When they make a big mistake like this, they should fix it as soon as possible. Maybe a lot of people are ok with 72 hours, but to me, this is too long. Also I shouldn’t have to email you about your mistake and ask for you to review and unban me. When I make a mistake at work my boss doesn’t expect me to wait and see who complains I am supposed to fix the problem on my own.

You know who you banned and how many and for what. Review all of your bans recently and unban those who don’t deserve it. Don’t sit and wait for people to email you. I feel like if you had better phone support some of these things would be less of an issue.

Step one go through the submitted tickets. People who file a ticket are logically more troubled then someone who e.g. is on holliday.
Step two however should be to review all banned accounts to see if there was a mistake (atleast with a big goof-up like this)

Unfortunally this takes time. It is very likely they compiled the lists of accounts that needed banning for this specific exploit over a prolonged period (one or two weeks) and then banned them all at once.

Tip 1: Play what you like best in playstyle and don’t worry too much bout the looks. There are many armors later on and e.g. some armors that have a more cloth and leatherly look. You can actually preview all armor skins in the heart of the mists (sPvP szaging area).

Tip 2: same goes for weapons. a certain combination might have caught your eyes, but your first concern should be to develop a playstyle and become a good player.

Finally, A mesmer has more potential to be good at WvW. in PvE i must say I prefer the guardian more.

in the game you agreed to not use faul language. You did so by accepting the EULA. This is a binding legal agreement you have with Arenanet. There is no excuse for breaking it. You are now temporary suspended. Your account is also flagged. This means if you do not learn and repeat this behaviour you risk longer suspensions including a lifetime suspension.

If you now disagree with the agreement you have you can always break the agreement by stop playing. Just as Arenanet can force that on you through a suspension.

There is simply no excuse for what you did!!

Sorry to bring it this hard and straight forward. You can wait for an arenanet official, but if you simple search the forum you will find out your effort will be futile and in some extreme cases even made the situation worse for the person.

Yip, you need to research architecture to level 2 first. level 1 cost 500 influence and level 2 cost 1000 influence. So a total of 2500 influence.

This has been discussed before. The planet is called Tyria and is a name. Therefor it is not translated from new krytan to english. When they talk bout e.g. soil or ground the word is translated to english calling it earth.

From a lore perspective it would be making sense if the game was in new krytan. But then again. I don’t speak it. And even among the lore-specialists only a few have mastered the translation and afaik none is fluent in it.

You say that but it’s not always true. My friend and guild mate recently got banned for sending 10g to another guild mate who needed it. He got banned for gold selling even though this wasn’t true. He appealed but was rejected and thus his account stayed banned. So yeah, it seems we do have to worry about getting banned for things we didn’t know were wrong.

Can you vouch beyond just trust that this person wasn’t involved in gold selling (or buying).

Many people know that buying gold is an illegal thing to do and know to not talk bout it, specially in game. So can you vouchfor your friend in the way that you can say, that you checked everything he did in and out of the game??. Otherwise you are just assuming your friend is right and anet is wrong.

The trigger might have been that he had sent a friendly 10 gold to another guildmate. But when a transaction is flagged not only the transaction is checked, but also where the gold came from and how your friend got so wealthy.

Im not verdicting your friend as guilty, but don’t blame anet either unless you can prove with hard evidence your friend is innocent. They have viewed and reviewed the logs and came to the same conclusion twice.

I have no clue how it was months ago, but now-adays it really depends on the server. Some servers (in my experience the onse good and active but on WvWvW) dont have big groups of people zerging the temples. Others actually do. In the events section are threads where people are reporting what temples are free on wich server. Even if there is no current report, you can see wich servers do it often and you can guest there.

The main difference is that unlike this person, you got a warning telling you it would become soulbound and you clicked equip in that message.

The thread we are talking bout was bout a vendor purchase where the person didn’t get a warning that the item wasn’t suitable for his professions and through that mistake he ended up with something he couldnt use.

You however got a warning (wich you ignored) and ended up with an item you can use.

I see a lot of debate here bout what people expect from support. and though I never played it, I suspect most are former blizzard-customers.

There are two really important differences.
a: within the blizzard businessmodel they want to keep you as an addcited and happy customer. They know you are addicted and are doing what they can to keep you addicted cause thats how they make money.
b: within the Arenanet businessmodel they only want you happy as long as it is proffitable. Where is the profit in giving you a refund?? what do they gain?

Bottom line is that despite two level’s of warnings you made a mistake. They dont have any reason to help you or to symphatise with you.

You keep on making arguments and refuse to face your own responsability.
Im not here to kitten you off, but im helping you by warning you that you have wrong and false expectations what support of a free to play game actually is willing to do for you.

Afaik, Sweet FX only improves your graphics. So you don’t get an unfair advantage and its shouldn’t be a problem.

make sure you are not in combat. many times the local wildlife chases you. So go back there. do not put the goggles o, turn around, kill everything attacking you and after you make sure you are out of combat you can put the goggles on.

OP: they don’t want reporting to be easier then it allready is. this so there is a treshhold to stop people rage-reporting innocent people. (and yes that happens a lot).

I’m not 100% sure but I do think this reaction has to do with a program I came acros a few weeks ago. I’m not giving the name or too much details bout it, but the description was claiming to do what you have been seeing. Off course I haven’t tried it.

So Arenanet is making work of banning accounts that are botting or exploiting. If you see a bot but don’t have the means to report them with their account name, make sure you report the incident in the botting hot spot thread.

As far as I know this sort of information is kept until the next server reset. After the reset things like location and character name in the guild roster, they stay empty until the next time the person logs in.

An officer in my guild is ‘unknown’ in the guildroster but in mount maelstrom on my friendslist.

I know this whole system is a bit buggy, but basicly it has nothing to do with invisable status but with the server keeping track. There isnt a fixed timelimit either, so it isn’t any source of information.

Support is going to review his ticket and posting it here won’t speed that proces up.
The maximum reaction time for a ticket is 72 hours. If it takes longer then he can post his ticketnumber in the sticky.

The rata sum jail isnt a glitch.This is programmed that way, prolly to prevent people from exploring too much under the cube. I have two other methods that work for all types of characters.

Go to the balcony thats above the river. Slide down on the right side and land in the water dead. Now there are two options to get alive.

a: Use a revive orb. You can swim around, go on shore, but after an x amount of time (i think its 30 seconds or so) you’ll be transported to jail.

b: Be in a party with someone who needs the personal story in an instance in rata sum. (normal instances don’t work, only story ones). When down in the river and dead, let that person start the story and join in. Do the story and let the person leave. As soon as your kicked your kicked to jail.

The armor even does exist, just not available for players atm. Countess Anise is wearing it.

This is just another proof of their automated banning system.
I’ve had 6 guild members been banned so far in the last couple months, 2 for emailing gold and 4 for “botting” , 3 of them were farming mats for their legendary in Southsun Cove. No emails were ever sent with an explanation as to why they were banned or anything just the error box as they were trying to log in.
They all got their accounts back thankfully but 3 have since quit the game all together due to the unjustified bans and the fear of putting in more game time to just have it all go away in an instant.
Heck now I won’t even step foot in Southsun Cove due to the fear of be mistaken for a bot or even use the mail system to send anything to anyone, even to my alt account. It sucks that you have to always worry about the “ban” hammer dropping on you for normal game play.
I understand that they’re trying to get rid of botters and gold sellers but too many innocents are being taken down in the process. So their guilty until proven innocent stance has to end or more good people will leave the game.

Anet has stated more then once that people are NOT banned automaticly. Everything is reviewed and if one is banned falsly that is a human made mistake.

It is against the rules to advertise an exploit. Thius is the main reason they never tell us. Even if an exploit is closed, they don’t to prevent people to get creative.

As for the OP’s question. It depends a bit on the situation. There is a bug in brisban wildlands where an event is running all the time in the area of a heart. This makes doing the heart a lot easier and I do that everytime when im exploring there. This bug has been around for months. Technicly its an exploit bu I never had any trouble or ever heard someone got in trouble.

How much faster are you making profit??
So the main question is wether you are using the bug or mis-using it.

As for how secure the game is.
I know of two major incidents where the game database was compromised (hacked). In both situations the company’s involved announced it fully and without outside pressure. The first I know was a breach in the security of the Sony playstation network. The second was Blizzard.

In the end it comes down to trust. If you don’t trust Anet you shouldnt be playing this game. Anet officials have stated that if their database is breached, they will let us know. This announcement never happened. I am going to assume that they are clear and all hacks are cause of client security issues or third party security issues.

I have heard many claims of people saying they where not doing anything wrong and for my guild I have investigated a few. In the end the cause of the hacked account was always found and it wasnt anet’s fault.

For those asking what the exploit was. It is against the rules to advertise exploit methods, so dont expect to even get a hint.

For those who appealed the decission: it takes 72 hours max for support to get back to you. I know that sucks, but it is as it is.

I really doubt that. Eventhough my last experience with customer support was good, this was the first good experience Ive ever had with it. Once Ive answered the support email saying “thanks, the problem was solved” and I got a reply like “we will investigate further to see why you still have the problem”. I was like wth? So, if they read the tickets (and I dont think they usually do), they have huge comprehension problems.

This has been said a few times before but I try again.
I have worked for a telephone company at the complaints department. I also worked at the support department. Support is by customers considered as a free service. This is why most company’s offer free support. Support isn’t free for the company however. It cost money.

This game is free to play and therefor has a low-quality support department. Specially compared to pay to play games. The support agents have very limited time and therefor are bound to make mistakes easier. This is no excuse. Not reading well is not the standard nor ever should be. But the budget and the targets are the reasons. Part of this can be solved by training but for the rest there would be need to either make gw2 pay to play or pay to get support.

Another part of the situation is the cultural difference and expectations. I have seen an article once bout the different attitude towards customer support by europeans and americans.

I’m overcharging and generalising here, but typical it would be like this:
Lets see the issue can’t login to gw2.
An American player would wait 3-4 hours.
then reset his modem and router.
Use the internet to look-up the errorcode.
Use any tips and hints he can to solve the issue.
Finally when all options fail he would contact support and open a support ticket, excusing them for troubling them.

An European player would:
Open a ticket and type: CANT LOGIN FIX IT NOW: I WANT TO PLAY AND IM HYSTERICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just for the record. I’m european. The above are stereotypes but reality. For support it is important that despite lack of funding and despite cultural differences, to handle each ticket with the same respect.

Now, as a customer you can get angry bout not getting a proper respond to your thank you note or understand the above and smile understandingly.

The price of gems went through the roof when they introdcued two new dye packs and the molten pick. All three items are limited things, so they will be removed from the store later on again and very lickely making the price of gems drop again.

There are three buts.
a: there is a different reason for the increase.
b: Anet decide to change the hot item (very likely the molten pick) to a permanent.edition for the simple reason it is very populair and therefor profitable.
c: right after the pick they add a molten sicle or molten axe.

So is it now a good time: No!
Will there be better times: maybe!

100% map completion is a very different achievement then the shiverpeak explorer achievement.

100% map completion = visiting all poi and wp’s, watching all vista’s and doing all skillchallenges and renown hearts.

Shiverpeak explorer achievement means you unfog all parts of the shiverpeak maps.

e.g. Griffonhook run is a part of the map you must unfog for the explorer. There are however no poi’s, wp’s, skillchallenges, vista’s or hearts in that part of the map, only a jumping puzzle. So you prolly missing that area for the explorer achievement.

If you finished wayfairer foothills before the march 26th update you don’t have to get the PoI. basic rule, once you get the reward for finishing the map you don’t need to go back.

mod’s dont look into personal issues and problems. You need to file a support ticket for that.

That means that is the bare minimum to play the game. And yes you can play on 10 fps. If you don’t like it the performance you should get a better system.

Very likely not. Your character bags and bank is transferred with you. only items in a guildbank will not transfer with you. Besides that the tradepost is allready a cross-server system. So I would be very very surprised if the items don’t transfer with you.

Im not saying your bad, but ye the temples are fine.

I have had the problem that I needed gear from balthasar and it was contested on my server. Now I’m used that every few hours, the event is being done on my server, but i didn’t want to wait. So I guested to another server to find out to my astonishment that the people in mapchat didn’t even know what a temple was. I guested to another server wich had the event running on the moment I arrived. I helped them out (a massive zerg of people) and it was done in no-time.

It turned out the first server I guested to was a high ranking WvW-server.
Bottom line, your not bad, but your world prolly is.
Try guesting to other servers and do them on there.

How did you file the bug report?? There are basicly three ways.
a: out here. This goes directly to the dev’s. no personal action is taken.
b: the ingame bug report function. This goes directly to the dev’s. no personal action is taken.

So today, after the server maintenance yesterday, I had a terrifying encounter with the normally reliable Black Lion trading co. I bought an item for 4 gold. The purchase took a long time…. finally it said “Error, the item you requested is not available at this time.” To my horror, the gold it cost was taken from my account, but the item was nowhere to be seen. I waited for a few minutes in terror. Finally the item appeared in the delivery window, but only after I found it on recent transaction history and clicked on it. Then, thinking the server was just slow, I sold a 20 silver item. This time it seemed to go well, but I never got the 20 silver. The AH took the item, but never paid up. I never got that 20 silver period. Gone. Anyone else having these issues? First time for me in a year of play.

Though technicly this is indeed a bug, you still need to file a support ticket to get your money back.

1: every class is welcome in a good groups. groups that are refusing a class are groups not worthy of your talent cause they stink and are smelly.
2: the amount of welcomness i told bout in point 1 depends on your personal qualitiy’s. the first thing that people might judge you on is your gaming skill. But other things count as well. e.g. your friendlyness and you kindness. I know that the best guildleaders are great at leading but incredible bad players.
3: don’t feel uncomfertable cause of what others are saying. judge yourself.

No it is a bug but a known one. If you are attacked when mining you have a small change to trigger this bug where you get ruined Ore’s. This has nothing to do with the molten alliance pick but happens to all picks and other gathering tools.
