I have noticed that the ele if untraited for protection and if low geared has some issues. Retraining your traits for better protection and/or getting better gear might indeed help a lot.

There aqre no ’penalty’s for guesting (beside WvWvW) but there are a few things that can get in your way if you do it all the time. This involves being a member of a guild.
If your guesting on TA you can also join a guild on TA, but you benefit the guild’s progress on your own server (wich might very likely be nothing). This means you don’t get guildbonusses and you can not access the guildbank.

I am having the same problem also, cant get pay pal nor my Visa card to work, kinda annoying tbh seeing as theres not long left on the offers atm. At this rate i wont be able to buy any of the Gem items on offer because I wont have the gems by then.
Please file a support ticket.

As long as the country is in the same server park, you’re okay. For example, if you’re in Europe and move anywhere else in Europe you’ll be fine.
If you’re outside of Europe and move anywhere else outside of Europe you’ll be fine.
But if you’re in Europe and you’re moving outside Europe, or vice versa, you’re going to encounter a problem.
Not true. The region indicator for EU-server and NA-servers (rest of the world) are there to ensure you use the game for the first time in the region you bought it. But you have never been limited to EU or NA servers. I have a friend who is Canadian and always play on EU-servers. The reason is that he is originally from the UK and moved to the states several years ago. This way he can share time with his former schoolmates.
To answer the OP: All that will happen is that you will be locked out at first. You get an email with the request to click a link. Use that to authenticate that you are you and not a hacker. After that you can log in.
Keep in mind it sometimes takes several minutes (15 minutes max??) to recieve this email.

Dulfy’s guide is useful to find someone, but not to fight him. Especially when in a small guild. That is the kind of help I am mostly looking for.
I have to disagree. Bwiki for example only has one lil problem. Dulfy is making you aware of that:
‘Do not attack Bwikki when he has this Frost Aura on him. He will apply a chill on you that lasts for 20 seconds and is immune to any damage you dealt when you are chilled. Just stop attacking when you see him with this buff icon.’

Incident: 130524-000855
To note: I know this is sent through to another department. The incident was on this section of the forum. I had an infraction (when helping someone with an account problem) wich was in my opinion done in error. I have asked for more information bout it through the emailadres forum: forums@arena.net over a week ago. never got a reply. I have filed this support ticket, CS transferred it to them very speedy, but again no answer.
Why have a rule ‘You may contact staff directly at forums@arena.net if you wish to discuss a staff member’s decision.’ if you dont reply to a question??
I know its a bit_ cheesy to mis-use the supportticket system for this, but cause I was helping someone with a support ticket and it is the same company I’m dealing with I think I’m entitled to. All I want is a reaction.
-edit: Just got an email from the forum team. the infraction has been removed. It’s a reply to my original email 11 days ago. I’m not sure of this post helped but I do hope that the forum team reacts quicker in the future. Maybe let them work through the support system as well instead of an official e-mail adress wich can get flooded with spam?? Anyways problem solved -

It is happening to thousands of people, Anet is still refusing to acknowledge the problem.
Ljiona,
Please stop posts like this. From your history you are currently too griefed to see reality. This has happened to me sometimes as well. The game functions as normal and there is not a problem that Arenanet has to fix or even can fix. They can’t fix networklag (unless it is the final part of the line to their servers) and they can’t fix your computer.
If you want to be helped please make a thread here explaining your problem, include your own hardware setup and the errorcodes your recieve.
At the moment you are griefed to such a point you are risking being locked out of here while your problem might very well be solved if you just ask help.

Could be you got reported for something you typed in public chat and they looked at all your communications to figure out if whatever you did was one-time or habitual.
I wouldn’t think immediately making a confrontational “call out” forum post is a good idea, being also against the rules and all that. That’s sort of like speeding after a speeding ticket.
I disagree with you on two fronts.
First of all it is not good to speculate on an issue thats very likely being reviewed. Speculation only can make things more complex.
Second off all, it is Arenanets decision to have a system like this. The OP first asked support bout the motives for his ban before posting and got a unsatisfying answer. He then made a thread here. He isnt speeding after a speeding ticket, he is asking to review the ticket cause he claims not to have been speeding. He does that in a firm, but respectfull manner and is helpfull to the community in explaining the background.

Please remove the name of the GM, personal attacks are not allowed and it might be seen as that.
Secondly, if you are telling everything there is I dont see a problem here and the suspension was in error in my opinion. So ye asking an Arenanet official for an appeal would be the right thing to do.
One thing though, the GM says ‘some quoted excerpt’ this sounds as if there where more quotes. (could off course be a standard message he forgot to change). But are you sure you told everything?? I know the Arenanet official that usually handles these things. She is very kind and nice and fair, but she hates being called out for a lie.

When you agreed to the gw2 user agreement you also agreed that they have access to all communications within the game. This can not be published but can be used to investigate a breach of the user agreement.
If you agreed with this not fully knowing what it means you can disagree from now on with the agreement. All you have to do is stop playing the game.
The bad language rules doesnt count for guildchat and pm’s unless there has been a complaint from a person participating.
The only exceptation to this is if the content of the chat is used to form or maintain a group with racistic purposes (mind the purpose of the group needs to be racistic)
I suspect you are mistaken in the reason for your suspension.
If you feel a suspension was made under the wrong terms you can file a suport ticket to ask them to review the situation. If you disagree with the outcome you can ask an Arenanet official to review your appeal. there is no right for an appeal like that, but I do know that it is almost always granted.
You can ask such an appeal in here. Make sure in that case you tell what your 12-digits ticket number is so the Arenanet official can look into the matter.
Goodluck!

So your saying that on a similiar previous case that is exactly the same and try to get the same results is something not worth venturing? Especially when my friends say they are now not willing to delete their characters?
I am at my wits end. I know that staff are able to do so and are willing to because a case was in the very thread I was referred to. Plus I assume the longer I wait to try to get this settled the less liekly it will to happen. I played since launch and deleting a level 80 compared to two fresh and when I spent IRL For gems to server transfer is ridicilous.
It is NOT exactly the same, You THINK it is the same and you THINK you should be helped. That doesnt change the fact that inthe eyes of support and in my eyes you are MISTAKEN and you will NOT be helped.

Is a mechanical autoclicker bannable?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
Those are some interesting suggestions, but well, it makes me wonder, what is the difference between various methods of clicking? It makes me click much faster than a regular player, and this is, I guess, why it is considered cheating. All those methods you mentioned I can achieve with my device and while technically it will not be me clicking, the result would be the same.
Furthermore, I do not know what the detecting techniques are. It is obvious that they can’t say if it is me clicking or someone/something else, if I am not using any software, but I guess there is a possibility to check the frequency of clicks, how fast are they and so on and so forth. If so, even if I tried doing it with 2 mice or using my numpad, it could alert those systems and get me banned.
I would suggest not to discuss or even think bout detecting techniques. We dont need to know how they work to obey to the rules.
You are right there isn’t a sharp line between whats acceptable and what isn’t but some grey area.
For example.
For GW1 you could use a program called texmod. This could change the graphics in game. Off course changing it in such a way that you character has a brighter white skirt didnt have any advantage.
But how about changing the colour of undiscovered parts of the map to more easily see what you have discovered and what not?? It’s and advantage, but not unfair. You still need to go there and actually discover it. What bout an indicator of different range of skills on the mini-map??
In the end texmod was considered to be ok (though unsupported).
In gw1 I had a farming run that only needed to click 10 keys (flowers in pre-seering outside the abbey). With your autoclicker it is a very small step to automate that and be a bot.
The fact that you don’t intend to go further doesnt allow it. an autoclicker is actually a very rudimentary version of a bot. They fall in the same group of programs (software designed to automate gameplay). So dont go there. if you want to cheat play a solo rpg.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
A few points to mark out.
a: Your saying in the first alinea a lot bout your desire for an identity in an RPG game. The motives to take up or not take up on a class are however no traditional RP-reasons but gameplay reasons. This got me puzzeled. Do you have role playing issues or do you just feel being a bad player??
b: assuming the last (not saying your a bad player, but the fact that you feel it that way is important). You give a very good summerize bout pro’s and cons of several classes, but thats what it is. All classes have pro’s and con’s. There is no smash your head o nthe keyboard and be god-class. To truly love and understand a class you need to invest time and patience.
So basicly what you to do is stick to a class and force yourself to stick to it till you have it at level 80, done full storyline, a dungeon, WvWvW and some farming. Force yourself to be patient and loyal to your class and you will get the loyalty back. You will conquer the down sides and turn them into positives. But you need to invest time.
So my advise is to start all over from 0 and pick a class and stick to it. If you have trouble deciding you could draw tickets. For every class you make 0-3 tickets (0 if your sure you dont want to play it, 3 if you want it to have a decent change). Put them tidely folded in a hat, hussle and grab one. The important thing is to stick with it. When there is doubt or when there is trouble, find a way to overcome that, but stick with it.
Good luck
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I think this is a concern for a lot of legitimate farmers.
A lot of players (myself included) actually quite like farming. The requirements for the legendaries mean that many players who have set out to get a legendary will be farming for a lot of their in-game time.
The current 200% magic find buff in Southsun Cove seems like an attempt to encourage farming. People want to farm with this buff, so they will spend a lot of time in this zone. To then accuse players utilising this buff as ‘bots’ seems a little unfair.
I read in another post that there is always a human involved in the decision to ban bots, and that it is never left only to the anti-botting algorithm. The fact that so many people seem to be receiving bans, including the OP, makes me question whether improvements could be made in this process.
Indeed, after spending a few minutes farming in any zone, it is clear that the other farmers in the area are legitimate players. We say hello, we form groups, we link drops etc etc. Indeed, I don’t think I have ever seen a bot while farming.
I am in the same guild as the OP, and we farm together quite often. When I heard he had been banned for botting I was gobsmacked since I had spent time with him the night before farming in Southsun. I was really worried that I too would receive a ban.
Combined with the diminishing returns, I am not really sure what I am supposed to do with regards to farming for my legendary and I feel the developers are sending mixed signals with regard to legitmate farming. They know we have to farm (or indeed grind) to get the mats for the legendary, but seem to discourage players from actually doing so with DR and botting bans. A clear message from the devs would help with this, and maybe a review of the current diminishing returns system. At the very least, give us a visible debuff that lets us know when we have DR, rather than wasting time. It is often very hard to tell if DR has kicked in since the RNG is so random at times that your drops are indistinguishable from DR.
I understand the reasons why you cannot give information about how you detect botting. I am also somewhat reassured that you will listen to players and undo the bans where they are not justified. I do hope though that the devs realise that they added a huge (optional) farming requirement for certain items, and can find some way to acknowledge that farming is a legitimate playstyle in this game, while also providing an anti-botting solution that doesn’t ever impact players going about their legitimate business.
In one of the threads Gaile Gray gave a hopefull reply yesterday. You might want to look into it cause I think it answers a lot:
’
Gaile Gray.6028:
I wanted to post to say that I am aware that yours is not the only post expressing concerns about false positives (generally for botting or for RMT activity). Some of the account terminations that people complain about here are 100% accurate. They may have a friend post, or use an alternative account to protest, but they truly are guilty of the actions for which their account was terminated. (Just as you’ve seen the “I didn’t do it” claims from people with the nastiest of names, or the rudest and most aggressive of behaviors!)
In the end, though, some suspensions and account terminations are indeed the result of a false positive. We regret each and every one of those.
I am starting an internal discussion about our several review processes, to make sure we’re doing our utmost to reduce false positives to a close to 0% as humanly possible. I can’t promise — no one can promise — that we’ll never make an error. But we take this concern seriously and will address it as well and in as many ways as we can!
’
The solution isn’t to tell farmers what to do to be not been seen as botters. The solution is to get the false positives out of the way so farmers and all players can play the game without the need to get worried.

No Cavendish had a totally different issue. He bought the gems with real money and made a mistake.
You friends need to pick one of the following options:
a: buy enough gems using a gem gift card, paypal or a creditcard and PAY for the transfer
b: delete all characters (store all items except soulbound items in the bank) and transfer for FREE
There are NO other options. There is NO was for support to assist them. Making more threads is NOT going to change that.
You might disagree with this amount of support but it is as it is. If your friends account is only a week old and if your friend finds this unacceptable he can ask support for a refund of the game. His account will be deleted and he MIGHT gets his money back.
Accounts much older then 1 week are not eligable for a refund. But feel free to punish Arenanet with not playing and not purchasing future games if you disagree with this.
The power of a customer is to stop being a customer. Complaining for the sake of complaining is futile.

You account can have been compromised in many ways. Mike O’brien (president of Arenanet) wrote a pretty good article.
If you have concerns bout the emailadress you can always ask Arenanet to change it for you: support.guildwars2.com (ask a question).
The authentication app for your hpone is off course a very excellent additional security measure.

Oh, I understand.
Like this?
No solution, so are closed.
No solution, I can only find something else to do.
Thats great, it means the support liason (Gaile Gray) can have a look into it.
Maybe a tip for the future. Even when a ticket is closed you can re-open them by adding new information. This means all info stays in one ticket and that makes it easier for support to pick up the full story.

I’ve just had one, you already have it in your list of known emails.
Would it not be wise to email players warning them of a new round of scams rather than relying on them maybe coming here to find out?
It actually reminded me I meant to set up the authenticator, so was actually useful but still, would have been nice to have had an email from anet warning of phishing.
I wouldnt mind getting an email from Arenanet warning bout these kind of scams. However not everytime there is a new one discovered. The simple reason is that I actually don’t recieve the phising mails.
Besides that, they are rather common, so it would mean a lot of emails from arenanet. People would start considering them as spam and ignore them anyway.

what a few hours. I personally never had this issue, but a friend of mine had, after a few hours it was resolved without any intervention. If after this time nothing has changed you’ll need support at support.guildwars2.com (ask a question).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Indeed support is the place to go. But to speculate on the possible outcome, the answer is in general that they don’t have the means to replace items on the live servers and therefor are unable to help you.
However. This doesnt mean that this is a good thing. I am even doubting the need for these rings to be unique. afaik it serves no real purpose then lore (there can’t be two Khilbron’s rings). Though I find correctness in lore important, it shouldnt be gamebreaking. Many people aremaking these mistakes. You can get two rings wich are identical in stats (e.g. Khilbron’s Phylactery and Ouroboros Loop wich only differ in the kind of infusions being possible). The difference in infusions is imo so minor there is no need at all for these rings to be unique.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The level 80 exotic weapons can be bought with dungeon tokens. In this case the tokens in CM, TA, HotW or Arah. It will take 5 runs of a dungeon to get a scepter. TA and HotW are the easiest.
Just keep in mind the tokens are accountbound, so you can repeat the dungeon with different characters to avoid DE. The scepter is soulbound on acquire, so make sure you buy it with your necromancer.

Hi BlackConcept,
If I understand you rigth then someone broke into your appartment and among other things deleted things on your gw2 account.
The first thing is that yout have to have prove. You have to file a report with the local police bout this. If you didn’t do so ( now is too late) there is indeed no way you can prove that this has happened to you and your request will be denied.
The second problem is that you ask this now and not 4 month ago. Arenanet has an account restoration system. This system is generally used for compromised account through online hacking, but could be used for this situation. However the fact that it’s 4 months ago can be a problem, so it might be impossible for Anet to go back this far in time.
You might want to post here the 12-digits number so customer support can look into the ticket to ensure there is indeed nothing they can do

It happens a lot. The location is often different from the real location. This is cause the information is looked up by a whois command for the IP-adress. Your provider doesnt have to relay information of your personal location and often consider this as privacy data. Instead the location of the data center for your internet provider is given.
My location is bout 200 miles from where I actually live due to this. Use the location as an indicator. If it shows you in e.g. Kashgar (China) while you live in Salt Lake City you have a problem. But you are prolly ok. Specially if you have tried logging in yourself, didnt got access till authentication and then got the email.

all skills have counters and I have a feeling many of your bug’s arent bugs but as designed. Know how to counter counters and realise that you are playing against real people and not sutpid programmed NPC’s helpts a lot in WvWvW
The hammer skill 3 is very easy to avoid by a human player by dodge, jump, aegis, stability and more.
The hammer skill 5 is also easy to avoid.
Orb of light: I use a staff and dont have any issues.
Greatsword (my favourite weapon).
This is a skill with two effects. The wirl only hit for a short range. Only the 7 projectiles have a range of 600. These projectiles can be easy avoided. This is as designed. It’s a melee skill, not a ranged skill. The projectiles are bonus.
Renewed focus is not a get out of combat skill. The renewal of your virtues is the most important effect. I only use this skill after spamming my f1, f2 and f3 to get the passive effect back
In short, I dont see any bugs. All works as intended. Dont expect your foes in WvWvW be as unintelligent as the npc foes in PvE.

Trying your luck with support is your best and only change. But I dont think you will get it done. There is no mechanism in place to do this. Besides that support has claimed many time they can’t create items in game on the live servers (though some people claim thakitten isnt true and they can do it but are refusing it, but in the end its the same thing).
The bets thing you you could do to make a suggestion in the suggestion thread to have a skin-npc like the festival hat npc in gw1. They where used to safe special festival items.

However, you can make it this human easier by:
a: making sure the sender/reciever are on eachothers friendslist (and preferable for a long time)
b: making sure in the text of the email it is clear where it is forI don’t know about that, my brother and I got ban like every other month when we make legendary and required to move gold/mats around or when we help a guildie by sending them stuff.
I got an infraction recently for only crosslinking to another post (I filed an appeal bout it and you even dont get an answer to an appeal!!). But in a recent post Gaile (anet support liason) stated that 99% of the bans where ok bans and only an exceptional small number got banned by mistake. She also stated that all bans are checked manually.
I commented there that I totally understand that human errors can be made, but the goal should be perfection. Only 1% unjustified bans is an ok number, but for people like you, it doesn’t matter if it is 1% or 0.1%. It is you who got the problems. So I do hope they get it down to 0 or atleast go for that.

every ban is reviewed. if someone is banned in error, this is a human mistake.

A dev actually posted in another thread about Canach. Apparently he got his gauntlets in a similar fashion to our players.. Raiding a Molten Allaince base. It seems that he has, in his mind, been trying to reinvent himself as some type of protector of the weak as his self image. He sounds like a guy who is very egotistical.
Yeah, that revelation really surprised me. It would been handy to have a 3rd NPC along with Braham and Rox to take on the enemies in the Molten Facility. XD
4th Your forgetting bout Frostbite.
