Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Short answer: nope…..
Longer answer: no there isn’t at the moment. Arenanet doesn’t find it needed to have a trial or demo. They have had an action in november where you could give people you know a pass for a limited amount of time (dont remember the full detail, but it gave full access during a weekend). The might redo that.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I know plenty of guilds that dont want you to represent all the time. Besides weekly participation in the bounty sounds like a good deal. You help the guild with merits, you get the reward.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
One of the devs posted a response to a previous thread asking about the Training missions. The answer was that you get nothing for succeeding in a Training mission. (Things might have changed since this was posted before the patch went live, but that was their previous answer.) From his response, the idea of a Training mission is to help learn how these events operate without eating up your standard Guild Bounty slots. Other than person knowledge, there is no point of doing a Training mission (unless ArenaNet changed their mind).
Thank you very much for clarifying this. Indeed unless you really need the influence or for training purposes, there is no use if you can do the actual bounty tier 1 or above.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
one thing that was missing from the blog post and update notes bout the new guild bounty training is the personal reward for a guildmember who participate.
The reason I’m asking is that we are an inbetween guild. We can with a bit of luck do the guildbounty tier 2. We have been following the startegy of guarding as many bosses we can as well as hoping for the best when we trigger it.
We actually could use the influence right now more, cause an officer made the mistake of going for the jumppuzzle first not knowing you need more then the bounty to unlock it.
But with tier 1 you have more change of atleast killing one boss and having the participating members get their reward.
So im really curious what the personal reward for the training is.

I have never been asked in AC to play elixer, most groups are very happy with my flamethrower. One person in a PuG once asked me to use actually the bom-kit, to wich I replied that I could but never really used it and have no experience with it, to wich he said, then never mind.
In a dungeon PuG there are speed-groups. In those it is perfectly good to be asked to have specifick skills, gear, traits and specs.
In regular PuG’s however this shouldn’t be asked in myopinion. If someone turns out to be lesser experienced, the group can give them some advise. The advice however to go use the elixergun means that the person asking don’t know how to protect him/herself and isn’t therefor in the right position to give such advise.
This is unless offcourse you joined a group thats doing it on speed.
The Elixergun is a very nice weapon, and I would advise you to use and practise with all kit’s in regular PvE. The beauty of the engineer in my opinion is that it is very versitile. So I would recommend you to try the other facets out as well. The daily achievements are very suitable for that.

Hi Thay and Gz!
I waited the update and want to say it is very doable now. So ty Jeffrey for fixing this. Did it with no problem in bout 20 minutes, no deaths or anything. Only one minor bug report.
You changed the acolyte’s level and the ability to summon. This is what I withness as well. But they still say that they summon in the desctiption under the name.
Maybe polish that tidbit up within the next update
Thanx for fixing this.

It’s a way of mimmicking natural behaviour.
If I knowck you off your feet, you get back up, but you need a moment before you get your orientation back and could start fighting me again.
And as for disrupting the flow, you should have your flow adepted to this

The letter of recommendation is for your guild to gain influence. You do get:
Level-dependent XP (though you are likely level80)
One of the following: 2x Flame Ram Blueprints, 2x Ballista Blueprints, Alpha Siege Golem Blueprints (used to build siege weapons in WvWvW)
Letter of Commendation (1000 influence for your guild)
3 Loot Bags (3 random pieces of green gear)
Pact Victory Token (you can trade this at a special vendor for a rare weapon with a specifick unique skin and theme: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pact_weapons )
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Leveling sure isn’t broken. GW2 as being said gives experience for bout anything. from doing hearts, dynamic events, but also just picking up some blueberries.
On itself I think this is a very good system cause it gives you the freedom to play the game how you want it and like it. However, they also wanted the leveling system to be rewarding. Meaning that you really like it when you gained a level and are happy, instead of thinking after a day of playing; ‘hmmm I made 10 level’s today’.
This means you need to do more then 1 activity. At the start of a character I usually do the following:
a: do you story-line till level 3
b: do the starter area of your race for the bit’s level 1-5 (mostly this is a rather clear and enclosed bit of the map). get all the hearts done there, skillpoints , PoI’s, waypoints and watch Vista’s.
c: Go to your hometown and explore it fully (all vista’s, PoI’s and waypoints).
d: Go to Lion’s arch and do the samething.
e: Go to another races home town and do the same thing
f: Go to this races starter area and get the level 1-5 part fully explored.
g: repeat this for all 5 races.
h: start doing your personal story further.
i: you should be level 15 now. Finish your own starter map and 1-2 other start maps.
j: you should be (if you followed your story too) level 25 now. and move to a level15-25 map.
I personally never do a map that has a maximum level thats above me. The reason for this is that I don’t like watching where I go (and wander of in parts of the map thats way too high for me).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
As far as I know, nothing like this exists. There was a crowd-building project, but I don’t think the maker is doing a lot and the crowd-building is shut down for ages now. This map doesn’t have tohe feature to put personal information on it.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Have you looked under “Explorer” in the Hero/Acheivments panel? There are 3 spots in there. They will show progress as well. There are areas not included in single map completions.
please do not confuse people with different kind of achievements. I know you mean it well, but those three titles don’t have a lot to do with the map completion chest the OP is missing and is actually letting him do more then needed (or actually different things). These three achievements are for unfogging all the map. You can do that without doing any heart, skillpoint and vista anbd also missing most PoI’s and WP’s if you want to. so it’s totally different.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Hmmmm,
No offense, but many people have complained here so far and in the end it always came down to 3 known issues (two you allready reffered to) or else the situation people didnt check it all.
first of all.. Did you do your personal sotry, especially the ones on Claw Island. if not, thats what you have to do (it is a level 50 story).
If that doesn’t help please take your time to write down or print this list:
- City’s -

The Grove
Lion’s Arch (thnx Devin for sending the PM)
- PvE-explorable area -

Im not a GM, but I disagree with your conclusion that it is not offensive.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmuck_
The name originates in Yiddish and is a name used to describe a kitten. It is in jewish family’s considered to be offensive.
The video you linked truly outdates the origin of the name and shows it is used as a word to compare someone with a kitten as well. So in my point of view I can understand someone takes it as offensive (though I personally wouldn’t mind it).

What I normally do when in need of money is empty my materials tabs in the bank. All materials I gather are going there. Mostly for crafting. But I tend to forget the traitbooks and in those situations I sell the lot and ge tthe money in an hour.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
My advise is to join a nice guild. Personally I’m on Gandarra. Even though many of us aren’t new, my guild is doing map completion 3 evenings per week. This can be any map high level to low level.

if you go to controls you can bind a button to take high quality/stereoscopic screenshot that automatically hides the UI while taking the screenshot without you having to manually do so.
Wasn’t that function removed after the betas? I couldn’t find it anymore when I searched for it a while ago.
Dunno, but you can use the -bmp command line argument.

yip the gemcards are the best option imo. Only alternative I can think of is buying gems, selling them for gold, sent the gold ingame to your friend so he/she can buy gems.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Since crafting gives you a fixed amount of xp, you get the most out of it for the last levels. Tbh you aren’t skipping levels anyway, the stuff you were doing for fun while levelling you still do at 80, you just have all the traits.
Thats why I asked ‘Why skip?’ If the answer is, I want to get 80 quicker, then I would say it’s a waste of money to just open up some traits.
If the answer is I want my crafting maxed anyway on this character. Then by all means do use it for XP.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Why skip??
It all depends off course how you play the game and what you enjoy and not enjoy. But personally I see a lot of people skipping things they later decide to get anyway when they are 80.
I know I am a completist and want all done always. But I now see a lot of people in my guild struggling and missing out on guild bounty chests just cause they neve have been there to that map. I’ve gone from 54 to 70 this weekend without more problems then before and actually made 3 gold.
After letting you read my promotion of saving money My answer would be 45-60, the level 60-70 maps are easy with the traits and skills available then. but the 45-60 maps are imo a pain sometimes.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
they are changing the stealth mechanic. For the class as a whole it doesnt make a big difference, and in PvE you won’t likely see a big difference. In PvP and WvWvW the class is harder to play, but afaik and have been reading and expecting only so it is more equal to other classes.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I don’t use the PTT, I have a headset with a mute button, and my audio in ts3 is activated when i make a sound. It takes some time to adjust it properly, but in the end you get a situation where you only have to mute to sneeze and couch. Off course this only works if you dont have to do much out of game talking.
I work at day at computer desk as well and I know that the trick for me is to follow all the rules at work, but not at home. The rules are great, but shifting often is more important. So im sitting on a char thats too low, a desk thats too high, but it is relaxing for me and I don’t have to think. I’ve tried following the rules 24/7 but that actually caused RSI for me.

a: no we don’t know. we no char territory extend further to the east. We also suspect the inland sea, to be the source of elona river.
b: We only know the location of one dragon and that is Zhaitan. The location of two is suspected (Kalkatorix in the crytsal desert and Jormag in the far shiverpeaks). Of bubbles, , primordus and mordremoth the location is totally unknown. (Yes Bubbles is somewhere in the unending ocean, but like the name is pointing out allready that area is too big to pinpoint her on the map.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
short answer: no
Transmutations can not be undone.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I don’t think there is need to change any game mechanics. This abusive action, as in forcing your opinion on others with caps in mapchat. It’s moraly wrong, so file a report ticket, to track down the person who placed them. They prolly get a 72 hour suspension to warn them that this kind of behaviour shouldn’t be and (hopefully) isn’t tolerated.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
First real answer: no. This game is build to counter tanks. The second asnwer as Dasorine pointed out, is more difficult.
Getting agro depends on a lot of things. First of all, and please dont take offense. The ranger is considered as a kiddy profession. I know thats not fully true and there are some very good ranger around, but there a are a lot of casual players on a ranger.
Secondly, a ranger on melee weapons in a dungeon should not happen. your too easy to kill in dungeons so dodge away from agro. Dodgin realeases 50% of agro on average.
Then how agro works
1: distances. the closer you are to a foe the more likely you get the agro.
2: amount of damage dealt. the more damage you deal the more agro you collect.
3: level, higher levels get more agro.
4: armor (including toughness) plays a part. but it is in my opinion a minor part, and the reason you struggle is very likely described earlier in my post.
However if you are on an european server and want my help in a dungeon im happy to help if it is the right time of day. I dont have a problem to review your actions and tell you why you are having trouble (fair and square).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I mainly play an Elementalist and am looking to branch out a bit. I’m hoping to roll an alt that is fun and varied.
Guardian: solid but can be boring
Thief: high damage, fragile but very few viable builds
Mesmer: lots of variability but can be frustrating
I started on an ele and really like it. I agree on the Guardian. I’m currently leveling one to 80 and it is fun ,but really fristrating cause it is just too easy. If you, like me want to haver another guardian in the guild cause you dont have enough of them, then do it. But it makes the game just too easy imo.
Thief: I dont play that, might try it ion the feature, tried it till lvl 5 but disliked it (and dont recal the reason(s).
Mesmer: No its not frustrating. Mesmers are easy to play if your good with an ele, but again very boring and straight forward.
My personal advise would be an engineer. beside my ele it is my main. they follow simular mechanics. But where the ele changes attunements, the engineer changes kits. Where an ele has a rather general set of skills for each attunement, the engineer has very specialised skills for every kit. They are the special ops, and every toolkit is another challenge to master.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Yes there is no problem with selling a guild (beside moral reasons like eXs pointed out, but that depends on the situation). The only thing I would like to point out is that a guild can’t be sold on the TP, and where in gw1 a lot of scammers existed, due to the TP a lot of them are out of business. The few hardocre ones (and the worse imo) however remains. and the selling of a guild comes down to trust…. so make sure they dont misuse you.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I never use Torches so cant answer your question directly.
But a lot of people dont know bout the full screen gamma option. It’s under F11 (options) and then graphic options. Put the slider all the way to the right. It looks very bad but also makes the dark rooms playable.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
In my opinion this is the wrong place for it, but should be under players helping players to get your question answered, suggestions to suggest a future that let you correct it or general gw2 discussion if you just want to complain
To answer your question: No there is not a way to redo the transaction (unless it is getting the tokens needed again)
My personal opinion is that you should look at yourself and not to Anet to solve this. People tread imo trasnaction in this game too easy and see buying e.g. dungeon armor the same way as e.g. getting a salvage kit. There is a big difference in buying a bread or buying a car. When buying a car I look very carefully at all the details before doing the purchase. Same is what you should have done in this case when you where getting the dungeon-item.
Don’t get me wrong I totally understand it, and I have made the mistake myself a few times. You are thrilled you finally got enough tokens, you rush to lion’s arch, Annoyed by the long loadingscreen, stumble over your feet on the bridge to the vendor and totally forget to be carefull. But I learned. If im too tired or have drunken alcohol I’ll wait till the next day to do the actual purchase.
Sorry for your loss though. Hope you get new tokens soon

Account issues can’t resolve this cause this is very likely not an account issue. My best bet would be to file a supportticket at https://en.support.guildwars2.com/
But maybe before trying that try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. This might very well be a client issue.

So ban the IP. If its a known hacker with a provable history then ban his IP. and for every one of these people that you find that you can prove that they are known for hacking and RMT, again keep banning these IP’s.
Or better yet, simply block access to china. In perpetuity. No more Chinese RMT hackers.
Those people are hackers. if Anet bans the ip all they have to do is go into one of their allready hacked computers in e.g. the UK and turn it into a router. Then the source IP would be the UK. IP-banning therefor has not a lot of result. It might very well be not a chinese hacker, but someone in e.g. North Korea using this innocent chinese computer as a relay.
Click the do not allow button, perform a clean install of windows, change your Guildwars password, and your emailpassword for the emailccount used and increase your personal internet security. Arenanet can’t do a lot against this issue cause the main problem is personal security. the solution against hackers is YOU!

If the guild leader is “suspended permanently”, that would imply that the account will be deleted at some point in the (near?) future.
As far as I know permanently suspended accounts are never deleted, but as the word implies permanently suspended. The amount of resources needed to keep an account are so small there is no need to delete them

But Gaile, for something that has been worked on for 4-5 months, and hardly being the size/complexity of an expansion pack, why is it so difficult for the dev team to make a proper statement about when this will come?
Many reasons.
A: It can be more complex then an actual expansion.
B: The dev team decides on priority’s and not us as players. Personally I make sure I pick a name I like and never have wished for a name change ever. I don’t mind having this feature in the game for those who want to use it, but I hope the dev’s are not wasting too much time on it but are also making improvements to the game I’m going to use and like.
C: It will be ready when it’s ready.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
In GW1 there was a system that if the guildleader is inactive for a certain amount of time he/she got demoted to the second lowest rank and the next one in line gets the leadership. afaik it hasn’t been tested in gw2 as of yet. There is a promotion system if the leader demotes himself to member or leaves the guild. So I suspect there is a demotion system over time as well for inactive guildleaders. How long that takes is unknown to me, but I doubt it will be shorter then three months.
The answer support has given surprises me. I really doubt there isn’t anything they can do (e.g. changing the former players account password, reinstating his account, logging in with those details, demoting the leader to member so a new leader is automaticly appointed and blocking the account again).
So saying they can’t help you is nonsense imo and they are not willing to help. Off course one could say and argue that a guild with a leader that is bad is a bad guild. But that would be the same as saying that all North Korean people are bad cause their leader is bad.
My advise therefore is to appeal the decission to not help you in this matter. You do so by posting on this forum in the account issues section here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account
You could refere to this post to not having to tell all. in my opinion if the leader is out of appeal options to fight his ban or a certain amount of time after the blocking has been passed, there should be a way for support (or automaticly) to demote him as leader of an active guild. I think the initial answe rof support comes from ther situation that they don’t have such an option. Appealing can (and in my personal opinion should) lead to the creation of such a policy. Off course I’m not support so it’S just my 2 cents.
Good luck!!

I have to disagree with youbout the water comming from north brisbane. I surprised me as well cause that what I thoguht to take a look. I’ve too that portion of the kessex map and draw in the the direction the streams go. But please feel free to check for yourself.
As for the bassin’s. Yeah, I know how it was in GW1. Those are the waters surrounding divinity’s reach. Im talking bout the delta to the north of it. Looking at global map it shows that that is prolly a sea in wich the great bassing flows with a delta (that delta always have been there btw). Besides that I don’t know if tidal waves and floods had much effect there. Otherwise the delta prolly had been destroyed.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
See my signature. ‘The last day dawns on the Kingdom of Ascalon’. Those words are the words the story starts with. Before the searing the great wall was keeping the char out. some got through but the mayority was kept behind it. After the events in pre-searing the actually searing happens wich destroyed the big wall and the char forces spread over the different lands. A big portion of them attacked Orr wich led to the Vizier (already influenced by the forgotten God) to cast the spell to sink Orr.

The trick is to leave the cannon button a few times to clean undead.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I’ve been wondering a lot bout how the water in the world flows. Though many times it seems that water flows from the seas north of divinity’s reach to the sea of sorrow’s. This would mean all water in those rivers should be salted water and not drinkable. This isn’t true. Besides that, the sea to the north doesn’t let water flow inlad, cause the connection is clearly a delta (to the west of divinit’s).
So i have been studying it more. It seems that there are some mystical springs between maps.
Lets first of all look at the waterflow round Fort Salma in Kessex Hills. At the fort from two waterfalls the water enters from the edge of the map (so from the water near Claypool) into the map. very soon it splits. One stream goes south and into Viathan lake, the other goes west and north to the pastel drawing that leads to the big delta.
So it looks like the source is the water near Claypool. But!! that water goes into that lake by a waterfall that seems to come from Fort Salma. So to me there must be a huge spring on the mapborder between Queensdale and Kessex hills…..
Anyone has a lorewise explanation to this, Any other strange waterflows (besides that allmost all water seems to end in swamps).

First question?? Why spend 100 gold!! on a character??.
Beside the three books (3g10s) you don’t have to spend anything when leveling a character.
Second Question: Are you sure you wanna switch? You might want to go ot the ele section and ask around there for hints an tips. Or find a good WvWvW guild on your server and ask them for advise. I know an ele can really well be build as a tanky-ish character. People consider them squishy, but that doesnt have to be the way. It is all in the traits. Yes it might be that the playstyle needed is not your thing but that is not the classes handicap, but your own. So your statement that it is suicidal with all nukes and sieges would mean imo you blame the class for your own problems and then you will hit it with any other class (sorry to put it so blunt, but specially in WvWvW there is no class that has a -push a button and win- option, so failing at an ele and not fully understanding why means it is hard to make a different class as well).
Mesmer and Thief if played right are the two best options for WvW. There are some amazing builds out there that are relativly easy to play. I don’t think the upcomming update wich is against culling and not against stealth is going to change a lot.
Warrior isi nice and ok. Easy to play and indeed more your playstyle if you don’t want to think bout survivability. Just keep in mind that a warrior if played badly is as bad as an ele.
Hope you are not offended by the way im putting things. I’m trying to help you

the only music made by the game you can hear there is Fear not this night. It is really not something different (and sorry to say it so blunt but im 100% sure the music there is Fear not this night.
However!. I see another player between the bells. If you are really sure it is something different, maybe this player is using http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Choir_Bell . In that case you have to ask the specifick player if the piece of music he is playing has a name.

The best trick for e.g. krytan exploration (if you got 100% completion on the maps) is to look the maps (explorable zone or city) up on the wiki. Look for any area on the maps that hasn’t got a heart, skillpoint, PoI, Vista or Waypoint, and check out if it is named on your ingame map.
This is the way I got all but krytan explorer. This cause momoztli grounds in bloadtide coast is very late unfogged (behind the heart and PoI that are there).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Again I don’t believe there will be a new playble profession, but I agree that it would prolly be heavy armor. I would say that the concept of the chronomancer (from the cancelled Utopia project, see concept art here http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/7/78/%22F_Chronomancer_Standard%22_concept_art.jpg ). Yields some nice possibility’s. I know some elements of the Crhonomancer are present in the mesmer. So this should be an unique thing. I see it as a profession that uses time and dimensional portals to replace all over the battlefield. Besides that they can summon creatures from analternate dimension (steam creatures are lore-wise likable here cause of the infinity-ball story-line). This makes the Chronomancer very OP. To counter this, the summoning and portalling takes a lot of the Chronomancer, making it weaker(weakness?) wich stacks up and won’t go away till out of battle.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I suspect you are talking bout races…
In my country there is a huige debate between two nature loving factions. One is very against the way animals (in this case chickens) are being treathed in what they call chicken factory’s (plop-chickens). They are saying that every chicken that has to be eaten had to have had a healthy life. The other factions is stating that this is very nice, but those healthy chickens with a good life are producing 5 times more gasses that disrupt the ozon layer, and are therefore worse the planet as a whole.
The reason im saying this is that in Tyria there are two races that fill your description. On one hand there are the Norn. They believe in the spirits of the wild and honour the beasts they hunt as gods. Onm the other hand there are silvary, who honour all that grows and see the land itself as an entitiy and a godlike creature.
This is picking between two totally different points of view and approaches.i so lets return the question: Are you an animal protector or against polution??
And wich one more??
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Yip they are Largos. And to be honest they are reasonable common before meeting Sayeh, You can find atleast 5 of them in lower level area’s in events. And I think the dialogue with Traeharne explains pretty well who and what she is. if not she explains it yourself during the mission if you simply ask her. So i totally disagree with all of a sudden. So I assume you are opening lootbags right?? if you are using those keys to press e.g. G1 to automaitcly open all lootbags in your inventory that is an unfair advantage. However if you press the same button and one lootbag is opened that should be ok. (mousebutton click or G1-key click is basicly the same action).
