Contrary to other games it really doesnt matter a lot. Some swear by one melee and one ranged, but e.g. a ranger with a knockback skill can be a real pain for a melee player.

If your friend’s account is pemanently suspended he can never use that account ever again. If after the suspension you add another key to it and are successfull I think that support might refund the money for the second key. Normally it isn’t possible however to put keys on permantly suspended accounts.

Even if he buys a new key and makes a new account he should understand that he got banned for a reason. Repeating this mistake again can result in an IP-ban. The message behind a permanent suspension is not that you should repurchase the game, it is that ‘we dont want you’.

No, I had that happen a few days ago, so I’m aware of the situation you describe.

That’s not what happened here. The place it sent me wasn’t a waypoint, it was the place I had been standing when I first tried to travel to the waypoint. The waypoint was uncontested both before and after, and I traveled there successfully on the second try.

I think this is actually the issue. The whole waypoint is contested thing is bugged bigtime and causing all kinds of simular bugs.

This is a bug and I agree with Ayrilana that I suspect as well that it has to do with the buggy waypoint is contested mechanic.

You want a good fix or a speedy fix?? asking or assuming it is very easy and should be handled quikly is wrong in my opinion. But if you want it that way, it is very easy to fix this indeed. update notes for next content update:

Personally I rather have a decent fix then a speedy one. It’s ok to re-report a bug, but please udnerstand it is up to Anet to prioritise them and rest asure they are reading everything.

Blocking certain ip-ranges (networks) is done to deny bad people access to the game.

In many situations a network ip-adress only hosts one internetuser. Anet can’t check if there is 1 or 50 people playing from a certain location.

So let your friend reply to support explaining he (his account) wasn’t involved in any of the things they said and also explain your appartment has a shared internet connection with people you didn’t pick out yourself.

You are making a big statement here without giving arenanet a decent change to figure it out and I’m afraid at this point you won’t get any other advice then to keep on talking.

There might come a moment that you truly disagree. That moment is reached when support doesnt reply to the ticket anymore and closes it permanently.

If that happens and you disagree with the outcome, post a ticket on behalf of your friend here with the ticketnumber and a request to have a senior staffmember look into the matter.

I agree with you that if indeed your roommate indeed didnt do anything room, and indeed it was caused by others form your shared connection, you are right and i nthe end support will set it right. But also see it from their perspective.

They know you by your accountname and your ip-adress.
Normally only an accountname is being suspended. An ip-adres is suspended when several accounts from the same ip adres are suspended for the same reason (someone who just doesn’t understand he is not welcome). They dont see in your home and personal situation.

Besides that bad people are always trying to tell bullkitten stories as well and they need to separate the right from the wrong. So it might be that Arenanet wants some proof of the claim your roommate is making.

Best way is to talk to them and keep talking to them.

If you were really had farmer-type mmo players on your team there wouldn’t be such a severe lack of goods (T6 mats specifically globs, gossamer, blood, flowers) available to the players in the open world as it has turned into post the first month of launch. There wouldn’t have been such a serious drying up of loot in November of which only 1 problem was admitted to fixed which was the “credit-bug” that prevented people from getting drops of any kind for 5 months. I’m sorry but if any of your developers have been mmo players as long as some of us have been you would have remembered that mechanisms of control like DR only stand to harm the playerbase and not help, and it’s never a good thing to harm the playerbase because they’ll leave.

Now I cannot attest to the bannings being automated or not, but if they are anything like the other lingering missed bugs in the game I can only imagine how much trouble this is causing for legitimate farmer-type players. There’s either an upper management problem or there’s a serious training issue where people are being banned wrongly even after a review. Honestly there are more then enough t6 nodes. It takes bout 1 month of daily 2 hour farming to get any stack of materials needed for your legendary.

The reason he got banned is that one of the networks he has connected from and agreed to connect from has been involved with gold selling.

You can review your own networks on this site through my account and then security.
There are three things that can cause this:
a: You friend actually has been involved in goldselling. I know he is trustworthy and a good guy and blahblahblah, but many times people will even deny it when caught redhanded.
b: Someone from on of the networks he authorised has been involved in gold-selling and has gotten that entire network banned (this is only done when the person is seen repsonsable for many many offenses).
c: your friends account actually got hacked. and the hacker either used his account for goldselling, was keeping it behind for future use but had goldselling network added to the trusted network.

In short there are many reasons for this. Ask support what is going on. explain that you are not involved and that you like them to investigate more.

No it isn’t possible to use that trick to transfer the stats of the soulbound item, only the skin. The video actually is saying that in the title. its a method to transfer skins not stats.

For WvW:
You are leveled to level 80, but your armor and stats are not of perfect quality as a true level 80 character would be, also you don’t have all skills and traits available. So here it is better to really be level 80

For sPvP:
You are leveled to 80, with a separated set of traits and all skills unlocked. The armor vendor and the weaponvendor sells you weapons and armor for free (you get a default skin but you can choose between different stats). This means a level 2 in sPvP is totally equal to a level 80 in sPvP.

Transmutationstones can only be used to tranfer the skin and not to tranfer the stats. The status soulbound is attached to the segment with the stats. So there is no way to do so -snif-

1: This is very likely not a gamebug. Even though you have the most points missing I have ever seen.

2: Many people have claimed to be have checked everything. But having a good system to make sure you aren’t overlooking anything helps. please print this list and check every map if it is saying 100%. You don’t have to phyisicly go to each map cause you can hoover your mouse over a map in the worldmap and you get a pop-up. So that should save you a lot of money. After you checked that a ma kitten howing 100% then mark it on your printed list (checkmark with a pen or something like that)

First off all to prevent most troll’s Runescape doesnt have a great name among the gw2 community and it is unwise to reference to that.

On the other hand I think I know wghat you mean. You want more side story-quests-lines that go through the progress of having multiple goals that needs to be done in a sequence. There are some personal story lines that feels like that.

Norn level 10-20 story line: during the last moot you passed out and you have no memory bout what you have done. Now you have to help a char warband and backtrace your footsteps of that night.

level 60-70 line: someone dear has been killed and you are being blamed. cross Tyria to find evidence of you being inocent.

Are you actually reading what I wrote? The previous times this has occured the ban has been lifted as Anet were in the wrong. So no the guild leader is not guilty and is indeed innocent. But it has taken 3 days to lift the ban due to awful customer support.

1: The first step is to make a support ticket https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ (click ask a question).

2: After you made the ticket you have to give them time to look into it. They will response within 72 hours. If they do not then let the support liason know in this sticky thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged
Don’t forget to post the ticketnumber there.

3: after you get a respond from support, and if you still have questions/complaints/remarks bout the ticket, KEEP on talking. Sometimes it takes longer to come to the real question/issue. For example the initial result can be that your creditcard has been marked by the computer system as being involved in shady transactions. then your question might change to that you have never been engaged in shady transactions and ask them to check it manually.

4: if your being stuck in a circle with support or when they refuse to asnwer you and you still think your problem isn’t solved properly you can make a Question here to ask the support liason to look into the matter (also include the ticketnumber then).

I do believe that it has been reviewed thoroughly. A short answer doesn’t mean they haven’t checked thoroughly. Arenanet won’t give you detailed evidence bout the reason for two reasons.
a: you have signed the EULA where you agree that they can stop access to the service whenever they see fit and that they dont have to tell you why.
b: It is illegal to advertise an exploit. By tellign you they are breaking the rules themselfes. Besides accounts that got rifhgtfully suspended are account of people that go through any length to cheat in an MMO. So giving them inside into their detection methods would also mean they find better ways to exploit around.

Arenanet customer support has reviewed her case several times.
Your last resort is to post the ticket humber here and ask a senior staffmember of arenanet to look into it.

Off course if she isn’t innocent afterall there is no way that will yield any positive result.

Nope, they where selling more when the game started. but it was exploitable, making it possible to ceonvert Karma into gold at a conversion rate of 10k karma to 6 gold (although thats what the people who got banned over it claimed).

Many 1000’s of accounts got suspended (permanent but cause it was the first major exploit it was converted into a temporary ban).

Since then these items have been removed from these merchant, making them pretty useless.

a: You are looking for a guild right?? asking in the appropiate secotion of the forum helps a lot. this is the players helping players section. Guild recruiting is only allowed in here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds

b: Tell us wich server you are on. one of the big changes is that server transfer is not free anymore. You can guest on other servers now. but for guild membership I truly recommend to find a guild on your home server or pay the money to transfer. (guesting doesnt give access to your guild resources if the majority of the guild has a different home server then you have and also locks access to e.g. WvWvW).

c: indeed a lot has changed. too much to summon up here. but to try:
Ascended gear (actually the start was in november, but a lot more has been added)
guildmissions
Flame and frost (tempory content wich ends in bout 5 weeks from now)
fractals (also in november added so you might know)
daily’s are interested casue of laurel with unique rewards
world bosses are a lot more interesting (garantueed rare or above once per day per account)

jk aside… a good rule of thumb in game to remember is if things are making you too much money too fast with absolutely no risk, it’s bad news. Except playing to Trading Post which comes with its own risk.

I agree with you, but the bug that i suspect as well as I suspect other suspect is the bug at Hidden lake in Brisbane Wildlands http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hidden_Lake

On almost every server an event (or I suspect it is an event though there isn’t an event message in the top right corner) is spawning dozens of enemy’s all the time. Firts off all it is a major bug cause people using this waypoint (its uncontested due to this bug) are ending up dead in a massive fight. This bug has been reported many many times in the bug section so Anet should be aware of it and they obvious have trouble solving it.

It is also a possible exploit cause the pressence of the bug makes the heart a lot easier and its also a good farming spot for tier 1 and two materials.

Why am I breaking the rule to not advertise an exploit?? cause Anet should either:
a: remove the bugged event
b: replace the waypoint to a safe spot.

This has been reported since the first time I visited it (in early september 2012). If the OP was talking bout this bug, I truly think Anet has no right to suspend cause this has been reported hunderds of times and there is no way they could put up a temporary solution if it was really a big issue to them.

The best way to test is to try your rank with different interval’s. start with a one second interval and increase till you have found the time.

(I know im bugging your question a bit and I do am sorry, but the info isn’t on the wiki or on any outside sources I could find. the most likely reason is that not many people cared enough to find it out for you. It is unlikely that someone took the time to test it and didnt publish it so all you could get here are rough estimates. Yes you are right, but the question wasnt wich classes are easier to play, the question was what class was good to solo in both pve and pvp. And im just saying that despite the advantages/disadvantages some classes have (and a lot of discussion allready bout that in this thread and others) that no of those eventual disadvantages are tied to the ability to solo.

If an ele is very squishy, it is both solo and in a group.
There are some classes that are better in a group (guardian) but that doesn’t make the guardian less to solo (guardian has traits and skills that support you and people around you).

So there is no class that is better to solo in my opinion. If the question would be what class is easier to play then my answer would be ranger and warrior (though them being relativly easy to play also means they are relativly hard to be outstanding in e.g. WvW and PvP, but thats a totally different discussion).

hmmmm. I was curious after your post cause it was hard to get heads or tails out of it (I have done that dungeon and rewartched a youtube vid to follow your story a bit).

You are saying I and not we.

I am going to assume you are trying the dungeon alone (or you are very unfriendly to your partymembers).

All dungeons are designed for a group of 5 people. You came very far on your own and thats is recommendable. I bow deeply to you cause you are the better player then I am.

But you are doing a dungeon designed for 5 people alone.
You also used a trick to get passed a boss that needs to be killed for story progress (put healing spring on auto and go afk, so your pet couldnt die and eventually killed the boss).

It is very likely that the kill being made by your pet while you wheren’t doing the damage was causing this block. you got the chest and the cutscene, but the door’s didn’t open. Technicly you hit a bug but you are also playing the game in a way it wasnt intended to play it.

Even though what you did till the Kulag boss was very awesome, the fact that you killed Kulag wihout any effort means you used an exploit. On itself that is a bannable offense.

So the game prevented you to go further while you used an exploit.

Again I bow my head deeply to you for your amount of skills, but dungeons are made for party’s of 5 players and not to be done solo. I know its a good sport to try it solo but failure isn’t a bug. You actually found an exploit (accidently) and the game reacted as it should react.

So I consider your bug as a question, how can you beat Kulag without using an exploit and actually being able to progress??

I don’t have a clue, but its a very good question for the players helping players section.

The upgrade with runes made it soulbound im afraid. I think there is a warning telling you bout it too.

If there is a warning then goodluck, you prolly get no for an answer. if there wasnt you might have a change if you file a support ticket.

Yes, many suspensions are not done cause of the last activity. There are two ways to get a suspension for botting.

a: someone reports you for botting, and the account get flagged with a timestamp of the report
b: some automatic systems (how they exactly work is kept a secret to not show botters how to get round them) is recognising and therefor flagging the account with a timestamp.

In both cases a GM looks into the situation and reviews the situation. A flag on itself is not reason for a suspension. The GM in this case has judged that the person must have been botting and suspended your guildmate. The queu on reviewing flagged accounts is unknown, it can be minutes and it can be weeks. So it doesnt have to be something he did the last few minutesthat cause the flag. the GM however reviewed his actions on the timestamp and decided he was botting at an unknown point in time.

Bottom line he filed a supportticket, he has to wait the queue. If it was a mistake they will rectify it, if not….well then he have been using a bot.

Arenanet respects the privacy of their clients. so they won’t comment on vouches that he wanst doing anything wrong nor give any public information bout the specific reasons. what you are doing is nice and recommendable but has zero effect im afraid.

I hope he really didnt do anything wrong and it is a mistake. sit out the queue and you will know.

The thing is that Arenanet respects you by not putting everyone on public trial, but the situation is that the trial has been and they have been found guilty. Now there is room for appeal wich means prove your innocent.

My point is that a lot of people, including guildleaders are crying over their ban, know exactly what they did wrong, but are telling a fairy tale to their friends. If someone is banned I assume that is for a reason.

Do not trust WP’s video’s and rest asure the most mature lore-specialists (wich im not) do not believe the pale tree is an ED.

WP mixes true lore with his own fantasy’s and constantly make the error to present it is 100% lore. If you like his video’s then go ahead and watch them, but do never expect that he is right. His video’s are mostly classified as fan made fantasy’s that finds it’s origin in the world of GW2. But looking at the game as made by arenanet he is plain wrong!.

Shaolin: All suspensions are reviewed by real people. There have been a complaint bout you and the GM that reviewed that complaint decided that you where out of line. You have the right to appeal by filing a support ticket, but please know that the handling time can take up to 72 hours.

In my personal opinion you where wrong. You should have gently asked the person to leave you alone. When that person didn’t do so you should have blocked the person (richt click the name and block). You had all right to give that person the same treatment you had yourself by reporting at that moment. The knowledge that the other person is going to be banned for stalking you + getting rid of him through the block feature.

As for bugging events. if proven that people do that on purpose they will get suspended. The point is that it has to be proven here, and a bug is actually an error in the game.

The banningsystem for inapropiate language is the same in GW1 as in GW2. I know that peoplei in your situation has been suspended in GW1 as well. You made a mistake for feeding the troll instead of blocking. You have my symphaty, but not my support. saying what you said was wrong and you should had handled this differently, both in GW1 and GW2. This can happen to you in GW1 as well.

a: purchase GuildWars2. You will recieve a product key. Do not use the product key yourself. If purchasing from the official website use your won emailadres.

b: give the key to your friend. Make sure it is clear that it is a gift and that you are the rightfull owner and giving it away freely and willingly. If doing anonymous make sure he/she understands for full 500% to never ever loose the productkey. He/She doesnt know you so can never proof he pruchased it without the key.

c: your friend can now use the key to create an account or add the game to his existing free weekend/trial – account.

First of all don’t asume your name isn’t inappropiate for someone else. Clearly someone reported you, a GM has reviewed the case and agreed with you.

So it might! be that your not suspended inapropiate. You have offended someone (obvious unwillingly).

Third is that the GM suspended you for something else but clicked the wrong reasoncode (happens muchtoo often tbh).

So what should you do:
1: file a support ticket and wait for a response. You can file a supportticket here: https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ (ask a question). Ask for the reason for the suspension cause you where not aware it was meaning something wrong and you where un-aware it could ever have been offensive. Ask them to unsuspend you when they made an error.
2: When you get unsuspended your done. if you get a reason then please ask for an appeal and a free namechange cause it isn’t offensive in your language and it wasn’t on purpose.
3: if answer takes longer then 72 hours then post in the designated sticky in this part of the forum
4: if support stops talking to you (closed the ticket permantly) and you still disagree with them you can ask here for an appeal.

Hope my explanations of the possible reasons and what you can and should do to get this resolved helps and that you have a solution quickly.

It is very good you are protecting your guildleader. And I’m not saying that Arenanet is not making mistakes. But they have assured all of us numerous times that people are not automaticly banned!! So by claiming they are you are calling them liars. That is a hard statment. Do you have any hardocre proof your leader have never ever been involved in any goldselling??

In the end it is his word against that of arenanet. So lets see. A company that actually doesn’t have anything to gain by banning you leader for nothing or a single leader who has a lot of pride too loose when admitting he/she did something wrong.

Solid proof or your leader is getting banned with good reason and not ‘just’ for sending and recieving some gold from members is needed here before I believe your leader.

So they follow simple their own path with a replacement leader while you are away to do greater things. I see many char be actually in a warband, but not activly participating in it.

So there must be a lot of warbands without all members activly participating or members who are following different paths..

This isnt an account issue. Karma armor cannot be salvaged, cause the materials would be possible to sell. The don’t want any direct ways of turning karma into gold.

If you want the runes you need to use a fine transmutation stone, and use the stats and looks of the item you want the rune on and the rune from the karma armorpiece.

There is no automatic way to report this. You will not get your tokens/rewards.

There are two important things going on that are against eachother.
Kicking for getting a friend/guildmember/whoever they want the reward more to have then you is bad. anet agrees on that.
However, the right to play with who you want is a fundamental right they also want to preserve. So so far they are against implementing a way to preventt this from happening. They do call on people to report. Reports are being investigated and when it is clear you where kicked for the wrong reasons the person kicking you and and the person who seconded the vote will be dealt with (very likely a three day suspension).

When joining pugs with people from the same guild I often ask to be the one who starts the dungeon. Very rarely they try to get out of that and i wont go in with them. on most occassions they understand this precaution.

However, there have been simular posts bout this, one of them is started by Gaile Gray (Arenanet support liason) with an official statement by her. To prevent cluttering this forum up you are better of by bumping that one by reporting it in there.

I have the same issue. Perhaps reporting the post. Cause it is atleast suspiscious.

The title counts when you put on the goggles, not when you jump. Though it sometimes helps to get the goggles removed by actually jumping (or running away).

There are some occassions where you don’t get credit when you are in combat. this seems to happen more often at some locations, but also seems all be random. best way is to make sure you are out of combat before you put the goggles on and always check if you got the achievement before and after jumping.

Don’t worry bout your location too much, mine is valid anf still 100 miles away from where I live. but thats the way my isp made the network.

You can always go to my account (top right corner here) and then security to see your login attempts and authorised networks. Use a website like http://whois.domaintools.com/ this to check if it is your ISP showing when you fill in the ip-adress.

If it isn’t right you can block access from that page (up here – my account- security). if it is all right you should go through the authorize progress to solve your access problem :P

Hmmm, I’m a server admin and im cautious bout telling too much details bout what I suspect how they pulled the system together.

The EU-servers in Germany are placed there to prevent lag from too long routing issues. The login-server however is in the US. So all your login details are there. Payment info is there. And I suspect atleast the backup of the logging server (logging all text in chat and behaviour) are there too. So thats why I’m saying that you can consider all privacy-related info to exist on the servers in the us. either as a direct source or as a back-up source.
