Putting traits in vitality and toughness increases your durabillity a lot. The IV trait effect for vitality is an awesome last-resort protection, cause it instantly recharges your healingskill.

Condition duration isn’t really needed with a flamethrower. the reason is that all skills apply bruning condition all the time, so you basicly have them burning anyways.

My advise, respec, put more in vitality an thoughness traits (i got 20 in touchness and 10 in vitality).

I got 30 point’s in firearms (precission and increased condition damage) but I use a rifle as my alternate weapon.

In Orr it is unadvisable to target 8 risen at a time when solo-farming. Avoid larger groups or try to split with a ranged weapon (rifle).
Risen are very sensitive to burning so a flamthrower as you main source of damage is good for larger and smaller groups

I don’t think he gets money from this, nor do I think he actively gets people to spread the videos for him – most of the folks who link his videos just don’t know that the topic has already been discussed to near death when WP covers it.

Youtube has a partner program that if you hit a certaintreshhold of viewers (wich he hits) you can get a percentage of the advert-incomes on your vid’s. It is fairly easy to become a partner and make some money out of youtube. I have no doubt that he is participating in this program, although I can’t prove it.

All jumps can be done without using skills and without using speedboosts. But they are made to be challenging. A few advices:

a: if using a char, do not look at the front paws. (due to the size and animation of jumps they are the most horrible to jumpwith.
b: it’s never W+space at the same time, you press w and 0.01 seconds later you press space. This is so in all games.
c: understand the visable edge and the invisable edge. In some cases there is a big difference, special on bigger sized character. So to get the char example again, it may look that a char only have the back-paws back nail on the ledge and you are still standing. Experiment with this in towns with low fences.
d: practise makes perfect. If you are wating for a friend to do something in the game, do not stand still but go practising, jump on top of fences, find the boundery’s and challenge yourself to get to places you didn’t know you could get to.

I would kindly ask people to not judge a friends/sisters/brothers/girlfriends/etc suspension as wrong on Arenanet’s side untill he ticket is resolved. The reason is that I don’t judge any person wrong until the ticket is resolved, but their account has been raised with a warning flag. This has resulted in a review from a GM who decided to suspend. Please file a ticket and be patient.

In the recent spree of bans I haven’t seen reactions in other threads older then 72 hours from people that they where re-instated nor that they still disagree with the decission. This might mean that the explaination support gave was maybe not good news, but made them understand what they did wrong.

Besides that, it happens very often that people actually know the full reason but are reluctant to tell specially to those who they like and/or love the most. Blaiming it on Anet without waiting for the support ticket to be resolved is in my opinion unfair. If they made a mistake they will rectify it and learn from it. If they goofed up big they will publicly say sorry too. But jumping to conclusions and not giving them a change to explain it to the account-owner through a ticket is unfair.

So in short when you are banned and you don’t recognise you in the reason stated in the access denied message you should do the following:

b: wait for the reply and read it.
c: if you disagree with the reason given to you by support, reply to them with the arguments and if possible evidence. Be co-operative and stay friendly.
d: If your ticket is fully closed with no change of reply and appeal, then you can ask here for a senior staffmember to have a look at it.

What I think went ‘wrong’ is that with the order you allready gave your friends e-mailadress. But you should have given your adress there. then you recieve the gamekey, wich you give to your friend. your friend goes through the normal process of making a game account and using the key with his own emailadres.

The purchase was raised suspiccisious cause you gave them indication thatyour creitcard detail where being stolen cause of suddenly using a different mailadres.

From the attachement it seems your ticket is still open and you should provide them with the information they are asking for.

If you can’t come to a good solution with support you are free to ask Gaile. She is however extremely busy and can’t handle all requests. So make 100% sure you are stuck and can’t resolve it on your own. Als make sure you post the ticketnumbers here so she can actually check the information.

Welcome to the world of ANet support. I just recently dealt with them for another issue and I can tell you, “support” is a term I would use very loosely.

I believe the problem is that they simply aren’t required, properly trained, or given the power to really do much of anything beyond formulating cut n’ pasted replies. It’s like calling the customer service for mobile phones or ISP’s.

At least in those cases you can request to talk to someone in charge, but ANet bounces support tickets around to various people, which means that the story must be explained and understood by every new person. The problem is of course when one of those people just wants to go home for the day and fires off a generic response.

I sympathize with your situation. I wish ANet would come up with a better solution for dealing with events that lead to account termination.

In all honesty, my advice would be to not let it go. Continue to pursue it on, and off this website. I think too many people simply grow frustrated and give up. But this only serves to reinforce the spotty customer service.

I work for a mobile phone company for the complaints department. Although I totally understand your frustartion and I hear it a lot there is another view to this matter.

Yes they often use copy/pasteanswers. The comany demands it so reply’s are unified.
Yes resources are low and the amount of pre-experience and trainig on the job is low. Yes internally this is discussed a lot. But research clearly indicate that how high your phonebill is, is the No1 reason peoplechoose for company A or B.

What people don’t realise is that quality cost money.You are actually paying for the support and for the quality of support. Cause you are dealing with commercial company’s they have to charge you more for better quality support.

Back to GW2
This is a game with no monthly fee’s. They have delivered a high quality game with reasonable good servers. But customer support is lighter then e.g. Blizzard. But Blizzard is ripping people off with a monthly fee.

First off all, in GW1 they didn’t wanted you. They trusted you in gw2 really early on cause they wanted to recruit you. So thats why you know bout them.

The second reason is that they are present in all towns, but you only recognise them cause they introduced themselfs to you. Thats why you know the emblem and some of the titles. Keep in mind half of the titles you only know cause of gw1.

So (if you didnt join them) they tried to recruit you, and revealed part of them. So you know bout their existence cause of that. If you visit the HQ, outside the cave is a tent with an npc that tries you to tell you there is nothing of interest in that cave (if your not OoW).

The main problem you are facing is that the gw2 story is different for every of your characters. Try see it through your non-OoW characters and forget what you allready know. GW1 had one story line, telling one story, GW2 has so many variations on the story, you actually know too much if you have more then one character or have helped people with their story.

I know im prolly hunting a ghost, but after I tried searching the gw1 wiki for the term vigil i was shocked that one of my favourite landmarks showed up:

If you compare the armor of the statue the gloves and specially the boots have even some simularity’s with the vigil armor in gw2 (though the helmet is totallydifferent and the rest is too less to recognise).

The durmand priory name originates really clearly with Durmand. The OoW means they hide in whispers and are spies. But where does the name Vigil come from (beside from english meaning the eve of war, and the awakeness)??

what puts me off tbh is that he is making money this way and constantly finds people to plug it. Specially cause after clicking the vids here his plugged vid’s he appears in my youtube recomended list, but only way to see it is him again is to click it.

There are many good youtube video’s out there. Especially guides, but i don’t want to see him or see his advertisements all over the web. Where most systems have a way of blocking a user, afaik, youtube misses that option. No there isn’t you need to keep track of it yourself. It resets at midnight UTC. as far asI and the wiki knows it doesnt follow daylight saving time (as UTC).

The best way to check is your daily achievement. You will always get some points in your daily achievement when you do stuff, so if that resets, also the dungeon rewards have reset.

My issue here is two part:

1) In no way did anyone from Support explain what actually happened (why is there a discrepancy between the termination clause I see in the launcher against the termination clause provided by support? )

1: The reason there is a discrepancy should be obvious for someone with your background. The supporttool they use needs them to choose an option for why they suspend you. They obvious clicked the wrong reason when doing so. This is annoying, but no reason to unsuspend you.

2: They do not to show you evidence and in many cases can’t and won’t. The first reason is very practical. You are a bad guy (according to them) and they dont want you to know how there search methods work. By giving evidence this means you get inside information on what info they are gahtering and you know better how to program your bot to stay undetected. The second reason is that they don’t have to. There is no monthly sub and in the eula you agreed to it is actually stated in such way they can stop your access to the service anytime they want and they dont have to give a reason.

So to shorten your appeal (cause thats what it is): You don’t recognise yourself in this suspension and you want a senior staffmember re-evaluate the evidence.

are you the leader of your guild?? if not have your tried the following:

(ask your leader before you do this and explain why)
leave the guild
get your guildleader to reinvite you
accept the invite
ask the leader to give you your oldrights back.

It seems there is some corrupt data in the guildroster, very likely cause the guildroster still thinks you are called your old name.

If this doesn’t help then I think the support answer is the right one. They dont have ways to fix this either and you have to wait till the dev’s find a fix. You are also right that this is likely a low priority-fix

They really need to have a ticket to resolve this.

Mouby: I truly think your problem is different. Whenever support sent you to this forum, they do so cause it isnt something messed up with your account, but something you can do or understand or mis-understood. It is the polite way of saying learn to play.

What do you mean with new and old name? what dit you do to get a new and a old name?? Why do you have yourself in the friendslist??

Please try to explain again your problem and from a to z and include the reaction of the support specialist that handled your ticket.

Both of your accounts will propably be flagged. This means a gm will study the transaction. A GM is a human being and therefor not flawless. It is possible you get suspended. It is however not against the rules, an appeal takes 72 hours to resolve and I suspect the risk having this is very very slim.

So you have maybe a 0.1% change you are accidently banned for a maximum of 72 hours.

Make sure however there is good proof you know eachother
- Be in the same guild for a prolonged time.
- Be in each others friendlist for a long time.
- Make sure you discuss what your doing in pm’s and inthe emails so it is clear what the circumstances are.

You cant delete your account. The game is free to play and your allowed any moment in time cause you paid for it. you can file a support ticketto ask e.g. to change your emailadress to e.g. a newly made gmailaccount.

You could decide afterwards to never log in to that acount ever again.(though as a fan of the game I would say your loss off course :P )

First off all, support wont believe you on trust, you need some proof of ownership. the reason is that sadly hackers are smart enough to pretend to be you as good and better as you can do it. So they really need solid proof.

First off all, this is not GW1
The reason im saying it is as you where mentioning, gw1 was bout selfish goals, you running a dungeon, others paying you to get it done. Don’t get me wrong, im not convicting you or judging, just pointing it is a different game. The survivor title was a mistake in my opinion cause it is taken from gw1 and put in here but very much bugged.

This game expect you to be social, that aslo means sacrificing yourself for another. We have too many trains (people only running) allready, while it should be engouraged to jump in to help another. That is the power of this game and it is working.

I never got the gw1 survivor title. The reason is that i gave up. The last try was when it was still character bound, needed one more boss to kill and capture his skill. I lagged, got back was killed and never looked at it again. In my opinion it was bugged in GW1 as well.

But I just looked, and I got the title in GW2, never tried, never noticed i had, dunno how i got it but I did.

Like I said, imo this game is bout willing to die for another, not willing to live.

My guild doesnt recruit in the sense of spamming in chat. It is our experience you meet people and make friends when you play the game. This results in more ‘durable’ members and friends. having this title on when you meet someone makes it easier to be recognised while acutally playing the game.

A fairly easy suggestion now the titles are more visable:

Any guildmember that has the right to recruit new membersgets the title ‘Guild Recruiter’

My brother’s account, Galadrist.7052, was also banned around the same time, allegedly for “modifying or tampering with the game.” He’s already contacted support but I thought I’d voice my concern here as well.

He plays on the weekends mostly and is a casual player and is not tech savvy lol. He doesn’t “hack” or much less use 3rd party programs/macros. He just logged on a few nights ago and bam, banned lol. He has no reason, and certainly not the expertise to do these alleged hackings.

Anet, I strongly recommend looking at both these incidents (and maybe more) very closely as it sounds very similar to bannings that happened 5 months ago based on “corrupted data”. Because, one thing we can think of is my brother bought a extra bank slots when it was on sale a month or so ago. Did Anet suddenly check for these and wondered how he got extra slots cheap???

I totally understand you are trying to defend your friend, but pointing at a single isolated incident where a number of accounts where falsy banned, while in reality many accounts are rightfully are banned every day isn’t going to work.

This recent spree of exploit ban’s is after Arenanet deployed an update fixing 3 possible exploits. So I don’t think they have been reviewing wrong data, but have found one or two exploits and have looked back over the past months who have used this. I truly think all these bans are for people who used one of these exploits.

Hi, There is a difference between renown hearts and events.

Hearts are like traditional quests and almost fully tracked personally (each one doing them has a personal bar to fill in, you can only help eachother by making kills together. But when im doin g it with a stranger, and my bar is full i go. If you was really helpfull you even get a /bow. Bzut i got my reward the moment I leave,most likely cause I started earlier.

You might mean dynamic events. Those events are created to do with more people, and are ‘random’ encounters. the difficullty of the event scales up whent the amount of people doing the event goes up and it scales down in difficulty if people leave. All events, except the ones saying group-event are desinged to do solo as well.

The best example is the skale egg event in queensdale. If im alone, I have to visit each nest one time, pick up all eggs, hand the eggs to the collector and the event finishes in 8 seconds. There are 16 eggs needed then

If there are three there are 40 eggs needed. This is 2,5 the amount of eggs when solo-ing. If one leaves after lets say 20 eggs, then the remaining bar is filled with 10 more eggs.

Thats not what he has been asking for. But you actually are giving part of the right answer.

Add the name to your friendslist. If it can’t be added, the name is not taken but bugged in the system. The feel free to file a support ticket. If you can add the name, your name has been taken by someone else and it’s bad luck.

Arugz has allready his own thread. In there is detail explainations why the exact method of exploit isn’t discussed in public as well as his appeal. It can take up to 72 hours. Your helping your friend and thats worthy of you, but by doing so you are breaking the rules yourself. Don’t double post the same issue.

I’ve been looking into this, comparing wiki-list (wich is indeed wrong nowadays) with my own list and looked up all PoI’s on my map (100% completed) and compared it with your list. I couldnt find the missing point either.

My question therefor is: Is this the only thing missing?? If you have other things not completed on the map (e.g. personal story steps or Vista’s, Skillpoints or WP’s, it might be that the PoI-icon is hidden under one of those.

Yeah. The top servers, have queue’s, while the lower ones don’t have that (yip if the map is full you cant in till people have made room). Besides that, being on the top servers, also means you are facing the best skilled and experienced enemy’s to fight.

And beside the honour of belonging to the best it doesnt give you anything else. If you are a skilled player and want e.g. a lot of badges, go to a low tier server. If you are not good and want to be in good zerks to learn, go to mid tier.

Any guildmember can activate an npc your hunting. This is to have the right to activate any type of guildmission and to talk to the starting star to start for example the guild rush.

small hint, please say where you see an option. I really had to search to find you ment the permissions option

I wil take up to max 72 hours for support to reply. If the ticket isnt resolved in that amount of time you could file a ‘complaint’ in the sticky of this section of the forum. If the ticket is resolved, but you disagree with the outcome, this is the place to make ask Gaile to look at it. She is a wonderous woman, but can’t resolve all tickets on her own

Keep in mind you have to proof ownership. The way of purchase is here important. Personally I bought it at a local shop, so I would have a problem. All i have is the payment -proof wich was anonymous with cash, and it is in the same box as my code.

The best proof is if you paid with a creditcard on your name. But I suspect support is going to lead you through the process and answer how to handle.

I am truly sorry for you, but you made a mistake. Language-offenses are always looked at by a real person before your banned. So you basicly deserved the ban.

With all do respect, you know I value you highly here, but I have to disagree. How she is talking in that article and how this puzzle onfaulded after! the lost shores event shows they are placing the new living story on a different position of each players timeline. Just as due to the personalstory choiches some things never happened. Each timeline is independ. Your character might have saved the skrit from the destroyer queen while mine saved the Ogre’s from the branded ogre chief. So the timelines are (in detail) allready different for each player.

As you allready said in another thread, it seems that each map is on a different point in the timeline. Southsun cove is a different map added with the lost shores event and is therefore on a timeline after Zhaitan.

The word from a player perspective is higly important indeed here. As the game started you heared yourself say (in the video) ‘This is MY story’. I strongly feel that that is what they try to do with this living story thing as well.

While I personally love the idea, as I want to support Joko, but a lot of players don’t and this would make no one feel left out, it still generates the Factions problem. It splits the community in 2, something Anet wants to avoid at all cost. That’s why all the races are united against the EDs instead of fighting each other.

The fact of feeling left out could be undone by making it a serverwide decission, that is made e.g. weekly through a massive meta event. It could go three ways:

Neutral: nothing happens and no DE’s goes on on the nightfallmaps for a week, this will happen if people got bored and dont give a thing bout it.

Joko wins: Serverwide bonus effect ’Joko’s blessing’ every player steals health on critical. All dynamic events on the nightfall maps are based round establishing the reign of Joko.

Elonians win: Serverwide bonus effect ’Elona’s Blessing’ plus x amount of damage against undead. All dynamic events on the nightfall maps are based bout rebuilding elona to it’s former glory.

By adding special themed weapons and also armor that are only available if either side wins and by adding achievements tracks to both sides it should encourage all servers to let the other side win from time to time. Together with guesting you could always get and what you want

Well, you might want to ask Gaile very nicely if she has time to look into this. Keep in mind she is the support liason. She does a lot more then just listening to us and she is awesome in way she tries to help, but limited in her time. She prolly need your friends support ticket number.

What I don’t understand is that your friend is claiming to have an erromessage: ‘Connection Error’ while this specifick error doesn’t exist when looking at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Error_code (it’s either network error or connection problem). These all indicate a problem when connecting to the game servers. The support person however is telling that his key (account??) is locked.

I don’t want to stand between you and your friend, but something isn’t logical in the story as your presenting it here. It just don’t add up.

When an account or key is locked they can always explain you why. Besides that, it should result in a different error-message.

As I read it Angel is allready answering the puzzle (on this specifick topic), it is a side story and it is part of the players story on the moment you play the content. So if you do this after killing Zhaitan then it is after that. But if you just started. Well then it is before.

The colour of a weapon can not be changed in any way. There are however certain weaponskins that have the same model but different shading.

The first is a very normal drop, while the second is a dungeon token reward and much more difficult to get.

The temple of balthasar isnt designed to be a guild-activity, it’s a dynamic group event for larger groups of players. The fact that some guilds have enough members to do it without outside help doesnt make it a guild activity. In this case like other events it can be triggered by anyone. This is simular that many people don’t want temple of Grenth being defended, but contested so the chest event starts again. This still is an MMO, where everyone can influence the world, even a noob who doesnt know what they are doing.

There is however one other bug with it, wich might be the real reason of your trouble. This is the recent change in the risen nobles. At some points there are 5-6 of them and they spam their symbols on the npc’s that needs to stay alive and protected. This results in a failure and is considered an undesirable sideeffect of the change they made to these nobles. afaik Anet is looking into this, making all paths easy enough to do.

This is not a game bug. The problem is not in the game but on your computer in thet way your graphical card is rendering the terrain. So you might have better results asking in the tech support section.
