signet of Air, signet of Earth and signet of water (swapping the last in case I want the icebow for some specific dungeon).
I have 30 points in Earth trait line and use the master trait ‘Written in Stone’. This means that the passive effects off the traits keeps active when I use the traits.

So I always:
- heal for 202 for each spell I cast (spamming one is often better when your on low health then to activate a power attack that takes time to load)
- 25% increased movement speed (and mobility is important for an Ele)
- 160 touchness
- remove a condition every 10 seconds.

While I can also use these skills to heal me, blind my foe, immobilize them and chill them.

I know this means you don’t have a lot off offense in your utility skills. but you can use e.g. fiery greatsword as your elite to solve that. Besides, due to the rotation between attunements I rarely have skill on cooldown.

I personally don’t use d/d a lot but it is very viable for this setup.

To get an answer you need to talk to support. We can only guess here.
The filter doesn’t only filter english terms that are inappropiate, but also word’s from other languages. So for you and me it can have no bad meaning but for someone from South Africa (as an example) it can be an insult that gets you skinned in seconds.

It is against the forum rules (for obvious reasons) to call out names. So in the bot hot spot it isvery important you don’t give characternames oraccount names of the people doing it. Harashment is simply not allowed.

So I don’t see what kind of system this forum can supply. Besides that, support is very good in handling the reports. After reporting I also block them. I have a long block list and nobody is ever online. I assume that it is cause they all got permabanned.

I rather see that the devs would improve the filters to prevent these PM’s. I don’t see any role for us more then reporting them ingame.

The pact is where the pact is.
If you finished your personal story they are in fort trinity.
If you have not finished your personal story they are where ever your on your personal story.

This issue has been debated and talked bout a lot. So I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible.

The goal of Arenanet is to give everyone a story that can be seen as your story (or mine). Some off us started playing at launch, other just joined us two weeks ago. but it is supposed to be your story.

So in essence that is a good initiative right?
The living story is to make the game feel alive and changing. this is important to all levels and all experiences. a common complaint is that , when going through regular gameplay, the game feels empty. That is understandable. why should I go back to caledon forest??. so it is important that also low level players that didnt do their story yet can experience the living story without a handicap.

Now back to your question and back to role playing. When we found out that LA is the target, Ellen tried to warn the other captains, but failed. They didn’t saw the danger. This is the (lore) reason why the pact isn’t there, but the real reason is that the timeline of the living story is different then the timeline of the personal story. by doing as they did, you can experience the living story at any moment. You can be done with killing Zhaitan, but you can also still be in the progress off retaking claw island.

So for you the questions you ask might seem relevant, but for someone who never visited claw island, it would be utterly confusing.

The writersteam is trying their best to find a balance here,. I think they did a great job by putting the dilemma in the story, but I would respect it of you disagree.

Support does know how to use google translate to check reported names, but then again, certain names can slip through. If I would call you (in my native tongue, dutch ) an ‘Eikel’ then google translate will say: ‘acorn’. However, it is in my language an insult and a bad one. as mentioned the best way is to report this in a support ticket. You can then link to the following information:

Wich will tell you that this word is used for the top part of a male reproduction organ, as well as slang for some faul words.

So…if you feel that a report needs some explaination, it would be best to make a support ticket.

The first real CDI was about the living story. The result was that both us (the players) and the devs learned a lot. It also resulted in a break in the living story. They decided to change things and they needed time. It is why we didnt had any living story from wintersday till the origin of madness.

The result is still in progress, we can’t really judge them till the final chapter has been introduced, but just looking at my friendslist (still more then 50% is in LA), I think it might have been a success.

The CDI is used to use us to make the game better, but from our suggestions to a new plan in game takes a long time. in case of the living story it took 4 months to develop, and on top of it, it takes another 2 months for the new story to be brought to us and the moment we can judge it.

So the input in the ranger CDI will NOT have an impact at the march 18th update.

First off all.
population isn’t a real issue in gw2.
You don’t need to tag foes to get the loot, gathering nodes are for everyone (not first will get it) and you won’t miss rewards if you are on a very crowded server.

So, the question is what you want to do.
PVE: low populated servers offer more personal challenges, cause you need to solo content more often. High end content might be impossible, but you can guest to other servers for that.
WvW (world versus world, a PvE-PvP hybrid form thats huge and very interesting): You should use the leaderboards for that. High scoring servers on the leaderboard will have queue’s to enter WvW and PvE will be almost deserted. Due to a very intelligent matching system, being on a mid range world on the leaderboard, will mean you have interesting matches, (personally I find the matching in the top and bottom on the leaderboards boring, the top always win, the bottom always loose, the real challenge and interesting fights are in the mid sectrion).

PvP: pure pvp matches are actually very nice on all servers, higher populated servers might help you a bit, but its not a lot of difference.

I think you mean if aditional power through runes affects critical damage.
The answer is yes.
Critical damage is depending on the base damage. Power always increases base damage, so also critical damage. It is the main reason why Beserker is so popular.
a: you hit hard
b: you have a high change of hitting harder
c: if you hit harder your hit a lot harder then you would normally hit hard.

Sorry to keep you a bit in the dark. When fighting hackers, botters and other evil people, it is important for support to keep the methods they use in the dark. For example, if the method you mention is the only method support uses, a skilled hacker could easily ‘spoof’ his IP. Luckely, there are a few dozen of methods and the hackers don’t know what methods Arenanet is using.

Also, from launch till the introduction off the achievements chest I gather bout 3,5k (so in lil less then a year). Since then I climbed up to almost 10k. My only reason is that there is now some reason to get achievements. Before it was just -meh-

So it is a very bad indicator at best.

There is one thing any other major city doesn’t have: A mystic forge.
Soo all your arguments are invalid. due to having ALL services in a single town, it was the most convinient place.

WvW shouldn’t be used as an alternative with all the queues. Even if it is queu less you would risk taking someone elses his place. For all I care the crafting stüations are removed from WvW and placed in gendarran fields instead. Crafting doesn’t belong in WvW, if you want to craft you go to a town!

I just got it on my guardian (level 80, hybrid gear). Still think that if they want lower levels to participate, they need to give them some leanway with the scaling (maybe less participation level required??).

Warrior’s are very good at dealing damage, but many times they need a good guardian to keep them alive.

Warriors are rough damage dealers.
Guardians are more tank-like (remind, this game does not have tanks!) and are better at buffing allies (remind, this game does not have healers!). But they still do very good damage and ar ein my opinion more versatile then warriors and definitly more fun to play (warriors = press 1 ==>yawn ==> win)

I really don’t hear that many people complaining bout ascended. You are one of the few.
The problem is that this isn’t a gear grind. There is not reason whatever to get ascended gear and the benefit is so small it doesn’t matter. The only reason you need to get ascended would be high level fractals. but for the rerst it is totally optional.

If you need ascended to be a good player, you’re not a good player!

As said, almost all MMO’s charge money to transfer worlds. The difference is that they often charge per character to transfer. but you can make new characters on other worlds. Here you have three options.

1: delete all your characters and transfer for free (simular to not paying to transfer your character in those other mmo’s but starting new ones).
2: if you don’t want to delete, you have the option to guest. This works perfectly for everything but WvW, but requires you to start guesting everytime you change character or login.
3: If you really want to permanent change your world (for either WvW or to get rid off the need to select guest everytime) you have to pay.

All in all, this game gives a lot better possibillity’s then other MMO’s

The way domain name resolution works is that mails will be sent to the gmail mailserver anyways, and they ignore the ‘mercuryrocks’ part but just look at the part before the @ to see who the mail is for.

However, for logging in the game you need the full adress:
Ranique-tha-best@mercuryrocks.gmail.com as your account name.

I don’t think anyone can answer that. The announcement bout new legendary weapons and gear was made for the second half of 2013. It is obvious this project got some delay or even is cancelled. There is no new timeframe given so it is unknown how long it will take.

Also, it will be unknown if the procedure of crafting these legendary will be the same or that it e.g. will more be like Eternity.

It all depends on how much you want and like Kudzu. Keep in mind that even if you now buy the newest brand of car, then it won’t be new anymore in less then a month. Nothing can change that.

I’m not making a false accusation here. My friend Thai of Guardian had his account banned for farming risen, his neice was then banned for farming Karka shells in southsun. Southsun gets the banhammer swung around it too much.

Again, You have absolutly no proof so these accusations must be false.

The only people making these kind of accusations are actually the botters. They profit from putting Arenanet in a bad daylight by spreading fear.

If your friend sclaim to be falsly suspended they should make a support ticket. If that doesn’t change the situation they can ask an Arenanet Official for a review. If after that the suspension still stands I’m very very sure that they did what they are accused off.

So what you are saying is breaking the rules you agreed too as well. Guess it’s not just your friends having issues with following rules.

no, the ticket number is a number. it has 6 digits and is in the email you recieved from support.

To get the reward for this one is a bit tricky. There are two things important:

1: never leave the event cricle
2: make sure you kill atleast one enemy.
3: make sure that the moa’s get to the end.

This is what I did:
a: be there in time at the start
b: at the first group of enemy’s pick a regular thats not being attacked by others and kill that one.
c: now escort the moa’s further and make sure you get the agro by spamming skill 1

You recieved an email from support asking you for the error code. You need to respond to that email and give the error code and ask for further assistence.

If you allready did this you have to wait for a reply. Keep in mind that the first reply was likely given by a low level support agent that just checks if cases are complete. So the final answer can take longer then the initial response.

I think the required participation level is way too high.
I was doing this today on my level 65 warrior (level 50 power/precission gear and traited for power and precission). When I arrived 1/6 elite aetherblades where killed. So I started slashing into the first elite I saw there (more then 50% health). When he was down I moved to the another. Everytime I started killing one, that elite had more then 50% health. I helped killing 4/5 elites. All the time I saw the numbers flashing off the damage I was dealing. All had 3 digits, and looking into my combat log I even had a crit of over 4k damage. Still. At the end, No achievement. No event reward, no nothing.

I have no clue what more I can do. Unless you actually expect that everyone is there for the full duration off the event, is a warrior, level 80 and full ascended beserker gear.

Please fix this and gimme my achievement.

You are making some very suspicious claims here. I have been playing since launch and consider myself a very sociable player. I have not seen 1 friend of mine that got suspended for farming. I have seen on rare occassions here some reports of people claiming that they where only farming but where accused of botting. After an Arenanet official stepped and solved the issue, I never had any doubt that a person was wrongly suspended.

Please don’t make these kind of faul accusation

Step 1: Go to the support page on top of this page
Step 2: change if needed the language to france and file a support ticket. This can be written in french
Step 3: Wait for a respons.

I agree, but can you think of any better way? Post for ‘exp only’ sure but you will get 1k AP idiots joining because they think they know what exp is. This includes 5 signet warriors who use rifle when stacking and other terribad examples of their class. Its much safer to impose something like either a gear check or minimum AP. You obviously have some bad experience with groups like this, but ur making us out to be villains or cruel people when we’re not. After you run the same dungeons a couple times u will start to understand why these groups exist (i.e. 80 zerk only, be exp or kick, etc etc.)

As said in other threads, I do AC p3 every day (other dungeons too, but this is my addiction).

Today, as well as the last few days, finding a pug in lfg was hard. So I advertised myself and asked just forlevel 40+.
I had 2 rangers, a necromancer and an engineer (i was guardian). one of the rangers was level 80. so obviously it took more time then usual (not much though). We killed Kohler flawless. We did every single part of the dungeon so i got full reward and drops but more imprtant. eventhough I got the less effective side of the jackpot, I showed some newbe’s how to do the dungeon AND showed of my skills by saving the day numerous times.

I know for most of you asking for 6-7-8-9-20k ap’s you are worried if it takes more then 2 minutes longer, but consider that you are the hero that can save the day??

Yes, asking for AP points in Arah makes sense. I have made demands on guild party’s before I lead them in. but in AC, or any other dungeon your just an elitist snob that don’t understand the game at all.

tl;dr dont ask for ap’s, if you want to be certain you have a good party, play in your guild, if you pug just take the risk and if it is a bad party, enjoy in being the one that can safe the day, cause you are awesome (you are awesome right??)

Your friend needs to submit a ticket (not you). If needed, support also speaks german, spanish and french.

It depends on how you bought the game.
If you bought it directly from Arenanet you got the serial in the mail. but it will be sent to the email you used to buy the account. you can use a different email adress to buy an account compared to what you use to register an account (so you can gift it to someone). Also when you buy a ‘retail’ or ‘boxed’ version you will recieve a box with your serial and still got the last two mails.

Leave the question empty, and tell support you don’t remember the serial and/or lost it.. They will get in contact with you and ask alternative questions. they might sound wierd, but they will determine your account ownership and help you do whatever you need doing..

Actually all maps surrounding lion’s arch (and the balloons provide cheap travel). the beauty is that it drops in many area’s

Copper: 1-15 area’s
Iron: 15-55 area’s
platinum: 55-65
mithril: 65-80
orichalcum: 80
So half of the area’s got iron nodes and it fits perfectly in your level.

Best is to find rich iron nodes, unfortunally they keep changing.

I have seen that in forrest and grass area’s you will find a lot of plants and tres but not a lot of ore’s. In hill-side/mountain area’s, in caves and in swamps, or underwater area’s you find a lot of ore.

I know there are counters to it and I use it whenever reasonable. But being knocked back or whatever and having to wait till you can do some good is really annoying!
