Not 100% true.
Every account gets 3 points for free (linking accounts). Besides that it is possible to put titles obtained in pre-searing in the HoM by talking to Kimmes The Historian in Ascalon City (pre-Searing). The maximum amount of titles you can obtain there are 5 titles. but all 5 are hard to get titles, some takes even years of playing (and you can never leave pre-searing).

But you will get 3 HoM points if you own any campaign. If you got prophecy’s you have the potential to get 5 more points (but two is more realistic really).

Gaile reacted to a suspension, and she is right. If you got suspended then the first thing you should do is file a support ticket and SIT OUT the queu. This takes a maximum of 72 hours. If it takes longer you can use the sticky in here to report this.

If you have valid reasons to disagree with support you can ASK Gaile to review the decission. This appeal isn’t garanteed.

Do not skip support and do not go straight to Gaile. She is very marvelous and wonderous, but no superwoman. She doesn’t have time to replace support on her own.

Some myths bout suspensions:

Anet suspends automaticly: Not true. All suspensions reviewed manually. There are detection systems in place that flags accounts as suspiccious, but suspension is done after manually reviewing the data. This doesn’t mean the GM can’t be wrong.

Anet doesn’t inform bout the reason for the suspension: Not true. You see the reason when you try to log in.

Anet doesn’t share proof of not allowed actions: True. But there is need for that either. Within the user agreement you signed you agreed with the fact that Arenanet can exclude you from their services whenever they want and without a valid reason. Sharing proof means giving people insight in the systems being used to track unwanted actions.

I half agree with you. Finding out what they sell should be limited to talking to the guy toprotect the RPG-element. But it might be a good thing to have a different icon for general merchants, food merchants and special merchants.

A small tip for you: General merchants are always found near or in the bank.

There is and need to be a balance.
On one hand the game needs to make money. The gemstore is a great way for doing so. On the other hand, the advatage of having money shouldn’t be too high. The main question should be if someone with less money has valid reasons to feel left out.

I do not see it that way. I have very limited money in real life but there is nothing in the gemstore I feel like I’m really missing.

first off all this person is violationing with the Code of Conduct and should be suspended. In my personal opinion lifetime.

But this will likely not happen. The reason is proof. Can you actually proof it is this guy? No, this is an outside source and althought the timing might make it seems to be likely, there is no solid proof. The only way round this is if he also broke a rule in game (e.g. verbal abuse by pm-ing you).

In both cases you might want to file a supportticket here: https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ (ask a question). Even if Arenanet can’t do anything bout it, it is important for them to have statistics on how often this type of harashment happens. This is also important for e.g. deciding an lfg-tool should exist ingame.

To explain a little bit more. The black lion-window is actually a webbrowser, but fully embedded within the game. For the technology Arenanet uses the awesomnium browser. This piece is software is specially made for this.

However it isn’t bug free and tends to go stuck.
See the tradepost/gemstore/etc as a separated computer program and troubleshoot it that way and it should be resolved. Good to hear you got it running again.

a possible trick to rule out hardware/driver issues and pinpoint it at your computer is to use an alternative internetconnection. A few ways to do this

a: phyiscly bring the computer to another line.
b: use the wifi from a neighbour (ask permission!)
c: use your mobile phone as a modem (check your price-plan if it is allowed).

Off course use this as a test. If through a different ISP your FPS is back on 45+you know it is an issue with your ISP and should give it y try to get them to fix it and if they are unwilling, then leave them for a proper one.

If the FPS is low on a different computer your problem is with your hardware or your drivers.
Im not an expert on that level, but my first idea would be to actually run older drivers (the one you used when the game was first released and worked fine). Updated drivers are not always better drivers.

It is what Fanged is saying. A guild invite that is pending counts as a guild-membership. The errormessage is a bit strange cause I think they first wanted it to appear for the invitee and changed it later to the inviter.

Skipping fights means your actually choosing to play it in a way that is different as it is designed. They programmed fights in it so you actually do it. afaik, all your ’ bugs’ are cause you are skipping fights. I know everyone is doing it and on itself it isn’t a problem, but it isn’t a bug.

Ask a question is the place to go. Do not worry bout selecting the wrong category, if it ends up at the wrong department it will be forwarded internally.

Do not bump a bug report. They are all seen by the dev’s.
It looks however you have a personal problem, so best is to not file a bug report but to file a support ticket. You will get a respond!

First of all it isn’t illegal to use it (as far as I can judge), but it is a third party program so also unsupported (meaning you use it at your own risk).

The second question is why you think or suspect this will solve your issue??
You are actually rerouting traffic, making the route from and to the anetserver longer. Keep also in mind that the eu-servers are in europe. It might! solve your problem, but I suspect you need a different solution.

The real problem is very likely with your ISP (internet service provider) wich are either limiting bandwidht to and from the anet server or are accidently routing traffic in the wrong way.

There are two good solutions:
a: get your ISP to solve the problem
b: get a different ISP.

Last remark is that using a ‘spoofed’ IP-adress might flag your account as suspiccious. The reason is that those IP-adresses are often used by people who want to hide their identity and are up for no good. Those people include:
Hackers
Goldsellers
Botters

The detection method used by Arenanet to track those people down are unknown, but it might be that you are falsly flagged and suspended just cause you are doing this. This will result in the earlier statement as well that it is a third party program and you use it at your own risk.

Bottomline:
Yes it is legal to use it, but if it solves your problem at all it solves it in a work-around way. Besides that you might get in trouble you actually want to avoid.

So my personal advise is to not do it.

I do my monthly events in Queensdale.
The area between Phinney Waypoint and Vayle Waypoint has bout 8 events, 2 of them spawn every 10 minutes, it’s close to the shadow behemoth and whenever there is no event going on you can kill veteran trees for your monthly veteran killer.

This might be not a bug. Many upgrades have a required level. This level is not the level of your character, but the level of the gear your trying to apply it to.

There are no maps locked. There might be maps that are not developped yet, but we can only guess where they are. Southsun cove is the only Sea of Sorrow’s map that is implemented and ready to play. It can be visitied by talking to an npc in LA (it has a sailing boat above the head).

Apparently someone else was playing on my account with a new character which already reached level 80.

I did get the email about someone trying to login in from a different location. I thought it was a fake gw2 email. So I ignored it. I really had no clue.

So yeah, pretty angry about it as he also played a few minutes with my character. Changed my Email password and my GW2 password. So it should be fine now. I hope.

No it isn’t. If someone hacked your account you should do two things always:
a: file a support ticket. This way Anet can gather information bout hackers.
b: review your computer security. A hackers is called an hacker cause they infiltrated your computer. So scan for unwanted software, use an alternate free scanner if nothing is found, and make sure you have the latest updates installed.

The reason Arenanet didn’t label too much on the servers is that they believe in the community to do this and it turned out to be so.
The only exceptation are in eu-servers for some officially supported languages.
Personally I dislike a game that tries to force the serverpopulations too much. So I’m happy with that.

To answer your question: No there is no such list, and that is sad. You can use this system to check if a certain server is mostly american or canadaian or asutralian :

The info there is however somewhat outdated and not 100% reliable.

The suggestion of publishing a list of server peak activity time might be a good one. So feelfree to make a suggestion in the suggestions section.

Green isn’t always in first place.
The starting location rotates.
For eternal battlegrounds: Your world start at one of the three sides of the map and has an equal change to conquer places onthe map. the starting location changes when the wvwvw match resets (weekly or on server-reset). the starting location is randomly chosen, so you can get stuck with the same one several times in a row.

The borderlands work simular, though on one of the three borderlands your world will have a better starting position. wich one is again decided randomly and needs a bit of luck.

So in the end be patient till luck goes your way. Support will not edit your account. Transferring will be no use for the simple reason you can’t enter WvW right after a transfer and the tables might have switched in your disadvantage while you wait for it.
Patience is the keyword.

For those who are still working on worldcompletion and haven’t hit this point: start early on WvWvW so you don’t have the OP’s frustration.

All I know is that if your accountname changed the guildroster has a bug for not always changing it. So it might be that your account name changed fully legimate (atleast technicly).

Support can see what the reason is, what the cause is and if this is your error, their error or a third party issue

1: wait about 1-2 hours
2:check social media (this forum, gw2 fb-page and gw2 twitter page)
3: if persistent and only adressing a small amount of people, please contact support. It might also be a problem with your ISP (internet provider) where they lost the routing to the arenanet server(s). This is out of the hand of arenanet ( the people behind gw2) and can’t be resolved by them. This can happen even when other parts of your internet connection is working properly (see it as if you have 7 kids at the same school, all at a different age, 2 of them return late from school, but 5 are on schedule, would you suspect school to have an issue or something on the road between school and home??)

Hi, this is very likely not the same thing.
this is a 5 months old thread bout an old issue that has only vague simularity’s to yours.

Support will and can help you as long as you keep two things in mind.
a: it can take up to 72 hours to get a reply.
b: if, after numerous tries and waiting the queue you feel you are not being helped right you are entitled to appeal, but not before you have givent hem a fair change.

If support doesn’t come back to you within 72 hours, please post your ticketnumber in the sticky in this forum section.

If you have talked to support numerous time and don’t get a sattisfying answer feel free to ask her for an appeal. Do understand that almost all appeals are being handled by Gaile. She is a wonderous woman who is both fair and nice. she doesn’t appreciate however crap nor half truths.

Give support change to help you and you’ll be allright. If that fails, feel free to complain here.

hmmmmmm. I’ve been away from my computer for 5 days and reading this is really making me enthousiastic and thrilling. WoW a server-rollback. This hasn’t happen since…the gw1 ambrace duping issue.

So my first question is what happened?? whatr was the reason?? I know Arenanet can’t say too much bout it cause it prolly envolves an exploit or invulnarability. but maybe someone can guide me to the right direction (don’t worry, my interest is plain curiosity).

Second reaction is that, as stated, that a server roll-back is a very rare thing and is only done when there is a very very good reason for it. Please understand that this is official forum and Arenanet is very likely not going to be able to defend their decission in detail here. Also understand that they will never make such a decission very lightly cause it is a meassure that will impact a lot of innocent players. Last off all understand that a server roll back can not be undone

Very short answer: Seed turret.
This plant is built as and act as an engineer’s turret, and it shows that sylvari are very capable of building turrets. Om might argue that the actual turrets an engineer builds are more charr like, same goes for some of the tool-kits, but that might just be cause the charr-engineered turrets and kits are the best and all engineer’s therefor stick to that one. On the other hand… what are potion’s made off?? I strongly believe that they are vegetable and are the result of silvari engineering.

If there is one true odd-ball in engineering it would be the Norn in my opinion. A silvari engineer strikes me as less odd as a human engineer.

afaik the log shows all activity’s done by members, but influence earned and spent is serverbound. so is your influence gatherer on the same server as you??

I agree with Danikat. Most gaming company’s are speaking English inside the company, with Japanese as a good second (Nintendo, Sony). As for Sony, wich is more making a platform, as an executive you might need to negotiate with them, speaking at least a basic level is a bonuspoint.

There is a difference between the emailadres used for purchasing the account and where the key is sent too and the emailadres of the account-owner.

So wich emailadres is used to log-in?? His? or yours?

If it is his he is the rightfull owner of the account and you have given him the game as a gift. He has to file the support ticket then.

If you used your emailadress for the account he is playing on you are actually breaking the EULA, cause you are the accountowner and you are not allowed to give other access to the game through your account.

So what should have happened was:
A: you puirchase the gameand got sent the game-key. You forward it to your brother and he uses the key.

If you messed this up: You (not your borther) has to file a support-ticket explaining the whole situation. Let them know your brother wants to file a complaint bout the suspension but you made an error by making yourself accountholder.

Ask them to rectify that and handle the complaint.
Talking to them will solve things.

Yes. Keep talking to support. when you file a support ticket you get an automated response. The reason is that many problems can be solved by yourself. After you reply to it that it didn’t help/work you will get to a real person. After verifying you are the rightfull owner they can help you log-in. If the problem isn’t resolved in three day (minus time you let them wait for reply) pls post then in the sticky with the ticketnumber.

Considering your next question is bout the rifle you might mean longbow (and maybe confused with the gw1 hornbow).

I wouldn’t call it OP, but considering a warrior switches to ranged weapons mainly if the melee range is too dangerous, I would say yes its a pretty good pick for ranged weapon. Though the riffle is better indeed for single target attackes.

For example some of the newly introduced guildbounty’s (forgot to mention those in my firts post) are real melee-haters. The same goes for some bosses in dungeon’s. In those cases a riffle would be better cause your doing a single target.

The warrior didn’t have great nerf’s nor buff’s, only some minor tweaks and twiches.

afaik only the thief had a big nerf recently.
(still very good in PvP, but they removed culling and changed the stealth mechanics.
Culling was the effect that some players weren’t visiable in big zerks, combined with staelth made that thiefs could be invisable almost all the time when hiding in a big zerk, thats removed and is imo a significant nerf).

Well this is the reason I would never advise it. Im not saying the other things are super important. They are nice but doesn’t give you like super sayan power. But if you are going to regret it it is yourself to blame and not someone advising you.

I just logged in a few minutes ago without any problems. I see you have no problem logging in here. Just to be sure I would advise you to go to my account and change your password. You account might be comprimised. If the problem is persistent please file a support ticket.

If there is a technical issue they use your ticket to see how many people are affected and have examples. If your account has been breached they can help you get full access back, and if your are viable for it to provide a roll-back to repair any damage that has been done.

How would you tie the knots together bout the ‘other’ pale tree in your theory??

My personal feelings (wild thoughts that are not really categorised) is that this tree is somewhat influenced (corrupted would be the wrong word, cause of the strong consequence of physiacl change) by Mordremoth so it has no dream nor nightmare and only produces sylvari. These sylvari, though unseen so far, didn’t have a dream and therefor no purpose and therefor no free will and would be equal to minions.

Malyck would prove part of that as the opposite, but then again, it might be that this tree is rebellious and smuggled him out (or actually had his pod drop into this river wich led him to safer places)

I know im having a wild mindblow here, but would like to know your thoughts bout the second tree’s location and the location of mordremoth (assuming both the rumours/theory’s bout these locations are correct).

Where to start…..
a: whole new map: Southsun cove (look for an npc with a boat above the head in la)
b: living story, this is still developping, but basicly it has a few nice additions to norn and char maps as well as new achievements and two new instances. end of the month is the last part introduced.
c: A new dungeon Fractals of the mist, this one is progressive with better rewards in higher levels that aremore challenging.
d: Daily and monthly achievements have been revamped, giving you some daily and monthly things to do that are imo actually interesting.
e: a new gear level (ascended) thats above the older exotic max gear.
f: world bosses have been redesinged with a better reward system, but also with a daily limit (you can now guest on other servers at will and people where taking advantage by looting the same boss with better rewards over and over and over again, as well as causing overflow on those maps, wich was annoying for people who where on their own server).

It is a one time verification system, you bought your game in NA-region and you created your account in NA-region so you can now always play on NA-servers, no matter where you are in the world. Just start the game from the netherlands and log-in using your account and you will not have any problem playing.

First of all welcome
Second: if you want to do PvP: practise!!
The best way to do so is playing PvE content. You will be constantly fighting robot npc’s who are dumber then normal players. This makes good practise and is a great way to learn how to play a certain profession.
Third: understand that PvP is more then gaming skills alone
a: understand your profession and the tactics it has to offer
b: understand your skills traits and stats, how they relate to eachother and how you can make combinations between them that are more then just the some of the elements. (my ele uses signets, wich are nice cause of the active and passive effect. but normally the active effect removes the passive effect, but there is a trait that prevents that, using that specifick trait might surprise enemy’s, making them think you are something else then you look)
c: understand that people normally don’t tell you what build you are using. In gw1 I had an assisin build that I used. It started with ‘Beguiling Haze Shadow Step to target foe. That foe becomes Dazed for 9 seconds’ meaning the foe couldnt use spells for 9 seconds and I was on their toes inmediatly. I used special daggers to prolonge the dazed effect. After that I would pump them full in those 9 seconds with conditions and then retreat to a safe distance, watching them die from the conditions.

I never shared this build (guess it is safe now cause i dont play gw1 anymore).

This doesnt means it was an auto win build. There where counter skills, one of them where stances, so i had to recognise enemy’s that used the ones that would counter the build and remover the stance on them.

Bottom line: You just started a game wich is fairly new for you, but others had time to learn and adept since august last year. So to be successfull in PvP (wich is competitive play) you need to be patient and willing to learn. Expect to die a lot, but learn everytime you do. In the end you will get better and better.

Khisanth covered it, just for 3 a small remark. The dungeon poi’s and wp’s are not needed for world completion, but there are two instances that are required.
a: Chantry of secrets (open for everyone, just go in and grab it)
b: Claw island (you get these when you start the first personal story there at level 50)

I disagree that this is a good thing to do.

Laurels have many purposes later on and very nice things to get when you are level 80. O nyour first run through the game you make enough money for the essentials (books, gear, every 15 level and 2-3 weapons every 15 levels). The wayt to teach people how to make enough money to get their first character to 80 is to learn to gather materials. Recognise the ones that are not for you main character crafting professions and sell everything else.

It is a personal! story in a Multiplayer! game. Anet has done a very good job to ensure that cooperation and playing together is encouraged and to make sure you can always play with others, they added interesting content to most maps to challenge you to come back.

The consequence however is that every map is frozen in time, meaning that they represent a part of the story-line. e.g. you won’t see a lot of order representives in maps below lvl 30, while in maps of level 60 and bove you meet pact soldiers.

There is only one post-zhaitan map and that is Southsun Cove.

I Buy slice’s of Eda’s apple pie (queensdale heart karma vendor http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Farmer_Eda ) whenever it is daily karma spender and consume them whenever it is daily feast.

increase condition damage is good (the number two trait). You have with the flamethrower your foes contstantly burning, so letting that damage more is good.
Increased condition duration is more useless however. Cause you allready have the condition on them all the time.

There is no profession that can jump into a group of 8 foes solo, stay alive and kill them quickly. A guardian propably can (never played warrior to the level it could), but the survivabillity means a big decrease in damage output. In the end you won’t be saving much time.

You can spec all in kill quickly, but it’s no use if you get killed first. So find a good balance between them and you have the speediest farm.
