There is not an issue here with CS and there is a pretty good system in place.
Whenever you log in from a strange location you are automatically locked out and an email is sent to you to confirm that you are the accountholder. In the email is a link you have to click and after that you new location is added as a trusted location. Keep in mind that it sometimes takes several minutes for this email to be sent to you.

Through this website (my accounts) you can remove locations again when you not visiting them any more.
You can also start using the mobile authentication. This replaces the function of the e-mail and is basicly a mobile app (iphone, android or windows mobile) that generates a code you have to provide on your computer.

Just to stress out. This error message wasn’t cause by Arenanet. It isnt an issue with your (perfect) pc.

To play an mmo-rpg data has to be sent over the internet.The internet is a giant web of connections between computers. Your internetprovider is responsable for the route a certain connection is taking. this route is as strong as the weakest link. So if your provider decided to relay your signal through a steam powered engine somewhere in the icy steps of Syberia you can get into problems.

IU’m not saying that it is never a problem at arenanet. but don’t point fingers. If there is a problem at the side of arenanet you can expect threads popping up in all sections of this forum, all with multiple reply’s as well as panicking gamers on fan websites, social media etc.

Also understand the way a suspension (rightfull or wrongfull) happens.
Step 1: your account gets flagged suspicious. This sounds terrible, but it isn’t. The reason can be that you have been reported (most likely the case if you are advertising for goldselling or offending people) or cause you did something an automated system marked as suspiucious (e.g. cause bots do simular things).

A gm reviews all accounts that are flagged suspicious. This is never done right away but then range can take between several to even months. Several minutes happens e.g. if 25 people have been reporting you for advertising gold selling. Then they react really quick. Several months if they want to gather more information on how you are doing illegal activity’s.

In your case the suspicious flag was prolly raised several hours up to a few days before the actual suspension. Suspensions are very rarely given for the thing you where doing right at that moment. So it might have nothing to do with you farming scales but something you where doing yesterday.

All suspensions are being reviewed by GM’s. There has been some critising bout the amount of false positives (what was the case here) and Arenanet has promised to start an internal discussion to review all processes involved.

I’m glad all has been settled and don’t worry farm as many scales a day you like jsut as long as you dont use bots for it.

This is not Arenanet’s fault. You got robbed and you asked the insurance company to replace your stuff, they did, but you didnt even check your wardrobe if the burglar was really gone.

I know that Arenanet advises you strongly to get your security back up before asking for account restoration. and they also warn you it can only be done once.

Just to add on this. I had some time to dig around and can confirm that it is very likely to be Asuran. After going there I went to do some daily while i was around. First off all, on the north west side of the ruins on top of the edge of the map (wich you can’t reach) there are some more ruins with the familiar shapes of triangles. indicating the complex was rather big. I went into the north easter direction and reached the southern entry to Quandry Scratch to find that this too had those same asuran ruins. as well as elements in the cave system as well.

I don’t think that this was a forgotten branch of Asura’s. Besides that Quandry Scratch could be used as an entry to the Depths of Tyria, there is also remnants of an asura gate near the ruins possibly indicating access directly to the transferchamber.

So I do think that this settlement cause of the size, the gate and nearby caverns was known to the asurans back then. The reason they are forgotten now remains unclear.

What is interesting is that in Quandry Scratch is a asuran consule. in the heart there you can tamper with it to get 3 inquest blueprints. Indicating that this was indeed an early inquest base or that this was visited by the inquest more recently. The first indicates that the inquest is older then we so far suspected. The second is indicating there is (or was) something important bout these ruins.

As in every dungeon you can skip many adds, but you have to fullfill all tasks that appear in green in the top right corner.

So in this case you needed to kill Fight Zadorojny and his elite guard. If you skipped him without him triggering you better head back in the hope he triggers. If he is stuck then you shouldnt have tried skipping a main objective.

Bottom line: not a bug.

Access to the game is a free service. What is basicly given is free access to a server (wich is private property). Cause your not paying for the server, Anet can never be forced to deliver the service. The things your talking bout is bout games with a monthly fee. It has happens that people people where paying a monthly fee in advance and they froced the company through a trial to repay the rest of the monthly fee.

If your not paying for a service you don’t have legal rights to recieve that service.

If using cotton swabs. You can touch all cooling elements with it, but make sure you don’t apply pressure. The cooling elements are often attached to the most sensitive and most expensive parts. Also make sure you have the power of the computer unplugged.
Also make sure you discharge yourself of static electricity. Best way to do this is by touching metal pipes for example of your homes central heating system or water system. You can also use the computer casing for this but the result is lesser.

The problem might be that your cpu cooler is not doing the job. I often see (specially with AMD) that the if you buy a CPU-box (CPU with a cooler from AMD) those coolers are very minimal and limited. A decent CPU cooler isn’t expensive.

As for the OP’s question. The origin of the humans is somewhat clouded. The most important thing is that it is an origin story wich we have in real life as well.
They are often told from generation to generation before they where even written down and also often are part of believing in it rather then accepting it as an historic fact. Most humans now-a-days learn at school that darwin was right and that the first chapter of the bible isn’t the historic version of the origin of humans on the planet earth. This doesn’t mean the first chapter of the bible is worseless. Besides the symbolism, it marks in my personal believe the origin of the God fearing humans, marking the moment we first embrased the love of God. Mark me, this is a personal view and not a fact.

Now to Tyria. The origin of humans is somewhat clouded. The historic version is that there have been humans in Cantha longer then there has been humans in Tyria (continent). But the influence of the 6 gods is much less there and even though they have statues there, the most relgious part is bout the celestial beings and the worship of ancestors. So it seems to me that the 6 gods are infused in an allready existing alternate religion. More important, the presence of the 6 gods in Cantha seems to me insignificant and more causet it is good for commerce.

So it looks like that there where humans in Cantha before there where humans in Tyria (continent), but where the humans in Tyria believe they where brought there by the 6 Gods through the mists, the Canthans don’t believe that (or so it seems).

Now we know the mists are real (or as real as it can be in a fantasy world) and there is proof that the God’s are indeed powerfull entity’s. So it is very much possible that the humans of Tyria (the continent) where brought there through the mists. But where they came from is unknown. It is very much possible they came from other parts of Tyria (world) and for some reason their memory’s where whiped. Bottom line in all origin story’s they are often used to describe the uniqueness off the culture and to outline how important they are. So more a product of self esteem then of reality.

I disagree with your troubles and it might come because you only have played all of GWW1 and not all of gw2 has been revealed.

The driving force behind the charr’s motives in GW1 wasn’t fully revealed till Nightfall. Untill then all we knew was that the driving force where the titans. We only found out that the person behind all of the events in prophecy’s and factions was Abadon untill we got nightfall.

The main difference in my opinion between gw1 and gw2 is that the motives aren’t as straight forward and black and white as in gw2.

The nightmare court again has many layers. Again and it isn’t black and white. Where the nightmare court was started as a political movement out of disagreement with the ‘sackles’ of Ventari’s tablet. They have developped into a violent terroristic group. The OP is in my opinion not talking bout one poi for world completion, but everytime he does a single map he ends up missing 1 poi to get map completion and wants tips on how to prevent that.

With that said, it’s theoretically possible that your PC is clean and there could be an issue with the history reporting of the email service you are using. Which email provider are you using (don’t post your email address here)?

When you changed your password, did you change it to something that was VERY different from your previous password?

Those tools can be used but they are only capable of removing the more simple malware. I have used those tools to help people get rid of malware and have given up cause I could remove them manually better and faster then they could. They miss a lot and are not scanning very deep and are easily to be tricked.

I think the OP truly needs to be sure his PC is safe again and isn’t up for trying a lot of solutions that might or might not work. Thats why I adviced him to go directly to the ultimate action that should solve it

As IC said, the person who got hacked needs to file a support ticket. If confirmed he has been hacked, support will help this person getting control over the account again and help the person to review his/her computer security. Once that is done the person can ask for an account restoration (roll back). restoring his account to the way it was before.

Support doesnt provide a rollback for the guildbank nor the lost influence.
I do want to say this hacker is the reall scum. Removing the things being build. There is no profit for the hacker, just griefing a guild. This is considered not done even among hackers.

In one of the guilds I was in we had a very good practise. Only officers and the leader had the right to go into the lower two tabs of the guildbank. This is where the good stuff was being stored. If member wanted something they could ask an officer and got it mailed to them. To make sure everyone knew an officer was online, they where required to say hello when to come online and bye when going off. If an officer didnt do that he/she would promply be pm-ed to remind him her. If there is no reply out of pre-caution he would get demoted to new member untill we got in contact again.

It happens to me often as well. Even when I did maps in a group we often ended up missing one or two. a few things that help:
a: whenever you complete a task look back. the map shows with dotted lines where you went. Did you forgot something that is reachable with a lil backtracking.
b: I always visit the heart-npc after completing a heart. Not only do they offer very nice things, but also they are often near a PoI.
c: if you missed one in the end this is a great way to do and find it:
- go to full screen map
- click the lil eye on the top left corner
- Uncheck everything but the bottom one (exploration)
- Now study the map while clicking the bottom one on and off. This flashes the things on the map needed for exploration making it more difficult to look over it. Don’t forget to enable all the checkmarks when your done.

So didnt touch game for months (i think at least a half year)…

And last thursday, I think, i got 5 mails that someone wants to change my password on account. I DIDNT click on links or did anything with mails, but tried to start game to check whats going on because I didnt tried to change the password. And obviously my password didnt work anymore.
So i sent mail to support to send me a link to change my password (because i lost my serial number that is needed for password change) and they did. I changed the password, logged in and it was obvious that account was hacked. Everything was sold but money was still on character (around 400g). I check imediattely my account and noticed that email notification is disabled and i enabled it again.
Again reported on support that account is hacked. I got reply do i want to restore my account on some date in past and i said yes. But same day i was unable to log again and i thought that account is blocked while they do restoration.
So next day i got confirmation its restored and my serial number. Password didnt work so i changed it again and couldnt log because someone was already PLAYING my game.
In meantime they took money too.
Now i am waiting for support to respond but how can i be sure anymore that this will not happen again?

how is possible that someone change password and i dont receive notification in mail. Every time i try to change password i got notification (and you need serial key for this). Every time i just try to log in game i get notification (email notification is enabled). But someone is changing my password and playing without it. How???

Ok the security issue is at your site. By hearing bout the speed in wich they are able to (re)hack your account I assume there is something installed at your computer.. Very likely a key-logger. This gives them access to your emailaccount and enables them to remove warningmails before you see them. This also means they can read the new password and can remove trail of their actions perfectly.

The only solution is to re-install your whole computer.
a: Make back-up of your personal files (movies, pictures and documents). Do not save any program you can also re-download. consider every executable file as potentially contaminated.

b: Whipe your harddrive and re-install windows.

c: enable your internetconnection and download a good anti-virus program and update it. There are many free anti-virus products that are pretty good.

d: change your email password

e: change your gw2 password

f: download the game and log in

g: If possible (you need a phone using iOS, Android or windows mobile) start using the mobile authenticator

h: now download and install all the other programs you use and need. Make sure you use legitemate sources.

Specially when this page has been subject to a revert war on the wiki between two well known wiki-editors there. This was near the moment they both got banned for 6 months.

But I’ll promise to see if there is conclusive evidence to find somewhere later today or tomorrow. The ruins look asura, but even with Rata Sum it was hard to tell wich elements where asuran and wich where by the mysterious race that build it. It might very well that the asurans adepted the style cause they liked it and found it intreging.

Another reason people might be talking bout him is that in GW1 he was also the person who was banning players. If you where suspended from accessing the game he would pop out of the ground (wherever you are) and use a scythe to one hit you with no ressurection.

Apologies accepted. This system has been in place since GW1. It it never was a big problem. Support could always help them out if needed and many times some easy tricks helped as well (looking into your gw2 folder in my documents for example for screenshots).

I think you asume an connection to Asura or Inquest due to the name being simular to Rata Sum?? That might be a wild assumption. Rata Sum as it currently is, is build on top of ancient ruins build by an unknown race. It is unknown if it was allready named Rata Sum or that the Asuran’s gave it the name. I can’t proof it but both Rata Sum and Rata Pten don’t feel like it is an asuran name. (asuran’s tend to use technical terms describing the purpose of the place, like metrica province, luminatus plant, hydro lab.)

The architecture does remind me of the architecture of the ruins of Rata Sum in gw1.

It even partially debunks the theory that the Mursaat build Rata Sum and named it is an anagram of Mursaat. Not saying that isn’t the case, but it makes it less logical if there is also a Rata Pten build by the same mysterious race.

Pitching means playing the recored voice faster. This would mean it goes out of snyc with lip movement and emotes your character makes in cinematics.

It doesn’t work that way, I actually tried to reset my own account and I too get an error if I leave the character name blank.

I am very sure it is not an automated reply, possible it is one of those scripted answer reply though. It is no use providing them the product serial because the support just reject my friend’s request to reset the password on the reason that the email tied to the serial does not match and proceed to ask my friend to change his contact detail.

You didn’t read my message. If you have no characters attached to your account you can leave the option bout charactername blank. You very likely have characters on your account so when testing it you need to have it filled in.

Even if the initial answer from support isn’t helping, please keep telling them that. Those are the people that can fix this. If you feel you are stuck you can post his ticketnumber here so that an arenanet official can look into the matter.

There is no straight forward answer to your question.
There should always be a good balance between the traits you are using, the skills (including weaponskills) you are using and the armor your using.

I have a pretty relaxed playstyle. So im setup so that in most fights I can keep myself going forever. I use the armor and stats and skills to reach that point. But then I stop. I have heard people overreacting to be prepared for every danger. The problem then is that it takes forever to kill something.

Keep also in mind you can always rechange your traits for a small amount of fee (at your level that is 1s65c (at level 80 it costs 3s50c).

You’ll have 33 traitpoints available right now. I would put 20 points in deathmagic and choose the traitskills that help with your playstyle to deal more damage (it depends a bit if you use minions or if you use e.g. a staff, or both)

the other 13 points go to Spite (and you will continu to fill that till your level 50). Again take a traitskill that helps you deal damage.

Back to the first amendment. Freedom of speech is an important thing, But more important is freedom of thought (something the founding fathers missed imo). You can think whatever you want. I can imagine you all be doing very naughty things right now, but it wouoldn’t be an issue till I actually wrote it. That is not what the first amendment is all bout. actually it is a misuse of the law, wich is punishable as well.

The first amendment is more bout the freedom to think and feel what you want. The true freedom to speak what you think and feel is limited by the company you are in. If you are in your own guild and your members dont’t have an issue, go ahead, say whatever you want.

The first amendment doesn’t give you the right to grief people.

Dynamic events do always repeat. though there are some follow up events that need a succesfull or failed event to trigger it. Dynamic events are basicly all things at the top right corner of a screen you can get a medal for if you complete it (with the exception of skillpoints). This is off course unless Arenanet decide to take content out of the game. Then it will be gone forever. This is the case with the living story. The living story is temporary content that is in game for a limited amount of time. Some dynamic event’s are part of that content. They will repeat as long as they are in game but after the living story ends they are gone for good.

The living story arcs are more then the dynamic events. The area they take place in has been changed with new structures. New npc’s and dialogues are added and new achievements are in place to do. Atthe moment we are in the secrets of southsun.
This goes from may 14t till june 11. There is a special temporay(?) mini game added to southsun cove. There are new dynamic events, there has been an upgrade of the area in graphics and outposts. you can get special achievements and rewards, and there is even an instance (‘dungeon’) wich you can do with a group or solo.

After the 11th this is all gone again. They might keep the new graphics. but the instance and some of the dynamic events are gone. There is atleast one permanent addition and thats an event chain involving protecting the new settlements. If all are controlled a new world boss event will spawn (not in game yet).

However you will not be able to go there. at the moment due to the living story you are upgraded there to level 80. after that you need to be level 80.

The mystic forge is called the mystic toilet by the fanbase.
You can put in 4 items of the same rarity and you have a change to recieve an item of higher rarity and more valuable then the 4 you have invested. This change is rather slim and you can also get an item of the same rarity. Today I added 4 green max level armor pieces (all worth between 1-3 silver) and ended up with one green armor pieces. so I basicly went from bout 10 silver to 2 silver.

So basicly don’t touch it unless you know the recipe. A recipe are more complicated combinations but are also items that take a lot of farming and take effort to get. This is indeed done at higher levels.

go to the advanced editor, look at the choose file button and select the image on your hard drive. It will always end up at the bottom of your post as a preview and you can only add one per post but thats how it works.

There was one other person here earlier today complaining he didnt get the email. You could make a support ticket https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ (ask a question). Thats the place to gather these kind of complaints and off course give you a personal fix.

You might be interested in the alternative mobile authenitcator (for Iphone, Android or windows mobile phones). Instead of an email, every time you log in you have to use a special app on your phone to authenticate yourself. This is safer and replaces the need for this ip check email.

It totally depends what you like in WvW and what your goal is. I have a Guardian (I prefer scepter shield for ranged but ok) and I have an ele for events.

Ele is great for big zerks to aoe the enemy’s while hiding in the zerg but for things outside the zerg they are less in survivabillity then the guardian.

The very fact that you recognise that this might be an exploit and came to the forums to report about it, yet continued to do it and defend your actions, speaks more about why you’re doing this than anything else. “Hey this might be a bug and it wrecks everyone’s fun, I should keep doing it as much as possible before it’s fixed!”.

It’s not harassment when you’re asked to not ruin an event over and over, and then have the reasoning explained to you. Especially if you counter with “it’s not a bug it’s just how my class works”… after mentioning that it might be a bug here in the forums. If there’s any inclination that something you’re doing is negatively affecting the gameplay of dozens of other game-buying, gem-buying income sources for arenanet, you may want to consider your position in this whole thing. There are plenty of instances where people continued to exploit after the exploit was discovered but before it was fixed by Devs, that have led to bans. Please consider what you’re doing and the effect it’s having on other people, and potentially the future of your own account.

Saying that the OP is exploiting is wrong and counts as a personal attack. As stated before this is a bug. The main problem started when people where calling him an exploiter in the first place. By the definition he is not exploiting. You can ask necromancers in the area nicely to not place marks down, but don’t call them exploiters while they are doing whats in their nature (placing marks).

The bug itself is reported. Stop going after the op or anyone that triggers the bug and give it a rest both here as in your server map chat.

On a personal level I agree that there is no need for RNG-boxes. I never bought one or even felt the urge to buy one. I’m not very rich in real life and if I show my support to the game I do that for things I can use and know I’ll get.

Having said that, this is very much an issue that can’t be resolved by complaining but by the people. So far these boxes has been around during all(??) events. And apperently Arenanet keeps selling enough of them to keep making them, so it seems there is a market for it. I don’t see why people do it, but if they do it, I dont have a problem with Anet making money out of it.

There are two possible reasons for this.
a: in the first months of the game you couldn’t guest and becasue of that limitation server transfer was free. When you stopped playing you transfered yourself to Whiteside Ridge. The moment that guesting was introduced as well as the end of free world transfer was announced in game but also through social media and well before the actual moment. So basicly this option would mean that you made a user error. Depending on how long you activly played on whiteside they might be kind for you to give you a free transfer, but they are not entitled to do so.

b: The other possibility is that you got hacked and the hacker transfered you.

So first step is that it is important to ask support what the reason is.

The point people are trying to make is that Arenanet isn’t monitoring chat’s actively. If in the same timeframe they see multiple players reporting a single player they check it out and see what’s going on. If Arenanet decide you say things that are not allowed the suspend you for 3 days (or in your case as a second offender 7 days).

So where it is Arenanets decission to suspend you, the reason for the suspension is not that you said what you said, but that other people where offended by it enough to report you. So multiple players got angry enough at you that they wanted Arenanet to step in and give you a suspension. As you can also see, nobody here is on your hand.

So basicly:
People who don’t know you got so annoyed with you in game that the wanted you to be suspended.
Arenanet agreed and suspended you
Everyone but yourself on this forum so far disagrees with you and thinks you don’t have a point.

Maybe try and put your energy in other things while you sit out your time?

As far as I know the ‘my account – security’ doesnt give you the possibility to add an ip-adress. You can disable the ip system by going for the mobile authenticator. If the OP thinks the mobile authenticator is a good idea then thats a good way to go. But I wouldn’t use it as a solution for a system bug.

Your friend needs to go to https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ and click ask a question. There he can ask support for a solution.

Support can tell the reasons they had for doing this and if he can be reactivated.

I have been banned for 3 days a while ago, had a few too many drinks and said some stuff, bit stupid on both parts.
But please dont try and make me look bad on my own post by saying i have a gaming addiction, i can live without games, im simply expressing the stupidity of a 7 day ban for a few words said, if the player was offended, they could have simpy PM’d myself asking me to not say stuff like that again.

If someone lets a few words said over the internet get to them, even though what i said was not directed to anyone on my actual server, which i still dont understand, then they need to man up.

So you had a 3 day ban and your still claiming you where not warned that such behaviour isn’t tolerated.

Please keep in mind that people from across the world in all ages play this game. This is not a schoolyard where you only meet people from your age (wich I suspect is rather young) but where people play the game from age 12 (and younger, but the game is rated 12) to the age of players in their 90’s.

Imagine saying the things you said to your grandmother?? This game is played by garbage men and by judges. Would you say the things you said to a judge?? There is excuse to type those things. If you can’t control what your typing then don’t type.

I’m allready playing 70% of my time with map chat off. But often I turn it on to hear where the current events are or to see who is looking for a group. I have no wish nor desire to hear someone like you using faul language.

Just to warn you a bit more. If you do it next time the suspension will likely be 1 month.
