There are two types of pvp:
sPvP: two small teams fighting eachtother and capturing flags in a smallish map
WvW: Server versus server versus server. On big maps you fight together with several 100 players from your server against several 100 players from a different server.

In sPvP all players are geared the same (though you can customize to certain stats for free) and gear is inclusive for sPvP. You will be a level 80 with full armor, stats, traits and all skills and weapons available and unlocked. So a level 2 is as powerfull as a level 80 player.

In WvW you are buffed to 80 but not your armor-stats, your traits and your unlocked skills. However due to the size of the fights it isnt really a problem if you join a big zerg (big group of players). You might want to stay ranged though and play a bit more supportive.

Here you can check out the worlds doing best in WvW. Just keep in mind a good world in WvW means you hit enemy’s that are (almost) equally as good and there can be a big queue on getting into the fight.

An hacked account can’t effect your droprate.
The drops and quality of drops is determend by two things
a: a loottable with the possible items that drop (can differ from location to location).
b: a random number generator, wich picks a random number corresponding with a numbered item on the loottable.

Both things are serverside determend. The only way to hack your way to better luck is to hack the server, this is nearly impossible and would be noticed very quickly.

Hi Darek,

First off all lemme explain how the system works. If someone is offended by your name they have the right to report it. You obviously offended someone. I would strongly advise you to not judge the person(s) motives. People have the right to be offended and the right to report you.

A report doesn’t result in a suspension and you can only guess for the motives. So better to asume someone was offended and didnt had other reason for reporting you. The suspension however is done cause an Arenanet GM reviewed the report and agreed to the fact that it is an offensive term.

Now if you disagree with the decission made by the GM you have the right to call for an appeal. First thing is to file a support ticket here:

If the outcome is still negative you can ask an arenanet official in here to make judgement.

Again I strongly advise you to leave your personal judgement of the motives of the reporter(s) out of it.

Now to wether or not it is offensive or not. I had to look the term up on urban dictionary. It means if I’m correct the chest of a man, often used if it is of significant size simular to the chest of a grown up woman.

I think this is on the edge atleast.
you can say that in most cultures it is accepted that a man is dressed half naked (if the weather and location is apropiate, eg. a beach) showing the body part described by the term. So that works in your defense.

On the other hand, the fact that the term is used when the size is significant works against you cause in most cultures that is considered ugly and even disgusting.

Bottomline is that it is on the edge and even when the appeal works out in your advantage, it still is a risk cause a new report can be viewed by another GM and you could get prompted again.

As I understand you where only prompted to change the name and not suspended. The normal punishment for this is a forced name change and a 72 hour suspension. So it looks like that the GM in question did see it was an on the edge situation and decided to go for the middle ground by forcing a name change and not giving you a suspension or an accountmark for breaking the rules.

Maybe take it as it is??

This treath is used to register bugs and see how many people see it as an issue. I udnerstand you find it important, but it appears it’s either a very small bug or something most people don’t really care bout.

I personally never look at that list.

With bumping you only get in a situation your thread is closed by a mod without ever being registered by a dev.

As suggested above, this should be put into the hands of Arenanet, but not by you.

There is no direct rule they broke. For cases like this Arenanet has a much wider rule

This is rule used for situations like this. It actually gives Arenanet the possibility to suspend people for almost every conflict that happens if they say and if think the person deserves a suspension.

However, this means that the guildleader of the victum guild should be the one reporting the person who did it. If that leader does it is up to Anet to decide wether or not this is reason for disciplinary actions. If the leader doesn’t report, he and his members doesn’t feel obstructed in their right to enjoy the game and there is nothing wrong.

In other words. It’s up to you if you want to keep them as friends. It’s up to the victums to file an official complaint and it is up to Anet to decide if they went too far.

I try this puzzle for many time but i am just not fast enough to clear it. I play GW2 because of the relaxed style of gaming but to finish all puzzles i need to do this one aswell. My hands just cant be that fast for a reason. It takes extra efford to do jumping puzzles. Is there some way to clear this puzzle. Or is guildwars ready to make it so that it takes little less time before those rocks drop. Well i hope there can be done something about this.

Ok, First of all I’m very sorry for your situation and (assuming that you are innocent indeed) I understand you feel very upset.

Let me state first that this is Arenanet showing themselfes not in the best way. Keep in mind you are customers of this company and you can always turn your back on them. In the end it is them who loose cause of the mistakes they made.

That put aside and assuming you want to give Anet another change to solve this in a good way, AND considering the earlier ticket, I would suggest to follow the system but be impatient.

Step 1: file a support ticket and wait for a response. It is no problem to link to this thread. If the outcome is positive then its ok. If not go to step 2.

Step 2: Normally I’m very possitive bout advising people to keep trying to talk to support. In this case I think you shouldn’t. If they don’t respond at ones in a positive way, specially after the wrongfull way they treated you before, there is no excuse and you should step higher directly.

Do so by making a separate thread, linking to this, asking an Arenanet official to hear your appeal to the decission. Make sure you make it a short thread. Link to here and explain that you have not been engaged in goldselling . Ask them to reinstate the account asap and to ensure the proces in viewing/banning/reviewing is optimised so the innocent don’t suffer over the guilty.

To the Arenanet official reading this I say that, even though I’m very much against RMT’s and bots, this is wrong.

The proces you have is a good one (automatic flag > manual review by GM > if guilty ban > Supportticket with another manual review > appeal)
However if both the GM and the person handling the supporticket are making such mistakes twice in the same situation there is something structurally wrong and this can’t be an incident. Either make sure your system doesn’t give false flags or give the GM’s and support agents better training to recognise false flags.

Well in theory, and I’m not going to find it, but there’s a red post in here somewhere about it, as well as success stories of people who followed the red poster’s advice and it worked.

You ‘can’ delete all your characters and make new characters on another server and avoid transfer costs. I don’t know all the details about whether anything in your bank will be waiting for you (guild banks don’t transfer), but if they truly have ‘really’ low level characters and don’t mind starting over, this is an option.

Now, what I “don’t” know is whether ‘full’ only interferes with transfers, or whether that also prevents a new player from even creating a character on the server? I would assume so?

The question is not bout the price and how to bypass it, but if you can trasnfer during off hours

To answer the OP’s final question: Yes you can transfer from an european server to an American server. Keep in mind this cost gems (depending on how active the server is).

It really depends on what your farming (mats, karma, skillpoints, gold) and the end goal you have. For example, the method Marnick is stating is a very good one unless you need gold for your legendary weapon but are also working on your clovers.

For pure money I prefer dungeons and cursed shore event farming.

You can buy an upgrade in the gemstore for 2000 gems.

No I’m afraid not, players on US servers can only guest on US servers. Players on EU servers can only guest in EU. This has to do with the physical location of the servers

a: A full server is not always locked. Best change is to try it in the middle of the night (like 4 am in the morning). Then is a time its often not full.
b: Till then you can guest on their server. this is a free option (limited to PvE though), wich means you can play together while actually being on different servers.

I personally never had real trouble with this guy. Yes he hits hard, but I always could kill him with not dropping too far into health.

The temple events (even the pre-ones) seems to be scaling more to level 80 players in level of difficulty. I dont find the souther invasion hard (as a level 80 player). It is actually a very good way to do your events for your monthly.

To OP. Fighting in Malchor’s leap is always a bit of a hard point when your doing your first character. The reason is that the level of enemy’s are starting to aim for end game content. So the Risen you meet now have the same skills and abillity’s as the ones you meet later on in the level 80 map. The only difference is that they don’t hit you that hard yet.

I would suggest playing earlier area’s like e.g. mount maelstrom or fireheart rise. You can also go to Frostgorge sound (level 70-80 map), wich are all a bit more friendly to level. When you hit 76-ish you can try again.

Server transfer only takes several minutes indeed. You logged out in the game and get an errormessage when you try to login. After a few minutes you get in on the new server.

You do the dungeon with a group of 5 and only one has to be at the entrance to start it off. So if you can’t get up the plaza dont worry too much.

There are however two tactics.
a: Fight your way up there (wich can be hard)
b: Run there. Many skills can help you specially the ones that
-heal
-removes conditions
- boost speed
-grants stability

Wich achievement are you missing??

There are 4 (new) achievements. One you wont get till the 12th. One for doing the dungeon. One for watching the video’s afterwards (in knut’s loft and in Black citadel’s jail, this one gives you the title) and finally you have one for doing this and all previous story arcs (this one rewards the molten gloves, and this includes e.g. the refugee title from the first month).

There aremany threads allready bout this subject and the consensus is that it is very very very unlikely. The reason is that an Elder dragon does two things.
a: make minions (corrupting others). Though the pale tree grow’s sylvari. Sylvari are not anything like a mindless minion. They are sentient beings that can think and act on their own.
b: consumes magic. There is no sign whatsover the pale tree does that.

I would suggest going directly to support. This is a personal account issue.

First off all realise this is a game and step back from it.
Secondly, I’m not sure it’s a 100% bug, but more a matter of buggy gameplay combined withgame mechanics.

First a major spoiler you prolly know bout:

A: The only possible way to get onto the tower is to be catapulled onto it by the nearby farm with catapult.

B: In order to use the catapult you need to talk to the back of it (you’ll see an interact button).
Be carefull with the guy next to it, he sells gambling tickets and can cost yourself money. Either make sure you read the dialogue-window or put most of your money in the bank.

C: You can not always interact with the catapult. This has to do with the local event. However. This is the best moment to give it a try.
- Wait till the event with the harpies trigger.
- do the event help as much as possible.
- After the event is over listen to the npc bout wagering how far the cows you have saved can be catapulled and see the results
- Now the interact function comes available and you can be catapulled.

You can also guest on a different server if things are stuck on yours.

I think the ‘bug’ is known and the main reason you can now hide the gloves your wearing (like you allready could with backpack, shoulders and mask)

The Non disclosure agreement is for content that is in testing. This wise wildly spread during the closed and public beta’s but now only for the select lucky people who are testers for new content. So that has nothing to do with it.

You are allowed to publish youtube video’s taken from the game . You are not allowed to do this for commercial use. This doesn’t means you’re not allowed to make money. To publish on youtube you have to invest in video capturing software and video editing software. So that is a valid non-commercial argument.

You are not allowed to claim content as your own.

As Gaile Gray stated in that thread, the issue with the OP in the thread doesn’t has to do with your issue.

Support will do WHAT THEY CAN to verify your claim that this is an error at the server and e.g. not to do with lag, or your own fault. The will also do WHAT THEY CAN to get you sattisfied again. They can and will not refund you cash or refund you the item for the simple reason they claim they can’t create items out of thin air on the live servers. There are some rumours bout a possible backdoor, but the official statement is that they just simple can’t do it.

Sorry to bring you this as it is, but this is not the way to get anything done.

Like you said you aren’t doing something wrong and you should be able to do it. The worse that can happen is that the GM that is reviewing it makes a mistake. but with a ticket afterwards you will get unbanned. Besides that if you make it easy by following the advise I gave I have never heard of any problems.

A guildvault is very unsafe to do this compared to an e-mail and I would strongly not suggest using an unsafe method out of fear for a ban. Make very clear in the mails what you are doing and it should be no problem at all.

The thing with ele is that you shouldn’t play it as a traditional caster (no light armor class btw). Both in groups as solo you will get agro and you will need to support yourself.

The top one mistake starting ele’s make is standing still. Always be on the move.
I disagree with the d/d fanatics. d/d is very nice for mostly direct damage and nuking. But personally I prefer scepter dagger cause it is more balanced insupport. So while for endgame the d/d is excellent if thats your style, for leveling having a bit more balance on the protective site is a big difference imo.

Staff is only nice in my opinion in big groups as an AoE support role. (big DE’s and WvW-zergs)

This is a known issue and the devs are working on a solution. The dev’s don’t need more information and the thread is closed to give priority to info bout other unknown bugs.

I expect a fix i nthe big contentupdate tomorrow.

Sunrise and Twilight doesn’t count as a legendary for that icon. Only Eternity does.

It’s unknown if this is a bug or that it is intended to be that way. It does seem a bit unfair though.

Indeed, It is no problem sending bigger amounts of money to a friend, but you have to realise your accounts are going to be flagged suspiccious. This means a GM will look what you where doing. So in chat and in the mail it is important that the reason and your relation is visable. Being on eachothers friendslists helps a lot as well.

Also keep in mind that new accounts are limited in the amount of money and values you can recieve. This limit is lifted over time

hmmmm, it costs a bit of money, but maybe a different kind of mouse. I’m using a razor naga moba. You have your 1-6 skills under your thumb on your mouse then. (so the weaponskills and your healing skill). Also takes a bit of practise to get used to it.

1: dungeons. loot in dungeon’s is bout 1g per path. a good team can do 1 path in 30-45 minutes.

2: Farming orr event’s specially the pertinent waypoint event chain and an occasional melandru and grenth event is a good way to get lots of loot and rewards.

3: save money on waypoint travel. Short waypoint travels should be avoided always. Long distance waypoints can have some easy tricks. e.g.

- From anywhere to lion’s arch (or any of the main towns or nearby area’s). Got to the heart of the mists and portal to lion’s arch.
- traveling to Orr: it’s cheap from the Grove.
- Use the main city’s. if you want to go from lion’s arch to frostgorge sound you get 25% off by portalling to Houlbrak first.

Last of all set your goals and stick to it.

Just keep in mind that Karma is never been intented to be converted to gold. You can get a lil bit of coin out of the boxes and they do yield the highest rate, but it is still very very little.

e.g. an exotic chestpiece with a rune of balthasar and the same (sorta) stats as the temple karma armor from temple of balthasar cost bout 3 gold.

So that means 42k karma for an item worth 3 gold (roughly and if you could sell the karma armor).
so 1000 karma = 7s142c (if you could sell it)

Opening 100 boxes means you prolly make 5 gold max
so 455k karma equals 5 gold (with boxes)
This means:
1000 karma = 1s
Bottom line…you are trowing away a lot of karma and I would only do it when I have absolutly no use for karma in any other way. Specially cause stacking it up doesn’t mean it’s wasted. Who knows what use it is going to have in the future.

That’s the worst part for me. Given the choices I have right now,. I"ll lose items/mats/gold either way. Feb 19. represents a huge step back in the game and not only would I lose about the same amount of gold/items/etc that the thief stole, but the bulk of my progress over the last 2+ months which is var more valuable.

And for the record, ANet appears to be just letting this issue quietly die….no one’s contacted me or done anything since Gaile’s post last week……if they are not going to make things right, they could at least they could come back and tell me that “Sorry, sucks to be you” but I haven’t even gotten that.

I think it is too late for that and I also don’t think it has to do with not having the proper backstory (depending on your sylvari story he has little to no role in that one too) but with his character.

The fact that he is suddenly being forced on you as your leader
His negativism (this won’t end well)
The fact that he is pushed to leadership but always needs you to tell what to do

The problem with improving him is that it is his character, so I truly believe that having him have a heroic death would be a smart move.

Though a few words bout it. The amount of time seems to go up when you try it more often. So after the first time seeing it its better to wait a minute or 2 before trying again

It is a personal issue with your account and not a bug. If it happens for three days in a row it won’t be an anomaly and you should make a support ticket.

You will NOTrecieve the rare drops you missed. The reason is that Arenanet has no possible way to create items in game.

Your talking bout tickets?? please remove all but the first. It won’t help your case and will be cluttering up the queue. If the sale runs out I’m pretty sure that Anet finds the time of the first ticket enough proof that you should have the code with the sales-price (make sure you ask for it). If not….well thats onto your judgement if you want to grace arenanet with any future purchase

You will not get any speedier result by posting here. This forum has three purposes.

a: report tickets that takes longer then 72 hours to resolve.
b: appeal a decission by support
c: to discuss certain support issues with the community

In all three situations you should give support a good amount of time (72 hours) to solve it.

Daily reset is bugged sometimes and thats prolly the reason.
