Devs never answer here. The reason is that this is the suggestion forum. A long time I heard the reason has to do with possible copyright claims. If they comment on a suggestion the owner could claim copyright. So don’t expect an answer when commenting here.
Also in other sections off the forum they will likely not answer this. The reason is that they dont tell much bout the long term strategy. The likely answer is that the devs prolly dont know it yet either.

moving can avoid damage but not all.
Many spells are projectiles, but they move fast, the most efficient way is to dodge them, bu by moving you can mostly not prevent from being hit, but you can prevent it to be a critical hit (you need to be full hit to hit critical, causing a glance will never be critical afaik). Als it is obvious that walking out of a red circle also helps a lot.
So if possible try to dodge, but if you know the enemy well and want to save your dodges for harder blows later on, or when you used your dodges, then simply moving away is a good but lesser alternative.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
As you can see here the Ranger gets more hate then most other professions. My thoughts are that this is partly because the class is too forgiving. With all classes you learn to dodge early on. With the ranger however you have a nice pet to tank for you. This leads to problems later on. What would your advice be when leveling up to have a good understanding off the class and still learn the important basics off the game?

I udnerstand it is important to be out of combat when waypointing to another place. But it is also very annoying when you start to look where your going and something respawns on your back and start attacking you, so you have to close map, kill/run away, open map again, find the right waypoint and re-click.
So my suggestion is to prevent that.
If you select a waypoint while in combat you get an errormessage saying that you are in combat. Do you want to travel here as soon as you are out of combat?
If you answer yes you will automaticly go there when you are out of combat (leaving any loot behind)

If you want an answer read these threads, they provide a lot of criticisms on Living story:

Critism doesnt mean it tells what to change. I am pretty sure that any dev can tell you that it is impossible to please each and everyone in the game. The most important thing is that they make decisions. Each decision can be something we like or dislike. So just linking some threads to people that dislike certain decisions is not helpfull. The team absolutly saw them.
Maybe you would like to try to explain what you want to see regarding to the living story. My contribution so far has been some very old post moved here (but I still stahnd behind the thought), a more general post bout the story and what is good and wrong bout it in my point of view and a post bout fixing the reward system so people both with more then enough playtime and people with limited playtime both can enjoy the story. So try to do the same. What do you like bout the living story? What do you dislike? What would you change if you where a dev? what would you do to please as many people as possible?
Colin asked bout my favourite TV-show. I like many shows but on of my favourites was Lost. What I liked bout it was the surealism and philosophic base they worked on.

1: I’m not sure, but I think the purple globe also appears for other effects then chaos armor and it prolly has to do with traits.
2: the total makeover kit let you change hair, face, face details, colours, build and hight.
3: Almost all gems in the game have to be bought with real life money. So all gems you can buy with gold are bought for real money by another person. The price is a matter of supply and demand. So if more people are buying gems with real money and selling them for gold the price will drop and if more people are buying them with gold the price will go up.
(the only exception are the gems that are given for certain achievement chests).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
This has been discussed many times and explained many times. It has to do with balance. the price off wood, food and ore is reasonably in balance. Wood is less available, but also has a lower demand. So is ore needed in almost all weapon and armor recipes. Wood is only needed in some weapon recipes. So there is no need for rich sources of wood.

I disagree that this is a bug. Anet decided to put living story content in WvW, so it is clearly as intended. This doesnt mean you have some valid arguments why this is not desired. This is in my opinion the wrong place to discuss it. WvW section or livings story section would be more appropiate.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The trick to soloing champs is to know the champion. Take the troll in Queensdale. It is very rare to kill him solo these days but there was a time that it was different. On my guardian I deal a lot more damage when going melee, but thats where I get hit hard. The trick there is to get into melee range, give him lots off DPS and keep yourself alive till all your healskills are worn out. Then you change to ranged and simply kite him till your healskills are up again and you repeat the process. This takes roughly 2-3 rounds till he is dead.
The oak however has a very different technique. There the trick is to sstand under him. If your ranged he puts roots on you. if your close he knocks you back. But if you stay under him he is totally harmless. Off course he doesn’t want you to be under him so you have to move with him.
So to answer your question, there is no build or class that is good at solo-ing champions. You have to learn and understand each and every champion and prepare your build for each off them.

Each armor piece is made out of three parts
1: the skin (how it looks)
2: the stats (how it works)
3: the upgrade component (runes).
Most armors come with a preset combination. You can use however a transmutation stone to combine the skin of one piece with the stats of another.
There are also some pieces that are only a skin. Those are mostly sold in the gemstore. This is a consumable item that let you change the skin off an existing armor piece. After that the skin is tied to to that armor piece and you can apply that skin again to another armorpiece. However, you can get a transmutationstone to transfer the skin to another piece of armor.
To make matters more confusing. There are armor skins you unlock for your account and you can get unlimited copy’s off. This is the case with the achievement points rewards and the Hall of monuments rewards.
Best is to give an exact example of what you want and ask how it in that example would work.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
As this is a lot bout the release speed.
There is a lot of discussion bout this. The main problem in my opinion is that not everyone spents the same amount off time, but too many people are afraid to miss a thing. I am currently ‘between jobs’. This means I spent bout 8 hours per day online (would be more, but I’m restraining myself).
The current living story that started less then 24 hours ago is almost done for me. When the game came out I still had a job and was restricted to 3 hours per day to play.
So I do think that the living story should be rewarding/interesting for people regardless off playtime, but it should not only serve the people with less time but also those with enough time.
My suggestion would be to add more rewards. lets take a living story that rewards a mini for example. Dragonbash would be a good example. You might remember the miniatures that dropped.
If you do 4 of the living story achievements you get a Mini Holographic Branded Minotaur.
If you do another 4 (different set off) achievements you get a Mini Holographic Axe-Wielding Destroyer.
for the 3d set of 4 achievements you also get a Mini Holographic Corrupted Wolf
for the 4th set of 4 achievements you get a Mini Holographic Risen Knight
If you get all achievements you can choose to put them all 4 in the mystic forge and get Mini Holographic Colossus.
This way hopefully people will feel less forced to do all achievements. Due to grouping the achievements in sets of 4, people can pick what reward they want. For the people like me, with more time we get an additional reward and motivation to do everything.
This could also work for e.g. the mining node in the home instance. For doing 4 halloween achievements you get a candy corn node. For doing all halloween achievements you get it upgraded to a rich candy corn node.
I’m not saying that it has to be a minuature or a node in the home instance, but I am saying that doing a small bit off the living story should be as rewarding as doing everything.
Last remark is that everyone should be able to finish the living story. In that I mean they should be allowed to know how it ends regardless off how much time you put into it.
For example clockwork chaos as it was:
The Queen did her speech, then people needed to do a lot of grinding to find out how it ended. Then people needed to do a lot off grinding before they could go into the the playhouse to find out how it ended. as a lousy fix you made it so that people could join in with someone who did this. This kind of independence is annoying to people. Instead you could release the content over time.
Day 1: The queens speech – first reward
Day 3: The asura emmisary gives out his device and sents the players to start the investigation – second reward. This part is optional.
Day 5: The investigation is done, now the emmisary needs parts for his portal device. – third reward. This part is optional.
Day 7: The portal device is ready and we can enter the playhouse.
So even if you didnt do anything the portal device will be working for you. All parts can be done later on. So you can decide to skip, and later find time and still do that part.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
1st off all, thanks for doing this. I really really appreciate it.
Second though is to not only look at the discussion here. Many people who like what you are doing are not writing on the the forum and are only dissapointed when you steer away from what they enjoy. I worked for customer service for a phone company. 99.9% off the people taking the time to contact the company where dissattisfied with something. Still only 2% off the customers ever contacted the company.
So before drawing any conclusions my first advise would be to have an ingame survey.
Discussions both in mapchat and in my guild indicate a totally different view regarding Scarlet then you get out here. an ingame survey would lead to a good view off what ALL of the community wants and not only those that complain.
Personally I like most things bout the living story and yes I like Scarlet and dont udnerstand why people hate her. She wasnt dropped on us. her existance was hinted a long time ago, but too many people dont even read mails they are getting (Eir after flame and frost, indicated that someone was behind this alliance) or listen to in game conversations (First time the name Scarlet was dropped was during the first Aetherblade dungeon by Mai Trin). The first part off the queens jubilee clearly indicated we where going to meet this scarlet and then 2 weeks later she was there. So it was very cleverly done.
My tips for the living story are:
1: No more backpacks or make all current ones skins in the achievement pane. I have actually been picking the PvP-skins off the last two backpacks for the simple reason that I wanted to preserve the skin as proof off my participation, but I dont have any characters that had room for a backpack.
2: More special themed maps like Bazaar, Queens pavillion and labyrinth. Those maps where all very much fun and very active. If you re-use them please make them different. I could imagine that e.g. the bazaar would turn into a battle between aetherblades and merchants and we have to help out the merchants.
3: More clear communication. Many people where disappointing when the TA-overall achievement dissapeared. This is not the first time. I would suggest a timer in the achievement like the daily/monthly timer, indicating how much time you have left.
So far for my 2 cents.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
no, too much complications with cultural armor (it gives titles to get all pieces, and it is soulbound for a reason). Yes you could easily say that using a race change will remove any cultural armor (but not the achievement count). But no matter how many warnings you stick on it, people will start complaining that they lost it without realising.
Story is even more complicated. Replaying story is a huge advantage cause you get rewards again, so that would be totally out of balance. Besides that it wouldnt make sense to suddenly have a wrong race for what is ‘your story’.
Also the alternate solution is very simple, reroll your character with the right race
The last reason to say no is the way that some people (not you) have been behaving here over a simular suggestion.

The good old magic find debate is very old. I personally think that for level 75-80 greens and blues the amount off money lost isn’t worth the amount of magic find gained. Specially cause I get my magic find up in a slower pace.
I got 9 characters. 4 level 80’s and 5 leveling characters. The characters I’m leveling all salvage the greens and blues for magic find. The level 80’s sell it all. This way I have a steady increase of magic find without loosing too much off my current income off gold.
Someone calculated that it costs bout 3500 gold to max MF if you buy the salvagable items (including profit from the leftovers. This also means you waste roughly the same amount when you salvage your drops. It will take a lot off time to make that amount off profit out of the 300% MF.

1: Class stability. Some classes are considered more OP then others. This is a lot less then people in those threads claim it to be. There is a big difference between OP and being more difficult to master. e.g. the warrior is a very easy press 1 and win class at the moment, but with a bit of effort, any other class can be nearly as good. The issue is nearly, but that means the warrior will likely get nerfed sooner or later.
2: There is no end game content. At any level it is possible to join in WvW. Just choose one of the maps and find a zerg (blue commandor icon on the map). Dungeons and fractals is a little bit different. Due to the small groups and high challenge, many groups prefer level 80 only players. But it is possible to find a group at lower levels.
Living world is a bit strange at start. You can use an external guide: dulfy.net
3: No community is perfect. The same goes for GW2. The game however is designed so it is promoting good behaviour instead of bad behaviour. No need to tag a boss first, you cant steal a kill and everyone who participated in an event gets a reward. This leads to a friendlier community allready even with a lot of former WoW players around. As well as a zero tolerance policy by both the community and the GM’s.

Hi,
Support has tasked themselfes to answer all tickets within 72 hours.
At the moment they are in he process to change the support site and prolly also the ticket system. This means that they likely have some delay. However this doesnt change the fact that you have to wait 72 hours at max. If you didnt got a reply within that time there is something wrong. By posting your ticketnumber then in the designated sticky you can let Anet know that something went wrong when handling your ticket. Good Luck!

Hi Silken,
I disagree with you, but before giving the arguments I first want to point out the LFG-tool (press Y). This is incredible helpfull in finding a group for that dungeon.
I know what the real issue is and that is that this is too sudden. All dungeons are designed to make storymode part of the overall story. You actually have two main story’s: The personal story and the story told in dungeons. These 2 lines come together in Arah storymode.
However, the design of the dungeon is made that it is more then challenging to do them on the recommended level. Therefor most people dont even try (you wont find a team) and they concentrate on the personal story only.
Then all off a sudden these two merge all the way at the end. So Yeah I can udnerstand that many people are dissapointed. However this is an MMO and I think that it is important that the original idea behind it should be fixed.
So my solution is to make all story mode dungeons part off the personal story. So after meeting destiny’s edge in LA you must do ascalonian catacombs. To make this possible they should nerf the story mode dungeons big time so it is actually doable for a party with 5 level 30’s (and with doable I mean without spending 50 silver on armor repairs).
This way you get the full experience off the story, and you are introduced early on in an important feature in the game called dungeons.

As you might or might not remember in GW1 there was a ‘design a weapon’ contest. The weapons that where chosen had some of the popular designs in the game.
The system was very simple. You design conceptpart for a new weapon, and anet picks the best 3 submissions and actually develops it into a weaponskin.
I would like to see this back for GW2.
The reason is that I like the style off the team and what they make, but it is starting to be more off the same. Such a contest can help to find refreshing idea’s that promotes also ‘out of the box’ thinking for the dev-team
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I’m not going to comment on all the negativism here. I think that support is doing a good job (good, not perfect).
As for the old vs the new support site.
Basicly what changed is the FAQ questions have been replaced in the submit ticket proces.
It was:
1: go to site
2: submit a ticket
3: recieve a wall off text (FAQ’s)
4: if your answer isn’t in it let them know
5: your ticket is being handled by an agent
It is now:
1: go to the site
2: read a wall of text (FAQ’s)
3: realise it doesnt help you and submit a ticket
4: get confirmation
5: you ticket is being handled by an agent
So basicly only the sequence is changed (although I havent submitted a ticket with the new site and dont think I should when I don’t need support)
However, I do think that the old system was friendlier to the player. It was more inviting to submit a ticket and shows Arenanet is open to recieve them.
The down site however is that people wont read the faq’s anymore if they reached the point that they want an agent to answer them.
One possible solution is a bit of education to the players. I’ve done this in my real life job and it worked pretty well.
If a ticket comes through that can be resolved by reading the wall of text, the agent very kindly only answers with a direct link to the text. He will also reply that if he has trouble opening the link the customer can also find it by going to the support site, clicking option A, then B then C.
The trick is to not say outloud that the customer should have read the faq’s, but you do point them to the faq.

Each armor piece only has one main, and two secondary stats (1 on lower levels).
However it is possible to mix two different stats types. So e.g. on chest, head and shoulders you could use power as main stat and toughness as a secondary stat. On the gloves, pants and shoes you can use toughness as your main and power as the second.
Triple stats are available from level 60 and up. till then you have to do with dual stats.
It seems that the combo you need doesnt exist as a dual stat.
So yes it is only available on higher levels (60+). What you want then is a mix off knights armor ( toughness – power – precission) and Soldiers (power – toughness – vitality). Keep in mind that soldiers can only be bought with tokens from WvW or dungeons.
Till then I would advise on going for rejuvinating stats (healing power + power).
Combine that with the adept alchemy trait: ‘Self regulating defense’. If you are then below 25% health and get a hit you automaticly drink elixer S. This shrinks you for 3 seocnds and makes you invulnerable. But also much more important, it recharges your healing skill. This means you can heal yourself twice shortly after eachother. Combined with +healing power this makes up for the loss of touchness. It is for me the reason I don’t use toughness on my engineer but this mechanic + healing power.

The eventzerg in Straits is basicly dead. For some unknown reasons they changed the chain making it so that all events happen at the same time.
Most people changed to Frost Gorge sound for the champtrain there. The reason is another change where champions drop a lootbox. This contains several items including exotic weapons and t6 mats. It is called a train cause they go around the map to visit all champs one by one. when the last is killed the first is (almost) up.
A simular thing exist in Queensdale. Depending on each of the timers that one goes like this:
Troll (vale waypoint)
Oak (phinney waypoint)
Spider (north off hunting lodge)
Boar (south off hunting lodge and also longest waitingpoint, so best place to wait for the train to hop on)
Though I dont recommend it to new players (it gives a lot of experience, so you miss too much) it might be a good thing for you, cause you are not fully new.

I agree it is harmfull but it is also a client-related issue. so it would be better to ask a mod to move this to the technical support section. Those people can help on identifying the issue, tell you how to solve it on your computer or help anet to make a decent solution on their side.

when transmutating you can combine three elements off 2 different weapons
1: the skin, This includes everything that has to with how it looks/glows/act in skills/etc
2: the stats, this include anything to do with what stats it has, what colour it has, what you can do with it.
3: the upgrade component.
So when you transmutate the skin of weapon x over a legendary, you loose all effects how it looks, but it still has the stats, the colour and possibillity to change stats.

I am also an altholic. But i think a different kind. I really like being helpfull. But joining on a level 40 personal story with a level 80 full gear alt isnt challenging for me and it isnt helpfull either (I assist in the story but dont want to do all the work). So I try to join on alt that is bout the same level and maybe even need it.
Besides that I dont believe it is or should be a rush to level 80. I want to take my time and enjoy myself.
I also agree that doing the same low level explorer content is a bit boring if you do it too often, so I try to have enough time between the alts so it is all refreshing again.
That is why I only have 4 level 80’s, 4 alts that are somewhere between level 30 and 50 (at the moment) and 1 trash character slot for trying new things or for just plain keyfarming.
So take your time and enjoy the process. Specially if you have a level 80 you can use for dungeons/wvw

Labyrinth is awesome, but the lack off events and the fact that the map is small makes that DR kicks in pretty soon. Trick is to recognise it when it happens, go back to queensdale, do the train for 30 minutes and then hop back into the labyrinth again till you notice the dr kicks in.

First off all why??
Why do you want to start your own guild??
If any off the answers is because it is cool/i wont to lead/etc any other selfish reason then dont. A good guildleader needs to invest a lot of time and indeed money in a guild.
Even then it is hard to start your own guild. Most servers have very established guilds of all sizes. so why should people join yours?
To do that you need to be unique. So ask yourself what do I have to offer that is unique. If you can offer something interesting and unique you will find members and you will get influence.

Some side notes
Same looks
It is possible to have 2 identical weaponsets where the weapons look the same. This results will be that in PvP/WvW it is hard to guess what your oponents moves can be and if you dont see the weaponswap you can be surprised with a total new set off skills.
Elementalist
Ele’s have attunements. For each slot they can choose between two skills for each attunement. Besides that there will be a 5th bonus attunement. This attunement (f5) will have the possibillity to combine 5 skills from all 4 attunements. Any attunement trait effect will not work on this bonus attunement. This set can have the same skills (advantage is that you can change to it while the first is on cooldown) or totally different skills then the other 4 attunements.
So for each skillslot ele’s choose 5 skills, 4 for the normal attunements and 5 for the bonus attunement (where you can combine fire, air, water and earth skills but where attunement traits dont apply). (note some utility skills need to be reworked, if you are e.g. attuned to the bonus attunement and you use glyph of lesser elementals you summon one of the four elementals, wich one is then random)
Transmutation stones
Using a transmutationstone (name of the item should change) will first ask if you want to transmutate a weaponsskin or if you want to break a weaponset. if you choose to transmutate the effect is like your used to. If you want to break a weaponset you can drag a weaponset to the window and you are asked if you want to break it. For transmutating the rule of level 79 or below stays, but for breaking a weaponset that doesnt apply. Breaking a set will give back the original two weapons (soulbound or account bound), ready to be used again for a new weaponset with new skills.
Legendary weaponsets
If you equip a legendary weapon for a legendary weaponset you get a few advantages.
a: when making the legendary weaponset, if you use a 1h legendary weapon then regardless what the other weapon is, it will have the looks of that weapon, but it will have level 80 ascended stats just like the legendary So even if it is a level 1 white dagger, if you combine it with incinerator you will have a legendary weaponset with ascended stats and the other legendary benefits. The result will be called a legendary weaponset.
b: Upon doubleclicking alegendary weaponset you not only can select the stats (of both weapons) but also the skills. The only requirement is that you have to be out of combat to do so.
This will make wielding 2 legendary’s purely cosmetic. but will balance the difference between 1h and and 2h legendary weapons (atm a 1 handed as as difficult to get as a 2 handed legendary, this advantage makes up for that).
Pro’s
Beside the side effect the most important is that a player gets a lot more control over the skillbar and the skills. But this control dont get so far that balancing becomes an issue.
It also means that you can swap from one greatsword to another greatsword and have totally different skills.
Con’s
For a new player it is harder to understand. This can be countered a little bit with making starter weapons a starter weaponset (so you dont have to worry bout it from the start, but also with good help-balloons.
It is harder to see what build someone is running by just looking at his/her weapon.
Comments??
Please tell me what you think bout my solutions to make weaponskills more exiting and versatile without risking to make it too difficult to balance.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I heard some suggestions recently to change weaponskills. the most important two is to throw it open that you can choose all your weaponskills from a poll just like your utility skills or two make different lines of skill for the same weapon you can choose between.
First off all I agree that at the moment it is too boring. Specially cause some classes are being really pushed to a single weapon
Throwing it fully open would be too dramatic for balancing things.
So I have a system in mind called Weaponsets.
What is a weaponset?
A weaponset is created in two way.
single weaponset are created by doubleclicking a newly acquired 2 handed weapon that is suitable for your class. You get a message warning you that this action makes it soulbound and if you are sure. Upon doing so it changes to an empty weaponset. More bout that later
combined weaponsets are created by doubleclicking a newly acquired 1 hand weapon. then you get a popup box aking you to drag a second weapon there (if you clicked an offhand only weapon then you can only add a main hand weapon and off course it most be suitable for your class). After making the set again your warned that this makes it soulbound and if your are sure. The result will be an empty weaponset.
Important to note here is that this will be 1 item. If you hover over it you see both weapons and stats of both weapons but it only takes one slot in your inventory.
In you hero screen you can now only equip weaponsets.
Equipping an empty weaponset
On equiping an empty weaponset you get a popup window asking you to select skills (1-5). Each slot have 3 different and unique options. wich ones depends on the weapon or weapons in the weaponset. (using a scepter will give three unique options for the scepter on your class, so yes this basicly means there will be 3 times as many weaponskills in total).
You can combine them as much as you want, just remember, each slot let you choose between 3 skills, the end result will be that you weaponset is very unique with 243 possible combinations. when done you click apply. You get a warning that this is permanent. After this the weapon is equiped in the weaponsetslot.
unequipping a weaponset
If you unequip a weaponset it will stay with the selected skills, they are part now off the set. If your re-equip them the same chose skills are back.
alt+clicking a weaponset means you open up a read only menu showing the different skill without needing to equip it. you can also nick name the weaponset so you can easily remember which one it is (e.g. ‘my condition daggers’)

Yes,
The item that comes out of the forge is a new items (the forge doesnt upgrade anything, but technically it destroys the items you put in it and gives a new item as a reward).
This item is in this case accountbound (soulbound on equip)

Well, just say that I would be offended as a lore lover if they would be tied to the 6 gods.
The char have no gods! (as we know from gw1)
The Norn believe in the spirits of the wild
The Silvari live according to their dream and Ventari’S tablet
The Asura’s believe in the eternal alcehemy. The ancient statues are all placed there by humans. the other races dont deny the ‘gods’ being powerfull but they just dont see them as gods.
Thats why it would be offensive to go that way. Thinking bout it that way, having lore neutral names and backgrounds for them makes sense.

a waddle to remember,
behind the mask
jackaloping along
all these are achievable. Though it all three need to find the skritt burglar chest. I stumble upon one bout once every month. Camping places where it can spawn is effective but also very boring.
The historical achievements are historical and cant be achieved.
a season of growth
bloodying the past
branching out
for the legion
from howl to silence
walking from the nightmare
Yes you can if you have a free characterslot. I’m not sure in how much of a hurry you are but what I did was that I used a dedicated characterslot. Made a new character (of the right race and choose the right options) and leveled it a bit to level 3. Then I waited till it was daily story completionist for the daily and i did the step and leveled till the next storystep. This till I got the storylines closed for that character, then I dleted and started over for a new one.
Off course you dont have to combine it with the story completionist and speed things up a bit

Hi UC,
First off all no to the reference to the 6 gods. These are human gods, and it wouldnt make sense for a char to be wielding Grenths greatsword.
Also, 114 is too many. The power off the löegendaryis that they took a lot of time to design them, make them detailed, make the effects detailed, give them special animations and so. This would be impossible with such an amount of weapons to have such an amount of details (keep in mind many off the legendary’s still have some minor bugs in the animations and we are a year in).
I would say to limit it to three weapons per weapontype. So the same as greatswords. Two legendary’s and one ‘super’ legendary you can make by combining the first two.

Hi,
First off all, if this has been given, please tell me where. I’ve searched and couldn’t find it.
I would like one of the devs to explain what the motivation is behind the drop in amount of karma your getting.
You always say (and act that way) that you want to be transparent in your communications. But on this I am not seeing the logic behind it. On one hand you decrease the amount of karma your getting for numerous things. On the other hand you also make the rewards less valuable (karma can be used to buy up to exotic gear, with the introduction of ascended gear being halfway, that exotic gear is becoming less important and valuable.
So I’m extremely curious bout the reasoning behind it.
Thanks for your answer.
To the community also reading this. I would like to ask to not make this in a discussion whether or not the actions are good or bad. I have my own opinion, but I would like to understand the decision. There are many thing I think that Anet is doing right, and some things they are doing wrong in my opinion. But I always understood why they are making a decision. In this case I don’t understand it and that makes it very hard to actually tell whether I like it or not.
Please feel free to show me where, if this is already answered.
Also if you agree (or disagree) with asking a dev to explain it, feel free to express that.

Also it seems you have autodetected settings on. It is my personal experience that on low grade systems this option is a bit conservative. So you can always try to use higher settings. Just do one at a time and then play a bit if the result looks better.

Ascended weapons: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_weapon (browse through to the different ones, basicly all weapons have the same look, but the stats decide the colours off the weapons (off course you can sue transmuatation crystals if you want e.g. a beserker (zojja’s) Claymore (greatsword) but instead of coloured red you want to colour it white.
To craft them you need to be a level 500 weaponcrafter. Assuming you allready are level 400, the cheaper/longer way to do this is to:
1: farm mats and (re-)discover exotic weapons till you are level 450
2: farm ascended mats and ingredients and craft ascended half products till you are level 500.
3: get recipe and craft the ascended weapon with the required mats.
You can instead of farm, also buy many off the raw materials (not the ascended ones though)
You can continue step one after level 450 to skip step 2, but this has two important downpoints.
a: it costs more raw materials that you need to farm and use or buy
b: The half products are also needed to make your ascended weapon when you are level 500.

if you got no interest in wvw it doesnt matter which world you are on, you can always just guest another one and the lfg tool (top left corner 2nd option) finds you people for dungeons etc across all servers
two small exceptations
1: annoyance cause you have to setup up the guest very time again when you relog
2: Guilds influence isnt shared across servers as well as having benefit from the influence or being able to help during puzzle/rush (you can participate and you will get your reward when your guesting to your guilds main server, but it doesnt count for the 15 people needed to cross the line for the guild reward).
But guesting is perfect for trying out/waiting till you have the resource to pay for a transfer.
Also a good moment to explain the option of a free transfer.
This means some sacrifices though.
1: place all your valuables in the bank (except soulbound items, these will be lost).
2: delete all your characters.
3: transfer for three.
4: start all over with new characters.

One of Vallun’s guildmates here. If this guy is a bot we’re all doomed, because they could outplay just about all of us. Please unban him, we need him for GvG tomorrow.
Please don’t raise support to someones elses issue. It is against the forum rules. Doing so can lead to annoyance by the people reviewing the case and can actually have a negative impact.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Well personally I hate people showing off. I personally like to dress up my characters and make my own choices there. I want to be outstanding cause I have a special look, not just what everyone else has.

please change, horrible armors are horrible
Ever heard off Transmutation crystals??
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Indeed,
On a first character it is recommended to renew your armor every 15 levels. So make sure you finish two zones in those 15 levels to get 6 transmutation stones.
Towns also reward 3 of these stones. So you can get 18 off them by exploring all the 6 major city’s
The transmutation crystals for your final armor set are a bit more rare. You can buy them on the TP for gems (gems youcan buy with real money or with gold). but it is expensive. It is also a rare reward for daily rewards and opening black lion chests.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Only weapons and accessory’s
No armor. However, through datamining they did found the preview codes for the skins.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1njf9o/new_ascended_armor/
Keep in mind that this is found in the game through dat-file mining. This means it isnt officially released and might change before the release.

Hi Mofogie,
The filter works in a way that words are also ‘kittened’ when they are inside a word. to prevent that to happen to normal words, they have to get an exception. you can report those words in this subforum:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/forum
Best way to bypass the filter is to use a -’- to make the offended part not being
For example
I would want this game to be less’ boring to prevent it turning into ‘kittenoring’
On topic
I disagree actually with the need of a latency bar.
Those that can investigate lag issues, dont really need such a bar. For those who need investigation to solve issues such a bar often give false information. Too many people don’t even know the difference between network lag and graphical lag, while judging the game on bad pings.
So for me it is totally not needed. But offcourse, as an optional thing it would be ok. But to prevent people less technical skilled to draw false conclusions it would be best to have it as a command line argument.

Also you can do the main storyline for this years halloween (it is for level 80, but you will get bumped up to that level and it is not really hard unless you want the speedy achievement). For this go to the black citadel (charr home town) and find the yellow star.
