did you do other puzzles?? with the sameguild member? and if so wich ones??

The reason im asking is that there is alteast one reward chest thats linked, its the one at the end of Weynandst revenge and Chaos Crystal Cavern. If you open one you can open the other.

This is a known bug and is documented on the wiki. Knowing you have a simular bug would help the devs to fix this as well as that you (or me) could edit the wiki to warn people wich ones not to do on the same day.

There is something wrong with the warning system. I didn’t get any message. It took support almost the full 72 hours to say “oops.. our bad” and reinstate the account.

GW2 is a full game that is free of subscriptions. This means the support model is somewhat different and cheaper then some other games with monthly fee. This also means that you don’t loose money if you can’t play. Oops, means sorry, so you are stating clearly that they have expressed that they are sorry. I don’t see the loss. I like playing GW2 and im happy to never have been suspended rightfully or wrongfully. But im not addicted to this game. When i do get suspended (not planning on it) I finally have time to watch some movies and other stuff.

Game addicting is a serious business, so if you cant go without 3 days off play, no matter how unjustified the reason is, I fear you need help.

The main difference is, Arenanet doesn’t want you to be addicted either. They dont even want your monthly fees. wich approach do you prefer??

My elementalist silvari is my first character and level 80. If your an elementalist yourself you don’t need to play with another elementalist. Any silvari can do (and who knows, a human, norn, char or even an asura wouldnt mind).

Som tips on my ele I used at low level.
a: dodge dodge dodge.
b: AoE vs direct damage: AoE is nice, but the damage to each individual is lower then with direct damage skills. And 5 foes with 25% health deal the same damage as 5 foes with 100% health. So find a good balance between AoE and direct damage. If you can take out a few oponnents, the fight gets a lot easier.
c: do you story when you are 1-2 levels above the recommended level
d: (later on) invest in staying durable. not only in gear but also in skill and traits. Signets are very nice

There have been reports from dev’s that there will be no new professions. The reason is that they want more control over skills and builds then in gw1. I also don’t see a need for it. The current set of professions is balanced and every playstyle has some very good options (except, healers, tanks and permasins, but that is all explained in the mmo-manifesto).

It is more likely they add a more controlable option like new weapons in an expansion and a new race. I think like the OP has stated, there is a reasonable change it might be the Tengu. They are very possible, they have their own designated (closed off) area and have been fairly developped.

As for wich profession to safe I would say non. It is too unknown and too far away. I’ll prolly reroll one of my ‘double’ races.

I’m sorry to bring it so harsh, but thats what it is. I have made simular mistakes and learned. When making long desired mistakes, like in real life, stay cool. The bets time to do them is when you are fresh and just got online. I know you want to have it, but you worked hard. so maybe wait till you can concentrate next time (thats the mistake I made in gw1 a few years ago, doing it late at night, and I lost more then just some tokens, but lost my guild).

As I remember when it was free and no guesting. I have spent time on other servers. It was a bit confusing. But after the button was hit i often had to close the game manualy and ended up on the world i wanted to be on.
So take a deep breath and try. if it fails support will help you.

very likely not. The reason is that damage is determend on hit and is done with a specifick weapon. As you can only hit an enemy with a single weapon, the sigil on that weapon determines the effect.

By the looks of this you are indeed hacked. If I udnerstand it right you got your account back without needing support. Wich indicates the system works.

It explains really good how it was possible you got hacked and gives some good tips how to prevent this in the future.

Then the server (instance is a different term used for something else). I advice you to report the hack by filing a supportticket here: https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ (click ask a question). Explain you prolly got hacked during a prolonged absense and that you already have your account back, but you are in the wrong server/world.
I dont know what the possibility’s are or what the outcome will be.

Please understand it can take up to 72 hours before you get a reply. Till then, you can always ‘guest’ on blacktide wich is free. What you do is:
login and go to the character select screen
go to world selection
Select blacktide in the list and then press the button guest. Select your character and you will on blacktide. Keep in mind you cannot enter WvWvW, and you have no access to e.g. a guildbank.

The problem occurs in many games with different races. On one hand you want to make items look realistic on every character and really oompfy, on the other hand you dont want too much of clipping. I don’t believe this a real bug, but more a technical sideeffect caused by having several races that differ greatly in size.

As for the anchoring point, that would be more a suggestion.
Bottom line is, if you want to show off your weapons to others, make a char or a norn. They form a much bigger display. If you want to be cute and adorable, then make an asura

(Keep in mind being a norn or specially a char is a big dissadvantage when doing jumping puzzles and vista’s, so size doesnt always matter)

This is as Anet is stating not a bug. They dont have to prove it is not a bug, and they dont have to tell you what you did wrong and how you could have prevented it.

Montly event participator: Queensdale gets you out an event every 5 minutes.
Veteran killer: a veteran in a low level area takes 10 seconds to kill in a high level area bout 1 minute or more.

So basicly the rewards (laurels and jugs of karma) are the same, but the effort to put into it is much lower. Off course there also others who do high level area’s just for the better drops that come with it.

No your confused, cause I do know what a false positve is and this sint a false positive. The positive is that it couldn’t verify that this isn’t fraudulous. That is 100% correct cause many people sadly have been sending mails with fraud intentions on behalf of Arenanet.

a: is there any reason for contacting me?

In your case it passed both manuel tests and it was ok. But in the case this was fraudulent it would not have been. Outlook can’t check this and only warns you to be carefull.

This means shortly you did something in the game you weren’t supposed to do and you are banned for it. Due to a few other reports here I suspect that Anet recently found out bout an exploit and has been suspending people who used that in the past.

First off all, Your account is showing logged in (green) as soon as your logged in. The log-in server does let you log-in (verification that it is you) but then it doesn’t let you go further cause you are suspended. I’ve seen an uprise of suspensions for using an exploit recently. This can (likly) mean two things.
a: It has to do with any new content (e.g. the mysterybox).
b: It is an old exploit you might have been using months ago. But Anet only just found out bout it themself and have gone through log-files to find out who used it and how many times.

The problem with an exploit is that support won’t tell you what you did here. The reasonis that it is against the rules to advertise exploits. By telling you here what you did they are confirming an exploit and even advertising it. This does bring us to your second point. Why is your support account terminated. That is a valid question that actually could be answered here.

It means what it is saying. It didnt pass the fraud detection test. This means that outlook is telling you not to trust on them (outlook) but use your own wits to verifiy it really is gw2 support. In reality I think that is actually a very good advise. Make sure and verify you are dealing with the real support team.

All upgrades are gone. You will start with zero influence and zero upgrades. So make sure you get your guildstash empty before the upgrade (or alternatvily have one account remain who brings the content over when you have develloped enough influence for it.

Actually (and I keep on speaking English, so others can follow), college and university isn’t different. College-degree is awarded after 3 years of university or 4 years of college (HBO). University or master degree is awarded after the 4th year of university (The year you write your Thesis).

I don’t believe you need to have either though. MBO (apprenticeship) in IT should be ok enough for basic customer support. If anything is planned and communicated it is through the news section on the site mainpage. But in most cases it is just saying something like ‘new items are going to be available at the laurel vendor’ and its not till the patch note till we know more.

I have been using a blc-kit, and got 1/per rare on average as always, if you got 1-3 per rare before you have always been very lucky and its bout time your luck went out.

The tested droprate with a rare kit is 0.9 ecto’s per level80! rare. It drops with lower levels somewhat. So you don’t have horrible luck all of a sudden, but you where very lucky before.

Gold selling bans means almost always that your friends account has been compromised (being hacked). Being hacked means someone found out his log-in details. This is either cause he used a username password also used on e.g. a forum or cause his computer is being monitored (e.g. a keylogger).

To get his account unsuspended he needs to file a support ticket. It is very likely he has to prove he bought that account (the product key will do). He will then get back access.

Also let him review his own online security. Im not saying it is his fault, but it isn’t arenanet’s fault either. Gold seller company’s are highly organised criminal organisations. Let him read this article:

The law the OP is referring to is a law that it is punishable with jailtime to download content without permission from the owner of the legal rights to that content.

To answer that question. You have the permission from Arenanet (the legal owner of the content) to download the content.

Due to the way Japanese culture handles internet it might be that your ISP (internet provider) has restricted regulations. To be 100% on the safe side I would ask their customer support (or if it is a company owned netwerk like a campusnetwork the it-dept)

While we still be continuing to work on this bug, this thread has been continually bumped and spammed — which prevents us from seeing other pertinent issues and is against the CoC — and will now be closed.

This issue is recognised bout a month ago. A fix wasn’t in the 26th update wich is the monthly content update. This means you will very likely not have a fix before the end of April. So please stop cluttering the forum untill then. If a fix isn’t included in the end of april content update then I would advise you to open 1! new thread bout it to ask for an update.

I’ve posted it before but I’ll do it again. What I do when leveling a new character is as follows.

a: Whenever your on level with your story do that (so is your story for level 8, then do it when you are level.
b: get gathering tools asap and gather all you want.
c: do the tutorial instance
d: do all the 1-5 hearts in your startermap, and all skillpoints and vista’s
e: go to your home town and explore that
f: go to lion’s arch and explore that
g: go to another races home town and do that
h: go to that races start area and again do the area for level 1-5
i: repeat for all towns and starter area’s. By the end of this you should be level 14
j: finish your own starter area
k: finish 1 or 2 more starter area’s. Also from now on do your daily achievement on this character and in this map.

When done I’m level 25. Then I move to a level 15-25 map, not having to worry bout where I go. I move to a level 25-35 map when I’m level 35, etc. Soon the level’s of maps will change (there is a level 25-35 map, a level 30-40 map and a level40-50 map) so you don’t have the feeling your always doing two maps of the same level.

the 4 digits are not there for identification. Yours is 3517. So it is public information and doesn’t proof anything.

And sorry to bring it to you this way, but it is very difficult to do so. Your personal story is unique for your race. Many npc’s respond differently to other npc’s. You home instance iis tied to your race. You might have cultural armor that un-usable for you. and many other difficulties.

This is much much more difficult then a make-over or a name change. So I don’t suspect that they find time and resources to develop this.

My question for you is why you want to change this?? what do you dislike?? You could decide to roll a new character of the race you like and level it to 80. I like leveling and making alt’s.

roflol, ye, I remember finding out. Just to say your not depositing them into oblivion but to your bank, you can visit your bank account at any bank npc or crafting station.

Every game has annoying npc’s, or atleast npc’s with a character that you dislike.

As for Tybalt. I really suggest you play through the whole OoW content on your own character before judging. It is very well done, if there is some npc that is out of lore it is Demi and not Tybalt. He fits in perfectly and his reactions are all explained.

1: Very welcome to the game. Indeed choosing your server is a very good research you best do in advance. The best way to do so is checking the following list:
a: Do I know people allready playing and on what server are they??
b: Do I want to be on an english server or aforeignlanguage server (mostly if your in the EU)
c: Do I want to play lots of PvP/World versus world or more PvE orientated content.

2: Second thing is to forget everything you know from WoW. This game is so completely different that it is better to forget. The trinity is gone (there is no tank, and there is no dedicated healer, everyone is responsable for their own support and handling their own agro.

3: As mentioned: find yourself a good guild. My best advice is to start in a smaller guild, so your not number 500 asking the same question.

I was part of the 3-guild search team that luvpie mentioned. Something should be done. We spent about 2 hours total and failed because we got Sottz and couldn’t find him.

There is a difference between challenging and annoying/tedious. Sottz crosses that line…. very very often.

Not only Sottz. Most of the bounty hunt bosses are either completely unfindable, unkillable or are killed way to fast. As it stands now there is nearly no reason to do bounty hunts, cause the rewards are small and the amount of effort it requires is way too big.

The guild bounty’s my guild has done are very doable. We failed one time cause we didn’t have enough interrupts and condition removers, but for the rest no problem. They are a very fun and challenging addition to the game. With nice rewards for the effort

There is a very likely different bug with Sottz wich is the reason. There is atleast one spawnlocation that is unreachable. So when all barrels are gone and he doesn’t despawn, it is very likely that it is this situation.The one reported was inside a wall, but there are likely other spawns that are unreachable.

Hi, maybe you could explain in more detail what the bug is??. I have destroyed many of these thingy’s and always go the thing out of the wreckage unless……

I think you mean the daily reset thing. wrecked thingy isn’t like a lootable body but is actually a chest. For every chest (read location) you can only get the loot once per day per character. So if you didn’t know this I understand your frustration, but this is not a bug but as intended.

I am playing through a char for the first time ( I know shame on me, im way too late) and came across the storyline ‘Iron Grip of the Legion’. This storyline is part of the ash-legion line. Here you meet Samona Ironclaw who is a member of the iron legion. At the end she decides to join your warband.

Am I right that this means she is now part of the ash-legion as well??
Wouldn’t that make the iron-legion call her a traitor then?
How loyal to his legion and how much cross legion recruiting is tolerated (beside the flamelegion who aren’t friendly with anyone so recruit whatever they feel like )?

First of all,
I urgently advise you to edit the above post. remove both the link and the method you used.

Secondly if you do so and stop using this method I don’t think you get banned. I remember finding an exploit in GW1. I tested it a few times merely to check if it was that way every day and then filed a support ticket bout it.

It is not allowed to advertise exploits and use exploits beyond the point you can reasonably know it is an exploit. The topic you made earlier is moved to a hidden exploit archive, so you can safely say it is atleast under the suspiccion of an exploit. So remove the part in this post where you are advertising the method and stop using the method from now on and I don’t believe you get suspended.

What I did for those titles is the following
a: get 100% map completion so you are sure you have all waypoints/hearts/poi’s/vista’s/skillchallenges. This has little to do with this achievement, but makes it a lot easier to find missing spots.

Go to the wiki and see for each map the list of area’s. Look for the ones with nothing in it or a jumpinpuzzle or mini-dungeon in it (but nothing else).

Check your map if you discovered them (if you did the jumping puzzle achievement you don’t need to check those off course).

This way you should find all your missing area’s

Dunno if the last update changed it, but a friend of mine had the staff drop for a level 17 character of hers.

Also it is a very rare drop. So if the skin is available in spvp, its prolly a hard one to get.

just download a screen capture program, the free version of fraps will (or used to) give you HQ screens, you don’t need to mess with command lines if you don’t want to.

So your basicly saying that one should put extra restrain on the system, just if people lack the skills to make a special shortcut or find the run-program. I don’t see how editing the output folder settings and editing the hotkey in fraps is more difficult. Besides. Fraps is unsupported, any problems you have when running both Fraps and the game will not be solved by support as with the command line feature this is fully supported.
